22nd Feb
Getting slowly drawn back to DMG - it has started the kind of intense love story that I like. Riddhima has to marry Sid, no, she ends up begging him to marry her - the psychotic, hysterical, over-wrought girl has finally gone ... or has grown up. And Sid waits for her to ask him, he wasn't going to take the call, otherwise later she would again blame him.
Marriage takes place to the tune of 'hamesha tumko chaha' ... very apt. AR photo falls into the marriage fire - the final end of AR, a love story I loved for nearly two years, and have not the slightest regret to see ending this way! There was nothing more left in the AR story ... now this new one is intense, poignant and interesting ... and the best part is that both the actors are very good. Sid was excellent as the angry, bitter young man today - keeping his word, but furious at Riddhima's betrayal. And she knew it - her grief over Armaan's going was mixed with her guilt over what she had almost done to Sid.
Best scene - Riddhima, after the pheras are over, walks off, burns all her old photographs, and then turns to touch her new husband's feet. Only then does she return to take her parents' blessings. Again, no dialogues ... just expressions and an intensly poignant scene, beautifully acted.
Last scene - Sid will refuse to keep any rishta with Riddhima. YuNa continues - there is a story there too, although it has got a bit sidelined.

DMG today
8 Jan 2010
Didn't realise Tamanna had actually left - for once, cv's and my thinking in tune - she was the weakest actress and she and Sid were just not happening!
Pleasure to watch DMG again today - Jennifer without KSG is acceptable - I just don't think of her as the old Riddhima and she's a good actress - for once, Karan W has got a good actress as pair and they really rock! Was in splits - after ages I enjoyed a DMG episode! The acting of the old lot is so good - no wonder I never watched MJHT while DMG was worthwhile - they are far better!
Not that my favorite pair are any less - it's just the other two who are the pits - one in terms of acting and one in terms of story! At least now it seems DMG will be interesting and peppy for some time to come! Just wish RM and Anjali would also come back!

Getting better
7 december
DMG2 - getting better. The comedy scenes are good - all five are doing their parts well. Sid is still a bit OTT, but pulls it off. Yuvi and Naina have improved a lot in dialogue and expressions. Tamanna needs to get a life! Aniket Hindivala is good - he's so sweet, you feel sorry for him!

Cute today - DMG2
30th November
Today seems to be the day for funny episodes - DMG today was quite cute too. Liked the Tam-Naina interaction ... and the Sid-Naina interaction was too cute! Really nice humor and liked the way they both easily and happily acknowledge their crushes. I like Sid, though he does tend to overact a bit, Naina is becoming better and better, Yuvi is tolerable ... only Tamanna's dialogue delivery is still the pits! Now this is one Riddhima where I wouldn't mind a change.

DMG2 - could be so much better!
20th november episode
After all the fuss on the DMG forum about the YuviNaina scene, I finally decided to watch it.
Good scene, good ambience. Mediocre acting and poor dialogue delivery made what could have been a really good scene very average and nothing to touch the heart. Naina, plzzz improve your voice modulation and dialogue delivery - expressions are getting better but the dialogue delivery is still very poor and that takes so much away from the scene. Naina forces me to compare her to Gunjan, both have the same fair pretty looks, and Naina's character is close to what Sanaya is offscreen. If Sanaya was playing this, she would rock it! Again, the Yuvi-Naina story has great potential, but the acting needs to improve tremendously.
Sid-Tam - still not happening for me. As for the precap - WHY are they attempting to recreate AR? It's not working!

Atul
29th October episode
I loved Atul - this new serious Atul. The great thing about DMG which had us all hooked was that the acting of all characters was of a uniformly high calibre - KSG as armaan was of course the USP of the show, but even Atul, Rahul, Shubhankar, Keerti, Anjali, Muskaan and Sukirti's Riddhima - they were all fantastic. We craved AR scenes, but we enjoyed all the scenes with all the other actors - how I loved the Armaan Rahul interactions! I remember the scene at the water park where Anjali turns down Atul - we saw a serious Atul then and we all loved him. Got to see that Atul again yesterday - Pankit, take a bow! In a very Ekta'ish scene, you were so good!
Jiah - the actress who plays her - is good too.
The new lot - my opinion still stands - I can watch Yuvi Naina, JP is kind of ok, Tamanna is still unwatchable - though she seems to be finding her tongue. Didn't watch much of her scene though - she seems to be as unreasonabl as Shilpa was at the start. Wish Sid was paired with someone better.

26 Oct 2009
Saw half the episode - hmm, Yuvi Naina getting really up close and cosy! That was fast. Wish they'd act better, then the story might be more interesting.
Abhi Niki, Jiah - oh sooo Ekta-ish! Actually, I don't know why I say that - the original Sanjeevani, with Rahul, Juhi and Simran was also quite like this ... hero, heroine and vamp. So are they returning to their roots?
Breaking into Sid's house - bit of a yawn. Naina leading Yuvi on by cootchie cooing into the phone - hehe! That girl is cute - I like her spunk. Just wish (again) she was a better actress, but the Yuvi-Naina part is quite watchable.

What a fall, my countrymen!
Second article today - Karan not two timing, but three timing! Is the guy a sex maniac or what? Or has success gone to his head so badly?!
That really is the end of a beautiful love story and AR! How ironic that Armaan was so faithful to his Ridz, and was played by a guy who was anything but!

The last of Armaan Riddhima in DMG
Just read the tellybuzz article about Armaan and Riddhima not coming back to DMG, what with KSG's new show, movie and personal problems.
Hmmm .... haven't watched DMG since Sukirti left, for me AR died when she left although I did try to like Jennifer. But I couldn't and I found it surprisingly easy to quit - hehe, sounds like an addiction, which in a way, it was.
DMG 2 - Honestly I have tried to watch it - AR not being there was NO hardship for me, watching KaJen was the hardship!
On the one hand, I feel, good riddance to AR, and especially to Armaan. From all reports, the success of DMG seems to have gone to KSG's head a bit, along with his crazy female fan following, who are completely blind to his faults. From what the creatives say about his last minute cancellations, their necessity to insert flashbacks and body doubles is basically because of his unprofessional behaviour. Do I believe that? I do, to quite an extent - the CV's are not fools, they know their show runs because of Karan, and they must have been putting up with a lot from him because of that. Something must have been the straw that broke the camel's back.
On the other hand, there's no denying that if DMG made Armaan, Armaan definitely made DMG. I myself got hooked because of his acting and his alone - this was during Shilpa days and Shilpa's acting was nothing to write home about, though her chemistry was undeniable. It was Armaan and Armaan alone that was the pull. Besides which, the storyline also had a semblance of sense at the time - which deteriorated rapidly during the two months after Shilpa decided to leave, and then revived when Sukirti came in. And Karan did build up chemistry with Sukirti slowly and steadily, till their scenes were as rocking and wonderful, in fact more, that Shilpa's had been. Kudos to Sukirti too, for sticking to the role and doing it full justice in spite of all Shilpa fans - (whom I sympathise with to some extent, i felt the same way they did when Sukirti left).
So the creatives' attitude does seem unfair.
Why can't they replace Armaan? I for one, definitely wouldn't mind - for me to watch Jenni with another guy would be infinitely preferable to watching her with KSG - for me, AR are KaSu and watching Jenni with another Armaan would be like watching a new couple, which I honestly don't mind. Besides, she's quite a good actress.
I also don't mind watching DMG 2 with the new interns - but please - show a SEMBLANCE of sense in the story!!! NO doctors behave like that - from what I know, Sid is trying to be thrown out, but still!!!! Also, the acting needs to improve big time - so far Sid is watchable, Naina needs urgent voice modulation and toning down of her mannerisms, JP is okay.
Yuvraj is unimpressive so far but he has an interesting storyline and may improve.
Tamanna is - so far - unwatchable! Why does she have to look like she's going to cry all the time?! I hated Gunjan when MJHT started off because of that, stopped watching it - and came back to find such a beautiful character. Now I don't have the patience to do the same for Tamanna. If she improves, I'll watch - quite happily, because I don't miss AR.
Also, please stop trying to give us AR and the old characters back in new avatars. Give us some new characters. When Sanjeevani came back as DMG, everything was fresh and new - do the same again.
PS. Feel nostalgic for AR, old DMG and the good old blog. Those were good days!

DMG season 2
Watched DMG today after the leap.
Atul - a joy to watch, great actor!
Nikki - Abhi - nice, I was never such a fan, but they are watchable.
The new gang -
Sid - good actor, needs to tone down a bit, tends to overact
Naina - good expressions, reminds me of Sanaya in MJHT but needs voice modulation, which is Sanaya's main strength. Also needs to tone down her hair gestures, but I think she will shape up. She looks good so far and her character is interesting, perky and fun, can hold her own.
Yuvraj - hmm, wasn't impressed the first few glimpses, but watched a whole episode first time today - he may shape up. Nothing arresting though. His character again is interesting - hope he can do justice to it.
JP - okay, seems a good fit for his role.
Tamanna - the weakest of the lot, according to me. Needs to improve her expressions, her voice, dialogue delivery. As it is, she has the kind of character I don't like, that of a weak, ready to cry kind of girl, but her being Umar bhai's daughter is a good twist. Her character is a bit like Gunjan's, but Sanaya has done wonders with that role, so let's see if Tamanna can do as well. But needs to improve a lot.
Why, oh why, do all creatives on Indian shows HAVE to have a sati savitri kind of girl as a heroine? Especially in youth based shows, and even when they're educated doctors, for heavens' sake! I have seen docs from modest backgrounds at work - no one is like that! And you shoudl set standards and make role models for the audience! Make Tamanna strong and confident - go on! And unashamed of her background - then I will really appreciate her.
Almost forgot - precap - Yuvi saving Naina from gundas ... yawn ... haven't we seen this before?
