SaRun were not together to shoot for the last scene. Happy wala dikha diya toh bhi kya. I rather take them separately and see them deliver one more time to perfection the emotions of Arnav and Khushi.
I still have my hopes high on that. Last scene rumoured to be Khushi alone at poolside. Maybe looking at the brightest star which is now her ArnavJi !!!!

Deleteit doesn't matter wat the end is....becos they have had close to two months to decide wat the end is or the new beginning is and perhaps its only fitting that the ones who can put the money where their mouth is will decide what the end is?
I have been thinking about this yesterday and today....my current feeling is that irrespective of what the end is and whatever have been the issues to the run-up (J..abs right hindsight is 20_20 no doubt)i can't let it ruin the joy this story has given me, actually a wonderful time that has been spent in discussing(largely) fictional people with a set of people in a virtual cafe!! This time has been real for me....and i don't want to let anything mar that for now....

It struck me that i have said that somewhere the story lacked the punch, went in a diff direction.Be that it may, the beauty of the similarity in these two scenes, one much before the decline set in and one after it.... and what do i see?
the sincerity in the screenplay, the dialogues, the direction and the acting is the same in both scenes......how can i not love u, IPK?

I guess I owe it to the team to appreciate everyone of their efforts for they thoroughly entertained me for large part of one and half year..Yes, I did not have the big heart to take everything they give in the same spirit...but then thats no reason for me to sulk....I am not an impartial viewer at all times but for a while i can be a appreciative viewer. Even the devil gets his due....and these weren't even devils....they were mere mortals.....some lovely mortals.....they pedaled a dream, we bought it....we played with it, we liked it and sometimes didn't....but it had to end one day!!
when i see those scenes, i see sanaya shining.. i love the first one because that was ASR to the hilt.. his microemotions ... those tiny shift in facial muscles that express a truckload of dialogues.. hayeee

(but something wrong. maybe they canned it in a hurry..) the dialogues were funny, see how fast khushi speaks, and that too, shudh hindi.. (applause).. i absolutely ROFL looking at NK.. on first watch, i dint see him there at all, on second watch, Karan is all i can see. wow.

Deletethis debate about Sobti peeking in the scenes....i agree to an extent....but i always felt....that there was nuance building for the post marriage Arnav and the eternal tight rope walk of ASR and Arnav (the director and actor and writer may not been on same page, also the physicality of the character was also not up to the mark )....
Unfortunately the spirit in the story remained unexplored so it became in many ways an actor out to entertain in scenes like this...my applause was for their shared comic timing....

for the record, i choose to believe that he did not tell the truth because someone in power asked him to keep it a secret... he filed for severance in september, someone leaked it to the forum...

if sobti decided to honor his job and said what his colleagues/bosses wanted him to say, i will not hold it against him.. there is something called a gag order and professional ethics..
and that implies that the 'spoiler-givers' were unethical in leaking the news in the first place.

I think Barun himself was clueless about how long a break he wanted. He is not a planned person, I can sympathise with such people. He is the opposite of Sanaya. She knows what she wants, is confident about it. She is a woman. Barun is still a bachha.
Barun would have got lots of movie offers right from the shooting of MAMR. It is believable. Mohit was offered a movie too. I think Barun wanted to take some time off, organise his life better and think about whether to go for the movies and which one- it is a risky thing to do. But right from Feb he had the itch to leave and do something else. It may be a mistake, may not be. Only time will tell. And every one is entitled to make mistakes in their life. And it is not fair to expect everyone to be selfless like Sanaya. Like I used to say, it is not fair to compare Anjali with Khushi.
Gul and SP would have repeatedly asked him how long a leave he wanted: Barun would have said he cannot make any promises.
Again they would have asked him if he had any movie plans: he would have been truthful in saying there is nothing on the cards right now. He was not telling a half truth, that was simply his way of expressing his indecision. This guy really needs a good PR person(Best'd be someone like Sanaya), he is going to be misunderstood a lot.
Gul would have proceeded with the minus ASR script or minus Barun script (I still feel Viraf was to play a new character, since San said no one can replace Barun as ASR): and slowly Barun's indecision was made into a decision by the others. His indefinite break became a quitting.
I feel it was just a progression of events- no one is to blame for what happened. I feel this all the more because Sanaya knows him well and she has been very supportive of his decision even on the last day.
Well, he must be a great guy to deserve friends like this.
But I cannot help feeling this:
I hope some day he recognises the amazing rare chemistry he shared with her- and that he threw it away in the folly of his youth. After he has done well in life.
SRK has not recreated the magic he had with Kajol with any of his other heroines.

How long do u think this would have been sustained before it petered off to a YRKKH ( i am not ref to chem between actors in the said show but more for the theme of the show- of married people with everyday problems...its a TRP puller no doubt, is it anything that seems to inspire any of us?) so my point is if an individual realises when its no longer feasible to carry on...its best to put the brakes...
I am not talking abot what all followed....fans ka bas chalta toh Arnavkhuhsi ke 10 bache aur unki shaadiya karate....there is really no end....

On IPK going YRKH way- I feel that'd not have happened.
Sanaya and Barun support and trust the creatives not without a reason- at least San knows her career is safe in their hands.
These guys were the best- I am not implying the PH here.
We will know the difference when San comes under a different PH. Oh! she'd rock in any role- but she will get bored.
But thats exactly the point..even if SRK's chem is best wth Kajol....he couldn't become the star he is today if he only did movies with Kajol right? SRK has some magnetic appeal and its not even abot his acting ability at all. He was meant to rule people's hearts...period

DeleteIt is not about SRK doing movies only with Kajol- yes, that'd be absurd and boring. Their magic, I feel was best in DDLJ- I did not see the same intensity in the rest of the movies they did together.
Iliked him best in DDLJ and in Chak de too. Those were the among the few movies he 'acted' in- the rest was just SRK, the star. (I also liked chamatkaar and Pardes and Baazigar)
There are lot of good things in life; but there is only one best- the sad thing'd be if the best thing broke because you chose to walk away. If it had come to its natural culmination, you wouldn't wish you had done things differently- it was destiny.
Agree with you all - i too disagree with the writer - one fundamental flaw in her arguement - she says she does not grudge BS his desire to move to movies but does not like being lied too - Hello, if had submitted a formal resignation and done the full notice period, where is the cheating?? - yes the OH tried to keep him back but he was firm so he was not in the wrong.

finally - like i said yesterday - though the PH was vedry supportive of their people - they were unable to use 2 months to come up with a plausible story line (and given that they are supposed to be different in their approach they should have done that instead of focusing on presurrising BS to stay!)

my comments are mostly restricted to SRK in the above post....couldn't resist commenting to Su (she and I have a special relationship *wink*)
This whole debacle seems like a case of lazy decision making. I think decision to end the show in November/early December was already being thought of when BS put down his papers. Hence, the various comments - "I am not leaving the show", "He may stay back a little longer", "short break/long break" etc. etc. And as we all know, PH was probably supportive of this decision. This is where I think SP stepped in and threw a curve ball to either not discuss the show ending or possibly extend the show. It's now apparent that was primarily for the SPL event. Because SP ending the show abruptly is not an overnight decision. It might have been their worst case scenario but something they had considered already. So all in all, I think it's mainly SP's fault as they were probably trying to make the most monetarily beneficial decision. As much as I blame the PH for lazy writing, I think even PH lost out on this abrupt decision from SP.
DeleteAnd phangirling for a bit, I will miss SI and BS (in that order) but heck who are we to question someone else's decision. BS is young and in an industry that produces a BS every day it is now or never. So good luck to him and I will definitely check out MAMR purely for him. But beyond him, thanks to you all for introducing me to SI. My first desi show that I followed like a hawk and I am all set to stalk SI and her new show - whatever it may be.
