Dadiji hears that Garima is not Khushi's real mother, Khushi's parents died in car accident, and decides abruptly she doesn't need to meet Garima tonight after all. Arnav left understandably flummoxed ... first bipolar Di, now bipolar Dadi ... poor guy!
Garima even more panicky when Khushi gets Arnav's calls, and decides she needs to retire to bed ... Khushi and Buaji equally flummoxed ... Khushi manages to tell her that night visit is postponed to morning, much to Garima's relief.
Am loving the frequency of the Arnav-Khushi phone calls ... after months and months of non-communication, these two are making up for it by floods :"> Seems like even if one sneezes, the other will be on the phone to say 'God bless you' :)
Also love the casualness of the calls ... as they chat while busy with other things, Arnav getting ready, Khushi scurrying around the house ... as though talking is such a regular, necessary part of life now, all other activities are carried on around it ... Juat hope this communication is here to stay.
So Arnav tells Khushi to get ready, the R parivaar is ready to leave, Khushi tells him he can't come ... arey vaah, bitiya, Akash came for his own shagun, you forgot? And Arnav says, with total haq, who's gonna stop me?! :)
Unfortunately there is someone to stop him this time ... Stopwa ve Dadi. Arnav bitwa is not amused.
GH ... some hide and seek between Garima and Dadi ... Dadi keen to meet Garima, Garima equally keen to not meet Dadi ... today Garima won. And 'shagun' ka rasam happened relatively peacefully ...
Khushi in new suit, looking very pretty but didn't care for her hairstyle today.
And Arnav bitwa makes his appearance right on time ... just as Dadi announces the couple cannot meet after the haldi, and Khushi looks totally dismayed :"> :) And bitwa proceeds to refute all Dadi's arguments very coolly and logically, he didn't come for the shagun, he came after ... Dadi didn't say anything about that ... and haldi is still a while off, so he is free to meet his biwi now ... which he would like to do in private, thank you very much, excuse us please =))

DDLJ made that one line famous ... the engagement ring is worn on the ring finger, because the nerve from there goes straight to the heart ... lost count the number of times I've been asked if that is true :))
As always, the last ArHi scene made the episode ...

Precap - put in to calm the fandom ... Garima managed to avoid Dadi today, the shagun went off peacefully ... but what is going to happen at the roka?
If Dadi is a believer in tradition, then whatever happens at the haldi, the wedding cannot be called off ... so will Garima try to stay out of sight till the haldi is done? And won't Dadi create a ruckus about it?
In Maryada, BJ wanted to call off the wedding between Aditya-Priya, had to back down in the face of Aditya's determination, and eventually made sure he stayed out of sight till the wedding was completed. Will the same thing happen here? Will Dadi give up hope of calling off the wedding, and concentrate on keeping Arnav Khushi apart after it is well and truly complete?

nyc episode...ODB's arguments were quite technical...garima's turning more and more mysterious...loved the way ODB said "kya tum abi meri nhi ho" and ODG replied with a natural smile instantly "hum toh aapke hi hain" and then her realisation...

the whole fandom seems to be worried about that fact ... one thing is clear geeta ... they have to get these to married properly from every aspect ... past, shyaam, DD let them be .... they cannot afford to cheat audience again ... there had been too many of those - hut, milan and Mrs. ASR promo. Audience din't get what they were promised too many times. This time they will have go full out no more adha adhoora.

Consummation is always held few days or weeks after the marriage even in absolutely normal circumstances .... always in tellyworld. Its TRP gold just like wedding and they cannot throw it together. Usually reasons are foolish or due to misunderstandings and ArHi is heading toward BFTP&P(present-anji). A natural one I found was SGP where the girl could not accept that her father had got her married into such a low class family and exactly the guy whom she has treated like a fly just a few days back.

Garima leaves to get shashis medicine.
Dadi repeatedly inquires about garima.
Rasam starts. Everyone happy. As it ends bitwa entry marofys.
Tells dadi that he is not breaking any rule he is after shagun and haldi has not yet started. He says he needs to talk with biwi alone.
Dadi goes ballastic whereas nobody finds it odd but are worried about dadis reaction. She ask what will happen after haldi, anjali ensures that arnav won't meet khushi after haldi. Mami says "6 mahine say room mate hain, ek minute mein kya tofan khada karenge"
khushi not happy about getting dadi riled up again. Hubbie cutely informs mein ne kaha tha na mujhe koun rokhega. A resigned biwi says "Arnav Singh Raizada"
she informs tomorrow will be rokha and he asks whats the fuss about. She informs him that after the ceremony she will be his. She teases her "lyoun ab tum meri nahi ho" she promptly answer "hum toh aap e ke hai lekin..." and gets what he is trying to do.
The end. Precap garima din't meet dadi and is hell worried that rokha is just the next day.

ReplyDeleteHow do these guys manage this - how can they manage to make someone are pretty as ODG look so bad (comparatively!!!) - i hated the dress - what the hell was the toffee wrapper like thing at the border and the beaded bodice - seriously very very yucky with no style - and the hair style was again so bad - just t\let her be in a lose pony or open hair with no clips = not more clips!
BUT now both Sama and Aaru like it - S0 am shutting up!! *zipping mouth* - waiting for Gargi's verdict!
Every one else however was wearing really nice stuff For once Payal's Saree was really pretty without being the uniform style she is subjected to
And have to say - the only thing to Dadi's credit - she wears really elegant stuff!!

Was really excited the story was moving - now again back to elongated rasams and sambhars for trps :( - did not want another typical SP serial = looks like we are headed for it (Please CVs i want to go on an IPK diet and eat my words - so do surprise us next week!)
Have to agree, I didn't care for Khushi's suit so much either ... it was just nice to see her in something new and better fitting than usual. And smiling ... with some of her usual spirit back.
DeleteI am actually looking forward to all the rasams and wedding festivities, Mona ... let's have a week or so of light hearted feel-good episodes before the rona dhona starts ... today was a lighter episode with much less drama, and it was quite a relief after so much tension the last few days. Am so glad they didn't leave us with a tense cliff hanger for the weekend!

DeleteI caught a glimpse of the promo of Behna with Manvi and Jivika wearing the most God-awful multi-colored jewelry for some wedding ... so obviously fake big multi-colored stones and UGLY to boot!!! And horrendous bright loud clothes again multi-colored ... at least most of Sanaya's clothes have only two colors, not seven or eight! Be thankful for small mercies!

Well, I liked the back-slap bonding between NK & Payal...I love their jodi as devar-bhabhi. Atleast there is someone with whom Payal can open up and be herself.

People on IF and R&R are talking about Khushi looking gorgeous. True...she is beautiful but something I found amiss today...I mean she looked more beautiful at the time of Payal's ceremonies...maybe the puffed up hairstyle didn't go down well with me. Her golden and purple combo was awesome but today I would have preferred her in a pinkish outfit befitting the occasion. Kuchh soona soona tha!
Maybe so many rasams are lined up...its just the beginning. So we will have many more gorgeous outfits to lay our eyes on.
NK is such a cutie-pie...simply perks up any scene with his presence. :)
When I write "Her golden and purple combo was awesome"...I'm being polite and have chosen the words carefully. 'Awesomeness' is abt the color combination and not about the make of the dress...It wasn't to my liking!

SAma, me ditto you on the clothes ... I liked the color combo on Sanaya's dress - though the bodice need NOT need those stripes, a plain bodice would have been just perfect. But the bump on the head did jar ... I didn't know it was the fashion ;)
Having said that, Jivika in Behna sported an even bigger one ... she looked like something out of the 70's in the engagement episode - yes, I took a look at it after that horrendous jewelry filled promo! And the episode was sooooo boring ... Mona, if you want to see what a real SP shaadi can be like, watch that! The entire episode from what I saw, was dedicated to re-tracing Chimp's and Monkey-face's love story by almost everyone in both families, in prose, poetry, song and dance ... blechhh!!!
Hamara IPK is TONS better!!! Though I wouldn't mind seeing a re-enactment of the ArHi story, I have to say!!! :)))

SO - if ODB's parents died 14 years ago and KKG's parents 10 years ago - chances of Garima being the other woman is very remote. So ODG's parents have to be involved and Garima is probably the only witness
Mona, from what khushi described roka seems like an engagement function...and haldi ceremony is done 2 days before the wedding....where the bride and the groom are applied turmeric + sandalwood paste....

Sagai is the engagement ...
We had the shagun and roka as one ceremony ... not even a formal ceremony really, just going to hubby's parent's home and giving the shagun ... and a sagai about a month later, which was a bigger do, with guests and ring exchange. Here they seem to be calling the roka a sagai.
Just a thought from what you said above ... ODB's parents died fourteen years ago, Garima brought Khushi home ten years ago ... did she bring her straight after the accident? Or was Khushi is an orphanage for four years?
And even more outlandish thought ... was Arnav's dad looking after Khushi for those four years because he had caused the accident of her parents? And that was what was MU'ed by everyone, that Khushi was his illegitimate child? This made Arnav's mom commit suicide, thinking that he not only had an affair, but was also supporting other woman and her child all along? Thus making Khushi indirectly responsible for Arnav's mom's suicide? And chachaji was responsible for furthering the MU for Dadi and Mom, because he wanted them out of Sheesh Mahal ...

DeleteRoka is what some people also call as 'kachchi khol bharna' in some parts of the country. Traditionally in india bride and groom did not exchange rings. Exchanging rings is a western thing and has been adopted for ling time now. However, traditionally if the ladkawalas like the ladki they would do a small ceremony called Roka ( as in rishtey dekhna rokh do, humein aapki ladki pasand aa gai). During roka, the ladki is given nariyal, dry fruits etc in a handkerchief placed in her lap. The ladki is also made to wear a ring more like engagement but in traditional India the nanad makes the ladki wear a ring not the ladka.... Also during roka ladki is given payal and bichiya.... These are old traditions.... When guy and girl did not meet till the day they got married. My parents' generation....
Haldi, in most of the hindu weddings haldi starts from the day of kumkum (when the invite is sent to lord ganesha to come and attend the wedding and let everything go smoothly). Generally haldi is done for odd number of days so 3,5,7 etc.... Until the day of the wedding haldi chadhai jati hai so haldi is applied from foot going up to head... But on the day of the wedding haldi uthari jati hai meaning haldi is applied from head down to feet....
Once haldi has happened traditionally the wedding cannot be cancelled under any circumstances. Again this is a tradition Don't know what happens on TV or reality now. After Haldi the girl is not allowed to leave house, if she has to then she should not go alone and she has to carry namak and laung all the time....
Roka can be done months before the wedding. Haldi just a few days before....

thanks ladies - so the haldi is what we call a Manjha - basically the girl is confined to her room for beauty treatments - uptan etc - earlier it used to happen days before the wedding - now its normally just a day or two before the wedding -
DeleteIn UP we usually have the bride in very plain cloths (either pink or yellow) - very simple and these she stays in till the wedding - so that after all the mallish, uptan and simplicity, when the girl comes out as a bride - she really does shine

Could it be that he actually died first but left behind such a situation that she could not handle it and HAD to kill herself (though have to admit - she comes out as very week then - a mother who knows her kids have no father taking the easy way out and killing self)
- Also she seemed all decked up at Anjis wedding - not like a widow (by Dadi's old fanged ideas) - So could it be that she was murdered and it was made to look like a suicide??

Khushi...Again Sorry I loved the hairstyle...very young and what loads of stylists are doing right now and it suits SI...the suit I was torn...liked the style and fit and really liked how she wore the dupatta but cant say I cared much for that golden 'patta' on the bottom and the yolk was alrightish...and why wasn't it ironed? Anyway SI was looking very pretty!...
The episode...I think Dadi is a fab actress and who knew- given a role even Garima is a great actress...Got to hand it to team IPK they cast very well...except Payal- either the script or her acting prowess aren't allowing Payash to develop properly...
Utkarsha...Wow ...give her a good script and step out of the way- she own the room when she has good dialogues...her one liners really were funny:-)- And true!!
I like NK too...funnily enough he has more of a role than Dogra...Today NK made me laugh out loud 'If you don't come we won't give shagun to the wrong girl! dont worry'....and I like how Arnav is also warming upto him now that his own love life is finaaaalllly on track...(for the time being)
Something I noticed...when Manorama does a Manorama and says something snide the rest of the family just looks exasperated or embarrassed but DD looks at her with real distate...where does she come off waltzing into their lives all of a sudden and acting like the moral police and staking her claim? Its nani's house she's just a freaking guest!
I liked the little 'blink and you'll miss it' look Anjali and Akash share when Arnav walks in - they've known him since he was little - Sorry DD but Bhai/Chotey does exactly as he pleases always has, don't take it personally....
What I didn't like was SI's acting...sorry Dia please dont throw me out but like Barun Sanaya's strength is her eyes and how well she emotes but like Barun needs to enunciate I feel SI needs to tone down her expressions...sometimes her reactions are to OTT..when Arnav walks in her 'oh my gosh' expression was too much and she does this quite often ...feels like acting then not very realistic...
gargi true khushis hairstyle is the in thing ... i used to get headache at school seeing so many bumps ... we had to put a ban on it because it was going out of proportion.

DeleteI thought Sanaya was fine in that scene, Gargs ... where I felt she was a bit off was when she walked out with the tea ... she was all happy and smiling, not shy at all ... but then later I thought that she knows these people, she's been living with them for the last six months, so shyness would have been a bit contrived ... I can always find excuses for Sanaya/Khushi ;)
But that bit you're talking about was cute because she raised her eyebrows in response to Arnav's 'hi' ... I found that really cute!!! Happily saying 'hi' back silently :))) I found her expression more OTT in that dining table scene we all discussed a few days back, when she wore her kurta ulta - there I did feel she was OTT. Not so much today :)
What I wish the director would pay attention to ... Khushi should have touched Nani's and Dadi's feet when she entered and put down the tray.
Arnav was looking damn good ... I like the way they have moved him slowly from dark brown/black shirts to lighter colors now ... as the Beast emerges from darkness into the light of love ... very nicely done ... and the guy looks damn good in a good well-fitting suit. Shiddat for haircut ... or is that a waste of a shiddat ... it's not gonna happen!!!

DeleteAgree with you. Felt khushi was a bit OTT in this episode. Would have preferred her to be a bit shy. Dia, although she has lived with these people for 6 months, she has not really had a proper wedding, she will become the real bride for the first time and that shyness of shagun happening for the very first time was missing.... I would have preferred ODG in a saree for her shagun instead of that really distasteful suit. Din't get me wrong the colour combo of her suit was good bit the material was bad. Somehow Anji always ends up in better satees then IDG... :(
Would have preferred ODG to resist a bit when ODB holds her hand and leads her away as a result of her shyness in front of the family.
Plus didn't get the point so ODG stops him from calling her KKGSR saying abhi Singh Raizada banane mein waqt hai then why is she still sporting the sindoor and mangalsutra. Either you are wearing these symbols of a married woman and consider urself married or you don't wear them and start afresh....
Since that scene has not played out fully yet wonder if ODB will tease her about wearing his sindoor and mangalsutra and refusing to be called KKGSR. although i am sure she will not stop wearing it fir a single day no matter what anyone says.
Wonder if dadi will say 'yeh rivaaz hai ki shaadi ke pehle ladkiya sindoor aur mangalsutra nahi pehenti'.... To which hopefully Arnav will say 'she is my wife and i am getting married to her again for her sake'....

Today (Arnav and Mami) and a hint of (NK and Garima) stole the show for me.
Feel really bad for Payash they should get a more prominent role, they should be young and newly married...I sort of feel bad for Payal...look at her jethji he's all guns blazing claiming his wife and doing as he pleases...too bad baby bro is such a mommy's boy:-s (Sorry Rekha and Shweths)
And the final note on the episode...LOVED that smug little victorious 'Gotcha' smile Arnav had ....&.... how easily he arrives. makes valid excuses. takes wife's hand. excuses them and without a worry in the world leaves the entire family agog:-)
SN: I liked that Khushi was still wearing her mangalsutra.
SN: I really hope we have some cute Arhi moments of missing and memories:-)...I know the drama is going hit the roof soon but for just a few weeks can we have 'thud' scenes like the ones we had during the Payash wedding...sweet and teasing and now a little grown up and accepting too?
SN: I want NK to insist they do a bachelors party...dont care if its just the three of them going out and Arnav ditching them to sneak in and meet Khushi I just want a scene with Akash and NK convincing a hesitant but not unwilling Arnav...:-)

Parallel tracks or Moments
The supporting cast is absolutely loved both for its onscreen and offscreen persona.
Now you have a wedding happening, instead of a full fledged parallel track, how about
the following moments:
1. BROMANCE -
Akash/NK/Arnav...some lighthearted teasing.
A crack about Aranv getting married twice to his first wife.
The inability to organize a bachelor party since Arnav already considers himself Married.
2. Raizada Brothers -
Small moments between Akash and Arnav - Two brothers who have practically grown up together and are now even more closely bound together cos of the Gupta Sisters.
A simple moment of them recounting their own love story with the respective Gupta Sisters.
Arnav recounting how he has incurred the wrath of Payal during the GH incident and jokingly warning Akash to be very careful.
Arnav explaining his role in Payal's first wedding to be called off (IF he can tell NK, he
can sure as well tell Akash), on why he kept quiet about Shyam.
Akash expressing his happiness at finally being able to see the happy Arnav and appreciating Khushi's role in the same.
3.Gupta Sisters
Moments between Payal and Khushi...they can come up with so many things including
Payal trying to figure out how and when did Khushi and Arnav fell in love as they used to fight so much.
Some light hearted, emotional moments between the sisters.
4.Mami - Nani
Mami grudgingly acknowledging that the Gupta Sisters are probably the best choice for Akash and Arnav before turning to her catty self...toned down of course..(can we stop with the KBT & PS..thing please)

Getting emotional with Nani wishing Aranv's mom was present to see her Son's wedding
his cool attitude towards Dadi (Oooh, I am waiting for that one) cos he somewhere holds Dadi responsible for what happened to his sister and her kids.
I have deliberately kept Anjali, Shyam, Dadi, Garima, Bua & Shashi cos I guess they will be for the drama with odd emotional moments thrown in between and those drama scenes any how get fabulously written, it is the small moments like the above that have a tendency to get missed.

Average episode. did not like Arnav teasing khushi infront of the whole family. Specifically did not like NK pointing out khushi's suit being ulta. Would have preferred Arnav or Nani doing this in private.
Loved Arnav-Dadi confrontation.
Arnav - First he tells dadi he does not like anyone mentioning his father's name in the house, on friday he tells dadi he doesn't want anyone to mention Shyam in the household.
Dadi - nahi devyani, iss bar nahi, iss hum Arnav ko humein jawab diye bina muah pher ke nahi jaane denge. hmmm....
So 14 years ago, Arnav knew something his dadi did not know. Arnav did not answer dadi's questions then either. He knew something more about the other 'aurat' perhaps. Maybe he did not know the other 'women' but he knew the situation which led to his mother's suicide. He then confronted his dad about the situation, possibly dad owned up to his mistake in front of Arnav but could not take the guilt and suicided. Arnav never answered any of dadi's questions to shield the other 'woman' as he knew she is innocent but dadi will not understand that....
Khushi's parents died in an accident. what if the accident was staged by Arnav's father? May be Arnav found out that his father had deliberately staged an accident which got teo innocent people killed. What if then Garima confronted Arnav's father about this and hence dadi remembers Garima...
Aaj phir ek baar aap galat paksh ka saath de rahe hai, phir ek baar unki raksha kar rahe hai jo galat hai.... My guess Arnav sided with the other 'woman' protected and shielded her from his dadi/father. But why? because Arnav is a righteous man. He is nani's grandson and nani's daughter's son. Nani is righteous and presumably so was her daughter and hence so is Arnav. He realised that the other 'woman' was innocent and shielded her.
Tab galati dad ki thi aur aaj shyam ki hai. Shyam went after khushi and Arnav MUed her. Arnav's father went after the other woman and dadi MUed the other woman holding her responsible for her son straying.
Monday, 13th August
1. Arnav and khushi do not do the aarti... why? blooper or intentional? Not part of the aarti, not part of the family circle soon. Will A-K leave RM soon?
2. khushi looks beautiful in her purple saree. no wonder bitwa keeps looking at her during pooja.... specially 'har khushi har gum tujh se' and bitiya looks at bitwa 'vaade aur karam tujhse' beautifully done. Bitiya is the key to his happiness or not and for bitiya all her promises are to him. The one prson who she loves beyond everyone and everything.
3. SI looked absolutely stunning in the red ghagra. fab expressions in that sequence by both BS and SI. loved the song for the sequence as well. 'tumhara hu mai aur tum meri' so true, having been brought up by loving caring families, both have always felt an inner loneliness, a void in life that could not be filled. but now that they have found each other that void seems to be filling in, the emptyness slowing vanishing, finally belonging to someone who is truely theirs. Each finding the love, the companionship, the strength, the fulfilment of dreams of life, love and happiness. 'Sach yeh ikrar hai, sach yahi pyaar hai, baki bandhan hai sab jhoot ke'.... how true, relationship are defined not by birth but by love. Dil ke rishtey kabhi kabhi khoon ke rishtoin se jyada pakke hote hai, afterall a husband and wife's relationship is dil ka rishta... That is not relationship where is there is love, trust and understanding then it will whither all storms and stand strong.... so loved the song selection for the seq.
Dia loved your take on ASR's urgency for SR and khushi's insistence on pheras although I fail to understand if she was okay to completely surrender at the hut then what happened today? That day the 6 month contract very much existed yet she was oksy to give in so what stopped her after knowing that the 6 month clause does not exist any more. Yes, now that the clause does not exist she wants the pheras and the works coz of her ideals and principles but surely then according to ideals and principles she should not have surrendered at the hut either knowing the marriage is temporary anyways.
ReplyDeleteAgain, when Arnav drags khushi to the terrace to take pheras, notice that Arnav and khushi are on one side of the proxy havan khund and dadi on the other. Arnav holding khushi in his arms with full haq and dadi very angry on the other side. Again to me it felt as if even the re-marriage will be a struggle for Arhi where Arnav and khushi together will have to find all odds (read as dadi) to get married again.
Tuesday,14th august
Finally khushi gets the much needed words.
Loathed he rest of the episode with dadi accusing khushi of everything that she is not. Stooping much below what arnav accused her of. Moreover, arnav accussed her in private, harsh words and allegations levelled against khushi in private, just between bot of them but dadi makes it a point to involve the whole family and buaji to defame khushi.
SN: those CCTN cameras - has shyam gotten them fixed or Arnav? Everytime khushi is in trouble specially with dadi Arnav appears... Loved the fact that he stopped buaji from slapping her. 'meri patni ko haath lagane ka adhikaar maine kisiko nahi diya hai, haath uthana toe bahot door ki baat hai'.... loved khushi's ILU dammit.... although I though her confession was a bit rushed. She has confessed her feeling for the first time and althgouh Arnav does not need the words, words they are and CVs should have taken more time to let the confession finally register in their hearts. They could have shown khushi packing her bags in their room and a small convo between Arnav and khushi after the heated discussion where she confesses her feelings and he promises her that he will make everything alright for her, for them.... hugs her tight one last time before she leaves...
Shyam - jab tak hum zinda hai arnav aur khushi kabhi ek nahi ho sakte... but arnav aur khushi ek toe defo honge, does that mean shyam zinda nahi rahega? anyways glad shyam is back, the best cupidwa ever. Dadi separate karene ki koshish karegi and shyam's plans as always will result in Arhi coming closer and closer... :))))

Dadi - really not liking dadi. Swati Chitnis great actress but dadi's character unsuitabe for 21st century. Don't like people blaming only women for things that go wrong in a household. If things are right, my son did it and if things go wrong my bahu si at fault... WT WT WT! Can't understand why nani or ODB are taking crap from her, she was not there for 14 years when AA needed her, she ran away from her responsibilities and now why is she hell bent on proving that she is the elder one of the family and disturbing AA's life again... Don't like her. but then again she will help get the past out and also help in making arnav realise exactly how much pain and hurt arnav has inflicted on khushi.
Garima - Don't think she is the other 'woman'. dadi's reaction would have been much stronger. Dadi is also relieved khushi is not garima's daughter. soche ka padi...
Arnav's apology - he hurt her time and again over a period of more than 12 months and apologised for everything in less than 12 minutes I mean seriously????
Can we move past slip and catch please and have some husband wifely mature talk between the two?

UJ, about Khushi almost giving in in the hut, I think she got carried away by her feelings too. Remember she had been through hell trying to find Arnav, under stress about not telling the family, the fear of re-capture, of being found, the danger ... and then he reminds her why she set out to find him in the first place ... because he said ILU ... and she discovered her own feelings.

(If ODG was not with Garima the first 4 years - Was she under the care of some Raizada? (def not Raizada Sr coz he was dead then- but she would have told ODB something about it – or it would have been mentioned somewhere in the narrative)

The Past is all about Khushi and Garima, and this was mentioned as far back as the introductory articles, for Garima's introduction, that she has a mysterious past and hence is very touchy about what society thinks.
Mona, regarding timelines, I wonder if the cv's are sticking to Khushi's age as 18? Didn't they mention somewhere about her being 22/23? Either they're changing the entire sequence of events to have happened fourteen years ago, including Khushi's parents' accident ...
Or the haadsa happened fourteen years ago, when Khushi was 8, Garima brought her to Shashi when she was 12 ... either Garima herself looked after Khushi for four years after Khushi's parents died, or Khushi was in some undisclosed place and Garima found her after four years and brought her home.
My surmise ...
Dadi accused Garima of trying to trap her son, a married man and made life hell for her ... Garima's expressions when Dadi was saying this to Buaji about Khushi seemed to indicate that - Garima had faced the same taunts earlier.
Dadi went further ahead and exposed her as the 'aurat' who had tempted her son ... Garima had to face a lot of flak from society for being involved with a married man, and her sister took her in ... Khushi's words to Payal, 'aap toh hamari jiji ho, aap toh hamara saath dogi'.
Arnav's dad heard this and was furious with Dadi ... he confronted her and told her he loved Garima, and it was Garima who was not responding after knowing he was married ... and that he would leave Arnav's mom and get Garima back because he loved her.
Arnav heard this so he knew his dad was at fault.
Arnav's mom heard this and killed herself.
Garima refused Dad, he went running after her, and caused the accident which killed Khushi's parents.
Garima disappeared with Khushi.
Dad killed himself.
Arnav furious with Dad and with Dadi ...
Story needs a lot of refining ;) I have another couple of versions, if I have time will post them :) One involves Garima and Dad being sweethearts, Dadi turning down their marriage and getting Dad married to the daughter of her best friend, and Dad never having loved Arnav's mom at all. Dad continues to love Garima, Garima disappears from his life knowing he is married. She reappears by chance and Dad announces his intention of leaving Mom and marrying Garima, and then the whole exposure thing happens.
Like I said, need more thought and detailing, but you get the gist :)

DeleteAlso was watching all the old episodes and two things were very clear - (1)ODG's makeup then was sooooo bad - all brown and white eyelids!!! seriously!!!
2 - despite being an orphan - ODG did not suffer like ODB - she really had a very loving family - never let her feel as an outside - a father who was so fair and caring and loving!! and a sister who really doted on her and a mother who was truly hers - only in desperation did she once say - you have proven you are not my kid - but she takes it back as soon as she cools down!
It would be unfair if the way this family treated ODG was ever considered a burden (ehsan) by her - she has to know they were not doing a duty - they really loved her (her adopted family was truly hers)
ODB also had a loving family but no direct mother or father figure - nani was the righteous but strict matriarch and mama mami though loving not equal to G&B - plus he was a young vulnerable and very emotionally charged 14 year old then!

Trying to put some thoughts tigether....
Delete1 dadi looked disgusted with woh 'aurat' in her first episode but she is not disgusted with Garima. Knowing dadi, if Garima was woh 'aurat' she would tell Arnav about it and break off Khushi and Arnav's rishta. It would be easiest to break Arnav's rishta with khushi by letting arnav know that Garima is the woman in question. Whether khushi Garima's real daughter or not, just the fact that khushi has been brought up by woh 'aurat' would not allow dadi to let the shagun happen that easy.... So IMO garima is not woh'aurat'....
2 if Garima was indeed woh 'aurat' dadi would definitely remember the name of woh 'aurat'. Dadi has a recollection of garima's name but she is having to think about it. So again IMO garima has strong links with woh 'aurat' or that Hadsa but she is not the woman in question.
3 garima looks scared of dadi. Very fearful of dadi but she does not have a guilty look. The look Garima is sporting is of running away of hiding something of mystery rather than guilt. It's more about hiding the skeletons.... She has possibly faced dadi's wrath before and doesn't want to do it again....
4 dadi possibly knows woh 'aurat' or she has heard of Garima and knows that Garima knows woh 'aurat'. Arnav knows that woh 'aurat' was not the only guilty party. His dad was guilty as well but he doesn't know anything about who this woman was and doesn't recall Garima either. Likewise Garima does not recall Arnav or Anjali. So although Garima is involved only dadi, arnav's dad and possibly chacha knows about Garima's involvement.
5 garima knows for sure there is no blood relation of any sort between Arnav and khushi otherwise she would absolutely not let the wedding happen. But why is dadi relieved that khushi is not Garima's real daughter? Would dadi have bigger issue with this wedding if Khushi was indeed Garima's real daughter? Why?
6 dadi now knows that Garima is khushi's masi. Dadi seemed ok with it. The urgency to meet her passed as soon as she was told khushi is Garima's niece. So the woh 'aurat' may not be khushi's mum either coz if dadi knows/has heard of Garima and if the other woman was khushi's mum now dadi know khushi is garima's sister's daughter so dadi should have a bigger issue that khushi is woh 'aurat' daughter.... Or 14 years ago although dadi had heard if Garima, she did not realise that the woman in question is Garima's sister???
7 while history is repeating itself, ODB says 'mai tab bhi sahi tha aur ab bhi sahi hoon' does he mean that his dad was lusting after the other woman. Dad probably tried to take advantage of the other
Woman. Arnav's mom caught his dad and other woman in compromised situation. MUed other woman and suicided.
Delete8 Arnav probably heard a convo between dadi and dad and realised his dad was the guilty party while the other woman was just a victim. He confronted his dad and his dad could not take the insult from his son and ended his life. Or possibly seeing Arnav's dad's vulnerability, chacha took advantage and killed his father staging it as a suicide.
9 even better chacha staged everything. He created a situation where Arnav's father would be found in a compromised situation by Arnav's mom on Anji's wedding day. Possibly others found out about this and Mallik family's name got muddied. Anji's wedding broke. Arnav's mum could not take and committed a suicide. Arnav's dad felt guilty that his wife committed a suicide coz of him. Moreover Arnav MUed his dad leading dad to suicide.... Although in this situation the blame of dad's suicide would rest quiet lot with Arnav and he being a righteous man would never be able forgive himself for what he did to his father....

UJ, I also thought the same ... first I thought Garima was the other woman, but after seeing Dadi's reaction to her name, I changed my mind, am confused now. Unless Dadi did not know the name of the other woman, but knows the face ... and all she knew was that her son was in love with a Garima. So wants to confirm whether this Garima is the one she saw.

Alternative theory is of course that Garima is not the other woman at all, but she knows where the woman is, and Dadi knows that, hence wants to meet her. Which makes me feel that there must be a child involved, OR Dad is still alive and with the other woman ... he faked the news of his suicide after his wife died. Otherwise why would Dadi be so keen to meet Garima?
Why did Garima get so upset hearing about Mom's suicide?
This plot is getting more complicated and twisted than a jalebi ...
But yes, Khushi and Arnav are definitely NOT related by blood, otherwise Garima would have stopped the rishta.

DeleteRead UJ's comment on Haldi above ... apparently, for traditionalists, the wedding cannot be cancelled after the Haldi. Besides, Arnav bitwa is in totally rebellious mode ... Kaun rokega mujhe ... don't think even Di will be able to stop the wedding now, and I don't think she will even try to - she also knows her brother. She knows if he is so determined, he will just walk out of the house with Khushi, as he threatened to do once before. As far as he's concerned, they are married ... full stop.
And now that Khushi has also confessed her feelings, and sone pe suhaga has told him, hum toh aapke hi hain ... wild horses, aandhi toofan, nothing is gonna stop him now.

DeleteWelcome to the virtual Arhi special coffee shop. Traditionally weddings aint cancelled sfter haldi. Teleland mein kuch bhi ho sakta hai. Having said that I feel the BFTP track which becoming more and more evident that either Garima or Khushi's parents or both played a huge role in that hadsa. Although A and K share an atoot vishwas, have confessed their feelings and understand each other reasonably well, for this bond to withstand the blow that either khushi's relative were responsible for the hadsa which took ASR's parents or ASR's dad being responsible for khushi's parents' accident whichever way, the bond needs to be extremely strong.
The relation and their love has just started to find feet. I think they will get married before the full blown BFTP. this is just a gut feeling that the shaadi will happen alright before the next major blow. Of course there will be minor issues with dadi around but our cupidwa shyamwa is back so not to worry. Last time his efforts resulted in a hate marriage paving way for love. This time his efforts will only lead to a love filled wedding.... :)

For those who can't see the pictures ... Khushi in sky blue lehnga, green dupatta with gold dots, very similar to the purple she wore on Friday, and red blouse ... eeks!!! TWO colors is fine ... WHY THREE???!!! What is wrong with Sanaya's stylist??? And the red blouse looks as though it's the same one from the grihapravesh and Raksha Bandhan.

Yes Mona this blouse is different from GP/SR one. The one she wore on RB was the one she of SPT. This one is new. Leads have been getting new cloths of late. Even ASRs cloths are not of the horrific shinny materials. Thank God for that.

DeleteGeetu, I watched that after you posted this :) ... true, she also wears tri-colored outfits, but the colors seemed better co-ordinated. Maybe it's a new trend. If you see the pics of Sanaya in the link Sama posted below, her saree has three colors - blue, green and shocking pink, and it looks good. The peacock blue and green combination is stunning, and the shocking pink somehow goes with it.

But this one, I don't know. Also the blue lehnga is very light, from the pics posted it has no embroidery at all ... would they show Khushi in such a plain lehnga for her roka? So is it possible that the girl who visited saw only the rehearsal shots and not the final takes? Or am I clutching at straws here?

Aaru no stopping wedding for sure but dhamaka right after the peras or grihapravesh done. More than past am expecting Anjali to go to labour. That's what khushi said 8 days remaining to contract. 4 days gone. 4 days left including shagun. So one day for rokha, one for sangeet or there will be no sangeet as buaji said uska repeat nahi hoga and they will move straight to mehendi and haldi and last day will be marriage which will take weeks as usual.

i'm super hooked with the BFTP! the spoiler pics are scary!! SI's outfit look plain yucky... why the RGB combo??? and the IF girl said a beutiful lehenga... where is it?? the shagun wala outfit was loads better... atleast the colour combo was pleasant...
on the other hand the cravat makes a comeback finally!!! BS looks damn good with that cavat, if only he would get a haircut done! and plz CVs get a new stylist for SI.

DeleteSagai and Mangani are the same -ring ceremony or engagement. A formal function with close friends and family present and where the would be bride and groom xchange rings.
Roka is very much like sagai or mangani but is a very traditional and conservative form of engagement. As mentioned above traditionally the nanad made the girl wear a ring (silver ring that too). The girl and and the guy met each other only at wedding. Rokas are still very much a part of wedding rituals but has undergone modernisation. So nowadays, the ring is xchanged between girl and guy at roka.
Roka generally has only and only immediate family. Friends and extended family is normally not invited for roka where as for sagai or mangani, friends and extended family are generally invited...

DeleteYep, still shooting the roka, so it will be a long sequence. Also, Parul, the girl who visited the sets, posted her first set of pictures on Saturday, which means she went on Friday ... so they have started shooting the roka from Friday itself, yet we still haven't seen the scenes of Arnav alone in orange tee at night, with the phone, missing Khushi. So they finally seem to have a couple of days worth of episode bank.
actually no ... sbs only showed her waist and above ... her makeup looked good compared to pics though so am hopeful over all will look good too.

I find Parvarish good too. Completely normal dressing for both elders and young ones ... I watched few episodes recently. Cute family day to day stuffs. Don't know why their TRP is not high if YRKKH can have such steady 3+ TRP with day to day stuffs.
Arshad is on vacation maybe for Eid. Maybe that's the reason for rushed episodes. Who knows what pangas goes behind the screens!!

My cousin is here for Eid, when I asked her how are you liking these day ... she said they are getting married again its fun with the suspense(btw she understands almost all that we discuss here ... so maybe cvs are not that cryptic either or maybe she has good decoding grey cells up there) but Arnav and khushi does not look good together anymore and that's a put off !!! (She is not an addict and she is a total aam janta without FB, IF or R&R or any other source. To her IPK is just the main telecast)

Sama that's probably because there's nothing new in their scenes these days yaar.. I mean, ok, the BFTP is exciting for us.. and with the scenes, we have a story to remember, something o discuss, to analyse etc.. but then, for aam janta, who doesn't give a damn about the story or doesn't bother to discuss so much, what they hooked onto the show was for Arhi..and these days when they probably see ArHi they will be like "arey, ye scene to pehle bhi dekha hua hain!" or they will have just 2 min of ArHi in the entire 20 min episode.. while the rest is dedicated to dadi and all the grip stuff ...
