And Bitwa is still in full on flirty mood ... had a good night's sleep in AC comfort, garam garam ginger tea early morning, and icing on the cake, Biwi is sulking with his AC ... so he's ready to push Biwi's buttons again and see her blushing pink ... your nose is red ...

'Ek kha loonga' - Starts with family enjoying the golguppas and Arnav actually sitting with them all peacefully, sipping his tea ... a change from RM, where he sits aloof from everyone and leaves asap, and no one bothers, because that's the way he is ... they all know it. Here they don't know it, and because they don't, their warmth and affection envelops him all the time and doesn't allow him to stay aloof. And he doesn't seem to mind at all.
We had a discussion here ages back that in the Gupta house, children are treated as children, and adults as adults - loving, protecting, coaxing, scolding adults ... even though Khushi was the bread winner for so long, she was still very much the child in the house. In RM, Arnav didn't have that luxury - he was the head of the house, even with Nani around, he was the ultimate decision maker, and all his decisions were accepted quietly, including the ones about eating alone, about not eating teekha, about spending time alone in his room, away from the family ... because that was the way he was - a loner.
Here, those decisions are not accepted, are not even taken - he's invited to eat with the family, eat first as an honored guest initially, and then as he relaxes into the family, eat with them, sit with them even if he doesn't eat everything ... treated like a child, in other words. No heavy burden of decision making here, of looking after Di all the time, of watching out for KJ and deceiving biwi, of keeping the malice of Mami at bay ... no responsibilities at all, other than his usual office ones. On the contrary, he is invited to relax, to think about nothing at all, and just enjoy himself, while being cossetted and fussed over like the damaad he is ... damaad also means he's the son in the house, the child ... with two mother figures to do all the fussing. And Bitwa seems to be lapping it up and relaxing visibly ... to the point of forgetting all about snakes, misunderstandings, contract marriages and all such nasty things ...
So he brought the golguppas as an apology, not just to BG, but also to his hot-headed biwi ... she almost refused his apology first, then her natural sunny nature - and gluttony ;) overcame her, and she gave in and forgave him ... as always. And he relaxed again, and was able to concentrate on more important things, like how sweet and childlike and innocent his wife looked stuffing her mouth with the golguppas ... and how she fed each and every member of her family herself ...
So when BG, true to their nature, didn't accept his not eating the golguppas he himself had brought, and prodded him to eat them, he refused initially, they still didn't accept, so he had to make silly excuses - my mouth doesn't open wide enough (cut to Khushi opening her mouth wide to stuff yet another gg ;) ) ... it's too spicy for me ...
And buaji smartly says ... let Khushi feed you, then you won't say no ...
BG did ask Khushi what happened between ArHi after that taut encounter earlier, but Khushi brushed it aside and took Shashi out for a walk. So BG need some reassurance that things are okay between ArHi again. Arnav bringing the golguppas was some reassurance, he apologised to them, but he was more angry with Khushi, what happened there? So Buaji's insistence on Khushi feeding Arnav was her way of checking the lie of the land between them ...
Arnav said sorry to BG, but he can't bring himself to say it to Khushi. Though he's finding it easier and easier to apologise these days, the exception is Khushi ... he still can't find the words. It's easier to say it without words, with deeds ... words would mean a commitment, a baring of emotions, emotions which run too deep for comfort.
He did say 'I love you' once to La when she insisted ... because it didn't mean anything. He can't bring himself to say it yet to Khushi.
But watching Khushi eat the simple snack with such pleasure, feed her family happily, raises those emotions in him again ... Buaji tells Khushi to feed Arnav, and Khushi is still awkward after that charged encounter earlier, and maybe BG's scolding to let Arnav be, stop pestering him did have a temporary effect ... so she doesn't want to take a chance either, of pestering and being hurt again. So she starts to say 'no, leave him alone, if he doesn't want ...'
But he does want. Wants a share in that love she distributes so freely ...
'Ek kha loonga ...' unspoken the words ... if you give it to me ...
If you give me that love you give to all the others, if you give me your forgiveness the way you always do when I get angry with you without good reason ...
And she does ... hesitatingly, because she's not sure, she's never sure what he wants from her, that's why she needs the words. His actions are too confusing ... she still needs a road map of words.
Yet she is learning ... very slowly, but she is ... seeing that he is reaching out to her, the only way he knows can, trying to say sorry without saying the words ... and she starts to understand ... he needs reassurance from her as much as she needs it from him.
Mami-Bubbly ... After some essential self-praise, Mami realizes that her bahuriya is missing from Bubbly's pictures. Rather than being happy, Mami is disturbed .. 'phamily tree pe chadhi, toh giri kab?' ... and puts on her detective hat. So it appears that just when she has accepted her bahuriya, the next opponent of the Payash marriage is in place. Good, good ... Payash have had it all too easy till date. And we need fillers.
ArHi - starts with such a typical hubby-wife convo - why are you making faces? I ate too much ... who told you to eat so many golguppas? ... while she carries on with her work ... this could have been a convo in my bedroom =))
And finally Bitiya is learning something about her hubby ... that his most erratic actions do mean something that he's not comfortable saying in words ... so 'I forgive you'
Much to his indignation ... he's not ready to accept that he did anything as an apology to her ... she asked for it, she provoked him ... although he does accept shame-facedly that he said sorry to BG ... and changes the subject immediately by talking about his clothes ...
Again tells her not to make too much out of his words, and stop dreaming ... poor Khushi, even when she tries to ascribe good motives to him, he shoots them down himself ... and shoots himself in the foot every time with them. Khushi, next time, stay quiet about his motives even when you understand them inside out ... you know the guy's ego by now!
Nandini mausi visits ... Arnav shows his comfort level in the GH by being very much around when guests arrive, calmly watering plants as though he's in his own house ... accepted and accepting his surroundings ...
Nandini starts talking about the woes of a middle class wedding, the budget constraints, the dreams and aspirations every parent has for their daughter's wedding, the boy's people are rich, will they measure up ... some slight flickering on ArHi's faces - will this escalate over the next few episodes? Hope so!
Arnav back in room, looks for middle class management of mosquitoes - the racquet ... he sure is well settled here!
Nandini talks about booking guesthouse, Khushi immediately offers their home, Buaji agrees, G wants to check with damaadji ... Khushi sees Nandini's disappointment ... Arnav pokes head out to ask about racquet ... says he'll switch on AC instead, Buaji says it will be a problem for him, he says he'll be fine ... Khushi realizes the cross-connection and takes immediate advantage of it ... Bitwa, be very careful not to piss off your firecracker biwi, you should know she loses no time to get back at you!
So Nandini is reassured she can bring her guests here ;)
Arnav spares a moment to wonder why Buaji thought putting on the AC would be a problem for him, then shrugs it off ... Arnav bitwa, that's your problem, you don't think enough!

Dialogue of the day : Stop looking at hidden meanings/symbols at everything I do, Guess that was for us from the CVs. Sooooooooo good to see the cheeky cvs back...If only they continue and stay and not make an appearance everytime TRP hits low, sigh.

Deleteand yes, the blanket comment was in Barun's funny voice.. not at all ASR. after seeing the SBS today, i was thinking "they are having so much fun" and glad the scenes have a touch of that too.
I have said it from the time the director changed... the dialogues have taken a lot more leeway. I think they have accepted that barun will ad lib certain scenes, especially the funny ones. example, the shaitan scene .
Yes, me too saw a bit of Barun in today's scenes...i guess some of it can't be avoided....
DeleteAlso, not to blame the CVs, ASR has always been shown to be serious so the humour will us remind of Barun more than Arnav becos Arnav has really not been shown confused, humourous in the past. at the most he has been shown flirtatious, with that attitude, smirk etc...
At the end of it...if they can bring it all together without compromising on the narrative, i will be happy....i have always maintained it is going to be diffi to show ASR in love without some changes in his characteristics....there will be that element of Arnav in him then...how much of it will be Arnav and how of it will be Barun is a tight rope walk these guys have to tread well (Director, writer, actor included)
I felt that one kambal dialogue was totally Barun, including the voice ... otherwise as Rekha says, it's gonna be difficult to show ASR in love, some elements of Arnav will come in, and as they are totally unseen before now, they will all seem unfamiliar, and more Barun-ish than ASR-ish. As we don't really know what Arnav was like yet.

DeleteThe thing is while we like Arnav to be self assured lover, the circumstances will not allow him to be completely so..there will be a period when he is hurting, seeking K's forgiveness when he will be a diff Arnav..we need to brace ourselves for that period too....the comparisons will be made but we need to also keep this aspect in mind
arre rekha, the ASR in the beginning.. who only stared.. had a blonde like La as his girlfriend.. he did not need ove.. to tell the truth, I dont see that ASR anywhere here.. but thats okay.. i like romcoms too :)

After MU, Arnav in love, is a difficult graph...as it will be overshadowed by the MU...My own expectation was not a mushy Arnav at any stage rather a Arnav torn by his intense desire for a "forbidden" love; kinda hating himself for it but as they "dil ke haathon majboor" that hasn't happened so far...but i feel it will still happen...after this next explosion...
And to add, I am not comfortable with a flirty Arnav at this stage...unless he has shown some mental acceptance /admittance, whatever u call it that the past does not matter...i want to just live in these moments..Since i don't see that happening, i would much rather have him be troubled by his pull for her

liked how he is responded to love and care of BG's on monday and tuedays episode ..... Today it was blaaahh ...... The early morning segment dint work at all .... Nothing of it ...... If director is not concentrating Barun should take care at least of his expressions as he can do nothing about the scenes ..... Keep it limited to Arnav not get comfortable himself ....... There was something lacking even when he said I dint do all these to say sorry to you ...... Did they shoot the epi in a real hurry???
Back to mon and tue ...... Somebody after ArHi marriage was hell bound on Mami to be on khushis side because she sees things the way they are and actually shows care in her own weird way ..... all in all Raizadas are selfish creatures .... No wonder they have such weird relatives and bitwa is getting more and more at ease at GH .....i would assume the early morning scene today did not happen
and recollecting all that happened after marriage as much as bitiya gets elated at the slightest that the marriage can be real one ......bitwa is also ever elated to know about biwis goodness beats himself with regret to have douted her .....and it actually takes alot to make him think about the terrace scene ....either directly shyaam or things like death or K talking about importance of marriage .....otherwise he seems to not remember it at all .....even in holi not once he thought of terrace in his intoxicated state and his little restrain that he has fades away whenever he sees real khushi .....like when she was manaofying nani or yesterday having gol gappa
another thing ever since they started airing IPK I have yet to see a wednesday epi which was better compared to epis of that week ..... iss wed-dushmani ko kya naam doon????
from what I see, the night bedroom forgiveness scene and morning blanket scene were shot in a real hurry.. (because they use the same hall for both the gupta house rooms, repaint & reshoot takes time I guess)

"why are you backing away now? yoou were hugging me pretty tight in the night.. cue sanaya's blush... would have been a fantastic end to the flirt scene :)

DeleteYaar, I don't think mohit is the reason ... after seeing the tight SI/BS hug in SPA ... I think they're keeping the physical side tamped down till they actually both have realised their feelings, and probably it will start once Arnav starts his RTRW in earnest. Abhi he's just started flirting with her, when the MU is very much there, once he realizes he was all wrong about her, and that she actually cared for him, he should go all out!
So I am gonna imagine that night scene ;) with bitiya feeling cold and snuggling up to bitwa in her sleep, and bitwa trying to keep still, but loving it ... and them waking up all snuggled close entangled in kambal, and bitiya going all red-pink-purple with embarrassment and stammering out 'humko thand lag rahi thi':D

ReplyDeleteI did think the whole thing was shot in a hurry because of San's trip and today's was just a streching it till friday.
two things I liked are Garima reminding them of Arnav and Buaji Bitwa bonding, although it could have been little stuble. We wanted that where the both A_B teaming up. So may be it was start of that.
And yes Barun was seen more than Arnav today, maybe its because he is in fix as to how has he to behave ASR,Arnav or a combi of both?? and took a best route i will be myself. Although I liked it :))
SN : Am seeing little development in bauji?? today he was smiling more freely as if enjoying watch his khushi in different light.
Question ... apparently the new promo hasn't aired yet. So have they postponed the scene of the revelation and put in this wedding track as a filler because of Sanaya's trip and/or the delay in ME? Or will they have the revelation during the week regardless of ME? Also because GH track and Arnav's humanization is getting good response ... TRP's went up this week.

Was wondering the same as you and I feel that ME or no ME they should just move forward now. esp since it has been so publicized and by the time news of the promo leaked out I thought both SI's trip and the ME cancellation were a done deal.
The GH track will anyways continue till next week but beyond a point it will again stagnate because they will not be able to show the Arnavification of ASR beyond a point without some story movement.

SN1: The lady who played Nandini was actually gud....normally when they get these people to play some side roles, they never pay attention to their capabilities as actors for 2 min roles.....this lady made an effort to get the exp right....hope the ODG's marriage antics doesn't go OTT

Jaya, that clip ... you're right, the R ladies are affectionate in their own way too ... it's just that we've been seeing much less of that affectionate caring Anjali and Nani recently.
DeleteOne more comment - in this clip, both mami and Khushi's voices are much better modulated, as compared to the episodes these days - both have become far more shrill. Wish they would go back to the lower tones they used here.
I actually find Mami to be very affectionate towards Bubbly, she took a picture with her calling Bubbly her favorite thing, she brings her milk at night ... so am not really in agreement with the theory that Bubbly is a neglected child. Still not sure what role she will play in the ArHi equation, at the moment she is just being used as a filler in the filler Payash-Mami track.
And yes, that ASR was really dreamy ... the attitude was full on, and very, very private, never confided too much even in Anjali at any time. That's why the soppy ASR doesn't sit too well with me either - I want all his softness, his emotions reserved only for Khushi. I didn't really want him to open up to BG too much ... am glad he didn't say much, just used the chance to apologise. Though I still like the bonding, but I want it to be more Arnav-ish from his side ... it's slipping a bit.

DeleteAgree about Mami. She has her own way of caring - blunt and to teh point but caring nonetheless. In this clip she was upset cos the ladies taunted Anji. Even the morning of muh dikhaayi, she told Anji come sit and have juice, dont exert yourself. Each time Nani brings up Arnav's dad comparing him to Arnav, it is Nani's face they show because it his her face that falls and there is a look of concern on her face for him.
When the truth comes all out, I somehow feel that mami will support Khushi and rip apart Shyam whatever the others do. If she can accept Payal for her son's happiness she will also accept Khushi who only meant the best for Arnav and Anji. Also it was mami who way back on bhai dhooj spoke about Arnav making that statement giving Anji a promise that he will do anything for his Di - even give up his Khushi for his Di's. feel that mami bond will be the one to point out to all the R family that is exactly what he did though his means may have been wrong.
Not sure is Nani is uncaring to Arnav because she was the only one who said after his breakup with La that if he has taken such a decision then there must be a big reason behind it. It was also her who started that Khushi NK drama to gauge Arnav's reaction. I think she just fears him becoming like his father in his drive for control. She somehow always seemed to be the ArHi champion. She always has wanted to show Arnav the choices open to him if he chooses to not walk doen the oath he thinks is right.
If Buaji is the Khushi champ at GH, Mami is the Arnav champ at RM. They each look out for these 2 in their own ways in these houses. Now that buaji is also starting to warm up to arnav..lets see how MB goes. Plus it was MB who caused the first HMC act from Arnav for the muh dikhaayi.
If I look at it in a convoluted manner, mami telling khushi to not come to the table on the day of the choolha poojan was hurtful but in a way would it not have been worse for her to be there and neglected by all the members futher increasing her misery.
I did not think so far ahead, I just think that mami is one sharp-eyed, loyal person. Mami likes to irritate others, is used to scoldings from her own MIL, does not care much for tehzeeb.. she is open and frank about whatever is in her mind.. (except when she actually cut up a sari to get ODG to lose the sari order) like arnav, she understands the power equation far better than the heart equation..
Deletebuaji, on the other hand, knows khushi's sanak.. and i think thats it.. she is always fast to fall into misunderstandings.. very quick to trust sham.. very ready to accuse khushi's intentions.. even blackmail her, or kick her out of the family when neither her (adoptive)parents said a word..
she will champion for arnav if a bitwa-bitiya fight happens :( i think.
dia, yes, voice modulation is a thing they do when they have an episode bank.. these days it is all shoot an show, they have no time to check voices.. and everyone's voices are all over the scale.. khushi now has 3 voices.. sad, normal and jhalli.
Deletesame with arnav, but barun does not care which one comes where sad, angry, anything, his voice choice (i think) depends on which take it is.. third or seventh.. his voice changes from frame to frame sometimes..
and yes, voice modulation brings forth the beauty of the ambience of any show.. a husky voice pulls you into their world, a shouting/shrill voice makes you sit back into spectator mode..
and about the rough ASR.. he was perfect when he talked to khushi in the stars scene.. gruff, but raw and open.. there was a honesty to his character that made any mom want to go and give him a hug..
now, the arnav we see is so off that mark, that i'm sure this director's vision of the hero is different. so, i'll just enjoy the episodes as they come.
and knowing you, i have to say khushi is far off the original premise too..
I find that the actors are more comfortable with the new versions than the original.
Feel compelled to add my two cents here
Delete1) The spate of posts in IF mostly on GH being a warm place as compared to RM may be partially cause for feeling that A is received better in GH than RM; the CVs have never let us think that in an explicit manner ever, IMO...the first inkling was that of the "eating alone" part but i have not read too much into it
2) Its just that GH and RM are different, A's loner ways are accepted in RM and in GH, A is a revered "damaad" and lets not forget that BG have been receptive only after the holi episode when they "made up". Its like they now have the license...
3)About A becoming dependent on GH folks in future will depend entirely on whether there is conflict at RM, primarily due to TQ on the TF_K episode. Then it is interesting to know who will align with whom..
4)That said, its agreed A has wronged the GH family and how that will be unraveled will make up for an interesting plot...
5) Mami, Buaji, Garima, nani, Anjali are all nuanced characters...and they have been pretty much true to it. Anjali going the other way...mami showing her loyal side etc are all things that we can accept becos of some insight provided...In fact, my hunch is that Nani will be surprise element when the track about the past will be unraveled...even that insight has been provided a couple of times..

two, I also loved that he is sitting with them to chai.. he had no intention of eating the gol gappe, but he shared his time with them. mostly because he was apologizing to them, but also because he wanted to be there..(FB.. khushi and NK choosing bangles.. bitwa comes in, going up.. then sees them, asks for coffee and sits down with them.. not together and talking with them, but there, though alone.. because he wanted to be..)
three, khushi reads bitwa perfectly fine.. he really did not want GGs.. but when she says he doesn't want, his eyes change.. [Hmm.. so she thinks she knows me?] "i'll eat one!" [C'mon, forgive me and feed me.. will you? won't you?] ... and she does. there is forgiveness there.. and his relief at her forgiveness.. and then the spice of the gol guppa, he swallows it whole rather than taste it.. baruns expressions are so nuanced.. and sanaya, perfect as always.
her questioning eyes when he says he will eat.. she sees that he means it.. wants her forgiveness.. she decides to forgive.. and goes there.. (this is the first time he wants her to feed him.. the gravity of the situation..) paani down his chin.. she wipes automatically.. and uh oh![FB nainital.. the lassi moustache.. "wipe it bitiya, you are his wife, you have the right!" that day she did not.. but today she has..] and look at his face.. he accepts that it is her right.. wow. and she is releived that she did not read him wrong.. it was a request for forgiveness.. and acceptance of her rights as a wife.
it does not matter that I have to watch it 5 times, I think I get the expressions in their eyes now.. wow!
four. BG did want some reassurance of the arshi chemistry..and they accept it wholeheartedly..( gutur gutur lovebirds) the smirk and the giggle.. aww.
5,mami is quick to see things that others ignore. always. from the time she commented on sham's tours to the way she said buy on get one free at sangeet.. She has accepted that akash loves payal and payal is good... that much they showed today. bubbly.. her expressions do not match her face sometimes, she is much too mature to be a 9 yo..
6, yeah, the bedroom hajmola scene was so true to married couples everywhere!
7. he tries to tell her, dont make your own meanings from my words.. (was that a knock at IF where every word is taken as symbolism?)
8. he told her that he apologized to BG.. why? for shouting at khushi? for not calling G amma? ...why explain to bitiya? he wants to reassure her, yet not apologize to her.. [you provoked me, so no sorry for you! ].. those two are so... cute!

Btw who told us that Arnav will shout at Khushi about Shyam - just wondering? Uff shaadis in IPK land always are a harbinger for tough times ahead - just like in real life :P
My CCKKP moments of the epi:
"Ek kha loonga" (left unsaid - agar tum khilaa rahi ho toh)
"Yeh aapka tareeka. Humein pata hai ki aap maafi maangna chaahathe the" (aah! finally Khushi u r getting a hang of ur man. u notice his methods now is it?)
There was one more innuendo - "Program On hai On" and I told myself ki theek hai that promo is coming bhale not this week but it is still on!
Since Jaya brought up earlier ArHi epis, in those Arnav was trying to break Khushi and all that happened is she kept winning every round. So far every plan of Khushi's to stump Arnav has been backfiring on her.
Till date Arnav recalls the terrace MU only when Anji or Shyam are in the vicinity with Khushi talking senti or lusting (dettol rinse). At GH both will not be there.
Arnav has taken baby steps - on Tue, he tried to explain ki mera woh matlab nahi tha Khushi - a first for this man. He also told her he apologized to her family because he felt bad seeing her hurt that her family got dragged into it and he did not mean to. At Holi it was her pain at being unable ti understand or forget the racing heartbeat that made him tell her "Humaari dhadkanein ek ho jaati hain".
During this wedding Arnav will see the importance of a daughter's marriage for any parent and especially those from a lower income group as they wish her to have many more happiness and comfort after the wedding. Khushi meanwhile may see the rituals and recall her own hasty wedding. So will it be Khushi's pain alone or Khushi's pain at what will happen of her family once the truth of her wedding is out that will make Arnav tell her?
Why do I get this feeling that he may tell her the whole truth about seeing her on the terrace and she will refuse to return with him right then. But getting a call from Nani or Anji may go back - Anji falls sick or something. But I agree she needs to go back to RM this time round abhi or lil while later.
A nice touch: Khushi is folding clothes to put back in the cupboard - she had brought bothhers and Arnav's. She would have put his in but he himself shut the door and did not let her. She had to fight for a place in his life and his wardrobe but how willing is she to give him space in her wardrobe and her life. Plus this added to my doubts of ki kya Khushi will stay back? Dekhthe hain
khushi will ask him why he married her.. and arnav will shout that he knows about her and snake. this was a spoiler from mishti last week..

we see that arnav is far more relaxed in GH.. more human. why? i donno. maybe to pave way for the romance track.. at least till IPL is over.. (please CVs?)
ok there is always something more to see in a scene .... So can we say the kiss at last has been completed ..... Bitiya used the same portion of her right hand to wipe off pani from her lips and then HH's ;)
