Arhi scenes ... Khushi getting ready in their room, nervous, drops necklace, Arnav picks it up and puts it round her neck ...
Arnav hides her payal, she goes frantic looking for it and he puts it on her and reminds her how he fond it and kept it for himself last year ... okay, this one can be around Diwali.
Where is the diamond bracelet he got for her? Now that there are no cameras, can he give her that?
Khushi to wear some of the sarees she has received from Arnav ... the birthday saree, yesterday's saree, the one she got from Payal.
Another dori tying scene ... with major dhak dhak ... and family has to knock five minutes before either Arnav Khushi can snap out of their Rabba ve ...
Kiss ... Camera trick chalega ... Arnav pulls Khushi back into the room as she rushes out and shuts the door ... after two minutes, it opens and a flustered Khushi runs out, only to be called back by Arnav and he shows her her mussed hair or open dori in the mirror ... she rubs a lipstick mark from his cheek/lips ...
Or he strolls out five minutes later with a mark on his cheek or a hickey, Anjali jhalli asks if he got hurt and Khushi goes tomato red while Arnav smirks.

Khushi to start some work at home other than folding clothes ... more cooking, planning the day's menu, giving orders to HP, in short taking over as lady of the house.
Nani Khushi scenes ... I love their bond. Nani sharing her worry about Shyam's uncharacteristic behaviour, telling Khushi that although his return was necessary at the time for Anjali's sake, but she is not comfortable with the man, Khushi accepting to Nani that it was the wrong thing to do.
Now that Payal is staying back, some Payash scenes please ...Payash discussing the events of the day and the marriage ... Payal feeling bad about Garima, Akash comforting her ...
Thoughts
I saw two movies in the last two weeks Oh My God, and English Vinglish.
Oh My God ... a Nayi Soch movie ... repudiating the old beliefs and the blind faith in priests, criticizing the lavish donations to temples and swamis, (also the insurance companies, though that was a secondary issue) ... and pointing out that one need not respect people just because they demand respect, they have to command respect.Also pointing out the hypocrisy in the so-called swamis and devout bhakts, and how their thoughts actions do not mirror their outward image
My thoughts - Nani vs Dadi. Dadi on the surface extremely devout, rigid in her beliefs, hide bound in following tradition, yet does not understand the true meaning of faith and worship, and what belief in God is really all about.
Nani - in earlier episodes, she has also remarked that Anjali does more pooja than even she does, Nani does not believe in tradition too much, not to the extent of letting it rule her life. She willingly allowed the men to join the sangeet, she allowed La to live in much against her own principles, and was even ready to accept her as bahu ... she has never differentiated between the Guptas because they are of lower social and economic status ... I could go on and on. Anjali in many ways is similar. Khushi is of course a living example of what faith in God should be like ... have faith, follow what you believe is the right path, do your duty, and try to keep everyone around you happy, down to the bakri.
English Vinglish ... another Nayi Soch movie ... a woman is treated like a doormat because she lets herself be treated like one, she puts herself and her needs and dreams last, lets herself be taken for granted, kills her self-respect for her family and their needs. And when she starts feeling good about herself, when she starts respecting herself, when she takes time for herself, her own needs and aspirations, she wins the respect of her husband and children.
My thoughts - Khushi, of course. Khushi never puts herself first. Arnav did ... he gave her back her position in the family, her position as his wife, he made her feel secure in his love and his life, she knows she's important to him, that he can't do without her ... and that gives her confidence in herself now, and in her plans, knowing that he is with her, she doesn't have to do things alone. But putting herself last is also a failing ...
Khushi needs to put herself first once in a while too ... maybe after the Anjali Shyam fiasco is over ... go back to work, think about restarting her catering business, join Arnav in office ... she's smart, she's bright, she's quick and eager to learn ... and Arnav is the type of husband who will be happy to see his wife shine. And she needs to take over his house, act like the lady of the house ... and definitely not let Mami call her Phati Saree, or her sister KBT.

ReplyDeletemona, i actually asked that to my sister.. on the morning after her wedding night.. it was after the words left my mouth (at the breakfast table with everyone) that the bulb switched on :D gosh that was one of the fiercest blushes of my life.

DeleteSame thing happened to me.. but not the day after the wedding a week.. there's this lady who comes home once in a while to help my mom in cooking .. ive known her since i was a kid.. i call her amma.. n my mom mummy.. anyways the day i came home for the first time from my in laws place she was there.. and i was talking to her and all of a sudden she us like what happened to your neck.. and thr funny thing is even i dint know what it was.. i in all my innocense told her that there's this mango tree in my in laws place which has its branches over the terrace.. i was bitten by ants yesterday there.. then my mom and mom in law hearing this came to have a look all worried.. when they saw they both looked at each other and started giggling like small girls.. my mom in law took me aside and told me what it was... i was so flushed red.. dint open my mouth for the rest of the day.. Even just thinking abt it is making me go all red.. although it was 6years ago

about khushi's confidence, i agree with you 100%. khuhsi had the unwavering support of her babuji when she was young.. and that made her a confident young woman who stood up against dowry..but then her entanglement with ASR broke her confidence completely.. she became the self-induced sufferings-bearer who wanted to shoulder everyone's burdens..
but now that arnav has placed her first in his life, his repeated assurances that she is the most important thing in his life.. has boosted her confidence ... as she tries to be worthy of that confidence. i have a feeling that we will be exploring this a lot.

I notice K holding on to bitwa's hands more and more often nowadays- at least that does not seem casual or friendly.
Or may be it is just me, I always found Arhi holding hands very romantic. And the fact that it does not embarass her - she knows her haq fully well now- hmmm... are we taking baby steps towards the honeymoon track?
me wants to add one more to your shiddat list - during any of teh Arhi scenes - some reference to the holi/HR parts - dialogues, fbs - anything - you ladies come up with better ways of showing this..

I want a mami and Payal bonding scene... Like they're out somewhere and Someone says something to her and mami goes all sadda haq and defends and praises Payal and when the horrid society Aunty leaves she says ' no one can say stiff about MY bahu- that reserved only for me' - lol
I want a cute romantic interest for NK!! I want Khushi to help him while Arnav teases and troubles him ... I want Arnav and Khushi to argue over how to win the girl over and NK finally managing using both their input and his own cute charm:-)
I want some nice man preferably with a degree on psychiatry to hit on Anjali. Eventually be the guy for her.

Also a cute scene in the morning where Arnav isn't letting her get out of bed and she's listing all the things she has to do finally she gives up and Aman calls and then she doesn't let him take the call Nd they can just end the scene with leaving the rest to our imagination.:-)
I love these!!! Espcially the double date ... both husbands in trouble with their wives about something, NK the ever-helpful love guru gives them all sorts of advice and they go out on a double date, and of course all NK's plans flop and the biwis get even more annoyed that their hubbies can't even manage a simple date ... it would be fun. I want the Arnav-Akash bromance back :)))

For ArHi, I want it to happen before the anniversary party - Khushi in her worry is going a bit bonkers like she did before Payash wedding, lot of DM invocations and so on. Maybe a cute sa phatkaar to Arnav to stop smiling.
And then he stops her, goes near her and she does her trademark, search his face and wriggle her eyebrows to ask him what's wrong. A nice kiss on the nape and fastening of her dori with a Khushi, tum sach main paagal ho, you're crazy and she goes - humeshaa se..a nice smile and eyelock with instrumental RV.
An ArHi nok jhok scene at the breakfast table - Arnav troubling Khushi by holding hands or generally just playing footsie getting her all blushy and to get back Khushi guides his leg to Mami or NK :) (did such a scene already happen?)
I want the ASR back who was all in love and did not mind who saw them - all he cared was he loved this girl, she was his.
Arnav is on the terrace looking up at the stars after they expose Shyam to Anjali. Khushi reaches there looking for him. This time she answers his qn from long back and starts off saying aapki amma aapse bahut khush hongi while holding his arms and laying her head on his shoulders.
Another one where he is working and notices the rose plan in his garden which was not there before and Khushi tells him she planted it the day Dadi came because Di likes these flowers and then there was the hope about her child - a nice scene with dialogues about how even if a bud flowers and withes, you always look forward to the next bloom and not get stuck lamenting the bloom that withered.
Arnav is in a slightly mad modd thanks to some office issue and in talking to Aman walks right into Khushi holding something in her hands that spills all over his shirt. And in his angr he loses it and yells, she gives him back good and then stomps off saying I d not want to talk to you. old war all day, both aware of each other's presence yet rfusing to be the first one to bend. Family enjoys knowing the snaak both have and keep trying to get them to make up and instead actually riling each more until both huff off to their room and then we have a nice poolside scene - Can I please have someone fall into the pool? And then as usual ArHi burst out laughing and Arnav realizes he has a very wet wife holding onto him...let the imagination soar!!
NO cutting any ArHi pyaarwaale scenes abruptly with ads)
Shiddat for Mami Payal, Nani Khushi and Payash scenes. I want Nani to have a bit more screen time and something more to do than just profess puzzlement or shock.
Oh and a nice NK Anjali scene too with some of Nanhe's fadoo Hindi which makes Anjali smile a little.

gosh...I'm SO glad that casting didn't work out...I don't like this man at all...and him opposite sanaya would have been a disaster!!!! :S but then again, sanaya also wasn't the first choice for khushi...so if it was KSG it wouldn't have been sanaya opposite him and vice versa! :) as they say, whatever happens, happens for the best!! :))

ReplyDeleteone thing i don't think they should do is a public revelation of VLR - ok so he needs to be degraded but a public unveiling of his deeds (a la Karz / OSO) will be embarrassing and painful for Anji as well - so def don't want a public gathering with guests being privy to a family matter! (and as it is the Raizada's have the rudest friends ever!) - not wanting something - does that count as wish list of the week?

Once the hungama of this night is over, Arnav goes to settle Di in her room. Nani then gently tells him she will stay with Anji and that he needs to go get some rest and also look after Khushi. Tonight would not have been easy on her.
When Arnav enters their room, Khushi is nowhere to be seen. And then he spots her by the poolside, knees hunched looking into the stars reflected in the water of the pool. Streaks of tears on her face. A shocked expression on her face. She would be burdened by the evil nature of Shyam she witnessed. Shocked that such evil and such people could exist. Would be stunned about how her impulsive decision for Di could have been so much more dangerous to Anjali or even Arnav..her worry and love for him glowing like a beacon thru her eyes. And she starts to say..humein maaf..but Arnav shushes her. He has by now side embraced her with her head resting over his heart. He will try to ease her conscience yet make her realize how she should not be so trusting of people. And it is because of this real world that he told her what he did on New Year's. Arnav kisses her forehead holding her face in his hands and hugs her. Then he lifts her and takes her into the room and places her on the bed and holds her hand while she falls asleep.
