Ok, girls ... this is the information I have ... I think this is the status after the negotiations between Barun and the channel and 4Lions ... I heard that Barun and Sanaya attended this meeting with reps of 4lions and SP.
Barun was contracted with 4lions, he is now contracted to SP. Sanaya was always with SP.
Some of the CVs are also with SP now.
SP wants Barun - they love him.
SP wants the show to go on.
Barun will stay as long as the show goes on. Show is safe till March at least, they will see what happens after his movie releases.
They may change the PH if 4lions does not cooperate.
Madhura is a vamp and will be so. ASR will not fall in love with her.
You will see the old ASR back soon
Next track is intense and fun. No separation.

I think Shwethu already added her take ... that Barun re-negotiated his package with 4Lions, they were playing dirty because they were concentrating on their other show, and they had already given him 11/25/45 days leave ... but SP wanted him, so they stepped into the negotiations.
Now Gargi's information ... the fact that they're not killing off ASR according to her, made me think ... is this because he needs leave again? So this is to work his leave into the story? But that should not be required now ... it should be required in Feb-March when his movie releases.
Because I agree with mads ... if BS is leaving and they want to continue the show, then they have to kill off Arnav. That will prolong the story for a few months ... show Khushi learning to live without Arnav ... Sanaya will do that beautifully ...
I can carry it forward ... Khushi becomes a female ASR, shuts herself off from love ... and then get in a new love interest for Khushi. After a gap of a few months, it will be more easy to accept. OR - if Barun needs his leave but intends to return ... then they put in the ghisa pita track of his going missing, presumed dead but not really ... or even better, bring him back as a look-alike, whom Khushi falls in love with all over again, this time she is the one fighting her feelings ...
I also agree 100% with Shwetha ...
I DON'T WANT SANAYA TO CONTINUE IF BS LEAVES - WITH THE SAME PH.
In that case, I would far rather that a new PH takes over - this PH has no idea what to do with Khushi, they maul her character all the time and I hate it!!!
More clarification from the discussions - yes, Panglosean is also producing Phir Subah Hogi ... I don't know how that show is running, but it gets decent numbers. So even if 4lions steps out, Panglosean is still there.

ReplyDeleteThe news is depressing but dont pass judgement on any single party yet. The dynamics here are more convoluted than what they appear to u. Plus there is reputation and money involved for each stakeholder.
My first thought on reading Gargi's post too was to kill Arnav and leave the story for now or from then on continue with making it Khushi centric. It just may have flown.
The decision of the storyline does not rest with the actors. Incorporating any exit into the story will be the creativity of the story telling team not the people essaying it.
My qn is why is the story telling team who knows what they started off with, who know the USP of the show, would want to take a path which spells sure shot disaster? It would be the easiest exit route for whom, actors, the 2 PH, the channel, whom?
All of you say Khushi's character has been compromised. I agree but I would like to also say they hav been playing with the character of ASR too (no not he changes love wrought but ASR as a person) and if indeed the storyline decision is an indication, then it is a murder of the character of ASR that I fell in love with. A man who was brutal and ruthless but not character dheela. He valued integrity and for such a man to fall in love with another woman after spanning a journey with Khushi over more than a year would be against the very grain of the ASR they sold and I fell in love with.
So my qn again, why would the creatives knowingly take a path leading to disaster? I do not buy the answer that their arms are so badly twisted that they have no choice but to do this. Nope not flying. In the entertainment business, making your weaknesses your strength is the hallmark of a true storyteller.

ReplyDeleteI have no sources but on the earlier leave, if PH can go ahead & give permission to ruin ASR & think of a Khushi centric story today, they could have thought of the same back then & killed him off towards the end of kidnap (wasn't there a spoiler to that effect?). Perhaps they even thought of a potential Khushi - NK / new guy pairing. NK came back to the show at that time after leaving around the wedding. But the USP of the show was always ArHi.
From what I see the PH plays on the audience sentiments & emotionally blackmails us with bread & butter talks.
It is like asking how I will burn down the very house that shelters me. Well if you stand to earn a handsome insurance from a burnt house which will do away with some other troubles you may consider it a fair viable option.
1. When DB negotiated, it was all over the media & then the track was poorly handled. People lost sympathy for Anjali. Anjali could then be sidelined citing TRPs.
2. Payal speaks of leaving & since then her appearance has been curtailed.
3. BS negotiation leaks across the net. Execution is again poor onscreen & online fans mayblame actor & his fanbase maybe affected. Anyways the character is being messed & maybe eventually people lose sympathy with him. He will then have to be sidelined for TRP.
4. Akshay barely has a role but he is still on the show. They have not done unto him what they did to Mamaji & Payal. Is he SP contracted?
5. For all the leaks, SI's lunch, dinner, vacation plans never come from mishti who claims she is great buddies with her? Why because they dare not meddle with her as she is SP contracted?
6. Mishti's latest spoiler about BS still hanging in air was toned down & they professed to him not leaving came after it came to light that he was contracted with SP.
They subtly sent a msg there too saying if BS goes, show goes, nicely done.
7. I saw some points above on whether BS is aware all his popularity is due to ASR & not his own. From the offscreen clips I have seen over time, I think yes. He hopes his movie would be a success but knows it may tank & hence he wants to keep telly as a very valid & viable option open to himself. And given an option he would like to be playing ASR when the movie releases because it would ensure footfall for the movie rather than leave in this manner leaving angry fans & shoot himself in the foot.

Coming back to my earlier point above by saying BS is the cause of the ruckus, are Gul & team telling me that in this industry, for the makers who gave us IPK it is not possible to build a beautiful story around the realities of people coming & going & leave BS to grass thereby ensuring their baby that means so much to them & punishing the man that is the saare phasaad ki jad? Or is the root cause different?

SP taking on a new PH for this show with the actors continuing & storyline intact - in that case why would BS not want to continue with the serial esp if he is SP contracted & they tell him to work on the show? ASR is an established character, his chem. With SI rocks, it keeps him alive in people's minds. (AB, SRK, Sallu did it in between too)
(news is his & SI contract is extended for a year from Nov with SP. + You think SP will give in to BS whims of not doing serial but just doing appearances even though they need him, I don’t think so. After all he is no SRK. Rather SP policy is their stars need to make appearances at their events in addition to serials. They cannot force PH contracted stars tho is my guess.)
My take: If Gul & co. are made to leave the story they created by SP while everything else stays intact, it will be a clear message across to all that Gul & her team goofed up. Their image is beaten & they also have other shows on SP & syndicated channels that will be in jeopardy. And like someone mentioned above if SP can do it to EK, Gul is small fish.
So by Nov, in over a month & half, Gul plans to make IPK such a mish mash mess that when she leaves, she makes it near impossible for SP & BS to enjoy the golden goose she created but is being forced to give up.
It is a battle of egos between channel & her & everyone else in between is fair game, including the audience.

all I know is this: Whatever of the 2 points you mentioned happens, Gul and Co have managed to earn my wrath for making a mockery of the love I gave their serial, their characters and the oodles of patience I sat with through the really dumpy days of the show.
Tell me this, whether it is any of the above, why am I bothered as long as the story onscreen keeps me spellbound.
ASR dead, missing presumed dead, Khushi firstly is sad, then she could perhaps meet a man similar in mannerisms to ASR, rebuffs him because meeting him reminds her of Arnav. Gradually family tells her she needs to move on, she makes her peace, moves on only for ASR to come back at that moment.
Or perhaps both are enroute to Shantivan from a holiday and car meets an accident. Both think the other is dead. Khushi is rescued regains consciousness after days but perhaps her feet are hurt such that she is handicapped in some way / perhaps loses her eyesight. He is rescued but blames himself for the accident and Khushi's death. The police find evidence of her things indicating she died. Arnav protests because his heart stil beats. Di, his family tries to convince him but he instead becomes the raging ASR refusing to believe cos he is still breathing. Hires investigators but they are star crossed so they keep missing each other.
Khushi decides to start afresh because she presumes him dead. Khushi does not break but keeping her faith in DM and the flam of Arnav's love, resurrects her life. There is this man / doctor who helps her. They come to Delhi for treatment eventually - series fo hit amd misses and the winds gusting RV. Arnav thinks he sees her.
In a twist of fate the guy helping her will eventually be selected as the groom for Anjali. Near misses keep happening but a day comes when unexpectedly Khushi comes face to face with the Raizadas.
Arnav thinks Khushi purposely is avoiding him (u recall that Jagjit Singh ghazal in which 2 lovers elope and then he irl becomes blind) Confrontations, anger, love - the fireworks!! and then ArHi reunite just as ANjali marries the doctor guy.
And the story goes on.

Toh writing stuff like above is ot so tough. What is special is seeing normal stuff eacted by ArHibecause of their inehret natures.
I recall my grany used to watch seials with this OOMG ab kya hoga and my fav TP used to be sitting with her and bursting her bubble with my predictions - which were not rocket science either.

ReplyDeleteSP tamping down on UK dinner - I thought of it. Yes it can be A cause but it will not be THE cause. I am guessing the channel subscription revenues they earn from overseas viewers outranks that and it will be that money + the advertising rates of that slot due to teh national and international reach of IPK that they will be more bothered about in a comparitive manner.
If IPK is a golden egg laying goose, SP gets revenue and visibility as a nayi soch channel, BS gets visibility for his fans and Pangalosean gets money from channel (ROI / profits?). They all would like this happy state of affairs to continue in a good way for a while. 4 Lions on the other hand if they are creators and the product is now owned by channel already have reaped what they could from this - new serials on the prime time slot on SP and Channel V, recognition for being love story magicians, their characters won awards and established their forte. Plus if BS is no longer contracted to them and they do not have that sword to hang over teh channel's head, what do they gain with the show going on otehr than time and asset investment from their end? By Nov, their new show would have been a month old and it will be competing Honge Judaa Na Hum and Madhubala I think. So it will need to do good to make a mark with the audience when TRPs come back end of the year / early next year. (I think they purposely tried to tank TRPs which refused to go below 2.3 and then TAM has suspended TRP when they had hoped for anotehr TRP dive for channel to pull it off in upcoming months)
As for being fed up people going on leave, I have seen news articles of actors on other shows going on leave or participating in otehr shows yet the story was not being diluted. Here time and again actors absence is being used as an excuse for poor product quality. And like in any company, people do not wake up one morning and say I am on leave next 2 days - come on we see people shooting IPK wvene when sick and such. SO is it then a matter of poor planning always?
And finally on recent epis - is it simply a case of Gul and Co serving notice period knowing they are anyways parting ways with teh show and not being bothered with what work they are putting in and its quality?

one thing that i find intriguing..and u have pointed it out..is misti's spoiler which said if BS leaves, they will not carry on with the show....now contrast that with gargi's news...
1) PH intends to have an exit planned for ASR n Nov....what does that mean for lay viewers incl IF members...that BS is probably quitting the show and so pH has decided to quit the channel so is that the excuse they plan to put out for consumption in public domain among their many PR disasters...
2) what does not fit is if ASR is going to exit( how will BS remain in the new show) If this track is approved by SP, it means tat they would have thot of another track to get BS back into the show? don't u guys think that?

DeleteYour last point is really the clincher ... why is the product IPK becoming so slipshod in terms of quality, something we have all remarked on ...
My thoughts ... I wondered why PH would compromise their own baby for their new show, which all said and done is on a smaller channel - Zee ranks 3rd-4th and SP is the clear leader. Also, by indulging in these games, they are effectively burning their bridges with SP ... if SP could cut off Ekta, then 4lions are very small fish indeed. Which is the only reason why the talk of 4lions losing interest in IPK still did not ring completely true.
BUT if there is already so much of bad blood between the channel and the PH, and they have already been told off, then it would make sense ... their story was compromised by a) hero's leave, b) channel demands ... so they lost interest ... they felt invincible because they had created this jodi, earlier they created Maan-Geet ... so Gul and co feel that these two were their creations, they can weave the same magic again, and SP will come back to them.
A clash of egos really.
And again your point is very valid ... slipshod writing is so evident these days. During BS's first leave, they managed to keep the interest alive, the script was tight for at least five of the six weeks ... it helped that the actress was very strong and able to hold the show when she was given the right material to do so ...
But now the writing is bad, even with BS/SI together full time, it's a struggle to maintain TRP's.
Looking at the Anjali track in hindsight - now I wonder dd Gul and co destroy her character out of vengeance? DB went public about ehr negotiations - she gave her screenspace all right but in such an unsympathetic role that DB actually lost out.
And if the PH and those who're in charge are so vindictive and egoistic that they can ruin their own show and characters for such petty reasons, then seriously they deserve to be booted out.
Also - we talk about BS becoming swollen headed with the success of ASR - as a possibility, that's all ... that's why he thinks BS the actor is more popular than the character ASR ...

Do Gul and co feel the same way? That WE are the creators of this show, which has become such a feather in SP's cap - they can't handle it without us ... so they felt they could get away with rubbish? And Sp has called them out on it?
Just random thoughts ... no one knows the entire truth ... but there are definitely issues between BS and 4lions ... who is at fault and to what extent, don't know! Taali ek haath se nahin bajti ... I don't think either is completely white as snow!

DeleteIf you think about it over the past 6 odd months since around Apr they have been blaming one actor after another for the product being shown and then yes that dekhna hai toh dekho. But what happened is that despite dekhna hai toh dekho TRPs did not plumeet to abyssmal levels they nosedived yet plateaued because audience decided to stay firm with IPK.
Bad blood between PH and channel I believe has been on for a long while. You recall the many instances of snippets we got on the show being under the scanner. After SPA SP would have been very eagle eyed about this show. I wonder how Gul felt having to deliver constantly on the TRPs. She seems to want to deliver when it suits her fancy. Teh presuure of having a good story always playing a GEC like SP's rules may have not appealed to her. (I mean face it they rented RM to Balika Vadhu for scenes wherein the hero's mum was shown talking to her family over phone and computer. I can recognize RM hall furniture & layout anywhere and happened to see snippets on certain days in the midst of TV surfing.)

because if they were truly magicinas (as they believe) they would have made me believe these did not exist. I think they go away with their laziness in Geet as the channel was a smaller one. But like you said SP is not a leader ainvayi.
They and SP both would have approved BS leave is it not? PH should have held firm to BS that they will negotiate with him once his shoot wraps and then basis where the show stod they could re-negotiate. Plus if they approved leave and he benefited, even they did because they did not have to handle the cons of audience reaction to ASR leaving and perhaps never coming back - come to think of it that was the first time mishti came out with the 11 / 28 / etc spoiler so I wonder how much was fact. As in maybe they agreed to a long leave then kept misleading us with increasing dates so we felt he was delaying return and then when SP pouted they anyways went ahead and made him come back and shoot scenes.
Plus tell me this what stopped them from shooting bank epis for hsi captivity? That itself makes me feel they wished to kill him off / presumed dead and intro a new actor as ASR upon return from kidnap. BS contract perhaps was expiring by May '12 and then looking at audience hoopla PH negotiated with BS for a 6 months duration ending Nov '12.
(Oh if this is actually true then BS would have been under the impression that he is being let go back than and later when he came back then too he would have obviously been looking for offers if they only offered him a temp 6 month contract)
As for BS under notice now and serving till Nov, why is SP stating on every online forum he is staying, IPk is not ending and only mishti keeps comign back with the BS still undecided mantra?
Gul did a big gaffe speaking of the latest notice, someone else took out khunnas on BS and the whole thing broke out into the open and since then Gul and co went into damage control because they did not want to compromise image just as they were launching a new show. (Btw if he was only contracted with PH till Nov as per my conjecture, told no renewal bcos they were winding up, he would have geared up to leave cos show was ending and perhaps served 2 month notice? Plus he might have also wanted to start looking out for other opportunities)
I totally agree taht he may have wanted to leave but I mean if SI wanted to leave because she did not find Khushi satisfying I ccould not blame her.
Gul and co being swollen headed - possible. You taste immense success with the 2 shows you launch and fans adulating teh jodis much after the first show died, it will make you feel like God nai?
I think SP did not realize the games Gul and co were playing until recently when they finally called them up and they realized just how much they had wagered in this sly fox game.
Just like ASR, Gul needs a karaara tamaacha from life to come to her senses!
Sandy, with you, she is aiming for a hattrick, but the question is even if she delivers initially, sustaining it is a major problem.
DeleteAs you said, the plan was to wrap it up in November, they should have gone with a high, did they when they had the actors and all the resources at their disposal? Nope!!
If sarun want to continue, SP should be looking for a new PH. The writers mostly are star people, GH wrote for star one and is now writing for dhokla and this show. Dunno if he is still writing for Madhubala, see if they retain the story writers mainly and get a decent director on board with an increased budget, the show can easily run for an other year, they can still undo the damage done.

I never saw Geet either, my friend asked me to check it out, within the first 5 minutes realized the lead's name was MK.........I actually named Gargi's fav lawyer's character in LNMDJ as MK and it caught on...I am not kidding.

the miscalculation, if we are hinting at the above scenario, happens to be this
I guarantee ASR as a character will be loved less if he falls in love with someone....but BS is not going to be loved any less becos of his character falls in love with another woman..lets accept here that BS is a huge rage (even tho it is the character that has propelled him to this place but the downfall of that character is not going to have the reverse effect...which somehow seems to be the calculation here based on the track Gargs has mentioned) BS has received the mileage, if anything...he is only going to build on it.....and the brickbats for the show will be reserved for the makers....

nothing like this should be normal practice, cheng but i haven't the foggiest on these aspects...this is my first involvement on behind-the-scenes gossip on telly serial. Until IPK, i have never bothered apart from knowing the a real names of a few characters so that i remember the actors for their contribution...
But I guess it is probably a dog eat dog world..and survival of the fittest...and much of it remains hidden from public domain in any case...
That's what I don't understand either ... why would the PH be so bent on destroying an actor's image? Is it because he wants to leave? Or because he is trying to re-negotiate his contract? Either way it doesn't make much sense to me, unless it truly is just a huge ego battle.

Delete@All: As far as the PH is concerned they made ASR, they gave BS the role. They accommodated his movie schedule, fair enough.
Now what has happened, he wants renegotiate, they didn't budge, he signed with the channel.
Now if PH is doing wikileaks, he also is in his own way with the aid of people around him ensuring he does not get painted black. Those who want to will see the white, those who want will see the black, most of us will see the grey part and be cool with it.
From his side, he gave his best to the role and now the situation is you can't really fault either on their stand, fault does lie with PH more for handling the issue the way they have done.
They did it with DB's character just round the time they got the green signal about their new show. Now they are doing it with BS...Ego hai.
If Gul can come in support of a media person who was not associated with any media at that time but is a known IPK basher and BS hater at the cost of the reputation of the actor and taking the audience for a ride, I wouldnt put it past them to do this to him.
By keeping quiet, BS is coming out stronger in all this.

Deletethe ipk story had (i am using the past tense here) something unique for it to even be of interest to people who don't follow hindi, people who otherwise don't watch serials on a regular basis...for it to turn to an addiction of sorts...there was something in those promos....which was beautifully borne out well in the narrative for a year almost...(give or take a few tracks here and there for slipshod work) ....if i go back, the cracks started to tell on the db track...when the slapgate happened...what stopped the pH from tightening the necessary screws then....bs was not to blame for that track....are they telling us that they bent to popular demand from viewers while managing DB's character...in that case, viewers have asked for several other things ...why has that never been accepted by the pH..they can't selectively pass on the blame and keep the glory...

Shweths, I recall Opti saying they scapegoated the lead actors of Geet and channel closing down when they wanted to shut Geet and move onto IPK. So this looks like repeat with BS being made scapegoat. (If he is smart enough to spread news to ensure he is not blacklisted, obviously he has to else he will never survive) So yep the pattern they think they have covered is very visible to guys who have been with them over 2 shows. And I saw posst on IF pre-warning QH viewers to expect no less. Thsi time next year, attention will dwindle and they will find a new scapegoat.
Dia like shweths said, if they can support an online reporter openly, why not support your lead. Reeks fishiness.
PH destroying actor's image - well they are not outright saying that. In fact I think they said dont bash us or him, just accept it is a daily soap and had to end some day. They are making open ended statements. They whip up a frenzy and let the online forums connect dots any which way. And why do it - because again online forums are where most non Indian viewers are and they contribute to overseas channel revenue. So if you dimish their interest and get them to self fulfill the ending prophecy - they can exit without a panga with SP. They will save face and reputation in a competitive industry. In the process if they ended up bruising BS a bit I guess they would say part of the way the industry works.
Mian Goal - They are working on getting viewers to accept that the serial will end soon and proactively quash any petitions for ressurection now or in the future. So if viewrs send petition saying pls close IPK we cannot see this story anymore and SP decides to pull the plug by end of year, purpose served. They stayed put with it till the end and did not have to face the indignity of seeing another PH take over and run what they created. It will be like "apne ghar ka diya giving light to neighbour's house" (dialogue from Swades)
Finally it is like Kareena's heroine dialogue: "Is industry main zinda rehna hai toh toh manipulate karo ya khud manipulate ho jaao"
The ego is now with SP ki how dare they think they can find another PH and attempt to keep the magic of ArHi alive - a magic that 4L created and immortalized. How can anyone else be as good as they can be?

One who love BS in any role
One who love BS as ASR....THAT IS IT.
He would be hoping that the former would be more in percentage but recognizes that it is pretty much split right down the middle.
I HAVE never brought into the myth that he is too innocent to be in showbiz, on the contrary he is a guy who supposedly started working at a very young age to support his family, has been in the industry for what almost 4-5 years now, he is not an idiot. He has smartly negotiated with the number one channel and got a contract with them.
The only thing that almost put me off BS is not that he wants try his luck in movies or wanting to dump the show. I read this on the forum that he is aware of the demand for haircut and stubbornly ignores them.
That really irritated me and made me wonder does he really differentiate between BS & ASR popularity cos I think most of the people wanted the well groomed ASR back WITH THE HAIRCUT.
Stubborn refusal to do so for the role does not sit well with me. He nowhere looks close to the ASR he was last YEAR. I put up with the excuse of the movie, but now as an ACTOR, As a Character.
Anyway fact is after all this offscreen drama where no one is white, everyone has their shades of grey, I just don't care anymore.
The earlier excitement about reading about him or the offscreen interviews is totally ZILCH now.

I think it was during his movie thingy when he'd almost planned to quit.. and he'd said "ASR is a character and anybody can play it, not just me.." and that was when I realised, this guy is deffo done playing ASR... if I view the scenes with that in mind, I actually see his disinterest showing pretty clear in most of the tracks then onwards..

Its his life and his decisions.. as long as he KNOWS what he is doing all good.. and BS definitely seems like one of those people who know what the hell they are going to land into.. he comes out to be absolutely pragmatic and practical in his approach towards life, firmly grounded and knows his limitations and weaknesses...deffo not naive and someone who can be manipulated.. :)

Deletethe issue is not whether BS is innocent or not...he is not the producer of the serial. Its the producer of the serial who has to take a call on the product, be it the absence of an actor, a resignation, a poor track etc...so i will only see this as a failure of the PH to not deliver a gud product...It is part of their occupational haards planning to plan for such contingencies including the meteoric rise to stardom of one of their actors...don't bollywood actors demand more money when they become saleable...don't producers factor that in when they take on actors...sujoy Ghosh made a kahaani with Vidya..but he must have figured that his Kahaani will sell better after TDP if marketed well...so he moved for the kill.....else it would just be another small budget movie....that runs well in niche segments...
so there are lessons on both sides in this story...not in the least, the issue of who is right or wrong...becos we do not even know the real story

The creatives need an exit for Arnav by November and since the show is still doing well they plan to carry on khushi's story And revolve the story around her... Their exit strategy for Arnav...he falls in love with another woman and leaves Khushi - enter madhura naik...
It's total suicide and will ruin the show..if they do this they clearly haven't understood the USP of the show-Arhi magic.... I really really hope they rethink this crazy idea and just end the show on a good high...channel permitting of course....

Deletechotu ASR and vamp Madhura (I hate saying that name like that since my name is also madhura .. :P) will be there max till nov end, the UK dinner, is my guess..coz both SaRun will be missing for sometime then and they will need a strong reason to show their absence, since apparently the PH doesn't have enough money to shoot bank episodes.. so obviously they need a track running by that time... maybe they are thinking of different possiblities how to end the track...one of the possibilities is what gargs has from her source, the other one being, they show ArHi back, stronger than ever.. if its the former, they could show khushi breaking down and going into shock/coma or whatever other cliched disease they can think of, that doesn't require much shooting with SI, per say...and if they show the latter, they could show ArHi going together on their much awaited honeymoon.. like shwethu said, they could shoot some scenes here and some scenes in UK, if they can afford that, especially if channel is ready to sponsor them..
@gargs...when did you get this info? was it before or after BS' negotiations with PH/channel? because if it was before, then it won't be the case now..
So as I see it the PH had three options
Delete1) End the serial on a happy note (as it is now or show a track where ODG gets all jealous and suspicious of ODB but he comes through like the always like the wedding!)
2) Replace the lead and let the story continue, either with another actor in place of ASR or another character (after killing off ODB)
3) Do what gargi suggested
Have to say, option 3 kills the story, the change the growth, completely annihilates the story. I say go with option 1 or even 2 but 3 is a big no no for me

2. Online fandom is not allowing 2 - replacing BS plus Gul is in no mood to break in a new guy here when she has to break in a new guy in a new way in her new show
3. So option 3 - show the middle finger to all parties concerned. Make IPK into a still not too poor version of the lamp aur dhokla show but a caricature of itself. Forget the intense love story and star crossed lovers (destiny rips them apart)
so SP khush, BS ki fan junta willingly asks him to step out from the puraani soch serial and Gul can happily leave the remainder raita to SP and move on to her new show. Or finally after SP and Gul hav had their spoils too from this, they finally free teh audience from whatever horror they make of it.
The rate at which serial is going these days, my hopes for a nice ending is getting lower.

Now IPK is still popular, PH Does not want to continue, lost interest, this was not the story they intended to show, they compromised a bit, Goofed up a lot and are receiving brickbats purely cos of their (non-existant) pr skills. So it says fine either wrap the show up or we will drag this till you find another PH who is willing to take the show forward, we will not stand in the way...we cannot afford to anyway, IF SP can blacklist Ekta, 4 Lions is nothing to be very honest.
Since SP has both the lead actors under its contract, they can either bring them back in a new show or continue this one, the show is on till Feb atleast giving due time for the movie to be released in Jan and then they decide to take a call. BS agreeing in principle I will tapkofy at all SP events for atleast 1 year. Sanaya will do too...Bas!!

The Facts as I see it:
PH wants to get out of the show, they have a new one with the Drama Queen on rival channel, they have already shifted Arshad, HG to name a few there.
Channel wants to drag this as long as they can..well PKD or any other show is not matching up to what Arnav and Khushi are, so even a watered down IPK is a good enough threat to other shows at 8 pm.
Add the fact that Khushi rebounding after being jilted or widowed, Soch nayi.
Rest of the actors keep their job or Khushi will leave them and move to Mumbai, with another PH or some of the characters or with the same family. It actually sounds good if they can pull it off.
I am still not convinced about 4 LIONS involvement with the show, so chances are SP would have told them stick with the show for now, as soon as we find a good PH with a decent post track, you can go and we will continue...win win for everyone concerned retaining most of the starcast and who knows Deepali might have been assured post November, you will have something good to do, is that why Akash is speaking so much all of a sudden? They want to finally give the actor and character his due so irrespective whether he continues or not, atleast he will have some takeway from this show.
BS apparantly has signed a contract with SP..THE question is for how long till Decemeber or for another year assuring him of work with the no.1 channel should he chose to continue in shows with another show and a different PH or just rope him in for promotion for overseas events for Star. BS might even have negotiated either for another show with 11/20/40 days leave should he get a chance or promising to show up on all their overseas events as his popularity is huge there. He for the first time is making an appearance in one of the SP event shows diwali or navaratri don't remember....So some compromise here and there and hopefully a win win for everyone minus the audience maybe.
I find this most interesting than the onscreen happenings to be honest:)

I will not be able to cope up with ASR falling for another woman AT ALL..I can gladly take yesterday's epi as the last one and imagine that ArHi finally got their happily ever after...
at this point, I can also gladly accept ASR having a fling in the past and having an illegitimate child at the age of 19/20...rather than him falling for another woman NOW... its BEYOND ridiculous!!! It will destroy the ArHi story like never before...the basic premise of his character will be soo thoroughly destroyed..and I want to ask the question, like someone above did, will they really do this to ASR?
I would also gladly accept that they kill off ASR.. show him getting killed in a road accident..perhaps both ArHi are travelling together and only she survives.. I can take khushi's heartache this way..I can see khushi trying to cope upp with her loss and moving ahead in life...that will still have some dignity, coz Arhi love story will remain sacred forever.. as it is, the truest of love stories have no end...so if this is how they wanna end the love story that has captured millions of hearts, then it would truly be nayi soch...Sanaya will reach another milestone in her acting career by portraying khushi's heartache, upon losing THAT one person whom she finally thought would be hers (just writing it brings a lump in my throat)..and BS will happily go after his BW career.. show will also go on, with or without the current PH..

I agree with you, Shweths, BS seems to have negotiated something with star plus..he never made any appearance with the star parivaar tyohar..and now is actually making an appearance in the diwali event..I read somewhere that he and his wife would be a part of next nach baliye too..which was utterly shocking, since he is a terrible dancer..BUT, if he does manage to do good hosting in the diwali event, then probably SP can rope him in as a host there.. either ways, I think he has signed up with the channel, hence the meherbani towards the channel..so as far as his acting career is concerned, he is assured of fnancial support for the next one yr atleast, within which he will be seen everywhere, SP will make sure he becomes quite popular and gets many more offers..
as for Sanaya, I have NO DOUBT she will bag a role within the next 6 months as soon as IPK ends.. if she could bag a role after playing a pretty boring and not so popular character of 'gunjan' on a not so popular amongst the masses channel - starone, then now, after playing a very, very popular (nationally and internationally) lead character on the most popular hindi channel at prime time...she definitely has no issues in getting a role henceforth.. she has been smart enough to make the right decisions and choices, is tremendously hard working and talented and has much better PR skills than the whole of IPK team put together .... IMHO. Any PH and/or channel would be lucky to have an actor like her..
This is ofcourse assuming she has signed no contract with SP...if she has, even better! I would more than welcome SaRun in a new show...
Madsie Sanaya is in contract with SP from the beginning, she herself said it in an interview ... that's the reason she had been in all SP shows and as Sandy points out all PH Spoiler Khabootris at IF has never dared to leak anything related to Sanaya, whereas if possible BSs chaddi laundry has also been mentioned.

ReplyDelete@dia...this is much more happening that RP waala drama during MJHT...that one was pretty clear, they were divided into two obvious enemy camps.. yahan pe BS is happily enjoying and having fn with his co stars...no ego issues or hassles b/w them and like shwethu pointed above, by keeping mum in all of this/by maintaining a stance that "I'm not quitting the show", he is actually emerging out the stronger one..
sure, he may have had his negotiations with the PH/channel...whatever may be his demands etc.. the ONLY thing that has come out in the open is that he wanted to sign a movie and that he wanted to quit the show for his BW career.. which, blasphemous though it may sound to many, in my eyes, its not exactly a crime.. :)
point being, again, as someone above pointed out whether BS is confusing the popularity of his character with the popularity of his own - I think both are equally popular.. and especially if he starts making more and more public appearances (courtesy : SP) then it'll definitely be a case of actor being more popular than any character he plays and it'll be a complete win-win situation for both BS and the channel.. :)

mads I don't think he is mixing his popularity ... if so he would not have said .. ASR is a well sketched character and any actor can play it. He was not being naive ... he was being just. He has the sense of what he is.. He has lived with all his flaws that we are pointing out just over last year &to me he is kind of a guy who knows himself. He never acts to be otherwise. Even all the movie fiasco he got into was because he spoke what he had to. He stated himself - I will not lie but I will avoid or hide from media if I have to.

DeleteHugs bey, have loved him since I first saw him host a zee show where two neighbours had to compete with each other. Then came the bad hair days and finally the guy got over it, trimmed his hair and looks great and his hosting, NO ONE CAN Beat him at the moment.

He kept protecting Anjali because of his father's affair and now khushi gets added to the list as she too could commit suicide because of his going away with 'other woman'.
I don't understand the logic of this going away at all. There seems no correlation at all for falling in love randomly.

Anyway 8-9 pm is the only time i see tv live, now i have to find alternatives and there is nothing else available.

I am a huge BS fan, but it was BS movie which made the PH suffer a lot - in fact GH came with that statement, "we are trying our best to give you Barun , trying to get him to shoot btn the movie'- I see an honest PH trying their bet to save a show here. OFC, they could've chucked out BS here, but the show wouldn't have been the same.
Now he wants to do another movie, honestly what do we expect the PH to do? They would want to wrap up the show, which SP is not letting...so they called all parties, wants the show to continue with Sarun, PH again has to accommodate- create a Barun free track, for which again fandom will scream at the PH.
From where do we get the idea that SP wants to chuck 4 lions?

But you said most of the CT has been bagged by SP, so you must be right. And am super glad for Barun, only I hope this time it is not opposite an idiot like shahnaz.
2. On the PH goofing up the story: I am confused. Up till now I've been reading that SP dictates the story- that PH wanted live- in, SP wanted hate mariage (with SP on this IF it happened that way.)- so I would gather that SP messed up the story that the PH wanted to tell?.
3. Until they find another PH: ??? Which other PH can tell us Arhi as beautifully as 4 lions has? Is all this true? I've read this in bits from IF also, but is all this plain gossip or are these facts? Just because 4 lions started QH in Zee, are we jumping to conclusions?
One bit I am thankful for, I expected lot of BS bashing, thankfully that is not happening. Let the PH get bashed, instead....only thing is are we over reacting and reading too much in to things?
I cannot believe that 4 lions would be fed up with IPK, if they could get their actors to stay with them. If they want to wrap up the show nicely and let the actor go, instead of dragging us along, we should actually be thankful to them!
Hmmm.. now all this is out, let me see if Gul is going to make me eat my words...lol. Seriously, why are you all so anti- PH?

DeleteYou missed the point. Who has the power to really mess up the story and the characters at the end of the day? The final blame will always rest with them whatever else may have happened. PH creates, SP approves.
Yes they gave us ArHi and I wonder even if for a moment how can the maker of ArHi even think about going the way of Arnav falling in love with someone else and leaving Khushi - unless it is purely her jumping to conclusions (which is stupid cos Khushi has been shown to trust him).
As for BS making PH suffer - Su no one adjusts and accomodates unless they have something to gain. neither SP, neither PH nor BS. There is no such thing as a free lunch!
Koi bhi bechara nahi hai among all parties. except the audience for believeing in the story and the promises of getting back with a bang.
And from all our collatd views, this PH seems to have a threshold of just over a year before they lose interest in a show and they are unable to handle more than 1 story deently at a time.
BS bashing ke badle main PH bashing..well not really. If you think about it the final quality of what is delivered to you the responsibility is onwed by the PH who created them. Actors will act as they they are told.
As for PH wants and SP discards, it could be specific content given SP's overall idea of the content and the way it would like to position its channel without affecting TV viewer sensibilities. SP wanted / wants IPK to continue. Baaki it is for them to handle without compromising output quality and dishing out crap to audience if indeed they care for their baby IPK as they claim all the time.
As for new PH it is all guesswork for now but yes in reality it could happen - a possibility.

1. Is the new guy a replacement of arnav?? in that case CVs are dumber that I thought...replacing BS as arnav with someone else is NEVER gonna work, SaRun FTW.. IPK, RIP..
2. Is the new guy a new person altogther?? In that case, he MIGHT just be accepted.. barely... but then, what I cannot understand is how can he be the reason arnav exits from khushi's life?! :S makes no sense whatsoever..
