Minor miracle happened today ... all the loops of the Sheetal track were actually closed.
Major Miracle happened ... Arnav's shatir dimaag actually made an appearance ... a final hurrah as it were ... he went looking for proof and witnesses and found them all in a period of 1-2-3hrs-the weekend. Now why couldn't he have done the same with Shyam? He could have gotten half of Laxmi Nagar, the camera equipment company, the dhol players company ... about 50 witnesses without batting an eyelid. Forgot, Khushi and Mami knew Rocky's house - voh bhi aa sakta tha.
Chalo, chhodo ... be happy with what you get.
Messages for audience ... Khushi was being good/great ... not stupid. Being sacrificial is wonderful.
Bhaiyya and bhabhi are the best ... ok, agree with that one. Wish Bhaiyya would listen, though. Chalo, chhodo ... be happy with what you got for 1 1/2 years.

And the final nail in the coffin ... Asha didi from Bal ashram where Sheetal adopted him from, two months ago ...

But Aarv has something to say ... she is his mom, and Arnav is his ... Sheetal interrupts, her game is up anyway, she wants to get out before her plan is fully exposed.
But too late ... Arnav encourages Arav and Arav recounts how he was trained by Sheetal with her lies ... she wanted money from her rich ex-boyfriend ... and used his very gullible, kindhearted and righteous wife to reach her aim ... knowing if she convinced Khushi that Arav was Arnav's son, Khushi would try to ensure Arav was accepted ... even at the cost of her own happiness. And she nearly did exactly that - sacrifice her happiness and her marriage.
But the one thing which tripped up Sheetal and got Arnav's antennae up ... she stuck to the facts completely in her story, but he caught Sheetal in the one part where she didn't know the actual facts - that he wasn't really drunk at all on grad night, hence her story of his having lost control was a lie.
One lie, or rather one cover up ... which he had done so many years ago, helped to uncover another lie today. Quite ironic
And Sheetal confessed to the one part which was bugging me ... the DNA report. The only part where I rather liked Madhura's acting ... she truly can only play a vamp!
How did she manipulate Arav's sugar levels? Must have meant the report.
And Sheetal coolly, unremorsefully admits she did it all for money ... he has so much, he can afford to give some away. What reasoning ...
If only the brat hadn't let it out ...
For calling him brat and for using him so coldly and calculatingly, playing on the poor kid's emotions, for trying to break up her marriage, Sheetal gets a slap from Khushi ... finally Khushi loses her cool. Nani and Mami appear to be thinking 'well done'!
Khushi says, what a fool I was to be taken in by you!
Arnav corrects her, you weren't a fool, you were just too good a person. Being good is not wrong, taking advantage of goodness is wrong.
He has a point.
And final surprise for Sheetal is the police ... end of Sheetal. Wonder what the purpose of the track was ... originally it was to ease Arnav out, but that was such a lousy idea in the first place! So the writers had to wind it up by making Sheetal a typical vamp.
And all the guests file out quietly ... arey, he could have asked Pranav to stay back, after all, they were genuinely college friends, weren't they?
Arav finally hugs Khushi ... accepting that she was more motherly than Sheetal ever was.
End result - Arnav Khushi end up with a six year old ready made kid, because soft-hearted Khushi feels bad with all the farewells for Arav, and can't think of letting him go back to the orphanage. And Arnav, of course can't deny Khushi anything ... so they decide to adopt Arav.
Two orphans decide to adopt an orphan child ... somehow seems fitting. Especially for Khushi, who lived with the love of her foster parents all her life.
Anjali says she loves and respects her brother and bhabhi even more ... The End.
Now what will they really show? Can only see a leap happening if the show is to go on.

Came back to find, Payash standing by the sidelines OR were they absent, dont remeber and arhi adoting aarav.
Jo bhi ho, they didnt get dialogues when I saw them,lol.
Soooooooooooo this was the supposed track Barun was protesting against.......He didnt want to play a dad and I am gu essing neither did Sanaya..
I dont blame them........they signed up for a love story and not to be parents.......and if they had to be shown as parents, it was given, it would be on the last epi of the show.
Array even the yeh rishta couple became kiddo of a small baby, yahan toh fultoo grown up kiddo hai.
And Why didnt Anjali adopt the kiddo, could have made some use of her life,grrrrrrrrrrr........

And 2 months back Dogra had not given his papers, so it was not the 'caring for his friends being jobless' either.
I really hope Barun knows what he is doing.
I was angry with Barun after seeing a visibly upset San in the SBS today.

DeleteNothing else was expected at this stage...the very intro of sheetal had dubious intentions...meant to be an exit track for ASR...due to fan pressure it was made into an exit for BS...as well.....when the Sheetal walking out with Sheetal did not get accepted, the PH made the next best exit strategy...making ASR and Khushi adopt the boy today...i see no chance of this serial surviving...the kid is there to stay....by itself no issue....i am not petty to mind that..i am mother too...but i did not think this story intended for ASR_Khushi to be parents to a 5/7/8/10 yar old kid...or is he also one of the RM casualties who will walk out of the door and none will remember....in that case even worse...
the writin on the wall has been that the tracks for quite a while are clearly a harikiri ..and by extension it means the PH has a role to play in it...they are just not interested and it has nothing to do with BS anymore....he may have been a precipitating factor at most..but by no means the cause....i am not holding a candle to BS...just being clinical about it...
Hmm ... interesting, Su ... the other side of the coin. However, burn out so early? His show has been on air barely a year and a half. Guess some people burn out faster, or he just decided this was not what he wanted to do any more. His wish - all said and done, it's his life, his choice.
DeleteI was upset seeing San today too ... she was visibly down. She has less choice in the matter, her bf is also in the same field, same channel ... she doesn't have the luxury of leaving, not yet.
All I could think during the episode was, it's going to be tough to watch Khushi without Arnav :( So much more difficult for her to play Khushi without Arnav.
Rekha, my reading is that the last track after BS leaves will be Arav's real father entering ... and hopefully Khushi will relinquish Arav to him, after a period of major suspicion about his claims ... after all, the experience with Sheetal would teach her to be less gullible ... so she will suspect him for a while and there may be some clashes along the way ...

My reading now is BS wants out for his reasons and PH wants out for their reasons...and the Channel wants it to stay for some more time...and ofc I may be totally wrong about this becos i am not privy any info....just putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 400
As a PH, If i was serious about my serial, i would have made an attempt to work that aspect around with greater honesty...not work at attempts that appear as if i was killin my own baby....Su, u will also agree...Sheetal's track has not provided any purpose...so it means they had intended something else thru this track even i can accept that other tracks were rushed due to several issues...
Fandom was expected to react in such a way when BS quit, whether of his own accord or forced to...
BS has taken a call...some may agree with his call, some may not.....some may think he is the villain some may paint him a victim....but that is matter he must have factored into his decision.....so no faraq....

Sheetal track was meant to be something else.
1. Even before the track started playing, the various spoilers reassured us that Aarav is not ASR's son which meant ASR was not supposed to walk away with Sheetal. No one was killing a baby there. No person in their right mind will make Arhi walk away with another person, when the serial is named iss pyar ko kya naam doon. It is ARHI all the way. (Definitely, it is another kosten if Gul is in her right mind)
I'll agree that Gul is not a perfect person, she has failed us many times along this journey, but the fact remains that even through all those failures this is one serial we are all drawn to and at least for me, it is not only about Sanaya and Barun. And I don't watch it out of compulsion or joblessness, it is for Sanaya and Barun and certain pearl moments in the story.
2. Back to Sheetal,
Why did they rush it?
Sheetal was supposed to be around for at least one more week. And what happened to the joker or card 4? Obviously the track has been tweaked. Did Gul hope that SP would convince Barun and now since that has not happened do 'they' (since Gul has another baby now) want to rush everything non- arhi and give us more of Arhi?
I don't know. But with the sbs showing diwali -K shouting at Aarav, I have no clue where they are taking us.
I don't feel betrayed by anyone.
The writer has her off days, lack of concentration, short attention span, new projects, whatever ... I am an understanding person.
The actor wants his life back- fair enough.
My heart cries out for Sanaya.
She is one person who has always been loyal to the viewers and the PH ...Is this what she deserved?
All the while, Barun has been the rage- the SPA, other awards, even the PH always gave special mention for Barun- 'we r very lucky to have had him' and everytine I felt it was not fair to Sanaya.
She deserves all those awards and accolades as much as him .
I still like Barun for all that he gave to the character, for the honest, caring family person he is.
One thing has changed for the better for me.
I always wondered who I'd choose between Sanaya and Barun...it was a difficult choice before, not any more.

On a diff note, Sandy would have been happy for the Yashoda ma aspect of the track....one which has been discussed at length in R&R...i did not have any problem with the aspects we discussed at that time...becos obviously we were discussing them as threads becos of what IPK has meant to us and

Still for my friend, Sandy...i am happy that her wish to see Khushi as Yashoda is being fulfilled....i just wished there was greater emotion in the track building up to this moment...now it is a cut and paste effort something IPK never was for many earlier tracks.....kya karein...these will be our thots for some time i guess....

ReplyDeleteComing back to the show, the offscreen drama has really put me off. I dont know if I will be able to enjoy the Diwali in IPK land anymore. Like you Dia, I also felt that San was so down, its hard for her.
I know the logic says its BS's decision etc etc, and I totally respect that but part of me is still mad at him, that couldnt he wait for couple of more months, and yield. Whats with this stubborness! Do it for SI , who covered your absence, your pathetic interviews. I guess Sarun are still going for the UK trip. I just want SI to go, she is the heart and soul of the show (always).

Happy Diwali to everyone! I have not been watching the recent episodes of the show but I always make sure to catch up with R&R. I hope the makers decide to wrap up the show soon on a high note. So Barun Sobti will be there on the show for this month only, he could have waited till the show ends atleast. Anyways, it's his life and his decision. But he comes across as unprofessional for me unlike Sanaya Irani who never made an issue of quitting the show at anytime. And he clearly lacks good communication skills which is a survival skill in the world of entertainment today. It is just my personal opinion though. The recent offscreen drama surrounding his departure has left a bad taste in my mouth. I am not a fan of Barun Sobti but I wish life treat him well in the future. I am more concerned about Sanaya Irani, she has always been the hero of the show for me. The recent turn of events must have really got to her. I would love to see her in a new show.

Here is a theory about BS quitting.
ReplyDeleteI think BS tried to renegotiate the terms of his contract in September (his original contract may have been for 15 months) under which he would have demanded higher pay and leave for his movie promotion. PH may have fumed because they had already accommodated his earlier leave and were not keen to humour him again. Higher pay would also be difficult considering that this PH seems kangal after the lavish spending on their other show. So the PH would have told him, either stay under the existing conditions or leave (This explains the forced to leave argument being floated).
Barun who was already feeling the strain of long hours on his personal life and health would have given the 2-month notice. To save itself and paint the hero bad, the PH strategically leaked the news to the media but had to do some messy clean up at the instance of the channel. The catch was the UK SP show where he was the star attraction. So SP may have asked him and the PH to remain quiet on the issue.
The track at the time (re-wedding) was poised for Arshi separation. SP could not risk showing the separation considering that BS is there only for 2 months. So the track was changed overnight and we saw the re-wedding happening and the BFTP swept under the carpet.
The PH may have be smarting at being forced to change tracks for the hero twice in the show. So to get back at BS they introduced the Sheetal track. They kept her character ambiguous and she could have gone both ways - good or bad. By showing the helplessness of the situation and Khushi's large heartedness they hoped to bring a closure to the Arnav chapter. Only they did not count on the manic fans support of their hero. When it got murky, the channel had to step in and again make the PH change the track.
In all this, the writers are the ones who got the rawest of deals (not that they were fantastic writers to begin with). They had to repeatedly redo the script to suit the need of the hour.
Coming to GH's lament in IF, I think what hurt the guy was not that the story was losing its sheen or that it had run its course- the guy did not care for the story when the hopeless 101 ways to annoy ASR was going on. It was the fact that PH chose to ask viewers for plots to carry the story forward. This basically underlined the fact that the PH no longer found its creatives creative enough. Now that seems to have hurt his pride and he threw in his towel. Before leaving he chooses to wash his dirty linens in public making me think even less of him than I did.
I agree with you. This must be the most probable scenario behind the actor's departure. Somehow, I shall always hold it against him for ruining the love story. The tracks were rushed to accommodate his leave. I wish the PH would have replaced him during the shooting of his movie. Then maybe we would have got a proper closure of the love story. I know many viewers will disagree with me. It is difficult to see another actor portraying Arnav Singh Raizada. Barun Sobti has done a fabulous job, I admit that and no one can take that away from him. But I still mourn for the loss of the love story more.

ayesha, according to gul, it was never a love story.. hence the title. this was supposed to be a dark story, with overtones of a hero walking the line of villainy, almost an anti-hero.. and the way she highlighted the fact that SP was not very happy about the very first of ASR's offences.. the dori breaking.. in the first episode, no less.. tells me that it was never meant to be a story where arnav and khushi lived happily ever after..

from the 4lions interview, it is obvious that barun is leaving team IPK.. whether it is a scripted interview, or not , the fact remains that they all together made one of the best shows on indian television..
but i can tell you in all sincerity that they killed the show with terrible writing and awful storytelling from the 300 th episode onwards.
as gul said, it was supposed to be a dark story.. and the SP intervention every step of the way, make it happy, make it love, make it seem family friendly.. make khushi happy, not sad.. must have been terrible to the creative team, being prevented from telling their story the way the y wanted to tell it..
instead, we audience had to suffer through terrible comedy and such illogical plots that one week's episode felt like three different movies.. and yet, we still called it a "great" story, and kept on watching it..
tell me , what was the point of the bubbly track? what was the point of masala mama? what was the point of shital? forget all this, what was the storyline during the kidnapping track? they had no idea what to show.. heck, if they asked the fans then, we would have written a better kidnapping track for them!!
the BFTP that was there from the beginning of the show, the past relationship between arnav and khushi... according to the initial promo.. was brought about by dadi.. fizzled off in one scene . that was definitely SP intervention..
i have the feeling that whenever fans make a fuss, SP intervenes.. and whenever SP intervenes, the creative team dumbs down the story more, to show exactly what the fans are clamoring for..
and that affects the story badly.
and now, if no one wants to see IPK without arnav, do you think you will see any ipk without arnav? are you ready for more daljeet is the heroine scenes?
in fact, if viraf is indeed joining IPK as ASR, he is a good actor, they might have had a good track for him as ASR.. it is not a great thing to change a lead in a show.. has happened many times.. and sanaya will definitely ace those scenes too, she is a brilliant actress... but now, what?

after seeing the interview and hearing his reason, i am remembering you, opti. i am remembering the reason for maaneet breakup. that was the final angle, that had not come up in the arshi equation till now.. they have brought that into the limelight with this interview.

DeleteI know what you are hinting at and the thought crossed my mind too. Can well understand the situation. A name came up repeatedly throughout the interview and yes, wouldn't blame him if he wanted to show that his personal life did matter more than his professional life right now. The PH was not in a position to give another break to the guy considering that they already gave him one (or rather were forced to give it at the instance of the channel) and, in turn, were made to come up with ridiculous tracks. So they did not want to go through that again, especially when their interest in the show has already waned with the appearance of their new baby (which by the way is looking quite sickly now).
Loved Barun for his frankness under the circumstances and the way he accepted that as an actor he will have to accept the brickbats along with the garlands.
To sum up, the actor wants to leave, the PH is only more than happy to give him what he wants although SP had to grudgingly let him go. Its high time the fans accept the reality and move on.
Jaya and Opti, I know what you both are hinting at too, I had discussed it with Shwetha in PM's quite some time ago. Didn't want to discuss it on an open forum, but when I was talking about personal reasons, this thought had crossed my mind.

However this interview does not explain why no good tracks were written for Payash or the supporting cast, and they were completely sidelined. This interview was definitely more about showing the world that all izz well between Barun and Gul. So it's really time the fans stop holding on to straws and let go. Anyway it seems the show will end by February next year at the latest.

DeleteYes, I am watching QH and right now it isn't impressive although there is a lot of potential in terms of the story provided the narration is tight. The reason why it has not drawn me as yet is because of the unimpressive cast. Except for KSG the rest are not very impressive in the acting dept. Now this is unlike the earlier two shows of the PH which had talented actors in the supporting roles too. The script is also not very tight at the moment. Wonder how KSG can single handedly take the weight of this show. The heroine screeches too much and the second lead is one of the worst actors I've seen in a while. I quite like Azad's sister but no one else has impressed me. I am seriously considering switching to Life OK for a show (Junoon) which seems to be good going by the IF reviews.

I have ranted at the story not living up to the promise...but what is my choice, not to watch something i don't like any more...what additional point is there to it really? Ok there were positions taken by all parties and all stuck to it more or less...but when the so called fans/viewers are not even parties to the issue in the first place,how can they presume to have any influence beyond a point? fans made a demand, it was not accepted...well move on.....soon they will find a new BS to drool on....if not,they can continue to drool on BS...in whichever new avatar he comes by, if he does...

Deletefans are up in arms because it is clear that barun did indeed give in his resignation papers two months ago. he is gonna quit the show, and only starplus has the clout to ask him to stay. if the fans pester them enough, they might... (low chance, but still there is chance) that they might ask him to come back after his advertised "break", otherwise the breakup is final.
now since the creative team will be there till the end of the show, IF THEY WANT TO, they can still manage to pull in the audience without barun in the frame. depends on what exactly will have to change, for star plus to bring back one of their top moneymakers.
After watching the interview the fourth time, this is what I infer:
DeleteMy intuition seems to be right. Barun wanted to stick till the end of the show (sometime in Feb) but also wanted another spell of leave - to spend time with his wife (who was feeling neglected) and may be to promote his movie. He thought it was justified considering that everyone was making money from the show and could accommodate the star puller of the show as it was in everyone's interest. The problem was this PH never has enough bank episodes. They mostly shoot back to back episodes and telecast them on the day of the shoot. Since the story already had a hero missing track, they cannot repeat it again. They could have woven the story in such a way that the actor is able to shoot some bank scenes before he takes off on his break - which according to him was for 10-12 days. The movie promotion could be fitted in between and may not require continued absence.
As I said, Arshi separation was to have come during the re-wedding track. Who knows, may be Barun may have wanted to go on the holiday during that break. They could have had the few angst scenes of the hero post the past revelation and shifted the focus on the heart broken heroine till the guy got back for the reunion.
Now Gul mata has not forgiven Barun for taking a longer break than he promised in the earlier instance. In fact at the time she may have been willing to let him go permanently(the reason why he was ambiguous about whether he was staying or leaving then) but for the intervention of the channel. Gul clearly admitted that it was Suzanne from the channel who wanted them to rework on the script and let him go temporarily and not permanently. His extended break gave them nightmarish time holding the script together. She did not want to do him any special favours this time and instead may have given him an ultimatum that he either stays or leaves for good. It is quite possible that she may have reminded him that it is the show that made him and not the other way around (see he never answered her rhetoric question 'why would I blast you'). A stung Barun put in his papers and served the two months notice. Now SP was in a quandary because they had already committed to having the show on air till Feb and the UK trip was coming up - a trip whose star attraction was the man himself. So they asked both the PH and the actor to keep quiet about the matter till the time Barun actually has to leave.
When the news that Barun's departure is confirmed spilled out, the fans went into a frenzy and SP seems to have tried to mediate some compromise between the two. With both parties equally strong in their position they have decided to part ways and since it is a small world both don't want to burn bridges they cannot mend.

DeleteIf one carefully listens to the interview, one can still read between the lines. Barun did have his fair share of taking digs at Gul as she did at him. His remark about how Akshay had said that every hard working actor should have a stint with Gul was a sarcastic comment about how the supporting cast was under utilised. He also pointed out that he got a shock (current) while shooting the kidnapping track to underline how this PH is careless about the shooting conditions. He pointed out how dori scene was shot for days (with the locations even changed) with poor Sanaya having to put up with glycerine for 8-10 hours every day. Yes, they were perfectionists but it was at the cost of the actors. At some point the actors are just too fatigued to even try. Gurmeet and Drashti used to frequently fall sick while they were shooting Geet because of the demanding hours. With better planning, the sheer exhaustion he is talking about could have been avoided. Small breaks could have also been worked out had there been more bank episodes which in turn requires well thought out script. This PH seems to have never learnt from the mistakes of the past. The one person for whom my heart goes out right now is Sanaya who is left friendless in all this and is still bravely holding fort.

I have been upset about the story from the slapgate onwards...I did not have any idea why Gul did not tell her story...including the DKS track. i have been stingy in my praise for her from that track onwards...even now i can only conjecture about the reasons for her not telling us her story...the tracks later on, i find justification for change in the light of present circumstances..but not the earlier ones..anyways,now it does not matter what the real cause is...she gave us a great serial even with all the constraints...be it her own or ones thrust upon her...
The audience itself was perhaps not ready for the tracks she had envisaged....that would definitely have a big role to play in it...apart from all the other intrinsic and extraneous consideration...tat we have discussed here ad-nauseum..

Barun is a very emotional person. I am pretty sure it is not the reason you are all suggesting, because he wanted to leave in feb. He stayed on because 'everyone
was making money', he himself was making money.
I said this at the time of barun's movie itself. I even remember I upset Sama when I mentioned it. Barun does not have the commitment to the show that San has.
He thinks any one can play ASR (call it his humility too!)- he does not know that the fandom will not accept
any one else. If he knows this fact and still chose to opt out, he is being very unfair to Sanaya.
Even back then, with the movie ivs, he was pretty clear- ASR was just another role. And he believes MAMR is a pretty good role too. What he does not realise is that it is the role of a lifetime. I hope he gets many more good opportunities in the future.
For me, things have changed with this iv. I will accept whatever they shove down my throat AND I WILL WATCH THIS SHOW FOR SANAYA.
This was a highpoint in her career and I wish her 'friend' was a little bit more understanding.

I am not ashamed to say this. I cried yesterday, for Sanaya. I really cried. The last time I cried (since AD has been pretty good to me)- believe it or not- call me silly (though I did not cry buckets or anything)- was the night Khushi was thrown out on the terrace on SR.

Barun staying on and PH not wanting to go ahead would have still been pretty much the same end...when a creative house says i am at the end of my creative tether....(i can't believe they said it as a favour for Barun)...so it means...
1)they did not get a chance to say their story or
2) now they are fed up of telling it the way they did not intend or
3)plain and simple they don't want to say their story anymore
San will still come out of all this unscathed...she is a too talented for anyone to bypass..its just that the industry is such and she is part of a serial which saw unprecedented fame for the male lead...

He was probably ready to leave even the first time round, when he got his MAMR break, he was held back by SP because SPA had just happened. The guy himself said that this was the first time his show has crossed the one year mark, and that he gets bored easily. This is also not the first time he has complained about the working hours and holidays -

In that case, tellyworld is definitely NOT for him.
SO SP held him back - Gul got in some potshots about how he kept extending his leave and they had to get his re-kidnapped ... the entire kidnapping track was because he wanted to shoot his movie - and he did, to the detriment of the show and the intended storyline, and at the expense of his co-actors.
YES, he worked his butt off shooting for two things simultaneously ... but he was following HIS dreams. Nobody held a gun to his head and said shoot for the movie also. And he played it safe by sticking to the show when he was asked to.
BUT, the other actors on IPKKND ALSO worked their butts off - for HIM to follow his dreams ... mainly Sanaya, but Mami and Abhaas too. The main person who took the burden was Sanaya - the tracks which worked during the kidnapping were Khushi's realisation, Khushi-Abhaas confrontations, Khushi-Mami, and then Khushi-NK. Common factor - Khushi. Sanaya worked her butt off for BARUN'S dreams, not her own.
For Gul, ASR is her dream character ... when he went awry because of Barun's leave, she started losing interest in the show. Barun came back in July, in September he gave in two months notice. By then, Gul had started work on QH, so she stopped bothering about IPK at all. ASR got butchered, Khushi got badly butchered - I noticed Gul did not mention Sanaya at all, Barun did but only in passing ... it was all about how Barun took time off, and how Gul kept the show going and pandered to his demands, and SP wanted to keep the show on so she did XYZ ... Barun's potshots at side characters - yes, Opti, agree that Akshay remark was a jab at her.
Barun's frequent mentions of one person, his plans for holiday ... yes, personal life is getting impacted, wife is not from the telly industry, she doesn't like some aspects of his work. Maybe it's the hours, and the lack of holidays that she objects to, that's why his insistence on a holiday and time with her. In which case, his decision is completely justified, but maybe he needs to re-think his choice of career. Any career demands sacrifices on the part of the spouse, but a career in showbiz especially so.

DeleteSo again back to my original belief ... both Barun and Gul lost interest in the show - whether it was cause and effect or Gul just has a short attention span, I don't know. But Gul and Barun both are really lucky that the entire team is so supportive - Gul even more, because Barun has put himself firmly in a big hole with this interview, by admitting he wanted to leave as was initially leaked, he denied, then admitted now.
Gul has been very smart in clearing her name, leaving him to take all the flak, when I am sure both she and SP told him to keep quiet about leaving till UK trip was over. But he's a big boy, he could have made it clear that he will tell the entire truth this time round, because last time it came out piecemeal. He needs to fight his own battles - a bunch of blind fans can't do it because none of them are privy to all the facts, and many facts they simply don't want to see.
And again, my sympathy is all of this is with SANAYA. Her dream project, where she won millions of hearts even in a role which was not author-backed ... all her hard work not even acknowledged because fans are busy fighting for the show to end with a man who hasn't been committed to it for ages.
so I will watch it for Sanaya for however long it goes on ... and I will pray again, as I did after MJHT, that she get another show very soon when this one winds up. And this time with a better actor and a better PH both. Now I really understand why Nani, Mami, Anjali, NK were all trying to cheer her up in the last SBS ... she's sticking on, and fans are demanding for the show to end. How must she be feeling?!
I'd actually rather demand SP to wind up IPK, Barun or no Barun, and bring Sanaya back in a new show!
opti, your posts seem to have been locked up before, dint see them... this is the veryy simple logical solution that everyone with a thinking mind will draw from the interview. the way he asked gul "did you know i got a shock during shooting the kidnapping track?" so curious to see him asking that, to gul of all people. so even if the interview was edited a lot (with voice cutting off midsentence) he and gul both seem to have a few axes to grind with each other..

in total agreement with ayesha... though i don't hold any grudge against BS, i like him way too much to do that*sigh*. i'm least privy to all off screen dramas, except for the ones discussed here... and i'm equally annoyed with every party for ruining my love story. be it BS, GH, Gul or SP and the fandom.
ReplyDeletedemanding that the serial be shut down, because their fav actor wants to exit the show is not a sensible demand. a show doesn't run just for the actor and it obv sets a bad precedent for the future. so i would most definitely watch the show if they replace arnav with a new actor and continue it with dedication. now thats where i'm guessing the PH fails. they have already washed their hands off the show and looking for excuses to wind up.
a PH who has lost interest with the show, a show from which almost 3/4th of the cast including the audience grabbing hero is quitting, then the show must be let to wind up with a high note... they can always come back for a second season. at the end of the day for the PH and actors its all about deals, so is for the channel. what is the point of putting pressure when no body is interested. it would only yield substandard results.
what i fail to understand is why couldn't they negotiate with BS to stay for a couple of more months just to finish the serial. they can tighten the script and close all the loops and then end the show on a happy note. i respect barun's decision, for his its his career. he cant let fan's sentiments cloud that. he is matured and worldly wise enough to know what is good and what is bad. so if he thinks quitting is the best way then so be it. but a couple more months would have seen them all part ways on cordial terms and satisfied the fans too.
my greatest grievance would be amidst all this drama my love story went for the toss. there are still so many things that have been left unsaid between arshi. yes a few milestones were remembered during remarriage, but with no intensity or passion. if not anything else, can v alteast have the closure of last years diwali plz?

I never understood this since I had not hit on the net during those times. Now when I read posts and OS like this, I get it that ASR was HATED for what he did to K.
I found him very unfair too and wanted her to pull his hair out many times..but I thought that was supposed to be the angst, and it was BEAUTIFULLY PORTRAYED by the cscript, the direction and the actors.
J, on your comment on Gul saying it was not intended to be a love story, I think what she meant was this. Lot of situations of a meanie ASR had to be avoided because SP toned it down. Yes, he was a dark horse for Gul's team, but I think even the barunified ASR must be SP's idea...they wanted to get him nominated for best pati next year? Also, the reason why the remarriage happened and BFTP was thrown out of the window.
