It was a given that Khushi was going to gatecrash the party ... it wasn't even a question :)) So she does, with equally frazzled sis in tow ... must say, whatever negotiations Deepali had with the PH were better than the DB ones ... Payal has more of a role and stays within character as a sensible, concerned, loving and sometimes impatient older sis.

I loved the way Payal scolded Akash, Akash tried to scold her back and then meekly went off with her ... poor Akash, first Bhai, now Biwi ...he doesn't stand a chance!
Loved the way NK pushed Khushi towards Arnav's room, and then disappeared with the waiters for the rest of the evening ... presumably this was all set up by Arnav as he knows his pagal biwi very well, and knew she would land up sooner or later, when she learned what a bachelor's party was all about :)

The song ... quintessential Khushi ... trying to be sexy, not managing very well ;) ... going into her trademark Khushi steps, recovering ... loved the fact that they kept the klutzy cute pagal Khushi, whom Arnav has fallen so hard for ... all mixed up with the beautiful sexy yet innocent one ...
Loved that little interlude on the bed when they fall and she tells him she would kill any woman who comes anywhere near him, and his very satisfied smile ... the happiness in his face to see the same possessiveness in her that he feels ...
Loved, loved, loved the star gazing ... our old shiddat for a star gazing scene fulfilled so beautifully ... loved the shot of their heads against the night sky ... her initial slight discomfort and hesitation ...then he switches on the projector and the stars dance into the room, across the roof ... her hesitation disappearing in the joy of the beauty of the scene ...

Thoughts:
A completely beautiful Arshi interlude ... can't call it just a scene or scenes ... a meeting of minds, hearts and souls ... an emotional, almost spiritual union, such was its purity ... a meeting of two lonely people, a boy turned man far too soon, an orphan girl alone despite a loving family ... both found their other half and vowed to never let go.
He knew she would gatecrash his 'bachelor party' the moment she learned what it was really all about ... there was no party, it was all a set up. Wouldn't be surprised if Arnav had made sure that Payal gave Khushi the details, to ensure she changed her mind about her generosity in giving Arnav and the boys some time to 'relax' :))
So Payal duly informed Khushi what really happens at these parties, loved her line - 'you really think these boys will sit and play Antakshari? I sing with pa, you sing with ka?' :))
Khushi of course furious at the thought of any other woman getting remotely near her Arnavji ... when she couldn't bear to see La getting close to Arnav when she was supposed to be engaged to him, how could she stand any random girl near him? Not happening ... and he knew it. Or rather, he hoped so ... he wanted to see her jealous, see her burn at the thought, the way he burned any time any other man even took her name or looked at her.
And Lucknow Express Khushi gate crashed as expected, with willing sister in tow - Payal only to happy to extricate her own husband from the den of vice :)
Loved the little Payash interaction ... Payal was always a picture of banked fire in GH, she lost her spirit and character completely after marriage ... good to see it back as she pulled a guiltily sozzled Akash back home by his collar with the typical wifely words 'Come back home and I'll take care of you,' ... not in a TLC wifely way!
Khushi-NK-Payash ... always good to watch ... an enraged Khushi and Payal together tackle NK, Payal carries her husband off in double quick time, and Khushi returns to a very cutely sozzled NK ... how dare you, I thought you were my well-wisher! And gives up hope of getting any sense out of him ... so get to the point, show me where my husband is and you can disappear!

Khushi charges into Arnav's room ... small blooper - she saw his shadow with a mannequin, when she charges in, he's lounging comfortably on the bed :) and surprised to see her ... wasn't he expecting her?
And he watches with a completely amused expression as a seething Khushi rummages around the room, under the bed, behind the curtains ... where has he hidden the woman?!

I think what happened last night, it was a moment for Arnav to recall when his innermost wounds are opened how she gave herself to him mind, heart, body and soul all because of love.
He pulled a Salman Khan for her, but she who had spoken of marriage and principles, set it all aside for their love. She did something very unlike Khushi's nature because she wanted to - like he has been doing with all the rituals.
Well pregnancy even if it happens is not happening for at least 2 to 3 months. More ways to keep the story interested and going immediately.
That precap and G and Buaji expressions is what is being conflicting of course could be as simple as Khushi's parents shraaad.

DeleteBoth will be unable to stay away. That is the beauty of the story now is it not. He will be shattered when teh truth hits him, adrift but then like the night when he wished she had neevr come into his life, a moment will happen when he will realize that without her there is no him.
She may be led to believe he will not turn up or again her trust will falter ans she will walk away only to be reminded of how he asked her never to leave him and she will turn back.
They both will meet to yell at the other for hurting, apologize only to hug and declare that they will always stand by each other. And then they will take the pheres before the one person that matters above all to Khushi - Devi Mayya

I think Dadi will tell him, he will go out for a drive or wil be in the room, one side is his mom and the other side is his khushi, after the forced marriage and con and the fact that she almost died for him, he will marry her out of duty till he calms down, she will sense that he is trying to distance himself from her and eventually will come to know the truth and then will walk out after a heated argument about their mothers.

The very fact that K did not look at DM and say,"Humein maaf kijiye DM"- I did not think it was anything more than a kisss up until they showed DM and then, I was like:"Please don't tell me she is going to say they did it or even apologise for the kiss. Gullll...I'll killyou"- and thankfully none of it happened.
What happened happened and it is a beautiful memory she is not ashamed of.
There was no need for them to rush into big C now, since in thier mind all is weel and they're having the pheras soon. I acn guarantee you, ASR will honour that agreement. If he rushed her NOW, this is a Kekta serial, which it is not.

DeleteLovely post and storyline but frankly it may be TRP suicide..From my point of view it is Khushi's sunny nature, her positive attitude and the happiness she spread around that makes me tune in to IPK at the end of a stressful work day over a cup of tea..
Take that away and it would be too depressing a show to watch for me..I cannot stand the thought of watching a deflated , broken Khushi..will not be able to watch it..
People like to see good triumph over evil, not just a continuous tale of good paying the price of being good...atleast that's what I think..

long ago, i thot it would go that way but the story took a diff turn....but i agree the situation is so poised that it could just be that....
everyone talked of Arnav's RTR, somehow i wouldnt be surprised if Gul makes her hero do something like this and frankly its not about RTR anymore....there have to be obstacles in the path...and many of those shown on screen so far have been cliched ones so....this could be a different path....
But i really like the way the story is perched at the moment

I watched and loved Abhimaan in a time when I was also big on art films , realism...and I used to wonder why my mom only wanted to watch happy films , romances with closure - I am at that phase now- aaj kal tragedies nahin dekhi jati - Films/TV are an escape from the stresses of daily life :)

DeleteI was thinking more like 50 First Dates but not such short term loss either - no depressed Khushi.The one thought she holds onto, a passion filled night with her husband and waking up on her wedding day thinking of being married to him.
Nani keeps calling Dadi Sumi, and I thought of this scene n Devdas when Kirron Kher Paro's mum confronts Dev's mum and tells her that her daughter has been sent off on silver coins but now she will see the destruction of her son. Soon she will become deaf, mute and blind unable to hear his lament, or answer his queries and unable to see him in the abyss she has pushed him into.
Dadi wanted Arnav's happiness, she will now need to sit and see him bear the pain of being away from Khushi. But yes..humeshaa tumko chaahaa
I know the story is so well poised. I have not seen the epis in the recent past, only read written updates. But when I read today's this thought came t me and I shared it here.
Ironically, we always say life never gives us a rwind button but when a person forgets, it is like you get a second chance you earn with that person to reweave new memories.
P.S: Upcoming 2 weeks are gonna be gruelling so I may not be here often. Take care all you girls and huggs :)

Pata nahi but I read of Deepal's exit and today felt shaayad there is going to be a car accident, a scene like in Vivaah when the groom on his wedding day is signing surgery papers for his wife and the lives of 2 families are scattered all over again.
The serial began with a wedding stopped and a scattering of pearls, it will take a turn again with a wedding stopped and lives scattering just like those white pearls.
Khushi is now the confident woman Arnav has made her and if she thinks ASR is a stranger, it might eventually become like Saawaariya where she waits for Arnav but befriends ASR.
Khushi chooses to live life on her terms henceforth because of her trust on her husband come what may. And a possibility that she goes back to work for AR.

DeleteWhen i said the story is ideally perched, its only becos the one aspect that remains unresolved in their love story is the effect of Arnav and Khushi's linked past.....(okay, i am not talking of n other unresolved aspects in the IPK story that are somewhere in the black hole)
When a person says I can't live without u and so many other things....its a platitude unless situations actually bear u out..i am not being cynical, just saying that in A_K story, A's closure with past is extremely central to the story....and frankly how does one really get that deliverance from a bitter past....
there are ways and ways.....
one way is for Khushi to be by his side (without any complications) helping him tide over the bitterness....becos at the base is their love for each other.....while this is a scenario that pretty much practical and truer to life, it will be still very diffi to translate on screen given the constraints of TRP, drama quotient etc.....
The other is the one that is woven by Sandy....becos of one very important thing that i see that very clearly in her scenario...I asked above how does one get deliverance from a bitter past....in a cinematic sense when the idea of a more grievous present confronts u.....when u realise that past is past and where it belongs, that u cannot do anything about the things that have gone by,much less on what u have no control on, but yes the present is very precious........I so much agree with Sandy that one needs to walk away from the shadows of the past.....to be able to live out a present.
Questioning whether it has to be done dramatically or not is another matter....Sri, when i said don't give up, i meant it becos an important part of the tale is yet to come up..., that of Arnav accepting that the past belongs in the past. Having said that, i am not a big fan of the pregnancy angle and to me that is the stupidest way to go about it, when u r creatively bereft, u can do that....I like the surreal aspect that Sandy describes above.....if the makers pull it off in that fashion..it has the potential to be a highpoint in this romantic tale...I liked the potent mix of Devdas, sawaariya in Sandy's thots....
However, as Mona puts it, one can also take yesterday as the perfect end to a love story where the happily ever after is episodes interspersed with pain and pleasure like in any life....
Btw, I loved Abhimaan, becos of the music principally but also the thought was the pain of a loved one is more unbearable than the slight to ur own ego......but again that was a dramatic solution....hardly a situation that be used as an example to explain equality of stature in a relationship to egoistic spouses......
Personally, if this goes the Kekta way, i am off IPK too....

Arhi has come together now like a typical love hate relationship where the protagonists realise they are in love. Yes, they've known it for sometime now.
What are the next hurdles in the love story- family acceptance.
These two had it easy there, all along, but now if the families turn against their union, yes Sandy said about Buaji putting her foot down- I am really expecting a track like that- where someone from K's past (The Kumars, Parde ke peeche kurta nashi hain)- someone who has been at the receiving end of the Malliks' unkindness in the past- wants her to have no relationship with this guy. Like Suman's father in Maine Pyar Kiya- definitely hoping not to see a lumberjack ASR...just the idea.
I don't know whether to expect it now, there is too much BFTP from one side now.

DeleteReading your comment had such a dreamy feel to it. The first thot in my mind - Sapnon ki duniya main rehna hi accha hai kyunki asli duniya main sirf dil tootte hain.
Khushi has managed to bring back an Arnav who was so stuck on the one night his life fell apart that he could not really focus on the one night when things began to fall back in place for him. How poetic it would be to see wait go the reverse way?
As for Khushi's mind forgetting, did Arnav suffer memory loss or did it go into lock down about events of that night 14 years ago?
Khushi has a tendency to go away, to leave. Arnav knows of it and hence his need for repeated assurance and promises. Somehow, this time even if he is delyed, I do not see Arnav ditching / jilting Khushi. But Khushi is going to slip and run away but finally realize that running away is never an answer and then she will come back to him - his heart where her home is.
Pregnancy - well I said above to, IF it happens it is a while away as that in itself should be a potent piece and perhaps not to be mixed with the past (saw the epi just now and that last scene seemed like a kiss and heavy duty making out to me for now).
Funnily I again thot of the paymaana dialogue from Devdas Rekha. Arnav's mind was so full of angst at his mother having chosen to leave him / perhaps breaking her promise that he could never see beyond that (a kind of lockdown) but then Khushi came into his life and kept pouring her love in and over time along with her love the angst spilled and washed away making way for the happy thoughts hidden beneath the angst to surface.
"Raat taaron bhari na mile toh, dil ka deepak jalaana padega.."
And that is what Arnav did today. The stars scene made me go back to that day when Mami was spying on them and he put on his mum's kangan faking his affection and telling her how they would spend a night under the stars by the poolside counting stars. Today they indeed spent a night under the stars counting the only 2 that mattered to both and he took off a kangan that was put onto Khushi by a person showing fake affection.

After seeing the episode, all I can think of is The Notebook, Forever Today, Tere Naam and the raven from Mistress of Spices, Hiding a face behind a sehra and asking his love to wait for him - the DDLJ mehendi song.

Khushi would never be the delusional Anjali. I would think it would be the fieriness within her that will make her go on lockdown - a conflict between having trusted him , knowing he would not break her trust, knowing their love and need for each other and yet her ego at being made to wait for him.

DeleteDon't get me wrong..I love the poetic reversal stuff too especially since I was not satisfied with ASR redemption in the first place :) Let him work a little harder - jo cheez aasani se mil jaye uski kadar nahi hoti :)
But reading that poetic reversal and angst in a novel or a 3 hour movie is different from watching it play out over weeks/months - it is more emotionally draining if we get involved in the story..and that is why it turns the audience off ..
Like the MU track - 6 months was not unreasonable in realtime for it to play out but the audience lost interest, TRPs sank...same with the separation track now - especially now that the C carrot has been handed to the audience..
The analyses on R&R is actually more interesting than the episodes -all of you girls rock

DeleteNothing to be taken wrong. And yaar dont call this my plotline. I am more about the emotions and how things get closure because unlike in real life, reel life allows every big moment to come full circle.
And yes I am with you about depicting it (which is what Rekha said earlier). Just moving away, or forgetfulness, anything as long as the plot and the depiction convince, it will be ebautiful where these 2 characters are concerned.
And yeah, I agree that the girls here have woven magic with words elevating the magic on the scene for some of the earlier epis.
For now, I guess Khushi moving away from Arnav when she is appraised of the truth by Dadi perhaps will be the highlight - she breaks her promise to never leave him and for that he will be angry with her.
And I have been thinking about how they will show us a recall of the earlier proposal - You have to marry me, today, now....And Arnav at GH saying (when Khushi faked that leg hurt) Aa uthaakar le jaa raha hoon, zarorat padi toh ghaseetkar bhi le jaaonga...

And yeah there are butterfly fishes! In th wild they are found in reefs but also make great aquarium fishes.

This much is clear to me.
Because, when she is startled as he makes his advance, he makes it clear, "Khushi, I respect your sentiments regarding this" and she relaxes completely.
As he takes off her bangles, he tries to reassure her once again, but she has full faith in him, she gets where he wants to take them, tells him she knows exactly what is on his mind, which is the most sensuous kiss in the whole of telly world.(Wouldn't mind saying the whole world, because it was a dream. And if the PH waited this long to give it to us, now we know why. It had to be perfect.)
This could've happened during diwali, in the hut, after kidnap or during any of the rasams.
But they waited this long - first they had to bring out the trust these two have to the absolute peak- for ASR it was emotional barrier and for Khushi who blindly trusts him, it was a giant leap in physical proximity. And it had to happen at a time when he'd beg her not to leave him and she'd not shy away from him.
So, all this foreplay we had during the rasams was leading to this one PERFECT kiss!

I am very very happy today. I never complained about any one of those incomplete kises, each attempt in itself was sensuous. Even those attempts surpassed by miles the real kiss or consummation scenes in any other show, kudos to Sanaya- Barun chemistry (and the team).
But it was my secret wish that if there is going to be a separation now, these two should part with a kiss.
I did not catch the excuse ASR gave for not getting her under the real sky, but the very fact that this most awaited first kiss happened under the projected image...I feel this was meant to be an illusion of happiness. If it was a bearer of glad tidings, it would have happened on the terrace under the starry night.That was the only IMPERFECT thing about the kiss, it had to be so, probably for the symbolism.
What I am writing here is what I really wanted to write about, since the kiss will be dealt with much better by all of you fantastic writers.

My first impression was- good that i had expected comedy, it turned out to be exactly that.
In fact, I thought it was mindless comedy, until after I got over the shock and awe of the kiss thought with a clear mind- Yippeee...even that was perfect.
1. Payal- K confronting Akash- NK:
First watch, I thought "what a phony scene? It looks like RM and there is no one else for the Bachelor party?' Of course here was no bachelor party, when you know that you can appreciate that scene better.
2. ASR- K convo: Aaaaahaaaa...ASR gives K a glare and she is momentarily confused- he is totally miffed that she'd think so low of him after all that had happened. Great scene- exactly as it should be.
3. ASR whispering in her ears and K backing off to which he calmly tells her- "No pressure" and he means it...absolutely.
4. The dance: On first watch it confused me. It was comical and ASR seemed to be avoiding her when she was doing it own his demand.
Later I realised, OFC, it had to be comical. Khushi cannot do an out and out sexy number when she has so many strict principles regarding marriage. The only way they could circumvent that was this alternating between sensuality and comedy.
So, she did all the sexy antics that item girls do, but ended up really enjoying the song when she put the tapori steps. ASR was not disappointed, he moved away at first, thinking she was pulling his leg and then he realised she was merely being her mad self, totally enjoying it. (And that opening scene when he was hypnotised by the beauty of his soon bride- to -be. )
5. The cream on the cake for me: A TRIUMPHANT ASR , happy about having brought out the jealous, passionate lover in his biwi!-as K elaborates on what she’d have done to the chudail- the only thing I had asked for today!
So, all in all, a perfect perfect episode.
I really hope no one in any corner of IF is complaining, and if someone is, I hope the CVs will not get to see that. Man, I got depressed reading redux yesterday, I can imagine what it'd do to these guys!

Some disconnected thoughts- really disconnected.
I was watching Khushi’s B’day episode y’day and I realized.
God! This guy has come a long way from then.
Then, he could not say Happy Birthday, could not say sorry.
Trust, he had learned long time back, ever since he knew he had misunderstood her.
And from then, he has known that he is the only man in her life.
Now, he has LET GO- of every negative outlook he had.
She connects with his thoughts so easily, does not let him admit his love for her in private, yet she demand a public declaration- all in jest- and he concedes.
Bitwa has been through a lot of trust building exercises- getiing the ideal b’day present, embracing tradition for bitiya’s sake and last of all, trusting her enough to take her to his mother- the ultimate test of his trust in her- that he can share his past with her- he has given Khushi the key to the locked room.
All in all, Arnav knows the depth of his love for Khushi and the completeness of the love she has for him. He trusts her, yet he has to say, “Trust me, Khushi”.
Contrast this with the growth in Bitiya’s trust:
She knows she loves him. She knows she does not love anyone more than him.
And she knows he loves her. Therefore, she completes him everytime he tries to express his feelings…almost like, ‘I know your feelings. I also know you’ve difficulty expressing those kind of things, let me help you out.”
But look at her actions:
1. Leaving for GH and refusing to return inspite of ASR asking nicely and driving him to use force- ‘I know what is best for you, I don’t care about me’
Now she has learned to appreciate that he loves her- especially after he agreed to go through all the rasams for ‘her sake’
2. ‘What have I done for him’: It is like that dream, where ASR hands out money and K feels the burden of his generosity. He has done so much for me, what have I done for him? Bitiya is left with the feeling that she is taking too much from him, when she is the one who has given so much for him.
3. Waiting one whole night to discuss getting Shyam back. Why? Because she did not trust his judgement? I guess, we can look at it in different ways, but ultimately, isn’t she saying, ‘I am seeing something which you can never see- it is not in your nature. So, you have to trust my judgement.” Isn’t that why she boldly went ahead with the decision. And she apologized, for not confiding in him, still believing she made the right decision.( regardless of who was right or wrong there)
4. Childishly blabbering about ‘mehendi rang nahi laayi’- though this one I will account for as part of her ‘sanak’
5. “Yeh ladki kya cheez hai”: she does not cease to surprise him- ever!
6. Khushi always putting the distance btn them physically whenever he has come closer.
7. She wants to return every favour- bachelor party for Salman Khan act-….this is the thought I am stuck on…It is the second time she tried to return a favour when she is not the one to do the favor- Does K not know that you don’t have to reciprocate each and everytime in love- it is not give and take- she should not be taking his love as an act of benevolence towards her- yes, this is the thought I started with and this is the part that confuses me- he has told her repeatedly, yet she cannot control it-

THE KISS was an exception, I feel. Through that convo, she realized how they BOTH needed each other, how thay are incomplete without each other. If there was anything more left for Arnav to say about him being crippled without her (after the roses, kurta, rasams, taking her to the garden where he nurtures his mother’s memories), he said it all yesterday.
So, onto the future, I really don’t know why Gul brought the story to this exciting crossroads, I cannot IMAGINE what she is thinking.
All I can say is, for separation to occur now, one of them has to STOP THINKING.
One of them has to make a quick, kneejerk reaction for the other…and start running?
And if any one among them has to be angry, I’d prefer it to be bitwa, because this track has been all about him trying to build her trust in him and if she acts sanak again, I agree with Bitwa,,”I swear, if Khushi has run off again…”. I hope he runs after her again. There, I seem to have only one solution always…What is Gul thinking?

I've beeen racking my brain trying to remember when they did this before- sometime in the recent past, I think when they showed a promo and it did not happen in the show...or I am plain confused.
Anyway, if the promo is still on, the show is not hijacked!
I loved the seduction as well as the night sky scenes for the sheer innocence and purity these two bring to a love scene, much like the holi scene. For a scene where the couple are sizzilingly hot and at the same time retain that childish purity is remarkable. Khushi wanted to please Arnav by doing a seductive number she really isn't comfortable in. Arnav can see that and tries to ease her through his smiles. He was there to catch her when she tripped every time she stretched herself beyond her limits. She feels so comfortable in his presence as he smiles at her amateurish attempt to be the ultimate seductress, (the girl can make him go weak on the knees with just her innocent wide eyed looks, no need to act the sex bomb), that she breaks into an impromptu tapori which is misplaced in the song, making his smile broaden. It is only when they trip and fall together on the bed that the heat gets really turned on and he asks the purpose of her visit. Learning that she is as possessive about him as he is, he smiles in satisfaction and takes her to the little fantasy world he is made for her.
ReplyDeleteI simply loved the night sky scene even more so after he explained why he got it done. He mentioned that he couldn't do it in their own house (a reference to all the hurdles they have there to get a private moment together) and here he wanted to take her to the terrace but the dark clouds had gathered (a reference to the gathering storms of the past around them). So he recreates the sky in all its glory inside the house ( a reference that he will strive to cocoon her from all outside forces which may threaten to tear them apart - the alag duniya he referred to in the Heer Ranjha scene where only the two of them reside). So is there some hope there?
Khushi is amazed at his creativity and wonders how he can come up with something so beautiful. He tells her that whenever she thinks of her parents and pauses. The unspoken thought was that she can look at them - day or night, clear sky or cloudy sky. He will always 'respect her love for her parents', both living and dead. Will that also translate into 'his own respect for her parents', particularly after the 'truth' is revealed?
It is pertinent to note that he points to his 'star'mom and right next to her her 'star'mom. A man who did not believe in stars now not only believes his mom, whom he was closest to, has turned into one but also that she is close to her mom. An ominous statement considering what is in store for them. Once he comes to know of G's role in his mother losing her life, would he be able to take it, considering her mom was G's sister? Would their parents' closeness or otherwise affect their own closeness?

DeleteThat star scene was special to me because one day by the road side this man in his hurt and anger had lashed out at her saying it was good her parents were not alive to see her today after what she had done. And today he not only made sure she could have her parents around even if the skies were gloomy but placed them next to his mum thereby in a way saying that not only they but even his mum would have been very happy to see the woman she had become. And she answered his Qn from long ago about how his mum as well as hers would be happy to see him, see them. (did she not tell Garima long ago at Preeto's wedding about how Arnav was the world's best husband who would get her stars and the moon if she so much as thought of it, well today he had done it without even her having to ask) :)

ReplyDeleteKhushi is moved to see the trouble he had taken to recreate heaven on earth for her sake and cuddling up to him she wonders aloud what they may be saying to each other. She then proceeds to answer her own question that they must be telling each other how lucky their children are to find true love. This time he wonders how she knows that theirs is indeed true love. She cites two examples, one each for the two of them. His love is true because every tear of hers hurts him a thousand times and he admits that it does everytime. Yes, Arnav was hurt by her tears even when he thought the worst of her. She goes on to say she knows that her love is true because when he went away from her....she couldn't complete her sentence and reveal all her pain but her emotions were there for him to feel and he kisses her forehead acknowledging that love. She recounts their telepathic conversation and he admits that they are a strange couple indeed.
Seeing the love in her eyes, he tries to get close to her and inadvertently shuts of the projector. Good for them because I guess the private and intimate moments which followed were best if kept just between the two of them and not witnessed by any one,not even their parents. As he gets closer to her, she shuts her eyes, her face revealing her anticipation as well as apprehension. He quickly withdraws and apologises for his urgency and says that he understands that she is uncomfortable about these things preceding marriage. She assures him that she trust him and his love.
Arnav is encouraged to reveal his heart with all its vulnerabilities to her. A man who believed that he made his own destiny, that he was always right, that he is in control of himself and others, finally admits that his life was incomplete before she entered it. Something important was missing in it. He asks her to promise that she will never leave him because he cannot live without her.
She answers by planting a kiss on his cheek and then leans in to study his eyes before kissing his scarred left eyelid. I felt the director made good use of Barun's scar in that scene. It was as if to say that Khushi's love would be the balm that would heal his old scars. (she could also be kissing away the tears glistening in his eyes but I prefer to look at it more as a kiss on the scar).
With this poignant display of love and affection from her end, Arnav couldn't hold back his desire any longer. He slowly removes her bangles and kisses her arm where the shaadi ki mehndi ends, a sign of his desire to consummate their relationship. To him they are already husband and wife and the act of intimacy was the natural culmination of the overflowing love between them. She gives her tacit consent when she flings her arms around him, embracing him in a tight hug. He responds by inching his way to her dori and untying it. After another kiss on her forehead he stops to make sure he can proceed. If she had even shown the slightest hesitation then, he would have backed out for her happiness was paramount to him. She softly whispers that she knows (what is on his mind) pulls his head closer to her to accept his kiss which has been long pending.

Rekha, you wondered about the fish around them. I think it was to give the effect of an ocean, given the blue flooring. They were lying in the ocean bed on a white furry sheet (the open shell of an oyster?) Arnav, the ocean, has finally taken Khushi to the depths of his being to discover the precious core of his being that lies within. With all inhibitions from both their sides removed, his emotional reticence and her physical reticence, they finally became one. His statement that she was his wife and his mother's bahu at his secret garden has already fortified their relationship as a married couple, if not in the eyes of society, in each other's eyes. So this was in essence their suhaag raat.

If you are referring to Geet, it was obvious there for me.
He asked her a question through his eyes, they were already married(?) and she gave the answer and they proceeded.
Now, if it was just for a hug or kiss, he needn't have asked that question with his eyes there- I thought it was clear the consummation had taken place- I watched the video when someone had posted a link during the hut scene and was surprised that Maan and Geet were not as advanced as Arhi, despite it being Star one!
On yesterday,
ASR has held back from the day she made it clear that phere is important for her. He has not refrained from teasing her, and from that day has been trying to claim that kiss.
I don't believe the big C happened, due to the following reasons:
1. THE KISS is the first milestone, Arhi is not an aera gaera couple to have the kiss and C all in one go. They believe in enjoying every small mile stone.
2. ASR knew she was vulnerable and reluctant when he invited her over the carpet, and no matter how she feels as she loses her mind in his caresses, he'd take care that his feelings don't overwhelm her principles or whatever fine thread she hangs on to it with, even if her heart wants the same thing by now. (I mean, he knows resolutions can change at the height of passion and if K was at a point of no return, I feel ASR'd have gently brought her back to the reality- which is, he respects her as his wife and she refers to him as her 'honewaale pati". The boundaries are clearly different for both of them.)
3. This is the girl who insisted on pheres, not because she wanted proof of his love, but because of her simple beliefs. And those beliefs are not going to change in a matter of minutes...if it did, she'd have shown some small regret or had a monologue atleast with DM the next morning.
4. The scene itself :
As K looks reluctant, he asks her to TRUST HIS INTENTIONS and let go of her inhibitions . The intentions are honest, because he respects her principles. He is NOT asking her to LET GO of her principles, because she can trust him to take the relationship forward, no matter what happens. It is not a promise of, "lets do it, I'll marry you".
This is clear the next time he wants to reassure her.
He is trying to explain what he wants to do, where he wants to go, and she understands perfectly- after all, this is what he has been trying to steal from her for a while. And this time, she gave it willingly, gladly.
Him removing the bangles: I thought it was to get rid of the evil spell dadi had put on her- the bangles were given as a part of a conspiracy, and not in love- it marred the purity of their love- therefore he removed it inadvertently along with the other bangles. Note that both dadi's kangan were on the same hand.
5. Untying the dori: He moved one more step towards her acceptance of this physical intimacy. Had his hand trailed down to near the clasp of the choli- I mean, just a drift in that direction- I'd have believed it happened. The dori could've been just to kiss the back of her neck.

DeleteThis is exactly what I said. See, already there are several interpretations to what might have happened or not. If he had only removed Dadi's bangle, I would go with you but he removed all. And why would he be averse to Dadi's bangle when he is under the impression Dadi gave it out of goodwill?
Untying the dori was symbolic enough. Earlier too in the hut scene he was attempting to. As far as the clatch below is concerned, remember this is an 8.00 show in a national channel, catering to a wide audience. They will not be too blatant.
If it was just a kiss he wanted the other symbolic acts would not have come. Moreover she is not too averse to a kiss and there were a couple of occasions when they nearly did so (with her willingly leaning in) but for the interruptions from elsewhere.
Now consummation is big. The fact that she let him go ahead even when he had gently reminded her that he knows that she is reluctant to do so, shows how much she is willing to give herself to him. In her mind, he is as much her pati as she is his biwi. She still wears the mangalsutra and sindoor, proof enough that she considers them married. Yes, she had wanted all the rituals but she also knows what he wants. Her pallu was off her shoulders when he went behind for the dori, a clear indication they were going further. The kiss on the mehndi was also an indication that he was planning to go ahead with the 'marital' relationship.
More importantly, I felt that statement by Arnav in the garden that she was his biwi from that day was strange. Has he not maintained that she was his biwi all along. Why did he have to emphasise that? Yes, introducing his biwi to his mother as her bahu was big but she was already his biwi before, not just from that day hence. I felt that this was to lead up to the consummation before the social marriage.
As I said, each of us can interpret that scene the way we want to, much like the Geet consummation scene which to you appeared cut and dry but to many it did not, especially when they showed a morning after with a fully clad Geet and Maan with even his turban on. I believed they did it though. As to why the scene was so sanitised, it was because of the unwanted publicity an earlier hot scene had received. I feel this one too was not advertised for the same reason. Moreover the recent trend has been to underplay consummation scenes. Punar Vivah did not advertise it in their promo although the entire track is now centered on that one act which has sent the hero on a guilt trip.
Since you are an ardent fan of Gul, let me tell you that she has expressed her views on a more liberal outlook as far as relationships between couple are concerned. If rumours are to be believed, they were planning a live-in track in Geet but backed out in the end. So for me all the pointers are towards consummation. Now the purpose of it in the show, we need to wait and see.

DeleteThat's the beauty of it. By leaving it ambiguous the CVs have let anyone assume anything. Don't hold your breath for vomiting and baby bump. This PH does not believe that first time con leads to baby bump, unless the con is with the villian and not the hero. That is why they were able to let people what they did about the jungle mein mangal in Geet. The baby came only towards the end of the show and was not the result of the first con.

Did they do it, or did they not?
After Friday's episode, I feel that whether they consummated or not is immaterial. This was not a physical union, it was an emotional and almost spiritual one, two people spilling out their deepest vulnerabilities, their deepest fears, their complete dependence on each other, their complete trust, two halves of a whole coming together. The bond is almost unbreakable now.
Then WHAT can cause so much turmoil to lead to separation?
It's a given that Arnav's first reaction will be his own turmoil and confusion ... his own decision will take a short while to make. And maybe Khushi will compound the situation by walking out as per the spoilers. But am pretty sure he will find her soon and the re-marriage will take place ... he will insist on it. I don't think that Arnav's decision will be too long in coming ... and am pretty sure what it will be. He cannot live without Khushi. It may take him a week or two in IPK Narnialand to come to that conclusion, but it will happen. And SR is no longer an issue ... if they get married, that angle is a done deal.
Will it now be family pressure? Will Anjali now join the DaDa brigade to ask him to leave Khushi because Khushi's mother betrayed theirs? Will Nani who was always Khushi's champion, be able to bear that the woman who was directly or indirectly the cause of her daughter's death, that woman's daughter becomes her granddaughter-in-law?
Shyam and Dadi, I am sure, will play up the conflict and the drama, and fan the flames to the maximum. So will this be when Arnav has to face his family and take sides ... Khushi or Anjali and the rest of the family? And will this be when he finally walks out of RM with Khushi?
And also, what will Khushi's and Garima's reactions be?
If Arnav marries Khushi, he cannot blame her for what Garima did ... he can ask her to stay away from Garima ... but there is not much conflict there, Garima will gladly sacrifice her happiness for that of her daughters' and leave their lives if the sons-in-law demand. And Khushi already gave up her relations with Amma Babuji Buaji in the first marriage, keeping quiet about Arnav forcing her into marriage and not even telling them, was her decision ... she made her choice back then when she didn't love Arnav ... now she does. Also she knows now how much his mother means to him ... if Garima admits to being the OW, Khushi will not leave Arnav's side.
So the googly will be what story Dadi and Shyam spin ...
The other option is a longer separation ... Arnav cannot find Khushi after she goes missing ... she disappears for a year or two and we have a leap. Maybe Khushi reappears with a child, leaving us in no doubt about the C. :)

DeleteI have nothing against live-in: I am quite liberal about it- I guess I'd be a fool not to be- so I really don't have a problem if the big C happened.
PV- was never good for the romance- the chemistry was never there. The CVs impressed me better with the family scenes.
BALH was not so far back, if you are implying about the tiing, I agree yopu have a point there.
But C&C with their own hut scene- if they had faded in with that scene of ASR toying with the single dori and the next morning we found them all dressed up, yes , that'd have sufficed to call it consummation. Yesterday just did not fall into the same category for me- that is why it is very easy for me to believe it was a spiritual union which culminated in a passionate kiss.
Someone had posted a link on MJHT- now, that C scene was perfect, I felt. I am expecting something on similar lines in IPK too.
It is not just Gul,I don't even know to what extent she is involved in the show.
It is the whole team- I was delighted to find GH and Hitesh Kevalya in MJHT's credits.
I just feel 4 lions has put together a wonderful cast and crew for IPK, and even at their worst, they have not disappointed me- they do scare me once in a while with lack of creativity, but overall, I am just not a person who sticks to a show just like that.
Even now I find major faults with IPK- Anjali's characterisation is going from bad to worse and DB is not helping either.
That "humne kabhi chhote ko itna khush nahi dekha"- looked phony and major lack of acting there.
Even y'day, I feel they should've inserted a cute Payash scene- the script should've acccommodated it- Akash explaining the joke to Payal - it would've made the scene complete.
But then, the direction and script of yesterday's epi more than made up for all these lacunae.
I am actually fearing a letdown by the team soon, depending on how the separation takes place.
(I suspect you've only seen me praising the team, I do give it to them once in a while- we all have to vent out some time or the other, right!)

DeleteFri night I think two lovers finally accepted and gave in to the desires that had been evident between them from their first meeting. The sexual tension, the growing desire, the need to brand and own every part of the other, stamp it with their haq - passionate lovemaking.
Sex maybe not because Khushi with her beliefs gave in that societal pressures matter not when it is the matter of giving in to love and trust but yet Arnav I would think would not have crossed that final barrier just yet. But yes like you said immaterial. Like I said a few days ago, I am toh now ok with them being married or not also (but they will because the past coming out into the open will be a test and Arnav will pass with flying colours).

If Khushi and Arnav come back to RM all married (like the last time), the family knowing the past will have a hissy fit. Arnav is going to again be sidelined and shunned and that Khushi would not be able to bear so she telle him to let her go till the families come around.
But there are 2 other scenes playing in my head, one of Garima slapping Khushi at the earlier wedding and then for justifying Arnav and Garima telling Khushi how she was afaid to face her real mum whom she had promised she would always ensure Khushi's happiness plus the IPK scenario wherein every wedding Khushi is orphaned. So death is another reason.
Shyam's plots this wedding and past (electrocution, medicine mix and scorpion like thingie is done). Remaining are the eher - fire trap and the brake fail trap. Add to it that when Arnav Khushi got married first time round there were 2 reasons, the hild and Payal.
Now on wedding day if Dadi breaks it open to Arnav and like during the shagun comes up to teh family ans states wedding is broken purposely misrepresenting Arnav's silence Garima will be shattered - her daughter's lives would have been destroyed and her promise to her sister she would have been unable to upkeep. And to top it off if Khushi walks off and goes missing (like u said) Garima is going to be extremely guilt ridden. Buaji and Mami's rebuke of Garima and Payal will add to the fire as Sashi can only be a mute spectator. Buaji may blame Garima for not being thankful enough while Mami will launch into Payal and then to at least isolate Payal from the mess Garima confesses or Buaji blurts that Payal is not her real daughter. Payal being Garima's fster chil may come out to isolate her from hurt plus as an atatck on how Garima perhaps abused the family's love and trust.
So either Guptas are evicted from RM before Arnav returns and Garima attempts suicide and in an attempt to save her Payal dies? Garima is critically injured and Khushi needs to be with her to take care of her.
(Somehow just Anji saying leave Khushi wil not be enough as Arnav ddi not listen to her on the day after ArHi had a tiff plus Anji may not sya it too knowing how much Arnav loves Khushi. But pakak Shyam will try to brainwash her on this point and I hope she wonders why he is being so insistent about it)
I am game for Shyamva diabling brakes on Arnav's car when he goes searching for Khushi and Arnav getting hurt. If he cannot see her tears, she can never see him hurt.

DeleteAnyways thinking back to the previous wedding, Nani and Anjali may pronounce after knowing of Garima that Khushi will not be accepted as a Raizada bahu and Arnav threatens to walk out but Khushi stops him saying how Di would need him at such a trying pointafter losing her child and then now this(Shyam ka kameenapan well only Arnav seems to know as of now so no hope from Khushi there). Arnav ka mat jao waala dialogue but how he would also see reason where Khushi's POV is concerned.
Saw haldi and NK's dialogues suggested that they will not be too far off and that SR be ban lag jaayega plus that they were not allowed to hold hands etc. So now both buaji and raizadas are in denial of any physical displays of affection and anything Arnav wants to do for Khushi would perhapshave to be at the farmhouse - a few stolen moments while both set about sorting the larger mess?

DeleteActually realized I want VLR to be the one to tell Khushi that Arnav is rethinking the marriage because of Garima's truth. So that when Arnav eventually fids her and confronts her she can also realize just how ceepy and kameena creep can be. Once and for all woh settle karo.
Also Garim and Payal hurt, let creep again try some crappy trick to setup teh fire accident and try and blame it as proof of guilt in RM - so that it can all backfire in his face - bolne do by mistake kisee ke saamne and then be ina a pot as to how he would know of Garima's guilt or some such.

While Dadi is busy poisoning Arnav's mind upstairs, Shyam makes the announcement downstairs sending everybody into shock. Nani and Anjali confront Garima, she doesn't deny she was the OW, Nani and Anjali are in shock and even turn away from Khushi. Khushi gets very upset that Nani, her champion, and Anjali, Arnav's pet, are now both against the marriage ... especially Nani, who has been such a rock for her.
And Shyam also announces that Arnav has decided to call the marriage off ... Khushi believes him after waiting for a while for Arnav to appear ... he doesn't because he's sitting in his own shock above. So she walks out while the rest of the family is still bombarding Garima.
Arnav comes down in time to hear Shyam's announcement - he is at the stage where he will never believe a single word Shyam says ... so the very fact that Shyam is confirming Dadi's statement makes him wild ... or restores his senses, whichever way you look at it ;) ... and he denounces both of them and the Garima news as their plan to call the wedding off ... announces that he will marry Khushi regardless ... only to find that Khushi has disappeared.
He goes after her, finds her either in his mother's garden or in DM temple or in the farmhouse - she has three choices now :) ... and insists they get married right away, this time in the temple with the pandit and pheras ... wedding 360. Maybe with Garima Shashi Buaji ... either or combo present ...
And then he takes her back home where the family is now firmly against them both ... they have chucked Payal out also in the meantime. Or Creep sets up fire or accident in which Payal dies, which somehow exposes Dadi ... I think at least one of the two villains has to be exposed by the end of this wedding and if SC was here for a cameo, it will be her.

Mishti had come out with a spoler saying no KK- still no mention of the dhamaaka.
I knew why the Mishti spoiler came- the CVs did not want to up our hopes – Ha! KK would have beeen burned to ashes had she seen the show yesterday, forget beeing seen with Arhi!
So, why no promo?
1. They did not want us to ruin it with anticipation…I really hope that is the only reason.
2. They are not bothered about the trps- I hope that is also a reason, if so, I love them for it.
3. Someone hijacked the show and changed the entire story in view of the dipping trps…I REALLY hope not, this is the only thing I am paranoid about- that the CVs will somehow change the entire story to accommodate audience demand- how will we get to know the original story, then?
Anyway, since I badly wanted a complete kiss at this juncture and got it, I hope they’ve not changed tracks- I guess part of it is because of my disbelief at how far Arhi has been allowed to proceed… and the fear of letdown…leave it..

I remember, when I was in my 10th standard, our class was asked a tricky symbolism. This, btw, was to assess lateral thinking.
The image is of a boat with lot of objects strewn around it in the water.
The popular answers: A capsized boat- accident- danger- grief- death.
The answer our teacher wanted: freedom- independence...basically, the objects are freed from their constraints.
My interpretation of the fish tank- since I believe Arhi might separate-
they are in a cocooned world. They see only the world immediately around them. And it is free from danger, simply because they have limited their world to the immediate surroundings. They are lost in their love and unaware of the danger outside the coccoon.
Opti gave another possible meaning to it- sounds nice too.

He showed his vulnerability to her and she answered the only way she know how, with her love and her heart. He gave her the stars and in return he got the one women that will move move heaven and earth for him. I think her got much more that a kiss, and it did seem right, but I suppose we will have to wait and see.

I too thought there would be a sort of role reversals in the two examples Khushi gave to define their love to be true. She said her tears hurt him a thousand times. Maybe his tears (at his past coming back to haunt him with a vengence) will hurt her a thousand times. So she decides to move away from him. She also said that his leaving her caused ...(her pain). This time her leaving him will drown him in sorrow.
Even in their separation, their hearts will always be conversing with each other as they did earlier.

Then the NK-Khushi jhagda ... and Khushi totally into wife mode, breathing fire ... 'where is my husband and how dare you do this?' and NK backing off in sozzled state ... :))
And then ArHi took over and it was just sheer perfection ...
cannot argue at all - it was perfection - :D:D even the payaash part - where he tries to argue - be the stern husband he was for a bit - but payal was on solid ground here - she did not back off - and loved how sweetly no one came back to ask about KKG - she was where she belonged :D:D

Something I read in business line today reminded me of the current state of affairs in IPK. Here is the relevant portions.

Maybe when he lets his prefrontal cortex take over the decision making, it may be too late. Khushi would have disappeared from his life. I am with Dia in that this separation may not be too long.

DeleteHeh heh, even I never thought I'd have to use all these faculties to watch a serial. But I was really excited when I found Romeo and Juliet- I was like WOW! These guys learn all about imagery and symbolisms in movies, it is a part of their education and they've wonderfully incorporated it into IPK- this is what makes it a phenomenon.

I am reminded of the temple wedding and grihpravesh scenes- God, I used to go to bed with a heavy heart. It was crazy, I've never felt this way about any other serial. Movies, OFC, but the mood lifts after one day.
Only the chirpy K made me happy after that and that took some time. But I must say, I admire the effect these people can create. (Is she dressed like her dream wear she described? I guess we'll know soon. Why didn't they show some wedding shopping? That'd have been cute.)

After your comments, Su, which also made sense to me, I will be happier if the C did not happen. I agreed with most of your points ... Arnav knows Khushi's feelings on sex before marriage, he knows that she is uncomfortable with even a kiss, so I doubt he would go all the way before marriage. All he took was a kiss ... with her permission. Like I said this was much more about their emotional closeness than a physical union.

on a totally different note - you guys saw Barfi - wow what a movie!! - what acting what direction - really worth a watch - have not been a big fan of RK but this movie was just too good - I agree PC had a tough role and she did it well but she played an autistic and given the demand of the character, she had to portray few emotions (after all autistics cant express their emotions - and that was the point - and she did is really well) but RK was perfect - he portrayed so many emotions - hurt, love, laughter, worry without a single dialogue!

and the most thought provoking character was the supposedly 'normal' one - the other two were simpletons - fell in love and lived for it till the end
Deletethe so called normal one was the most confused - was not faithful to her husband - and to my mind was not faithful to her friends either - i know it was a way of throwing a googly at the viewers but when in the end she starts unfolding the pics to show her as the outsider - i felt goosebumps all over - that was pure creepy - What i mean is - till such time as she was jealous i understood but once she had accepted that those two were made for each other, that they loved each other and no one else and she was their 'friend', she should either have been just that, a friend and respected their relationship or have stepped back from interacting with them over the years (if she felt she still loved barfi and could not accept loosing him) - so true to real life - the so called normal humans are the most twisted!

What did she do when she was exposed as the 'OW' in Di's life? She ran, ignoring her feelings for ASR.
What will she do when her mother is exposed to her as the OW in ASR's mother's life?
K knows the depth of their feelings for each other. He has repeatedly extracted a promise out of her that she wouldn't leave him. Why should she run then?
Khushi has always wanted to lessen the pain in ASR's life.
She knows how attached he is to his mother. And that he hates the OW and his dad.
Now, if she remains in his life, will it not be a constant reminder to him of the tragedy that happened to his mother?
Poor Khushi, she always finds a way out of every puzzle for her loved ones- some of her methods are crazy, but she ALWAYS finds a solution.("Khushi ke nuske ajeeb hai , par zaroor kaam aate hai")
And when it comes to her BELOVED, she cannot find a solution, there is NO SOLUTION for this pain. And she will be causing the very pain that she strove to keep him away from by marrying him- 'to be or not to be'- there is no answer Khushi can find to this dilemma...and therefore she runs?

Remember my rant about betrayal of love and trust when she brought Shyam, about Khushi's unilateral decision making and her "I know what is best for everyone" better than themselves- mindset...as if they are incapable of making decisions themselves..I call it the self-sacrificing do-gooder's mammoth ego :)
Well,if it plays out like you described above, looks like they are keeping the character they built with the two incidents prior...She will be yet again chucking Arnav's love and trust over the fence, under the pretext that she knows what is good for him...
You know if she was afraid or uncertain of his reaction , it would be more palatable..infact that lil uncertainty over the contract hingwas the only thing that made her first run from him and I did not see it as solely a run for his good.
I know you see this differently than I do - but to me a relationship is about listening to the others POV and making decisions together... not making decisions for the other..If after all this build up of I trust you she does not trust him enough to go talk to him before making a decision - phir kya khaak bharosa hai ?
Arnav SHOULD be furious she does that - intentions are never enough in a relationship.. it is the actions and strength to stand by each other that count...there are couples where unilateral decisions are out of mental/positional arrogance and then there are couples where they are taken out of morally righteous arrogance- both with good intentions :)
It is reel life - so they make it seem like Khushi's tareekas work to make her sacrifice mahaan- which is ridiculous - they are a short term escapist solutions..and never address the root of the problem :)

Yes. She is still learning.
And what I was trying to describe here is not that she sacrifices and goes away, but has a moment of indecision- when for the first time she does not have a solution- does not know how to go about it...bitiya is taking some baby steps too. Don't worry, she'll grow up.
If it was like bringing back Shyam or leaving for Di, I'd have just said she leaves thinking this is the best. That is not acceptable to me either, after what he told her on friday. I am just trying to find out the 'lesser of the evil' twist.
She is not sure of what to do...she needs time...and he does not seem to be in a position to make decisions either.
So, hopefully she decides to leave with the option of rethinking together once bitwa can get a hold of himself.
And she cannot convince her family of why she has to do this and hence leaves without informing anyone.(Why only bitwa, her whole family should be fuming mad at her for this!)

DeleteAgree that she has a lot of learning to do if she takes the route...will have to see how they put it forward - if they want to just elevate ASR's char and push the decision on to Khushi, so ASR stays squeaky clean like in the Shyam episode they made him apologise and accept Khushi's solution as an answer and that his decision in anger was wrong *headdesk - elevation ke chakkar main ASR ke dimaaga ki dhajjiya uda dii :)

She'll just run at the first opportunity because she feels like running and can't think of any other option at that particular point in time, and think later.
But think, she will, once she settles down and realises what she heard and analyses what she did. Anyway, I got the impression she'll be missing for 2 days.
Wed- she runs off for whatever reason.
thu, fri- ASR looks for her.
Mon- he finds her. I hope it is at least as simple as that.

That is how I've always seen it. May be that is why I've no problem with those tracks.This is the imperfection in my heroine. And I am hoping it is a problem that will be adressed by ASR at least towards the end, or may be, by then she realises it herself.
Ok, then can Shyam and Dadi physically push Khushi and the Guptas out of the house - or at least, Khushi ... and tell them the marriage has been called off while Bitwa takes his time to get over his shock upstairs? The rest of the family is useless anyway - they won't do a thing. So she doesn't take the decision - it's made for her.
DeleteThough I agree ... Khushi has this tendency to run away at the first opportunity ... I hope after this whole trust building and "Khushi, never leave me" promise on Friday they at least show Shyam and Dadi telling her that Arnav has made his decision and cancelled the marriage - and THEN she leaves. Not before.
And if someone in the family recovers their tongue when Arnav comes down and TELLS him that this was Shyam's and Dadi's doing, so much the better. It could be Buaji - she did it before - tell Arnav that she cancelled the wedding because of what Dadi came and said about Khushi.

ReplyDeleteThis is what Ive been saying. She will leave him to save him the pain of being a reminder of his bitter past, not so much that she does not trust his love. The two things she spoke of when defining why their love was true struck me as an indicator that there would be a role reversal of sorts. She said her tears hurt him a thousand times. Maybe his tears (at his past coming back to haunt him with a vengence) will hurt her a thousand times. So she decides to move away from him. She also said that his leaving her caused ...(her pain). This time her leaving him will drown him in sorrow.

ASR; Agree ASR has fallen in love but acknowledging his heart does not have to mean negating the presence of a brain:)
Faith and trust are different things - one is emotional, one is cerebral..he can have faith in Khushi because of his knowledge of her love for him , but can he trust her judgement after the Shyam fiasco ? Only if he ignores what his brain is telling him that Shyam is evil and the CT made him do precisely that.
Khushi - I am now confused where they are taking her character - the samajhdaar, suljhi hui, thehraav vaali ladki Nani keeps eulogising , buaji's sanka devi or the compulsive control-freak bandaid-er :)
ASR's closure is underway and he is well on his way there..the catharsis of pouring it out to a soulmate is a major step in healing..hatred only thrives when there is no love to air it out and he has let in Khushi's love , let it water his garden and let hope bloom in his heart...the hatred should already be diluted.
The last piece of that closure should be Garima - knowing Garima as well as he does- that she is not a self-centred woman who would have wilfully set out to destroy his family should help him come to terms with the past..
If in an attempt to prolong this they show him going back to the old hatred that will be a character regression...back to where we started in character transformation :)

With you on not wanting Khushi to make the decision by herself - in a very fundamental way it is a negation of her "aapki kismat aap khud nahin likhte, DM likhwati hai" philosophy if she sets out to write Arshi's destiny instead of letting it play out :)

the most important point is, they have age-restricted it on youtube. the sensuality that oozes from the episode.. ( from the item number for an audience of one, to that first real dil ki baat under the stars, and the following kiss.. ) was too much for 8pm tv.
Deletei had a full rant about it.. but i decided not to write it. i am of the opinion that what happens in a bedroom should be inappropriate for family viewing. but then i realized that the show has been all about what happens between arhi -away from everyone's sight- from the beginning. and those scenes that gave every woman le petit mort.. were not about the TRP.
it was about establishing arnav's insecurities in front of khushi. if i remember, she has not ever laid her head on his shoulder and lied down like that, talking about matters of the heart.. it was about establishing her haq on him.. she is accepting that she is his wife.
right now, his family has accepted her, he took her to meet his mom, he proposed in her style, (i never thought i'd say this about arnav bitwa, but dettol rinse those towel dance steps! but his smile was infectiously adorable! ) and now finally, she is comfortable in the circle of his arms.. the girl who has always stepped backwards when he advanced.. is not afraid now. she kisses away his fears/tears of a separation.. and initiates a kiss.. but he questions her again.. "khushi, you know? "... "I know."
pfft here i go again, rewatching the scene. cannot write. only feel. applause to the director of that scene.

I feel this is one of the reasons why our trps will not come up.
