Monday 23rd April
Very decent episode - a few touches reminded me of Delhi ;) - Arnav's saying 'switch on the motor if the water has gone' ... and Khushi's calling out 'bijli aa gayi!'
And I liked that they seemed to take the scenes slowly today ... not rushing through, as has been my complaint the last few episodes.
The pump bath scene was quite funny ... found it hilarious the way the neighbors were happily holding forth with casual conversation while Arnav was being bathed ... Khushi bitiya, don't you feed him, how thin he is ... come over for breakfast one day, beta ... all the the day's work for them to see someone bathing under the community pump, kids and all, might as well issue a meal invitation while we're about it =)) Khushi reminding him that this was not humiliating, people bathe like this all the time - exactly what I was saying! And Arnav stalking off as soon as he possibly could, with the ASR dignity in tatters :))
Arnav discovering there is still no 'bijli' ... again, so familiar in Delhi until just a few years ago! And electricity comes back just in time for him to order a big meal.
Liked the Garima and Buaji scene a lot ... the two ladies whispering over the huge bill ... and somehow putting together the money to pay it ... LOVED the touch that Khushi sends money home for her family from her dabba business - a girl has as much right to support her parents as a son has!
Loved the way Arnav was thoroughly embarrassed that the women had paid, he hadn't meant for that to happen at all, and he felt really bad ... loved the way Buaji and Garima refused to take money from him ... loved the way Khushi was angry and hurt initially and ready to believe the worst as always, that he'd ordered his own food to humiliate the Guptas ... and then melted instantly as she saw he had ordered for everyone, keeping their tastes in mind ... loved the way Arnav ordered 'teekha' for Khushi, he knew her taste, even though it differed from his own ... loved the way he showed Buaji and Garima how to eat with a fork, and they happily followed his lesson and enjoyed the unfamiliar food ...
In short, loved the entire dining room scene ... and all the little details and nuances ... :)
When his driver called him for the car, my first thought was - this guy never gets to eat his meals! And as Khushi is always ready to believe the worst of him, so is he ready to believe the worst of her ... Liked Arnav's line - I can bathe in public, but I can't yell at you in public?! No, you can't, Arnav bitwa ...live with it!
My guess is that Appyji has done the needful, to keep the spare parts safe in his shop ...
RRR is back ... yippee!!! Villain back to villainy, now maybe we can get some movement in the story! And RRR is up to his tricks again, he finally manages to get the key made ... but Mamaji seems to be his nemesis ... now Mamji sees him getting the key made, and what's more, an obviously duplicate key made from a soap impression!
The precap ... this was some major movement, so I liked it ... but Khushi was not being purposely irritating when she was telling Arnav to call Garima Amma ... so I wonder how it will play out ...
*edited* with a few added thoughts.
The bath scene - on second watch, my thoughts are the same - no big deal. And Arnav too changed his mind slightly when he also saw that no one was laughing or belittling him ... it was all in the day's work for them. Which was why his only reaction to Khushi was just a sulky 'don't talk to me,' rather than a full blown tantrum.
At the start, loved the way Khushi was happily standing at the door, waiting for his reaction, and turned instantly to guilt when Buaji and Garima appeared - like a little bachhi, scared of being found out, because she knew she would get an earful from them ;) And the switching between concerned wife for the benefit of the G ladies, to the barely hidden gleeful grin as she turned back to the door ... again, her expressions were hilarious, changing so swiftly ... well done! And after his calling for his fancy bath gel, she gives him Lifebuoy for a bath! =)) How the mighty have fallen! =))
And her saying, Indra can help ... Arnav says, ok, call Indra, I'll speak to him =))
It was quite funny the way the neighbors casually struck up normal drawing room conversation all through the bathing - how are you, dear? Fine ... the water went, so I brought him here ... completely understandable for everyone :) What does your husband do? ... He runs AR ... the community pump, a place for washing clothes, filling water, bath if necessary, and a meeting spot for the community :) Loved Arnav's expression when he first opened his eyes and saw where he was, with all the activities going on all around him, and Vimla aunty asking him, how are you? as though they were back in the Guptas' living room :)) Vimla aunty's helpful 'wash the soap behind his ears, beta' ... another =)) moment!
Arnav alone scene waiting for the electricity to return, frustrated when he couldn't do a thing without it - again bang on and so realistic. Feel the same way every time I go to Delhi, except that with inverters, the problem is not so much the fan and light, it's more the absence of internet - that doesn't work on the inverter. And the relief when the electricity was back ... how dependent we have all become on electricity! Can't function without it for an instant!
The entire dining room scene was done with a BD - Sanaya shot for her parts separately. Must say, her expressions are bang on. So she has already started shooting for her scenes separately to make up for the days she will be away.
The way Khushi was holding on to the dabba that Arnav ordered for her was really sweet - as though she has just received some manna from heaven. This girl is so hungry for the slightest sign from Arnav that he actually cares about her.
Garima was cute, the way she watched Arnav carefully and then tried to use her fork ... and Khushi's slight tearful laugh as she saw her amma try the unfamiliar fork, and Buaji try the mac'n'cheese, was very sweet.
So will Khushi realize that another of her pranks rebounded on her? She asked her mom and buaji to prepare tasteless food for Arnav, but her mom and buaji ended up paying when he ordered food from outside. And showed Arnav in a different light as well ... that he ordered for everyone, not just for himself, and actually put some thought into the process. Though not sure whether Buaji and Amma actually liked the Italian food - mac and cheese and fusilli? Or were they just being polite?
Again, Arnav bitwa showed better behaviour today - slowly getting used to the Gupta house, and actually trying to be nice when Buaji switched on the cooler for him - yes, I'm fine, buaji. Liked him today - very much in character - unable to reach out because of his own inhibitions, but genuinely trying his best. Reminded me of the temple scene with the little girl and the pigeons. And Khushi saw that ... again felt bad for her. The more of this sweetness of Arnav that she sees, the bigger her heartbreak is going to be. Why is he nice to everyone else except for her, why does he believe in everyone else but not in her ...
Car scene - on re-watch, am very sure again that Happyji, to be helpful, and to keep the car safe, has removed the wheels etc. Have heard of people doing that when they go out of town for a long vacation, especially for their foreign cars - wheels and steering wheel. Haven't heard of the seats also being removed - that's a first :))
So Arnav has realized that she is doing her best to irritate him - but has he realized the reason? That it's to get the truth out of him, or to get herself thrown out of RM? The first he should wonder at, and that should drive him to the realization that she is not in cahoots with Shyam ... so that's not gonna happen. Maybe he has a dim idea of the second, and that's why he's holding on to his temper ... and also maybe, he's just affected by the goodness and acceptance of the G neighbors. He's left with nothing much to fight against ... except Khushi, of course.
But the trust has not built up fully on his side - he's quick to believe that she could have stolen the wheels etc to irritate him. Not to steal them per se ... that much he does know.

Today's episode was excellent! I really enjoye the dinner and the car scenes...
ReplyDeleteLoved Garima and Buaji in the dinner scene...wish Arnav had paid but also liked the scene where they wouldn't let him pay ( so glad they mentioned that Khushi gives money home... These little things matter so much)...Arnav remembering to get stuff for her family and even her- how touched she was ... And how cute were Garima and Buaji learning how to eat With kaata choori;-)
I loved how Arnav calls her out and then promptly starts telling at her:-) he knows his wife is crazy enough to have done it... Lol...
Line of the day : you can make me bathe in front of the whole neighbourhood but I can't shout in front of them??!
Precap: excellent- really looking forward to it
Yippeeeeeeeeee, I got this one right:). He did Order food for the entire family.
DeleteWhat was the point of public bathing again? If it was for the dialogue, They can see me bathing but can't see me shouting at you, lol.
Ah, Precap, high hope of it, CVs matki mat phodna, grrr
I want this you know, I want him to tell Garima and Bua, how they got thrown out after their parents death and how he was very close to her and it is hard for him to call him as Maa.And sort of a sorry in his own way, ki aap plz bura mat maaniye, I don't call you amma, It is out of no disrespect to you. And I want Garima to say, it doesn't matter to me what you call me you are as good as my son.
He will call her Amma one of these days, without the prompting after the MU gets sorted, that has to be a moment worth waiting yaar.
Oh oh, What will happen to my Arnav blasting Guptas for hiding Shyam's truth scene, Can I get both?
I want that bonding scene, plz CVs.
but i want her to shout at him that her mom is also dead... (pout)
DeleteGargi, I also loved that he doesn't ask her what she does with the money she ears. Dunno,do whatever you want with it.
DeleteAnd that was awwwwww, First I was 5K for one guy, WT? And was elated he ordered for everyone, immediately insisted on paying realizing how much it would have cost them, I am sure he will somehow convince Khushi or G to take the money, I hope.
And he did a thoughtful thing, Khushi was soooooooo proud, see this is the KHUSHI we longed for, someone who shows her emotions when it comes to him, awwwwwwwww.
And when he taught them how to eat, it was not condescending, a genuine attempt to teach them.
Great epi.
I mean jaya pouting, not khushi.
Deleteshwetha, he has never opened his heart to anyone but his di.. and even now has locks on 6 sides of his heart (2 are open, i believe) so why would he talk to ODG's family? being polite and good mannered is one thing, opening up heart's secrets is another thing altogether, right?
just because he talks to khushi and explains himself to her does not mean that he will do the same for all and sundry..
Lol @ who is pouting.
DeleteJaya, I think he will. You know why, he has never explained any of his actions to his family, he explains in his own way to Guptas.
I repeat this again, he has never disrespected the Guptas, All his class aukad crap is reserved exclusively for Khushi as a sort of defense mechanism.
There is a very subtle change in the way he speaks with her Amma & Buaji, When he talks to them it is with respect and it is very soft and somewhere there is also a different connection.
There is an attachment towards the family who adopted Khushi, plus the guilt of being the one responsible for Payal's broken marriage.
Also, this is a guy who brought Jewels for Mami but never gave it to her directly sent it through Mami. Here he is comfortable and comparatively more expressive, the way he explained why he ordered which item for whom.
It will happen Jaya, I can feel it. *SHIDDAT ALERT*
I actually want a scene where buaji & Amma are telling him sanka devi kay kaarnaamay and he has the evil smirk, Aha Khushi, you did that, lol.
The next week will be assuming they are not rushing with the ME, bonding of Arnav and Gupta Ladies. *SHIDDAT ALERT* AGAIN.
shwetha, yes, i can see that he takes a different tone when talking to the gupta ladies (including payal)... but am not convinced of the reasons you presented.
Deleteno, he is not class conscious. that has been underlined time and again.
he explained every food item, most prob'ly because he knows that they've never seen such food before. (and he got teekha specially for khushi... awww)
the food debate is not over.. we will see the rest tomorrow, I hope.
shwetha, I love "sanka devi's adventures" ... SHIDDAT!
@ Jaya...ya it really was an awww moment...Khushi ko teekha pasand hai isleye...(trailing off)
DeleteI like guys like that...Overly expressive guys are kinda a turn off...its so much sweeter when they know what you like and go out of their way to make sure it happens but aren't too verbose.
Also Jaya I really dont want Khushi to say her Amma is also dead...Arnav doesnt have an adoptive mother, Khushi does and she's standing right in front of her...so I really hope she doesn't say that. I think it would undermine the fact that Garima loved her like her own daughter.
@Shweths...you sooo called it on the food thing!!...
I really liked how they refuse to take money from their daamaad...it was really nicely done. Simple not OTT. Very realistic...'Why didn't you call me??' his discomfort when he realised they'd paid.
I think it would be nice to have a scene later on -much later on- where Khushi is being all lovey dovey and Arnav is like hello please don't go all mushy on me!(his standard response to anyone being loving towards him) but Khushi refuses and in a 'sorry you're just going to have to get used to it' kind of way and he's secretly sort of happy about it.
"
All his class aukad crap is reserved exclusively for Khushi as a sort of defense mechanism.
"
-absolutely true and bang on the money as usual:-)
I loved Khushi's expression...beautifully done...you could feel her radiating 'sadda haq'- yes my husband is a handful for my very middle class family to manage - but he cares about you, in his own way.
Jaya, For me it was not so much the food, the way he has in his own way noted everyone, remember Khushi thinks he is self centered adn doesnt care about others, which is true. But he always cares about Family. So by this he has also accepted Guptas as his family not cos of Payash but cos of his marriage to Khushi.
DeleteGargi: I think so too, I dont think even she will push him that much. What is likely going to happen*shiddat alert* When he blurts out about his mom and Stuns Khushi into silence, It will be Bua, who will whisk away Khushi on some pretext leaving Arnav and Garima alone looking at each other awkwardly.
He will probably fumble and say some, Aunty, I am sorry or something and she will say, do not worry especially about Khushi, she is still a kiddo at times and it doesnt matter to me if you call me amma or not, you are Khushi's hubby and Payal's Jeth, so you are our son on two accounts (Effectively making sure he looks out for both Khushi and Payal)
Gargi: Ooooooooh SHIDDAT - Bitiya fussing him, Bitwa going WT and secretly very proud about it, hayeeeeeeee!!
Gargi, her fussing over him and him being happy about it.. already done.. (though it was her being gopi vahu, he did not know that...) I would love one such scene from the heart. shiddat!
Deleteshwetha, it was not how he ordered the food, my focus was on how he explained it... same as your point.
and I love your prediction of how it will turn out:)
I also don't think he will speak to either the Garima or Buaji about it ... he will clam up again, or if we're really lucky, he will yell at Khushi about it. Till now Khushi is hte only person to have seen that vulnerable side of him, and that too, because he knows she is also an orphan, and feels the same pain.
DeleteKeep in mind that the end point has to be his breaking loose enough to tell Khushi he knows about her and Shyam. So I'm not holding my breath for any major bonding scene. Okay, I'm lying ... *rofl* I still want that night scene with both staring at the stars, in silence, if nothing else ... but I don't really expect very much. If the spoiler is true, he has to break loose in anger.
If there is no ME this Saturday, does this mean we might get that scene before Friday? Again looking at logistics - if SI is off to UK, and I noticed she has already started shooting her scenes solo, it would make sense for them to show that scene as early as mid-week, and him going back to RM alone.
Has the promo aired yet? Haven't been on IF this morning.
Dia,
DeleteLike how u even planned out the epis till next Wed taking into consideration SI is travelling :) We are such a helpful lot man :)
Tumhaara bina waistcoat ka ishaara mil gaya na is week.
Shwetha, I hereby eat my words.. hats off girl!
DeleteLoved the bits I was able to watch between the IPL!! first the today wasn't any OTT Khushi, even the public bath was better than what I thought it would be. So creepwa giving his weekly attendence. Now although why mama landed there is question, happy there is one more witness to his plans.
ReplyDeleteHaven't been able to watch the ordering food and them eating, Loved the car scene, liked where he saying I can bath in front of others but can't shout at you.
He so knows his wife to think it might have been her plans to get him.
And precap is promising.
Good we got few shiddats today- 1 the food he ordered for everyone and the G's scrambling to pay the bill and K seeing the other side of Bitwa.
Aaru: Mama was the one who saved her on new year's eve from being electrocuted remember? Now he has seen his damaad makes duplicate keys. Who knows it just might add up, you never know.
DeleteI love Mamaji, so the more we see of him, it is always good:)
Yep remember shwetha .Me too love Mamaji and yes he good actor just that he hasn't got good breaks.
DeleteAnd i think he has a doubt about RRR because he did not buy the excuse, but just let it go. but he will be attentive now. so will mamaji the key for MU ?? hope mamji gets more screen space. Would to love to see his and Khushi's bonding along with Bitwa.
I really really like mamaji...hope his role increases if they plan to cut down on Arhi screen time..
DeleteAaru & Gargi: Mama is too good and yaar Mama-Mami chemistry is too cute his Manuuuuuuuuu, lol.
DeleteOkAY Wild guess here, We know Shyam is going to get access to the file and somehow Arnav finds out that Shyam knows, his only suspect would be Khushi cos of the wet purse thing. That would explain why he finally blurts out the truth, before that I want to see Arnav-Guptas and More Arnav-Khushi scenes.
Okay I am guessing Chai under the stars is coming up on wednesday. Remember these two always talk about their parents under the stars. So khushi has broached a sensitive subject, you can bet Arnav is sitting outside and she comes out with the tea and even if they don't have a heart to heart, just sitting together drinking tea and savoring their moment of sitting together and not fighting.
I wouldn't be surprised if she talks to his mom and calls him as Amma, making him go all awwwwwwwwww
That will be amazing Shewtha. you know you just read my mind. Me too thought exactly the same thing after I saw the precap again and came her to write the same thing. Hugs shwetha!!
DeleteDM please!!! we want chai under stars
Ooohhh ... I want that!!! PLEASE, cv's ... SHIDDAT ... chai under stars please ... before Khushi realizes that she has to irritate him again ... one soft sweet tender moment :)))
DeleteCollective Shiddat power...i so want that scene u have described above.....they have to talk about their past in some form.....don't care what they speak....let them say anything....ideally i want them to hold hands but thats for later, maybe in RM someday.
Deleteyeah.. amma, push khushi out to apologize to him! DM, shiddat!
DeleteAdding my shiddat for an ArHi scene under stars!
DeleteGirls,
ReplyDeleteLiked the episode
Highlights :
the dining table scene.., khushi's reactions ( the love in her heart keeps peeping thru all her antics)
Glad that the money aspect was clarified...have never understood the fuss made about girls supporting their families after marriage. It is a simple fact, not all families may be sensible about their finances in their retired lives so if a boy can support his parents why not a girl. Its great if everyone can be self reliant, thats the ideal state but if situations are not conducive, its a responsibility that children will fulfill irrespective of gender. Agreed, the recipient may feel awkward due to years of social conditioning but tats a diff matter.
The tyres scene shows that A thinks that for K, everything is a prank...trust edifice is very weak
A promising precap..as Jaya said....hope she gets to retort.... I think its about showing A that one can move on in life despite setbacks.. Her insistence on him calling her mother "amma", what is really about? she wanting him to feel for the relationship or is he out to irritate...that aspect is not clear..
The bath scene passed off okay,..while i agree that they could not have shown it differently, showing that a man can't open his eyes in such a situation makes it look it a bit silly...but i will let it pass in view of what the scene meant to achieve.
If Arnav's gesture of ordering for everyone came through, the best for me was Khushi's sheer happy plus proud expression as if to say to her own family, see how much he cares, awwwwwwww moment of the day....CVs.can we have more of these pleaseeeeeee.
DeleteI think it is just to irritate him at present and she doesn't mean it now that he should call Garima as Amma. Who knows subconsciously, she hopes just like Khushi has accepted R family as her own, so does Arnav and he calls Buaji as Buaji why not Amma?
Yes shweths....all this is a bit layered...
ReplyDeleteesp when u see her reaction to A being nice to her family, almost as if she wants this for real
My confusion on the precap was more becos of her expressions...it did not look as if she had done ths to irritate...maybe something must have happened, an nice Amma-Arnav scene that preceded which K has witnessed and somehow she wants A to have that sense of family...so she asks him....perhaps....
However, in this scene, i want Garima to step in and say something soothing....that " i know ur mom will always be very special for u, don't feel pressured to call me Amma, i am fine however u may address me"....something like that.....
I think he will walk off ... he is too private to expose his feelings to anyone other than Khushi at the moment. I think Garima will step in and explain to Khushi that don't pressure him, his mother obviously means a lot to him ... and then Khushi will go out and apologise to him, and maybe *SHIDDAT* ... we get that stars scene.
DeleteBecause I felt the same as Rekha - Khushi wasn't saying that to be purposely irritating ... let's see how it plays out tomorrow.
Dia, i liked ur scene better than mine....urs is more realistic..garima may feel too awkward to say this to Arnav...and also the greatest impact for A will be when Khushi will tell him that....power to this shiddat....all fingers..toes crossed....
DeleteSN :Is it just my feeling? Don't u guys think that Garima (Pyumori Mehta) has started getting better with her expressions....somehow i feel the meatiness in her role will increase in times to come...
ReplyDeleteYep, I feel the same, she has definitely improved. If there is a link between Khushi and Arnav's past, Garima has to be a part of that link, so hopefully her role will increase with time.
DeleteI still miss the old Garima though - in such a scenario, she would have been better - she had a certain grace and elegance about her, this one is sweet and pretty, but doesn't somehow have the same character.
Yes...i know....the old Garima ( Vohra) was certainly better..the emotional scenes..esp after Payal's marriage break down, she was really great...and what she had to portray...mixed feelings for K was done brilliantly...also when her husband was unwell and she was facing it all alone...so many scenes beautifully done by the old garima.
ReplyDeleteThis serial has indeed traversed an arduous path....imagine we are talking of people whose love we swear by...and the funny part the two idiots still don't know....
Rekha,
DeleteI like the actress who played the earlier garima. A very powerful actres. Have seen her in other serials in the past.
SN: I really didnt like ASR's shirt or belt:-( really disappointing... What's the use of putting him in tommy hilfiger boxer shorts and some strange brown shirt with weird stitching on the front. I don't actually like tommy hilfiger much but just as a note the guy delivering the food was in a white TH shirt and one of Arnav's ties :-s lol it Should have been the other way around plus HH looks so good in white shirts.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about the weird stitching in front too.. and in the back under the collar was another color altogether.. is it supposed to be a "Designer" shirt?
DeleteYaar, you both disappoint me! *rofl* I liked the shirt - one of my shiddats has been to see Bitwa in open-necked shirts, minus waistcoat ... am so glad to see that happening! My only problem was with the shirt color - dark brown :( ... A white shirt with that stitching would look nice, believe me! Thoda designer types lag raha tha!
DeleteDia, the shirt is sure to make an appearance in seven colors.. just wait and see! (head desk)
DeleteHehehe...chalo at least someone liked his outfit:-)...
DeleteI think the moment you put him in a brown shirt with exactly same shade brown pants I feel like chucking something at the stylist.
SN within SN is it the weekend in IPK land? cuz neither ODB nor ODG are at work? if it is the weekend can we also see Arnav in casuals this week:-D (SHIDDAT ALERT)
Liked? Dunno about that - I noticed it ... which is big for me ... I NEVER notice clothes!!!
DeleteYep, brown shirt and brown pants *head desk*
We got casuals, baba ... Arnie in his white full sleeved T shirt to sleep in *more head desk* ... and zipped up black track suit, which he unzipped to reveal white banyan *still more head desk* ... you want more?!!! *rofl*
I forgot ... we got TOWEL ... can't get more casual than that !!! *rofl*
DIa, youre hilarious! now will they get the same style white shirt with white pants a la jeetendra? ROFL
Deletehahaha...yep I want jeans again!! ;-)...
Deleteokay I think I'm getting too demanding...:-p...but I like that they're showing him in different stuff...though they can cool it with the shirtless scenes...poor Barun is stripping down in so many episodes...lol
No but wait! is it the weekend? I'm not sure? frankly I'm more concerned about Khushi's dabba service and tutions...baki ke liye Aman hai:-)
gargss,
Deletetu mahaan hai. The moment I realized it was brown on brown, I stopped paying attention to the clothes and stuck to his face - maybe they wanted to maki him look yummy chocolatey for the phangirls ;)
and weekend, aman - hullo - logic kyun dhoondh rahi hai :P
Dabba service - sourtesy shuklaji. tuition - well summer vacations or maybe stopped as khushi now feels no need to avoid him but actually rile him up with all the PDA overdose.
And I agree can we get a rest on the stripping and shirtless scenes for a while please.
ok did it again - lost the post :(
ReplyDeleteladies,
definitely a better episode - better than what we have been getting over the past few weeks!!
- i thing we all are in agreement that the lunch scene was well done - must say ODB was bang on here - he really acted very well - his embarrassment at having had the bill paid by the Gupta ladies - his being embarrassed at knowing (or thinking that he knew) what everyone would like to have - his consciousness - well portrayed!
- loved that ODB was so much readier (read faster) to respond to the gupta ladies when they fussed over him - he seemed so more at ease and less reserved today - as if he had lost some of his stiffness- gotten a bit more friendlier with the family and was hence more open and quicker to respond to them and reassure them that he was ok (earlier he was unprepared to handle the attention that they had showered on him that he did nothing but stare at them - he was a lot more gracious today!)
- seems like one of my shiddats may be granted - ODB was def. worried that the Gupta ladies paid - am sure there will be some ref to the bill later on and ODB will find out that they need help - will he then provide a fixed income and say that he got the pension problem fixed? something on those lines???
- found the 'this is such a Khushi thing to do - the perfect way to bug me!' kind of statement he made when he saw his car! jumping to the most obvious conclusion (from his pov!) - have a feeling that Happyji must have taken the car apart to service it (or the other option is that the stingy PH wants to get a new car so this is how they are getting rid of the old one - but considering that the PH cant even afford decent clothes for their leads - chances of a new car are about as high as Khushi falling in love with RRR!)
- precap - def. very interesting - and i agree ODB will not say more in front of everyone and Garima will ask ODG to back off - we could then potentially get the scene where either she comes to apologize under the stars or they open up to each other talking about their deceased parents
- ladies - is the chai under the stars thing a shiddat or something you heard on SBS/IF type of place?
@Mona: Buaji mentioned that part of the cash payment came from her husband's pension saving - I guess that means the pension issue is resolved.
DeleteEnjoyed the epi today and it does seem that ODB is finally getting used to his middle class in-laws. My only gripe is that their dialogue writer keeps traversing between Lucknow and Punjab..........do wish he would remember the Lucknowi zubaan and tehzeeb..............Also, second all the shiddats mentioned above ... :)
Aki
@Mona, the chai thing is a shiddat ... and a much longed for one :))) Want a night scene with ArHi about their mothers.
DeleteAs for new car - forget it!!! With this stingy PH, no way! :( I don't get it, this show is doing well, doesn't it have enough sponsors for them to get decent wardrobes for their leads, instead of the uniforms in different colors they make them all wear?! *head desk* I loved Suhana's outfits in SGP - all were different, she wore a mix of suits and saris, very trendy and pretty ... why can't Khushi get something like that? Even if she's poor, and her hubby doesn't buy her clothes, she doesn't need to wear the same suits in different colors all the time!
@Aki, Shyam was supposed to sort out Buaji's pension, right? But I don't think he actually did anything about it. Maybe it got resolved on its own.
I dont think sham touched buaji's pension issue at all.. he just talked abouot it.. so in typical government fashion, it took its sweet time.. at least it works now... or was that a blooper?
Delete@Dia...I was wondering about this before also...the show is doing really well now but does that mean the production house gets more money? or do they stick to their initial contract?...
DeleteI know that serials abroad have the same contract all through one season and then in May all the negotiations for the the producers and actors are done and then they start with their next season.
Since most Indian shows don't last that long do they have quarterly negotiations or does the network just make them stick to the same contract throughout?
Dia / Gargi,
DeleteI understood it as whatever was leftover from the pension amount Buaji had received thus far. Issue I think is still not sorted.
The public bathing wasn't as bad as I imagined it to be. Couldn't help but draw the parallel to what happened to her when Arnav forced her into this temporary marriage without giving her a clue about why he was doing so, much like how he was blindly led by Khushi who promised to take him near the water but did not let him know where was the water was. Khushi suffered humiliation in front of her family and his, her morals and principles virtually stripped because of their clandestine act of getting 'married' secretly. Arnav underwent a similar treatment yesterday when he felt stripped in front of her neighbours. But one has to admit that although it was a huge comedown for the great ASR to be caught semi-nude in public, at least he did not get ridiculed by Khushi's neighbours, unlike Khushi who had to face the verbal backlash and was shunned by both their families. Khushi is trying to force Arnav to enlighten her about his motive for this hasty marriage by pushing his buttons. I guess the guy will break soon and let out the reason, only she may misunderstand it and presume he was referring to her hiding the fact that Shyam was her ex-fiance, a truth Arnav is still unaware of.
ReplyDeleteI really felt bad for the G ladies when they literally scrounged for every penny they had to pay for the costly meal that their damaad ordered. Hope Arnav leaves behind the money without their knowledge when Arshi leaves the house. Otherwise it is going to be touch for them to get by the month. I liked the fact the Khushi is still supporting her maayka. Wish Arnav comes to know this at some point and appreciates it. I simply loved Khushi's expressions when she realised that Arnav ordered food for all, keeping in mind their individual preferences (as he perceived them to be). Her anger at his highhandedness of ordering food from outside just dissipated into thin air but alas all that good feeling was to last for just a few moments.
Arnav accusing Khushi of stealing the missing parts of his car can again be likened to their current situation. On the basis of one incomplete terrace scene Arnav has jumped to the conclusion that Khushi was all set to break his sister's marriage, much like how he readily believed that Khushi could stoop to stealing based on her earlier pranks. Trust works both ways. when the truth finally comes out and Arnav repents, it may be Khushi who will then have problem trusting Arnav as he himself has gone out of his way to show her that she should not believe what she sees.
Sandy, I read your reply to my post on Na bole Tum. I did not know that Maan Singh was the director of the show. Yes, he was director of Geet for some months. In fact the hero of the show was named after him. During the tenure that he directed the show, Maaneet were just magical. The guy does know how to tap on human emotions and bring out the best in the couple. He is doing it again in NBT. A good director can make a huge difference to the show but the story and the script too needs to be gripping for the magic to continue to work. NBT excels on all counts.
Dia, you should try to catch this show. It is so wholesome and heartwarming, a love story interwoven with a social message and some clean comedy. I simply love the chemistry between the heor and the heroine's daughter. The child artiste who plays her is is simply superb. You'll find all the past episode in the youtube account 'colorstv'. The summary of the story so far is here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Na_Bole_Tum..._Na_Maine_Kuch_Kaha
Opti
Yes, Opti, I too have been seeing a lot of parallels between Khushi's welcome (or lack of it) after their wedding, and Arnav's welcome at his sasural. And his welcome here is also due only to Khushi's efforts to make up with her family ... so I tend to gloss over her irritating pranks - she's doing them for a reason, and it seems to be the only way he will break and tell her the truth, at least partially.
DeleteAnd again, the car scene - true, Arnav still has not recognized the real Khushi, or if he has, only partially. He does believe that if she stole the car parts, it was only to irritate him, nothing else - I guess that's progress in a way.
So to draw parallels - which you're much better at than me ;) ... will he understand eventually, that if she did hide the truth about Shyam, it was with a good intention? When he learns the complete truth, that is ...
I haven't tried NBT yet ... after all your praise, I need to try it.
I did watch an episode of PSH, and fell in love with Varun Badola all over again ... if you want to see a guy smirk, watch him! He's got it down to a T ... the quiet, laughing at Sulgi without showing it to anyone else ...
Also the confrontation between him and the other Thakur ... again, the scene was fabulous, the quicksilver switching between barely hidden anger, disgust and smooth sarcasm - all in the eyes and the quietly worded dialogues ... the guy is superb!
But khushi's welcome was immediately after the shocking wedding.. ASR's welcome was after 3 months, when everybody have accepted the wedding. If the situation was reversed, I cannot say the same would have happened.
DeleteHey Opti read your wiki link...Thanks!!
DeleteThe story sounds really good..I'm definitely going to give it a watch...IPK isn't what it used to be...I havent quite reached Madsie's stage of complete resignation but I'm getting there...today's episode was good though, so lets see.
However, in the meantime I'm going to give this a shot..the lead guy looks familiar...maybe an advertisement..?
Opti,
DeleteI saw an interview of MS on Rangmunch. NBT is tempting me like anything. Also that song is one of my all time favs. I have a time crunch else i would have started seeing that too. Even now, kabhi kabhi I see it if it happens to play when I am surfing channels.
Like u said, the final potrayal strikes a chord. Chwanni and Piddhi are such aww nicknams for those kids plus there is the MM / CM guy from 3 idiots too. Ok before Dia thwacks me for making this all NBT I better zip it :)
Gargi,
One more trivia, the male lead in NBT is SGP ke Ishaan ka real life brother!
Jaya,
Valid point on timing bit of the welcome. But they would still have albeit grudginly accomodated him as the damaad - maybe to a lessser extent. just like Buaji let Shyam into the house when they came with shagun just the day after she caught him stalking.
So, ASR went to sasuraal. first he was trying his best to ignore his way through the whole painful experience, but found that his usual avoidance strategies don't work here.
ReplyDeleteHe cannot call for help, he cannot make someone else do the work, his "get it done" philosophy does not work in the face of gupta ladies.. he feels a bit of guilt when he notices that the ladies are honestly trying to please him.. even accepting embarassment in the wake of his actions..
he bought AC.. they said nothing.. he bought his own toiletries.. they said "whatever makes you comfortable" .. his AC tripped the power.. they said damaadji and the whole mohalla accepted... he bought food.. they paid for it..
now these are the actions of a typical rich damaadji. and these are the reactions of a typical poor maika.. but then, ASR does not know anyone who treats him like that. their wholehearted acceptance and love is something he did not expect. just like anjali said, when HE feels that you love him, Chote comes out.. and we see exactly that.. his reaction to the parcel food was absolutely on point..(kudos Barun) his awkwardness, his scrambling.. even his speech pattern changes when he is with them. we get arrey and nononono.. would ASR say that to anyone ? nahiii.
Now Khushi is another kettle of fish altogether. He knows her.. he knows that she will trick him. He expects that.. and arnav treats her as his playmate most of the time. (hey, I am going with dual personality here.. we all know this happens) the car scene today showcased it perfectly.. he is not cool collected ASR now, he is arnav, bickering with her.. that petulant line "you can bathe me in public, but I can't shout?" (said in a shout...awww)
underscores the fact that ASR is nowhere to be seen in this shouting boy. and the waiting by the car till she gets his spare parts back (awww) ... BTW i think it was her who removed it all.. the background score was the KKG prank music.
SN did you see the courier boy/stylish glasses guy walking around in the car scene? I was so LOL to see him there.
SN2 in the opening scene, bitwa's showergel spilled.. can't he use the rest? why are they showcasing lifebuoy? (they dont sponsor the show, right? )
and did you see his O expression when he saw the showergel on the floor? totally OTT , and perfectly KKG expression.. why barun?
Just read your edit, Dia, and as always, Fantastic!
Deleteespecially that bit about arnav accepting the public bath.. yes, he did.. in the end. but his shyness was brilliant! makes me rather sure that ASR has not bathed in public before :D
and khushi's expression at the food he selected for her.. yes.. such a sweet moment.
in all, a good episode.
Loved the edit:-)....
DeleteDia you reminded me of another scene I liked...
Khushi pretending to be indignant 'first off I helped you out and on top of that you're getting annoyed with me! Hmph.'
Bitwas sulking but not having anything much to say except 'don't talk to me Khushi!'
Khushi petulantly replying 'who said I was talking to you anyway?'
*ROFL*
An article from Telly Buzz : Is it time for MU to clear
ReplyDeletehttp://www.india-forums.com/tellybuzz/buzzin-hot/11641-is-it-time-for-misunderstanding-to-clear.htm
Thanks Aaru!
DeleteThat clears up quite a few things...
1. Definitely no ME this weekend...
2. If a promo has been shot it'll 95% happen, so we can look forward to the MU getting partially cleared. If nothing else at least she'll have an inkling what this whole thing is about. Some real progress.
3. To me it appeared that even SI is fed up of stagnatingtrack and wants MU to clear up and story to progress.
Yes Gargi I felt same, that SI is tired of this MU thing stretched. And she also says "time the Misunderstanding starts clearing." So may be the part truth is out. Fingers crossed will be seeing the serious heartbroken Khushi who will recoil? Or we are for more OTT comedy as her reaction??
DeleteThank God! So Sanaya also confirmed that the promo has been shot, which means it should air by tomorrow. And if the promo has been shot, and she is leaving for the UK, then hopefully they won't drag the scenes till she returns, that will be too much! Which means by Friday we should get the scene of Arnav finally snapping and telling Khushi about Shyam, and he goes back to RM.
Delete30th April/1st May is Monday/Tuesday ... Khushi's reactions will be shot this week - my guess is some solo break down scenes, which she will finish before she leaves, and will air next Monday/Tuesday. By Thursday she should be back, given the time difference, losing time on the way back etc., so they may spread her scenes over Mon-Wed, and she restarts shooting Thursday, Khushi will go back to RM by Friday.
By which time Shyam may have done some damage and all hell will break loose over the missing file, or the open locker ... unless of course, his plans fail again a la scorpion.
Please CV's, see the light - an OTT comic Khushi spells doom for TRP's, IPL or no IPL ... there is no way Khushi can be comic or light-hearted once she knows that Arnav knows about Shyam.
Aaru,
DeleteThanks for the article. The last time they posted an article on the track was just before the ArHi wedding which was a big dhamaak - so fingers crossed ki this new promo will mean something. It also promoses to be the first meanignful promo after the MU promo. Lets see
Dia loved ur edited post.....as always.....
ReplyDeletein that scene "don't talk to me scene" that Gargi described...just watch Arnav going all *hmpf* that she says" Who said i am talking to u"? This guy just doesn't know what he wants...bas wants to have the last word...
Hey, I don't get zee here, will have to watch online....i don't enjoy that at all...but for Badolo....may just do that.....abhi toh Arhi fixation hain...inko paar laga de phir kuch soche.....
The bloopers that I find, even when i don't go looking for them..
ReplyDelete1. bitwa had a beard in the exercise scene. lost it in the bath scene. regained it for breakfast!'
2. the thieves who took everything from his car.. even the seats.. did not take the spare tyre!
3.Rs5070 for 5 plates of pasta? 5 star indeed.
AND ... the bill had RESTAURANT printed on top - no name! Kaisa restaurant hai, bhai?!
DeleteAnd the last item on the menu was Stir Fried Vegetables - who got that one? Did Arnav eat all the rest of the stuff? And since when are stir fried veggies part of Italian cuisine?
CV's ... we have hawk eyes here *rofl*
Jaya - good catch, I didn't notice the spare tyre :) Wheels and steering wheel I can imagine Happyji taking off for security purposes, the missing seats have me flummoxed :) Apparently the police do come in ... so is it really a theft? Khushi is not responsible, I'm sure of that.
Hola Amigos!
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely thought exchanges and beautiful shiddat scenes.
Nice :)
Sending muahs to Dia, Gargi, Shwetha, Rekha, Jaya, Aaru, Mona, Aki and all others who have commented above"
Shweths u compared Arnav's relationships to RM and GH and K to the English language and grammar - Wow! So playing the Q game - r u a english major? or just a eng language lover?
I have been thinking of:
1. "Humaari baat chodiye Mr.Raizada, aapka bank balance toh bahut bada hai na, phir aap khush kyun nahi hain?" (bijli aa gayi & chote ko akele khaane ki aadat hai)
2. "Sasta ho ya mehenga, humein jo chahiye, woh humaare mangetar ke paas bahut hai (somthing on these lines)" (maine aap sab ke liye bhi khaana mangwaaya hai)
3. "Ise aise khaati hain", "Aapko khaana achcha laga?" (did it not remind u of aap theek hain?)(and finally loving someone is about loving them as they are. But if in thier love for you, they change, there is no higher compliment they can ever pay you - we are going to get there)(plus that open mouthed Khushish expression on spilled shower gel and the don't talk to me just like a sulky kid)
4. "Oh toh tum mujhe public main nehla sakti ho, par main tumpe sab ke saamne nahi chilla sakta?" (did it not remind u of sabke saamne Tamaasha mat karo Khushi from the temple?)
5. "Damaadji toh aap duplicate chaabi banwaa rahe the" (On NYE, Di aap theek hain, mujhe mamaji ne abhi bataaya ki pool main taar choot gaya tha)
6. "Damaadji kaunse khajaane ki chaabi banwaa rahe hain?" "Humaari harkatein ajeeb hon toh kya faaydemand jaroor hoti hain" (Hmm - kya khulega isse?)(Historically famous mamas - Krishna, Shakuni. It is only the maternal uncle who is honoured with mama - almost like ma(squared))
7. Arnav goes to grab Khushi's chin, pauses and then grabs it a little less roughly than he would have initially and turns her face to show her the exact problem. (Arnav has assumed but at least he points her in the right direction and asks)
8. "Theek hai toh phir yaheen khade rahiye jab tak aapke purje kharaab nahi ho jaate" (Khushi says call cops and Arnav has; will there be a mention of Anji's accident and some new facts found in that case?)
9. "Aap unhe amma kyun nahi bulate?" (he calls buaji and babuji by the way they are related to Khushi. He has no issues accepting them. But calling someone else his mother is not something he is willing to do as yet. But Khushi asking him to call her mother Amma - is it easy to willingly share your mother with someone? Why does the elder sibling feel jealous when the younger child is born?
reminded me of sapnon ki duniya se baaahar niklo khushi, and in the real world his mother has been snatched away from him.
Song from the Blog DJ for the present circumstances and where they seem to be leading to"
"Dharti sunehri ambar neela, har mausam rangeela,Aisa des hai mera"
"Tere des ko main dekha, tere des to maine jaana,
Jaane kyun yeh lagta hai, mujhko jaana pehchaana,
Yahaan bhi wahi shaam hai, wahi saweraa,
Aisa hi des hai mera, jaisa des hai tera ..."
(Des = their families i am thinking)
Oh and one more that I missed to add. When a relationship is formed, it is not just about adhjusting to the the other's way of life but showing them the way you live to. So what is GH has never Italian food, does not inhibit Arnav from ordering some and letting them experience something that is common to him :)
DeleteYou not only learn from others but also raise other to match your way / standard of living by empowering them about your way of life.
Blog DJ!! I like!!...so apt Sandy:-)
DeleteI loved points 3 and 7...

Gargs,
DeleteShweths coined the terms just like BOTB for u :)
Like ur future song dedication below. Yep waise bhi ek waqt aayega.
Sandy, BDJ :)
DeleteLoved all the lines you quoted ...
Aapko khaana achha laga ... and when Buaji asks him, cooler ki hava aa rahi hai, today he replied promptly, yes, buaji, I'm fine ... in one day, Bitwa has learned a few lessons already ... the love, warmth and unconditional acceptance of the Guptas and their middle class neighbors already having a big effect ... now he appreciates their feelings and is learning to reciprocate.
The first day I was annoyed how ungracious he was when the G ladies were fussing around him with the cooler and the khana, serving him first ... today he sits to eat with everyone, is quick to confirm that yes, the cooler is fine, I'm fine, and makes sure everyone gets the food he got for them before he starts his own food.
As you pointed out - such a change for the guy who his Nani says ... 'Chote ko akele khaane ki aadat hai'. Here the entire family waits for him to eat ... no wonder the guy reciprocates. Very beautifully done ...
And comes back to Khushi's words to him that you also quoted ... aapke paas toh bank balance hai, phir bhi aap khushi kyun nahin lagte?
Oh and he called Babuji Uncle at the table, when he gave his soup. So Buaji he has no problem with, it's the parent figures he has an issue with. I REALLY hope that comes out in the next couple of episodes ...
But why is Khushi again and again asking him to call Garima Amma? Is it just to irritate? Maybe initially ... but am waiting for the scene tonight.
And the song is so apt ... nice!!! :)))
@Sandy... heard this song on the radio yesterday and couldnt help think of Arhi...
ReplyDeleteKind of the state they'll be in once they both know the whole truth and Khushi is unbelievably hurt and Arnav unbelievably guilt ridden...
From the movie Chalte Chalte (title reminds me a little of their 3 'walks')
"
Pyaar Hum Ko Bhi Hai
Pyaar Tum Ko Bhi Hai
To Yeh Kya Silsile Ho Gaye
Bewafa Hum Nahin
Bewafa Tum Nahin
To Kyon Itne Gile Ho Gaye
Chalte Chalte Kaise Yeh Faasle Ho Gaye
Kya Pata Kahan Hum Chale
Pyaar Hum Ko Bhi Hai
Pyaar Tum Ko Bhi Hai
To Yeh Kya Silsile Ho Gaye
Bewafa Hum Nahin
Bewafa Tum Nahin
To Kyon Itne Gile Ho Gaye
Chalte Chalte Kaise Yeh Faasle Ho Gaye
Kya Pata Kahan Hum Chale...
"
Gargs, this one is really apt! I think it should really be used at some point ... it fits so beautifully ... a married couple torn apart by MU ... just right for ArHi!
