So did Mami forgive Payal after all? That bit was unclear. She called her 'bahu', and Payal and Nani smiled ... so am guessing she did.
That was probably the fastest an MU has been sorted out in IPK-land ... so after all that wanting to hide their 'aarthik status', Beenaji comes and confesses right away ... =)) In front of the entire world! So much for hiding financial status.
Nani again all gooey over Khushi bitiya - Payal gets honorable mention too. And Arnav understands why Khushi refused the prize ... chalo, kuch toh samjha! Even though the bigger MU is in the way.
RRR leching after Khushi, holding her hand, daring her to slap him in public ... at least stamp on his foot or something, woman! Or make a noise - call out Di, Arnavji ... anything!
And Arnav sees all the wrong things again ... x( ... and sees red! As usual! ... no wonder red is his favorite color! Even though Anjali says Khushi was with her, he is not ready to believe her word over the evidence of his own eyes ... well, of course he isn't. He saw Shyam with Khushi, didn't he?
I liked the sweet interaction between Khushi and Anjali - the only sweet part of the episode today.
And YAMU erupts ... a huge, huge fight ... leaving Khushi completely broken, in tears ... what is she to do, if he won't tell her the reason he's angry with her?! How has she wrecked anyone's life ... what has she done?!
Why can't he say he knows she's lying because he saw her with Shyam?!
All she's done is tried to save Anjali's marriage and her life, especially with a baby on the way ... and is still trying desperately ...
She has to tell someone now ... Payal, if no one else ... now that the Payal saasuma equation is smoothening out ...

ReplyDeleteThere was some really good dialogue between Arnav and Khushi. Khushi especially said some important things but Arnav is still not saying anything and frankly I felt the fight was repetitive.
Status quo didn't shift at all. He still didn't tell her anything new- he should have at least alluded to Anjali. He once again told her she has to do what he says. She once again went into passive aggressive I will do what you say mode- so what should I do now.
We've seen this already... What was the point... If you don't want to clear the MU then why show scenes like this...it makes Arnav seem really silly.
Having said that there was some good dialogue... Gets us nowhere but good nevertheless.

now with nani gifting her jewellery and anji gaggin her mouth...he is thinking worse of her, that she is doing all this for money... how can he forget she started her own dabba service cause she doesn't want his ehsaan... and how she took a loan of 300 rs, when as a wife she is entitled to all the money he owns......
but then we remember that he stops thinking when he is angry...
so that means there is no chance of him doubting the MU n investigating further... building his trust in her...he will need something melodramatic to open his eyes... abhi toh aisa lagta hai ki saare proofs mile toh bhi woh trust nahi karegaa.... anji ne bola toh bhi nahi karegaa... she will have to leave him and all the gifts behind, for him to have even a slightest trust on her...... i think yeh 6 months aise hi jayengey......with some rabba ves, some nok jhok and lots of MU
she is also not using her brain at all..... everytime he drops lill hint which she refuses to pick up... telling Shyam that Arnav can man-handle her as he is her husband is not good enuf... please khushi confide in someone...atleast payal... make sure she stays around you as much as possible.... don't wait till TF tries to molest you and put the blame on u, saying that u tried to seduce him....
i think it was LM's plan of building the trust factor in this 6 months...now with him gone, they just want to drag the MU as long as the trp baba allows..... once they drop considerably...they will pick up from there...cause they know SaRun are favorite so no matter if we take a break, once ASR start trusting KKG we are bound to come back....
DeleteFor a story like IPKKND,and especially the characterisations of Khushi and Arnav, to progress smoothly requires taut story telling, crisp editing and a pre-defined timeline. As the story has entered fourth promo stage, I would have thought that we may see the end of IPKKND by 5 June 2012. The way the MU is being dragged in a repetitive fashion, I guess I was wrong.............more repetitions as the tubelights refuse to flicker?

Then in between was creeps lust on over drive making K uneasy and worried ...... Creep ogling K and A getting it in full view......today in few scenes all these factors have been incorporated again
can we say cv's will at last move the story ahead ???? The way they planned it and whatever have been the reason for this stupidity going on for last 3 weeks .... Be it change of director, finance, meeting schedule e.t.c ....... Or did they really plan anything worthwhile ????

thats the problem, Sama, what is she waiting for.... atleast speak to Buaji ....when anji's pregnancy news came she hoped that he would change, but he didn't he kept ogling at her.. then tried to caress her hand in front of his wife... she admitted tht he is getting bolder day by day, but she is not confiding in anyone.... these past weeks she wasnt even busy trying to find the reason for her marriage... now we can't expect her to be thinking bt TF's advances cause she is hurt cause of all fight... so again she is not gonna be worried by TF... feel the cv's has made is so complicated and they can't find a way out unless they change one of the character's basic traits....

I don't feel the urge of beating the c*** out of someone if something goes wrong with cable connection when it air .....when I got hooked to it I have spend sleepless night and worked like a zombie for a week ...... Reason behind is SaRun and the way they potrayed ArHi ......they even did it with pure intensity till the 200th episode ...even he hate was intense ......till holi confession everything was fine ..... My niece (who was Geet addict and now IPK) informed me to add up to my frustration that they are the same production house and Geet ended with similar fashion .....endless comedy and senseless seriousness ......don't want that for IPK if you have to end .....wrap it up good!!
Gargi cv's are doing a good job with ASR except the inbetween shirtlessness (not that its a crime and if he is ASR he cannot be shirtless, just din't like it and that bathroom uurrrggg TRP girne mein iska bohot bara haat hai ......just dint like it) but they have always shown K as reciprocating A in ArHi matters .....so cv's screwed ...... Not been fan of all the BIG moments the show in serial to rekindle trust .....was hoping something different here ......but alas, I'm all for the BIG moment now ..... Bring it on !! Get this going !

There is so much potential even after the MU...the back story, shyaam's full revelation, Anji's story, the way Arhi are even once everything is fine (one of my favourite episodes was when Arhi want to convince mami to agree for Payash's wedding and they both have totally opposite approaches...there is always potential for story even once they are firmly together because they are such complete opposites)...also the side stories of Anjali, Payash, MM (Mami and Mama)...
So it seems really lazy to drag the MU just because they wanna hit 500 episodes. There's nothing new about that...New would be if they can keep us hooked after episode 300.

Deletesama, so true about ASR shirtlessness.. and that bathroom (yuck)driving away at least half of the TV audience. most moms with young girls or old parents at home will have stopped watching (the serial) at primetime after that.
one, as long as there are innuendos, everything is fine. we can assume that little kids don't understand. if the chemistry is blatantly obvious and bare (wink) grandparents will say besharam serial why are you watching this? so, shirtless barun was a mistake to those two demographic.
two, the urban public who watch the story to unwind, (who are capable of thinking for themselves) are seriously irritated by the endless loops and turns of this MU track when, as Gargs correctly pointed out, there is so much more possible in this story after the MU clears.. It seems that the MU should have cleared after Holi, and yet they are making a production out of an easily clear-able MU, thereby making fun of the audience's dimaag.so this demographic is also losing interest.
yes, the leads are talented, and hot, but nobody watches a serial just to ogle.. (or maybe they do, I dont know.) shirtless barun suddenly lost that mysterious sexiness that ASR had. That bathroom in RM was an eyesore, but it was the bath scene that most people had a problem with. ASR would never do that! begging her to turn on the water.. so OOC! and of course it was OOC for khushi to turn off the water in the first place.
that one week of episodes.. however they were conceptualized.. broke every good thing about this serial. now the CVs are scrambling to bandage the wrongs that happened during that one week, but they have to go a long way to redeem what they damaged.
When I watch a hero for his ruthless angry yet honest character, I do not want him to suddenly act like a two bit romeo. it is just so awkward for a viewer like me.
ASR's mannerisms changed.. okay some people like the barun-ification of ASR, but I personally do NOT. it seriously icked me when he was licking his fingers after eating. one finger, maybe.. but four? eww.
should I keep watching or not? I will keep watching because I have y'all lovely ladies to keep me company. to reminiscence and ramble, has been one of the best coffee shops I ever went to.
but now you see why TRPs are dropping.

Except to try her best to keep away from Shyam, which she has been doing, till her idiot SIL pushed her own leching hubby at ODG!
Also, I need to re-watch, but has she figured out ODB's feelings to some extent? There was a line in there somewhere which made me think so ... waiting for the repeat to confirm.
If their fight continues in their bedroom, then there are chances that Khushi does confess ... otherwise, this is going round in circles. Or even better, let out something about RRR that makes ODB feel that everything is not as it seems. OR Anjali tells him she sent RRR with Khushi to buy medicines - that is the only other thing I can think of that might salvage the situation. Or better still, RRR disappear and Anjali ask Khushi to go again to the chemist, this time with ODB ... and the chemist drop some hint.
Girls - I know everyone is feeling down and I am too. Just watched the episode, honestly I thought today's was muc better than yesterday's. At least Arhi talked, that's big for me. I liked the fact that Arnav kept prodding Khushi to fight/talk back. He does not like her to give him the silent treatment. I'm happy that Shyam is getting bolder, although I absolutely loathe him touching Khushi. I cringe everyytime he does that.

Gargi - Agree with you on the repetitive nature of the scenes. The Rabba ve today was completely unnecessary,, heck I could not even enjoy the moment. Loved BS and SI in the confrontation scene.

Dia, for the first time, a comment you made hurt. Having been a huge fan of Geet, I did not like the reference to the Mahii audience. I don't think viewers of that show were just happy with the Mahiis when the show was going to the dogs. People protested in vain. Considering that it is the same PH here too, whatever they are doing is without regard to what the viewers want to see. Geet started going downhill when they began work on IPKKND. Hope their new show is the the cause of the shoddy work we have been seeing of late. The show has huge potential and it should be rightly tapped.

Jaya, I personally am not in favour of a show dragging on for years. They ruin it sooner than later if they do that, especially loves stories like IPKKND where they do not bother to develop the side characters. The leads cannot shoulder the weight of the story for years without the story becoming ridiculous. I'm all for the show to shut shop when they have told us what they set out to say. I do hope they clear this MU and get on with the story telling.
DeleteBy the way, I'm glad you liked the leads of Geet. They had fab chemistry but what attracted me to the show was the story where a man accepts another man's child as his own because of the deep love he holds for its mother. The the unrealistic conversion of the villian in to the second hero spelt the nemesis of the show and whatever they do here I do not want any redemption for Shyam whatsoever. He can be locked away after his true face is revealed to the world and he can return for revenge.

ReplyDeleteI watched an episode of EHMMBH today. It comes right after IPK...I have no clue what the story line is but I couldn't help compare the ways Arnav and Viren were tackling their problems. This Viren chap Quite a good looking one might I add!) makes a nice flow chart sequencing events and characteristics etc to logically figure things out. He also very calmly and normally caught the evil seductress or whoever she was(bad bad eye makeup and a horrible mini dress)and it wasn't melodramatic. What I liked was how logical he was...
(SN: he's cute but his brother (apparently younger??) looks like a thug:-s...I don't like such beefy guys-yuck)
hmmm...Now maybe if Arnav made a flowchart chronicling the sequence of events relating to him and khushi or asked Aman for a diagrammatic representation of his life he might start thinking a little bit more clearly...Lol
Gargoi - I like EHMMBH. Can't say I love it , nothing close to IPK, but things don't remain unresolved forever and ever... Sigh!!

Btw, I visited EHM forum today - hey, I was bored, and not much going on in IPK forum, and people there have similar complaints as us ... story not moving!!!
Another bit of useless info - Maryada, which is my other favorite show, has always been very watchable with good script and great acting ... In that, Priya, one of the four protagonists, is molested by BJ, who later becomes her FIL. She doesn't meet him before the wedding, gets to know only after that he is her new FIL, and keeps quiet for quite a few months because he threatens her ... and she realizes that her hubby, though it is a love marriage will not believe her.
Then she tells her MIL, who is well aware of her hubby's shady antics, MIL also takes time to believe her, and they keep her husband, BJ's son, clueless till about three months back, which was when the show was supposed to wrap up.
The difference is that there, they had a whole bunch of other very strong tracks to keep the show going - there were four separate tracks, all equally good. Here this is the main one ... so the cv's can't drag it for that long ... at least one other person HAS to get to know the truth, whoever it is ... Arnav, Payal-Akash, Nani ... am betting Anjali will be the last to know. Logically Arnav should be the first, as he already knows RRR is

Sahana, my mom was hooked to BV for the last 2-3 years ... she recently unhooked and got on to IPK because of the strong acting by the leads ... and their looks ... she loves Khushi, finds her a fabulous actress, and likes Arnav a lot too - she says he emotes very well with his eyes. But she liked BV because it wasn't a typical saas-bahu show, the inlaws were strong and very supportive, and the show took up relevant issues. So IPK overthrowing BV was a huge thing ... and if IPK cv's don't get their act together, BV will bounce back easily. They have a fabulous cast - Surekha Sikri is an excellent actress, and I think Farida Jalal just entered the show too. Don't know about the youngsters - I haven't watched the show, just caught glimpses on SBS.
Yep, Dia - It's truly up there. Nothing modern and sexy about it but very classy. I know the die-hard IPK fans may not like it but somehow it struck a chord with me and I am sticking to it :-) The young generation is very good too. Jaggia/Gauri and of course Anandi. Tell your Mom to go back to BV :-)
DeleteWith this shoddy storyline which is the backbone for any serial, I doubt how IPK will stick around for so long and be up there too. They have to build up parallel tracks with the other characters. Right now the whole burden of the show is on ARhi and that doesn't seem right at all.

DeleteI used to catch BV whenever I could when it had just started. the concept, story appealed. But when I happened upon it some time ago the overuse of glycerin kind of put me off. Now the otehr serial I see from time to time is Parvarrish on Sony. 2 families, children growing up, parental issues, rebellious kids - quite engaging and fun.

They are not planning it Dia. I had liked Mahi Way and always felt the fact that tehy had bounded timelines ensured the story moved forward at a steady pace. Here the team was initially doing fine and then I think someone channel or PH came up with this idea that we will keep teh story going for as long as we can and the story to be achieved in 3 weeks started getting dragged to 6 weeks or something and the audience was left wondering if IPKKND had 'Tonks' like qualities (Mtamorphagus is it?)
Gargi : seriously hate TF abusing khushi, haven't watched the terrace hug till date, due to this very reason.....hehehe

Agree bey there is so much more to keep this going for 300 more episodes. I think they did not think of story in terms of SPA, Holi, IPL and people going on leave. They are not planning ahead. Arnav ko chhod teh entire creative team needs a big whiteboard and needs to make flowchart

Agree I was telling Dia also yday that things will hopefully get a little worse and lots better. They need to maintain the pace. The pressure they have been building up needs to be sustained for anything worthehile to happen. And if they keep the pace, both will let rip something to get the other thinking. If they slack now..DANDAA

@CVs - do you know the difference between a photo and a story - the story MOVES! PROGRESSES! CHANGES (hopefully for the better) - does not stay static or repeat itself!!!! Really Dia had it not been for your blog (and the lead actors) i would have lost hope long long ago and stopped watching!

Some points i noted:
1) the snake was really repulsive today- his dialogue, expressions were horrid - gave me the goosebumps - so, good! - the villain is in action (BUT - why the hell is the Hero being a bigger villain? come on - the creep is ogling your wife - do something! and ODG! please react - just twisting your hand is really not good enough!)
2) why oh why are you the martyr again Khushi? that too for a lady who is pregnant and she is expected to be having dizzy spells!! But once the fight began - ok your reactions were justified
3) so many hints from both sides and neither picking it up :( only solace a few minuscule more words on why he hates her (caveat - will she use her hibernating brains?)
4) was all ready to be furious at ASR but realized that his anger got fanned when he thought that ODG was shamming concern for his Di while she was busy with her husband behind her back (though why would she be nice to Anji in that case - should she not be anti-anji, if she loves Anji's husband - or does ODB think so lowly of ODG that she needs both the guy and his golden goose :( )
And finally, the first RV did not make any sense to me - I have always wondered - if one is falling - why would one wait to be rescued - would not a more natural reaction be to shift your feet/use your other hand to steady yourself? - today however was the only time her not moving made sense - it was like she was judging and testing him - can he hurt me? (ps notice how he was holding her hand and how in the next shot it was her arm!!)
All in all - our patience is wearing out - the CV better not let this just be another half confession followed by yet another MU and fight - hope something better happens before the week ends!

clear the MU to whom it was created ... They don't have to show him confess right away or even say sorry to her ....totally goes with ASR ..... They can then show his conflict over loving the girl who is they reason behind his Di's sorrow. Innocent even a victim as much as his Di but still the reason ..... Not hating her for that but more of a self pity and being able accept love right away is also justified again ..... How do trust after so much betrayal ? His dad (?) his BIL ..... It will take time
along with A track ..... K may come to know about marriage truth and empathize not forgive ..... A unaware ....... Later they may come to a point where both realize they have been fighting for Di ...... Then all the tracks you mentioned ...... Then K set free to leave by A ...... Anji should be the one bringing her back and ask A to finally accept happiness..... Even her come back and wedding can be of 50 episodes ...... Nobody is going to complain ....... And then bring in whatever mighty past they have in their bag ...

oh and i agree there is a lot that can happen without stupid MU to take the story to 500 - nah, 1000 episodes - The CVs need to look at it this ways - they can drag the MU up-to the 300th episode BUT they will loose the audience - so then what is the use? this dragged story line will not even survive 300 episode - so create a tighter story line - get more sub plots and create a class apart series!
DeleteHello ladies, I've been following this blog since I found it a few weeks back, and I love all of your commentaries. I was completely addicted to IPKKND (a little down along with everyone else over the last few episodes) , it's my first Indian serial, I live in America and dont speak Hindi! So, this blog has given me some insight into things that I may have missed while watching the show. I actually started watching the serial at the end of February, and became so caught up with the story line that I started watching from the beginning and for three weeks straight after my baby went to bed I would stay up until 2-3am.. just trying to catch up with the story line. It was so riveting I just couldn't stop watching it. I've never been moved by two characters as I am with Khushi and Arnav (and Sanaya and Barun's acting!!!). But in todays episode the Rabba Ve didn't even move me. I was sooo glad the Mami/Payal MU was resolved I felt it was a bit useless.. I wish Payal had helped Mami get the award and establish a better relationship.. at least that would have shown Payal doing something besides being eye candy for Akash. I did like that Sham is getting bolder, he held her hand out in public where any family member could have seen him. At the very least he is stirring up some deep emotions for Khushi and Arnav. I hope he continues what he is doing and gets caught. Here is to wishing tomorrow is a good Episode.

Arnav's expression when he see's his wife with creepwa - he looks away in total anger and jealously when he sees his wife place her hand on Shyaams hand- too bad all the extras decided to stand in front of them...
I liked khushi's line... I'm fed up, you never say what's in your heart- your ego doesn't let you
Also liked that when both accuse each other of things they both react in the same- think what you want manner. Was very glad Khushi didn't get weepy.
Also I don't get symbolism but him not letting her go on the stairs in spite of him goading him.. Hmm he can't ever leave her not anymore at least...Oh well he says it himself today... "I can't let you go Khushi!"- literally & metaphorically...

After the precipitation of MU yesterday, I feel that the only way the MU can be cleared is by making Arnav realise Khushi's innocence on his own or from Payal. I don't see how Khushi coming to know of the reason for Arnav's erratic behaviour can help her make him understand that she is as much a victim as Anjali w.r.t Shyam and his machinations. Arnav does not seem to believe anything she says or does. He is convinced that she is a great actor who can stoop to any lengths to get what she wants - man and material.
ReplyDeleteIt is high time that Arnav starts thinking about what has transpired so far and begins questioning the glaring inconsistencies. Payal's testimony in favour of her sister should only confirm what he should already know by now. Given his huge ego and his enormous guilt, I don't think he may come clean with Khushi about his lack of trust in her but he may make amends in his own way and woo her back.
When thinks are beginning to look again with Arshi getting closer, Khushi can then come to know of Arnav's lack of trust in her and move away from him emotionally if not physically. That can then trigger of the great repentance followed by reconciliation. Arnav's past can be interwoven to help in the reconciliation process.
So there is enough to keep the show going even if the present MU gets resolved. It is high time they go ahead and clear the mess before they lose their viewers.

ReplyDeleteWhen Arnav enters RM, let him bump into TF and as him where he had disappeared during the evening. TF does nto know he was spotted earlier and is still worried about finances. So let him be desperately trying to tell Arnav that he had only gone to the medicine shop as TQ was unwell. (TQ told only Khushi to not tell Chotay.). Let him also use the oppotunity to return Khushi's hanky (all the while thinking how Arnav will blow it knowing she was with him). And Arnav will be confused to know that Khushi was with TF to get medicines and may he also recall how Anji told him Khushi was with her. Let Arnav wonder wagain about why Khushi kept quiet
Fingers crossed as they are now clearing MUs soon after they create it to increase Arnav's confusion. (my scenes are usually go phhhhuuuusssssss btw so no hopes)
And if in this frame of mind, he enters the room and sees that thread, will it be time for next MU?

ReplyDeletei totally understand your point - been bugging me too - i mean, i can (in a way) understand ASR very well and can find justification for all his actions and words - he really really believes the girl he loves so much is capable of such deception (and probably his past has made him so incapable of trusting someone even though her eyes mirror her innocence so clearly!) - my worry - if his hatred (built up to this severity because its not actually there so he has to create this stronger facade) - is supposedly so strong that he does not trust her at all - how will he ever believe her? - and here i feel that the CV might just go ppphhhhhuuuusssss - i mean after such a built up - what will happen this is so dramatic as to change him? - i don't want to have a feeling of being let down if he now believes her in the blink of an eye - get my point -
even yesterday - he believed in a sec that she was not hurting him by refusing to accept the award - it was when he saw her with RRR that he lost it - his love for her is so all consuming that he just cant accept her seeing with anyone else (whether she wants to or not is another point - a point he is not willing to look into)
So when it comes to trusting her with his feeling - he is so dead against it - how will the CV achieve a plausible reason for the change in him?

DeleteAfter all the build up, what will happen to make him believe her - he will put the pieces together himself listening to snippets from others (Khushi will not say one thing now to clear his MU, her silence always goads him on) and maybe sees Khushi confront Shyam again. But this time that confrontation will be the fighter Khushi ripping at Shyam like she ripped at Arnav at the guest house.
Why he will change after this - because his self worth will be shaken. He will feel he is not worthy of her love - that she was right.And his love for her and his guit for what he did will make him make life beautiful for her any which way. If he could give her 2 silver cins for her happiness then today with so much what would he not do.
yes Sandy agreed - that would be the logical thing to do - but at this point and time - they are not showing ODB use logic (with or without flow charts!!!) - he is just blind - to his own feelings of 'knowing ODG cant be a cheat' of her very truthful eyes, of her asking for a reason (would she being that is she were guilty of cheat him and of trying to fleece him of his money?)

Deletefor today's episode i want him to overhear nani-anji's convo while heading to his room....nani asking anji, bt khushi's where-abouts and anji telling her bt her dizzy spell n how she had send kkg to fetch the medi, also request nani to not tell chote, also inform her likewise she requested khushi also to not tell chote as he will get worried....this might calm down his temper....then he reaches his room n finds the dhaga, n again his anger erupts.....
also after reading some of the post on IF...i think the cv's are gonna confuse him a lot... one moment he sees her good side...next there is some MU...they will keep yo-yoing till one day it erupts where he says that marrying her was his biggest mistake and she replies that her biggest mistake was falling in love with him, despite him insulting her everyday...... that will flicker his tubelight and he might try to dig the truth....

wish we had met then - you would have touched 1 lac hits by end of September! (coz all problems are due to RRR - have to mention your take on the part where ODG finds out about RRR, bumps into ODB and breaks down - you took the episode to a different level!)

Shoot! my worst fears coming true - now they will drag this stupid build up of small MUs and heated arguments till June!! No HAA, it will not be a blast to the future - remember that in IPK land one day can be stretched for over two weeks but eventually they bring it in line with the regular calendar - so they got married on the 14th of Feb - now six months would mean July and in June they celebrate their first anniversary - so that's when ASR finds out the truth!

Arnav had told Khushi not to believe everything she sees. He who had always taken her at face value and judged her for the worst (broken laptop, coming back to RM after telling him she would never see his face). When he saw the terrace MU, he believed her to be at fault almost immediately without giving her a chance to speak, without asking her anything.

Now, when he sees her refusing the award, angry at her rejection of their togetherness, he still asks her why she did what she did. And he lets it go with that one time asking. But she does not want to disclose the noble intentions behind her actions. The Geeta says “Neki kar aur dariya main daal. Never expect anything in return for neki / goodness. For then it is no longer a neki / gift but a favour / ehsaan. Khushi does not want praise. The needy family’s happiness will be reward enough.”
Later, Arnav sees her with TF and again he looks for her to ask where she was and doesn’t let go with one time asking. He asks her again (perhaps spurred on by what he perceives her duplicitous behavior) but he still asks. And on the stairs, he also lets her speak and he listens to her. He does not interrupt even though he is angry, yelling at her but he still lets her speak and complete what she has to say. (Communication is part talking, part listening, part seeing and part understanding. What is left is that small bit of understanding needed from both ends.)
“Samajh Samajh ke samajh ko Samjho, samajh ko samajhna bhi ek samajh hai..”
Winners are announced and Nani promptly says that this win is Khushi’s “den” / gift to them. The happiness that this family enjoys today, Anjali’s happiness, Arnav’s success in hiding TF’s cruel nature is all thanks to Khushi’s silence – her “den” to the Raizada family. Khushi’s silence about TF’s true betrayal, his advances on her, Arnav’s hate and his having forcibly married her. She alone holds the key to this family’s happiness. They day she reveals all, each and every person will be shaken by the series of truths. If Anjali appears to be the peak of this pyramid, Khushi is its cornerstone / keystone.
Khushi is missing through all this and Nani promptly zeroes in on Arnav asking him if they had a tiff. Nani is getting more and more hints that things are not as they appear. She will not let it go easily.
The winners walk up to the R family and confess their role in making Payal and MB lose. It was a nice touch to say that Veena could not speak the truth because her ego stopped her. Is it not Arnav’s ego that stops him each time he comes close to telling Khushi the truth?
Arnav and Nani were the 2 people who realized the context behind Khushi’s actions because of what they saw. Both know that she had a broken engagement and somehow this scene made me feel that when it is revealed that TF was her ex-fiance, Arnav and Nani will both learn of it together or around the same time. While Arnav like today will realize the reason for Khushi’s silence on TF, Nani will realize and commend her for her non-chaotic handling of such a big matter. Even then she had said that Khushi had hidden of her broken engagement so that her pain does not cloud the happiness of others.
Khushi will tell Nani she did what she felt was right as she did not know about TF being married and even later she put paid to his advances hoping he will reform for the baby. (Khushi telling Nani about doing what she thought was right about the award and Nani accepting this. Also, Nani’s comment on how Khushi quietly handled such a big issue so well without creating a scene. She will accept that Khushi only meant well).
Thurs 5th Apr - Part 2
ReplyDeleteNani comments on how Payal and Khushi jointly contributed for this result thereby telling the rest of the family that Khushi too was involved, silently. And she goes on to say that Payal knowingly (jaanboojhkar) relinquished her chance to win while Khushi who unknowingly (anjaane main) won scarified. Payal has continued to knowingly keep quiet about TF and how Khushi was forced to get engaged to him. Will Nani accept Payal’s knowing silence tomorrow and accept as she would perceive it as an act of righteousness for Anjali’s well being? (Payal does not know of TF’s evil nature – she only knows he is a married man and was engaged for a while to Khushi which she has hidden knowingly. Khushi who has seen glimpses of his evil nature and is unknowingly caught in the MU created by him, has sacrificed her life for Anjali’s happiness and well-being with the baby on the way. Both have done what they think was right.).
(Looks like when the TF truth is revealed to the family, the contract marriage truth will also come out at the same time and it will be Nani who will inform the family of the extent of Khushi’s misery in this whole mess) However Anjali would still not know at this point in time and be in the dark.
(I am not sure if I explained it well but the play of the words janboojhkar, anjaane main and the involvement of both the sisters in a specific event along with Nani’s reaction to the same was what struck me)
On hearing the truth, Aakash turns for that single “Payal?” and he understood her silence. But he did not go out of his way to commend her gesture. Also, at this moment, Aakash chooses to look out for his mother who has been hurt in this whole neki incident. Her dreams of winning and acceptance speech put paid to and it is this he addresses and maybe he also counseled her on Payal’s good hearted intentions. MB is still sarcastic but she publicly called Payal bahu today and not KBT as she is usually wont to. Aakash is going to be hurt Payal hid the TF truth from him.
Once his anger is doused, the first person on Arnav’s mind is Khushi. Her continued absence worries him. It is only a little later that he realizes that TF too is missing. And his worry increases. But note how he does not jump to the conclusion straightaway that they must have gone off together. He takes steps to investigate. Would the ASR of yore bothered to do so much? Somewhere Khushi’s concern and care seem to be making him think. He goes looking only for Khushi caring too hoots for where his conniving jija could be. And he asks for Khushi Singh Raizada (oh my long wanted personal wish to hear her be addressed thus) and also clarifies that he, Arnav is her husband. The organizer confesses a mix-up because of the earlier costume he had seen Arnav in.
CIP – How easily can we form impressions from what we see and how easily can they be wrong. A man with a woman automatically makes us think they had a relation. A woman in a man’s arms automatically makes us think she is there willingly.
Arnav does not jump to any conclusions just yet. He does not think Khushi went out with TF.

TF is finally showing signs of being a villain I can truly hate. He is so thrilled to have had private time with Khushi (DDR). He even goes to the extent of telling her how her slap will also make him happy because this way she will touch him (YUCK!!!). Khushi is barely paying heed and just like Arnav, her indifference annoys TF and he grabs her wrist. (More of this and Khushi will gradually question herself how she can react so differently to 2 people. It is the indifference of the ones who matter to us that angers and annoys us. We want them to look at us and hear us when we talk to them as if ratifying that we are the most important thing to them)
Thurs - 5th Apr - Part 3
ReplyDeleteWhen she tries to release herself, TF queries her if only Arnav can apply force on her. She hisses out about Arnav being her husband (thus acknowledging her having given him the power and permission to do so). Khushi’s retort makes TF laugh (because he knows of the sham). He compares Khushi’s relationship with his wedding.

Coming out to gather the family, Arnav spots TF with a girl. He is shocked to see how bold this uncouth man can be. The family is around, his wife is in the vicinity and yet he has walked out to spend time with a girl. Initially Arnav did not think it was Khushi. He saw them holding hands and then he saw the bangle and that’s when he flinches away in agony. He also did not see the last bit when Khushi twisted her wrist to free herself. He only saw TF’s smiling face. No hint of any force there. Arnav realizes that both went missing and both were together. It pierces him because he is still reeling from having opened his heart to his “Heer” realizing he misjudged her actions and was actually repenting being harsh and BAM all the old wounds are mercilessly ripped open. Jealousy burns through Arnav. Seeing TF lie to the family on where he was further angers Arnav. He is no way going to believe TF’s act of innocence anymore. He is scum as far as Arnav is concerned who has to be borne simply for his Di’s sake.
Arnav still has not assumed the worst of Khushi. He needs to know where and why she went. He gives her a chance to explain. That is what was different from the terrace and here. Then he never asked her but today he asks.
Anjali eager to not throw Arnav into a panic covers for Khushi and confirms her presence backstage. Arnav is confused why she did that when he knows she was elsewhere. Whenever Khushi has realized a new facet of evilness in TF, she has always kept quiet for Arnav’s sake. To shield Arnav from the hurt he will have to live with on account of his concern for Anjali (TF truth initially and poolside bump into Arnav, TF stalking truth on Payash wedding and Anjali’s pregnancy news, TF continued lust today and Anjali’s promise to not disclose her illness). Khushi is also fast realizing that TF is diabolical and soon will affirm that he is beyond redemption. What will she do on that day – warn TF that if he does not mend then she will end the very reason of his philandering, herself – for the sake of Anjali’s and therefore Arnav’s happiness? Is that when TF will enlighten her that Arnav already knew of his intentions?
Arnav’s jealousy and vindictiveness only come to the fore when he sees what he perceives to be Khushi’s duplicity – in her concern for Anjali while seemingly betraying her behind her back with TF. The other day it was about Anji wishing for Khushi’s long life, today it is her expressing happiness at Khushi’s concern. Then the brother Arnav is wakened – the one who believes Khushi is a betrayer.
He again demands Khushi to tell him of her whereabouts. And lets her know what he knows. (progress progress). Khushi would have told him but for that promise. She cannot lie so she deflects the query with defiance. In the past on Holi, fighting for the bathroom, Khushi told Arnav that she is his wife. Today he says he has a right to know about her because she is his wife. But Khushi after that green room scene is fed up. Was she not his wife then and if yes then she also had a right to know. After all this relationship if not like a switch that you press on or off to suit your moods. Khushi is angry but she is not yelling or just trying to push his buttons. She talks of how Arnav has made a mockery of her life, how he never speaks his heart because of his ego, how she is fed up of being threatened and blackmailed for every small thing.

ReplyDeleteBut this is not what Arnav asked and he knows she is digressing. He asks her to get back to the point which is simply a question about where she was.
(Happens in real life too :D When you are annoyed at yoru spouse, a simple trip to the mall can also be made an issue of because there is some residual tension or issue both are annoyed about. Why should I tell you when you don’t tell me. Humph!)
It is her continued refusal that pushes Arnav further to being vindictive. He wants an answer, so he is now pushing her buttons about wealth and wanting praise. The I don’t want to talk to you or hear from you was so reminiscent of the temple engagement scene. Khushi’s silence and indifference had pierced Arnav even then. He is in for the same ride now but this will be worse because he knows his feelings now and also there are many more loving moments of her to recall.
“I can’t let you go Khushi” – You thought he said from the door – hah! He meant form the doorway, from his room, from his life, from his heart, not today not ever!! (Kyunki Khushi ke bina Arnav ka koi wajood nahi hai. Woh ek zinda laash hai)
The man who by the poolside said that he did not know what was going on in her brain today demands to know her plan. Khushi is flummoxed, what plan is he talking of. Arnav is confused about her and he just does not know what to make of her. Khushi’s talk of not mocking jazbaat and Arnav’s I don’t care and not being able to pretend being nice, reminded me of the time Khushi came to beg him to reconsider letting Lavanya go. Arnav has always maintained that people pretend to be nice and good. It is all an act. Such people always want something.
Arnav is stil pestering her for an answer (Why? This could have been ended by now. But no, he needs to hear from her why she keeps doing conflicting things. She seems to want one thing but her actions depict something totally different. Arnav will one day realize the conflict is not because f her but because of his perception of her). Khushi has nothing more to say. She has said all she has to already and many times. She does not understand the questions, he does not let her answer (not true he did give you a chance here sweetie). She is fed up of fighting back as it seems to get her nowhere. She taunts him about scolding her and yelling at her without a reason. And Arnav lets slip that there is a reason for all the anger and that is her. Offered an answer to her puzzle, she accepts wanting to know the full picture, the reason for this intense hate and anger since the wedding. She is tired of his accusations, of defending herself of fighting the unknown.
He has told her she has hurt him, she is the cause for all his anger. He hates her for what she has done, what she tried to do. How despite hating her, he has to see her every day, he is stuck with her in this temporary marriage) The last seemed like how despite hating her he NEEDS her and how he is stuck in a temporary marriage when he would have happily married her forever.
And another hint slips of how he HAD to marry her for otherwise she would have destroyed another’s life. Khushi is surprised how he could accuse her of that. She who can never hurt another destroy a life. And the fact that he spoke of her destruction when he had destroyed hers ticks her off. So she throws it right back in his face about how a Man cares for no one is worried about someone else life being destroyed (he destroyed Khushi in a blink with those video tapes).
Arnav barks out “Just because I hate you does not mean I hate the entire world” (If Khushi was calm she would have realized that Arnav has boundless love for his Di and if her life is being destroyed he would be this worked up). Khushi’s acerbic retort “You are mistaken. You are not capable of love (feeling it or giving it – pyaar ke kaabil here did not mean you do not deserve to receive but you are incapable of giving love)

Khushi had said in the play that 2 people in love only need to read each others eyes but his insecurity about losing her and her insecurity about not being important to him are causing both to forget this. They keep seeking verbal assurances.
Khushi walks back and as she is about to fall, Arnav unhesitatingly almost by reflex reaches out to grab her hand. The Rabba Ve made sense because it seemed more from Khushi’s end. A girl who had woven dreams around a man who had unfeelingly crushed them. Who was driving her to the brink of despair and spoke of hurting her, who confessed so much in the play about how he never meant any hurt to her was still accusing her of destroying others. Yet he saved her, never let her fall. Arnav was shown somber as if to him it was something he would always do – whether he loved her or hated her. What did his actions and words, their being right or wrong have to do with his saving her!
Khushi is angry and challenges him to let her go after all he does hate her is it not? Arnav’s Don’t dare me Khushi seemed like the post pag phere temple scene wherein she asks him will he carry her home if she refuses to come. Khushi reminds him that he has dropped her once before. As Arnav slowly moves his hand back, notice the look of disbelief on Khushi’s face as if she did nto think he would actually do it. Somewhere she does not believe him to be that ASR anymore. Khushi has challenged ASR’s ego and he is not going to cave in. But the moment her eyes close and she cannot see his vulnerability, when she give in to him, he cannot carry on the charade and pulls her back (almost like the ending of the dance). And with her in his arms, it is always right, he always finds his solace and moment of peace. Arnav I think keeps challenging himself that he is capable of causing her hurt and seeing her suffer but always breaks at the end in his attempt to break her. Khushi is again confused by his contradicting responses. She is heartbroken at his need for control (all thought of the original query forgotten by this time)
Arnav once told Khushi how much she observed him, today he accepted that she has a good grip on his likes and dislikes – will he soon realize that no one understand him like her? His biting remarks from today will haunt him the day he realizes Khushi’s innocence. He will be unable to live with himself for having destroyed her life many time over and will consider himself unworthy of her love.
He tells her to never question the Why, How and What as long as they are married (like any husband in an assertive mood in a fight). But her silence rankles.
