16/10 - Epi 365 ... Birthday Party for Two

Tuesday 16th Oct '12

She actually did it ... she abandoned all her plans, her own excitement of celebrating his birthday ... because he said he didn't want it. And she tried to do it his way. Even though she desperately wanted to do it her way, wanted to celebrate his special day with everyone.

And he realized how much he did want it her way ... he wanted to hear her wish him, wanted a gift from her, wanted to feel special ... 

Because he used to make a fuss, she told the family also not to wish him ... and he realised that he did want their wishes too ...

He was getting angry because he thought she was planning a big celebration, he would have got angry if she had done things her way ... now he got angry because she did things his way ... 

Arnav-Akash ... cute conversation! A learning experience of how to keep that special woman in your life happy ... because if she's not happy, you can't be happy either. When her smile is enough to brighten your day, you can't afford to let it go missing ... because her happiness reaches like warm tendrils deep into the recesses of your heart and warms it inside out ... makes life seem brighter, happier, worth living. And at the end of the day, that's all that matters.

And so ... to make her happy ... the way to this girl's heart is through her stomach. Watched by the entire family, mystified ... what is he trying to fry ...

Khushi gazes pensively at the pool ... she tried to do things his way this time, even then he didn't like it ...
Because he needs her to be happy ... that's his way ...
So a birthday cake composed of burnt jalebis ... a small fat candle ... a private birthday celebration for two ... and a loving making up, because they don't like fighting any more ... besides, he has to make jalebis to manao her ...
And he actually demands his gift ... Of course she has it ready ... but it seems to be the wrong size ...
Khushi being Khushi is hopping mad ... she has to sort this out ...

But that's for later, in the meantime, Arnav has other things on his mind ... where's his birthday wish? 
He gets that, and a kiss ... and more ... sabar ka phal meetha hota hai ...

Next day ... close encounters of the tailor kind ... and the mystery of the baby suit ... a mini ASR. Complete with ASR attitude and What the ...

    Really a very beautiful episode. Both shown as first angry and then so caring...Arnav making jalebis for K..and she loves them even tho he doesn't
    ..a replay of K first cooking after marriage when he ate what she cooked and appreciated it because she had cooked it..now role reversal..too too good.

      rekhs...I know! today its finally confirmed that farmhouse night was the consummation alright.. :) I guess that's why they aren't shooting a separate SR...no need for that..they have already shown it in a way.. :)) and the rest is left to audience interpretation.. the action was deffo in full swing tonight! :P LMAO..

    I HONESTLY hope they don't go the cliched way.. it'll be tooo uncharacteristic of arnav if they show him having an illegitimate child and khushi getting angry abt it and moving out of his life.. :S

    Instead if they could show that this particular woman is a business rival of ASR's and is out for revenge and wants to turn his life topsy turvy by claiming that she had an affair with him (this is assuming that ASR and AR desings is pretty famous and the media knows how much ASR loves his wife etc)..

    OR..another alternative is that the woman might be greedy for ASR's money and fame and thinks the quick ticket to it is to say that she has an illegitimate child, who should technically inherit all of his money..


    and then khushi figures out the truth somehow and tries to get rid of that woman..OR better still, ArHi together trying to figure out the truth.. writers should know by now that putting ArHi together is the sure shot formula to success... true, their "nafrat paas aane na de, mohabbat door jaane na de" phase was mind blowing...but now things have changed..and audience wants them to be together and fighting problems together...not be prey to another MU...

    SN - LOVED today's epi...arnav preparing jalebi was the cutest part of the epi..

    and shwethuuu... akash bitwa getting more screen space day by day..looks like your shiddat has finally been realised..

    how cute was arnav saing "I'm bad in these situations, main kya karoon?" and akash telling him "bhai, mujhse jyaada aapko pata hain aapko kya karna chahiye.."

    and the best bit..family all looking on as arnav prepares jalebis and akash telling anji not to interfere b/w husband wife fights.. :))

      That li'l ASR gives me the heebie jeebies, not in the least becos of who he may be...I am yet to recover from that Bubbly scare...had me traumatised almost...its never easy using kids in serials...many of them are the smartypants/irritating ones..sorry but didn't much care for the rudeness in the kid....maybe i lack humour in this matter...

      okay, just a small question.(not that its important)...did K ask the family not to wish becos she wanted to get her point across to A? that part is still hazy to me or did the family paint a horrible picture of A to K?

      Rekhs, the last part I have a question to..

      so, basically...K bought just the suit for him and was gonna give him late in the night and wish him..so that was what her entire plan was..I think! And I think previously the family used to wish him and he used to be quite grumpy abt it..so this yr when K suggested that they do as he wishes, they agreed wholeheartedly..

      This was the kosten I wanted to ask: What was she expecting?
      He asked her point blank why she did not wish him. Did she expect him to apologise and give the 'go ahead' after that? But she was grinning to herself all thru...some confusion there.

      J..I hope you are right...its either that and K MUing the kid to be ASR's upon that lady's claim of her having an affair with ASR...although what would the lady achieve just upon claiming, I don't know..ASR will deny it point blank.. so if she produces a kid who has ASR's mannerisms she has some chance to say her claim is right..

      whatever the track is...in the end I want khushi and that kid to bond like anything.. :))) that kid is adorable, can't deny..def better than bubbly..

      although I have to echo a comment on IF.. "why do they get rude kids in the show?? what is wrong with parenting in IPK world??"

      another thing..this PH cannot handle kids and babies, so he is not gonna be in show for long.and if he is not gonna be for long, he cannot be ASR's kid..coz if he is, K wouldn't let him go away just like that..

      I'm guilty watching the epi on the net because it airs super late in our part. I can't stay awake that long, my little one is now officially attending school after a long inquiry.. it's hard finding school just like finding a job.:-)

    First things first - fantastic episode :)And doubt on chemical locha set to rest :)

    Girls- the kid scene was too contrived , to be real...:)

    I mean,I think she sees a random kid named ASR and Khushi's imagination went into overdrive -what bitwa's bitwa would be like...and she goes and spouts her horror to ARnav at the prospect of having to raise a kid like him ..that would be hilarious :)

    Atleast I hope that's all that is...identical dressing, mannerisms and What the ... from an 8-9 year old ? Not believable :)

    Illegit kid/ business rival - would be too cliched and I hope they stay away from that :)

      Sri I love your idea of ArHi getting into kids discussion with Khushis horror in raising a kid like ASR. Seriously if they keep the balance they are maintaining in last 2 episodes ... I don't think they will come up with anything gross. Bas maintain telly logic ... their current revamp is making me hopeful again ... dekhte hain kya hota hai.

      Loving the episode as a whole .... not done that in a long long time. Good going team IPK.

      If u remember the spoilers during Bubbly's track, she was to play a role in bringing the A_K together...its another matter that it did not go that route for obv reasons...the track was disliked greatly...

      but the premise was there so i am presuming they intend to implement some of that here...if u see the bubbly...and chota ASR are similar...both grumpy, so it seems these guys may have something specific in mind which they could not implement earlier...only thing that is a discordant note is that bubbly track was conceived in the hate phase and this is a love phase...so i am wondering.....

      If indeed they are doing a rehash of the unfinished bubbly track -it should be Khushi trying to understand ASR as she tries to figuret his kid out - but frankly 8-9 yr old kid with that attitude - hajam nahin ho raha...and the poor kid will seriously hurt himself tryiong to keep that face and jaw cleched so hard- it was totally unnatural :(

      I am hoping it is just her mind jumping to the next step of her happy family :)Will live in that SKD bubble till it is puctured by the CT...

      Regarding new female entry - let it be Arbav's old colleague but love interest for NK :)
      I don't want to watch Masoom - pleeeese DM - waise Devi navatris are going on so Devi Maiyya should be listening to our shiddats :)

      On this bit abt the kid being ASR's kid....i would say more that the probability aspect, i am more concerned how this affects the story of ARHI, an unnecessary complication, that is best avoided.

      Well ASR had proposed a live-in to La so i am assuming it wasn't becos he wanted to play footsie at dinner so him being in a past physical relationship is not the issue...how much ever we may not like it to be....

      having said tat....its not an easy thing to reconcile if they go that way...
      I was 11-12 years when i saw Masoom and apart from enjoying the antics of the kids, i did not understand much in the movie...the undercurrents were beyond me at that age, i just thot Shabana Aunty was being mean to that li'l boy
      But years later when i understood the movie, i have to admit, my heart went out to both parties....well the movie had a happy end but not sure if the real life will has such stories in such situations...

      but Rekha - one big thing about Masoom was that the kid came after NS marriage to SA, so basically it was an illegitimate affair (i refuse to call kids illegitimate!) and here if they take the same route - the story is bound to be diff. - this kid was there way way before KKG came into the pic.

      BTW the kid appears 9ish - so when did ODB have him - at 19/20???

      Agree about the probability of ASR having a relationship before La and the kid...The part that would not work is him disowning responsibility...but if he was not aware then it makes it a Masoom track - without the infidelity part... Anyways don't want to think about that plotline unless forced to :)
      Jugal was younger than Urmila by a ew months - think NS has the one night stand when SA is at her Maternity home for delivery - now Mami is messing with my english - I typed maternity before I realised it should be maternal - hai re nand kisore:)

      in the midst of all this IPK drama, my head is somehow stuck on that masoom movie....why do i remember a boating trip for NS and SP in a lake and some old flame association....was SP an old flame who surfaced on this outstation trip after he was married....and then renews association thru one-night stand...hain na?...don't ask me why i have to know this....something to take my mind off this IPK drama...

    Bitya definitely had no intention to abide by miyyas wishes and true to her nature expected him to understand her way of things but alas !! True to bitwas nature .. der se samjha jab baat sar par dandaa mar kar samjhaya gaya. As promised next year will be fabulous. Sapno ki duniya !! hayyeeee

    Family guessed alright and without further ado simply wish him a great year ahead. Something which bitwa preferred instead of the lavish arrangement, not that he made it clear. Nani as usual rocked. I love her to bits \m/

    I am loving this toned down Mami and NK. Too good. Mami and khuhsis rocking one liners are back. Family was too cute in their dumbfounded expressions, not at all over played. Vintage IPK. Miyya biwi same to same .. cooking bhi same ... rofl

    Bromance wow at last!!.... Bitwa: "ab mein kya maroon?!" ... Me: "you come on here now!!"

    Bitwa browny points for you to come up with that idea. He completely looked like a man first time in the kitchen & his last expression ... hogaya ... rofl rofl

    Bitiya wants to dress him up ... ah haan aur hum inke hormones ko lekar avaiyn pareshan the. Thank you cvs to let us know that they are definitely doing it. Sounds logical ... that's the reason these 2 are able to behave normally ... naito panga hojata nai :P

    Ah haawww .... chota sa miracle .... loops closed the moment it was open!! *clap*

    Chotu ASR!! Aiyyoooo ..... cute kid. Iska muh toot jayega ... dialogues bolte bolte. What's with IPK and grown up akdu kids and babies @20's &30's. Par he sooo looked like ArHi kid. Cvs abhi kyoun cast kiya?? Aap bhi nah!!!

    Akash bitwa bola ... Akash bitwa phirse bola and I was feeling so happy for BG. My happiness suddenly took a surprising turn when I heard Dia speaking "Back off Di ... Miyya biwi ki beech ki baat hai!!" ... Haaawwwwww ...... Oh that was still Akash bitwa speaking. Mighty proud of you. Jo hum fandom samjha na sake - &that's saying something, this is IPK fandom - woh Akash bitwa ne jatse kar diya.

    Loved it simple loved it. Keep the romance at least to this level. Sab kush.

      Aakash and arnav scene - even cuter... but Aakash bitwa ... you talking about roothna , manaana .. looks like biwi went away roothke!

      Khushi listened to Arnav for once and got it again... poor girl --anyway growth in Arnav's character as he understands that people around him also get happiness by doing things that they want for his happiness...

      I don't like the cliched track that I think they are heading into... but atleast we know they have some track ... so that's the only consolation.

      I am hating Madhura even before she makes an appearance-- don't ask why!

      I might be the odd one but I found chotu ASR rather cute. Maybe because of the actor. He so looked like ArHi kid.

      Well we don't know yet how it will play out. ArHi are together and they are talking ... boy they are talking and how I love it !!

      So whatever the problem is I don't think so it will be illegitimate. That will be totally against ASRs character. Something they will not mess with. There execution sucks big time but they have never really strayed from their characters basics in paperwork.

    cute cute episode - defiantly one of those re-watchable kinds :D

    one thought though - (and am putting on my virtual armor for i know you kkg lovers will kill me today) - did not feel so sorry for KKG today- yes she had planned soo many things for ASR but she did not do any - i mean no back up plans, no secret family party even (no outsiders but just the family, a cake, decorations on the terrace kind of thing) - could have been done post their fight but nothing was done

    yes i know, ASR had said 'no' but when you claim to understand someone so well, when you complete his sentences, when you know whats on his mind better than he knows it himself, - this 'no planning' did fall a bit flat - after all how many times we say we don't want this or want that, when we mean the opposite!

    Also - she said "i have changed so much for you and you could not do this little thing for me..i think i expected too much of you" - sorry folks, that was hitting under the belt and she has changed, she???? - she is still the same sanka devi (and thank God for it!) that she always was - it is he who has changed - completely - so her statement was tad bit unfair
    infact the only bit she did not do as KKG was this birthday!

      Thank you for telling me I am not the odd one out.

      I felt the same about KKG. If I was on her side yesterday, today I am on bitwa's side.

      What I liked a lot was the bromance for this:

      The more experienced bro advising the recently initiated one…imparting some wisdom on the other sex, OFC, nothing that he did not know. It is always nice to know there are others in the same boat from Mars.

      Arhi- the one thing I appreciated is that(or may be it is my mistaken perception), Khushi was not made out to be always right, the way Akash explained her and all women- she may not be right always, she might appear ajeeb, but he loves her enough to overlook these minor takniki kharaabis- and she deserves to be pampered with burnt jalebis…after all she won a major battle today, she got one point made across!

      Akash did not justify Khushi today, he just explained to bhai that ‘these women seem silly at times…but we are nothing without them’- again, bitwa seems to be the more understanding one. I am wondering if all this is leading to Bitiya's growth...esp with news of a possible jealousy track coming up.

      The writers did a ramanchi on us with the bit on K asking the others not to wish him...to me that was the part that i could not follow...becos to me it seems, he only thinks of it as a normal day.....where did the bit of not wishing him come about? Altho he seemed to bite off people's heads when they wished him was the story given to k and us...

      I felt they could have just made it even more special by letting everybody wish him as usual and only K not doing it (becos she thinks he doesn't like it)...such that A's outburst in the eve would have made complete sense and her anger justified. Becos he was only asking her for her wishes...not about the party...and ofc K could well ask why he does not want to let her do this for him

      on the part of her changing herself...that dialogue could have been avoided unless they meant to give K some new understanding that she does not even have now....(gives me a headache thinking about it!!)

      On plans...well i can accept that K made the plans but was forced to change it becos of A's insistence altho the impression given to us was there is a plan underway...ramnachi all the way to let us have a quick rabba vey....chalo koi nahin...all RV deprived souls got some relief...also their sleeping arrangements were clarified....MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL!

      Su, Rekha, Anita - that's what i am saying - KKG was unfair today - she was sulking and saying the wrong things - ASR is the one who has changed (that he needed the changing and she did not is besides the point!)

      So rekha - i agree, had what you said happened, i would have understood - or even after the fight if there was another surprise in the form of a small midnight family party for ODB i would have sided with KKG - today I was on bitwa's side (though i had started the epi being on hers!)

      when the sulking happened the writers seem to have forgotten one simple aspect, that K had asked the family not to wish him...they forgot to close that loop on the plan behind that...becos y'day was a ramanchi epi on us...to show K was planning something big when she was not....

      1) ASR was represented to K as if he hates being wished...but that was not borne out in the narrative, so much so that he was surprised at not being wished by the family...tho he did have an expectation that his family would buy in to Sanka devi's plans
      2)So i am presuming that Arnav only does not want an song dance abt it but his family is allowed to wish him..but Khushi doesn't know this so she does not wish him....fair enuf...but why did she ask his family not to wish him...did she have a plan in place?

      So like u, i was confused abt that...without that aspect, i could well understand, she behaved like any patni unhappy at not being allowed to celebrate her hubby's big day when she doesn't know the issue behind it and was entitled to get angry...infact demand the very answers she did today.

      And I was super irritated with the family nani, DI and Mami for not even wishing him happy birthday. They have been with him more than KKG and they have I guessed wished him or give him aashirwad every year, just one line. I can so imagine Anjali and her puja for her chatter on his birthday when he used to do everything for DI, would he not have even grumpily taken her wishes. S why did they not wish him today, all because kkg told them not to.

      I am one of the very very few people who actually loved Thursday and Friday episodes but today was too upset with the family whose affection towards arnav can be puppeteered just like that.

      I have nothing against the arnav and khushi equation because they are husband and wife and between husband and wife, there is no right and wrong as to why a person thinks or does the things they do with relation to the other. Bas ho jaata hai types.


      But definitely the family's reaction bugged me today.
      Phew. Done. I had to get that off my chest somewhere and it was giving me acidity not saying it out somewhere. Now I am calm. He he he

      family agreed to khushi's plan of not wishing chotte, to remind us of that old moun vrat.. when they wanted celebration, finally arnav had relented that day.. maybe the family expected arnav to agree to the birthday party, based on khushi's tactics. but in the end, he did not, and khushi's face looked like a hornetbite. so nani threw in the towel, said whatever was ODG's plan, it did not work, its not too late, let's all wish him at least.

      I actually had no problems with khushi not wishing him to prove a point, but that was my instant reaction. Because they will sort out their issues one way or the other

      Sama - Khushi as being downright unfair. In my mind, it is ASR who has changed significantly not the other way around. My gripe with CVs is in the effort to make Khushi look Mahan , they compromise her character. I did not appreciate Khushi's viewpoints during their fight, it sounded very flippant. Today the balance tipped towards ASR as far as I was concerned :-)

      Initially I also thought the same - did the e CVs think kapde badalna for that conference room fashion show is khudko badalna ...

      But then it hit me...she did change herself in the most fundamental way - left her principles/her reliance on social sanction behind...when she aquiesced to the C before marriage.

      The dialogues could have been better in that fight - more mirroring her confusion than the self-pity " Aap chahte kya hai ? hum wish karte to naraaz hote , ab nahin kiya to naraaz hai" instead of whining "Aap hamare liye itna nahin kar sakte"..

      But I guess in a way it is Khushi's recognition of her haq too that he has to do some stuff for her - unlike the earlier pre-marriage guilt-ridden "aapne hamare liye itna sab kiya"..

      Now if they could stop he yo-yoing between the two states - that would be good:)

      The point you brought out one her compromising for the C- it is a huge thing for her. But, like you said, the dialogues could've been better. The whole thing, the fight scene looked a bit silly as we all discussed above. So the writers should've been a little more careful like you and Rekha pointed out- the familly scene was incomplete.

      K came out with that rhootha face in front of the whole family, so much so that Anjali noticed it. It irritates me that Anjali keeps saying Chhote loves Khushiji and he cannot love her more than this. It is high time Anjali realised Khushiji loves Chhote in an equal measure instead of her seeing a Khushi who gets upset at the smallest thing...as it is, no one has acknowledged the effort she took in saving ASR and keeping the family together...I am bugged about Khushi's characterisation today.

      I guess it is also disappointing that there was no morning after scene- I am ranting after a long long time. The whole epi had a cute thought to convey, it could've been done in a better way. Hope that is the end of my rant.

    Ok didnt mind the ArShi fight but was not khushi being unfair? i mean first off, as someone already said, he changed not her!! and whats with all the "you think i didnt want to celebrate" and all..he said he didnt like to celebrate..let it go!! i am sorry but did not like that part..the way i saw it..the guy is made to feel bad unnecessarily!! hhmmpphh

    the whole jalebi making part was sweet but maybe because i didnt much appreciate the fight scene..i was like ok ab kya kar raha hai yeh??!!

      anita, she loves celebrations, especially to make others happy. it being her first chance to celebrate his birthday.. the hubby she loves so much.. she was over the rainbow with the preparations.. but then, di said, akash said, even mami said that he does not like celebrations for his birthday. but she sill went ahead.

      when he himself said i dont want celebrations, she was disappointed beyond belief.. (she still remembers that he did not give her the kind of birthday she wanted..) out of her love for him, she is giving him the kind of birthday that he wants.. no fuss, nothing special.

      this is where the family members not wishing him kinda broke the flow.

      but she did go to the office to share lunch with him, and treats it as any other day.. when he finally asks her, she explodes with all the suppressed frustration due to the canceled birthday party.."why cant you just go with the flow to make others(me) happy? what will you lose if you are the focus of a birthday party?

      i changed so much.. i'm willing to go your way on things that were unshakeable.. i'm pressure-cooking myself, trying NOT to celebrate your birthday.. and now you want me to wish you??"

      though khushi was blowing her top for something irrational, i see it as the full day's pressure just exploding at the nearest exit. we all do that sometimes, dont we?

      so if the guy felt bad, it was just a side effect :D

    One thought that occurred to me after today's episode:

    Arhi cannot be expected to behave like ANY newly married couple.
    They were in love before they got married, so technically it was a love marriage. Even during the hate marriage, both had lot of feelings for the other, even though they tried their level best to hate each other.

    6 months of marriage and then they had their courtship, a lot of passion there and a lot of drama.

    So, they are not new to each other. And the haq with which bitiya decided to drive her point home, and the initial ego with which ASR struck down her plans makes me want to believe we may not get many coy moments between them. This couple is so used to each other, they are behaving now like a couple who has come out of their honey moon period, when people really start learning things about each other- and adjusting to each other in day to day life.

    Another really good episode. Just like any other,cute couple they fight and make up. The making up seems to be the best part for both of them. They are learning to be a proper couple in all ways.

    If indeed it is Akash's child*shockkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk*, well the kiddo decided AFTER googling Akash Sing Raizada, you know what Akash is Cute, but Arnav is hot, so i am going to emulate Arnav.

    The tension between ARhi will be cos of the new girl in Akash's life.

    I agree with Anon and some others regarding the utter lack of sensivity on the part of family not wishing him...something they have obviously been doing earlier otherwise Arnav would not have been disappointed by their failure to wish him..are they puppets in hand of Khushi..does not speak highly of their affection for their Bitwa..
    And when A kept asking K what she is planning and that he does not want any celebrations why did she not tell him then that she wanted a big/small celebration...after all she had already ordered a present for him..
    After being a big fan of Khushi I was very very disappointed and all my sympathies were with Arnav..he was the aggrieved party and yet he apologised..not that this matters between husband and wife but....

    I'm soooo sorry guys I've know for a few days now nd I just can't keep it to myself anymore...

    I promise this isn't idle gossip or news from the grapevine - this is matter of fact from the horses mouth kinds...

    The creatives need an exit for Arnav by November and since the show is still doing well they plan to carry on khushi's story And revolve the story around her... Their exit strategy for Arnav...he falls in love with another woman and leaves Khushi - enter madhura naik...

    It's total suicide and will ruin the show..if they do this they clearly haven't understood the USP of the show-Arhi magic.... I really really hope they rethink this crazy idea and just end the show on a good high...channel permitting of course....

    Dia I'm Sorry I know you don't like spoilers on the chat but have been so bummed out by this haven't been able to enjoy last few amazing episodes ...

      The news is depressing but dont pass judgement on any single party yet. The dynamics here are more convoluted than what they appear to u. Plus there is reputation and money involved for each stakeholder.

      My first thought on reading Gargi's post too was to kill Arnav and leave the story for now or from then on continue with making it Khushi centric. It just may have flown.

      The decision of the storyline does not rest with the actors. Incorporating any exit into the story will be the creativity of the story telling team not the people essaying it.

      My qn is why is the story telling team who knows what they started off with, who know the USP of the show, would want to take a path which spells sure shot disaster? It would be the easiest exit route for whom, actors, the 2 PH, the channel, whom?

      All of you say Khushi's character has been compromised. I agree but I would like to also say they hav been playing with the character of ASR too (no not he changes love wrought but ASR as a person) and if indeed the storyline decision is an indication, then it is a murder of the character of ASR that I fell in love with. A man who was brutal and ruthless but not character dheela. He valued integrity and for such a man to fall in love with another woman after spanning a journey with Khushi over more than a year would be against the very grain of the ASR they sold and I fell in love with.

      So my qn again, why would the creatives knowingly take a path leading to disaster? I do not buy the answer that their arms are so badly twisted that they have no choice but to do this. Nope not flying. In the entertainment business, making your weaknesses your strength is the hallmark of a true storyteller.

      Okay, I promised myself not to get attached and think f scenarios. But I can't help it. Just for the heck of it.

      New entry, past flame, ask and khushi get to know that the kid s arnav's. Asr says either so what or that the kid is not his. He does not love the mom. Khushi feels the kid is arnav's and feels the woman will not lie. Khushi wants to show her Mahaanta and says he should be with this woman for the sake of the kid. He says no. She forces him and says she will go away. But he says no, she should stay here and he will move out with this lady basically to prove this whole thing wrong. Khushi in the meantime starts finding clues like kidnapping episodes and does her detective Baazi. And by the time all the promotions are over and arnav is back.

      And I need my head examined and take a break from watching Mish mash of serials. H he he he he

      and think about it.. he promises to let her celebrate his next birthday.. promises to wish her on her birthday.. those dialogues have the echoing feel of famous last words.. would be perfect for khushi to remember through her tears when he dies..

      SHIDDAT that arnav does not fall in love with another girl.. it took him almost two years to fall in love with our bitiya.. the painstaking way in which we wished/loved/watched him along on his journey from a hater to a lover has been IPK's success. Arnav Singh Raizada is a honest man.. right now, his biggest truth
      is his love for his Khushi. he is willing to do anything for her.. he came to marry her on the day his BFTP broke, somehow, he proved that he is the ultimate modern day ranjha.. Devi Maiyya, it will break our hearts (and his character) to see him love another girl.. SHIDDAT se maang rahe hain, protect khushi and arnav's love for her..

      yesterday was another feather in arnav's cap.. when he learned how to manao his roothi biwi.. last time he tried, he ended up forcing cake in her mouth..

      this time, she will eat yucky jalebis... because they were dipped in the chashni of his love. (err.. that came out wrong... dont take gutter meanings.. i dint mean that.. the pun was UNintended!)

      SN i remember last year around haldi, he had the same beard.. some religious thing for the actor?

      Funny thing is, my mind was so numb with the current IPK when I opened the blog now.
      Yesterday, for the first time, I felt they took too many liberties. Farmhouse being C or not - still, they did not tell us clearly, so we assume it must have been- then K's casual response the next day to ASR's query does not make sense...what have they done with their characters?

      When I read Gargi's news, I really am not feeling bad about it. I don't know, I am not angry either. I know they can pull it off if they put their mind to it. The brilliance in story telling shines through now and then...
      If it fails, well they gave us the solution...'dekhna hai to dekho'- the sad thing is, there will be no trp meters to show them they have failed their audience. (Last week, I was watching YT videos of Geet after Opti's comments, and frankly, I guess every good serial that is associated with so much fanfare fizzles out this way. For now, I'll continue to keep the faith. If they wanted Barun exit, why did they let the wedding happen? Easiest route'd have been, ASR abandoning her at the mandap and Barun slowly exiting.)

      I have a faint hope that Gargi was given just the gist of it- it could very well play out to be something else...even when something tells me something is wrong somewhere. Poor Barun!

      gargi: There is going to be no trp till december, so why the kolaveri?

      Sandy& gals: I was thinking that too why ruin ASR...Well they can if you know who has given enough reasons to ruin ASR.

      The Facts as I see it:

      PH wants to get out of the show, they have a new one with the Drama Queen on rival channel, they have already shifted Arshad, HG to name a few there.

      Channel wants to drag this as long as they can..well PKD or any other show is not matching up to what Arnav and Khushi are, so even a watered down IPK is a good enough threat to other shows at 8 pm.
      Add the fact that Khushi rebounding after being jilted or widowed, Soch nayi.

      Rest of the actors keep their job or Khushi will leave them and move to Mumbai, with another PH or some of the characters or with the same family. It actually sounds good if they can pull it off.

      I am still not convinced about 4 LIONS involvement with the show, so chances are SP would have told them stick with the show for now, as soon as we find a good PH with a decent post track, you can go and we will continue...win win for everyone concerned retaining most of the starcast and who knows Deepali might have been assured post November, you will have something good to do, is that why Akash is speaking so much all of a sudden? They want to finally give the actor and character his due so irrespective whether he continues or not, atleast he will have some takeway from this show.

      BS apparantly has signed a contract with SP..THE question is for how long till Decemeber or for another year assuring him of work with the no.1 channel should he chose to continue in shows with another show and a different PH or just rope him in for promotion for overseas events for Star. BS might even have negotiated either for another show with 11/20/40 days leave should he get a chance or promising to show up on all their overseas events as his popularity is huge there. He for the first time is making an appearance in one of the SP event shows diwali or navaratri don't remember....So some compromise here and there and hopefully a win win for everyone minus the audience maybe.

      I find this most interesting than the onscreen happenings to be honest:)

      This is the not IPK that was promised to us in June....in a way, it hasn't been from slapgate 1 onwards.....
      well that itself is not the sad part....becos the story is not ours to tell..

      However from then on, it has only been a journey where we all girls ARHI mad have collectively propped up the epis..seeing some gud each day and thus not getting ourselves detoxed completely...

      we have been holding on to hope....today, when i read gargi's post,i am reminded of an antara from a song of my fav movie on love - amar prem...

      What the...getting this news on returning...grrrr.... this cant happen with ASR...he will fall in love every day with a new person if he falls for anyone else after khushi...he may leave to fulfill his responsibility to that kid and woman(if that is true)...but am hoping for that to be fake..a plan against Arhi...
      what were they showing whole thru the year - ASR falling in love, running from his feelings and finally accepting the same - what was the point of all that...

      i wont be able to watch ipk ever again if this happens...not even for Sanaya/Khushi....

      All I know for sure is that this is definitely what is on the agenda right now. It could change. Guys don't underestimate the unpredictability of television....

      Its all doom and gloom right now next thing you know BS and SI sign on for another 6 months and they get a cool new track or the show totally capsizes..its totally unpredictable...But as of two days ago this is def what was on...

      They way I have understood this...Guessing and ulta and seedha decoding I read everything at IF ages ago -
      BS contracted with PH...WANTED a raise and few other demands, PH didn't oblige, they already had accommodated him for the movie, so were not willing to budge...Strategic leaks which misfires...for both the parties concerned.

      Now SP steps in, it has UK Dinner which it knows the tickets are selling out purely for SARUN, They need the actor, actor is more than willing to accommodate, you don't want to take panga with SP AND it is a win win situation from him, he will be treated and paid better, is assured of a show at SP and face it SP will not have bakwaas shows at its prime time so his future is pretty much set, also he requests for 11/20/40 days if required, SP says fine go ahead assuming you shoot bank episodes and any decent PH will have the money and resource to shoot bank episodes when they know the actor is going to go on leave so his presence is not missed that much.

      Now IPK is still popular, PH Does not want to continue, lost interest, this was not the story they intended to show, they compromised a bit, Goofed up a lot and are receiving brickbats purely cos of their (non-existant) pr skills. So it says fine either wrap the show up or we will drag this till you find another PH who is willing to take the show forward, we will not stand in the way...we cannot afford to anyway, IF SP can blacklist Ekta, 4 Lions is nothing to be very honest.

      Since SP has both the lead actors under its contract, they can either bring them back in a new show or continue this one, the show is on till Feb atleast giving due time for the movie to be released in Jan and then they decide to take a call. BS agreeing in principle I will tapkofy at all SP events for atleast 1 year. Sanaya will do too...Bas!!

      As always my accuracy on the above is min 50% lol.

      Rekhs: Look from what I have seen so far, once you produce something for the channel, it becomes Channel's property, so you have creative and actual producers for SP in the credits, so the way it works is it is like a joint effort and hence the channel can re telecast or do whatever it wants with the show. It is primarily a property of the show.

      As for another PH taking up the show, why not, If I am not wrong, didn't MJHT change its producers halfway, not sure.See simple hai yaar PH does not want to continue as in 4 Lions, they say you know what this is not what we signed up for, we will continue as long as channel finds another PH willing to continue.

      I read somewhere that 4 Lions was the creative producer, in terms of characters, stories etc...money was being provided by Rajesh chada and his company. And if I am not wrong, the characters and show is copyrighted by the channel, so it can ask other PH you guys want to continue the show or would you rather want to work these two in a different show. Ultimately if they manage to retain the story and screenplay writers and keep track of what audience wants, even a brand new PH can take over.

      Don't know much about the practical aspects of these things a lot of it is based on what I have been reading up on these issues.

      4 lions has an 18 month itch. They don't know what to do with their story after 18 months. They told Geet viewers to watch iss pyar ko kya naam doon and they will tell ipkknd viewers qubool hai.

      As far as I know, the zee tv serial phir subah hogi is produced by Rajesh chadha's panglosean entertainment. Wll have to confirm. Read it fleetingly in the credits I think. That s why I was not surprised when Lalit. Mohan went from zee tv show to ippknd etcetera at the drop of a hat.

      For now both the directors are in the credits, meaning Aman is directing now. So for Drama they will bring in LM, for Romance it will be Arshad.

      anyway, I curse myself for getting attached to ArHi like I have been...had been thinking of making a VM for them too, but now, chuck it.. I want to detach, like NOW! I will not be able to cope up with ASR falling for another woman AT ALL..I can gladly take yesterday's epi as the last one and imagine that ArHi finally got their happily ever after...

      at this point, I can also gladly accept ASR having a fling in the past and having an illegitimate child at the age of 19/20...rather than him falling for another woman NOW... its BEYOND ridiculous!!! It will destroy the ArHi story like never before...the basic premise of his character will be soo thoroughly destroyed..and I want to ask the question, like someone above did, will they really do this to ASR?

      I would also gladly accept that they kill off ASR.. show him getting killed in a road accident..perhaps both ArHi are travelling together and only she survives.. I can take khushi's heartache this way..I can see khushi trying to cope upp with her loss and moving ahead in life...that will still have some dignity, coz Arhi love story will remain sacred forever.. as it is, the truest of love stories have no end...so if this is how they wanna end the love story that has captured millions of hearts, then it would truly be nayi soch...Sanaya will reach another milestone in her acting career by portraying khushi's heartache, upon losing THAT one person whom she finally thought would be hers (just writing it brings a lump in my throat)..and BS will happily go after his BW career.. show will also go on, with or without the current PH..

      *sigh*

      anyway, forgetting the "what could they show" scenarios.. coming to the offscreen drama..

      I agree with you, Shweths, BS seems to have negotiated something with star plus..he never made any appearance with the star parivaar tyohar..and now is actually making an appearance in the diwali event..I read somewhere that he and his wife would be a part of next nach baliye too..which was utterly shocking, since he is a terrible dancer..BUT, if he does manage to do good hosting in the diwali event, then probably SP can rope him in as a host there.. either ways, I think he has signed up with the channel, hence the meherbani towards the channel..so as far as his acting career is concerned, he is assured of fnancial support for the next one yr atleast, within which he will be seen everywhere, SP will make sure he becomes quite popular and gets many more offers..

      as for Sanaya, I have NO DOUBT she will bag a role within the next 6 months as soon as IPK ends.. if she could bag a role after playing a pretty boring and not so popular character of 'gunjan' on a not so popular amongst the masses channel - starone, then now, after playing a very, very popular (nationally and internationally) lead character on the most popular hindi channel at prime time...she definitely has no issues in getting a role henceforth.. she has been smart enough to make the right decisions and choices, is tremendously hard working and talented and has much better PR skills than the whole of IPK team put together .... IMHO. Any PH and/or channel would be lucky to have an actor like her..

      This is ofcourse assuming she has signed no contract with SP...if she has, even better! I would more than welcome SaRun in a new show...

      P.S. dia, I agree with shweths, I think it would be better to open a new topic so that all discussions stay together and episode discussions remain just that.. those who want to stay away from offscreen discussions can also stay away from them that way.. :)

      I have no sources but on the earlier leave, if PH can go ahead & give permission to ruin ASR & think of a Khushi centric story today, they could have thought of the same back then & killed him off towards the end of kidnap (wasn't there a spoiler to that effect?). Perhaps they even thought of a potential Khushi - NK / new guy pairing. NK came back to the show at that time after leaving around the wedding. But the USP of the show was always ArHi.

      From what I see the PH plays on the audience sentiments & emotionally blackmails us with bread & butter talks.
      It is like asking how I will burn down the very house that shelters me. Well if you stand to earn a handsome insurance from a burnt house which will do away with some other troubles you may consider it a fair viable option.

      1. When DB negotiated, it was all over the media & then the track was poorly handled. People lost sympathy for Anjali. Anjali could then be sidelined citing TRPs.

      2. Payal speaks of leaving & since then her appearance has been curtailed.

      3. BS negotiation leaks across the net. Execution is again poor onscreen & online fans mayblame actor & his fanbase maybe affected. Anyways the character is being messed & maybe eventually people lose sympathy with him. He will then have to be sidelined for TRP.


      4. Akshay barely has a role but he is still on the show. They have not done unto him what they did to Mamaji & Payal. Is he SP contracted?

      5. For all the leaks, SI's lunch, dinner, vacation plans never come from mishti who claims she is great buddies with her? Why because they dare not meddle with her as she is SP contracted?

      6. Mishti's latest spoiler about BS still hanging in air was toned down & they professed to him not leaving came after it came to light that he was contracted with SP.

      They subtly sent a msg there too saying if BS goes, show goes, nicely done.

      7. I saw some points above on whether BS is aware all his popularity is due to ASR & not his own. From the offscreen clips I have seen over time, I think yes. He hopes his movie would be a success but knows it may tank & hence he wants to keep telly as a very valid & viable option open to himself. And given an option he would like to be playing ASR when the movie releases because it would ensure footfall for the movie rather than leave in this manner leaving angry fans & shoot himself in the foot.

Coming back to my earlier point above by saying BS is the cause of the ruckus, are Gul & team telling me that in this industry, for the makers who gave us IPK it is not possible to build a beautiful story around the realities of people coming & going & leave BS to grass thereby ensuring their baby that means so much to them & punishing the man that is the saare phasaad ki jad? Or is the root cause different?

      9. SP taking on a new PH for this show with the actors continuing & storyline intact - in that case why would BS not want to continue with the serial esp if he is SP contracted & they tell him to work on the show? ASR is an established character, his chem. With SI rocks, it keeps him alive in people's minds. (AB, SRK, Sallu did it in between too)
      (news is his & SI contract is extended for a year from Nov with SP. + You think SP will give in to BS whims of not doing serial but just doing appearances even though they need him, I don’t think so. After all he is no SRK. Rather SP policy is their stars need to make appearances at their events in addition to serials. They cannot force PH contracted stars tho is my guess.)

      My take: If Gul & co. are made to leave the story they created by SP while everything else stays intact, it will be a clear message across to all that Gul & her team goofed up. Their image is beaten & they also have other shows on SP & syndicated channels that will be in jeopardy. And like someone mentioned above if SP can do it to EK, Gul is small fish.

      So by Nov, in over a month & half, Gul plans to make IPK such a mish mash mess that when she leaves, she makes it near impossible for SP & BS to enjoy the golden goose she created but is being forced to give up.
      It is a battle of egos between channel & her & everyone else in between is fair game, including the audience.


      Simply a case of if I cannot have the chocolate neither can any of you.

      SP tamping down on UK dinner - I thought of it. Yes it can be A cause but it will not be THE cause. I am guessing the channel subscription revenues they earn from overseas viewers outranks that and it will be that money + the advertising rates of that slot due to teh national and international reach of IPK that they will be more bothered about in a comparitive manner.

      If IPK is a golden egg laying goose, SP gets revenue and visibility as a nayi soch channel, BS gets visibility for his fans and Pangalosean gets money from channel (ROI / profits?). They all would like this happy state of affairs to continue in a good way for a while. 4 Lions on the other hand if they are creators and the product is now owned by channel already have reaped what they could from this - new serials on the prime time slot on SP and Channel V, recognition for being love story magicians, their characters won awards and established their forte. Plus if BS is no longer contracted to them and they do not have that sword to hang over teh channel's head, what do they gain with the show going on otehr than time and asset investment from their end? By Nov, their new show would have been a month old and it will be competing Honge Judaa Na Hum and Madhubala I think. So it will need to do good to make a mark with the audience when TRPs come back end of the year / early next year. (I think they purposely tried to tank TRPs which refused to go below 2.3 and then TAM has suspended TRP when they had hoped for anotehr TRP dive for channel to pull it off in upcoming months)

      As for being fed up people going on leave, I have seen news articles of actors on other shows going on leave or participating in otehr shows yet the story was not being diluted. Here time and again actors absence is being used as an excuse for poor product quality. And like in any company, people do not wake up one morning and say I am on leave next 2 days - come on we see people shooting IPK wvene when sick and such. SO is it then a matter of poor planning always?

      And finally on recent epis - is it simply a case of Gul and Co serving notice period knowing they are anyways parting ways with teh show and not being bothered with what work they are putting in and its quality?

      I do feel bad for Khushi, it was damned if I do and damned if I don't ...

      I am actually madder with the family ... they were the ones who told her not to celebrate his birthday, not to wish him ... and at the dining table it suddenly became -'we didn't wish him because Khushi told us not to!' If she had indeed told them, but they HAD wished him for so many years, they could have continued doing the same thing! That's why I was confused on Monday - do the family normally wish him or do they not?

      It would have been far better if Khushi and the family had wished him, got the usual spiel back about 'I told you I don't want my birthday celebrated' ... and THEN quietly gone about their business as though it was an ordinary day. Not wishing him made it seem as though Khushi was manipulating him ... which was not nice.

      I told you na I was apprehensive seeing that precap and want to see how it plays out. I knew these guys will hit doscordant notes. I could have used all those scenes but strung it together differently to give same result but with more sensitivity and nuances.

      You know Khushi being firm with no tears would have worked that scene. Plus that one dialogue which I could hit the dialogue writer for writing and the director for allowing.

      And I swear the SKD in the blog and shiddat posts are stalked. Did you realize they took many elements from the SKD in last Fri post and on shiddat post.

    Why can't the new lady character be after Akash?

    Wait don't answer, let me do the honors:

    It is his fugly shirt, whatever happened to the red one for which he was actually named junior hotwa?

    Maybe this is what happens when you come on the set and do not get to act but to read books.

    Maybe Akash has joined Shyam aka Abhaas's GYM and taking the term screen space too seriously

    That was an illfitting shirt or he indeed has bulked up, Biwi kay absence is laddoo phooting:)

    The point, nothing really, it is just lot of fun to talk about Akash:)

      tho it might come as a shock to the Bs phangurls but now i see the real intent of the PH...there are testing the waters for akash popularity..LOL madhura toh use hi milni chahiye...bas bol diya...

      Wohi tohhhhhhhh Rekhs, I am telling you Akash/Akshay are being woefully underestimated and underutilized.

      GARGIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII, You don't have to tell me anything about your source but do pass it on that Akash bitwa has severe Vitamin D(ialogue) deficiency, so long as they give him and us that, I don't care what happens to the rest of the story..I don't anyway, bas bol diya!!!

      Akash Payal chemistry was non existent but his sense f humour and chemistry comes through with all the other characters. He is the most neglected character of ipkknd.

      In fact, I would have liked it if this new lady was a replacement for Payal and maybe even the chemistry cold have happened. They brought a bubbly for akash. Yech :-(

      where u choose anon...on reply as type the name Usha under name/URL when u r asked to choose...it will be saved..and frm the next time, u can choose usha there and wont have to type it there....hope it helps...

      Yes, it has been fun but i never expected anything better from this PH. As soon as the 18 months were up, i thought, wow, like a 9 month pregnancy, this PH runs true to form. They should patent their strategy.
      I am sure in 18 months time even Qubool hai fans will be repeating exactly the same comments. So I am quite calm actually.
      Just fell in love with arnav and khushi like i loved Maan and Geet. Just refused to be emotionally involved as i did with GHSP. :-(

      aww that was so cute, and non-creepy, a simple heartfelt fan's wish.. and somehow made me feel better for the actor, going through the pathetic PR in his life.. i guess he should hire some of his fans to do his publicity for him!!

      yes j...his fans will do a gud job yaar and they will do it for free...
      but i believe in one thing...whatever these issues may be...there are some people who are destined for special success and irrespective of the tuf times they go thru...they will come shining thru each time simply becos of they have the good wishes of so many people who love them so much despite not knowing anything about the real person...thats the joy of goodwill, it keeps adding even when u don't hunt for it!!
