19/4 - Epi 234 ... How the Other Half Lives ... edtd

19th April Thursday

A very decent episode - a serious toned down Khushi automatically makes for a good episode, I find. Just one person alters the entire tone of the episode. And with a sensible screenplay, the actors' acting improves too.

Before I go on, a comment on IF caught my eye ... ever since SPA and the popularity of BS/SI exploded, the PH (?or the channel) has been exploiting them to the detriment of the show. BS/SI get more screen space now than they ever did, and the villain is missing for days on end. The other actors are used just as fillers, without any thought given to their scenes - wasting their talent. And they all are a very talented lot ... we don't mind watching scenes of Payash-Mami, Nani, Anjali ... as long as they add to the story.
Again, time for the PH/channel to realize that although BS/SI are hugely popular, what caught the eye and the imagination of the viewers was their characters and their story ... destroy those characters, and the TRP's will fall - the popularity of the individual actors may not wane, but for the cv's, its the TRP's which are important. So again - wake up, cv's - get your characters in place and your story moving.

Quick update -
Arnav and munh dikhayi ... cute scene, nowhere near as OTT as shown in the SBS. The neighbors were all sweet, non-intrusive, definitely not as rude as the Raizada neighbors, and genuinely happy for Khushi. Harvard and Haridwar =))

The mention of 'saat janam' and the Rabba ve ... the pain and longing in her eyes, which for once she couldn't cover with her usual smiles, the way he couldn't quite meet her eyes ...

Anjali-Bubbly-Payash ... so it's their one month anniversary. And Bubbly is disappointed that the gift is not for her. Anjali is busy with her pregnancy book - only one month has passed, so no baby bump yet.
SN - does this mean it will take another ten months for five months in IPK-land and the MU to clear? God help us ... will anyone still be watching this show?

The AC arrives, along with other toiletries and essentials. Liked this scene - the bigda Raizada for the first time, realizes he made a boo boo, and didn't exactly do things gracefully, Garima and Buaji's hurt and embarrassment, Khushi's hurt upset ... the way the G ladies then tried to make him feel less guilty, the way Arnav did actually feel guilty ... the way Khushi remembers her own suhaag raat when Garima says he and the Raizadas would also have made some adjustments for her ... all the feelings were portrayed really well ...

Sleeping arrangements are sorted out ... someone has been listening to Shweths :))
Khushi back to her usual efficiency, dealing with mosquitoes - no coil because of Arnav's allergy.
The AC comes on ... Arnav agrees to share the bed ... and the light goes off. Correction - the lights go off - of the entire neighbourhood.

So will the bigda Raizada stay overnight at all? Or will they go back home to RM?

*edited*
A better episode - some introspection on the part of Khushi starts - some insight into her feelings and how she covers them always with a smile.

Arnav sweating it out in his sasural - has his RTR started? He pushed Khushi out into the cold, now he feels the heat.
A slight ironical smile at the sight of Khushi's Salman Khan posters ... especially the one with Khushi in a doli :))

Buaji and Garima peep in, sensibly not taking their madcap Khushi's word for it that he will welcome meeting the neighbors, and pretty cautious about asking him ... liked the way Arnav has no hesitation in calling Buaji 'Buaji' ... probably recognizes another strong character and accords her with the respect she deserves.

Buaji saying 'hum nahin hain' ... cute! :)) Nervous of upsetting the senior damaad (even though he's technically the younger one, but he's older, hes Payal's jeth and the head of the family), also she has heard about his temper.

Arnav welcomes the visitors, much to the G ladies' surprise ... till he discovers who they are - all the neighborhood women. And a reverse 'munh dikhayi' ... I always love the turning of tables on the men =)) He had a much easier time than Khushi or Payal did ... the G neighbours are much better behaved and more well meaning than the R neighbours ... and they genuinely wish for the couple's happiness.
Also loved the reverse interrogation on Arnav's education and means - he might be good looking, but  is he able to support their beloved Khushi? And Arnav's incredulous look on the questioning - 'are you kidding me? I'm an MBA, dammit!'
Khushi taking her role as interpreter very seriously - 'what the' translated into such a long sentence, same with 'whatever' ...
Liked the humour in the scene, balanced and not OTT, the play on words was cute - Harvard and Haridwar, chain of shops and shop of chains ... :) Pata hai ... nahin, Lata hain ... Arnav was more ASR here, annoyed at having to meet the neighbours he had absolutely no interest in ... buster, all girls go through this, it's time some men did too :) The feminist in me speaking :)
And the slight one-upmanship between Buaji and Taiji ... 'my damad has studied bijiness, he has so many factories and people working for him' ... 'My Lallan also has people working for him' ... =))

And then the poignant moment ... as Taiji gets up to bless Arnav, pulls cheeks, kisses forehead ... Arnav mentally goes 'what the' again, Taiji tells Arnav to keep Khushi happy, and Khushi translates his 'whatever' as a 'yes, he'll always keep me happy ...all through this lifetime ...' expressing her unspoken dreams and longing for Arnav to say those words ... and Taiji gives them a blessing for saat janam ... and Khushi's mask slips ... seven janam? This marriage won't even last seven months ...

And they both instantly look at each other, then look away, he with a mix of guilt and probably the beginning of realization as to what marriage means in her society, and what he's done to her ... Khushi with hurt, longing, looking away, and then back to him, as though looking for something that could give her some hope, but there isn't ... tries to say something, probably searching for something flippant as always to cover her feelings, but this time she can't think of anything ... so she just leaves ... they walk in opposite directions, turn back for a last look as always ... but for the first time, they turn at the same time, and see each other ... she still hoping, still searching, but she knows she won't find what she's looking for, as his eyes hold a trace of guilt, but nothing more. :'(

Anjali discussing the growth of the baby with a nine year old? Seriously?! Bubbly gets her gift for Akash, and gets her first reality check about Akash's changed priorities ... it's their one month anniversary, and his gift is for Payal, not for her. (SN - one month or three? Apparently in the UK/US feed, Akash said it was their three month anniversary).

Back to GH - Arnav's toiletries and AC arrive ... the neighbours are all excited about the generosity of Madhumati's damaad ... Buaji and Garima are embarrassed and hurt ... Khushi is upset at the perceived insult to her family ...
Barun's dialogue delivery needs work!!! The way he told the delivery guys, I've been waiting for so long ... ufff!!! Needed to be FAR more forceful and authoritative ...even the way he first told Khushi that he was getting the AC installed, it will be useful even after he leaves ... He shouldn't have been feeling guilty already ... this part should have been all forceful and unthinking, uncaring ASR ... and later as he sees Buaji's and Garima's expressions, the "uh oh, I made a boo boo here" should have started. Don't blame Barun - direction was poor here.

Garima, Buaji and Khushi were excellent ... I was holding my breath in apprehension that Khushi would let loose and fire from all cylinders ... thank god she didn't, she held her tongue ... but reality starts to bite ... she made this impulsive decision to bring Arnav to her maayka to teach him a lesson, show him how the other half lives, show him that being poor doesn't necessarily mean low class ... she didn't stop to think she would be exposing her own family to hurt and embarrassment. And of course, being Khushi, the anger comes out only for Arnav ... not that I blame her - after so many years of marriage, I still feel the same if ever I feel any perceived slight from my inlaws or husband to my maayka!

The next part in the room was excellent, as Arnav starts to get the AC installed, the workers make an unthinking remark about whether the walls will hold up ... now Barun was spot on, as Arnav sees belatedly the hurt and embarrassment of his in-laws and starts to fire at the workers in his usual ASR way, Buaji and Garima interrupt and assure the workers that they can continue their work as the walls are strong enough, Buaji says the cooler was coming anyway, trying to tell Arnav that they had done their best for his comfort, Garima interrupts to tell her that their best was not good enough for him, as he was used to much better ... Khushi feels worse and worse ... and so does Arnav. Anger breeds anger, contempt breeds contempt ... but this gentle understanding and instant forgiving is alien to him. He has insulted his in-laws and hurt their feelings ... without meaning to, unthinkingly, that's true ... but he has ...

Buaji and Garima were fantastic here ... hurt, and covering it with a smile of understanding, assuring Arnav he could do what he liked to make himself comfortable, because his comfort was the most important thing ...

The delivery man hands over Arnav's towels and toiletries, Buaji and Garima feel worse ... and Arnav feels so guilty that he actually feels the need to explain ... Buaji tells him with a smile that his comfort and happiness is the most important thing, Garima agrees ... Arnav must be feeling lower than an insect right about now. Face to face with hurt feelings, covered with a smile and understanding forgiveness ... will he ever see the parallels in Khushi's behaviour?

And Khushi is angry and upset ... she can hide her own hurt, her pain when he insults her, but her family is another matter. Again - like all girls, insults to maayka are intolerable. Even though this is a situation of her own making ...
Garima sees her upset and tries to comfort her ... don't worry, Khushi, everyone has to adjust ... even in your new house, he would have adjusted for you, isn't it?
And Khushi remembers how he threw her out into the poolside, and kept his room and its comforts to himself ... he adjusted? Her upset grows, but she hides it again ... doesn't say anything. Arnav sees her hurt, but he keeps quiet as well ... slow realization here ... his unthinking actions can hurt. Something she told him ages back ...

Hope this GH stay teaches Arnav a lesson in understanding Khushi better, and Khushi starts to realise that her own anger has consequences which can reach back to bite her, and by extension, so can Arnav's ... they will both have learned valuable lessons.

At night Khushi comes in to realize that Arnav has taken over her room ... the same way that she took over his ... so he's doing tit for tat ... she wanted to show him the reality of her world ... he's making her world his own. In a way, he's showing her the reality too - the reality of how he operates ... the reality of his world ... hope this doesn't degenerate into Khushi teaching him another lesson, because both are learning things about each other here.

Later - Arnav says he won't sleep on the same bed ... Khushi, not being Sati Savitri bhartiya nari, has no intention of taking the floor, or (to give her credit) of letting him take it ... paints a not so rosy picture of hard beds and mice nibbling his hair ... horrified, he says he'll sleep in his car ... Khushi amiably agrees, but points out what kind of impression he will create ... he has already proved he is the 'damaad' of the house ... the last said with a bite in her voice.
Second time Khushi has pointed out the consequences of his actions, and let him take the decision ... she is learning how to handle him for sure. Now if only she would rein in her own temper and curb her own antics. Or maybe it will be Arnav's turn to teach her that.

Arnav troubled by mosquitoes ... Khushi gets out the electric racquet, because he's allergic to coils, and gets busy ... Arnav is horrified ... she tries to slap at a mosquito on his nose, he stops her ... the AC will help with the heat and the mosquitoes ... and he will take half the bed ...

AC on ... lights off ... of the entire neighbourhood.

Have a feeling they will return to RM soon ... unless the electrician actually manages to fix the AC problem.

  1. I liked the epi today...Yeah my Kabhi Mad Kabhi Khushi with the show continues:)

    Everything was toned down.

Once again I liked Arnav what Arnav today, he could have been more tactful and informed the Guptas but then that would not be Arnav right, That would be Akash :)

In real life, this is what would have happened:

Explaining with Mami's example, She would have called the Guptas taunted about the fact that her Akash bitwa spends every waking minute under the AC...the least they can do is provide an AC in the bedroom where he is staying.

The Guptas if they could have scampered around for the AC and other items and struggled to pay for it.

What did Arnav do (like I said he could have discussed and explained earlier but he did do so later, Tact thou name is NOT ASR:))

He realized a need for something, got it home and he is going to let it stay so the other members can make use of it and He is going to pay the bill for it.

The toiletries ignore the fact that Itna samaan toh I didn't even see in his own room, made sense, the Guptas even made him feel guilty about that, lol.

I understood that the Guptas felt a bit awkward but decided to keep mum and Arnav too was a little embarrassed cos it maybe clicked for him that he could have handled it in a better way.

The point his intention was NOT to rub it in to the Guptas.

That is the point Khushi misunderstood again. He respects the Guptas and is trying his best to adjust. All the muhdikhayi scene was okay, imagine if any of his own family member had tried that, he would have EXPLODED.

Here he kept his cool and he acutally stood up when they left (ofcourse it was an excuse for him to go back to his room or out of respect, I would like to think bit of both).

And he is explaining this to the elders and not to Khushi.

I liked the RV today...both realizing that their marriage is short term and the tinge of sadness.

And it is one month anniversary...shouldn't it have been for Arhi too. If Payal and Akash remembered their own anniversary, shouldn't they have atleast wished ARHI too?

Any how so we now have officially 5 more months left? That gets sorted.

And aiyo, the sleeping arrangements sorted out and the batti gul? (no pun intended)...Gul Khan*wink*

Yaar will we get both of them sleeping on the same bed thing or will it be OTT tomorrow that he ordered the AC?

And Harvard-Haridwar, Chain of shops & chain shop wordplay was too good.

I am hoping atleast starting next week, we see Khushi see him trying to settle and mingle. And to his credit, he is. I loved the way he asked, Buaji is that you, awwwwwwwwww

No shyamwa today, has he gone to the keymaker?

This khushi is a relief, there is still loads of work ahead in respect to her character so we get back our Khushi.

the toiletries.. wow these guys supply A/Cs and shampoos together? wow. and the delivery people knew what was in the bag :)... why dint they switch the AC on and check that it works.. before they left?

loved the moodikhayi.. choo chweet pretty boy.. buy him some perfume ROTFL i think he was too dumbstruck to explode :D I loved the wordplay too.. at last some comedy that the serious(smirk) viewers of the show can appreciate!

see how ready he is to share the bed? he liked sharing the couch last time(wink)

without the AC now, i guess he will go and sleep in his car.. will he?

    2. Hey Jaya,

Its that Aman boy who can make all this possible..delivering ACs and toiletries in one go...didn't u hear ASR tell Aman...that they have arrived?hehehe.
I am telling u, whatever A lets go, he can't let go Aman Bittuboy...ASR knows a gud thing when he sees one..

  2. Me....loved the episode...actually i loved the sense of humour (I am glad to note that the CVs do have one....it had gone away for a while...muh dikhayi and wordplay scenes proved the their funny bone...(bubbly demand of y'day" mujhe mera soap wapas chahiye.granted in gud measure by the CVs today)

I was laughing and crying thru the epi...the AC scenes made me misty eyed....the RV made me cry....it was exactly as Shweths described it
    Several high points today....

  3. I liked today's episode too.. honestly, it was a relief to see some monologues and thoughts .. and they told us the time.. said today is one month.. well, clarity is always good, CVs.

    loved the bedroom dialogues..

the toiletries..the gupta's sadness.. and then khushi's anger was brilliantly emoted.

poor guy.. whatever you do, you end up offending someone.. before, you dint care if you offended anyone.. now, when you care, what can you do?

tie him in a seven-lives wedding with our star problem maker, and that is a pair made personally by dear devi maiyya!

p.s. I would have thought the electricity would trip as soon as the AC is switched on..

  4. Thank god Shwetha i don't need to go to sets to kick the CV's at least I hope not this weekend..
Will watch the episode now. Was just caught up with work!!
And yes ASR/Arnav is always the action-reaction, or more like if you have a problem find a solution and then deal with other factors, so yes he wouldn't have used any other way. Although his intension weren't to rub on G's. Yes he did feel guilty and am thank full for that, but again K was right in her own way of thinking it was his way of showing their class.

  5. I found today's episode depressing because they let us know that the torture we suffered for two months because of this silly MU track is no way nearing a close, going by the spoiler that the MU is getting over only at the end of six months and as per the episode only one month is over. I mentally switched off after hearing it. Don't have much hope for this GH stint by Arshi.

    1. whaat Opti yaar you're losing faith in your name! The MU track will run its course... acc to spoilers, the 6 months will be less than 6 months in Arhi land..

once they have ODB fully in love with ODG(done), ODB getting some insights into why she cannot have ever done such a thing (doing), ODG undergoing some revelations (will get there.. ) then it is time to clear the MU and deal with whatever other googlies the CVs throw at us. so I think it is good that this GH stint will bring some revelations to both the kiddos.

yes, the whole drama for the last two months was far less intense than the "height of drama wedding track" that happened before, but normal funny episodes were there before the emergency wedding happened.

if anything, i think the joke episodes pave the way to something more serious, that has been the track record.. so I think more little MUs will crop up before the great cheater MU clears. but it will happen in the next 2 months.. more like around the one year anniversary, i'm guessing..

      Delete
  6. Opti,

This one month clarification was for us to understand that MU will not clear until IPL is over....Closer to IPL ending dates, one might see a progression in the story...Frankly, with TRP being down for so many shows, the PH may not be very keen to introduce any ace now
Can't say tho how the GH stint will play out, maybe give Arnav some insight into the GH folks which he will connect better when the MU will clear...
Don't forget Shyam with the key will provide us with the necessary distraction inthe meantime...(for all we know it may end up as a damp squib)

    ReplyDelete
  7. Opti, what i missed adding is after IPL, we will see a flash forwarding of time...U can ask why that fast forwarding couldn't have been done now? Gud question but as usual gud qs rarely have gud ans...right??
One likely explanation could be they conveyed the time lapsing thru the anniv ( usually one celebrates the one-month anniv, usual for newly wed couples, couldn't have chosen the bi-monthly one....)
They could have also chosen a totally diff way to express the lapsing of time....

  8. See, this is why I am depressed. I was hoping that the MU will end in the ME. There is enough stuff to show even after the MU clears. The CVs are too lazy to think of it. I can't stand this torture for another month because this entire MU is based on such flimsy grounds that it is undermining Arnav's intelligence and Khushi's sensitivity which is bound to get worse. I know of people who have stopped watching the show soon after the holi episode since the story seems to have come to a standstill or goes around in circles. By the time they restart the story and get out of the mess they have created, they will not have many viewers left. So what good does it do to keep preserving their aces when there is no one to play with?

Sorry I cant look at this positively. I'll wait till the ME and if the MU is not clearing up, I guess I'll just have to bid good bye.

    1. Opti, ...I have long since given up on Arnav and Khushi's intelligence...I still don't know why it has never struck A on K keeps asking him the reason when all she has to do is ask shyam for it..and she would get an inkling...Khushi for all this....needs to only probe the Di connection(i admit her path is more arduous)

Its CVs way of insulting our intelligence...
On giving up on IPK, i find it diffi becos i guess i have invested too much emotion...sounds stupid but true...

      Dia,
The UK feed mentioned one month anniv, i hope i heard it right..sometimes with comments in the background(mine), its diffi to tell...sounds stupid to suddenly celebrate a third month anniv...kya logic hain ...

    2. Rekha, it is not difficult to digest that ASR The Great has blinkers on when it comes to matters of his heart.. he has never dealt with this kind of emotion before.. I am guessing that the great betrayal of his uncle led him to a path of revenge.. and he was following that track with KKG also.. slowly his perspective is changing, that is how the story is going. (whatever OTT antics may happen)

KKG, on the other hand, has always stood up to fight for what she thought was right.. she made decisions trying to make things better, but not always correct ones.. which could be because she never had a sounding board..(and half her plans were harebrained.. even in the beginning)

now her life has been put in a cage, she willingly decided to do that.. whatever her feelings for the man, whatever reactions everyone gives her.. because she decided that her sister's life should not be affected by her personal grief/love/torture. she does not understand exactly why the great ASR decided to marry her, but knows enough now to see that he has some feelings for her, and a whole lot of hate.. I will not say they are being dumb, i think they are trying to make the best of the current situation.. and for this,, i think the one month anniversary was more apt..

because in real life too, people take a lot longer than one month to go up and ask a reason to the guy that hates you.. and in this vein, i think the gupta's forgiveness was too abrupt...

  9. Just a quick one before I edit - apparently the US/UK telecast said three months were over, not one. I get the UAE telecast and here Akash said one month - have the cv's had a change of heart after the reaction to it just being one month? Or has wiser sense (finally prevailed?)

Going to edit main post now.

    1. Dia - Beautiful post. I liked the episode a lot, have to admit that I had really low expectations after yesterday's disaster.

Enjoyed reading everyone else's posts. Don't have a lot of time right now , but just here to confirm that the US telecast clearly had Akash saying it was 3 months. Just wondering how they do this, can they re-shoot in just a matter of few hours?
Also this tells me that the CVs don't have a master game plan on how things will play out over the next few months. Pretty bad planning I would say.

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts.

  10. Loved the episode- yes shewtha several high points. Love how they portray the G's emotions. My heart did go out to G’s and loved Garima today the way she handled things. By making the situation less guilty and easy for all three, Bitwa, K and Buaji.
Loved the bati gul, will ASR sleep in his car? or K gives him the feeling of natural AC, with kathiya on the veranda LOL!! Or we can have a star gazing till the lights are back??? And with this bati gul, will Bitwa’s dimaag ki bati will light up? Hope we get at least our star gazing shiddat!!!

And what is the confusion of the number of months? Opti the good news is that in other telecast they have it as three months. So may be the PH caught its goofed and rectified it for other telecasts. Logically it would be 3 months. May be by ME Bitwa will come to know about part truth even if it’s just 3 months. May be another month till IPL is over for the whole truth to come out and K to know the reason for the marriage, so by the end of 6 months she walks out with a confession.

  11. No Dia retelecast at 11:30 had mentioned 3 months so it cannot be due to audience reaction ...... And that definetly Akash's voice ..... But for people who watch it only at eight should be given follow up as to acknowledge the mistake

anyways now that they have a new sponser ....... The other show all set ...... Will they wrap up all the mini tracks that they created or will they forget it just like khushi wants to forget Shyaam?

Initially when the marriage took place ME was all about Khushi to know the reason behind the marriage not the whole but the fact that its related to Shyaam ....... Will they attempt it this ME or the one they will plan for 1st week of June their 1 year celebration, end of 6 month marriage and probably an ME with Anjali's baby shower, giving Khushi whole truth ...... Start her hate track ??

Barun becharar ..... He really is a sunday guy isn't he ..... All stressed out not doing good to him ....... Am just praying for Sanayas health ....... Good they have started focusing on other charcters as well .....provides SaRun with much needed rest time.

If Gul is done with SG set up can they focus on wraping up mini tracks and join the important moment in flashbacks like yesterdays SR, more of FB's from K s side , and then move with their original (if they had any) plan of what Khushi would do once she finds out. It has to be Khushi who solves the mess and in all tigress or maa durga form ...... No tycoon attitude taking care of the KJ is going to keep audience hooked to the show ...... I never for once expected anything to be cleared before 1 years mark ..... IPL sealed it ......if the last one month was shown in the same manner as this week ..... Things could have been much better

As for the AC and batti gul ..... Why do I feel like its Khushis doing so that Bitwa will be forced not to use it .... How no idea but that seems more logical than pura moholla's batti gul because of an AC

as it is confirmed to be 3 months so its basically 4 n half months of pregnancy .... Given that Anjali is a tall woman ..... They should start showing a slightly developed belly within a week or two ...... Few scenes where Anjali chatter about how they babe is going to have the best daddy in the world and Khushi indrectly informs her .... Thats not gonna happen and change the topic immediately before Anji notices anything ..... If with Arnav he simply hugs her to not let her see the pain in his eyes as he has not been able to fullfill his promise to keep her world perfect no matter how hard he tried ....... This realization may also lead him to Khushi "aap jo likhte hain wo DM aap ke haath pakar ke likwate hain" .....after all its his fault to give his sister everything she wants ....she wanted to get married to shyaam he agreed to it without any background check.

Don't know if made any sense .....

So bitwa prefers left and has no problem giving the right to biwi in bed where there is not much of left n right ..... Mighty change for the man who was disgusted by the sight of her or her being in the same room ..... Only if the transition of this change had been more clear n crisp

batti gul koi baath nahi ..... Bohot si ratein abhi baki hain .....

    1. must add .... I watched one whole weeks episode in a go from last friday ...... Editing has improved alot, no major blooper, even wednesdays episode wasn't bad ....... Its just that they have been so inconsistent that even a slip for few monents is causing frustration in audience ...... So whatever mess production is in .... When they decide to pull the strings together, they will have a tough job ahead

lots of change in the blog too ....well as Dia is back with her edit later and Shwetha with her thoughts on sleeping arrangement ...... Guess all izz going to be well soon in ArHi land :D

  12. Dia,

What can I say, I caught snippets of Thurs epi - and the RV where they walk towards and away too look back at each other at the same time is stuck in my head. first time they look back at the same time while walkign away right? (not sur eof hospital and bandagement scene)

My head is blank except for

"Do Pal ruka khwaabon ka kaarwaan
Aur phir chal diye tum kahaan hum kahaan"

I want to soon see something which makes me think of
"Tere Liye Hum hain jiye, Hothon ko siye
Dil main magar jalte rahein chaahat ke diya tere liye"

Its been ages since I could think of a song in the IPK epi context and that too a SRK one - so is hegde back from trying to salvage SNS ;)

I am actually glad to see that it is 3 months and not 1 month. Given the way the marriage happened and all the ensuing tumult, 1 month would have been too soon for emotions to settle down from the families. Also the thought of ArHi getting used to each other intheir lives and that longing in the RV seems more heart tugging if they are midway to thir deadline. Plus an elongated maayka visit after 3 months seems more plausible.

It is good to see Khushi getting all worked up while Arnav seems to be reigning in his temper in general. At RM it was for Di's sake but here for whose sake is he doing it? Will Khushi wonder becasue if he is indeed heartless, he need not bother about how her family feels and what they think. Ok khushi already thinks he is being impolite but still will she wonder ateeny weeny bit?

Will there be a scenario where Khushi speaks of breaking the contract and asking Arnav to go to hell witnessed by G family or at least Buaji (resignation scene).

  13. Hey Girls...

Caught up with this weeks episodes and R&R comments right in time for the Friday end of week episode...:-D...had gone out of town rather suddenly just got back...

The first thing I have to comment on is Barun...finally got some much needed dose of R&R?? (Rest and Recooperation...not Ramblings and Reminiscences unfortunately;-)Although I don't know when because last four episodes had non stop Arhi!

I enjoyed the last few episodes...maybe because I saw them in a bulk watch or perhaps after seriously lowered expectations(based on all of your comments:-)) they didn't disappoint.

I feel like last few days Arnav's reactions and dialogue have been really good and in sync with the character and story...but it still feels like khushi's character isn't quite right...for me some of the Khushi charm is wearing off...I usually find her endearing and funny in 'shaking your head at her accidental comedy' kind of way, but I find myself enjoying Arnav scenes and all the other cast members' scenes but not hers too much...

I watched the 11:30 p.m. telecast and in that Akash says months...

SN:I do have to add that I found his Harvard MBA thing ridiculous...average age of MBA students is about 28 at Harvard-with the youngest being 24..so you pass out earliest at 26 and considering naniji said he's 26 when she called that family for rishta how exactly did he set up a huge fashion business in a year??-implausible!!!

    Scenes I liked...

    1. Arnav, The AC and the Two Aunties...

cute scene...appropriately conveyed discomfort, tinge of guilt and embarrassment.

2.All of Arnav's attempts to get out of going...You're so sad about leaving RM?-lets not!...Such pretty Rangoli?-Lets not spoil it -about turn?

    3. Garima and Buaji's attempts at Upgrading their home too damaadji's 6 foot status standards...(best part was Garima rearranging chairs and asking how it looks-such a mum thing to do:-))

    4. The Reverse Munh Dikhayi...yep loved the role reversal.

    1. Gargi...I was laughing at that Harvard dialogue but frankly it was for the Hardwar wordplay...it has no other use besides that and to my mind, the guys who wrote the dialogue may have no idea at all...for them its another MBA 2 year course just that it is "phoren"
we have heard business being maligned so often...that i have now come to accept that whenever film/telly folk talk of business...better to conjure images of our bachpan ka "ghar gar" "office office" khel....thats really the limit of their research on such matters

    2. I know ...your absolutely right Rekha...but seriously the coveted MBA seat at HBS just randomly thrown around in GH made want to borrow Shweths danda and whack the writer...Lol...

but yeah I liked Taiji's reaction:-)

  14. waiting to catch the 11.30 am telecast to confirm the 3 month phrase....

Now what happens to the India folks...how will they issue a clarification? in a new scene or what.....like Anjali telling Akash "tumhe to ginthi bhi nahin athi" or"tum kis waqt mein khoye ho?Teen mahine nikal gaye...tum bhi na!!

  16. Anybody saw the SBS??? Aaru, you did? :)))

Arnav Khushi share bed! I actually was sure it wouldn't happen ... I just watched ... hadn't read the update, so this was a total surprise! And seems like it will be a dhak dhak moment for Arnav for sure!

Also from the SBS, seems like Khushi is definitely toning down ... halleluiah!!!

      Khushi in pink night suit
      Arnav nihaarofying her
      same bed
wakeup having trespassed royally on each other's sides
      Khushi nihaarofying Arnav (hopeful!)
      Arnav without waistcoat look
Khushi getting more aware of Arnav

    4. Sandy, you're SO right!

And gargi, hello! missed you! and the scene was, he was gonna go out to jog, but then gusti-place guys invited him to exercise with them, khushi said he wont be able to do it, so he just had to do it na!

    5. Sandy....tujhe hi yaad kar rahi thi after that Jodha-Akbar scene...so what if it is in the neighbourhood akhara? Rustic setting works well...hain na?...liked that he rises to her bait...bitwa bhi na...

  17. Also liked Sanaya's comment, that she's trying to irritate Arnav but it's rebounding on her ... so Khushi's plans to irritate Arnav and show him down are going to fail ... am happy!!! And she says he has become perfect husband so Khushi has to become perfect wife.

Sanaya was looking tired ... not as bubbly as she usually is. They must be exhausted - they have the bulk of screen time these days.

    1. so after the last minute edit to change it to 3 months, the story is progressing.. seems like everyone is more relaxed about the marriage, like sandy said.

the actors seem to be shooting a lot of scenes that are not telecast.. going by the SBS and all.. so that might be part of the overwork.. now that the storyline has been decided for the MU clearence, i hope the extra shots will decrease and so the actors workload..

@Rekha warning would have lost the suprise element *wink*
@Dia when I saw Sanaya in pink suit I was sure it would be one of our shiddat getting granted. And yes both SI/BS look tired. And BS hasn't recovered yet!!
Hope the Next week get the chai ki pyali with star gazing.
    Fingers crossed *
