Thursday 15th Nov
First half of the episode ... tolerable.
Indulgent Arnav looks on, as wanting-to-prove-her-independence wifey repairs her mistake with complete confidence.
Khushi loses her temper - he made her look foolish again.
SN - she's doing a pretty good job of that on her own, actually.
Arnav confesses he wanted her to come to office, so he could make up to her for being nasty earlier. Khushi is not happy ... first he called her foolish and incapable, and now he says he knows exactly how she'll react ... he just wants to show her that he's smarter than her in every way.
Back home, she's still annoyed and determined to find something to prove to her annoying condescending husband that she can achieve something on her own.
And she finds a Mrs India contest to do so. She's got it.
In the kitchen, doubts start creeping in ... her only talent is making jalebis. She can't do this.
But then she remembers Arnav's taunts again ... and pulls herself together ... decides she can do this.
"What can you do?" A puzzled Arnav ...
"Whatever I want to do ...' Khushi still annoyed, still smarting from his earlier words, wanting to prove her point.
'What I want you to do, can you do?' A challenge that normally gets her going ... But not this time. Turned down. She's annoyed.
'Absolutely not.' Meaning, and I don't even want to ... so there. I'll do it my way.
All he wanted her to do was make a cup of tea ...
A small Rabba ve ... in front of Nani and Mami. Mami thinks they need to end their never-ending honeymoon.
We fans think Arshi need one legit proper honeymoon.
Arnav tries to defend Khushi, Khushi tells him she knows she made a fool of herself.
Anjali and NK both encourage her, that she is capable and intelligent.
Arnav tries to manao Khushi in the privacy of their room ... come and work with me in the office, I know you can do it.
But Khushi wants to do things her way ... independently.
Life lessons from Arav ... unless you try something, how will you know whether you are any good at it or not? And you have to try, level by level.
And Khushi is all geared up again.
So far so good.
After this ... pure idiocy.
Khushi tries the model walk in her room ...
She asks an ever-obliging, though puzzled, NK to take her pictures. Then gets upset all over again ... 'I don't look like a model, I look like a behenji.'
Next try ... walking in heels. Heels which she wore happily and easily last year, suddenly she can't manage. CV's, a word of warning ... we remember props and footwear too.
A fall in the kitchen, a call from Arnav, which makes not much sense. Use your will power.
And final satyanash ... diet of salad and fruit. With knife and fork.
Not final ... one more. New make up and lots of it ... clown face Khushi. And she ropes in Arav to help her.
When I wondered if the cv's really could be so foolish and have this 'cut my nose off to spite my face' kind of mentality, that we were hearing from the news, I mentally gave myself - and them - the next two weeks as a test to check.
Apparently, the story goes that Barun wanted to quit the show/ take a break. PH wants the show to stay on air. Hence the Sheetal track, to ease out Arnav, and leave Khushi heartbroken, ready for a second love story ... and a second innings for the show. And if Barun returns, Arnav does too ... and Khushi gets her first love back ... after a satisfactory period of separation, heartbreak, angst, jealous lover Arnav as he returns and watches from afar ...
Good story, and can be done. It can even accommodate Barun's break. And if he really ahs quit, then it can turn into a second innings for the show. IF THE CV'S WANT.
For this, Khushi's character had to be preserved, and in fact strengthened.
So if Khushi would go OTT and stupid in the next two weeks, I would give more credence to the idea that cv's are really that foolish that they want to spite themselves and their audiences, and systematically butcher their own characters ... so that if the PH is pushed out of the show, they make sure that there is not much of a show left behind. In the process butchering their own creations.
It seems the cv's really are that foolish and short-sighted.
A systematic butchering of characters.
Akash and Payal have been part of the furniture for a long time. Finally they decided enough was enough, handed in their notices, and left.
Daljeet protested that her character didn't get any importance. She was retained because fans created an outcry. The PH then gave in to her demands for increased screen space - by turning her from one of the most loved sisters to one of the most detested.
Thumbing their nose both at the actress and at the fans?
A script writer who has been with the PH since the inception of the show left the PH. Leaving behind a message that he was unhappy with the tracks being presented to the audience, and the worst of the lot being adopted, while other options were apparently reserved for the PH's new baby.
Arnav was butchered during the Sheetal track. Fans protested, SP heard, so he was redeemed. In barely one and a half episodes. Although some thought did go into closing the loops there.
But Barun is leaving anyway, his character doesn't matter much ... not for long.
But Khushi is still there. And Sanaya has her own fans, who will watch the show for her sake.
So ... more destruction is required.
Diwali ... the most important festival of the year, cut short and squeezed into half an episode. A festival that last year, lasted almost a week, and gave us some of the most memorable moments ever of the show. Passion, pain, hurt, angst, heartbreak ... all were there, the writing, direction, lighting, acting ... all at its peak.
This year ... half an aarti, half a rangoli scene, and no romance at all.
A 360 of the first ever romantic moment and first Rabba Ve ... presented in a cut and dried manner ... a small 4x6 photograph ... the only reminder of the first time Arnav saw Khushi and was mesmerised. Apparently that very significant moment doesn't deserve any more thought or attention than that.
More important apparently is to start the arguments on parenting. A newly married couple, thrust into parenthood of a six year old.
Next for character destruction - Khushi.
Last year, Khushi told La about child labour going into making crackers, and refused to light them. Diwali is a festival of lights, not of noise.
This year, Khushi wants bombs, anaars, chakris, the works.
Last year Khushi single handedly earned for her family ... first by working in Arnav's office, then by trying a sweetshop business, making and catering sweets, and after marriage, starting her own Dabba service.
This year, Khushi apparently has amnesia about all those things, she refuses to work in her husband's office, as she wants to find her own way ... forgets that he has handed her her own company to run any way she chooses ... and decides that the best way of showing her independence is by participating in a Mrs India contest.
Not only that ... the preparations of the Mrs. India contest are expressly designed to showcase Khushi the clown.
Either this is the cv's particularly disgusting brand of toilet humour, which apparently doesn't allow them to treat any serious issues, especially those of Khushi, in any proper light whatsoever. Take suicide track, take Sheetal insecurity track, and now the Khushi independence track ... because if they did, Khushi would walk away with all the sympathy. Maybe the head of the PH, herself a woman, has some serious issues with showing women can be sane, sensible and mature.
Or this is their attempt to massacre Khushi's character yet again ... so that Sanaya fans don't stay with the show after Barun leaves, as we were planning to do. Hence kill their show more effectively ... Because if Barun fans leave, Sanaya fans leave ... then who will watch this show, which has run for months now on shoddy scripts, poor locations and badly designed sets, and the worst costumes for the best looking leads on television ... only on the basis of SaRun chemistry?

I can't bear to watch this anymore.....they are making a mockery of Khushi.....and if these are the last few days of Sarun....couldn't we have been left with good memories?some new good ones?...do they care that little?....if this is the level of indifference then everyone is better off out of here....Sanaya too.....
ReplyDeleteAnd they seem to have forgotten everything that they showed before....Last Diwali Khushi was in heels....yes she slipped a couple of times and twisted her foot.....thats khushi ...klutzy even in flats.....but she wasn't walking like this then....and khushi has worn heels a few times since too....the shagun epi was one occasion if I recall right....so why are we are going the chameli ka tel way?.....
sorry Diya....have been keep away from commenting much on the episodes these days.....but was too upset today.....
Biraj
Biraj,
Deleteits our cross to bear becos like fools we invested real emotion in this serial to be thrown back at us like Arnav threw back at Khuhsi last Diwali..we asked for this punishment and its being meted out to us...
seriously i have no idea where this is going?
Beats me why the No 1 channel is approving such tracks....
biraj, someone on the creative team is really afraid of heels :D they made payal do that too.. :D
Deleteyes, it was OTT today.. even sanaya said that in today's SBB..over the top.. but the rabba ve was definitely a spoof.. did you see mami's hand immobile and then beginning to move?
i cannot imagine the fun the whole cast had at the dining table.. the ladies in a good mood is a joy to watch! and aarav.. googly woogly woosh! cutie today!
J,
Deleteu said it....fear of heels!! the well-heeled, the low heeled....all kinds.....
DeleteJaya, rekha
I have been wearing 3 inch heels for donkeys years and don't wear saris without heels. But this summer when I saw everybody in France wearing and running in 6 inch heels in addition to all the shops being stocked with 5 or 6 inch heels, I too wanted to buy some. But as soon as I wore them, I felt I was going to fall flat on my face forward. My whole sense of balance was shaken up. Actually had to be helped to even stand. And every female was running to the metro in those high heels. So I can very well understand the problem.
Usha,
Delete6 inch heels!- thank your sense of balance and imbalance - it is going to save your back.
From Y'day on that sterling thing- I have not watched that epi. But I feel unlikely to be an ad- Garnier is the official sponsor for BAlh.
But we will see such gimmicks soon, behna advertised RITZ- it was Viraat's gift to Maanvi.
rekha, the ultimate heels , the cads!
Deleteusha, yes, at least they gave her 6 inch heels to be awkward in(gave more authentic look).. because i remember one date night in black, where she wore rather high heels comfortably.. and she always wore 2-3"heels.. and yes, these were model-quality sky high heels, so it was not inconceivable.
yeah.. how do normal ppl get used to 6" heels?
they adjust their centre of gravity....the world looks like a different place from that level....i guess...
Delete
DeleteJ,
My niece works the whole day in 6 inch heels in London because supposedly it is the norm and carries flats in her bag for travelling in the metro. What stupidity? Her mom says she is going to end up with back pain one day. Who makes these norms I wonder for women. But that is a different issue altogether.
Girls,
DeleteI heard all serial and movie shoots have been cancelled due to Thackeray's hospitalisation. We won't even get those last few days of Barun? Sigh....
DeleteSu,
Yes my back got saved but I can actually run in 3 inch heels, so I thought it would be a cakewalk but sadly it wasn't. More like floor-talk face downward charlie Chaplin style.
Lol, Usha on your Chaplin experience. Me too, comfy in 3 inch- never tried 6b inch- hubby wouldn't hear of it.
DeleteI meant your back got saved in the long term, hi heels and back pain -wise.
Biraj, I am fuming mad ... the cv's always do this ... massacre Khushi's character for cheap laughs, and don't show her problems in any decent fashion at all. Again a potentially good track gone to the dogs in two days, again at Khushi's expense. And doing it stupidly too ... things she did last year so easily, now she can't do at all?
DeleteAnd Khushi was always confident in her own skin, and especially confident about finding ways to earn for her family ... because that's what she did. She ALWAYS earned for her family ever since she came to Delhi. WHAT are the cv's trying to prove here? That they are idiots? That they have complete amnesia about what they have themselves shown earlier?
No one in the online audience accepts that this is the real Khushi - they are all bashing the cv's here. But the regular TRP audience is another matter, and once the TRP's come back, they will show how successful the cv's have been in killing off their own characters.
Suhana was equally stupid, if not worse, but in SGP, the extended family was wonderful and they all had lovely tracks. There was a time I would watch SGP for the family and mute Suhana-Ishaan. Here we don't even have that!
Dia,
DeleteThanks for the lovely post....was waiting for it....especially since i have been reading Opti's and Shweths points...
I watched a few old episodes esp the pre-sangeet ones...in fact many pre-marriage ones ..the khushi there is jhalli but not this silly....here there is a major disconnect...what they have willfully done is made this Khushi lacking in common sense....that was never the Khushi....there was this thread of sensitivity in even in her silliest OTT outings...even in the swami days....but after this marriage track, she has been confrontational for the the sake of it.....earlier her rising to the bait made sense becos she was on the other side but in current scenarios, it appears forced
In fact, i am not saying this from a online aud perspective who kinda knows the compulsions of the current track, but to an regular viewer, it would only be a comedy serial...nothing more, nothing less....a woman from a diff strata soc married to a "rich" man is having this sudden nasha of making it big and so is doing this......just like some mango serial, no head no tail....what have u done to ur creation, 4Lions? no lion-heart there...
liked the episode. seeing sbb and sbs about Mrs. India contest , i was very scared to see the episode.. but then when i saw it, khushi was really funny, not cringeworthy at all.. maybe it helped that i had two junior junta to laugh at her antics alongwith me.. but laughed a lot today.
ReplyDeleteminiupdate:
khushi decides to do something by herself, as proof of her own capability. two really cute arshi moments, while she debates in her head about what to do. "okay, i will participate in the Mrs. India contest." she gets a pair of really high heels, practices walking, scares the raizada ladies, asks NK to take some pics of her, sees those, ("ugh! i look like a behenji.. need to learn to be modern!") decides to diet and scares the lunch table with her dangerous eating, goes to her room, aarav gives her gyaan, she scary-makes-up her face and falls on her **** , and all the raizada remaining (RR) rush into the room.
no precap. i give it three thumbs up, for making me laugh.
J,
DeleteI am not in IF. I just stalk the place once in a while. I miss Redux too, I appreciate the few faithful at the adda.
Me too, laughed a lot and cringed a good deal too. I can imagine Dia will be fuming mad after the episode.
All in all OK- just like any OTT Khushi track. (I preferred the chaplin comedy- there was no fear of ASR or the Raizadas catching her there.)
Loved how Aarav switched off the fan as soon as he saw the Raizadas enter- looked like he wanted to save her the embarassment.
DeleteThanks jaya, I thought I was the only one who enjoyed it. :-))
I didn't mind the first half ... even appreciated that Khushi wanted to make her own way and not depend on Arnav's business. And Khushi was not OTT throughout the episode - today the writing was pathetic, not the drection.
DeleteBut her major talent has always been in cooking, her husband has even presented her with a company of her own. And she has also always been most comfortable in her own skin, and never had any hangups about being inferior or different. She always mixed with the Raizada guests easily and confidently - take last Diwali, take the cocktail party. To show her suddenly unable to walk in heels, when she has worn them before, take photos in that salwar kameez when she has worn the sexiest blouses and gorgeous sarees ... ridiculous!!!
The walking in heels was still okay ... but the make up scene?!!! Totally cringeworthy ... not the least because it was SOOOO CLICHED ... have seen this sort of thing in a hundred shows and movies.
That bad eh???
ReplyDeleteI have not watched it and will not watch it, will like to keep my good memories of the show intact, thank you very much.
Things are much much uglier than we think that is what my ulta decoding stuff tells me from if I may call them BS's sources is true -
Gul had an open confrontation with BS, SI with everyone present including apparently some media people.
She practically told him she will kick him out, pretty much insulted his work for the past 1.5 years and the WORST questioned BS & SI's friendship, this is what is being hinted from loads of people who have access to BS and the set.
And this is the primary reason, why everyone is keeping quiet and not coming out with the full version as it could complicate matters further as it involves their personal lives.
Sanaya is absolutely disgusted with the PH and the scenario and just wants to get out of this PH.
From the interview I gathered that, he did not want to leave now definitely not the way he is making his exit.
He has no project in hand, he is pretty much going to be out of a job after the UK Trip.
The show is anyway ending in FEB, so why would BS quit now?
Akshay Dogra is right, Gul should happen to every actor.
He should know, Akshay trusted her hoping he will get the role he was promised and was let down.
BS is also being slaughtered by her just so she can save her a**.
That interview looked like she researched the whole of IF posts and made him do her gun gaan.
BS first part looked fairly composed. But the second part is where the mask started to come out.
Like Akshay said, hopefully after this BS will be smarter, wiser and more organised be it in terms of his schedule, PR, Contracts.
I am sure Akshay didnt mean the gul thing as complement and maybe that is why BS mentioned it too and dumb Gul took it as a complement.
This is one version of it and I am inclined to believe it.
We do not have the full details and I doubt if we will ever do.
Never thought this show would leave such a bitter taste in my mouth, sigh!
Ending this on a brighter note:)
Just reading the Live update of MB.........
Do you guys remember how I always wanted a scene where ASR sends khushi to his/our room when the family confronts them...about contract marriage or whatever...
well haven't seen it but apparently something close to that scene is happening in MB as I write this.
So I am guessing what kernel aka Gautam could not give us with Arhi we can see it in Madhubala*wink*

DeleteForgot to add this plus the above based on some well known members at IF.
Thanks for sharing Shwetha...........as they say, nazar lag gayi IPKKND ko.............honestly tho, their body language did not gel with their words throughout the interview making the whole thing look like a mockery
DeleteHmmm.. why would Gul accuse them like that, when Barun is comfortable enough to attend Mohit's serial's launch?
DeleteIt is just another cooked up theory, I feel. There is absolutely no evidence to support it.
And Barun seemed very clear about one thing, he wanted a break- spend some time with his wife. He has been talking about taking a well deserved long break for a long time now.
I too heard something similar to what Shwetha mentioned....about Gul insulting Barun and Sanaya and casting aspersions on their friendship.....it was such a sick thought that I never wanted to put it in a public space.....and maybe a whole lot of people are also keeping quiet because of that....perhaps including Barun...
DeleteBiraj
C'mon, Barun said he wanted to leave way back in feb- stayed on because every one including himself was making money- Did Gul cast aspersions on their friendship then also?
DeleteThe fan girls just cannot take it that Barun wanted ourt for himself- he did not care about his fans- until the accept that all sorts of funny theories will come up.
Su the person from I heard it is not a fangirl....I would have dismissed it outright otherwise......in fact for the longest time I didn't give any credence to any of the conspiracy theories....I don't know what the truth is and we may more than likely never know.....but I think its not so simple as it is being made out to be and that there is much more than meets the eye....
DeleteBiraj
Biraj,
DeleteBut why did HE WANT to leave in feb? He had just started the serial in june and wanted to leave in feb? If there is much more than meets the eye, what was his excuse then? Or did Gul put a gun to his head and make him say that too in the interview?
Su I have no idea....and I don't have any "sources".....I was never ever going to mention it if I had not read Shwetha's post saying the same thing....and I heard it a few days ago just before Diwali and before the interview....and there was no whiff of it on IF at that time...I don't even know if its true....and if it is then its sick...so therefore I thought it best to keep it to myself....it was just strange that Shwetha said the same thing....
DeleteBiraj
I did not feel Coffee interview as scripted . When i was watching Part1 in evening , there was a mention of labour math by Barun, that was a give away for me that this info cannot be scripted .(everything cannot be scripted either )
Delete1.how he started to explain about working for 45 hrs a week, 2 days off in a week and compairing it with working of telly industry .
2.Also he said " I dont know why Pashmeen thinks I am not giving her time or cannot go on holiday .... " blah blah...something that made clear that his quitting is to do with his personal life.
Later, I watched Part2 before going to bed and I was like why the hell did i even watch this damn interview?
His line "wanted to quit in feb " left me shocked and rest of it was such bad PR from his end.
It was all for their own benefit and nothing personal is the conclusion I reached from that interview.
BS wants to move on so its better to set him free.
Gul got only one chance to clear her stand/name . how abt Barun? He is been interviewed many times after that and even in future he will be interviewed on the same once he is out from show .
Can he still confuse his fans just as much as confused man himself is ? How long can this continue? How many more chances will be given ?
Fans needs to be get real .
DeleteI am confused as to the reason of the interview. It. Is obviously for the online audience. So if clarification has to be given to none audience, obviously they are mortar. The interview has not been printed in any newspaper, so my neighbour lady wo sees ipkknd for barun Sobti but is not online will not see the interview.
So that clarifies the point that online audience or international audience s important to 4 lions as they script their shows for the international audience.
And 4 lions has a forum, a Facebook page, a twitter account and an IF ACCOUNT as well to interact with their audience. So the statements they made like story has run its course makes you wish they would not. But that is another matter. Whether we like it or not, they do keep giving their views. So Gul having only one sunlight moment is a little bit hard to believe fr me.
And having a full list of things for clarification which have been raised only in online forums only makes people wonder. Timing s everything.

DeleteI hate this auto correct which changes the word you type.
*so if clarification has to be given to online audience, obviously they are important.*

Aki: I agree, BS looked like you know what Gul, I won't hold any grudge against you, you did give me ASR and although you are putting the entire blame on me for all the mess which I am not solely responsible, I will wait and let Karma take care of you.
DeleteI am not saying BS is a saint, yup the guy goofed up but the price he is paying for it does not match the goof up IMHO.
Su: You once asked me why I am so mad with the PH, Well the reason is simple, they have deliberately leaked news when there was no need to do so. From all accounts even the scriptwriters had no clue about BS putting in his papers, so what was the need for online audience to do so? The way they have handled the actors, the rest of the team the audience with their condescending attitude irritates me to the core and on top of that they had the audacity to say the show has run its course yada yada...who does that.
BS wanted to quit in Feb was known to quite a few number of people....it came in the forum of rumors, it was hinted but at that time since people did not know about the movie, no one took it seriously.
Also why did he want to quit? Again from Priya's thread couple of weeks ago, it was hinted that PH was paying him a pittance and he apparently wanted a raise.
If the fact that contracts are drawn for 6 months is correct, he signed one from june to novemeber and from december to May, give or take a couple of days/weeks.
In Feb, BS-ASR mania is at its peak, he is offered a movie and he thinks why not? The PH is not paying my market price and the working conditions suck ( A lot of shows have atleast 1 week or 2's bank of episodes, ensuring the actors can take some time off). Here they are practically shooting barely a day before or on the day itself, why not do a movie or explore other avenues.
Now, if he indeed wanted to quit what would a PH would have done logically?
Tried to address his demands as much as possible.
Built a bank of his episodes, so his absence is taken care of
Had the guts to replace him, then and there.
They did not do any such thing, did they?
contd...
At that time, every channel wanted BS realizing his popularity...I believe he was also offered colors' Madhubala and If I am not wrong, whatever bond got signed the producers were willing to cover up for that.
DeleteHe did not take up that offer for whatever reasons - loyalty or he had the sense not to offend SP.
As for quoting labor laws, I think he was getting this point across to Gul that, the Team worked hard probably much more harder than the industry standards cos of poor budget and mismanagement on the PH's part.
I have no idea why he brought His wife in...there was absolutely no need to do that.
Fact is BS needs...Now AND FOREVER
PR Manager
Damn Good Lawyer for contract negotiations
Hair Stylist
At the moment what I am most concerned is about Sanaya, I have said this before too,
If BS quits, I want Sanaya to quit this PH.
I don't want her to work with such a PH irresepctive of whether a personal attack was made or not, this PH has
Shown scant respect towards the Actress
Shown nil concern for Khushi's characterization/wardrobe
Have not pushed enough her name in the Awards. It is criminal the way SI never got nominated for any awards.
And the butchering of her character will continue. I want her out.
The latest unconfirmed news is SP is looking for another PH.
If BS wants to continue and come back after his voluntary or forced break, then let them start a new show with a different PH with Sarun.
If BS is not interested, then let them start a completely different show with Sanaya and Viraf.
I just want 4 Lions thrown out, forget actors, channel, I just hate the way they have constantly mocked and insulted the audience be it their intelligence or their emotions and as humans we have both.
sorry for the rantwa and if my thoughts seem all over the place on this one;(
Shwetha,
DeleteI am fully with you in decrying this PH. I have been warning of their ways for months now. When they dragged Geet to dust, I was supporting and sympathising with them, blaming the unreasonable channel for everything but it is now clear who is really to be blamed. It can be an aberration if it happens once, not if it happens repeatedly. Gurmeet and Drashti used to frequently fall ill because of the cut-to-cut working schedules of this PH. You have rightly pointed out that other PH have a good bank of episodes. MB seems to have atleast 4-5 days episodes as banks. Lamp and Wick show also has a week's episode as bank.
I wouldn't buy that the channel interfers in their stories, the reason why they are constantly changing it. How come the same channel does not seem to interfere with the stories of the other show? I do not believe that the watered down version of the story is because of the channel. Star One is supposed to be fairly non-interfering. Still we got to see a lot of silly stuff in Geet too. This PH always dumbs down its heroine and their climaxes are all anti-climaxes.
The biggest drawback of this Kanjoosi PH is that they do not develop their supporting cast after the initial episodes. Once their lead jodi clicks with the viewers, they ignore all other characters. This lands the leads with disproportionate work load which it tunr affects their health and family lives. The supoorting cast get frustrated because they are being under utilised.
I will also not believe that this PH was not allowed to tell the story their way. Gul is notorious for shoving all good tracks under the carpet.
Shwetha, BS brought in his wife's name because right now that is what is upper most in his mind. This useless and ruthless PH has deprived him of time with his wife because of their ill-planning and reluctance to accomodate his leave. I wouldn't blame him for that. Some people may compromise on their families for their careers, not this guy.
DeleteOpti and Shweta, very well said.
Though I admire gul for her first burst if creativity, I am not sure of her being able to sustain it for more than a year.
Opti, I really thought I was bein unfair when I cribbed and cribbed during the last stage of Geet, that maybe they will do this better. But again bad planning seems to be their Achilles heel.
But their acceptance in their forum that last few months of Geet was crappy really hurts.
"Shown scant respect towards the Actress
DeleteShown nil concern for Khushi's characterization/wardrobe
Have not pushed enough her name in the Awards. It is criminal the way SI never got nominated for any awards."
Shwetha,
I am with you on this point. In fact I have been saying the same thing the whole week- how Sanaya has been neglecetd. How everyone allowed BS to STEAL THE THUNDER from her. But the sweet part is they are the best of friends and she is not bothered about it at all.
On the PH getting thrown out, I really feel what Barun quoted on Akshay is true. Gul does wonders to a character- like BS himself has said repeatedly, the character has been written so well, so any actor can do it. That is the greatest tribute an actor can pay to a writer's creativity. Yes, it is Barun's humility and greatness, but it is also an acknowledgement of Gul's brilliance. This is precisely why Sanaya(more so)and Barun thanked the PH repeatedly- both of them are not opportunistic- when they thanked the viewers and the PH, it was from the bottom of their hearts.
I feel Barun's priority is his wife over his fans and his duty to the show, it should be so. Agree with you his PR skills are nil, he is naive and sweet- Sanaya would have handled the situation much better.
I know you are upset NOT with Dogra quitting the show, but for the way he was treated like a prop- I am angry with them for that too. It was criminal to make an actor hang around for nothing, but for a long time every actor in IPK other than Sarun was in the same boat. They do have a problem in adjusting the rest of the cast to the love story. Even in the current track, I can see them trying, but they are not doing anything brilliant. I think Akash suffered once NK came in, they could not make a serious brother of the hero do all the antics they got NK to do.
Still, I would like to believe it was an amicable separation and I really wish from the bottom of my heart that 4 lions would give Dogra a good role in Arjun even if it is only for one episode- that'd be a good way of showing things are fine between them.
I defend the PH only because there is no evidence against them other than what the fans have cooked up in IF during Geet and IPK. I can understand that the Geet fans wanted to lash out once the PH seemed to shift focus to IPk, but the fact is that the channel closed down. I guess we had the same sentiments when QH started, but I cannot find much fault with the PH wanting to start another serial since they have not shifted any of the creative team from IPK.
My whole assessment of the situation is 'people seem to want to run away from their problems'. I can surely say that about Barun- he should put his foot down firmly, get 2 weeks + 2 weeks in 3 months, spend quality time with family and FINISH what he started. He simply seems to be running away from his problems. Probably, I can say the same about Gul too, since she started QH- may be it was because she did not want to take up responsibility for a show that could be going down due to interference from various quarters. I really don't blame Barun or Gul, because it is human to want to run away from problems. It is just not the right thing to do.
DeleteIn this regard, I really respect Sanaya- I would have wanted to scoot at the first opportunity, but she seems to have found some new strength going by the cheerful way she is going about the character. She does not seem bored or forced doing the OTT Khushi- hats off to her!
And hats off to the creative team too- they have not given up either- they realy seem to want to take this up as a challenge! I watch Madhubaala, BALH, QH, Veera, PV - not regularly, but I follow the story very well - please don't think I am biased in saying this, I still like IPK the best. And next, I like QH- it is different from IPK- the heroine is a little too screechy (Allah Mia- whats wrong with you?) - but I love the way the story and the direction flows effortlessly. In spite of that I refuse to watch QH when it repeats during the IPK time(1:30 pm), because no one can beat Sanaya nad Barun. The point I am trying to make is, I feel the magic of IPK is due to all the three factors (said the same yesterday also)-Sanaya, Barun and the script (at least a bit of which is inspired by the 4 lions team). If you take any one factor away, the magic will not be the same. I wish the PH would make more shows with Sanaya and Barun, of course that is not going to happen ever again. (Since SP has said very clearly that Barun is not interested in television.)
DeleteSu,
Ipkknd started in June and I think Geet shut down only in December and those 6 months were the worst 6 months of Geet in terms of story, characterisations, sets, everything. And the brilliant 4l even accepted in their forum recently that the last 6 months of Geet was crappy because they had no story. So you can imagine how Geet viewers felt when the hero lost his jeep and ASR Lands in a chartered plane. Ha ha ha ha ha
Opti,
DeleteThis is the crux of the matter, I feel so too.
BS brought in his wife's name because right now that is what is upper most in his mind. This useless and ruthless PH has deprived him of time with his wife because of their ill-planning and reluctance to accomodate his leave. I wouldn't blame him for that. Some people may compromise on their families for their careers, not this guy.
The confusing bit for me is, how come SP could not work out an agreement between the actor and the PH. Instead, they came out saying "Barun is not interested in television, what can we do?"
Su,
DeleteWith regards to Barun Sobti, he has not handled the situation well. I agree with you it is his life and his decision. But he comes across as unprofessional and may I say immature. That is just my opinion. Everyone has a work life and a professional life. But one has to learn to adjust these aspects of your life. Also, the guy should really work on his communication skills if he wants to continue in the entertainment industry. Or else it will cost him dearly in the future, that is, if he wants to continue acting.
Ayesha
P.S. I meant personal instead of professional
DeleteAyesha
Opti: Ditto, the leads get overworked and they are just not willing to put in the effort for a support cast which start out with good character sketch but get lost.
Deletethe lead of dabh read somewhere that took 2 weeks off cos of jaundice/typhoid or something. I don't think the show suffered because of that, they had the bank of episodes and they utilized the supporting cast very well.
I sometimes wonder if the PH had hired a better bigger set, which did not require a single room to be changed into multiple rooms all the time, could that have saved some time and energy for the cast and crew? Have no clue about the working behind these things but I believe if they had two ready to go sets as in room, time spent on the sets for shooting could have been atleast reduced by 25% may be?
I will be very honest with you, I somehow find this biwi jaap a bit odd...Yes he has a female follwing, but it is time he gave them his due....Everyone knows he is married and respects him and his privacy.
I have never seen any posts against his wife or him getting linked up with sanaya...let us face it, actors face such issues....the IPK fandom has been impeccable in this regard...yes you do get some overzealous fans, but that goes with territory and the fans age.
So my issue is since both Mr & Mrs Sobti are so keen to maintain their privacy, why bring her in the first place and especially now when a huuuuuuge controversy is interrupting.
By mentioning her in this fiasco, he sorts of paints a picture of having a nagging wife who is upset that he is not spending time with her yada yada rather than as a wife who wants him out of this mess for his sanity.
He can always say you know what My health is taking a toll, last year I have worked especially hard, I just need a break....and keep his wife out of this mess.
Just saying......
DeleteSu,
I agree with you that gul's characters are really good and the way they start out, the sory, the characterisations, the showcasing is much better than any serial I have seen recently. They have something which I like, I can call it a spark or some kind of freshness which is different, heart warming and very eye catching.
But they are a small production house with not much money and like a good housewife they are able t sustain the self in the short run. I am not able to see some of the stories of other production houses who have money but whose sensibilities do not match mine.
I too like QH, Though it has not caught on for me ecause there is no clear cut hero heroine and they put me off by giving a confused story line in the beginning.
I was happy when ipkknd started because they were giving importance to all the family members and I thought okay, thank god here they have characters to play around with who can take the load off the leads. But again see what they did by the end, the lazy writing came int play and the other characters became props.
So now I know exactly what t expect from them. See it, enjoy it for 12 to 18 months and they will the self by force of habit create a new baby, move t that one, leaving this one at the orphanage.
And another thing, this baby miscarriage thing is becoming a norm with their stories. Thank god QH does not have that storyline as of now or scope for that.
Su: I have to say there is some strange pichalay janam ka karz I have with Gautam and Janaki that I always end up watching their shows. All my shows starting from MJHT to Madhubala have these two as the common factor.
DeleteAnd RK is a lot like ASR....Cynical with a fantastic sarcastic sense of humor.
Infact yesterday I saw 14 years being thrown out and I actually LOLed at that...
The point is RK is a character who is lot similar to ASR.....And Gul is not involved.
Also I read one music director's interview where during his iniital days he was forced to copy rahman or some international hit cos the producer insisted so till he sort of broke free and came into his own...don't remember who it was.
The point is either Gautam and Janaki have a swipe file and they are adapting the same IPK cult scenes here as per the wishes of prodcer or this is the max of their creativity...kuch bhi ho....the more I see, the more I feel that ultimately it is the writers....screenplay and dialogue writers who can bring out the nuances of a character.
Gul can be credited for conceiving the character and coming up with a broad charactersketch, but the nuances are brought in by writer and the director....ofcourse the actor too.
This was a team effort, yes but the way the team has disintegrated is saddening.
Can I be very honest with you, I just quoted Dogra here, I really was not thinking much about him when I wrote the above....he was the most patient of the lot, he earned a lot of goodwill from the show, I dont know how much that gets translated into a role cos frankly every single HP had more to do in the show that Akash.
What am I upset about is how the people involved and I mean everyone here not realize the value of what they have/had and let it go to pieces like this....Years from now, somewhere they will regret this that is what I feel.
As for BS, I am still not sure what he wants actually -
Assuming the PH changes, will he continue with the show or be willing to work with Sanaya in a new show for atleast 1-2 years or he wants his job back only till his movie releases....what??
Till he makes up his mind on this and is clear, there will be confusion all around.
Can i sneak in a few question here?
DeleteWhat is SP's role in this mess?
To add, to reduce or something else?
BS and San are small fry.....yes, BS's fan base has given the issue different dimension...the game has to be between these big two....I wonder who is shooting from BS's shoulder? is it the PH or the channel? Are the PH and channel on the same page or are adversaries here?
Shweths, Opti read ur points with interest and all those comments gave rise to this thot....BS is a small player in this fight even if it looks as if he is he at the midst of all action....
As Shweths rightly put it...the punishment seems greater than the crime...
Shwetha,
DeleteWe are talking about a guy who wanted to quit 8 months in to a show, his good will for his friends forced him to come back, he wantedd out for a movie, but the channel was willing to accomodate him... now he wants time out for personal reasons...poor guy, I don't think he has much of a say. Even if he puts his foot down, some one will drag him back- he seems to not know how to say NO. (I don't want him to, either). Or maybe he just learned to say NO.
On mentioning his wife in the iv, that is why I feel irt was not scripted at all- he did not say his wife wanted him too take time off. In fact he was saying that he has taken the time off now, but not sure if wifey will get leave or something of that sort.
Poor guy just wants a loooong break. He is tired as we can all see. My heart goes out to him, though I want to be selfish in wanting to see him as ASR. Indeed, he is destiny's child as Rekh described him so aptly.
Nishi's new post has started a new controversy- I don't want to dwell on it- no point raising FALSE HOPES.
Frankly, Barun seems to be very sweet and disorganised and spontaneous- all he is aking for is, "please don't send me away with a sad face. I want to spend some time with my wife. Pleaaase understand, guys. I am just not in the mood to think of any other long term commitments for now"
Usha,
On Gul losing interest with Geet: I have seen 4 lions apologising for Geet- NO PH NEEDS TO DO THAT. Precisely why I am willing to give them chance after chance...because I know no other PH can give us Arhi.
Shwetha,
On MB:
I like the story too, esp the current track. But who is responsible for this pull that Arhi has?
Is is only Sanaya and Barun's chemistry? It is much more than that. How come no other PH can give us teri- meri and the hut scene and the haldi and the farm house and the......endless list of rabba veys?
I think Gul and Nisar are still involved in the creative process a lot even though their names are only as producers.
Remember how Barun defende them once?"Gul and Nissar cannot give us excellent stuff ALL THE TIME"
There are two guys I fell in love with when I read up on IPK- it was Nissar nad Hitesh Kevalya. I learned about Gul only later. Buit the surprising thing is theses two names are not mentioned that often, In fact I heard Nissar mentioned only twice- once by Barun, and apparently he was sitting behing Barun in the SPA awards. Nissar is one of th efour lions and that is why I am hoping the PH will not be kicked out. Keep the PH, the actor and the actress- Am I asking for too much? I am not even saying the current track sucks- it is still better than anything else on SP!
Su,
DeleteThis PH had not regrets for a long long time for what they did to Geet. They conveniently shifted the blame on the Channel. Tell me, if there is undertainty surrounding the show's continuance because of the channel's existence, would you not want to tie up all the open loops instead of bringing in more messy tracks which were so disjointed? Would you not want to repair the damage when the viewers are crying hoarse about the characterisations of Geet and Maan? A woman who was duped and impregnated by a man (and who nearly lost his life because of that) is so gracious that she not only forgives him (although he did nothing to really earn it) but was playing cupid for her sister. All protests against this unrealistic track fell on deaf ears. She had umpteen opportunities to retrieve the track and yet she chose not to. She kept justifying Geet's character throughout. All this contriteness is coming now that she has earned the wrath of IPK fans too.
We are seeing a repeat of this in this show too. There is uncertainty about the continuance of the show and they are busy opening up newer more improbable tracks rather than giving proper closure to the existing loops.
I salute you to still hold a torch for these guys. Their newest offering is already cracking up. They don't have a magical jodi which will cover up their many flaws. Unlike their earlier two shows they do not have a great supporting cast but just a pack of wannabe actors who are cringeworthy. KSG is the only saving grace but I doubt he can carry the weight of the show.
There is no doubt that Gul and Nissar do have the talent to come up with good conceptuatisation of characters (the typical M and B stuff) but do they have the power to recreate the magic once they leave their comfort zone? And more importantly do they have the power to retain and strengthen that hold? No. As I keep saying, they are a boon to VM makers because of some brilliant scenes but do they have the ability to narrate a brilliant story? No.
By the way my latest fixation is Veera. I simply simply love the show although it is a unique love story of a boy and his baby step-sister.
DeleteOpti,
DeleteI am a little tired of the mother's drama- it has been going on for more than a week, I think. I agree she has every right to act the way she does...but can't she at least listen to the guy and to call the baby 'paap'...
The kid is aaaaawwwwww...too good!
I do have hopes from the show.
Coming to your Q:
"There is no doubt that Gul and Nissar do have the talent to come up with good conceptuatisation of characters (the typical M and B stuff) but do they have the power to recreate the magic once they leave their comfort zone? And more importantly do they have the power to retain and strengthen that hold? "
The answer is NO- VERY EMPHATICALLY from my side.
Why? Because it is IMPOSSIBLE to retain that magic for all of 400 episodes. The max ANY CREATIVE TEAM can do is hold it alive for about 100 epis.
I like BV, Opti. I think it is very good story telling and they have crossed 1000 episodes. Still the story is looking fresh. Even then, it comes after IPK and QH for me. Because no one can give me the Arhi moments, I am not being just a fangirl here. But the classic scenes of the initial hate marriage, Heer Ranjha, and some scenes I mentioned above...IPK is simply a classic for me. I just don't mind the hiccoughs in between, I know creativity cannot pour out everyday. I simply cannot compare IPK, which churns out 20X5 minutes of entertainment every week with a 2 1/2 hour movie which takes 4 months to make. Even then, IPKm is far better than most movies. So, I firmly remain a loyal fan.
Opti...
DeleteI absolutely agree they weave some magic in the start of the tale and when it comes to unraveling of it...its starts to fall apart..and our sense of romanticism then takes over...
for example, i see something in Arnav's eyes...which i interpret as something magical...someone else interprets it differently and that magic starts to unfold
While the writing was very gud in the initial part...it is the brilliance of this jodi that made all the diff later on. Even now crap scenes are written but SARUN keep u glued in just for them....even ARHI magic is also not there but becos there has been a butcherisation of that character for quite a while now
if it was only about the script..Gul would have changed the hero...if Script is the only king..well i guess the truth is the "legend" of the SARUN took over and so IPK cannot be the same without them and even she would know that!!
On QH,
DeleteWhat you said is true. They don't have strong chemistry. Which is why I feel it will do well. They have four love stories- the dad with two wives, and the sons separately. I have a feeling Gul has found the formula. I feel one of the reasons I love 4 lions' show and the general public cannot hang on is because they don't have any strong negative female characters. They tried with dadi - who was actually a very toned down version of the usual saasu maas, even then we couldn't swallow her. We wanted her out, we wanted only Arhi- remember? I miss dadi actually. She would have created so much more drama.
Su,
DeleteI disagree when u say that it is possible to hold it for only 100 episodes...if u just look at the various tracks..it was a sure shot winner for definitely more than that....
And lets not forget, if they are in the business, they must have contingency plans of all kinds..which is why even during Barun's leave earlier, it was pure mismanagement on the PH part becos BS would have also informed with some timeline...in which to prepare for a new track..
If it was not possible to do otherwise, why think of more than what u are capable of? Better to state in advance, i run the course when i marry off leads....which is in fact wonderful thing becos u know where it is all leading in terms of the story.
Let me put it this way, the PH or Gul has this tremendous ability to deal with conflict in a relationship esp say between man and woman but has no idea how to go about it once it is resolved. She took the risk of showing "atoot vishwas"..great romantic concept but had no idea how to travel from there...which i will agree was an uphill task but she had so many openings and she missed the target on all the occasions and let us not make BS or channel the whipping boy for that inability...
ReplyDeleteI seem to be in minority because I really enjoyed khushi today. She was cute.
But I see it as a standalone episode. And I was entertained.
And maybe I kind f empathised with her because I hate eating with a fork and knife and till today I tell my husband to remind me about which goes in which hand. He he he he
Sorry.
I enjoyed too , especially my family was entertained after our busy day at work.
DeleteI see it as standalone epi only .
It was not OTT , pretty much in her character only . SI was fantastic through out .
Priya's crooner post has an apt title...its something that has been my constrant refrain of thot from the time Padfoot mentioned the exit option planned for ASR..
ReplyDelete"I destroy what I create"
Rekh,
DeleteIf she is talking about today's episode, please tell her Gul has already tried that in 101 OTT ways and Chaplin and BB and it does not work. She needs to try some new methods!
Sorry, could not hold back. *wink*
That was a very cute thought on Barun being Destiny's child. Loved it.*hugs*
In a way, I agree with u Su that it is difficult to actually destroy what u create..atleast in Gul's case..specially so.....
DeleteThere is this magnetic pull in the story(even in its watered down version) maybe becos these two characters played by SARUN just ooze sincerity in every one of their frames together....doesn't matter what crap is dished out...in other scenes but when they are together there is some magic (the scene yesterday with the eyebrow lifting, a case in point)and let someone remember what God has joined together let no man put asunder....(ok.Su...i am taking some liberty here....)
what God has joined together let no man put asunder....*ahem*
DeleteLOL...
when they are together there is some magic (the scene yesterday with the eyebrow lifting, a case in point)
SIGHHHHHH....
Barun, please take a wee deserved break and come back, PLEEEEEAAAAASE.
ReplyDeleteSu,
Are you here? She s again talking about garner color naturals and her husband is asking the full details of dyeing her hair and how it s natural etc, root to tip. And the fake moon made a reappearance as well. ROFL
Sorry Dia for deviating but. Could not resist.
LOL. Hubby snatching the laptop away. I'll try to catch it.Thanks. ROFL- fake moon, they are so proud of it!
DeleteHey Girls..what are u talking about...i am dense but i even more unusually dense today about the convo..what fake moon are u guys talking about? was i seeing a wrong episode online, here in UK?
Delete
DeleteSorry Rekha, we were discussing the fake moon of BALH, every serial shows a shot of the real moon. These people put up a paper cut moon. :-)
Usha,
DeleteIPK (and Geet before that) also shows a fake moon. It is so blemishless.
DeleteReally opti. How come I never noticed. Must be Sarum magic. When they are on screen who sees the moon. :-)
i am thinking.. how would Ekta Kapoor would handle this situation?
ReplyDeleteNo.1 Option. plastic surgery to barun
No.2 Option. take 5 10 or 15 yrs leap
No.3 Option. bump off ASR but again if he comes back (ala priya) give some c n b story of mistaken identity
No.4 Option. 180 degree transformation of major characters.. make ASR meaner than Shyam.. make Shyam hero .. the good guy
well.. i am just too mad :(
S
DeleteI would not in my worst mood want ipkknd to be an Ekta serial. God forbid.
I rue the day I started following a serial called parichay where the leads for some reason marry when they are nt n love and are forced and after people hen they are in love they keep getting married to other people.
So as the saying goes, think while asking god for something, he might just grant it to you. :-(
my mom visits me every year for 6 months and when she is here.. i subscribe to indian channels. this year, when she came 5 months back, i subscribed for some telugu channel in which they just started IPKKND telugu dubbed version (chupulu kalasina subhavela) that dubbing sucks so i youtubed the original IPKKND. now we both watch it in hindi, i got starplus to watch the original.
Deleteshe also told me bade acche lagte hain is a good one and when she told it is ekta kapoor serial, i said thanks but no thanks. still, i watch few episodes with her.
when this whole barun leaving the show hungama was going on, she did not understand what the fuss is about..she said kushi can marry someone else, asr can die, get a plastic sugery, take 5 yrs leap .. just outragious suggestions. every one of them will be viewed as blasphemous by a IPKKND fan.
S
S, welcome to Cafe R&R..
Deletegod, are we scarred for life that we can no longer accept perfectly "sane" alternatives even accepted by the older generation as a means to continuity?
Hayyeee SARUN aapne kya kar dala?
Yeh dil hain ki maanta nahin.......
thanks rekha.
Deletesometimes it i feel tv serials are ridiculous. when kushi first got doubt about aarav's paternity, my mom suggested kushi should get a DNA test report. i was like :open-mouth:
i know DNA test by watching countless hours of CSI and Law & Order.. she know about it by watching family shows. well.. knowledge is power!
S
ROFl "i know DNA test by watching countless hours of CSI and Law & Order.. she know about it by watching family shows. well.. knowledge is power!"
DeleteS, welcome to R&R!!
Dia,
ReplyDeleteI started watching a few episodes of Qubool hain. Looks like it will be an interesting show. Of course, knowing it is the same PH involved one cannot tell about its future. The actors are ok so far but Karan Singh Grover definitely stands out. I know it will be weird to say this but I think he could have played the role of Arnav Singh Raizada really well. Anyways, back to the show, Qubool hain seems to be more of a family drama unlike IPKKND. But here also the character of Karan Singh Grover does not believe in love. What is it about Gul Khan's heroes? They all seem to share the same trait. But this character is definitely not as dark as ASR. I just miss the character of ASR so much. I guess we will never see such a complex and conflicted character as ASR again. I just miss my love story and my star crossed lovers - Arnav Singh Raizada and Khushi so much!
Ayesha
Hi- five! Ayesha,
DeleteI have also changed my opinion about QH- it has become my second fav show after IPK.
On KSG,he is a very god actor.
And like Barun says, any one can play ASR. Yes. BUt we are so used to the way he does the character, no other actor can take up the character half way through now. They cannot give us the same ASR unless they copy Barun's style and no decent actor will do that. So we are going to be dissatisfied by any one else doing it.
This is where I feel Barun has been unfair (may be I will call him a dimwit), he just does not understand that it is difficult to watch Sanaya's Khushi romancing any one else's ASR!
I loved this!
ReplyDelete1. ASR telling K he does not give a damn about what the world (his staff) thinks about her. Again, he is telling her he is not ashamed of her at all.
2. That eye lift- thud!
3. ASR calling K up and telling her to get out of the situation she is in- though it was comedy- I loved the husband telling his wife to be careful, and again, trying to guide her and keep her out of trouble.
Shouldn't they be weaning us off Barun?
4. The RV and the kostens on mami's and nani's faces- total rofl moment!
5. Aarav: I liked the way he switched off the fan, like he wanted to cover up her buffoonery.
6. Khushi: Or Sanaya, for the brightness with which she acted out the very ott bits. No wonder she is my hero!
su, on point six..
Deletei'm imagining you slipping on thin air,and hero doing a fall-and catch.. uh oh i'm imagining arnav, not khushi! ergo, khushi cant be a hero.
forgive my paagal brain.. bada zakma laga.. thora lag gaya.

ReplyDeletefangirling
Hmm. the vm gave me this thot.
DeleteHelicopter entry.
I am reminded of Barun pulling Mohit's foot on his 'SRK entry' in Khamoshiyaan.LOL.
What was this? Yeh SRK entry nahi tha kya?
Fangirling...
Every time I want to forget Barun and look for Viraf's videos (which take a painfully long time to download), you drag me back to fangirling.
J, you are not counting days like me? Good for you, girl.*hugs*
Su, J
DeleteBarun must indeed be wary of helicopter entries.....esp if it has anything to do with a Production house that goes by the name of 4 Lions...u never now what the exit "vahaan" will be...
he must be telling Mohit u are lucky here wth the PH..but always be on ur guard...
DeleteHas anybody read Ayn rand's Fountainhead. Howard roarke from that was my hero for a long long time.
So after fangirling him so much, it would really hurt me if this creation of 4 lions is handed over to another PH.
They may have been bad parents but their children cannot be taken away from them. It is theirs.
The western way is to find foster parents but the Indian way would be to tell them to do better and that they are being watched.
And I seem to inevitably gravitate towards their stories. God knows why.
On the position of PH change, is that actually possible?
ReplyDelete...meaning it cannot wrested by the channel...its not such an easy decision..that PH may choose to sell is another matter...
but why would a PH agree to hand over reins to the channel for what is their creative input or their work of art...It would have to be handing over the rights while they are still with the channel..thats understandable becos they are using the medium...but why would they agree to hand over the reins for it to be managed by another...esp over something for which they have had very gud success...
Is it now an issue between channel and PH over the rights to the serial that is being fought...and is round one to PH at the moment?
DeleteRekha,
I was commenting n this and it got posted with the above comment.
Usha,
DeleteAbs I get what u say...while i would want to stay away from the parenting debate becos who is to really judge what falls in good v/s bad parenting....its a puzzle no one has ever solved LOL..but I am with the decision of a creative person not to want to part with their creation...what only foxes me is the utter disregard that the PH has for their work of art..is it willful, forced or something else...the serial seems to be shouting " i will cut my nose to spite my face" and given Opti's remarks...this seems to the be the rule not the exception..
sorry to interrupt... but have you guys seen this??

In fact Krish, the biggest draw in this love story was the beautiful treatment of this very aspect u mentioned...
Deleteits otherwise only a rhetorical thing...something u read or watch and forget...I always say in love stories, usually u tend to forget why two people came together or why they went apart...
Somehow IPK was able to largely do justice to that co-existence of those two emotions...at many times, it was obviously the superlative script that translated those emotions but equally the role of SARUN as those characters...
Diffi for me to ever forget when Arnav shouts at Khushi about hating her and to be told by Khushi in no uncertain how much more she hated him in return. The look of absolute rage mixed with regret in Khushi's tone and the utter despair on Arnav's visage when he hears those cutting words....suddenly a "two can tango gone awry"...his worst fear staring him resolutely in the eye...SAN AND BS ACED THAT SCENE...the scene was powerful no doubt...but SARUN took it to another level....
Utterly HAA...and missing my SOMH too....
have i seen this? i have downloaded it ! inspirational VM.. makes you glad that you were there.. right alongside .. a classic.
Deleteforget whatever names we called the CT for each and every atyachar.. this, IS. a. classic.
