1/8 - Epi 310 ... Wedding 360

Wednesday 1st August

Saw the episode in the middle of watching the Christmas special of Downton Abbey ... even so, it was gripping, especially the last part.

Anjali finds out about Khushi and Arnav lying to her about Buaji's health ... her reaction? tears and a 'Chotey, ab tum hamare nahin rahe ...'
Grow up woman, and smell the coffee ... yes, Chotey ab tumhare nahin rahe ... he has a wife now ... and if you make both of them feel guilty about spending time with each other, this is what you will get ... they won't stop, they'll just hide it from you.

And Arnav finally corners Khushi about the truth they have both been skirting around ... the contract marriage ... and he asks her how she will tell her parents ... umm, did you not wonder about that when you were setting the terms six months ago?
So there is no written contract ... there would have to be a divorce, which obviously there isn't going to be ...
Loved the last scene ... the confrontation between Arnav and Khushi ...

*edited* ... edited the title :)

Thoughts: Six months back, a young girl was madly in love with an angry young man. Despite repeated hurts, despite repeated insults, despite herself, she felt that feeling within grow again and again. Time and again he bruised her heart, trampled on it, walked all over her, but the feelings that he had awoken in her never managed to die out completely. After every hurt, every heartbreak, she would retreat quietly to lick her wounds, vow to never let him get close enough to hurt her again ... only to melt and forgive him the next time he showed her any softness, any sign of love ...

It didn't seem to matter that she was engaged, unwillingly on her part, to another man, ... it didn't seem to matter that he was almost engaged to another girl ... He was rude, brusque, hurtful, insulting for the most part ... but time and again, when she needed help, support, he was somehow always there for her ... and despite her trying to suppress her own feelings, they grew.
Till things finally seemed to be going the right way ... her engagement broke, so did his ... they were both free to act on that strange pull between them, a pull between two individuals so unlike each other on the surface, yet so completely alike from within. And he seemed to be transforming from Shaitaan to Rajkumar ... the prince of her dreams ... he softened, his attitude became gentler, he bought her bangles, he showed his love, his concern ... her dreams seemed to be coming true ... and she was floating in heaven ... dreaming of her own wedding to her own rajkumar ...
And when he said he wanted to speak to her, it seemed those dreams were actually coming true. At last she would have someone of her own, someone she really and truly belonged to. And for an orphan, that was her biggest dream come true ... no longer dependent on the kindness and benevolence of an adopted family, but a place of her own, a place she finally belonged ...

And then those dreams shattered ... cruelly ... instead of the dream wedding to her prince, a forced shameful marriage in the dead of night with no one to witness it ... instead of vows for a lifetime, a contract for six months ... instead of a person she belonged to, a man who gave her the symbols of wifehood - sindoor and mangal sutra ... but promised he would not acknowledge her as his wife or give her any of the rights of a wife ...
She tried to ask him why ... she asked for the reason ... in one stroke, he had orphaned her again ... broken her off not only from her adopted family, who had given her love and a place in their home, but also from his own family, who had given her so much love and respect ... she stood disgraced in front of both, left to face their questions ... and she didn't have any answers. He never gave her any.

Six months down, much water had flowed ... slowly painstakingly, she won back the love and trust of both her family and his ... and even more, she seemed to be getting her prince back again. The Beast gone, the Prince emerging ... again her shattered heart mended and dared to dream ...
And shattered again ... when the truth of their marriage emerged ...
She was at fault as much as he was ... she had hidden a truth from him ... with the best of intentions, maybe, but that fault was hers ... and she acknowledged his right to be angry ... she understood it. If she had entered the marriage contract to save her sister's marriage, he had proposed it to save his sister's marriage ... and she bore him no grudge for that ...
But he did. She understood his reasons ... he didn't want to understand hers. He didn't trust her ... and in her desperation, she made yet another mistake ... which led to consequences she had never dreamed of ... he was in danger of his life ... all because of her.
She was horrified at the magnitude of her mistake ... she vowed to Devi Maiyya that she would bring him back ... after that she wanted nothing more. Only his life, his safety. And she managed to win both ... he was back home safe ... and even more, he finally believed her, trusted her ... and showed his faith in front of the entire family. She finally belonged ... she had finally found a home. Her dreams were once again coming true ... this time, for always ... because she was married ... and he accepted her as his wife.

And then he shattered her world again ... he wished he had never met her, because she had brought his Di unhappiness ... he wished she had never entered his world ... because Di was unhappy because of her.
The straw that broke the camel's back? Not quite ...
Heartbreak again ... it was too good to be true ... her dream world lasted for less than twenty four hours ... but she still loved him ... and she didn't want to be the cause of his unhappiness. An orphan, she knew better than anyone how precious blood ties were , because she didn't have any herself ... she didn't want his most precious one to be strained ...
She would leave. She was the cause of unhappiness in the house, of tension between him and the woman most important to him ... if she left, the tension would leave with her.
But he wouldn't let her leave ... because she hadn't fulfilled her contract yet.
Finally the straw that broke the camel's back ... after all they had been through, all that was between them ...he could still call this a contract?
Because that's what it is. 'Main nahin maanta ... jo hai, hai.'

A contract ... that was all it was to him ... then she would stay, fulfill her end ... and leave. No more heartbreak ... she couldn't take any more.

But her guard was well and truly up now ... she knew better than to trust him again. Even though he seemed happy she acknowledged him as her husband, he forced her to celebrate her birthday, he forced his choice of gift on her and expected, no, wanted her to be happy ... he even scared her into losing a challenge ... and then wanted to claim his prize ... even though she did know that he loved her ... in his own way ...
But that didn't change one little thing ... she was still the cause of his Di's unhappiness ... and Di felt the same way. To the extent that now she was the cause of tension between brother and sister ... he came back from a cancelled meeting and stayed with her instead of going to join Di, Di accused him of lying to her, for Khushi's sake ... and he, of course, was so upset at that, that he immediately went rushing after Di to straighten things out.
Rushing after Di, because Di was upset ... and Di was and always would be the most important person in his life. And if she stayed, there would be more tension between him and Di ... and more heartbreak for her. Because the truth was, she still didn't belong. Not really. She was in a contract marriage ... and her time was running out. And he still hasn't told her otherwise! X(

So why stay till the end? Why create more tension in the house? Why not remove herself ... she was the cause of it all, wasn't she? And she was expendable ... nobody really needed her. Not even her husband ... for him, it was all about winning or losing ... he was Arnav Singh Raizada, and the world moved according to his terms ... his terms at the moment were that she fulfill her contract ...

Today he asked her ... how can you do this so easily? How can you forget everything? Is this all it means to you?
The same question she had asked barely five days ago. And his answer was ... 'it's a contract.' Today she gave him the same answer.
It hurts, doesn't it, Mr Arnav Singh Raizada? To have your love thrown back in your face?

The episode:
The first half of the episode didn't indicate how power-packed the second half was going to be.
Arnav Singh Raizada, back to doing what he does best ... browbeat, blackmail, threaten, use his power, money, influence ... and of course Khushi knows her husband very well ... and is equally stubborn ... she'll manage, thank you very much.
He does know how to push her buttons, though ... one mention of her parents and she's on shaky ground ...

More dirty tricks ... Arnav is pulling out all the stops here to get Khushi back home ... spill water, lock her out ... even seduce her, to show her why he wants her back ...
Neckwa ve :"> Arnav knows all Khushi's weak points ... including her susceptibility to him ... and he answers her question as to why he wants her back ... 'you know why ...'
Yes, she does ... she knows he loves her ... but his definition of love is different from hers ... his love is wanting, possessive ... hers is sacrifice ... his love wants her by his side always, her love wants a smile on everyone's faces, not just her own ... his love means giving her a place equivalent to his Di, the most important person in his life ... but will Di be happy with that position?
And he's angry again ... he wants her home now and she's not listening .. so he tries to threaten her family again ... even though he can't face her when he makes that threat ... and he's defeated, because she's not giving in this time ... or is she?

She didn't bargain for his pursuit, or how determined he would be ... why is he not getting the reality? So defeated at last, her last ploy to buy some time ... she knows he will not throw her family out ... but he will drag her back somehow ... and she can't face that heartbreak again ...
So she pretends to give in to his blackmail ... and he reiterates ... he is Arnav Singh Raizada and he is always right ... he will take her back home before the contract ends ...
She knows that ... but she is equally stubborn ... she will not return till the contract is over ...
Unspoken ... If he wants her back after the contract is over, then and only then she will return ...

Arnav returns to pick up Khushi, confident of his victory ... but one more stalling tactic ... a broken leg.
(He didn't know BBG were out? So he was ready to put them through the discomfort of no water/ power, just to blackmail Khushi? He just lost some moral high ground here)
And Arnav sees through this one very quickly, because he knows Khushi very well by now ... she can't lie while looking into his eyes ... and he knows it's all a pack of lies ... doctor has advised rest for ...
'ten days. the remaining duation of the contract.'
And finally it's out in the open ... the point they have both been skirting around, dancing around ...
'You're doing this because of the contract, aren't you?'
And she's shocked, dismayed ... he's found out her excuse ... that she was using the contract as an excuse ...
'You want to stay here for ten days, so that you get free of our marriage ...?'
And she stares at him even more shocked ... free? Is that what he thinks? That she wants to be free? Doesn't he know how much she loves him, how much she wanted, prayed for this marriage to be a real one?
'Khushi, will you allow this to happen? Will you let our marriage end like this?'
'What marriage? This wasn't a marriage, it was a deception ... it was a deal ... with terms and conditions ... I followed those terms and conditions ... and now in ten days, it's over. The deal, the terms ... everything ...'
They deceived both their families, this wasn't a real marriage ever ... not with threats hanging over her head all the time ... fear that the truth would come out and the hurt it would cause ...
But he still doesn't understand ...
'Everything? Is it so easy for you?
Easy for her? Doesn't he know how hard this is for her? Doesn't he understand she's doing this for him and him alone ...? Doesn't he know she loves him and would give everything to be with him? But she can't ... Because tomorrow he will be hurt ...
'All this doesn't matter now ...'
'Doesn't matter?'
'You know why I'm doing this ... you know it all ... so let's not talk about it ...'
She told him she's leaving to get out of the way between him and Di ... he knows the real reason, and by her coming back, it's not going to solve anything ...
She takes off the plaster ... end to all lies, let the truth come out now between them ...
And he's furious ... why is she not giving them a chance, when he loves her so much? So back to threats ...
'We should tell everyone the truth. Let's stop playing games ...let's tell everyone the truth ... this was a contract marriage, we can get a divorce right now ...'
Is he ready to tell the whole truth? That not only Khushi, but he too knew about Shyam's truth for so long and hid it from the family? That he forced her into marriage?

She's shocked, dismayed ... no, he can't ... not yet ... it will break her family ...
But he's relentless, determined, he's had enough of playing games ... if she wants it to end, then the truth has to come out, doesn't it? Or will she sugarcoat it with more lies, to spare their feelings? Enough lies, let's now tell the truth ... now, no lies with anyone at all ...
And she's finally defeated ...
'What do you want?'
Simple ... 'come home with me ...'
'All right ... I'll come home with you. But after ten days, when this deal ...'
He interrupts again ...'I don't care about ten days later.'
*head desk* still no talk about marriage for a lifetime!!! Instead, an obviously dubbed 'right now, there's no one at home, you stay here tonight, I'll pick you up tomorrow morning.

Anjali discovers that Khushi and Arnav lied to her, one by commission, the other by omission ... and her hurt starts again ... why are they doing this? Maybe she needs to look at her own behaviour with them to get the answer to that one.

Anji actually worrying abt the fact that khushi lied to her?! :S didn't understand that bit.. either CVs don't know how to go ahead with anji or DB cannot portray that so effectively! :S

What was she thinking, exactly what excuse would she have made??

Now this blackmail is a true blackmail. Lets speak the whole truth .... Anything to get the lady home. 10 din baadh kya hoga tab dekenge.

I will to obliviate yesterdays office scene. Yes try!

2. Sama i guess khushi can ask that question as to hiw he found easy to blame her??? He will hurt with in and feel guilty about and might even again profusely apologise but the two things are not the same. Although he made a huge mistake by shouting at her and blaming her it was between them and will remain between them. But if khushi stays back at GH forget the firing squard they will face but khushi's foster parents and buaji will not be able to take the shock of contract marriage don't you think??? So although khushi can and should ask him that question but she can't just carrying staying at GH without letting out the truth of her marriage and if she lets out the truth will her folks be able to take it???

As cruel as it sounds in a way she does not have a choice but to go back to RM and Arnav is aware of what might happen if the contract becomes a public knowledge. Both the families could live with forced marriage now that they have their love for each other but can any family live with the knowledge of contract marriage especially in her kind of world where marriages are sacred... I guess that is the whole reason why ASR is ruthlessly pressing her to go back to RM with him...

3. IS the show ending, it keeps saying Arjun from 11th august at 8pm. And then this contract ends in 10days so exactly on 11th August!

4. Once I succeeded in getting past the my kohl is going to give you a tough run for your kajal/money, I could concentrate on the epi and take ASR somewhat seriously.

I looooooved the bg music they played today...THAT WAS and WILL ALWAYS BE....ASR & Khushi......Not the dumb RVs or the ear harming kyon dard hai.

They changed the track again as in the last, the original idea was for him to take her back asap.

Then they dubbed it as I Will take you in the morning.

So I am guessing, Anjali will confront him about khushi and him lying to her, the question is will it happen privately or in front of the whole family.

To defend Khushi will Arnav finally admit the real reason why Khushi left?

Will this whole convo at GH will be overheard by G family who returns in time.

So are we headed for a marriage track again or will there be an uproar, Arnav and Khushi will hauled up and this separation of sorts where both realize both are not exactly welcome in each other's home albeit temporarily be the much needed separation and sanity cum break these two desperately need?

Anjali aka DB fails to invoke any sympathy from me for her stubborn refusal to wear a baby bump, makes you wonder what would DB have done if she was the lead of yeh rishta kya kehlata hai, where they had a full fledge track of pregnancy and being a parent.

I liked the epi today..Barun still needs to get back that look of the older ASR and that includes the haircut...although the Gel cum spray water is doing a decent job, somehow I cudn't help but compare the diwali conversation on the same porch to the one we had today. Know what I mean.

Lastly:

Is it too much to ask if Khushi tells him:
Why should I come back, Why should I trust you again.
Why should I believe that things will be different this time around.

TWICE

You have broken my heart...I remember Diwali the good and the bad, Do you remember the run up to our siblings marriage, I remember the good and bad.

Everytime I have come closer to you, believing that you too loved me, I have been cruelly let down by you.

Please tell me, assure me, Why will this time be different?
Just once I want her to tell him that...That will explain to him and to the audience who are sympathizing more with ASR ON her hesitancy.

Sorry folks couldn't reply to anyone yesterday, hopefully will be able to do so tomorrow

*Hugs*

1. Shweths hope all is well at ur end. We seem to be seeing less of you here these days...

I don't think ASR will lie for khushi or anyone else. He might give half truths again, say only as much as necessary but lie he won't he never does. I guess it's time for more truths to stumble out of the closet. It necessary for Anji to know the trith of A and K wedding and what happened that night... It's equally important for the rest of the family(s) to know the truth as well and thats the only way to bring khushi back for good. It's the only way he can restore her honour by letting out the truth...
Jumping the gun here but still i am keeping my fingers crossed that he has done his research and found evidence to prove khushi's innocence to the rest of the family....

2. shwetha, HI!!! so good to see you here. and kohl..he wears everytime there is a serious scene. toughens up the puppydog face, i guess.

SHIDDAT for that dialogue.. at least at the end of ten days.. now that they have had one open conversation(shiddat granted, btw) i hope she can actually ask him that question face to face.

and i am rooting for a brother-sister convo in private, because her dialogue was "hamare chote ab hamare nahi reh gaya" means that (anji understands that) he is collaborating with khushi's lie, so they two are a unit.. he actually told TQ that he loves khushi.. and TQ saw them celebrating ODG's birthday privately.. and hence today's lie proves that chote is now khushi's. and i hope anjali will cover for chote's lie, but ask him privately about the reason for that lie.

we saw bua and nani hugging, they would have talked about her BP too.. hope we get a continuation of that scene tomorrow.

3. UJ,
ASR gives one the impression of a person who is going to take a hard knock soon...His self-confidence is inspiring but the poor thing does not know that little knowledge is dangerous...which is the situation ASR is in...

He is speaking sense..I won't find fault with his logic when he spoke to Khushi about quit playing games and face the truth but the one who will be actually facing the truth/mirror is gong to be HIM mainly....all pointers to that.....Khushi has been busy keeping him and all others from facing the hard reality but they will have to do it now

He is still far away from realising the reason why Khushi will not "apnao" this relationship...
Just as far a Khushi is from realising what she means to ASR in his life..
Add to that the Di jhamela....
Oh what a royal mess!!
But I am loving it!!

Do i smell a sadist here? No offence I hope... You are loving the situation our poor ODC are caught in???? I can't wait for ODC to let out the truth to the families ofc as much as they need to know and sort out the rest between them.
My heart went out to both of them today. Really what a royal mess!!! All because of insufficient communication skills.....
They keep repeating everything will be fine at the end of 10 days why do I get a feeling that we will have a heartfelt confession from ODB to ODG....
I really don't think ODB will let ODG walk away this time. He can't afford that, not just yet not before they have both confessed their love in words. She needs to know her position and importance in his life before he realises how much he has hurt her coz the day he understands the depth of hurt and pain he has given her will be the day he will never be able to forgive himself again. Only khushi can then bring him out of his self punishing mode and hence i think he will confess his feelings for her and tell exactly what she means to him before knowing anything more....

5. No UJ....not a hope in hell...not a sadist by a long shot....in fact am one of those who wants everything out and over-clarified so there is no MU....thats why i can make no creative contribution to any drama yaar....it was soemthing i said in jest.....
Its a royal mess..one that i am sucked into...i wasn't even refering to RTR ...just how all this so knoted....

7. No UJ....please don't say sorry...no offence was meant or taken

My biggest fear on this drama is only that it shouldn't reduce to the leads becoming victims of circumstances....bing MUed, being sacrificial lambs....
thats induces tears but it reduces the intensity of the love story for me...i want the leads to fight to be together....for isn't their love special to deserve a chance to breathe? I don't want it as a gift from a reformed Anji..as a sort of blessing from her...

but this is a purely personal view...i know that some of that sacrifice drama cannot be avoided...as so many here have explained to me...I am in the ride and i have realised i can't get off mid-stream....in it for as long as it lasts!!

5. Well Well, nothing resolved but progress made...Can we now expect some serious conversation from the two now..ab toh excuse bhi nahin hain...Arnav complete sentences bolne laga hain....

ASR still believes that he can win over Khushi in 10 days and so"10 din ke baad kya hoga use koi farak nahin"....can be read any which way ...
one way as meant by Arnav and one as assumed by Khushi....

What is not clear to me, soemone here please explain...

does Khushi still think that Arnav is asking her to come back for 10 days only or what? Is that what she is now thinking...

I was presuming in this entire track that she wants to go away from RM beocs of the Di issue and she was using the contract as a crutch(Thanks to R&Rites esp Su); she knows Arnav loves her but she appropriates 2nd position on hierarchy for herself.

Now when she hears Arnav say that "i don't care what happens after 10 days" is that her being upset at his remark that was displayed or soemthing else?...couldn't understand that....

Di scene playing out as expected.....

6. Shwetha: she did say exactly that to him the night he reminded that theirs was a contract marriage. Sad part is, he still does not realise that she remains hurt and unsure of her position in his life and household. With the way he responded to her, it seems like they stand on opposite sides again - he willing to gamble her staying on after 10 days, she expecting to leave at the end of 10 days.

This might play out like the birthday track where he realises what she wanted was far simpler than what he gave.

Question is: Do the CVs realise what they want to give the viewers?
Does DB realise what Anji's role is supposed to be? As a pregnant woman, especially a damaged one, the sense of betrayal should be uppermost or at least, there should be sharp glimpses of it seeping through ....or is this what she is plotting behind the scenes with hubby dearest?

7. Hello All,

Drama is back . Anji still unsure about her brother leading to the prospect of her siding with her husband . Finally the couple have an open chat about the contract though the vagueness prevails.

This time arHI are at fault. They have lied to the family regarding buaji's illness and hoping Arnie somehow clarifies this to his sister. Perfect ingredients for a MU and for Anji to question ArHi's decision to kick out her husband.

So for the past 3 days Arnie was trying to get Khsuhi back to RM ? Was that his goal ? the reason for her staying at GH is out. it is teh contract though i did not understand Khushi's reason for "why is it easy for her to let go after 10 days ".

"aap ko to sub sach pata hai ..."? Is it still about Di ? And why is Arnie insistant on come back to RM for 10 days after that i dont care...

also why do I see Arnie more devastated at the possibility of a breakup than Khushi. Why is Khsuhi more bothered about her family's reaction.

the last 10 minutes were good and looking forward to some questions being answered .

1. Ratna,

It is still about Di for Khushi. After ten days she feels it would be easy for him because she will no longer be his wife and he will not have to keep making the choice between his Di and her. Arnav said he does not care after 10 days because he is sure he will make it impossible for her to leave after that by making their marriage a life time commitment.

Khushi is bothered about her family's reaction because it is the same family which could not take a clandestine marriage. Imagine if they come to know that it was only a contract marriage. After all they are still just a middle class family which worries about what the society will think.

Beats me what reason Khushi would have given for her permanent return to GH after the 10 days. Maybe she would have taken the full blame on herself for the failure of their marriage. Her actions in their earlier GH stint suggests that.

8. when ASR married to Khushi he gave her the mangal suthra and sindoor saying these things mean so much to you, so here you are, as the marriage didn't mean anything to him. Then today when Khushi is saying it doesn't mean anything he looked so hurt. Firstly I am glad that he is now beginning to realise the importance of marriage, secondly I hope he feels even a fraction of what Khushi must have felt like at their wedding..
-lifted off someone else's post, but my sentiments exactly.

He was supposed to restore her fighting spirit back but all he ended up doing is rubbing her defeat in her face by claiming he is always right.

He threatened to reveal the truth of the six-month contract marriage to a family seeped in tradition, so much so that they proclaimed to disown the daughter who gave it her all for then just because she got married secretly when he has still not done so to his own family.

His attitude today reminded me of the scene in GH on New Year's eve when he lost a bet, accidentally tore her dress and later claimed that she has lost because she was attired like the one who lost the battle.

Why is Khushi always tongue tied when he makes such bombastic claims knowing he is in the wrong?

Arnav just keeps adding miles and miles to his RTRW. My heart went out to Khushi.

1. it was not ODB who decided that he wanted her smile back.. it was we R&R gals.. he did not plan to bring her fighting spirit back.. he just enjoyed it when she did.

he does not care how he gets her back.. what matters is that she is back at RM. by hook or crook. at least, he finally talked openly to her.. from the morning when he just blurted out what was in his mind about her sleeping style, to noon when he asked about the contract, he is really opening his heart to her.. that is new. he is honest and explaining his moves.. asking her all three ways from good to bad..

now opti, explain to me.. when arnav threatens khushi with the picture of her parents on the road, she looks at him all broken.. and he leaves her there. as he starts the car, she materialized in front of the moving car, and arnav just manages to brake on time. why was the scene shot that way? why did she not call after him and accept? is there a message in that scene?

3. Opti my heart went out to both of them today. As harsh as ot sounds but really what was she planning on telling her family about her being back at GH for good? Did bitwa really rub it in? I felt he practically asked her pushed her to think that yes in her haste to get away from RM she lied and left but that does not solve the problem... The lie will be caught out one way or the other then what? If she carries on staying at GH not only her family but the neighbours as well would ask why is she back at GH and not in her sasural? Did she really think this through?

That night bitwa made a decision in haste to marry her in a way he fid and now khushi has made a decision in haste to walk away.... The problem is that day and for the last 6 months both bitwa and bitiya paid the price for bitwa's decision and today if ASR lets her walk away with a lie again it's both of them paying the price. That night and for the last 6 months khushi has suffered more than ASR and today as well if she chooses to walk away it's her who will face more humiliation....
That time bitwa let her face his family and hers all by herself but this time he can't let that happen... He will protect her, shield her not by lying but by letting out the truth....

I guess I have high hopes from ASR fingers crossed for the next confrontation at RM tomorrow and day after....

5. Jaya, he did say that he wanted her happiness on her birthday. As to the fighting spirit, that is what the R&R gals said. He hated to see her defeated and hence goaded her to fight back and yet he left her feeling defeated and even gloated over how he was right.

UJ, yes, I felt sorry for him too but my heart went out more to Khushi because as you said they are paying the price for ODB's hasty decision and although two wrongs don't make one right, as long as they don't show his open remorse and FBs of how much he hurt her, I will be biased towards K.

Yes, he may protect her by telling the truth but don't you think that had he told the whole truth and nothing but the truth to his family including his precious Di, K would not be in this position where she is forced to remove herself from the scene lest she comes between the bro-sis bond? He put his Di's feelings ahead of his wife's on the night of the grand confrontation and remained silent for far too long as she kept getting humiliated and Shyam had enough time to cast doubts on people's minds. They are still paying the price of that.

Yes, he always straightens things up after messing it up in the first place. Does not lessen the burden of the mess, does it?

Jaya, to me that scene was reminiscent of the road scene after the kidnap when he had to swerve in the nth minute to avoid hitting her. Only difference was then Shyam put her life on the line and this time she herself is putting her life on the line for the sake of peace and happiness in his life which she thinks is without her.

The day Arnav openly acknowledges that he is not always right and in fact was very wrong and that he wants her back because he needs her is the day he would have redeemed himself completely for me. Yes, I can get carried away momentarily his charms, much like poor Khushi but then he keeps reminding me he still has a long way to go to get out of the woods.

I have read umpteetnth posts defending his actions but sadly NONE were able to clear him in my eyes.. :( He isn't wooing her back this way, rather pushing her further away from himself and breaking her spirit.. </3

Plus i hope CVs stop with this lies and all.. In order to justify other characters they try to ruin Khushi by either turning her into a joker or by lying left, right, center..

Does that mean winning her back is still left for once they are back in RM? Why did he have to humiliate Khushi the way he did with the taking over the house drama.... When he had the perfect opportunity to ask the same question he asked today that " all this is about the contract" ...... There were quite a few occasions when Khushi said the same lines that all wil be fine in few days..... Why dint he ask her the question then?????

- Also he did not know BGB were not at home so there was no water or electricity for them too -that was just unforgivable - am so so disappointed :(
thanks to this bit - the rest was ruined for me

A hodge podge of quotes to celebrate the 2nd time 2 individuals have spoken to each other candidly albeit in frustration. The scene is yet to end so let us wait and see what tomorrow brings.

But the song
"Aadmi jo kehta hai, aadmi jo sunta hai
zindagi bhar woh sadaayein peecha karti hain" holds good for Khushi and Arnav today.

― Friedrich Nietzsche

“People think that a liar gains a victory over his victim. What I’ve learned is that a lie is an act of self-abdication, because one surrenders one’s reality to the person to whom one lies, making that person one’s master, condemning oneself from then on to faking the sort of reality that person’s view requires to be faked…The man who lies to the world, is the world’s slave from then on…There are no white lies, there is only the blackest of destruction, and a white lie is the blackest of all.”

I have a feeling that nothing will come out this track. ODB will somehow manage to get biwi back to RM with another dhamaki. His RTR is still miles away...because his RTR may somehow signify the end of the show. I hope I am wrong - I would love to see some redemption in the current track. Khushi assasination has gone on for too long now.

I really do wish everyone starts talking to each other openly. Even the Anjali MU will continue in order for her to lean towards Shyam babu more. Anajli will either not say anything or ask ODB how is buaji and he will say "aab theek hain."

15. Rant alert

Dear Cvs, did you forget your own script? It wasn’t khushi’s idea to get into a contract marriage. It was ASR’s. Then why are you showing as if khushi is behind all this Royal Mess? She probably didn’t think through her decision of walking out of RM but don’t make her look like she is guilty of breaking up her marriage with arnav. In today’s epi arnav came across as someone to whom marriage means a lot and khushi came across as someone to whom the deal means a lot. May be the cvs are tying to show the transposition of both these character, but in doing so you cannot butcher their core traits. The institution of marriage holds a lot of value to khushi, she may have married arnav under pressure but she would never insult the bond that binds them through marriage.

Khushi is distancing herself from arnav coz Di is unhappy with her presence. Di’s unhappiness causes arnav to be unhappy which in turn affects her. Acc to her if she stays away everything will sort out all by itself. No it is definitely not easy for her to let go. No she doesnt want her marriage to break. But she doesn’t want anybody to be sad on her account. She is only using the contract as her crutch. She is giving ASR a taste of his own medicine. And i say he deserves it. Cvs pls top making khushi a scapegoat. Stop massacring her and turning her into ur stereotypical SP bahu, both khushi and SI deserve better. I felt their dialogues were interchanged. shouldn’t these be the questions khushi must be asking arnav?

I don’t understand what ASR is playing at, or rather what cvs are trying to convey. You want your biwi back by hook or crook and you don;t give a damn how much you hurt her in the process? Where is the changed man? IMO he deserves a tighter slap than the one he gave both VLR and his hapless employee. He was downright ruthless with her today. Even his supposed genuine concern for her broken ankle didn’t come across well for me. Is he really madly in love with his biwi? I sure don;t see his love for her. All i see is his maniac HAQ. Hasn’t he learned yet that doing things his way has only hurt khushi over and over again? Hasn’t he realised yet that she has already reached her saturation point ? Every time he lures her into his trap of love only to break her down completely. It is high time he realises that when ever his shatir (err) dimaag makes an entry, things are always downhill between him and khushi. When will his bhavuk dil make an entry?

This track was supposed to be arnav wooing her lady... all i (aam janta) see is arnav torturing his biwi, making things harder for her and forcing her to come back to RM with him. Why did arnav say he is always right? Didn't he accept himself, just a few days back, that he was all wrong about khushi (terrace scene explanation to nani)? Didn't he grossly misjudge shyam? ASR makes not just small mitakes but mighty blunders. I don;t remember the last time he was right about anything. There is a tamil saying, “aathirakaaranuku buddhi mattu” translates into Anger dilutes a man’s intelligence. This one line defines ASR. He always takes rash decisions in haste and anger, which invariably often ends up as a hurt for khushi. shouldn’t this track be about arnav not succumbing to anger at all? Actually the build up was good, up until yesterday. Only today cvs spilt water on al their kiye karaye. Today there was no arnav, only ASR. I seriousy feel bad for this character. Butchering ki bhi hadh hoti hai yaar.

As for anjali, i am reserving comments until DB agrees to sport a baby bump....

I can't get you out of the sunlight
I can't get you out of the rain

We crash when we race

Oh this is not the way that it should end

No, I never wanna fall apart,
Never wanna break your heart
Never wanna let you break my own

That we probably didn't mean

So, before you say you're gonna go...
I should probably let you know

See I look for you in the morning

But I know it now...
I wish I would've known before
How good we were...
Or is it too late to come back
Or is it's really over,
If it's really over...

But this is not the way that it should end
It's the way it should begin

17. i feel that the CVs forgot abt RB when they started the GH track and when they realised, they introduced this rude ASR else there seems little reason for Arnav to rush to threaten when he has 10 days more to win her over...

Krish liked ur post and Song dedication....

ReplyDelete
18. Krish,

For starters, apart from exigency(for getting her to RM before RB), i see no reason for Arnav to be threatening in his attempts to get Khushi back....thats a convenient explanation that i tell myself....

However, i have to share this after reading ur post....

I don't know if this makes u feel better but i have a semblance of an explanation for the reason why it appears as if Khushi is the one standing as the accused.....

The future track will involve some sacrifice...some going away, staying away and frankly since it can't be ASR doing that becos the story comes to a standstill if that happens...

If ASR decides to forsake this love...what will remain of this love story...as Khushi has already decided to walk away from her love....bas kashish(no eng equivalent) hi reh jayegi...

Even if he has to put some distance between them in the coming days...one thing would have to be established beyond doubt that Khushi understands her position in his life (what she means to him)else she will never seek him out ever.....thats a given.....

Even today, it appeared to me as if Khushi doesn't seem to be questioning why is he being mean....her question seems to be why are u doing this when it will not amount to anything at the end.....that part which she is not able to verbalise..she is taking refuge in vague words to distance herself while not being able to face the reality of it all. The CVs could have been sharper in getting that part conveyed but i had to see the last part some 5 times before making that conclusion. ( i have never replayed any convo in my life to get the sub-text ever...the things we do in our insane state!!)

whichever way u see it, in this track ASR will come out getting the sympathy mostly becos he will be making the overtures....and Khushi withdrawing....i so wish Khushi opened her mouth but the sad part is the time to demand explanations and answers for her has gone by and she will have no use for it now....

She will hang to all this when he has his peetal ka bartan moment and draw him out ASR style....

19. The last 5-7 minutes left me a myriad of emotions. Happy that arnav and khushi finally spoke more than a few broken sentences, glad that contract is out in the open, happy that they let out a bit of steam each, angry with both khushi and ASR, sad that khushi did not continue to talk about it and cut the topic short, feeling bad for both Arnav and Khushi today and ofc can feel their pain for each other, for their situation, for loving each other hopelessly but not expressing it enough in words.

Both of them sticking to their true character - ASR and Khushi. Khushi as always stubborn and ASR plain ruthless.

I have said it before, Arnav is a possessive, passionate and aggressive lover. All that matters is khushi be with him. I got a feeling that he has a plan, a plan to tell the truth to everyone. He might be ruthless, heartless and down right cruel at times but he is honest man. He is irked by khushi's lie. She took a hasty decision to leave RM, leave even if she had to lie. She has not thought about the consequences but he can see them clearly. Everyone at RM thinks buaji is unwell but that will be caught out in no time. What happens when the lie is caught, will she lie again. keeping lying.. how long for? The truth has to come out (not necesarily about 6 month contract but at least about forced wedding). If khushi is hell bent on leaving after 6 months contract finishes then the truth about contract needs to come out as well.

Ofc buaji, amma and babuji will be worried why she is in her maika for such a long time. So what is she planning to do lie on this end as well?

He can't leave her alone anymore to face amma, babuji, buaji and taunts from neighbours as well. 'Bahot ziddi ho tum' unsaid I have told you so many times you can't do everything alone, I am here for you, tell me what the problem is, we will sort it out together.

'Mujhe tumhe hurt karna pada, kyunki mai nahi chahata ki koi aur tumhe hurt kare' even today he is hurting her because he doesn't want amma and buaji to hurt her. Even when she eloped and married they disowned her... will they even begin to understand a contract marriage even if it was for payal's sake? What about the neighbours. What if the gupta's throw her out of the house? He can't let anyone else hurt her because she is his and he loves her no end.

Yes he is being ruth less but then ' iss pyaar mein sahi aur galat ka koi matlab nahi hai... bas matlab hai toe iss baat ka ki mai humesha tumse pyaar karunga.'

When they got married she had said ' aaj aapki bajah se hum ek baar phir anaath ho gaye...' He doesn't want to a reason once again for her to feel like an orphan when the truth about the contract is out at GH. He has no choice but to hurt her to bring her back to RM.

1. Just a quick comment ... will be back later with more :)

Did Arnav ever give a thought to what Khushi would do after the six months were over, if he hadn't found out the truth about Shyam? Did Khushi? Of the two, she was more prepared for that situation ... that's why her shame when she agreed for the contract marriage with the six month clause. She knew she would be ostracised, she would lose everything , including probably her adoptive family ...

NOW he can't leave her alone to face that ... THEN he was perfectly ready to do so ... he didn't think about the consequences to her at that point ...

And that's what I want a fierce Khushi to point out to him ... I HATE that they have made her this quiet wimp ... I want her to tell him, I've been prepared for that day to come since the last six months, you have only started worrying about it now? Didn't you think about it when you forced me into this marriage? You want to tell my family ... well, let me handle my family myself, with truth or lies, but you go and tell YOUR family the truth first.

2. Dia,

For Arnav, the problem does not even exist....the way he sees it is

Yes, i brought u under a premise that was proved wrong
Yes, i went on a voyage of self-discovery (nothing to back me) for that premise to be proved wrong
Yes, I have fallen in love with u
Yes, I see u have fallen in love with me
Yes, Di is no longer a problem, maybe maybe not
Ok yes, we came together for a flimsy reason but since the reason has grown stronger, lets stay together from now on

So, heck..whats the problem? so lets get together.....

I am in no way saying that what Arnav did then was right nor am i saying i am won over by him. He has lots of RTR to walk. He has only just started and when it comes to his RTR i am on the same page as you.
Arnav has a lot to learn to doubt about it. Yes he did not think about the consequences then and she did. Does the change the situation in anyway as far as the family is concerned. This IMO is something that Arnav and Lhushi should sort out between them - the 6 months clause i mean. Whether she thiught of 6 months ago and he is thinking about it now matters inly between them, for the families involved it will hurt equally bad whether or not Arnav thought anout it that time....

The point is khushi can't run away from the web of things they are caught into. It's not just his making. They have created the mess together. One more responsible for the mess than the other. Ofc VLR was the main ingredient.

Arnav needs to express what khushi means to him and for him not just to her but to his Di as well. While khushi nreds to stop self sacrificing and claim her right over him and tell him rxactly how many times and in what ways he has pained her instead of running away from the situation.

Running away resolves things for sometime but things always come back to bite....

20. The real reason for khushi leaving is Di and he knows it hence 'taki tumhe humari shaadi se azadi... khushi ye sab hone dogi tum' unsaid won't you fight for our relationship? won't you give us a chance? won't you at least try for our sakes? I know the environment in RM is not exactly condusive and half the people don't talk to you properly. I do realise di is upset and that's why you are upset. I understand that you you don't want a rift between me and di, even I don't want it but it doesn't mean you have leave. If you are with me, we will set everything right, we will make things work again for you, for me and for us... Khushi don't just walk away give us a chance.

Somehow I get a feeling that ASR has a plan. The plan is to let the cat out, to tell everyone the truth. The truth that has been hidden for such a long time and has brought them to this crossroad.

'Ab sab kuch mere tarike se hoga' 'Lekin ab humein such bolna chahiye, ab kisi ke saath bhi koi games nahi khelenge' ASR will give it to everyone bluntly the truth of what happened, it might hurt but that is the right thing to do. Isn't that what ASR is all about - ruthless, blatant, blunt, arrogant, egoist yet honest and truthful....

1. UJ,

I agree with you that ASR is blunt, arrogant, egoist, truthful and honest but why is he being all of this only to Khushi? If only he had told his Di the whole truth and nothing but the truth including what he witnessed on the terrace (Shyam hugging Khushi) and why he took the decision to marry Khushi (including the torture he had subjected her to because of his MU), Anj would not be having the doubts about K. He glossed over the truth, revealing just the bare minimum which is only leaving more to interpretation (depending on the evolving circumstances). If Arnav had told the truth then Khushi needn't have to lie now. What stops him from telling Khushi that their contract is not ending in 6 months because it is no longer a contract but a life time commitment? Why can he not truthfully admit that he wants her back because he needs her and not because he is ASR and he is right? He should have learnt by now that it is this attitude of his that irks her the most and makes her more rigid. He may able to force her back home but can he win her love in this manner? The day he learns that in love you do not use force and arrogance certainly has no place in matters of the heart is the day he would have won me over.

Why is she running away from RM? - to make him and his family happy. He is willing to hurt himself, get censured from one and all for having forced Khushi into this situation. He will hurt but she will hurt more because he is hurt. He will take in harshness but she will come running to protect and care for him.
And thereby in trying to set her free he will have her running into his arms.
Keep reminding her of the mortality of the relationship to ensure she helps him make it immortal.

"Aakash ka sunaapan mere tanha man main
Payal chankaati tum aa jao jeevan main
Saansein dekar apni meri preet amar kar do.."

Raizadas will perhaps want her to punish him too but the Gupta women esp Garima will again sit her down and remind her that life is about ups and downs. But if your life partner is willing to go to the ends fo the world for you, be assured it will be a good life hat you both shall share.

ASR does not realize teh extent of the disconnect between Khushi and Di. He thinks Di is getting ok after his chat with her that night where Khushi is concerned. But like with Khushi, he needs to use all his knowledge of her to ferret ot the truth. And perhaps this will be interesting because he has always taken what he has seen with her as the truth. Will he realize that teh person who he thought the most transperant is actually the most hidden from him?

Events seem to be moving backwards
1. The bandagement - coming together on the clifftop
2. Khushi leaving RM for GH - Khushi's work tenure at RM ending
3. The payal and ankle scene - Diwali
4. Slip and fall together - Diwali and last Janmashtami 5. The outburst about marriage - the post Janmashtami convo in his car where he derieded and she spoke of its everlasting nature ; today a reminder of that
6. Khushi helps bring back the sweetness in the Arnav Anjali bond that recent events have eclipsed? - Khushi made the laddoos last year for raksha bandhan For Khushi's sake, Arnav spends more time with Di and not her?
7. Khushi goes back to RM? - last year she went back for Anjali's sake. She helped Arnav find Anjali and patch up with her. But first Arnav had thrown money in her face and exploited her love for her family. Then too Khushi was the cause teh bro and sis had a fight. Anjali went missing.
8. Khushi's presence in the house is under debate? - Last year Arnav did not want her in HIS house as she made a condition that she did not want to see his face. Anjali wanted her there at all costs.
9. Anjali had emotionally blackmailed Khushi using the contract to bring her back to RM for La irrespective of what her brother felt and thought about Khushi. Mami and Anjali were co-conspirators. If La did not succeed with Nani, her bro might have left the house with her as he had threatened.
10. Khushi lost her Payal at the Shyam Anjali anniversary - she came back to Arnav just when he thought he had lost her forever?
11. Arnav's thought of Khushi at the saansein ruk jaayegi moment and Khushi thinking of her Laad Governor
12. Khushi told him she is leaving him forever..humeshaa ke liye chod ke jaa rahe hain - a reversal this year? And Arnav was trying to apologize.
13. Teej Celebrations and Shyam had entered the story in a big way
14. The contract was broken.

If I skip the 1st 2 points and start with the payal scene on Day 1 of Bring Back Khushi, I seem to have landed wih 12 points and Arnav has 12 days to win Khushi.

missed this post of urs....kahan ho tum?

just coming in for rambles when the track is so confusing....please darshan do.....sis

Are u saying these steps will be retraced in a similar manner for the next ten days.........gosh its eerie....sandy how do manage to get thru the maze?

If i went into the bhul bhulaiya, i will be gone for ever....

4. Rekha,

12 steps just happened. I had this thought started to write and when I finished the no ws there - it was eerie to me too. Today and tomorrow is end of phase 2 of food bill. Next phase is the 3rd set, life comign a full circle, teh last 3 days on navratri - wisdom / knowledge.

My only wish is if Arnav wants to set rigth teh wrongs, let him tell GH taht he forced Khsuhi to elop enad marry using Payal's wedding as collateral because fo Shyam and let him bring them upto speed on what happened at RM also wrt Shyam.

I am somehow not for teh 6 month thing to come out to anyone except them. It will in my view hurt Khushi more than Arnav. Her family may alienate her all over again. And I definitely do not want her to go back to him under sucha cloud of alienation.

I want him to tell RM and GH teh truth of their wedding, that he loves her and she sacrificed for the sake of both families. And he did what he did thinking to save Di and her baby but ended up ruining Khushi and his lives all these months till the kidnapping. (I still feel Anjali will not know of this for now. Shyam will tell her of the forced wedding and it will bcome one more thing Arnav hid from her and somehow it will go against Khushi - Arnav says he married Khushi fro di's sake, wedding was force, so Khsuhi hates her)

Bas - that will make everyone's anger against her intiial action go away and perhaps divert it all onto him. Then she has to come in to apply balm is it not? And he manages to latch on to her insecurity and tell her under a night sky holding her hand over his heart and his over hers that for him she is his need, his very lifebreath forever and ever, in every lifetime...

And then he carries her inside to their room and claims her as his in every manner of the word and she finally sublimates herself to the desires that he had evoked in her.

But mere kehnse se kya hota hai......

5. sandy, this makes so much sense its eerie.
hope the CVs have a fraction of this sensibility, and give us this logical track.. SHIDDAT!

Delete
6. Sandy, agree with Jaya, this makes so much sense! Hope he does it this way ... tells the Guptas about the forced wedding, leaving out the six month contract, and also tell them that Shyam's lies have been exposed ... he doesn't need to go into detail about the whole thing. Guptas will only be too happy that they don't have to playact any more to question much.

I wonder if the entire truth will come out at RM yet ... but his words, that it's time to stop playing games and tell the truth, might indicate that he is finally going to do something about it and tell RM about the forced marriage ... agree that Anjali will not know yet ... leaving her still susceptible to Shyam's manipulations.

Baaki ... SHIDDAT!!! aisa hi ho!! I do think this is leading to a big meltdown on Khushi's part at the end of the contract period ... the return to RM is probably for RB only.

Almost forgot ... HAPPY RAKSHA BANDHAN, everyone!

21. Krish,

One point that i missed in the above post is

For a practical man like ASR, who is still low on EQ...his assumption of Khushi's acceptance of his love (the lengths she goes everytime to show it)is proof enuf that the contract is only a word......

He has little understanding of what really ails the relationship, much lesser the external factors crowding his marriage...(ok..It doesn't make an him endearing character but this is how ASR is). Today was a revelation of sorts for him...he saw a determined in-love Khushi who can actually reject his love..

As always, he can't process very emotional matters UNTIL they reach break-point) Holi being the only other time when he flowed with the moment but then it was bhang-induced

Proof:

near-kiss at Diwali, car & GH convo at Diwali, Khushi's engagement, khushi's disappearance at Havan on Shyam discovery, ambulance, di's accident, terrace, HR,suicide, bridge convo, ILU, Kidnapping drama, Khushi's near death, Di's abortion attempt, Khushi leaving for GH first time, and now most importantly,
Khushi denying his love today(a reversal of the diwali moment)

for ASR, there is a common thread of losing something in all these moments...either his self-control, or his hold over his most precious possession,Khushi or the fear of losing his closest blood relative, Di.

these are the times, he reacts with extreme anger or becomes insecure with fear of losing

Eager to know what he does now.....just rambling..don't know if i made any sense....

1. Agree with you completely Rekha He behaves erractic only when caught in a highly emotional situation. Today when he was walking away from GH after telling her that she and her family have an hour to vacate the propoerty.... he turns around and looks at her hoping she will give in but when she doesn't the panic sets in and he looks dejected... I thought BS was very good here... SI was brilliant throughtout no doubt about that...

3. Barun was fantastic ... as a Sanaya fan, I have to say I thought she could have done better :) Especially in the first half ... she was a little shrill and over-excited ... she could have toned down the anger to make it more effective.
But I loved the sudden mood change at the neck caress ... her whole expression and body language changed beautifully there ... maybe the contrast showed through because her expressions were so different just moments before.

So did Barun's ... their expressions there for a simple neck caress were goosebump inducing.

The emotional second half, she was perfect ...

22. Khushi - innocent, sacrificing, loving, caring, forgiving but at the same time stubborn and egoist. Sacrifice the biggest virtue in khushi is making their lives difficult isn't it? She wants to scarifice their relationship, their chance at happiness, their chance at togetherness for Di's sake. She may be able to somehow cope with life without him afterall she is the stronger of the two but at the moment she has no idea that he can't live without her even for a few hours let alone all his life. 'kyonki heer ke bina toe ranjhe ka koi wajood hi nahi hota...' She does not realise that the sacrifice that she is making is like that poisonous ladoo that heer ate and then ranjha ate the same leading them to their grieved fate.

What is she suppose to do though, the only man she has ever loved has pushed her away on several occassions, hurt her beyond belief, abused emotionally and manhandled her on many occassions. Never has he once confessed his feelings for her. Yes he did say ILU on the phone but she took it as a duress code' he did say in front of everyone that he trusts her but is that enough? He needs to tell what exactly she means to him, tell her in so many words that if she is not with him 'toe meri saansein rukh jayegi'

The day he tells her what she means to him is the day when she will resolve to never walk away from him, from them, from their love and relationship. She will stay and fight and give it whatever it takes...

ASR has only just started forming sentences and talking but he will need to learn to talk very quickly as he has only 10 days to tell her what he feels for her... and she will have to learn to trust him again....

3. UJ,

More than sacrifice, Khushi has made assumptions for the future. ASSUME - Ass of U and ME

She has assumed that by her going away, Anjali Di will be happy and therefore Arnav will be happy.

She has not thought about or rather refuses to think and acknowledge that her going away is not going to give Arnav any happiness. And if he is not happy, can Anjali continue to be happy?

Rather over time, like Arnav became cynical of the world that snatched his mother away from him, it is possible that yet again he hardens and becomes cynical / aloof of his sister for perhaps having been teh reason that his Khushi, his life left him. It could go from, don't ever leave me like Ma did to..
Di, Ma left me because of you
Khushi left me because of you...

So what would Khushi's plan have achieved?

She thinks by going away, she will be able to magically heal the differences between Aakash and Payal. But Payal will pine for a sister lost (assuming Khushi decides to disappear after the contract ends in her current frame of min as Arnav has reminded her of what her parents will face). Payal will get bullied by her mother in law and husband for the deeds of a sister who hurt the daughter and also seemed to have hurt the son of the family.

What would Khushi's plan have acheived?

“Imagining the future is a kind of nostalgia. You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you'll escape it one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present.”
― John Green, Looking for Alaska

Would Khushi be happy in teh future someplace knowing all her near ones are happy? Will she try to mask her unhappiness of being away from them with that small thought of their happiness? And what would happen if at this point she comes to know that no one in either of her families is happy?
What would her sacrifice and hiding of the truth have achieved? Yes she did it for all their happiness and hene to her it felt justified.

What had happened to the girl who was never afraid to speak her mind? Who never hid facts and truths and gave as good as she got?

When did she morph into this person hiding behind facades? Was that one heartbreak that Diwali night worthy of being graced with such a morphing of personality?

From thereon, that one lie she told herself and this man has made her beholden to him. She is always running, avoiding because there is a truth she hides from him. He seems close to getting to that truth now and she is desperate to not let him know. The truth will only set her free...

Delete
4. UJ,

Until and unless Arnav grows a spine, and places his wife on her rightful place, BESIDE HIM ... I will say Khushi is justified in her actions.

Also as long as he does not tell Anjali the entire truth, assure her that HE AND KHUSHI are always with her and will be her biggest support ... and make it clear to Anjali that he and Khushi are one entity now, so there is no question of choosing between her and his wife.

He is perfectly ready to tell HER family the truth of the contract marriage, and break their hearts, just because he wants to force her back to RM ... but is still keeping his sister wrapped in cottonwool? Sorry, but truth telling works if it is universal, otherwise it is hypocrisy.

I would have more respect for Arnav if he said - fine, stay here for ten days ... on the eleventh, when our contract is over, I will take you back home as my lawfully wedded wife. Are you okay with that? Right now, he is asking for trouble ...
And my feeling is getting stronger and stronger that this is exactly what the cv's want to show ... Arnav loves Khushi, but does not yet understand the true meaning of love. His RTR still has many miles to go.

Delete
5. As for one heartbreak? Only one? Diwali was just the first ... then came'farak padta hai' ... the tip with the lehnga ... then came the forced marriage, after she started building her dreams again ... then came Heer Ranjha ... then came the kidnapping and the return, when he acknowledged her as his wife, as equally important as Anjali ... and then wished he had never met her ... then forced her to stay back because of the contract ...
Never once reassuring her that she had a place in his heart ... and now too, he is forcing her back with threats and blackmail ...

He is responsible for turning this girl who always spoke the truth, was never afraid to speak her mind ... into a girl who runs to hide herself, hides her feelings, her emotions, fearing heartbreak again and again ...

When he says 'you want to free yourself of this marriage ...' she looks at him appalled ... can he really think that? Can he really think it doesn't mean anything to her?

The good thing is that they have finally started TALKING ... letting out their feelings to each other ... hopefully they will finally voice their true feelings soon!

6. Dia,
". on the eleventh, when our contract is over, I will take you back home as my lawfully wedded wife. Are you okay with that?"

What would Khushi's response be?
If he says marriage is forever, will she say, "OK. I'll come to RM. "?
Di is still there, right?
I felt in that last 5 minutes, Khushi does not want to discuss anything more about their relationship. She is not giving Arnav any opportunity to talk because she fears he may bring up making their marrriage permanent, and she cannot bear to refuse him when he puts it down in words.
Actually when he asked her,"Is this a contract for you?", wasn't that a strong indication to her that it is more than that to him?
Isn't she telling him, "Both of us know Di is the problem. Why are you bringing 'me and you' again and again? Is there even a point in discussing all this? Lets just part ways to keep your Di happy. She'll never be happy if I am around."

Haven't we all come across real life situations where lovers decide to split because their families can't accept them as a couple?
I feel Khushi is just doing the same here, only diff is that instead of a steadfast affair, she had a shaky contract marriage and they both ended up realising their feelings for each other.
Both situations, real life and IPK, are equally painful. But people do this all the time for their parents.

UJ,
A really beautiful thot:
"'kyonki heer ke bina toe ranjhe ka koi wajood hi nahi hota...' She does not realise that the sacrifice that she is making is like that poisonous ladoo that heer ate and then ranjha ate the same leading them to their grieved fate. "

Delete
7. A jumble of thoughts ... as jumbled as Khushi's, maybe ...

Yes, for Khushi, Di is the biggest problem. But isn't her own status at RM also hurting her somewhere? Is this ALL about Di? In real life, these things are not cut and dried, there is usually a mix of emotions involved.

Do you think that if Khushi was more secure about her own position in the house, about her marriage, her place as Mrs ASR, and her place in Arnav's life and heart, she would feel more confident about being able to deal with Anjali and her resentment?

In real life also we come across couples who decide to split because of their parents ... yes,

BUT we also come across couples who decide to be together despite parental opposition, and then work together for that acceptance. But those couples have to be very sure about their place in each others lives first, before they can fight for their rights or acceptance from the families.

Does Khushi have that confidence about her own place in Arnav's life yet?

And that is why I repeat again, that Arnav has to first reassure her about her place in his life, before they can touch the subject of Di ... and so far, he has not. In fact, by running after Di to reassure her first, before going to an equally upset Khushi, showed Khushi again where she figured in the scheme of things ...

Di is a problem because Arnav ALLOWS HER TO BE. In any husband-wife relationship, a MIL or a SIL is a problem only if the husband doesn't put his wife first and give her first place in his life. Putting Khushi at the same place as Anjali is not the answer ... telling Anjali that things have not changed is NOT the answer, because things HAVE CHANGED ...

The answer is telling Anjali that yes, things HAVE changed, I'm married now, that doesn't mean I don't love you as much as I did before, it just means that now I have a partner who loves you as much as I do, and we both will look after you together ... earlier, you were special only to me, now you are special to both of us.

Thereby reassuring Anjali, and also telling her that he and Khushi are ONE UNIT. And ALSO telling Khushi the same thing.

8. Dia I for one beg to differ today. ASR has always had the spine for good or for bad. He had the spine to release the video tape in lucknow, he had the spine to throw money in her face to bring her back home, he had the spine to shout at his Di and say this is my house and I don't eant thus girl in my house, he had the spine to fight fir La and bring her to RM despite all opposition from his family, he had the spine to acknowledge to La that he does not have the same feelings fir her and therefore they should not go ahead withtheir engagement, he had the spine to stand up in front of the world and announce that La and he were not getting engaged, he had the spine to tell his Di the truth that fateful night she did not register is a different story all together and he also had the spone to let his Di know that he loves khushi and khushi is the girl without whom he will stop breathing again the problem is Di does not realise the depth of his love.
And if necessary he will still stand and announce the world what khushi means to him. I don't think he will shy away from that. The problem here is khushi not willing to accept thus relationship.... Why announce it to the world and make her look as if she is the one unwilling...

Ofc khushi is not wrong either she does not know how much and to what extend he loves her.

Su
On the same page as you, she is afraid that if he had asked if she wants to make this marriage a permanent one she would not be able to refuse... She does not realise that the sacrifice she is willing to make will only end piercing through both of them....

As Sandy mentioned above it might only make him more cynical. He might even move away from his Di and family even more... What is the point of this sacrifice then????

The bottom line for me is
Arnav has to realise himself and make khushi realise that she is the uppermost in his life. That they are one not separate entities anymore....
She has to realise herself and make him understand that whatever she is doing is because of and for him. Coz as far as khushi is concerned she thinks Di will not be happy if she is around abd if Di is not happy Arnav will not be happy. And it's Arnav's pain and unhappiness she can't bear. For she doesn't know yet that his happiness, his life is her.

Ab toe hai tumse har khushi apni
Tum pe marna hai zindagi apni....

Abhimaan.... A brautiful film reflecting Arnav and Khushi for isn't it his abhimaan and her self sacrificing behaviour that has brought them to where they stand today....

Delete
9. Sorry, adding to the above, or retracting part of it ...
Di is a problem because Arnav and Khushi BOTH allow her to be.

Arnav, by putting Anjali at the same place as Khushi, by not realising the magnitude of the problem of Di's insecurities ...

and Khushi, by virtue of her own insecurities ... her insecurities about her marriage, about her place in Arnav's life, about her own status, she has always settled for second-best, never belonged to anyone, never been first priority for anyone ... and Arnav's blow hot blow cold behaviour hasn't helped. Plus she was always extremely fond of Anjali, and is genuinely upset and guilty about the havoc she has caused in Anjali's life, and again that was just reinforced by Arnav.

Delete
10. Dia,

I chose the Diwali heartbreak because that was the turning point. That was when Khushi gradually started burying herself, her feelings, hiding away herself. Then Arnav saw her being chirpy and bubbly and easily set it aside as perhaps he meant nothing to her but today he can see beyond that wall because he knows better. Some much needed progress.

It was also that day that Khushi realized that she felt alive as a woman in his presence and sight. And since then she willingly let him have a hold over her because in some corner of her heart she wanted to. The Ayn Rand quote above abour how a lie makes one beholden to the person being lied to.

Blow hot and cold has happened from both ends Dia. If Arnav has done it, so has Khushi saying koi faraq nahi padhtha (zidd). If she has acused Arnav of trying to play God, what did she try and do when La was leaving ASR the first time. She would have suffered heartbreak but then is that not what happened eventually?

To me the fact that when he finally brings up the contract between them it is when they ae all alone itself says he is not wanting to expose this fact and thereby Khushi to the world. Yes she sacrificed for her family but do you really think Amma and buaji will be happy that Khushi agreed to something like this for Payal's sake or will they be first and foremost worried about society and how they will face them? Would not Garima perhaps think that this is just some new sanak by Khushi to trouble Arnav who has been so caring of her? If now she sits to recount the horrors of teh past months, will not the question come as to why not tell us then and only now? No proof then and no proof now. Garima and Buaji may even say we will come apologize to Arnav for Shyam incident and beg him to take you back - would Khushi want to go back that way? Guptas are after all simple people, their honour their main wealth and another daughter in the same house. Somehow am reminded of how Karna was cursed for trying not to disturb the Brahmin who was resting.

It is like Arnav said, in her zidd to get him to speak abotu his feelings for her, she has risked the exposure of something that could be more dmaaging to her family than the Raizadas.

Plus somewhere in this whole process, Arnav is trying to tellKhushi that it is all very well and fine to think of others but you need to also think about yourself.

And she can only begin to think about herself when she stops lying to herself - that despite teh contract, despite all the hurts he has given her in teh past and the hurtful words he has hurled at her even about never having met her, she loves him, needs him, his happiness matters above all.If she is a girl asking a boy to fall for her, she needs to let the boy know how much she has fallen for him since forever.

And yes where Anjali is concerned both Arnav and Khushi need to stop protecting her. I somehow get the feeling that the both of them think that the khulaasa which happened that day has been absorbed by Anjali. That she will trust her brother's word over all that was said and done. What they have not bargained for is her belief in that bnd is being shaken because she finds him willfully hiding things from her these days more and more often. So If he is lying now, how can she believe what he said that day - the last grab at a piece of wood by a drowning woman.

11. Sandy,

i really want to believe that the words spoken by arnav yesterday "tum aisa hone dogi?' are indicative of his plea to her to fight for the relationship.

but there is also this feeling that arnav merely thinks the barriers that khushi has put up is for the contract...which must appear a silly thing to him considering the depth of feelings both have exhibited?

His asking her fight has that connotation only now, isn't it?
Becos if he thinks the reason is Di, his plea is really strange becos that is not something that can be solved by that plea? he will need to assuage her fears.....I am not getting any hint that he has understood her real fears or

if he has, HE IS GOING ABOUT THIS THE WRONG WAY

Having said that, I also agree Khushi needs to talk...
let her say, i love u despite everything u have done but i for once am going to be thinking about my breaking heart...

else it will be too late once she gets on to the BIG SaCRIFICE TRAIN....again.......

12. Sandy,
Agree to many of your points above. Yes, Arnav has done well in bringing up the contract between them alone ... that is the best thing he has done so far ... definitely far better than the rent and builder threats ...

What would Khushi have told Garima and Buaji when the marriage finally ended? Would she have told them the truth? That is was a contract marriage? I don't think so, which is why she didn't want him to tell them that.
She has never let Arnav take any of the blame for his actions. She didn't let Payal tell Akash the entire truth about Arnav's role in Payal's broken marriage, she shielded, and continues to shield Arnav's part in the forced marriage, she went straight to Nani to clarify that Arnav WAS telling the truth, his meeting got cancelled, that was why he came home ...
No, Khushi would not have blamed Arnav for the broken marriage, she would have shouldered the blame herself. That's a given.

Why did Arnav wait for two days to bring up the contract? Why all this bullying and blackmailing to come home, all the builder and rent drama? Why not confront her straight out, that I know this is the reason you have left ... as far as he knows this is the ONLY reason, he thinks Di is more or less sorted out. Or does he?

Why did Khushi not tell him directly that she left because of Di? And is waiting for the contract to get over? Why all the lies? Again insecurity? Or fear that he will force her back, and the same problems will start again? Should she also not tell him straight out, that you want me to come back, your Di is not happy to see me there, and you will not be happy if your Di is unhappy.

A start has been made by bringing up the contract ... I wonder if this is the right way ... by forcing her to go back. I agree that by Khushi staying at GH, the problem is not getting any closer to a solution, so in that sense Arnav is right to take her back. But maybe if he told her that he understood the problem, but it wouldn't get sorted by staying in GH, it might help. Maybe he could challenge her that she was running away ... she thrives on challenges, it might goad her to return. Threatening and blackmailing her ... :(

13. contd ...
Maybe if Arnav makes Khushi's position more secure in RM, Khushi would get the confidence she needs to fight for her love. Maybe Arnav will see Anjali's real reaction to Khushi's presence. Maybe Anjali will be clever and mask her real reaction to Khushi, and show her true feelings only when Arnav is not around.
I do not believe that while there is any doubt in Anjali's mind about Khushi's role in the Shyam drama, she will accept Khushi wholeheartedly. Not even for Arnav's sake ... especially not for Arnav's sake ... BECAUSE she loves Arnav so much.

I don't think Khushi is lying to herself about loving Arnav ... she's lying to herself about needing him, yes ... because she is scared to need him ... again because she is still not secure about her position in his life.

So it all boils down to Arnav first making her feel secure in his life and his love ... which, given the number of times he has let her down, is a tough one in itself ... and affirming her position to the rest of the family.
Which includes Anjali ... yes he told Anjali that he loves Khushi, he also told Anjali that she is as important to him as Khushi and that things will never change between them. To his credit, I will say that he really means that ... Anjali will always be a very important person in his life ... and definitely the most important ... AFTER Khushi. And that is the way it should be.

It also means that he clarifies Khushi's position in front of Mami and Akash ... he hasn't seen much of Akash's reaction yet, but he has seen Mami's on two occasions now ... he needs to put his foot down there. Khushi is his wife ... if he really means his tall speeches at Preeto's wedding and with his employee about respecting women, especially his wife, he should make a start at home. Khushi is hurt by Anjali, and also by Mami's attitude ... by telling Mami what he told Nani ... viz that he knew what a scoundrel Shyam was, and he and Khushi got married to save Di's marriage, might just change Mami's attitude to Khushi somewhat - at least it would be a start.

14. let charity begin at home for ASR...right said Dia.....those words are very demeaning and worse still....others only looking askance...nahin chalta.....

the writers have now gone in to that mode that it has stopped to bother anyone...

And let Arnav show up himself for the man he prides himself to be.....after threatening her with dire consequences how about facing some music at his end too?

15. Sandy hugggssss bey!!!

I was starting to feel like a defence lawyer for ASR. So completely agree with you that she has made a lot of assumptions above all the assumption that all will be fine if she walks away. Not her fault for assuming that that's how she is.... Wanting to spread happiness. She has always felt obiliged to bring happiness so that she was needed. Today she wants to walk away so that raizadas specifically Di by extension Arnav is happy...

She forgets that it's her who brought the happiness and smile in the first place. It's for her that he danced not for Akash's wedding not for Di happiness but for HER.

Even Devi Maiyyan helps them who help themselves and that's what Arnav wants her to do ... Fight! Fight for them for their love and for their relationship. Arnav may not be aware of the depth of damage Anji has caused but he is aware that it's not just the contract but also his Di that khushi has walked away for...

In her zidd to ealk away she will only end up pushing ASR to reveal the whole ugly truth not just about Shyam but also about their wedding. This will only hurt the whole family the people she loves.... And above all ASR will be hurting the most!!!

When he says let buaji aunty and uncle come we can let out the truth.... Is he really threatening her??? I thought he was merely stating the grave fact. Aaj nahi toe kal you have give them a reason for you to be back and i know you will keep making up reasons... I know you enough khushi, you will even take the blame and slack for it but i fon't eant you to take alone so let's not play games anymore let's tell the world the truth so i am there with you to shield you and protect you if anyone points a finger at you....

Oh dear! I have really gone out on a limb for ASR today.... Devi maiyyan raksha karna!!!!

I have said it before and saying again - I so hope the 6 month contract does not come out in the open coz it's too personal to this couple and it should remain so.

Rekha
Tum yeh san aise hi khatm ho jane dogi.... Hamari shaadi...
Is it not an indication that the contract means nothing, that he wants her with him for always, that he wants to fight....

16. Rekhu,

He knows Di is not all ok but he does nto realize Khushi has walked out for Di's sake. Nahi toh day 1 he would have caught hold of Di and made her face upto it all. He would have also sat Khushi down and explained.

He thinks he has handled the Di angle for now and gradually matters will get better.

Actually I am wondering whether Khsuhi at this point is clear abou what is in her heart; she seems so conflicted - She wants Arnav to undo the hurt by mention of contract, she wants to keep Di happy, she wants to shield her family, she wants happiness to return to Raizadas but how?

What does Khushi need? The things she does nto acknowledge even to herself - Arnav

Saw a bit of Vicky Donor in the weekend and there was this one scene where teh father asks teh daughter - What is it that upsets you?
- that he was a sperm donor
- that he hid it from you
- or that the reason you have no childen is actually because you cannot have them while he is perfectly healthy in that regard. The fact that the flaw is in you and not him?

Will wait for that last scene to playout but I got this weird feeling yday that Arnav is saying he will come back when the family is around so that he can say something to them. Not sure if Khushi will finally tell her family that Shyam's truth came out at RM and she came home lying about Buaji's ill health so that Di could feel better. Or whether Arnav will bring Nani to speak to the Guptas and also to Khushi.

See the sense of betrayal comes out to family / loved ones when they feel that you knew and you did not consider them close enough to share.

Khushi is so deeply entangled in the series of stuff she has said to different sets of people that all it will take is one tiny tug for teh whole web to shake. Buaji already told Anji she was fine. You thin kshe will nto show it in her manner o Arnav when he goes back. Yes he did not exactly tell her Buaji was unwell but neither did he disabuse her.

Arnav is depending on the trust he and his siter share but their little white lies to each other is eroding that stronget of trust and relationship.

I am again not saying one is right and anotehr is wrong. ANd if h has hurt her so has she, each in their own manner.

But I come back to that one Qn for Khsuhi "How do you like your eggs scrambled ANd except for a manner in which eggs are cooked I get all kinds of answers from her.

Arnav may have triggered hurt but she continued to get hurt becayuse she let him because he mattered and still matters to her. Did she get hurt by Shyam said or did to teh extent she did by Arnav? No.

Arnav has accepted the need but he is still missing the emotional nuances, laad pyaar. His brand of pyaar is teh possessive physical desire. La always needed to hug him and kiss him. It was at the very end that he saw her stand up and think about his family over her - but did he guess it at first no. To him he is right now worried because she just does nto seem to need him. And if she does not need him ,why will she stay with him? Everyone who stays with him needs him iin one way or the otehr. Di needs his support, Nani needs him to take care of her, Mama, Mami and Akash need him to run teh busines and maange house. Khushi needs him to stay away?? But how can he allow that when he sees how she craves him and his intimacy. SO what is a lie, what her eyes tell him or what she tells him?

Or does it hurt him that she does not seem to need him as much as he needs her - at least she does nto show it

17. UJ,

I don't have any doubt that ASR wants the shaadi for ever...woh thodi na issue hain...

I am saying if he recognises that it is more than the contract for Khushi(which i am sure, he doesn't) he should be talking to her about her actual fears....hain na?

UJ, its not about going out on a limb defending ASR...

ASR is a complex character....he speaks little, bottles up too much, lets anger speak his real emotions in a twisted manner....toh yeh sab toh hoga, he will elicit extreme reactions from time to time.

There are times i see reason for his actions and sometimes i don't....
He was at his rudest yesterday in a long time but i still did not find it odd when i made one mental adjustment in my understanding of ASR....that he does not process conversations of an emotional nature very well unless they are spelt out for him....

he feels Khushi is treating the marriage as a short term contract with an expiry period even after all that they have shared here
That she posed the same question to him a few days ago hasn't escaped his notice..its just that he is unable to comprehend her actions....if she is affected by him and loves him (he can see that clearly) why does she want to walk out of the marriage is his reasoning....

This rightly so, if u get past the simple thing that ASR does not value the emotional angle of this contract business..to him its a word and they have progressed beyond the words as per his dictionary....

Phew...this is the closest i will probably get to a defence of ASR...all his actions are not that decipherable and i value my limb LOL

18. UJ,

Ya when he said let your family come and lets tell them the truth, to me it was less a threat and more a matter of fact aaj nahi toh kal yeh toh hona hi hai unless ofc u were planning to lie again.

Ya he wants her to fight for herself and for them. But he is not giving her teh right reasons. He just needs to give her a whiff / vocal assurance of how she compeltes him and voila she will be his tigress all over again. They are again playing a "If I am doing it all, then why do I need to say it"

Anav does nto appreiate he depth of Anjali Khushi discord hence his total negligence on that pat. He thinks Khushi is fighting the contract cos he hurt her with those words of teh contract on that night she was leaving. So he is trying to tell her, I am desperate, I need you cme to me but in his aggressive style.

His "Mere paas waapas aa jaao" yday wrenched me - till then he faced away but right then he turned looked her in the eye and said it.

All he has to tell her is I need you, will you still give up on us? to her face and see what happens.

The next ime Di comes up I want Khushi to lose it and say Yyou married me for Di, I am leaving youi for Di and let it all pour out like it did that day on th way back to RM from GH

Khushi is confused as to what exactly she wants ...

I AM VERY CONFUSED as to what everyone wants!!! Myself most of all :)))

23. Stumbled on this blog and I have been watching the show - SI and BS are fantastic actors. You girls rock

Recently read reports that India ranks last in the G-20 as a safe place for women. Then the report that half the country's adolescents (boys and girls) think that it is perfectly acceptable for the husband to hit the wife...In my denial I thought it must be the illiterate and lower income groups who still carry that thought.

But on the heels of that thought came the fan girls reaction to ASR - the yuppie, well educated girls ..who think ASRs treatment of Khushi is perfectly acceptable...and I wonder what makes it so..

ASR has been tru to character from day one- there is no justification to his actions other than the fact that he has the power and he will use it ..there was no justification to his destroying a girls reputation on national television other than spite , Lakshman ne surpanakha ki naak kati thi, yaha ASR ne Khushi ki - Khushi koi shurpanakha nahin - but the girls think ASR is a hero..

His treatment of Khushi all the way to the misunderstanding was horrible - there was no reason for that behavior..the guy lets the girl fall with the lame answer that there were boxes underneath- and the fan girls swoon that he ensured the boxes were there ???

He makes her stand all night in rain - to satiate his pride ...and the girls swoon cos he save her from a car???

The MU and later - the girls get the excuse that he thought she was a homebreaker ....so all's is acceptable...

But now after he thinks he has acknowledged his love - he takes sadistic pleasure in threatening her with destroying her family home...and even that is ok with the fan girls and it is Khushi's fault that she is playing hard to get ...

And Khushi- the CV's have not given her a spine ...thoda uchalti hai but she never has the gumption to take him on fully...and ASR treats her like a circus ki bandariya - thodi dheel do so she can jump and tumble to entertain him and then reel her in with threat against her family ...

ASR tells her to trust him - and then turns around and thinks he can threaten her into complicity - if she did not think the worst of him would she believe his threats and comply ?

This is the most chauvinistic serial you can get - give the heroine a pretense of independence but insidiously make her a puppet of a manipulative, cold-hearted mega man- with money and looks and all his behavior is acceptable...

thoda sa pyar dikha diya to sab zulm jaayaz.. why does that sound so familiar of the umpteen cases of domestic abuse...

Sorry about the rant ... but I had to get it out somewhere...

24. was addictedly reading a fanfic.. and found a set of words that made me tear up.. wanted to share with you.

(He heard the knock on the door. He yelled for the person to come in, taking a two minute break from his phone call. He needed to work today. More than he worked any other day. It was a day he detested. The only day in the year when his mask slipped and the boy he had been surfaced.

He barked orders into phone and slammed it down as the memories threatened to drown him.

He remembered the knock and he turned his head slightly to look at who it was.

Khushi Kumari Gupta. The girl was driving him crazy by being everywhere. He wanted her to go away. He didn't have the energy to deal with her today.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know that your Amma-Babuji...I saw the photo..."

He hated the sympathy he saw in her eyes. He didn't want it from anyone. Not from her. Especially from her. He averted his gaze and turned away from her.

"You have your mother's eyes." She said tentatively.

He felt the anger rise at the mere mention of his mother. He had more memories than he could handle. He didn't need her to highlight more.

"Please go away." He kept his voice calm.

He heard her silence and felt her hurt.

"I can understand how you must be feeling at the moment."

His control slipped. Her words hurt more than he should have allowed them to. She hurt him more than he allowed anyone to, even in her sympathy.

He rushed to her. "What do you understand? Tell me. What? Do you know how it feels when you light your parent's funeral pyre? Do you know what it feels like when you come back home afterwards? Do you know what it feels like when you step into the home you know they will never come back to? Do you know what it feels like when everyone says they know what it feels like but nobody understands anything?"

He saw her recoil under the impact of his loud, angry words. He saw the sheen of tears in her eyes. He saw them spill over.

"Your sympathy may work on Nani and Di. Not on me. So save it." He was hurting her like she was hurting him.

"Get out."

He slammed the door behind her.

be warned, it is a looong story..with poignant flashbacks like these. somehow addictive..i've been sitting night out with this one.

///and now as i signed in to share this with you, i saw the anon post/rant above. yes Anon, this is the story of a sadistic, masochistic MCP.. and i like it that way.. there is something terribly cliche'd yet endearing about such a guy being totally taken over and splintered by this rabid emotion called love. ..and its not even love.. this curious soft corner that he has for her, his reactions to his inner turmoil have a fascination to it that drags female audience in droves.. they want to see what ticks in the brain of a man like that. they want to see how this soap bubble of a girl can hurt his seven layers of armor.. without even trying. the audience are almost fanatical about this serial because it gives us reason to think.. and the presentation is so sarcastic that they give out reasons for me to LOL every episode. the multiple layers in the story is not just about the man and his treatment of the woman.. and that is why we love this story..

and what you said is right..india IS a country where it is socially acceptable for a husband to beat his wife.. so this whole thing does not seem so far fetched.. as you said, "thoda sa pyar dikha diya to sab zulm jaayaz." especially if it is in a serial/movie.

27. Dia,
*HUGS* for your beautiful edit.

My thots:

“WT!” was my first impression after the episode.
Not any more. When I thought (and thought!) about the epi, actually it was a serious episode in this light romantic track. And the track seemed to suddenly gain momentum.
Didn’t get to rewatch, basically trying to get in to ASR’s dimag. May be I’ll deal with him the last.

Khushi- perfectly in character as predicted. She will try her level best to keep out of his life.
That “hum waaapas nahi aayenge”, sounded like a promise to self that her smile will not come back even if she goes back physically. And she is not interested in sitting down and talking things through, she knows it is not going to make any difference. Nothing can be done about getting Anjali to trust her and accept her again. So, just let it be. At the end of 10 days, anyway, everyone’s headache will be over.
(Last time she said 13 days, I counted 13 working days and it was Aug 10. This time I counted 10 actual weekdays, and it is still Aug 10. Will we get a ME on 11th?)

Anjali:
I think it was UJ, who had written the exact same dialogue of ‘Chhote ab Chhote nahi hai or something.’ I had pooh poohed it then, now I bow to your wisdom. (or whoever it was.)

Now I feel like hugging the CVs, because they are keeping Anjali as real as possible.
I did not mind that dialogue from her at all, because the situation made it sound like a sensible response. I hope she is not going to follow it up with a cry baby act. I’d prefer it if she left the newly weds alone and went about minding her own business.
Even that may be perceived as emotional blackmail, so I want her to try to be nice to Khushi for Chhote’s sake, because even if Chhote has changed Di has not changed. I want her to show that magnanimity to embrace ‘Khushi and Chhote’, even if she feels Chhote has changed. Di’s love COULD BE unconditional. And K will be the first one to pick up the expressioin of true love and unhappiness behind Anjali’s facade. That should strengthen her resolve to walk out; after all ‘Di is still not happy, she is just trying to hide behind a mask and that mask is never going to allow Di to connect with Chhote again. Will Chhote pick this up?
Any other time he would have. Right now he has his hands full with trying to make Khushi feel at home, so Di’s mask will take some time to register.
(CVs, if this is the way Anji will go, please…. no tears, no fbs. Just try a soapy monologue from Anji.)

1. Arnav:
Hmm… Mona, you had written in your response yesterday that ASR has SOME idea about Di also being the reason. I was not sure how much I could agree with you. That split second surprised look on ASR’s face as he saw Di taking a step backward, did it really register or not?
May be it is buried under Khushi’s ‘smile’ now and will re- surface slowly?

ASR’s thought process:
Tum yeh kar sakti ho Khushi?
Khushi’s response: Aap sab kuchh jaante hain.
ASR: Yeah!Hum kuchh nahi discuss karenge, if that’s the way you want it.

1. Why is he taking her back home?
A: If Arhipathy works and like Mona said, ASR is aware that the problem is in RM, is he taking her back so that he can face the issue with her there and not let her run away from things. He has realised the fact that she is happy and relaxed at GH. And he knows mami has been making things tough for both the sisters.’Di’- he may have registered or not. But by now, I am hoping he knows the ‘contract’ is not the only problem. He has seen her tears; her love for him in her eyes, in her actions: He KNOWS she loves him. Does he still think it is her EGO?
I loved the firm look in his eyes as he talked about not playing any more games(Even on Tuesday, I wondered why he was so serious over the phone as he told her to open the door and collect the money.) I feel he is HATING it that he has to use force over and over again, just because she is not willing to communicate. But he wants them both to face this together. He CANNOT allow this bond to break.

2. So, how is he going to tackle the problem?
A: Watch out, Mami! ASR is in a slapping mood. You’d better stay away from ‘phati saree’ for good for some time. I hope you are busy inbhestigating Anjali bitiya.

Di- If Anjali is going to wear a mask of acceptance which only Khushi can see through, things are going to get really interesting. I hope he does not sit down and confront his Di and try to talk things through again, it is only going to make things worse.

So, wait and watch.

(Personally, I am happy that Anji’s MU on Chhote has come back. That is ASR’s quota of MU. The last one was so short lived, I was actually disappointed after the bro- sis talk and Anji’s acceptance. This, I feel is a real STRENGTH of the script, because the SW did show that beautiful bro-sis bond and later showed it shaking under Khushi’s white lie.BEAUTIFUL! I really love this whole segment on Anji if I’ve been following it right.)

Shyam:
Only Questions here.
Isn’t it time to bring him back in to my thoughts?
Am I the only one missing Abhaas?
Is HE really coming back in person?
Or is he going to just possess Anji thru his blank calls and make her his medium?
Will he dare to appear in front of ASR?

What is he coming back for?
(They seem to be creating quite a mess among themselves here with no help from him.)
What more can he do?
And this brings me back to my old favorite Q:

IS THIS WHAT SHYAM REALLY WANTED? IS THIS ALL A PART OF HIS PLAN?

Come back, my shatir dimag villainwa! Show me your true colours!

29. Rekha,

I think on similar lines as you.

Dia,
Arnav is a man who leaves his past firmly behind and walks on. He can see she loves and feels for him, calls herself his wife then where is the problem?

Her insecurity of him - he is still clueless about. He thinks he is attacking that but since in all his efforts he has been harping about himself, it is not making the desired impact. FOr once if Khushi asks him "What do you want" and he says You it will set about correcting matters.

It will have to change from You need to come back to me to Without you there is no me. She and her wishes need to become central to the theme of getting back together. Because she never fell out of love with him and neither did she ever want to leave him. And she definitely never wanted the marriage to end after 6 months.

Or has his memory of that terrace night erased temporarily the memories of her feelingss about relationships and marriage? He reaction to a live-in and how it would be demeaning for a woman to live with a man in a relationship that has no name. Because a marriaeg is a deal of emotions and hearts and not a barter for happiness of another or a conditions riddled business contract.

But what I wonder about is how they are both unravelling each other yet again. He tries to make her correct her present so her future is safeguarded. He makes her face up to the ramifications and how she will explain to her family about why the marriage ceased to exist.

The trouble I see here is Khushi offlate has been lying to keep the peace for all and sundry and this is where she is going to have trouble with people believeing what she says because all of them have seen the couple being cosy and comfortable; a proof of all being well. And if indeed she was forced then how could all have been well and so normal?

Meanwhile Khushi is making Arnav face upto the hurts that his words have caused her time and again. You mean nothing to me on Diwali night. You will have no status as my wife. This is all just a contract and but for Di...Every hurt she faced, she is projecting it back on him. He is going to thin ka outwad wedding with all the trappings will melt her but that will go the birthday way. All she wants is for him to say, I want you to come home because I need you, because you complete me - to her face, looking into her eyes for then she will be able to tell if he means it or not..

30. Beautiful edit Dia seeped in pathos. My heart went out for Khushi all over again as it did while watching yesterday's episode. I saw many posts on IF wondering why she is refusing to understand him while he has understood and accepted her. The truth is it is Arnav who had not fully understood or maybe he underestimates her pain because she appears resilient and bounces back after every blow life and he deals on her. She cleverly hides her scars and puts up a brave front but that does not mean those scars aren't there. The guy needs to know just how much damage he has wreaked in this girl's life and since he is dense, I guess she needs to spell it out for him. So want an emotionally charged scene where she pours her heart out, much like the scene when she submitted her resignation letter. Maybe it will be on the last day of the contract.

1. Yes, I also saw a lot of posts saying Arnav has understood her, while she doesn't understand him. I too felt it was the reverse.

She has poured her heart out on two or three occasions, right? The guesthouse, after the marriage and then the bridge confrontation ... She has basically closed herself off after the last time he talked about the contract, and then Di's withdrawal. So cv's have left it open as to what exactly is bothering her the most ... We need another emotional outburst from her for sure.

2. Opti,

Khushi is not refusing to understand Arnav. I think she is refusing to understand herself, her heart. What her heart truly wishes under all the layers of indebtedness that she feels to various people.

Her life right now has become as ciled as a jalebi and is being fried in hot oil right now. Once it is completely fried and dipped in the chaashni, it is only thn that her true essence and fragrance will be known to all.

Have you noticed how Anjali has shunned DM since that day of her hubby's ouster. No pooja, no vrat, no aarti, nothing. It is almost liek Khushi did when after she got married she told off DM for standing by and se his havoc being wrecked on her. At last that day DM was with her but Anjali seems to have been abandoned by maiyya for now.

Arnav has just begun to understand the extent of hurt he has caused her. Rather since the day she rescued him, the journey began. But being on unchartered waters, unless someone gyuides him, his learning will be slow but he still learns on his though, only agonizingly slowly. I want Khushi to start answering his questions. Hard hitting facts and no sidestepping issues.

For some reason that scene from Nottin Hill flashed in my mind
"After all I am just a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love her.."

But yesterday's bitwa's one line "Tum waapas aajao" reminded me of a song from a serial on SAB TV few years back - the name is Love story and was directed by Anurag Basu, bold for that times, was a musical and it had this song which I lvoe to core and have it on my mobile which I listen regularly.
The song is Teri yaadein

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnz4-r6PKOM

Pyari hai duniya saari, maine hai tujhpe waari
Dil mein, mere dil ne tujhse, yaari ki baazi hari
Tere khayalon mein, khayalon mein…
Bas tum meri nigaahon mein, nigaahon mein…
Bas tum wapas aa jao, mere paas, tum sadaa, wapas aa jao
Mere paas, tum sadaa… suna mera jahan, bhoola main hu kahan
Jaane hai jaane jaan, tera rahoon, Piya…(piyaa)…
Wapas aa jao, mere paas, tum sadaa, wapas aa jao
Mere paas, tum sadaa… piya tera jiya… (piya tera jiya)
Piya tera jiya… (piya tera jiya)… tu hai kahan
Tera karuun intezaar, tu mere dil ka karaar
Itna hai aetbaar, manoonga na main bhi haar

And this is again one more song from the same show
and It reminded me of Khushi today. Her her side of pov.

32. Arnav needs to recall what Khushi told him about what marriage means to her all those months back when he confronted her about her interference in his relationship with La. She said that marriage is a blessing given by God. It is the most sacred bond in this world. When a person promises to spend the rest of his/her life with the other, when a person does not want to separate from their significant other even after death, when a person prays that all the troubles, all the pain his/her mate may encounter befalls on them instead and if need be, is willing to give up his/her life for the other. It is with this promise that the marriage is complete. Has he even given one of those promises in their contract marriage?

Hope he enunciates every promise which signifies marriage to her before it is too late.

He already feels it and yday made a satrt with regards to indicating how the thought of th marriage ending in a shot gun manner struck his very core.

To Arnav marriage will be sacred because it is sacred to Khushi. She believes in it and he believes in her.

35. Dia, Sandy:

When did she morph into this person hiding behind facades?

Do you think that if Khushi was more secure about her own position in the house, about her marriage, her place as Mrs ASR, and her place in Arnav's life and heart, she would feel more confident about being able to deal with Anjali and her resentment?

To me, Khushi is not INSECURE. She thinks of herself as dispensible, but that is out of the goodness of her heart.
Our heroine is not weak to hide behind facades. That is ANJALI.
Khushi will speak her mind out. She has already told him that she feels partly responsible for Di, and now she has closed the topic for discussion, because nothing can be done about it.

He tried once, that ended in the rose carpet, with disastrous results. That is why she decided to do it ‘her way’ though she had to build up some lies for it.

What I am writing down below is a repetition of what so many have said .

The last 5 minutes of yesterday, wasn’t it everything we all wanted? He proposed a permanent marriage, she said that is not the issue here, you know very well what the issue is, you know everything and now there is no point talking about it.

1.(ASR holding her chin):’Khushi, you can’t lie to me’
“Bache hue das din yahaan rehna chahti ho taaki tumhe hamari shaadi se Azaadi ….”
He is implying that she is the one who waiting for the 10 days, not him. He wants it lifelong.
2. “Khushi yeh sab hone dogi tum? Hamare shaadi ko yunhi khatam hone dogi?”:
Again she is the one who wants to end it, not him.
3. Khushi: “Shaadi nahi ek dhoka tha… ek sauda tha”
Dhoka- we were fooling both our families.
Sauda- My sister’s happiness in return for your sister’s happiness. There was only hatred when we entered this so- called marriage.
4. ASR: “itna easy hai tumhare liye?”- C’mon, I know you better than that. I know you want our relationship to be permanent as much as I want it.
5. K:”ab hamare in sab baaton se koi matlab nahi hain”: Why don’t you understand? Kuchh cheezein badli jaa sakti hain. Unfortunately this is the only think I can change. ALLOW ME to do it not for your Di, but for YOUR sake.
6. ASR: “Koi matlab nahi?” -How can you say this?
7. K:” Aap achhi tarah se jaante hain ki hum ye sab kyun kar rahe hain. Aur sirf yahi nahi, aap sab kuchh jaante hain. Iss liye hum isske bare mein nahi baat kare to Accha hoga”:
I know you can read me well- my every thought. You can even predict me so well. You know me in and out. So you know why I am doing this. In fact, you know EVERYTHING. Is there any point talking about things we can’t change?
8. Then the dhamki and “Ghar chalo mere saath. Das din ke baad kya hoga, usse mujhe koi farak nahi padta.”: I am still confident that I can win you over. (Does that mean he is going to tackle Di NOW, or does he think it is only K’s MU of the situation. Di is ok with us now.)

This is exactly what UJ has said in the post above on top which starts with ‘The last 5-7 minutes left me a myriad of emotions.’
When I read through the rest of her post… it is the future story of IPK as I see it! What leads on to RTR!

‘I want her to tell him, I've been prepared for that day to come since the last six months, you have only started worrying about it now? ‘:
Khushi is not a great planner. I don’t think she has a clue as to how she will handle that aspect. This is because she never thinks of herself, that does not make her a wimp. She can manage to find real true happiness ONLY when her loved ones are happy.
She entered the contract for the sake of Payal and her family.
Now she will stick to the contract part for ASR and his family.

This is precisely why she lands up with ‘har jawab ke saath do sawaal’: she NEVER plans ahead.
....And why ASR has to come out with dialogues like, "stop behaving like a 9 year old child"!

5. Insecure, dispensible ... semantics, isn't it? Somehow I can never forget that Khushi is an orphan, who has grown up with the knowledge that she is an outsider in the house, and has to earn her keep, that she is beholden to her adoptive family, and never really belongs. And that colors her reactions to Arnav as well ... that she feels she is not as important to him as Anjali is, and that he can do without her, but not without Anjali. Because he and Anjali are related by blood, they belong to each other ... she is the outsider.

Okay, let her not tell him she has been prepared for that day ... let her just ask ... why are you so worried now about the contract breaking and what my parents will say? Where was this concern when you threatened to break Payal's marriage every time I wanted to leave? What would you have told them about Payal's marriage breaking?

Basically I want Khushi to stop playing the accused, and turn the tables on him ... :)))

But their conversation ... agree with your translation ... nice one!

6. Su,

Nicely done with the interpretation of what was said!

Khushi has always been behind a facade - of smiles, happiness, joy. Khushi is never weak. Because hiding behind happiness and smiles is tough. To laugh when your heart cries needs a lot of strength. And it was this himmat of Khushi's that attracted Arnav to her like a moth.

Irrespective of how she and her heart were feeling. I still ecall how ANjali once said, Khushi ke aane se sab kuch kitna khusimay ho jaata hai, unke tih naam main hi khushi hai.

But that happiness has been gradually flickering and getting extinguishing. Do you realize how RM was happy till Khushi had her happy mask on. But ever since her happy mask has been wrenched away, RM has been plunged in despair and unhappiness.

I get a feeling that both Arnav and Khushi are going to reach a point when they will both realize that to get back for Shyam for Di's sake Arnav did not have to marry her - he did so for his sake; his hurt! And she is leaving him not for Di's sake but because she was hurt that after all that happened, he still could not just give here a simple "badhaai" I want you Khushi, with me, humeshaa...

“The answer is telling Anjali that yes, things HAVE changed, I'm married now, that doesn't mean I don't love you as much as I did before, it just means that now I have a partner who loves you as much as I do, and we both will look after you together ... earlier, you were special only to me, now you are special to both of us.”

I feel Anjali is not worried that Chhote loves Khushi more than her. She is NOT jealous that Khushi has taken over her position.
She is worried that Khushi has changed Chhote so much that he has started keeping SECRETS from his Di.
Yes, she is worried that the sibling relationship has got affected. She is more worried, “what has this horrid girl done to my brother? Why can’t he just tell me that he wanted to spend time with his wife? I CAN understand that. I am willing to give them space. What is it with all these lies?
WHY does he have to lie to me?”
Well it is still ‘Khushiji’ for now, wonder when it will turn to ‘horrid girl’!

If you notice one thing, Anjali never follows up her Arnav- Anji fbs with Arnav- Khushi fbs.She does not compare.
This is why I feel she is not jealous or possessive.

1. Su,

Anjali's statement today ... ab hamare Chotey ... hamare nahin rahe. Hamare nahin rahe.

Not possessive? Agree to disagree on that one ... you feel no, I feel yes.

Chotey has changed ... he is not her old Chotey ... that much is indisputable :)))

And following Arnav-Anji fb's with Arnav-Khushi ones would be just too creepy ... that would truly make the bond incestuous ... no way will they do that! But twice they have shown that Anjali was happy to let Arnav go ... once for work, once because Buaji was sick ... and the hurt came when she saw that both times, he was actually with Khushi ...

Maybe not possessiveness ... maybe more because both times she felt he lied to her ... but the first time, he told her the truth immediately. Then why the second time today is she quick to jump to the conclusion that the first time was a lie? Because this time so obviously is one? Or because she wants to believe that? Wants to believe that Khushi is not as good as she claims to be?

IS she willing to give her brother and his wife space to be with each other? Then why the extreme upset when she saw them celebrating Khushi's birthday in the privacy of their room?

And the most important reason why I feel Anjali will be grey ... light or dark ... is that if Anjali is all-forgiving and loving and completely accepting of Khushi, WHERE is the impediment in the Arhi love story?! :))) Arnav tells Khushi she is his wife, contract null and void, Anjali accepts Khushi happily ... The End :)))

2. Su,

I am with you on your reading of Anj. She is not possessive of her chottey. If she was she would not be willingly encouraging their closeness before. I don't think Shyam's absence has changed her acceptability of Arshi. What irks her is Arnav resorting to lies (as she sees it) to court his wife and yes, it appears to her that Khushi is responsible for this change of behaviour. She was confused who to believe when the skeletons came tumbling down. She trusted both Khushi and Shyam but obviously one of them was lying. Khushi's white lies has only weakened her position and create a fertile ground for Shyam's seeds of doubt about her character to take root. If she tries to distance Arnav from Khushi, it would be for his good because she may consider Khushi to be a bad influence on Arnav and not because she is jealous or possessive. She may be many things, including insecure, low on self confidence, stubborn, shallow, hyper sensitive, little insane and non- confrontational but I can't seem to accept her being deliberately manipulative, jealous or possessive.

As far as yesterday's episode is concerned, I am in agreement with Dia. Didn't approve of Arnav high handedness even if it was with good intentions. It is high time Arnav spells out loud and clear what Khushi means to him.

I also feel that Khushi has already prepared the grounds for her return to her maiyka. She will never let out Arnav's hand in the contract marriage. She will take the blame on herself, the reason why in their earlier visit she went about irking Arnav in her family's presence. She knows her family thinks the world of him and she will keep that image and will accept the responsibility for the failure of their marriage. I guess she hopes that they will feel that she is Sanka Devi, the crazy girl who cannot hold on to a good man.

Delete
3. Dia,

She was upset with the birthday celebrations because she does not know it was Khushi's birthday (she wasn't around when Arnav informed it to the rest of the family). It was the day after the big showdown when Arnav claimed he trusted Khushi and threw Shyam out. Would it not appear as though they are celebrating Shyam's exit to a girl with a weak mind? As to making Anj grey just to advance the story, I feel that limiting the canvas of what this story can really bring about. To me this is more than a mere love story between Arshi where there has to be a third spoke to keep the couple apart. Even if Anj accepts Arshi, there is still the task of rebuilding her life. This itself can carry the story for a good 2-3 months, especially if Arshi cannot agree on how to go about it. For instance a new man enters her life and Arshi have a disagreement on the goodness of the guy or even if they are one on it, Anj is not willing to take the plunge given her bitter experience and how they play cupid and rediscover their own love for each other. Then there is the mysterious past of the siblings and what is Khushi's link to it. This too can be an intriguing track. There is also the possibility of introducing the mysterious Dhruv who was mentioned in the pre-production and initial episodes of the show. The dynamics between Arshi and this new character can also be an alternative track. In fact making Anj grey and keep her constantly putting spokes between Arshi would only make this another saas bahu show where Anj would be the like the jealous and possessive saas. I can do without having to watch that crap.

4. Su,

My BIGGEST issue with this train of thot is if this so called MU was only meant to be circumstantial, where is the real conflict in the story?

it makes Khushi look all silly...she made a mountain out of a mole hill and went away and caused all this pain to herself and Arnav becos of how she imagined anji perceives her as the bone of contention...is that what u r saying?

no...it can't be this lame....almost making Anji noble and Khushi stupid..sorry for my strong words here

Anji feeling some resentment for Khushi is the most natural thing...in fact, i am wondering why is she is so quiet about it? after all, her husband lusted after her....if she has accepted that and even if not, all the more reason for her to resent Khushi becos she has trapped her chotte...

the other question of her accepting that Chotte loves her more than her.....i don't think we have even reached there becos if u think someone is not right for ur loved one, the natural instinct is to protect ur loved ones from more damage....why accept and rationalise...."okay with ur love but don't keep secrets from me"

Delete
5. Rekha, am completely on the same page as you!!!

And I also agree, Anjali being resentful of Khushi is a very natural feeling in the current circumstances ... it does not mean that she is turning into a villain, it merely means that she is open to manipulation by Shyam, the real villain.

Opti, hurrah! Your posts are no longer going into Spam! :))

Delete
6. Rekha,

Haven't they thrived on MUs so far, however silly or lame they may appear? Wasn't Arnav's MU silly for a man of his intellect? He did not take one step to investigate and get to the bottom of the MU, did not reveal the true reason for his behaviour and put both of them through hell for 4 months. So could it not be Khushi's turn to MU Anj this time?

I fail to understand why it should be the most natural thing for Anj to feel resentment for Khushi if she knows all the facts. It is Arnav's fault in not laying it all out for her at the first opportunity (after the MU on his early return to court his wife).

As to her being quiet, it is because she is still wavering in her judgement about Khushi. She has seen so much of goodness in her for so long it is hard to assume the worst immediately. At the same time there is her hubby who also was the most ideal man on the face of the earth till her bro told her he is not. She has always trusted chottey's judgement. So she was confused and did not want to act one way or other but Khushi's lies now are now building up her own doubts about what she sees and what she thinks she knows. She has to tread carefully because she cannot afford to lose chottey. Remember she has always been non-confrontational even if she feels one way or the other? So if she is convinced that K is not good for her bro, she will try to pry them apart but in a more subtle way rather than open way. The motive here is chottey well being and not for her own personal vendetta. Once things become clear that it is her hubby who is the crook, I doubt she can still come in the way of Arshi just because K was his love interest or K is loved a lot by chottey.

We'll have to wait and see how this pans out. Grey Anj or misunderstood Anj.

7. Opti,

This was spot on
"She trusted both Khushi and Shyam but obviously one of them was lying. Khushi's white lies has only weakened her position and create a fertile ground for Shyam's seeds of doubt about her character to take root."

That why I wrote that quote above - I am not uset that you lied, I am upset that I cannot believe you anymore.

Anji can be manipulative Opti (sigh why cant you and I agree on more stuff bey)just like her brother but where brother uses business and money and power, Anjali uses tears, emotions, fears and past. I am going to see how they bring out the past especially in her context. Both she and Shyam exploit weaknesses to bind people to them. She for a good outcome, he for his selfishness but in each case there is a self-centredness that exists in each of them. Why would Anjali have to come down and write a cheque to Shyam's credit card before the collection men? Why those contant calls to keep asking him "Kahaan hain aap" as if checking up - it is a way of showing low trust whereas she alswyas claimed to have unshakeable trust on him.

But like you said, Shyam is going to gain a upper hand simply because Khushi and Arnav would have weakened their positions with lies.

I recall a story where a girl loved her father to the hilt and he called her his princess. And she would be hoisted and twirled and loved by him. She enjoyed all teh affetion he lavished on her. SHe used to love being asked to wear the special dress h had brought her when his friends visited. One day he decided to leave them for another woman he had fallen. The little girl decided that her mother was at fault. She decided that her mother ddi not love her father enough and had pushed / sent him away. So one day once she returned from school, she wore the favourite dress and cycled down to where her father now stayed - starry eyed and waiting to be enveloped in his arms. The door opened and she saw another little girl about her age, waring the same dress like her (pattern and colour) who said her father was not home. And the little girl finally broke, her heart broke and she wept for the loss of the dream that her dad had woven her.

Anjali to me seems like this little girl.

Or perhpas like the Chutki character played by Konkona in the movie Laaga Chunai Main Daag - who until she saw the hard truth before her eyes led a blissfullyy ignorant existence ignoring the clues she had from time to time. And that day there was a sense of betrayal - of having not been confided into and a sense of anguish at having not been able to support her sibling!

8. Dia,

‘Chotey has changed ... he is not her old Chotey ... that much is indisputable :)))’

YES. YES. YES.

‘Hamare Chhotey’ wouldn’t have done this.
He would’ve told me, Di Can I stay back at GH because Khushi is here. Not try to make me feel good by coming in for one hour and feeding me kheer and then returning to Khushi. Is he trying to show me sympathy? My old Chhote would’ve told me that Buaji is fine, and not sided with Khushi in living this lie.
This is the new Chhote whose actions are governed by Khushiji and she feels she doesn’t have privacy here, so she dragged him to GH with her. Why? I did not even kick up a fuss when I saw that private cake cutting (I don’t think she knew it was K’s b’day. No one mentioned it to her.). I just retired to my room and cried to myself. Don’t I have the right to cry because I felt lonely. I wanted to share my sadness with my bro, but there he was- completely oblivious to my pain. I am not saying that ‘she’ is responsible for everything that went wrong in my life. But I needed some time to adjust. And I think I am adjusting. I am looking forward to my baby now, putting all those horrid abortion thoughts behind me and I am really willing to embrace life.

Did she move out because she sensed my discomfort that night with the rose carpet? But I had a nice talk with Chhote and he reassured me. And, I even tried to be friendly as she was about to leave, but I was not yet willing to get back to our old togetherness, because this is the ‘other woman’ in my life. Kaun sach bol raha hai- I have no clue. For Chhote’s sake I hope Khushiji is telling the truth. I definitely need time to swallow all this. Isn’t it enough I found the courage to speak to her after all this?

So what is this new pack of lies she is feeding me? Yeh ladki kabhi sach bolti hain kya?
And she has managed to brainwash Chhote- he is Khushi’s chhote now.

“WHERE is the impediment in the Arhi love story?!”

As always, SHYAM.

Isn’t he supposed to be coming?
What is he supposed to do if Anji is going to hog the villain’s role now.(DB made a new deal?)

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

9. Rekha,

It makes Khushi look all silly...she made a mountain out of a mole hill and went away and caused all this pain to herself and Arnav becos of how she imagined anji perceives her as the bone of contention...is that what u r saying?

No No No.

Khushi is not silly. She is very perceptive when it comes to relationships. She did not imagine it. She saw mistrust in Anjali’s eyes that night of revelation. She sees animosity in Mami’s taunts. She knows it shouldn’t have come out in the open the way it did. It could’ve been dealt with privately instead of humiliating Shyam and in turn Anjali in front of the whole family(She did it only because of the kidnap). And here, even mami who knew about kidnap does not believe that Shyam kidnapped ASR She has NO PROOF. Plus she feels partly guilty for Di’s misfortune. She does not believe that Anji is possessive about Chhote. It is just that she said she will not trust Khushi ever again and in spite of that if the marriage continues, the bro- sis relation is bound to break. Because she is going to see Khushi thru a coloured glass all the time. If time heals her wounds and Anji can trust Khushi sometime in life- well, she is ready to make the marriage permanent then.

Right now, she needs to get out of RM and something tells her that Anji may not be able to forgive her.

‘all the more reason for her to resent Khushi becos she has trapped her chotte...’
I feel:
This has to happen. It is probably there in the subconscious level now.
This is what I feel Shyam will feed her to make it come out in the open.

I liked your Q.
Never thought about this angle.
Actually Khushi should just sit down and talk to ASR and Anjali, but she has to do things ‘her’ way. Silly girl! Oops!

(Plus she also saw Anji take that step backward in spite of trying to be nice to her. She can see that Di is making a painful effort for her Chhote here.)

10. Actually I think there was a dialogue that night of revelation where Anjali tells Khushi that she cannot trust her again. And the same night K witnessed how Anji wouldn't allow Chote near her. K just formed all her impressions from there. She does not realise that Anjali's happpiness also lies in Chhote's happiness. And that Anjali might adapt.

11. Opti,

if arnav had taken any pains to investigate the matter, yeh serial itne din chalta hi nahin....uske brains ko freeze mode main rakha hain so much so that abhi bhi proof nahin mila...trust pe zinda hain banda....

thats another matter.....on why should she resent if she
knows all the facts...

where did i say she knows all the facts......i only said if she has accepted that shyam has lusted after her....thats the not the same as knowing all the facts...it does not have to naturally cause a acceptance or have empathy of/for the one who was at the receiving end...it may make the situation easier to understand...thats all...

To me anji is not negative/balck just becos she resents Khushi in the circumstances...I would consider her negative only if she wilfully made attempts to alienate Khushi from Arnav even after knowing shyam's actual sins....(thats not going to happen.... a long shot)

39. uffff ! at last I can access blogspot.com

Greatest shiddat of all IPKians had been "ASR in love". Not a pretty thing is it.

Over the past one year KKG has thought him the meaning of love. Made him believe it exists. He now proudly sings -

"What is love? Baby don't hurt me no more"

It will take KSR to teach him how to love. He is yet to learn that. He loves his way but he needs to learn that's just not enough. When he had learned his lesson he will proudly sing -

"I wanna make love to you!! Like YOU want me to. This feels so right."

Can NK make these two stand together take a pic and make a large frame for their bedroom. They looked delicious in RB dress.

Best look for both post-wedding.

Beautifully written... Yes totally khushi needs to realise and accept that 'aap ke wakah se nahi aapne jo kiya uske bawajood bhi she needs him'

It also made me think isn't this track similar to the KN track in many ways.

1 arnav was kidnapped, khushi kidnapped her feelings herself
2 despite khushi telling him not to go at the airport he left, despite arnav telling her not to go she went.
3 khushi did not know the real reason for kidnap was because she got his signature in the papers, arnav does not know the depth of the reason for khushi leaving is his happiness (di's happiness)
4 once khushi realised the real reason she went all out to get him back. She did not then care if she could prove her innocence to him. Similarly, once he realises the real reason for leaving is his happiness he will go all out to get her. He will then not care what he has to do to bring her back.
5 she realised her love for him when he was KN. he will realise that she is the most important person in his life by the end of this track.
6 he realised he needs her by the of KN, she will realise she needs him by the end of this track.
7 she put her life on line to save him, he will put his reputation and image in front of his family and hers hers on line to save her.
8 there was a huge confrontation at the end of KN track when accusations came out. There will be another confrontation at the end of this track where those accusations will be clarified for khushi and sealed for VLR.

1. UJ,

Khushi accused Arnav of trying to play God. Trying to write happiness in everyone's lives, isn't she making the same folly?

The last time Khushi was at a crossroads, she asked DM for an ishaara. In the state of mind she is, if she aks her DM, tell me what shoudl I do, how do I go on I am sure she will get her answer for she wil llook into herself.

She already knows she needs him and she is scared about how she will live once she has no claim n him with teh contract ending - will he still consider her his wife?

Yes after yday epi even i got this feeling that Arnav will put his reputation on the line in some manner. It will be good if he fesses up to GH juntaa about what happened at RM and how Khushi feels guilt and hence she came to GH. But teh fault was his to begin with. Because she will neevr put his rep on the line with anyone just like he will not stand wif someone maligns her rep.

Khushi's fear is the next time Di and she are in proximity and Di has a meltdown Arnav will again find it easy to blame her rather then try and understand what happened. But at the same time she needs to understand that if boundaries have been set, she would be wise not to overstep them however much in goodness without a second thought. Khushi knows Arnav but she does not knwo ANjali. She does ot know the demons that plague Anjali and hence her decisions for Anjali will always be based on half knowledge.
