Hiding the baby and Dostana

22nd March

Continuation of slapstick humor - guys trying to hide baby - don't you know, it's impossible to hide a nine month old! They don't listen when you tell them to keep quiet, to sleep ... :D
Some dostana humour ... some cute one-liners. Samrat telling Nupur - tum mayank ke saath so jao, main chashmish ke saath so jaata hun! Nups changed her mind very quickly on that one - presence of mind!
Gunur in bed - Nups getting all hissy again, Gunjan trying to calm her down. Are those strange women's magazines all that Nupur reads? First how to seduce her husband, now how to tell if he's straying. Why doesn't she read some cookbooks, or how to manage the house on a tight budget? Too heavy?
Gunjan's expressions were very cute - oh no, there she goes again!
Kitchen scene - Gunjan getting suspicious. Midnight - baby wakes up.
Morning - guys try to leave, Gunjan catches them - again suspicious. Samrat is in trouble for sure.
Precap - college, girls find baby - aww Gunjan with baby :) New entry - baby's mom? And what's the realtion with Mayank/Samrat?
Some kind of story actually seems to be happening - whether it will be comic or serious remains to be seen.

Baby track

Analysis on episodes later - if I have time, but here are thoughts on the baby track.

WHY?
Where is it going? What is the whole point behind it?
Is it only a comedy track which will end on 1st April - in which case, viewers will be the biggest fools.

I don't mind comedy, I'm a fairly uncritical viewer of MJHT , as long as Samrat Gunjan are maintained (my main reason for watching), and as long as I get entertained by gang and MN nautanki - yes, MN are only for nautanki for me, I don't see any great love story there - I can put up with pretty much anything, however illogical it is - case in point, Gunjan's paralysis and recovery. I don't watch MJHT for 'inspiration', for social messages, lessons on life, I don't even watch it for moral policing - am far too old for a tv show to take care of my morals, and as for the younger viewers, their morals are their problem and those of their parents. But I do want some logic and sense in a story. Although the baby track is entertaining, I don't see ANY logic in the storyline - presuming there is a storyline at all.

WHy would five 19 year olds be so convinced that one of them IS the dad of an unknown baby?
Even if they were, wouldn't it be logical for them to start thinking about the mother and who she could be, rather than who's going to take care of the baby? For how long do they plan to take care of the baby? Till she grows up and tells them who her father is?
Are they not planning to do ANYTHING about finding out who the real parents are? Or at least the real mom? That would solve the dad problem, wouldn't it?
Why do they want to hide it from the girls at all? Okay, Mayank, agreed - his wife's a shrew and is already suspecting him of infidelity. But what about the others? Why should Samrat hide it from Suhani? She's his sister - he could confide in her. Or in Dia - her love story hasn't started yet, so she's not really bothered who the dad would be and she might be of help.

In other words, where is the beginning, middle and end of the story? Or is this just going to be a bunch of comedy scenes?
Just want to know ... if this is like a Govinda movie, with absolutely no head or tail, I'll watch it from that perspective and enjoy it. And I'll stop looking for logic - till now, all the tracks have had some kind of story thread, this one, I really don't see any.

Trust ... the basis for love

16th March

Disappointing .. or rather, after the really good epsiode yesterday, this let the momentum lag.
First scene - was supposed to be cute with Samrat thrilled that Gunjan had recovered, somehow, it didn't get the right feel. Uday was cute.
Next, Sam dancing with Dia, Benji jealous - cute! :) MN help Gunjan and Samrat's entire attention switches to her. The SG scene ... they TALK ... as though no one is around, as though all the pent up feelings have to spill out, she says, I was keeping you away but you never gave up on me, you even put your life in danger for me, he says, are you saying thanks? Do you need to say thanks to me? You always felt you didn't deserve me, but it's you who's done more for me ... and he lists it all, from exam, to Sheena, jail, hospital ... and today, I owe you my life ...

MN and others interrupt - and SG are so lost in their world, they don't even notice the others ... M's dialogue - that Samrat is quoting from his book, and Sam rat looks embarrassed, but Gunjan says - (and what beautiful dialogues hers were, straight from the heart) you might have copied the speech, but not the feelings, you call me Chashmish, so always remember, what I see in you, no one else sees.
As though telling him, that she knows and loves the real him, the one he hides from everyone else, the one who felt he didn't deserve her.

Next morning, all leaving, MN fight over what Uday saw. GuNur scene - loved it - the Gunjan part. Learn to trust your husband, you love him, he loves you, that's all that's really important. Loved how she's back to being so confident in her love - if he risked his very life for her, there's really not room for doubt now, is there.

And Samrat counselling Mayank - his dialogue, when Mayanks asks how do you know, apni girlfriend ko delh kar, use samajh kar, aur use paglon ki tarah pyar karke ...
Samrat really gets the best dialogues :)
Rest was all crap - Mayank manaoing Nupur. Movie - best seats etc, and Mayank checking his wallet. So much for supportive wife.
Then the sms from Adhiraj.
Precap - all the guys ... and the baby?!

Gunjan - shining star; Uday - honorable mention

15th March

Gunjan all the way! And HATS OFF to Sanaya again!!!

Starting from the first scene - Gunjan begging Samrat not to leave her - how does Sanaya manage to keep a straight face throughout this scene, especially when Mohit isn't even trying to hide his grin?! But she still manages to look petrified, scared witless ...

Outside the outhouse - SIGH ... infinite dreamy emoticons ... The love they share ...
She tells him to stay outside, he looks at her - she doesn't know it's all a prank, she's scared to death, yet she's ready to face whatever danger is there alone, just so that HE isn't in danger. She - scared, timid, weak Gunjan ... the bravest of them all. And then they hug ... for her, it's 'I don't know what will happen, I don't even know if I'll see you again', and for him it's an awed 'how can you love me so much? Our love will win, it HAS to win'
And that's what he says too ... if anyone can do it, you can ... and I'm with you, very close, always.

Outhouse and Uday ... If Sanaya was the scene stealer, Uday comes in for very honorable mention. This actor is probably the most underutilised in MJHT. He was fantastic as the possessed Uday, never once lapsing into his usual Dodo comic act ... menacing and threatening. What could have been a total farce, because the audience KNEW this was not a real ghost, became a completely believable scene because of Uday's acting and ... need I mention it ... Sanaya's. Her terror, her face, her voice ... "Uday bhaiyya, main Gunjan" ... trying desperately to get her brother out from the clutches of the fictitious thakur, trying in spite of her own fear.
I've said it before and I'll say it countless times again ... the emotion that Sanaya gets into her voice is beyond amazing - it transforms ANY scene from the mundane, ordinary, unbelievable to the most realistic and believable scene possible. Here again, the terror in her voice, and in her eyes showed how completely convinced Gunjan was that Uday WAS possessed, that Samrat WAS in danger, and that she had to try to do something, whatever she could to stop Uday.

Scene outside - Samrat Uday fight - Samrat gets knocked out for real and bulldozer on the way ... again, a simple often-repeated fairly cliched scene, transformed completely by Sanaya's acting, the emotions in her eyes, her voice, the frantic terror, the frustrated helplessness as she yells and shrieks for Samrat to get up, GET UP somehow ...
And then she finds her feet and runs ... okay, I wish she had fumbled to her feet, rather than almost jumped, and that she had stumbled a bit more when she ran ... but honestly, that was the only fault I could find with a scene which was totally expected, which I had dreaded to be as farcical as Nupur's fight with the goons ... and which turned out to be a scene where i was literally holding my breath ...

And the way Gunjan falls on Samrat and rolls him out of the way ... infinite dreamy emoticons again ... can watch just that bit again and again ...
And Samrat comes to, and his eyes look for her and only her ... and then at her legs ... she's standing - she did it, they did it ... freeze on their expressions ... I'm in dreamland again ...

precap - smiling Gunjan, smitten Samrat ... this couple is going to kill me!!! back to lovers and soulmates ... bring on any crappy track, I can jhelo it if SG are in this dreamy mode :)))

Plans and fears

12th Mar

Didn't really like the structure of the episode. I wanted a scene where Samrat carries her back to her room, and just an exchange of looks, even if they didn't talk ... an exchange that said you tried to keep your distance, I know why, but I also know you can't, and neither can I, so please don't even try.
Samrat thrilled that Gunjan moved her legs - but why is the whole gang together and no one with Gunjan? Planning to carry forward Uday's plan, Sayank talk with hotel manager (Samrat's dreamy "main" when Mayank asks kaun karega usse shaadi?) , phone call to Gunjan, Uday Benji take away wheelchair, MN chat with Gunjan, and finally the worthwhile part of the episode - SG talk.

Telepathy ...
Pehle tum chashme ke peeche chhupti thi, ab wheelchair tumhe mujhse door kar rahi hai. And that's why I want you to leave this wheelchair, so you can come close to me.
And she can't say anything now, the hug gave it all away, that she can't stand the distance between them either.
'I'm scared, not of failing, but of failing you ...' if I fail, if I don't get back on my feet, what will you think of me? As it is, she thought she was not worthy of him, if she fails at the one thing he wants so badly, then what? What will happen to her? To them? She knows she's up there in his eyes, will she fall in his regard, will he think the worse of her?
'I can never think poorly of you' ... she's his angel, how CAN she be anything but perfect, she will always be above him, someone he loves, adores, admires ... his guiding light ...
'If I need support, I know that you're the one who will always give me that support' ... here she's thinking she's the one who needs the support, and here he's saying that SHE will always be his support, she, wheelchair bound Gunjan - he needs her, not the other way around ...

Again, the dialogues are just beautiful, the emotions expressed showing the depth of feeling between them, the inability to even think of life without the other, the relationship so deep, so mutual, interdependent, the ties that bind so strong, that nothing can sever them, nothing can come between them or keep them apart for long ... like two halves of a whole, they manage to find each other time and again ...

And then the phone ... the plan starts ... will it succeed? Her fear ... for him, only for him ... No hints from sbs or tellybuzz ... this is obviously the main plot of the show, so well under wraps ...

Just hope it only kickstarts her walking, doesn't get her walking straight off - but maybe unrealistic to hope for such realism! And when will they talk about the marriage issue - now that it's obviously resolved in Samrat's mind?

Sajan Hug - Tapti ret par baarish

11th March

Uday and his grandiose plans - scare the wits out of Gunjan, she gets scared all right, and wheels herself desperately to find Samrat ... Samrat asks Uday what happened, and runs to find her ...

Gunjan frightened, the wheelchair falls, and she with it, and Samrat sees her ... he runs to her, but falls himself ... and she sees him.
IS HE HURT? She needs to go to him ... to see if he's all right, he can't be all right without her, he will need her ... and she forgets that she can't move, that she's been refusing to try, that her legs are useless, all she knows is that she has to reach him because he might be hurt ...
And he lies where he's fallen, staring at one thing only - her legs are moving. She's scrabbling frantically in the grass, trying to inch forward towards him ... she can't bear to see even a scratch on him ... she's almost crying in her frustration of not being able to reach him ... but she's trying, she's TRYING ... for the first time, she's trying with all her might ... and the joy dawns on his face ...
But she can't manage ... and he pulls himself together, and runs to her as fast as he can ... and holds her, just holds her tight, as tightly as he possibly can ... his Chashmish is back, the one who loves him more than anything else in the world, HIS Chashmish ... who asks him, almost sobbing "Are you all right?"
"Yes. I'm all right" ... he's all right, he's better than all right ... she's holding onto him as though she can't bear to let him go, and he can't let her go either, and they hug as though they want to melt into each other, be a part of each other, and never be apart again. As the parched earth gratefully receives life-giving rain, so do they cling to each other in a life-giving embrace.

BRILLIANTLY enacted by Mohit and Sanaya ... two minutes packed with emotions for a lifetime.

"Why aren't you trying? Why are you worried? I'm there with you ... today and always, then why are you scared?"
"No, I can't, I'll never be able to .."
"Who says you can't? The doctor says you can ... you just have to WANT to ... Try ... not for me, try for yourself ... I'll be with every step of the way."

"I can't walk". Was that a 'can't' or a 'won't'?
"Don't talk about 'hamesha' ... I know you wish me well ..." Wish me well??? What happened to 'I know you love me?' No, she doesn't believe it any more, and that's what's killing her still, holding her back, even if she does walk, what's the use? She's lost him, and with that, the will to even try again. And then the worst - a broken "Just leave me alone."
And he does. He knows she's hurting, hurting badly ... but he knows she's as stubborn as can be ... there has to be a way to reach her, he has to find that way ... to show her that he loves her as much as he ever did, if not more ... how is he to do it?

And then Nupur comes and sees Gunjan crying ... and tells her what she wanted to hear ... Samrat has done all this just for you, he's brought us all here only for you ... and a small flame of hope flickers ... "for me? It's not Nupur's honeymoon? Samrat has brought everyone here only because he thinks it might help ME?" Does that mean that he means what he's saying, that what happened between them on V night didn't destroy everything between them, that he still cares for her ... that she might not the burden she thought she would be?
She needs to talk to him. NOW. Right away. Only by talking, can they clear out everything ... till now, they have both been holding back, but she needs to let out her heart to him as always, to make him tell her what's in his ...

Words that pierce like swords

9th Mar

"Main ek baar iss haadse mein bahut kuch kho chuki hun. Mujhe us kami ka ehsaas baar baar mat dilao."

Her heartbreak on Valentine's night did what so much else had failed to do. Crush that inner core of strength. Rose day, Sheena, even the unheard confession to Samrat of her love ... that strength had kept her going all through. When Samrat seemed to repulse her love, she broke momentarily and fled back to Morena, but even then was able to face him with head held high, with her dignity intact. And then he confessed his love, and then proceeded to show it, to her, in front of all, wearing his heart on his sleeve, a kiss in front of all the college, romance galore, a date that stole her breath away and left her heart beating with emotions and feelings she ahd never felt before ... and then, tantalising promises of what was to come on the most romantic night of all, a night not only meant for all lovers, but a night which was special for them, because a year ago, that night had brought them together in a bond which they had then called friendship, but now knew was love, had always been love, a meeting of minds, hearts and souls.
But this Valentine's night was different. Last year brought two friends together, this year tore two lovers apart. And before she could even beging to heal her broken heart and shattered dreams, before she could gather those shreds of dignity and strength around her again, what she took for granted was taken from her ... her ability to stand tall, her ability to walk. A double blow, would this break her spirit?
On the surface, no. She faced the loss of her legs bravely, told her heartbroken sister not to pity her, but to love her, and faced her friends with a smile on her face, her tears hidden deep inside. There was one person she could have shown them to, but that person was no longer hers. He didn't want to be. Not in the way she had dreamed, had hoped, as her partner, her companion, her other half in their journey through life.
He tried to tell her differently. To show her that he was with her anyway, that he loved her as much as he did before. And when he heard that she COULD walk, he determined that she WOULD. For him, for their love, for them.
Then why does she feel the need to push him away? Because she's scared? She's still hurting? She doesn't know still where she stands with him? Or because she needs reassurance - in words as well as in deeds, that he's there, that after everything she's lost, she hasn't lost him. And that she's the same for him that she always was, she keeps pushing him away, but she wants so badly for him to come back, to SHOW her that he won't be pushed, that he's there always, she's been shattered once, she NEEDS that, she needs him to help her walk but also to tell her that it doesn't matter, if it takes a lifetime of trying, so be it ... because they HAVE a lifetime together, they have all the time in the world. It doesn't have to be today, tomorrow, next week ... he's there with her.

and he is going to try again ... and again ... because he loves her. It's as simple as that. He loves her, his life revolves around her, her smile, her happiness ... that's all he wants ...
"Kuch uski suno, kuch apni kaho, yuhi baaton baaton mein zindagi nikal jaye ..."
That's them, that's Sajan - just being with each other, talking to each other, listening to each other - they could spend a lifetime doing that. That's their world, their everything - if that is there, everything is there, if it's not, there's emptiness.

Gunjan's plan, Samrat's fight

5th March

SG - Gunjan giving up, Samrat fighting back. A clash of wills - not the first between SG, but the first time gloves were off, the first time Gunjan was the weak one and Samrat the strong, determined one. And the first time he treated her without kid gloves, his vulnerability about relationships gone in his surety about this one. He loves her, he knows she loves him and he will not let her give up without a fight. Even if it's HER he has to fight.

And Gunjan ... more and more his determination scares her ... after all, what is their future if she can't even walk? Earlier, when she was whole, she suffered from low self esteem, but now? It's at an all time low - she will be a burden on him, one he never wanted in the first place - earlier she could at least hope that he might change his views on marriage, but now, does she even WANT him to? If he changes now, it will be out of pity, out of guilt ... no, she cannot take that! He loves her, she knows he does, but has he thought it through what it will be like living with a paralysed girl? She loves him for his love, but for the sake of her love, she can't let him do what he's doing. She has to at least try to drive him away ... for his own sake.
I remember the story I read years ago where a boy and a girl were madly in love. The girl had an accident and lost her legs and the boy told her fervently that it didn't matter, they would be together forever. The girl, wiser, as most girls are, told him to stay away from her for a month, just a month. To go to all their old haunts, with their old friends, and imagine what it would be like to got here with her in the state she was in now, to have to help her in and out of her wheelchair or with her crutches all the time ... The boy agreed and stayed away for a month. She waited hopefully - she was as sure of their love as he was, and she knew he would come back and tell her it didn't matter at all, that he was ready for the commitment.
A month later, when he came back, she got the shock of her life. In a low, ashamed voice, he told her he had done what she had told him to - and he realised she was right. He couldn't live with a handicapped girl. Not for the rest fo his life. And he left - leaving her heartbroken.
I think the story ended there. No happy endings. It left an impact I've never forgotten. And I can understand Gunjan - again, this love story is far more mature than any college love story so it's difficult to even recognise the conflict of emotions contained within it, forget about understanding them. But her conflict is there, it's so clear ...
I don't like what she's doing - setting up Samrat with Dia, though. She's playing with the emotions of three people, one of them her own sister. But she thinks she's right, and like many people convinced that they are doing the right thing, she isn't willing to see a different point of view. And for once, Samrat is the more mature one - he's able to recognise what she's doing and why she's doing it ... and that's why he's prepared to go all the way to fight her for herself. My only wish is that he carries Dia with him, because it's not fair to see her get hurt in something that should only be between Samrat and Gunjan. And that's another reason why I feel Gunjan is wrong - involving someone else in her own private battle with Samrat. Though maybe she has to, she can't see any other way. No other boy on the horizon for her - none who would be able to play such a game, and definitely none whom Sam would allow within shouting distance of Gunjan ... even if she ever felt herself capable of attracting any other boy. And Samrat is showing no signs of being driven away, on the contrary, he's leaving no stone unturned to show her that he feels the same way about her that he always did, regardless of the disastrous valentine's night, regardless of her paralysis, regardless of everything. So she's at her wit's end as to what to do.

He's even apologised to her about Valentine's night - in a way that left her feeling that he really didn't understand how much it meant to her ... but he did understand, Gunjan, he did ... if you'd seen him during the time you were unconscious and battling for your life, if you'd seen his tears, his anguish, his terror of losing you, if you'd seen his breakdown when your ECG went flat - then you would have none of these doubts today.

The good thing is that all through the creatives have kept the Sam-Dia friendship intact - down to Dia recognising Samrat's feelings for Gunjan way back when she was herself involved with RV. This is one relationship they haven't messed with and I hope they don't do so now. So I really hope that either Sam makes sure Dia is kept out of this, and that she doesn't get hurt, or better still - he involves her, as she also knows about Gunjan's self-esteem problem and they work together.

The rest of the episode - AS discussing their love story compared to MN - romantic comedy! and SG - intense M&B (intense and MB don't really go together, but intense is definitely Sajan) - Uday wondering about something, MN usual nautanki - Mayank back to sadu grounded self, Nupur with hangover and one-liners - bhagwan, mujhe utha le - upar nahi, bistar tak ...

Canteen - Samrat thinking aloud and everyone laughing at his monologue - he is so lost in planning! Plans with mayank - M finally thinking about budget?! Resort trip - where Samrat doesn't want to let Gunjan out of his sight ... am going straight to dreamland with that one! Hope the recovery phase takes really, REALLY LONG!!!

Mayank convinces Gunjan for the trip, Samrat convinces Nupur. Do these guys have so many college holidays? Didn't college just re-open after the whole JD fiasco?

SAJAN ... omigosh!!!!

4th March

HOW CAN THEY DO THIS????

Who ... just WHO writes Sajan???? I can't decide whether to hug them, bless them for bringing this couple into my life ... or kill them for driving me so crazy! I'm actually reeling as I write this ... twice before have Sajan had this effect, once was Samrat's heartbreak, second was Gunjan's ... and tonight was ... what exactly was it? I can't call it love ... love seems far too small for what is between them ... the sea of emotions that is exchanged with every little look, every gesture ...

I thought Gunjan was the determined one, the strong one ... ready to do anything, but ANYTHING for the ones she loved,
but today ... Samrat ... oh my god ... does love like this exist for real? So powerful, so all consuming - his love is like a storm which will carry everything in front of it, it will carry away all her protests, her fears, her doubts with it, it's like an ocean, the depth of which can't even be fathomed, and it's like a gale which will sweep her off her feet and into his arms and his life, however much she tries to fight it.

And she IS trying to fight ... all her old doubts, her insecurities back in full force, head and heart engaged in fierce battle, one she recognises even as she gives in to the first one - that of putting color on him, because he will not let anyone else do it otherwise ... she knows what he's doing as well as he knows what she's trying to do ... because they KNOW, they just know each other, they can read each others' minds and souls. If ever I wondered why Sajan have such few dialogues at times, the answer was clear today ... who needs words when they can read each others' eyes, each others' minds, each others' hearts ...

So she tries again ... this time more bluntly - or as blunt as she can be ... don't change yourself for me, go away, I'll manage ...
and Samrat's expressions ... yes, he knows what she's doing, but he won't let her succeed, so another effort at lightheartedness - I won't risk your NOT being dependent on me, because then I'll be left alone ... and his look - now argue with that one, Chashmish ...
and I fell totally in love with Samrat - not "you're alone, so I want to be with you," but "I'LL be left alone" ... as though to tell her, if you're not there, no one else can take your place ... and no one will ...

But she's still fighting ... You're making me feel I'm a burden, go away ...
And he protests immediately ... tum bojh nahin ho, especially not for me ...
And she stops him in his tracks ... then prove it ... go away.
And oh god ... their look ... who needs words when their looks say everything, his says, I know what you're doing, but you can't do this to us, hers says, I have to do this not just for you ... but for me ...
And because he knows it's for her as well ... so he goes ... leaving her heart to curse her mind for making him leave when she wanted him to stay, then she recovers her determination ... and it's that determination that makes her try so hard ... and take her first slow, painful step on the road to recovery ... the first step, and the first fall ...

And his promise ... we'll make you walk again. We. Both of us. Together.

Next bit has left me totally incoherent so don't blame me if I don't make sense.

Angry Samrat ... needling gunjan, riling her, getting at her ... you CAN do it, but you won't even try ... all you want is sympathy ... and I'm not going to give you that.
And Gunjan - angry, riled up as he wanted her to be - Is that what you think? So of course she's ready to try anything ...
Even when she realises that was his plan all along ...
And that's the beauty of Sajan - she knows instantly that his anger, his scolding, his taunts - they were all just a show - to push her to reach exactly where she just did, to pull her out of her well of depression and self-doubt and so NO anger, no hurt feelings, just a determined 'okay, if this is what you wanted, let's try it'.

And they start ... and try ... and try again ... and again ... with him firmly behind her, beside her all the way, pushing her, encouraging her, supporting her ... till she falls and he picks her up so gently ... places her back on her bed as though she's made of glass ... And this time, her arms both go around his neck, the first time since the paralysis, the third time he's lifted her, but the first time that she let down the distence that has come up between them. Just momentarily, but her defences fall, her barriers are lowered, because she knows what he made her do - she's just not sure she can do it.
But he is - he's as sure as ever - and so tells her ... not never, Chashmish, just not today ... but tomorrow we try again ... because he knows, under that fragile exterior is steel, that inner core of strength which has been his support for so long, and now has to be her own ... he just has to reach that core and the battle is half won.

And the precap ... Samrat's determination - try what you like, I'm not going anywhere ... because I love you.
Samrat ... you totally deserve Gunjan - and I can't give you higher praise than that!!!

Edit: last scene - description - bedroom scene, two people, madly, deeply in love, sitting together on her bed ... so lots of romance, soft, sweet talks, love scenes, hugs, kisses - right? WRONG
Oh, so maybe it's a fight scene - they're fighting, so shouting, angry words, raised voices, sparks flying, tempers high, glaring at each other, both too angry to listen to each other's point of view - right? WRONG again.
So what was it? A show of anger where the love shone through more clear and bright than any romantic scene could show, an argument (can I even call it that?) where he pushed and pushed till she had to push back, and then he stopped immediately because that was exactly what he wanted, and expected ... because he knew her, her spirit, her stubbornness ...
a love scene where not a single word of love was spoken, yet love was there, palpably there in the atmosphere, the air was laden with it, all-pervasive, all encompassing ...
and a closeness which was far closer than the mere physical act of his holding her as she tried to walk again, it was a closeness of spirit, of minds and hearts as she leaned on him completely, trusting him to hold her and not let her fall, and to pick her up if she did ... and to give her the courage to go on ...
Because she can hide her fear and her weakness from everyone else, she can smile for everyone else, for her family, her sister, to give them courage and confidence ... but she can't hide them from him, and she needs him more than ever before, even as she tries to push him away.
She's thinking of his happiness, but he's only thinking about them, because for him, he and she don't exist any more - it's them.

Strong Gunjan

3rd Mar

Strong Gunjan all right!!! Withstanding those goons and JD would have been a cakewalk for you, compared to what you have to do now - withstand Samrat at his romantic, most charming, completely sweep-you-off-your feet best!!! How ... just HOW ... are you going to manage it? I was going week kneed watching him on my tv screen!!!

And Samrat is pulling out all the stops ... he loves her, he adores her and he is going to make sure that she knows what she means to him ... that she is his life and he cannot be without her. Her leaving him is not an option he is willing to give her, not for anything in the world, he knows he broke her dreams and he will pick up each and every piece and mend them and let the whole world know it.

Right from the start of the episode, when he takes over her wheelchair from Dia straight away, his lines 'mere rang mein rang ke meri meri si lag rahi ho' ...

and Gunjan trying her best ... she really is ... melting inside, but oh trying so hard - does she even remember why she has to keep her distance from him? Can she even remember that this guy ever broke her heart and her dreams when he is making it so very obvious that his heart only beats for her?

Best of luck, Gunji sweetheart! You're going to need every ounce of that will power and strength of yours - and this is one battle that I hope you lose! But not without putting up a good fight!

ROFL ending!!!!

2 Mar

Nups Gunjan scene was not bad, actually ... the way they kept on the phone - ONE sensible thing in the episode!!!! And the way Gunjan told Nups to go first to the police station and then to JD's press conference.

But after that ... ROFL!!! ONE handful of sand for how many men??? Kitne aadmi the?!!! And the kick in the groin for Yash ... now that one they should have emphasized :D
And the last bit ... TOTAL ROFL ... Yash and his goons didn't realise they were at his bro's press conference!!! And the gang watching were getting all excited ... nobody noticed that Nups was all fainting away?!
WHAT A PATHETIC END to what could have been a good track!!! Ah well ... after the TB Rati article I had already predicted something of the sort ... though I thought they might carry it to Wednesday ... just another couple of days or maybe till the end of the week might have helped ... then again, if this was the way they ended it ... maybe not! ROFL!!!!

And NO MN/GN scenes after the bad guys get sent to jail?! This was like just TOO much of a hurry!!! Looks like Rati was really keen to go back home!!!

Anyway, nice to the gang planning Holi ... loved the SG flashbacks of last year ... and the two conference calls were cute! Looks like MN romance is taking a major back seat - are, they're still newly weds - they're talking like they've been married years and years!!!
Am looking forward to the SG Holi parts now.

ROFL or UGHHH!

So they're wrapping up the political track early due to viewer feedback. Felt that one and a half months would have been far too long, but the way they were going last week was very good and made me believe that the girls, chiefly Nupur and Gunjan would have strong roles to play, and I was quite happy about that. So the news that they're wrapping up quickly has left me with mixed feelings - particularly as Nupur will be the main heroine and Gunjan will be sidelined yet again.

And this time my objection is not only because Gunjan is my favourite. It's because there WAS a message to be got across - that victims of eve-teasing can also stand up and fight back, even if they are are weak or timid as Gunjan - and I think cv's have lost a golden opportunity in delivering this message. At the least, Gunjan could talk to the media and give her statement - along with some questions - if Valentines' day celebrations are against Indian culture, are eve-teasing, acid attacks and rape a part of Indian culture? Are we to passively accept them and not fight back? Is this the message being passed to the youth of today - that to celebrate friendship and love is uncultured and 'ashleel' while to accept rude and vulgar remarks from strangers, to accept that girls today are unsafe travelling to work and study, is acceptable and is a celebration of the supreme self-sacrificing nature of Indian womanhood? Such hard-hitting questions, especially if asked in Gunjan's soft firm tone could stop anyone in their tracks.

I am glad that it is Nupur, and not Samrat or Mayank, who is leading the fight. But I am unhappy that Gunjan is not adding her voice at all. Unless she does in the next couple of days as they wrap up.

And UGHHH ... the latest article on Rati - that she has wrapped up things in her trademark style - with running and shouting under the hot sun ... means that the finale will be dramatic, over the top and completely filmy and unbelievable. Another lame end to what promised to be a decent track. Why do creatives listen to audiences when they shouldn't and not when they should?

Edit: after episode - as I expected, Nupur running under hot sun, runs into barn ... for heaven's sake girl, use your brains, DON'T run into closed place! Stay in public! Early part of episode - good part, the way the guys talk to the police and stay peaceful while getting beaten up - munnabhai? or RDB? Didn't like - Gunjan panicking and sending Nups out - for once, she's lost her calm and her usual good sense. Would have thought it would be the other way around - Nupur wanting to go but torn at leaving Gunjan alone. Oh well, G's entitled to panic, I guess. Hospital scene, okay - a touch of humor was needed. Media scene - :( Have no expectations from this track, so waiting for wrap up.
