10/4 - 227 ... Gopi Vhau Revisited

10th April Tuesday

Is Saathiya winding up or what? Almost every show I watch is taking potshots at it ... first SGP and now IPKKND ...

The mood I'm in, I enjoyed *rofl*ing over the new Gopi vhau incarnate ... have no idea where the story is going ... not even sure if there is a story any more ... but the entertainment was welcome. The first two minutes showed a semblance of the story though ... Arnav waiting for Khushi, and Khushi telling Lakshmi she was trying to stay out of his way. Once Anjali intervened, it went downhill :( I mean the story ... the entertainment, like I said, was okay.

Haven't watched or even read the SBB/SBS updats so I had no idea what you guys were all talking about with Gopi vhau and Hawaiian shirts in yesterday's post ... I found out today!

Best was Arnav's line ... Swami se toh Laad Governer better tha! =))

Post is late because my server was down ... :(

  1. YAY..soo good to see your update! :)) well, the epi was kind of OK-ish for me today...because I was expecting some kind of continuation with the story-line but I guess it is too much to expect! :-/ especially with the ongoing IPL.. CVs seem to have completely given up..instead of trying to compete with the IPL! :S

and khushi is back with the "100 ways" diary! *HEADDESK* I am actually scared whenever that diary pops up! :S but yes, the entertainment factor was 100%...only I wish it was more like yesterday's...with some hint of the story too! :)

can't wait to see who this bubbly girl is though.. there are rumours that she might be a kid.. :D ROFL! let's see..

  3. Welcome back Dia, Good to see your update!
Well lots of news today. Mohit's show will be after the IPL, so hope it has the same charm as IPK and another show to worth watch.
I like the episode, because Mads I wasn't expecting anything today. So although there was no continuation or move in story I was fine with it.
What I liked was it wasn't all OTT and stupid. We did get some CCKKP. Actually like TQ interaction with A and K, (again it was above my expectation as she didn't go to Nani or TF) that's what Sis normally does, go to your bro and tell him and try to confront.
Although she didn’t give the Ma's letter,TQ did give little gyan on A , even if K used it to irritate him.
Loved the jab on Gopi vahu...
On CCKKP some Shiddat was granted!
    1. Both niharofying each other, loved how he waited for her so that he can confront her, and again there was a small contd from yesterday.
    2. Days are moving fast ???
    3. Loved Bitwa's lines on "Swami se aacha Laad Governor tha". and "Dhayan se"
Moral of today’s episode - Don't use your Mind ,logic or expect to have major move in the story till IPL is over, and you will get entertainment 100%.
Hope these scenes are well used for separation track for both of them!

  5. Dia...glad your posting and checking in with us...:-D

I actually really enjoyed the episode today...The Gopi Vhau spoof was really funny- mostly because of Arnav’s reactions...

I liked how the episode began...at least they gave an explanation for yesterday’s episode if not a continuation...

Personally I found it very cute when Khushi finally goes to sleep bitwa sneaks a peek at his wife; who’s sworn to stay away from him. He obviously can’t tell her he misses her and so makes do with stolen glances and getting his heart fill watching her sleep. Then first thing in the morning he wakes up and glances over to her side of the bed...is she there?-Damn these stupid dabba and tuition business ventures of hers. They’re cutting into my time with my wife!! Doesn’t she get that?

I actually liked Anjali and Arnav’s interaction...she’s the only one who can tell him that biwi is at par if not trumps sister...She very rightly points out that he has to let Khushi take some liberties with him...can’t he see that she’s losing her spark...she’s doing all these things to keep herself happy but what she really needs is for you to open up...(Gotta say Anji read KKGSR to the boot-she’s really unhappy and its showing even if only slightly...and if the most clueless nanand in the world can pick up on this bitwa really needs some help!)

My favourite part of the episode was the Khushi Anjali interaction...I think its very sweet of her to come and give her a little insight and to do so in a completely non patronizing way was really great. I appreciated this touch so IMO good job CV’s...Also how cute were kiddo Arnav and Anjali?? Loved kiddo ASR’s little glare.

Of course Khushi and Arnav are not quite there yet so Anjali’s little insight majorly misfires...I wouldn’t say backfires because any interaction for these two is progress.

Gopi Vhau Spoof (GVS)Scene 1: Shoes please?

Total ROFL moment when Khushi tries to yank of his shoe and Arnav says what have you done? If she’s trying to pull his shoes off its because she’s either put something into them or she’s ruined them...and the thing is you can’t even put that past Khushi, after all she put mango juice in shoes once so what now? And he promptly turns them inside out...

The little dig at SNS...I haven’t seen the show but saw bits of a random precap...The epitome of Agyakari bahu...LOL

    GVS Scene 2: TPOG

Again sweet moment appropriate RV when he’s asleep and in a moment of unguarded love she brushes his hair back...but wait! No! Must stay resolutely in character and immediately musses his hair up again...

The swami routine had me laughing out loud...

Even the her grabbing his leg and him yanking it away but her sill not letting go was really comical...

GVS Scene 3: The shake out

He knows her. Period. Agyakari patni? Yeah right! And he very carefully shakes out his towel...even does ‘phus phus’ to make sure she hasn’t mixed something in his perfume...

    GVS Scene 4:

Aap bilkul phool ke tarah khilenge – angry glarewa- kaante waala phool?...No moving on...you love your damn plants so much na? Now you can roam around with them...Fine pick whichever you want(they’re all equally bad-muhahaha)

She walks away...Again the musical RV well place....very natural...He’s quite fed up and then she walks head long into the door and almost resignedly he says ‘Look out!!’

Poor Arnav...he really does think of everything before settling on the salsa doing gigolo red shirt...Again mami’s reaction-excellent.

Q: Now that KKGSR got rid of his old clothes does that mean he’s going to get a total wardrobe makeover? Or will he dig them back up....vital question please anyone???

    Arnav’s Epic lines...

    1.Who Swami?

2.His temper just barely within control at his demented wife’s antics he shouts ‘Jao’ at HP..a befuddled HP just stands gormlessly...’JAO!!’

    3.Damn kartavya!..I don’t want kartavya..

4.Mujhe nahin pata ki tum kya kar rahi ho...par kuch toh kar rahi ho...

5.Swami se toh laad governor better tha!...

  6. SN 1: Liked how normal they showed Akash and Payal in the morning mami KMH scene....

SN 2: Only Daljeet can look sort of good in a luminescent yellow sari-What the???

SN 3: What is wrong with the stylist? What horrendous earrings was Khushi wearing today?

  7. I didn’t get a chance to post this yesterday but...I love Beauty and the Beast. It’s one of my all time favourite Disney movies and I always watch it on the plane...

The story she told the kids was picked up right from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast...and so were the characters ...maybe Gul and Nissar based IPKKND on Beauty and the Beast...

Beast/Prince: ASR/Arnav (Dark, misunderstood, Stubborn, angsty, but deep down kind hearted and warm...forgotten how to love anyone, slowly learns how to love again only to have his heart broken when he realises Belle doesn’t want to stay with him and lets her go... until Belle really truly comes back to him and saves him...)

Belle: Khushi (Sweet, funny, determined, loves her father and won’t be brow beaten- your quintessential Disney heroine...she’s scared and bewildered by the Beast’s brash and mean behaviour...but she somehow sees past all the bluster he gives everyone else and is able to be both firm and loving with him and remind him of his long forgotten kindness and love)

Gaston: Shyaam (Arrogant and completely delusional, thinks that Belle reciprocates his interest...In the Disney version too Gaston tries to woo a disinterested Belle, hurts her father and turns the whole town against Beauty and the Beast, he stops short at nothing...willing even to murder the Beast...)

Mrs. Potts: Nani (The head of the castle kitchens, turned into a teapot, who takes a motherly attitude toward Belle.)

Maurice: Shashi Babu (In the story no one believes Maurice; Belle’s father. He tries to save his daughter alone...eventually Gaston hurts Maurice and locks him up)

Madame De la Grande Bouche Wardrobe: Anjali –she’s the only woman with a decent sense of dressing…( The castle's authority over fashion, and a former opera singer, turned into a wardrobe. In the movie she’s the one who first pushes Belle to give the Beast a chance...incidentally she also gives belle her first set of clothes in the mansion) ...This character doesn’t fit to the tee as Anji is probably a more important character than Madame De la Grande Bouche Wardrobe...but still similar...

Lumière: Akash (The kind-hearted but rebellious maître d' of the Beast's castle, he has been transformed into a candelabra. He has a habit of disobeying his master's strict rules, sometimes causing tension between them, but the Beast often turns to him for advice and Lumiere immediately takes to Belle championing her to his master)

Babette: Payal (A featherduster and Lumiere's lover. Her only role is as Lumiere’s love interest...No mind of her own she is just there to stand beside Lumiere)

Cogsworth: Mami (The castle majordomo and Lumiere's best friend, transformed into a clock. While he is as good-natured as Lumiere, he is extremely loyal to the Beast...he doesn’t immediately like Belle but nevertheless accepts her for the Beasts sake...Mrs. Potts is always lecturing and telling Cogsworth off...)

Philippe: Laxmi (Belle’s horse with whom she has quite a lot of conversations, her first confidante in the mansion...)

    New Entry...Miss B (Bubbly)...

Chip: Miss B (Mrs. Potts’ kid...asks tonnes of questions and plays a small role in bringing beauty and the Beast together)

....Beauty and The Beast...A Tale as old as time...

" Tale as old as time
    True as it can be
    Barely even friends
    Then somebody bends
    Unexpectedly
    Just a little change
    Small to say the least
    Both a little scared
    Neither one prepared
    Beauty and the Beast

    Ever just the same
    Ever a surprise
    Ever as before
    Ever just as sure
    As the sun will rise

    Tale as old as time
    Tune as old as song
    Bittersweet and strange
    Finding you can change
    Learning you were wrong
    Certain as the sun
    Rising in the east
    Tale as old as time
    Song as old as rhyme
    Beauty and the Beast..."

  11. Dia, very sorry for your loss. From what you told us, your dad had a blessed death, with all family nearby. May God grant him eternal peace. You are in my thoughts and prayers. All good wishes for strength to pass through this difficult time.

p.s. yesterday night I was very busy and could not watch the episode. much later, I came by the blog to see if something interesting did happen.. and saw the news. i was sitting here, crying my eyes out, when my husband chanced by.. why? whats wrong? "Dia's papa passed away" and his expression was "WT? Dia who?"

I cannot explain why in one short month, you are now closer to me than many of my RL friends. but you guys, and this virtual coffee shop, is fast becoming one of the most important things in my life. so what if people only see me tapping away at the PC or browsing on my phone.. there are connections made that are true in my soul.

keep strong, Dia, and her'e hoping that there are many more nok jhok episodes to give CCKKP for you and your mom.

    1. Jaya, thanks so much ... I will always be thankful that I was in time to see him and be near him during his last days ... living abroad away from parents when you know they need you is really, really tough. Thankfully we were all with him when he passed away.

And again thanks to you all for keeping the wishes coming all through - I would carry my lappy to hospital everyday to show my mom all your messages, and she drew a lot of comfort from them. How we all came together as strangers and have become so close ... life is really strange, it gives us gifts in the most unexpected ways.

  12. Dia,
I chanced upon your blog a few days back. Thought I'll just read and not comment since all of you are very good writers.
This is just to tell U I feel so sorry for your loss. Again, thanx for reminding us to take care of our parents. (My mother just returned from abroad after 6 months, and the separation taught me to appreciate her more.)
Thank you once again for starting and maintaining this blog. Take care.

    1. Su, thanks so much for your wishes. I have a very dear friend who has lost both her parents in the last few years, and she was the one who kept urging me to make frequent trips back home to meet my dad when he fell ill. Will always be thankful for her advice - it means I don't have too many regrets now.

And thanks for writing ... always love meeting new readers :) Do keep writing ... here we all love expressing our thoughts on the show, good and bad writing is not the criterion - just the craziness for the show is needed!

  13. loved todays romcom. waise I love the nok jhok. but there was a lot of romance too in today's episode..

his waiting for her.. him watching her sleep.. aww.

line of the day "chote should feel the love.. then you will feel a new chote."
    --------------

    so, Assistant Directorr notes....
    1. she said she moved the plants back to his poolside.. yet she was still downstairs, scared of entering the shaitaan ki haveli. and he was waiting for her.. wouldn't he see her replacing his plants?

and how come there were no plants by the poolside in the bedroom scene?

    2. ASR got ready, without interruption from khushi(who was busy with dabba service), came down..Di was downstairs after aarti , feeding him prasad, talking to him.. and she goes up to find K in the bedroom folding clothes? ??

would have been far better if the 'talk' took place sometime in the afternoon..( i mean, lose the pooja ki thaal!) or maybe the talk happened in anjali's room, later..(ask HP to call khushi or something..)

    3. she cut onions to make tears.. and then made him tea. why was the onions scene not picturised in the kitchen? any particular reason, like "set not ready"?

p.s. ASR does the 'stroking hair away' thing so much better than KKGSR..

    p.p.s. shudh hindi... ROTFL

    4. that convo.. cut in the middle! EDDITORS!!

    5. and then she went to get him water.. why? she just gave him tea.. and he dint even drink that.. did we miss some dialogue there?

after bath. barun is so preciuos here.. esp. after the paani. (applause)
PPS.. khushi vahu's thumka! waah re waah!

ppps: his shirts were black n white? what about the purple, the brown, the green, the blue?? do you think the fangirls forget the colors of his shirts?..."you'll feel like your garden is walking with you" ROTFL
