Current TV Shows - Random Ramblings

IKNMP - is it only me, or did the setting of the Ronit-Pallavi dance in the precap of IKNMP resemble the Teri Meri dance of IPK very closely? The dark stage, with fairy lights in the background, the couple on stage, the man in white, the lady in gold and black ... as opposed to the man in black and the lady in emerald green in IPK ... a sensuous song and dance with very few dance steps (seems Ronit is almost as bad a dancer as Barun, couldn't make out how good Pallavi is from the precap) ... a song and dance which has more to do with feelings and emotions than with dance ...

The four girls dancing with Neil were good ... Mona and Aishwarya are more natural actors than Prayusha and the fourth girl. Ronit is not a very good dancer ;) but he tried his best, and clever editing and camera tricks did the rest.

So Pam discovers that Ragini and Aman have lied about being married ... her worst fears may come true, and Neil and Ragini can get together again, there is nothing to stop them, not now that Ragini is single and not married, as Pam thought. So Pam will of course take immediate steps to preempt any possibility of that happening.

From yesterday ... Ragini's mother knows about Suhani's secret ... and hides the sari she sent for her mom.  Does Ragini even know of Suhani's existence?

Everest ... as it nears the end, it still holds interest ... slowly, one by one, all the characters have conquered their personal Everests ... Col Abhyankar, Arjun, Rongta, Chand, and now Aakash. Last one left ... Anjali.

Finally one pic of Sanaya at the wedding and reception ... I lose count of how many times I say that she's stunning! Elegant and understated ... minimal jewelry and accessories, she stands out with her looks and that star quality she has.

TV this Fortnight, and Sanaya Snippets

TV Showes we're watching: 

IKNMP  is the only regular one as of now, the wedding festivities make it a colorful watch. Pallavi is an average actress ... in the precap, her drunk act was not very convincing ... let's see how she is in the main episode tonight. I find her face and expressions a bit hard, there is less softness in her face than even in Nivedita's face, although Nivedita is the vamp. Pam is irritating ... she seems to be hyper-possessive about her brother ... is she his sister or his wife? And what does Nivedita, who seems to be quite a smart girl, think about Pam's undue influence in Neil's life? If I was Nivedita, i would be planning to extricate Neil from under Pam's thumb as soon as possible after I married him. Pam does seem to be genuinely fond of Nishi.
What is the secret about Suhani that Pam is hiding from Ragini? So much so that she is trying to hide the very fact of Suhani's existence from Ragini.

YHM - Ishita and Aditya coming closer, Aditya slowly moving out from his mother's web of poison and seeing Ishita's genuine affection and care for Ruhi and himself. The scene where he was so hungry that he snatched and gobbled the food Ishita brought for him, was sweet and touching. 

Everest - ending in two weeks. Will Akash agree to carry out Rongta's plans to retrieve the brooch he wants? Does Anjali know that her wedding to Vidhaan has been called off? What is Arjun's secret, apart from his orphan status?

ADHY - also ending in two weeks.



News of Sanaya - mainly from DD's wedding.

Sanaya and Nakuul to host Drashti's sangeet and Sanaya will probably be dancing. How I wish I could watch this ... hope there is some media coverage ... but I doubt there will be any of the dancing .. at most, media is invited as guests with some minimal coverage. DD is as private a person as Sanaya, am sure she won't have her wedding turned into a media circus.

Drashti Dhami and Neeraj Khemka planned a mega event for their Sangeet. The couple’s good friends, including TV actors Sanaya Irani and Nakuul Mehta, will dance at the function and even host it.

The sangeet ceremony which will take place today (February 19), at a five-star hotel in Colaba, is expected to be a grand affair. It will be a big event with as many as 70 friends and family members performing at the function

Being a good dancer herself, and having won a celebrity dance reality show in 2013, Drashti, too, plans to shake a leg on her big day. Drashti will not only join Sanaya on stage for an act, but will also dance to a romantic number with her fiancé.”

While the wedding will be attended by close family and friends, Drashti has invited several people from the fraternity for her reception that will take place on the evening of her wedding day.

TV Shows This Month ... and Sanaya Snippets

Itna Na Karo Mujhse Pyaar ... is the only show holding my attention as of now. So Nishi's destination wedding is on, at Karan's farmhouse, and interestingly, Karan and Dimpy are least inclined to allow Nivedita's wedding to Neil if they can possibly help it ... Karan's remark that 'we can't have two Pams in Neil's life', was cute!Dr Aman has been reduced from perpetually confused to almost clownish ... pity, I have liked the actor since his Aapki Antara days. I still like him, he's cute, but I just hope he won't fall for Ragini and become negative.

Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh ... it's about time they wound it up, it's getting stupid. I haven't even watched the last couple of episodes properly, the brother-sister duo of Samarth-Sarika are just too annoying, and like all Ekta serials, the vamps and villains get away with anything and everything, while the heroine is plain dumb.

YHM ... watching off and on ... if Ishita and Ruhi start getting the better of Shagun, I will watch ... otherwise I can happily stop.

Still waiting for news of Sanaya ... finally we got an article, or rather a tweet, that Sanaya and Vivian have been approached for Gul Khan/ 4 Lions' next show on Star Plus, about a boy and girl who fall in love in college, then part ways, and the girl becomes a mother ... and they meet years later. The sketch has the makings of a decent story if they take it well, and for the first time, it is not about an angry young man and his damaged past. Not too sure about Gul though, her shows tend to be full of negative characters, who never get their just desserts. Sanaya would get to play an unwed mother, which would be an interesting character to play, and a new one for her.

The other upcoming show on Star Plus is Siya Ke Ram, which will be the story of the Ramayan from Sita's viewpoint. The promos have started, but the cast has not yet been disclosed. If Sanaya were to do this, it would be a completely new genre for her.

I was hoping for her to do Manmarziyan, I liked the sound of that show, but the heroine there has been locked for ages and has already started shooting.

So the wait for Sanaya continues, and in the meantime, Indian TV seems to have very little of interest to offer.

Rumours suggest that sanaya and vivian in gul khan's new show on star plus show is based on mature love story where female protagoinst becomes mother in college days and then boy and girl seperated.

Apparently ZA Productions tweeted that Sanaya has been finalised to play the lead opposite Vivian in a new Colors show. And there was an article that Vivian has been approached for a new show on Colors.

So which of the rumors has a grain of truth? Probably neither, as of now.
