Sony on top ... that's interesting!!! On the back of Indian Idol and KBC ... although KBC is down this week, and Indian idol is up ... they keep seesawing!
Star Plus - YHM seems to be well and truly out of the top twenty ... I just noticed it hasn't been there the last few weeks. heard that it is ending early next year ... hope so, it's high time! Also noticed that IB is not in the top 20 either ... but I think it's still popular online, so God knows what the fate will be ... with all the noise about End Ishqbaaz, No IB without Surbhi C ... deja vu! Why do only Gul's shows go through all this drama?!
Naagin and the three KKBs rule the roost along with Indian idol ... KZK2 crawls into top 10 ... might try Kulfi again ... though so far it hasn't managed to hook me at all ... one episode every couple of weeks is usually enough for me. The Zee KKBs are not my cup of tea at all. Still watching Main Maayke Chali Jaaungi ... that doesn't even figure in the TRP chart, but it's watchable. It's holding stable at 0.6 which is okay for Sony, so hope it continues for the full length of the show.
I'm waiting for Silsila and Bepanaah to end and the two new supernatural shows to start ... and hope to God they fall flat, so  the phs and channels get off the supernatural bandwagon. Qayamat ki Raat is out, Nazar is falling ... hope the small towns and cities have had enough of this crap!
Rabba Ve has fallen in the charts ... I believe the Shyam exposure is over and the Sheetal/Mrs India tracks have started ... that was the last and worst phase of the show, so not surprised it has fallen.

SP shows doing better now ... taking it to top spot.
Sony doing well with KBC and Indian Idol. Sony still has the most watchable shows on air ... wish they would get better ratings. Am planning to check out Patiala Babes ... looks interesting.
Silsila out of top 20, and with time slot shifted to 11 pm, doubt it will come back in. Bepanaah is at 20 ... hanging in there! KKBs seem to be ruling the charts ... 3 KKBs in the top 5! :) KZK2 enters at 10th spot ... dunno whether that is good or bad! After all the hype, and being prime time, it's a little surprising ... but may pick up. Or may not ... Erica is still quite bad. I watched the first ten minutes of the original KZK just for fun ... Sweta Tiwari is a really good actress ... never really watched her in anything before, except sporadically in Parvarish, where I liked her.
And SP Dandiya Nights is fun to watch for Sanaya alone ... most of the acts are pretty yawnworthy ... thank heavens for record facility and fast forward!!! San started off a little stiff, but has warmed up and is doing well. Jai of course is a pro at hosting.

Am still watching Main Maayke Chali Jaaungi ... yesterday felt like banging my head! Seriously??!!! What mother would call her newly married daughter on her wedding night ... AND keep her chatting with the entire family for what looked like an hour or two ... till her much in love husband fell asleep? And which girl, pretty much in love with her new husband, would continue talking to her family on her wedding night? Darn ... they just can't keep it realistic!!!
I did like the breakfast scene when Jaya's MIL tells her its ok to be in her night clothes, and so does Dadaji ... and Jaya goes and quickly changes her clothes anyway ...
But why couldn't she admit she doesn't know how to cook and needs help? In these days of Google and youtube, not so difficult to find a recipe and follow it. Chhanchhan did it ... why couldn't Jaya?

Main Maayke Chali Jaaungi

New show ... Main Maayke Chali Jaaungi ... start has been decent ... let's see how it continues. Interesting premise ...  cute, everyday couple ... his mom believes that marriages are forever, but they have to be worked at ... and the new bride has to do the major work. Her mom is a divorcee, a divorce lawyer, and has overseen the divorces of both her older daughters. She believes that in a marriage, both partners have equal responsibility to make it work, and if things don't work out, it's better to break things off than continue in a bad marriage and spoil one's whole life.

Interesting premise ... both mums are shown to be very loving mothers ... both even have a grudging respect for each other in their first few meetings ... both acknowledge their thinking is very different ... and they really don't want to be related to each other at all! Satya devi has not lost all respect for the institution of marriage, and is  happy that her youngest daughter has found a nice boy ... she gives consent for the wedding almost instantly. Boy's mum Rama devi is shown to be the most understanding wonderful lady who encourages her son to propose to a girl he likes ... even though he has known her barely a few days! I did raise my eyebrows at that one ... why encourage him to propose right away? Why not encourage him to meet her a few times first? Get to know her better? Not according to Indian sanskriti?

My fear is that Satya Devi, the girl's mother (Bhabho from DABH in a completely different avatar ... she really is a very attractive lady) with her modern thinking, will become the villain of the piece, and be shown trying to instigate her daughter to not make any adjustments at all, even the minor ones which happen in every new relationship. And Rama Devi will be the wonderful understanding MIL, who encourages her son to make all the adjustments required. Hope they make these two characters grey, and not pure black or white ... then the show will be more interesting. Not holding out any major hopes though ... Sony shows do have interesting new concepts, but when they don't get TRPs, they get warped or pulled off far too quickly.

Neelu Vaghela, Bhabho of her earlier avatar, has got an interesting role ... and is playing it well ... underplaying a lot ... calm, serious but very affectionate ...  such a difference from her loud crass Bhabho!
