Mon 2/4 - 221 ... Nani is da Champion!!!

Mon 2nd April

*Quick update* - Arnav playing sulky brat, Khushi annoyed at his ghamand again ... and then neatly turns the tables on his HMC act ... for Nani's sake. Nani is not fooled ... Senior Cupid in action :)

I love music, have been following JJWS and the singers, so I enjoyed the music acts ... loved the Mami-Khushi dancing jodi in the wings :))

Arnav Bitwa sulking as usual all through, trying his best to get out of watching the show ... but voh kehte hain na ... jab poori shiddat se khuch maango, toh saari kayanath gets busy to make that happen ... and Nani wasn't going to let Arnav bitwa off that easy! And the entire R family is on her side ... Bitwa doesn't stand a chance =)) Love it when Akash acts the determined 'I'm a joru ka ghulam and proud of it' hubby! :)

Why was Bitwa skulking in the wings watching Biwi get ready? I thought he was sulking ... was he waiting for a chance to get those keys from Nani? Or was he just niharofying some ... and then some more? ;)

Lots of niharofying of Biwi by Bitwa today ... when is he going to notice that she is on great terms with every single member of his family, with one glaring exception ... the Snakewa ...? Or does he include that as a measure of her guilt as well?

And the Heer Ranjha play will happen tomorrow ...

Barun's acting was a little off today ... the seesawing between the glaring and the niharofying didn't quite gel. Khushi though is definitely back on track ... and back to the much loved character she was. And when Khushi is back on track, the episode is good ... for me ;)

*edited*
So Friday's last scene was indeed about the Ego ... as admitted by the man himself, much to Khushi's baffled shock - how can a person be so full of pride? Just to deny her a shred of credit, he went through all the drama?
And he admits without a trace of guilt - that's what I am ... that's what makes me Arnav Singh Raizada ...
And their conversations are getting longer and longer ... they are actually beginning to talk to each other, he admits his flaw without flinching ... that's me, take it or leave it ...
But she still gets in the last word ... she still stole the credit, rightfully or wrongly ... his voice returned with her kadha, he admitted it with her Bollywood antic ...
And before he can make a comeback to that one, which would have been difficult, as it held the ring of truth ... Khushi changes tracks effortlessly with a bright smile ... it's all right, stop apologising, I've forgiven you already ... :))
He's baffled and angry with it ... he apologize? she's forgiven him? Didn't he just swear that wouldn't happen ... is she mad ...?
And he's totally taken aback by the HMC act ... until she informs him silently that it's for Nani's benefit ... turning the tables on him with a vengeance ...

Nani (watching the poolside scene from the living room? Ok, I caught the blooper on second watch, on first watch it just looked a little strange :)) ) ... and Khushi goes to do damage control ... Nani however is much smarter than both Bitwa and Bitiya put together .... she ain't matriarch for nothing! So Bitwa is firmly stampeded into dropping all the participants off for the competition ... Damaadji stays back for another try at the locker ...
And Nani craftily takes the car keys ... for the first time Bitwa actually offers to carry bags for Biwi, but she refuses, he has enough weight to carry already ... that of his ego! And Nani realizes these two madcaps need major help! =))
And she does the needful by simply refusing to return his keys - you can't bully or browbeat your grandmother!

Shyam hunting frantically for the file, his latest obsession ... yippeee, I caught a piece of symbolism here (Dia pats self on back :)) ) ... he leaves his raksha dhaga behind on the locker ... a sign that the divine protection Anjali keeps invoking for him has been removed?
And Shyam shows that brainlessness in the RM is infectious ... where is Arnav's wallet? Duh, man ... a man usually carries his wallet with him when he goes out, you know! =))

Arnav arguing with Nani ... give me my keys ...
Nani pulls his cheeks ... there, there, dear, be a good boy now, sit quietly at the table ... your wife, aunt, grandmother and bhabhi are participating, you need to be here ... run along now, and don't worry me ...
Khushi is distraught ... Nani's clothes haven't arrived .. Nani, the expert planner in action ... did she plan all this so quickly? Smart lady! A new set of clothes ordered ... easy as pie!

Arnav tries to bully his siblings ... doesn't work, Nani has everyone taped up ... Anjali won't let him go, Akash has lost his own car keys to Nani already ... besides, he's under threat of watching his wife's performance ... again, priorities very clear here ... Biwi first, bhai and the rest second ... Arnav bitwa, kuch seekho!!!
Anjali asks Shyam to intercede ... but Arnav is not going to listen to Jeejaji of all people ... he's going to get the keys from Nani and leave.

Khushi still nervous about Nani's clothes ... a furious ASR comes striding in, and bang!
And barely has Arnav got the words out ... can't you watch where you're going, Khushi promptly holds his head and bangs it again ... she doesn't want to grow horns :))

*edit rest tomorrow*

  1. Nahi Nahi Nahi Nahi(Stomping feet Khushi holi style).....What the hell is happening?

Arnav is going to participate when it is supposed to be an all women show with saas and their respective bahus*head desk*

Who liked the majnu....err....Ranjha Arnav today?I didn't.....It seemed too random and sudden.

I mean this guy is ASR....For me ASR-Khushi love story is on par with the greatest love stories of our times, so why are we being subjected to this?

Payal being sidetracked by a fellow competitor, Do I smell a conspiracy here, Will that other bahu convince Payal to somehow throw the dance and Payal will end up messing the dance on purpose.

I hope not, I want Payal & Mamiji to have some sort of understanding....enough of saas bahu politics.

Somebody EITHER PAY THE EDITOR MORE OR FIRE HIM/HER....What pathetic job with editing was that?

I loved everyone and everything except Arnav-Khushi today. The song performances were good.

Loved how Nani is upto something....Mamiji's dance, Mamaji's cute presence, Akash sweetly admitting he has been threatened by Nani, Anjali & Yes Shyam...(Lage raho babua, ab tum par hi saari ummeed tiki hai).

Okay, Didnt Shyam put the key in his own pocket on Friday or did he put it back on ASR' s Wallet, confused about that.

Leaving hints I hope Arnav finds it and starts exploding for a valid reason and goes after Shyam.

Maybe I will feel better after reading everyone's take here.

Dia: Both are not following up on the leads dropped by the other. Khushi is not following up on the big hurt that she is supposed to have caused and Arnav is not registering how much she cares for him, how she has become an integral member of his family. Till the truth becomes known to atleast one of them, I am afraid, the connection between me & Arhi which is on a vacation right now, won't come back.

    1. DANDAAA for the editors! i have been noticing for the past two weeks.. cutting out crucial dialogues.. patching in old scenes.. messing with the flow of the scenes..

    2. Hehe ... maybe I was distracted ... I didn't notice - where were the editing bloopers? Will check on re-watch :)

Why did they cut short the 'hum tum ek parde meing band ho' bit ... what was the point of shooting it if it was a blink-and-you-miss-it scene? They didn't kiss under the parda, did they ;) Oh wait, is that the editing you were talking about?

I thought Shyam left the key hanging in the locker ... didn't Arnav find it there and suspect anything? Or did TF put it back in the wallet?

Good point, Shweths ... is that why Khushi will refuse the trophy? That it was supposed to be saas-bahu women only competition? Or will it be what Aaru said in yesterday's post? About giving him credit and not keeping any for herself?

  2. Khushi back on track, very rightly said Dia.....loved the way she cared for Bitwa when the rod hit him... and he just loved it....Nani rocks...chikni chameli is her fav song, can it get any better, btw, wasn't she the same woman who blasted LA for dancing on character dheela... hehehe....

me too episode likey... loved it wen snake's raksha dhaga got stuck to the wardrobe.. as if DM herself wanted to phasofy snake... she has realised that Bitwa's dimaag has no intention of coming back from alaska....

loved the way Bitiya asked him about his ghamand... and the way she changed her act on Nani's arrival... but so many clues for Bitwa, n he still stuck at square one... when will he start thinking Dia... m loosing my hopes big time....

    How's your Father doing.....

    1. Thanks so much, Geetu and Anon ... he's doing a bit better, thank God ... still in hospital, but recovering. I'll be in Delhi for the week, hopefully he should be back home in a few days. So am able to enjoy the episodes ... am happy for the lighter track, lifts my mood!

  4. LOVED the epi!! :D naniji, u rock.. :D and she loves "chini chameli"? seriously? :P btw @ geetanjali, I agree with u.. when nani said it was her fav song the same thought ran across my head "wasnt this the same woman that blasted La off for dancing on character dheela?" or maybe because it was just La in general! :P another side note about chikni chameli - I don't know if anybody of u guys know this...but the tune of chikni chameli is a complete rip off from a very famous marathi song - kombdi palali (the hen is running :P) if anybody of u guys love the song, then I would suggest, don't watch the original..it will ruin chikni chameli for u.. :P me being a marathi girl, I have literally doted on the original song hence chikni chameli has NO value for me whatsoever! :|

anyway..coming back to the episode...for me it was complete of symbolism.. have yet to listen to the second song completely, but loved the way they focussed on ArHi during the key words of the song... loved how Arnav was niharofying her as she spent time with his family members.. the RVs were ok for me..not too great, seemed a bit forced initially, but the resurrected themselves with the way she cared for him when the rod fell on her head..

the BEST part, though, was when nani and K were reciting the story of heer-ranjha..and the key line : shaadi ke din, dono ki maut ho gayi.. :) again an undeniable symbolism wrt ArHi.. in our story, the Ranjha eats the poison fed by Shyam and ends up dying inside with the truth that K doesnt love him.. and K ends up dying on her marriage day with the complete realisation of the kind of selfish and ruthless person that Arnav is.. amazing! CVs, take a bow! :)

can't wait for tomo.. oh and yes, Shyam's raksha dhaaga being stuck in Arnav's cupboard.. loads of speculations abt that.. ideally Arnav/Khushi should notice it since its their cupboard..but anjali seems to anyway be lurking around their bedroom every now and then so there's every possibility of her noticing it.. also, even if Arnav notices it, how much is the possibility that he will know what it stands for and whose it might be? :P esp considering how happily his brain is holidaying right now.. :P on the other hand if khushi notices it, then she will know immediately what it is, but I dont know if she knows it belongs to shyam.. IF..just IF anjali notices it and puts 2+2 together with shyam lurking in the bedroom the previous day, his talk about the property papers and his lurking around to the room yet again, today.. then she might have a seed sown in her mind too.. but I doubt that the third will happen, simply because anjali is tooo pati-vrata to think that practically and obejectively of shyam..

there is a poll circulating on IF about who will notice the dhaga first.. vote for fun if u guys want to! :P -

    1. Mads, I am very impressed ... I didn't notice the symbolism of the dying on the wedding day at all :)) I have obviously been spending very little time on IF ... or you've been spending too much! :D

The niharofying and RV's were not too great because Barun's expressions were off today ... there was too much switching between Arnav's sulking and looking for the keys and then getting caught up in Khushi, then looking for keys again, then niharofying ... and he didn't do a good job ... there should have been something more ... like literally shaking himself ki what am I doing looking at her ...

Watch Sanaya when she 's enjoying the song, then suddenly feels that something is missing and looks back and sees no one ... and then looks up to see him in front ... the nuances are all there ... or even when Khushi is blowing on Arnav's face and suddenly realizes he's looking at her ... the way her expressions change fluidly ... they weren't so fluid with Barun, his changes were very flat ...

Will do detailed update after the 11.30 repeat ... and discuss Shyam then ... I got a call in the middle, so missed part of his scene.

    2. Hey whats the symbolism of dying on wedding day...whats that??.....kya ho raha hain...i am maha confused...first of all u have strain to hear BS....then all this drama....u have to pay attention in every scene hoping that u can understand when the signs are explained later....nahin toh...read the symbolism and then see the epi again....

I have not taken so much trouble for the progress of my own love story ever....

      Delete
    3. yes mads, the symbolism was there.. and extra focus on ODB's shocked expression..he did not know that story, and is struck at how it parallels his own.. so, that dialogue affected him.

and the niharofying.. dia, I am sure the scene was edited out of its essence, hence the disconnect. also, remember the hawa ka jhoka(that always used to be there when they were near each other)? this was khushi's hawa ka jhoka.. CVs, take note.. we want the hawa.. however cheesy it is.

and her blowing on his forehead.. i was remembering the hawa.. and i'm sure he was too.. for the RV came there.

    4. Rekha, you made me laugh out loud *rofl* ... less trouble in the progress of your own love story :D
But yep, Barun, please repeat after me ... ENUNCIATE!!!!

Jaya, do you think ODB got the symbolism? It escaped me, I have to confess ... the bit about poisoning the sweets ... his meetha moment of confession was poisoned by the sankewa's words ... mads had to enlighten me!

I liked the blowing on his forehead scene ... that was very sweet!

Good good that your daddyjee is better. more jadoo ki jhappis to him from all of us to get well soon. shiddat!!

And can I write about all of last week - i guess I will end up writing a lot again. so must ask you if that will be ok. yes i finally saw all the epis!!

And to me today's CCKKP scene - kyunki heer ke bina ranjha ka koi wajood nahi tha - khushi the heer in person; arnav the ranjha is a reflection in the mirror.

aakhir sheeshe ki parchaaiyi ka apne aap main koi wajood nahi hota - usi tarah khushi ke bine arnav ka koi wajood nahi :)

  5. today's episode was cute. forgetting that the story NOW is in any way related to the original story, I have decided to follow the current track as a different story altogether.. a romcom, as it is.

    loved today's bits.

bitwa's nakhre to nani, bitiya's unconscious care for him... aww she really thinks he is her own.. what happened under the curtains??

i think one rabba ve (words) was needed there.. instead they inserted the title track there somewhere.. good touch.

mamiji and the stranger voiceovers.. wow. did you notice not even one dialogue was said directly to mami?

another person calling payaljee.. calling her off to the side? (great mystery!)

heer ranjha costume by mistake ? could you be any more obvious? (nani, tussi great ho!)

    and bitiya happily wears hers?????
atleast her hubby had the sense to ask.. if it was not the thing you practiced for, why are you going on stage? ROTFL

altogether, funny episode. now that I have no expectations, i find the cameraman is really talented. editing sucks, though.

  6. Dia, glad to see ur post...hope ur father is getting better...all the best

considering my expectations were low, i could enjoy the epi!! I enjoyed Shivam's performance...(dia...i too follow music based reality shows as much as possible, Shreeram, Shivam, Torsha, Irfan, are all particular favourites)

hey shweths...i get what u r saying...my last week was spent in trying to make sense of whats happening in ARHI land...
I am not sure what they intend to show thru the Heer-ranjha act, now it seems this aspect of "signs" is a given in every episode.
I can accept any explanation except the star-crossed one....and defi not for the reasons these legendary love folk tales failed to have happy endings...I have always believed extraneous considerations can never be the reason for failure of love between two people.

On ASR acting as Ranjha, all i can say, it was a fait-accompli situation....ASR made some feeble attempts to get away....not sure why he couldn't succeed in booking a taxi but i will put it down to creative licence. A has never liked Khushi losing so we give him some marks for coming to her rescue there...
Shweths, I have decided to suspend logic on why these two are not introspecting....and for the time being looking to just see how this great "trust" is going to be built on instances that CVs are showing..they did well with the voice in the beginning to mess it up later...lets see...

I thot A was forced to show that he was mesmerised/amused/awestruck/hopelessly in love/irritated/impatient all in a span of two-three frames..Not surprised that it was looking a bit forced almost for BS...poor guy!!Its tuf being ASR

I was laughing at that SBS clip on Daljeet where it seems when she improvises during a scene, BS says Dolly ki baatein Dolly hi janein....found it very cute..If these guys end up reading R&R, they must be joking about how seriously we comment on scenes...ROFL!!

    3. Rekha, thanks ... dad's doing better :)
And your last para *rofl* ... true, bitwa had to switch between so many emotions - no wonder the guy got confused :)

I missed the Sunday JJWS :( me too, I like a lot of the contestants this time and am looking forward to watching the show. Takes up so much time on weekends though!

And yes, they did set up the Ranjha act of Arnav ... he was manipulated into it very smartly by Nani :) must say, for an intelligent business tycoon, the guy is mush in the hands of his womenfolk ... they all know exactly how to play him ... And of course, he doesn't like to see Khushi lose ...

I have to admit, I don;t know the details of the stories either - Heer Ranjha, Sohni Mahiwal or Laila Majnu ... only very sketchy details ... isn't Sohni the one where she sets off across the river with a ghada? And do all of them end in tragedy?

      Delete
    4. Dia...glad to hear that...
I saw the sunday JJws for abt half hour...unfortunately Rajdeep was ousted...i think a poor choice of song and the rendition was a bit weak...Torsha was also not up the mark that day...anyway lets see..

Sohni mahiwal is the one with the ghada...Poonam Dhillon and Sunny Deol have acted in a movie of that name...Bol do meetein bol soniye, bhed dilon ke khol soniye..a famous song from that movie...Actually Sohni mahiwal story forms part of a series of tragic romances (7 in number) and there u see most of them based in the same area, chenab, indus etc. All seven are by the same author, of which Sohni mahiwal is most popular.

I don't know much about Laila majnu...except it is an arabic tale...
In respect of symbolism, i think Heer-ranjha would be better choice in terms of indicating the poison in the relationship coming to the fore on the day of the marriage.Situation are not comparable but the symbolism can be drawn

      Delete
    5. yeah Dia, sohni is the one with the ghada and all tragedys :(

      Delete
    6. Rekha,

      I agree on inconsistencies.
When i sat down and wrote it all down, it sounded pretty good to my ears but yeah the delivery of some scenes could have been better. When they set their mind to it, they can do a fab job. I actually end up liking epis with minimal dialogues and more of actions. The dance last week as well as the bedroom sequences I thought were among the better moments - not just cos of RVs. I am glad they are primarily sticking to the piano RV. Wish they would come up with a RV suing the flute for a haunting feel. (Oh did you not love it when rehman sang Aaoge jab o saajna accompanied by flute?)

Well they can laugh all they want but their idea of a successful show is having the audience go gaga over it. So I am guessing they enjoy all the attention. just not sure how seriously they take some of our views.

Like Mona says this blog lets us all talk about characters and their feelings - it empowers us to give life to 2 fictional beings. We rarely speak of Barun and Sanaya. It is mostly Arnav this, Khushi that and as long as the creatirs never forget to be true to these characters, they cannot go wrong by much.

Actors preferences, schedules, deadlines everything can be worked around. Moral for them is when tehre are actors going on leave trying to have filler tracks will bomb - it has always happened. And also as they have re-engaged teh family gradually over last 2 weeks, they need to do more of this and build other tracks in teh context of ArHi. payash are a start. Even a nani monologue may be nice. Guptas seem to have been released from duty totally. Maybe buaji can make an apperance. Missing her hai re NK!!

the story seems to be in place but they keep playing around with the delivery and what happens when. Not sure who is to blame for this.

  7. On First go liked the episode, had anyways low expectation. Agree with shewtha - all women show and ASR? WT WT ?at least show one pair with male and female*head desk*
Yes mad lots of symbolisms today. Loved the initial tiff between Arhi espl. Bitwa saying his ego is what makes him ASR! Well done CV's. !!! Yes Dia Bitiya turning table on HMC at last! Again loved the head bang and RV there. the best thing i liked there was when ODB bangs head he lashes out at her, but when he gets hurt ODG goes all brisk with rubbing, and Bitwa noticing that was cheery on the cake. But other two RV’s didn’t work for me, seemed forced. Again loved bitwa niharofying his biwi espl with Nani and MB one. And again the song with "tu hi mera" loved how CV's did focus on Arhi at right words. thank you for that CV's. And also liked where Khushi explains the death of Heer and Ranja on their wedding day. @ Mads I did make the same connection, hence loved it core, more because Sans with her voice modulation took Khushi back to her marriage day and how khushi was dead inside and same for Barun's expression, although it could have been more completed there.( Again Cv's pls complete the emotional expression!!!)
Over all good episode and with today’s episode K line on his ego its going the way we think it will. K realising her feeling for A will be there but it will not be as a real realisation of love. That will take some time and should take time. an abrupt realization is not something i want. May when we have that track of Khushi falling sick and A taking care. That would be more right time for the realisation.

For NQ and MB they were good and progressed, just hope Payal does not do anything stupid!!
Can’t wait to see with what lines Arhi express their feelings..!!

    1. aaru, that HMC was cute.. and the head bang even more..(I dont want horns.. sho shweet) I liked that they used shivam's song to focus on the couple.. very nicely done. and yes, her retelling of the heer ranjha story was so,so senti. almost like a revelation.. but then he asks nani, "your stupid si love story" so did it hit him or not?

bitiya falling sick.. that spoiler came before khushi got the sneezies.. so i guess the rumour was about khushi catching the sneezes, nothing more serious.. and yes, if khushi falls sick, who will carry the story forward? more than half the dialogues in every episode are by ODG. I dont think a serious illness track will ever be there.

  8. so, this is the blooper list.. because I watched the episode again.

    1. poolside scene. they are standing in the middle. she gestures to her left.. which will be in their room.. instead we see nani standing in the living room. aww cmon! is it such a hogwarts that there are hidden doors everywhere? would it have been so difficult to have nani come to their (open) door to tell ODB about getting ready?

    2. snake in the room.. he's searching for the "wallet", knowing that arnav went ? dialogue blooper.
also, he did not have time to put back the keys after hiding from payal yesterday.. continuity blooper. (but okay, maybe he left it on the locker and arnav later locked it.. beleivable.)

    3. nani-bitwa corridor scene.. the people in the background.. they were all hurrying along so many times behind the focus :D ...at one point, there was even a tussle!

but naniji, you're spectacular at bachpana!

4.the bag (that she took for pag phere..) contained only "her clothes"...and they were mami's krishna costume.. WT? was this the same bag that bitwa said was very heavy?
    P.S. I loved ODG's earrings..
and "DEVYANI Raizada" wow what a pretty name!

5.bitiya and nautanki were dancing happily to chikni chameli.. did they even realize that they were apparating every other scene? btw, loved the almost hi5 .

another question.. why were they the only ones dancing? atleast two three other ladiesfolk dancing whold have added to the scene.

    6. bitwa's cell battery dies. he cannot talk to akash or di for a phone? at least if he was going to the table to talk to them when he sees bitiya's smile, sees her drop the earring, the whole scene would make better sense. (gosh i'm turning director now!)

P.s. Dia, glad to hear that your dad's health is improving.. our prayers are with you!

  9. loved the way A took the knife from K and said mera ego hi mujhe asr banata hai ....but yes you are right Dia ....his expressions were a bit off......maybe he wasn't that angry afterall ,.......anger is what makes full blown ASR

aap rehne dijiye .....aap ko aap ke ego ka wajan bhi toh uthana parega (or whatever the exact dialogue was) me rofled

i was dreading the curtain sequence for some reason ...... Loved the way they did it ..... With the flow ....... Hitting again .... Humein sing nahi chahiye .....hehehehe ....rods falling both hitting bitwa ...... Divine DM .....pehli baar mein chot dodno ko lagi ....but bitwa had to shout at bitiya ......phir bitiya all in parwa mode .....good good get back to the characters

at last we get a real awareness scene from bitiyas side ......kitna miss kiya aap ko hawaji ......keep the breeze on

mami almost hi five-ing khushi .....pehle khane ki tareef ab ye ...... Not bad

well nani ka kya kehna ....taking the keys, pulling asr's cheeks, making sure she has everyone in her plan and the most important not being fooled by HMC act. As far as lavanya is concerned, she dint have any problem with La and her lack of sense or goon gaan once she started respecting and caring for people around her and ofcourse A gave in to marry. Thats what Nani wanted ...... A get MARRIED to a girl who is caring, doesn't matter if she is not apt in shloks or a good cook. She emphasized in it all just because of the way A was treating the case.
Ranjha male hai toh male costume hi bejhenge na ?! :D :D :D

      the poolside scene..
he was not angry when he was explaining about his ego.. he was "talking" to her.. see, he opens up to her.. he is trying to show her his truth.. she has become the only one he wants to explain himself to..

and just like that, another shiddat completed.. they have become each other's listening post.

      the curtain scene..
he realizes that she does indeed care for him.. she won't rub a bump on his head if she hates him.. and she realizes that he is affected.. he is not as much a stone heart as she thought..

yes sama, nani's problem with la was exactly what you described. but good that she notices that all's not well in arhiland.. ODG needs some champions when all hell breaks loose.

snakewa's dhaaga.. i think it symbolises that he is losing the protection of his wife's love aand god's blessing.. means he will get caught soon :)

Loved the HMC act initiated by biwi; she's going to be fun once they're actually in love - MU over - heartbreak and all that jazz over... Think she can make bitwa go all week on the knees too:-)

And love the part where she falls he catches her- patent IPK - what I loved - no RV but the danda fell on bitwa ( Shweths was soooo remembering you DBG) and she's all 'are you ok???' no qualms about holding him , proximity nothing- no prob...

  11. Dia,

glad to know your dad is better - hope he will be whistling his way back home before your visit comes to an end.

    And ladies,
good episode and coz we expected less - it seemed more!

    me likes:
    - ASR accepting his ego is huge and that is what makes him ASR - perfect! just in character and him knowing it!
    - Nani manipulation both odg & odb - not just one
    - Mami joining nani and Khushi to enjoy the dance - she really loves her family no matter how crude she may be
    - I actually liked ODB's expressions - to me he seemed to be fighting with himself - no i am not enjoying this, i just want my keys and i am out of here, these ladies are crazy but he could not help smiling at his dear girl enjoying with his family - of course SI was perfect and i guess that's why BS's not so perfect acting is noticed (ps. @ someone who mentioned why he did not get a taxi - he said -oh battery - meaning his phone battery was dead!)
    - that ODB did not like nani sending his wife on stage without practice - he does not want to see her get embarrassed! - will lead to him playing ranjha
    - the head rub RV was cute
    - i agree with shwetha that they actual thread is lost but i get teh feeling that they are headed back in the right direction (or is it just wishful thinking) - but the symbolism of death on the wedding night (when they were about to unite after a lot of struggle) was very clear and makes me hopeful of an interesting week
    - that nani is so blatantly biased towards ODG - La was lambasted for Character dheela and now all of a sudden she likes this song?? who is she fooling?

What did not work for me:
    - don't like full songs here - its not a bollywood movie so a full CC - nah, i would have been happier with a smaller part - just to show the ladies dancing and ODB smiling (like the other song - just a bit and that too parts that actually told the story)
    - no other male leads - but then there were lots of men running around with costumes - so are they also participating?

@Aarthi - ODG knows she loves him - she is just not saying it out loud to protect her self respect - ODB never shows he cares so why should she - she was very ready to respond just before the wedding remember - it is after the wedding - the change she has seen in him (and the past diwali experience) - she feels he is incapable of love and hence is holding her peace, trying to convince herself kay koi farak nahi parta, but she knows how she feels (remember her accepting his bindi - that's a very clear indication, her dialogue before the mirror - just before she went up to the terrace on the fateful night, even today - when she looks back to find him - she doesn't want to but she cant help herself just like OSB cant!)

    ReplyDelete
  12. @Mona, agree with you that ODG knows that she has a different feeling for him and its special hence all the acceptance of before the marriage. As far as I remember K has never accepted or acknowledge her feelings as love, or has she?? Even after the Bindi scene she never accepts that she is in love, she says may be he does like me as I do. And it may be love. She is neither sure about or acknowledges her own feelings and is still fighting it. While A had fought it but before the terrace scene he had acknowledge his feelings as love and wanted to say it her, hear from her the same thing that she loves him. While K went to the terrace with idea to know if he feels the same about her but never to say it.
After marriage for A its battle between love and hate" Kash mai tumse payaar karpata" while for K its battle between hate and love, "Kash mai tumse nafrat kar pati" she hates him for dragging her into the marriage breaking her dreams and trust in love, she has put that feeling under lock and key, behind the walls of hate similar as Arnav has done but his love is coupled by the hate. while for Khushi even if she tries to hate him she can’t because her hate is moulded by her love which is behind the walls she has created with what he has done with his hate, That wall has to be broken for Khushi, which can be done only if she sees A's love which comes above his hate at the most important times - like the pool scene where A lashes out at her and K is hurt when he closes the door due to his hate and anger. Similarly all her actions when A's is in pain or hurt, - her wall is crumbling slowly. When this wall will be broken that's when she will see his love above that anger and that’s when she will accept and acknowledge her feeling as love.- her love above her anger actually. And for me that can be only acknowldege by her when they are not portraying or intoxicated. It has to be a common ground with no need to act or play.
Hope I made some sense, not good with putting my thoughts in words!!

SN : there is a post on IF with some abstracts of Arshad Khans interview saying Shyam's Revalation Close !!! Don’t know its authenticity here is the link :http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2914363

    Replies
    1. oh Aarthi, i completely agree to your points on ODG's internal struggle, her wall slowly crumbling and all that - but my point was that the struggle is more intense because she loves him - remember before diwali - she thought love would be all stars and music and seeing the guy you love everywhere - and then all that happens and she says DM - i had asked for one sign and you gave so many and then she realizes why she does not want to marry Shyam (who in all other respects was a good match- dettol rinse - at that point of time - as per the story line then)
it was after the Diwali night - after ODB says that she means nothing to him that she shuts herself behind the wall - thats when she starts fighting her feelings for him - saying she hates him (every time she says it - i have always felt she was trying to remind herself rather than tell him!) -
Hence in my mind - the minute she would have found out why he married her in haste and that he too loves her (and always did)- she would have melted in a second - and then the love hate thing would have died forever (and we all agree that once ODG finally accepts her love - there is no looking back for her) -
Hence to continue with the storyline they had to add the 6 month line - remember the six months line was added as an after thought - it had to be done so that the proposal sounded like an insult - and all the bad things ODB is doing is all to add to the insult so that her anger can survive and she can atleast continue to hurt (in interest of keeping the story alive) - though i for one cant see ODG suffer :(
ps. love this blog - two absolute strangers can discuss a fictional character with such passion that we can actually bond over this :D :D

    2. Aaru, loved your take on Khushi, will try to come back with my two cents if I have time ... basically I agree :))

I don't think that Arshad Khan interview is authentic ... for one, Barun was not the first choice for ASR, it was KSG for a long time, even the name was taken from DMG - Armaan Malik/Arnav Malik ... Riddhima Gupta/Khushi Kumari Gupta ... I think Sanaya was considered well before Barun was finalised.

Also, which director would say that there are lots of 'hot' scenes coming? And that they didn't pay much attention to certain characters - like Lavanya and Payal? Doesn't ring true at all.

Am I the only one who found Barun lacking in expressions last night? Not the initial rabba ve in the curtains, but the part with Shivam's song ... the switch between "I want my keys" and "I'm lost in Khushi" was too abrupt.

      Delete
    3. Agree totally Dia,
I don't have any background info on this but any director saying that Payash was a last minute addition....is really strange....its almost like saying we don't have a story, we just keep adding scenes when the occasion demands

I could not connect with BS yesterday ...right from the first scene....tho it got better in that curtain scene

i couldn't hear the ego dialogue for a start....and yes....i think partly even the dialogues were to blame for the scene u mentioned...what did he mean by "thats it, let me call for a taxi" just after witnessing K and Nani bond..crappy...similarly to that dialogue "wallet toh yahin tha"....from Shyam...there was no sense in it.

To an extent, i would blame the juxtaposition of the scenes of Arnav for the expressions mismatch. The challenge of showing he was not willing but he couldn't help himself when he sees K, that too in a specific situation
...ideally, they could have managed if had taken it a little slow...it was too rushed...

Here's wishing your Dad a very speedy recovery. Hope things are well with you. btw, are you a doctor by any chance ? (you don't have to respond if not comfortable :-)

Girls - Just caught the episode. I liked parts of it but most of it felt very repetitive. Looks like the CVs are recycling ideas big time... Loved Nani, she seemed to be getting a lot of screen space these days. The other thing I've noticed is the CVs have been giving all the characters their due screen space . A few weeks ago it was Mami , then it was Mama and now it is Nani's turn. Good strategy, thumbs up CVs!!

I don't know what to expect , so will sit back and enjoy. Logic and IPK just not go hand in hand, A confession of some sorts will happen this week but didn't we go through that in Holi? We ended up right where we had started.

Bye All, Will drop in again when I get a chace,

    Rekha / Dia,
Yep the Heer Ranjha themes fits in because they die of the same poisoned sweet on their wedding day. Also they undergo a separation to live life with others only to come back together but meet a tragic end.

And i am sill stuck at Tumhee ko dil ka raaz bataaayein, tumhee se raaz chupaayein...

  15. I finally managed to google the Heer Ranjha story ... the songs of course are really well known ... especially Yeh Duniya, Yeh Mehfil mere kaam ki nahin and Milo na tum to dil ghabraye ... the words of that one are really apt! But Priya Rajvansh was such a BAD actress!!! *rofl* No wonder I didn't remember the story :D

Will be back later to complete the main post. I think today will be some Mami-Payal drama, so will the Heer Ranjha happen today? Or tomorrow - when IPL starts? That would be a calculated risk by the cv's!

I get goosebumps when i hear "Hai tere saath meri wafaa, main nahin toh kya,
Zinda rahega pyaar mera, main nahin toh kya"

And the number "Aaj socha toh aasoon bhar aaye" from 'Hanste Zakhm" (bad picturisation but what a song!)

"aaj socha to aansoo bhar aaye
      muddate ho gaye muskuraye

  17. Sonu me too dont want it out like this! her biggest mistake!! WT, but can't understand what this confession will lead to? is it necessary for K to confess for A to use his dimaag? and what will be left after the confession?? A happily ever after? *head desk* and what about the trust the CV's were building? is with her telling him that it was her biggest mistake ? or they are trying to take the track where they fight as team? if yes then fine but again where is A's RTRW ?? Khushi forgives him when she knows he did think her as a home breaker.. and then they team up against RRR ??? *head desk* Shwetha keep your Danda ready!!

    1. Aaru,

You are assuming that K saying loving him was her biggest mistake = Arnav telling her about RS. Nope not happening. Even if this is true and she yells it out to him (recall how after the La breakup she told him of her broken engagement and A was shocked, surprised and wondered why she did not tell him). Something similar will happen here too. And then it will be an internal tussle withing A. Believe what she says or believe what he saw. Believe what she does for him or what RS told him. Believe she hates him like she told him or wonder why if she hates him she feels guilt on hurting him.

By calling it her biggest mistake she is nearly doing the same thing Arnav did with her post Diwali by saying that incident meant nothing to him. And now somewhere he does love her. Plus he will see a chance for him to win her back.

Of course what he will construe in terms of since when she loves him and whether he thinks she has stopped loving him we may have to see.

    2. Aaru,

In this context if Hate was a Forbidden Curse like Avada Kedavara! simply saying it will be of no effect. You need to mean it and really wish it. Khushi is incapable of such hate especially for Arnav. She has tried but she can never mean it. It is not her nature. hence her "kaash main aapse nafrat kar paati"

Love to ASR is like the Voldemort - Harry connection - Neither can die while the other lives. Just as harry destroyed the 6 Horcruxes, Khushi is destroying his walls of hate. But destroyin teh last Horcrux / wall while leaving the soul intact will be her biggest challenge. And until that wall exisst Arnav will always have a stance of "kaash main tumse mohabbat kar paata"

RS is like a Boggart. Feed on others weaknesses to scare them. But his undoing will be trying to scare everyone in teh crowd before him. Like Lupin says - half an alien and half a spider are not so scary - rather more comical.

      Delete
    3. Love the HP analogies ... those books are classics!

But I agree - even if Khushi does say it to Arnav, he won't believe her at first ... and he won't tell her about RS for sure. His dimaag won't light up so quickly. First the disbelief will happen ... then the suspicion- could she be speaking the truth, then the further investigation ... so it might not be a bad way to take it forward.

Though ideally I would prefer it if something she says during the HR play makes his batti click on ...

Chalo, we shall see what the cv's come up with ...

I am hoping they don't mess it up. Not sure which combination pulls all those gaffes in the name of pandering to audience. After a long time yday epi makes me see hope. ALso they seem to be in conflict about how to show ASR mergig with Arnav. i would say stick to the pre-Diwali and post engagement guy but not as rough and blunt as he was then in his ASR moods. Puppy dog looks totally dtract from the ASR feel. And yeh someone mentioned cravats - am all for some cravats for the man instead of ties and waistcoats.

Shorter hair and not so much of a devdas look would also help. And can we please have those aviators back. how about a funky version of the ASR music for this new and "improved" Arnav.
