7/8 - Epi 314 ... Clash of the Titans

Tuesday 7th August

Crackerjack of an episode!!!

Arnav Nani entry  ... Arnav Dadi meeting ... liked the touch of Arnav stooping for ashirwad ... Nani, bless her heart, immediately introduces Payal and Khushi ... Mami hides :))
Dadi is furious ... about the mystery wedding? About not being told? About her own mistake? Considering the first two were under her own control, have a feeling her pride is dented at the big mistake she made ... still can't figure out whether she knew about Anjali-Shyam's marriage or not, if she has been MIA for fifteen years.
And she refuses to give Khushi aashirwad ... Arnav is not happy ...

Nani tries to reason with Dadi ... mini clash of Titans here ... as Nani asks the pertinent question... why now? After fifteen years? You abdicated the responsibility to me fifteen years ago, and now you ask all these questions?
And Dadi is annoyed no one invited her for her own grandson's wedding ... did she come for her granddaughter's? Was she invited?
Loved this scene ... two great senior actresses, and a scene thick with emotions, anger and accusations flowing, without a single raised voice ...

ArHi ... Arnav lost in memories, unpleasant ones ... Khushi tries to reach out ... blames herself, the circumstances of their marriage for Dadi's hostility ... and some miles redeemed on the RTR as he tells her for the first time that it was not her fault, the way they got married, it was all his ... but can't bear to answer her questions yet ...
And leaves Khushi wondering ... sometimes she feels she knows him so well, sometimes he is a stranger ...
Beautiful ArHi scene ... :">

Arnav-Dadi ... Clash of the Titans part 2 ... Dadi asks questions, Arnav answers with his own ... why now? What right to you have to ask these questions, when you refused to even meet me when I came so many times?
And the festering sore is finally opened up ...
You remind me of your father ...
Don't mention his name in this house ... I am nothing like my father ...
How can you talk like that about him ...?
I said, don't take his name ...

Another crackerjack of a scene!!! =D>

Payal and NK try to comfort Khushi ... and she decides to try to apologise ... 'darti hai par karti hai ...'
And Khushi reaches Dadi-Nani's room just as Dadi is levelling some more accusations ... Dadi breaks off mid-sentence to glare at Khushi and stop her entering again ... and Arnav walks out ... to stand with his wife.
'If my wife is not welcome here, I don't think I'm needed either.'
Arnav bitwa, you just redeemed quite a few miles on that RTR  =D> Just seeing Khushi's look at your words made my day :) I always said, if Arnav gives Khushi the confidence that her marriage is a real one, no Anjali manjali will be able to drive her out ... And as her confidence grows, so will her desire to dig into the past ...
(SN - could we see this firmness when Mami calls Khushi PS also? Just a teensy request ... since you did so good today ;) )

*edited* Be prepared for a long rambling take :) :">

The Episode ... Scene by Scene ...

The Homecoming ... Arnav's flashback ... exactly the same as Anjali's, when he sees his Dadi for the first time in 15 years ... a reminder of the infamous 'haadsa' that uprooted their lives all those years ago ... and how everyone's present is shaped completely by that fateful night ...
15 year old Arnav became ASR ... abandoned by his closest family ... mother died/committed suicide, father disappeared/died/declared as good as dead ... Chacha threw the young Arnav and Anjali out of their ancestral home ... and Dadi, who could have stopped that last betrayal, made sure the children at least stayed in their own home, disappeared into her own 'peetal bartan' ... as Arnav looks at Dadi, his memories come crowding in, none of them happy ...

Nani puts a gentle hand on his shoulder ... ever-wise, ever-comforting ... she took over the role of parent all those years ago, took the responsibility for sheltering the homeless chidlren and bringing them up ... now she brings back Arnav to the present with a gentle touch on his shoulder ...

And he remembers his duty to his grandmother ... there is no obvious pleasure to see her in his eyes ... there is hope and a yearning in Dadi's eyes as she steps forward to meet him ...
And Anjali's expression was guilty, a little furtive ... Khushi watches anxiously ...
And Arnav bends to touch Dadi's feet ... his duty ... and Dadi is relieved, Nani smiles with relief and a touch of pride ... her well-brought up grandson, remembers his upbringing, his tehzeeb ... even though he's not ready to embrace his Dadi yet ...
Dadi takes the first step ... stretches out her arms ... and Arnav finally relents and returns the hug ... Anjali smiles with tearful relief (all the glycerin reserved for her) ... so does Dadi ... Arnav's expression remains guarded, but more relaxed than earlier ...

Nani steps in to break the tension ... with a lighter remark ... you made us hunt all over for you ... Dadi replies Nani was looking in the wrong place as usual ... a throwback to old friendship? Or an indication of attitude ... you were wrong, not me ...
And the old friends hug fondly, affectionately ... before Nani recalls her duties as matriarch and moves to introduce the two new family members ... Manorama should have done this duty already, but she will repeat it ...
The side cast is so good in this show, and specially in this episode ... Mami shows her consternation that she will be found out, that she shirked her duty ... and NK is pleased ... :)

Khushi is even more worried than before ... another storm coming?
Nani introduces Payal, Akash's wife ... Dadi is only tepidly interested ... Nani turns to Khushi and Mami promptly hides behind NK, this is where she slipped up big time :)) ...  Dadi says yes, Khushi was the one who greeted me very well ... Khushi even more worried, Arnav is pleased and proud, all ready for his wife to be introduced to his Dadi ...
Nani asks Khushi to come forward, Khushi does so very hesitantly, Nani tells her to take ashirwad, and Chotey too ... and Dadi's minds finally clicks ... 'yeh?'
'This is Chotey's wife, and your bahu.' Nani proudly, smilingly completes the introduction ... and Dadi is shocked. NK is very pleased, yes! Now his Khushiji has received her rightful acknowledgement ... Mami hides behind him as Dadi utters a shocked 'Kya?!' and glares first at a worried Khushi, then at the missing Mami ... Arnav, every inch proud husband, steps forward readily to take aashirwad with his wife ... this time touching Dadi's feet was without any reluctance or mixed feelings at all ...
And Dadi retracts her aashirwad from Khushi ..

Loved that shot of Arnav Khushi bending to take aashirwad, Dadi moving back, and that sideways look of Arnav towards Khushi ... ever-watchful, ever-sensitive to any slight to his wife ... they stand, and Nani has also noticed the withdrawal ... so has everyone else, NK, Mami, Payal ...

Dadi gives everyone a glare ... Khushi is distressed and upset, so is Arnav ... and Dadi walks off ... She had decided Khushi was the maid, now regardless of what anyone tells her, Khushi is the maid, or at that level ... or is it just that Dadi hates to be wrong, and she has just been shown to have been completely so?
Nani sees Arnav Khushi upset, and moves to damage control ... presuming that Dadi is upset at not being told about the marriage ... she will explain to Dadi, not to worry ... and a visibly perturbed Arnav and Khushi wait ...

Nani-Dadi ... Nani tries to reason with her old friend ... you've returned after so many years ... be happy and bless your children. Why are you being such a douche bag? (Ok, that last was my addition :)) )
Dadi accuses her ... 'what have you been doing? Anjali is pregnant, but her husband is missing, Arnav is married, but no one tells me how and when he got married ... and the girl I thought was a maid, is actually his wife?'

And Nani takes the bull by the horns and confronts her old friend ... and asks her all the questions we have been asking since yesterday ... 'WHY NOW? Why all these questions now? Why the sudden worry? When so many years ago, you left us all and went off to the ashram? And despite our attempts, you refused even to see our faces ... after that 'haadsa' ...'
Dadi doesn't answer that 'why ... she doesn't want to talk about the 'haadsa' ... because it reminds her of 'that woman' ... it has nothing to do with today ...

But Nani, although sympathetic, is relentless ... 'that haadsa has shaped our lives ... if that hadn't happened, you would be responsible for your children today, instead of asking me these questions ... because of that haadsa, you haven't even seen the faces of your children for so many years... that haadsa is responsible for everything happening today.' You abdicated your responsibility, and ran away to the ashram, you left two defenseless children alone to fend for themselves, I brought them up all these years, without a word from you ... and now you have the gall to ask me where I went wrong?

A shot I loved ... the two old ladies facing opposite directions ... one still locked in the shadows and chains of the past and refusing to break free ... the other, although she faced the same shadows, lost her own daughter, but she looked forward, to the future, took in two abandoned children and shaped them into the adults they are today ... Both the children still bear the scars from that day, both are trying to deal with them in their own ways ... and Nani as always, tried her best possible to help them.
And Nani continues ... 'don't say this has nothing to do with the past ... it does.'

ArHi .. A troubled Khushi remembers being called a servant, remembers the withheld aashirwad ... enters her room to find Arnav lost in thought ... she knows he's troubled ... but what is he so troubled about? What happened downstairs? And Khushi being Khushi, she tries to comfort himby taking the blame, the onus on herself ... he's not to worry, it's not Dadi's fault really ... or his ...
'Maybe she didn't like me ... maybe I said or did something wrong ... maybe she's annoyed about not being told about our marriage ...'
But he doesn't respond ... and she retreats ... he will blame her again ... it was somehow her fault ...

And her distress reaches Arnav through the black cloud surrounding him ... for the first time, the shadow of the past, the anguish, the turmoil  ... all of that is not so important as reassuring his wife that no, what happened downstairs was not her fault ... because he knows Khushi now, he knows she will take the burden of guilt on herself, blame herself, hide her own pain and try to keep everyone around her happy ... and reassuring her is most important right now ...
And he sees her sitting defeatedly on the bed ... silently shedding tears ... he lifts her face with his hand ... and he knows, yes, she's blaming herself again, and she's hurting ... deeply ...

The change in Khushi - she doesn't try to hide her pain from him now ... she can't ...
The change in Arnav, the Khushi effect - he sees beyond his pain to hers ... and assuaging her pain is more important than anything else ... earlier his own pain would make him lash out at her, hurt her ... now, his pain takes second spot to hers ... RTRW  well under way ...

'Khushi ... Dadi isn't angry because of you ... nor because of the wedding. None of this is your fault. I know better than anyone, that the way we got married, was never your fault at all.'
And Khushi turns to look at him, completely shocked ... the first time he has told her that, the first time he has acknowledged his mistake in marrying her the way he did .. the way he forced her ... she is not to hold herself responsible for any of that at all. The first time he has taken the onus of that hate filled night firmly on his own shoulders ... and lifted it completely off hers. A huge step on the RTRW.

And he goes on to try and explain Dadi and her reactions to her ... 'Dadi is like that, always has been. She only sees things from her own viewpoint, she never faces the truth. She sees what she wants, understands only what she wants to understand (looks like Anjali has inherited this trait of Dadi's) ... and expects everyone to see things only the way she does. And if they don't, they are wrong.'

Seems like Arnav has inherited a lot of his arrogance and stubbornness from his Dadi ... maybe it runs in the family :)) Sounded like he was describing himself ... or rather, describing the pre-Khushified ASR.

And Khushi starts to see the hidden undercurrents, starts to search below the surface of the seemingly calm ocean, to the currents swirling in the depths ... reaches out to her husband for the first time ... seeking to understand this complex man she loves ... 'why so much anger? So much hurt? Not because of what just happened downstairs, surely? Then what? There is something more, isn't there? You never mentioned Dadi ever till today, neither did Di ever talk about her ... is there some problem between you and Dadi?'
And she reaches out again ... tell me, I'm here for you if you need me ... I feel sometimes, that I don't know you at all ... and I need to, I want to ... I want to be there for you ...

He knows she will be there for him, she always has been there ... even when he mistreated her, threw her away, demeaned her, insulted her ... yet when he needed her, she was there, ... fearless, ready to hold up a mirror to him, to question him, argue with him, point out his flaws, his mistakes ... but always there ... showing him just by being herself, the right way ahead ...
But he's not ready yet ... not ready to explore that festering wound so deeply ... it needs to be laid open and cleaned out ... but he's not ready yet for the hurt it will bring ...

But one thing he can do ... and he leaves to do it ...
Leaving Khushi wondering ... sometimes she feels so close to him,and sometimes she feels so distant, as though married to a stranger ...
But she is finally ready to start exploring the man ... to love both the shaitan and the rajkumar ...

Nani-Dadi ... Dadi accuses Nani of not informing her of Arnav's wedding, she would have wanted to attend the marriage of her grandson ...
Umm, Dadi, presumably you knew of Anjali's wedding. You didn't attend that, did you?
Nani fumbles at that one ... but Arnav will not let down the lady who stood by him all these years when he needed support, the mother-figure after he lost his mother ...nor the wife who kept his secret even when she didn't know the reason to ... he is ready to take the entire responsibility for his actions that night ... first with his wife, and now with the person asking all the questions ...
'I didn't tell anyone. No one attended my marriage.'

Yes, Dadi feels she has the right to question him ... he didn't tell anyone, ask anyone's permission ... how can he make such decisions?

And Arnav is angry ... the anger suppressed within for the last fifteen years, the anger and anguish of the fifteen year old boy, forced to turn man far too soon, forced to depend only on himself, forced to take all the decisions for himself and his sister ... where was this Dadi then? Where were these questions then? When she refused even to meet him? And he refutes her haq to ask any questions at all ...
But Dadi is his Dadi ... she has the right, she claims it ... his grandmother, the mother of his father ...
And Nani's expression shows her shock ... now the fat is truly in the fire ... Dadi has mentioned he-who-must-not-be-named ... now the war is on ...
Gritted teeth, face averted ... clenching jaw ... as Dadi continues, unmindful of the storm to erupt ... 'the way you're answering me back, you remind me of your father's khubiyan ...'
And she did not mean the word 'khubiyan' literally ...

And Arnav stops her ... 'Bas, Dadi ...' Enough. I am not like him, and neither will I ever be. And that man is not to be mentioned in this house.
And Dadi is horrified ... how can he talk about his own father like that?
'Maybe you didn't hear me. No one ... takes ... his ... name ... I ... don't ... like ... it.'

A clash of wills, a clash of egos, a clash of two strong headed stubborn personalities ... a clash of Titans ... as Nani watches the battle horrified ... again the family threatening to break ...

Payal tries to reassure a worried Khushi ... Dadi will come round, it was an unfortunate start ... NK adds his counsel for his sakha ... Payal accepts that they made a mistake in not correcting Dadi's impression ... so Dadi felt bad when she realised that Khushi is actully the badi bahu, not a maid ...
Khushi's face shows her emotions, as Payal points out her real status in the house ... NK Payal encourage her to apologise to Dadi ...
And Mami is exultant ... lamb fed to the lions ... or lioness ... she's out of the firing range.

Nani tries to broker a truce ... Arnav tries to tamp down his anger, Dadi backs down slightly from her stance ... 'All I'm saying is ...' but stops as she sees Khushi at the door ... and holds up a hand to stop her ... Arnav watches the byplay ... and makes his stand very clear ... walk out the door to stand by his wife ... much to the fury of his Dadi ... 'how dare you walk away when I'm talking to you?'
To a completely WT* expression from Khushi ... does this run in the family? :))
'Where my wife is not allowed to enter, I don't think I'm needed there either. I can hear you from here ... carry on.'
Perfectly calm, perfectly polite ... perfectly firm.

And Khushi looks at him with shock, gratitude ... pride ... her husband is by her side ... with her ...
Finally Arnav is giving her all the confidence she needs ... in private, as well as in public. Finally no conflicting, confusing, bipolar stances ... or maybe she is just starting to read them better.
Nani beams contentedly, proud of her grandson and her own upbringing ... she has brought up a fine, upstanding young man whose heart is in the right place.
Dadi says in that case, she has nothing more to say ... challenging Arnav ... her or me. I won't talk with her around ... get rid of her.

Arnav makes his choice without blinking an eyelid. 'As you like.' You won't talk with her around ... your choice. Don't talk. She will always be around.

Quite a big mileage redeemed on that RTRW tonight :)

  2. Epi update:

    Dadi is loads like ASR.

ASR is loads like ASR's Dad but He is Loads BETTER.

    I loved the episode today.

Dadi disapproves of Khushi rather is not impressed by her.

Arnav is not impressed by the fact that after so many years (read practically abandoning them), she DEMANDS Answers.

Nani & Dadi are childhood friends so no formalities and loved Nani when she stood her ground.

Khushi is all confused and is finally started to say the right things with Bitwa.

ARNAV reiterates 2 two things to Dadi:

Dadi might still love her son, Arnav has no such feelings for his Dad.

Khushi deserves to be treated with respect or else he will not respect the person disrespecting her.

Loved the epi, loved the fantastic performances by everyone.

"iss shaddi mai tumhari koi galti nahi hai, maine tumhe majbur kiya tha...

"Na mai unki jesa hoon na mai unke jise banuga..."

Loved how Nani and Arnav questioned Dadi .. very right and bang on questions... At last some question and some answers.

  4. good episode, right from the start......Nani introducing Khushi was perfect...Arnav's expression when she was intorduced as his wife, priceless....the shock when Dadi dint let her take the blessing....good that he saw it....

Nani's questions were perfect, why showing concern now, when u werent around when needed.....Arnav asked the same questions....

Khushi's reason to go to Dadi's room was good....Nk-Payal, good as team Khushi, cheering her up....

    Mami is enjoying Khushi's insults....

Arnav described Dadi giving a hint bt the future....

loved the last part....was better then the precap....

Khushi seeing this side of Arnav, fighting for her right, her respect...awesome....

Nani was so proud of him, when he said that he wont stay when his wife is not allowed in....

my heart went out to bitiya, when she said sometimes i feel a part of ur life, but sometimes i feel like a total stranger....i guess after the last part, she will be more assured of her place...and a talk with Nani will tell her that its not her, Arnav doesnt talk to anybody bt his past...

Bitwa is not interested in crossing the Arnav rekha completely, guess he is waiting for re-marriage :D

Now Bitiya never leaves well enough alone, so she will dig and dig and not let him rest till he spills everything out ... upar se he's already getting mad at Dadi, so he just needs an outlet ...

She was good though yesterday performance wise, but seriously which pregnant woman bends like that and cries.

And she expects sympathy from the audience.

btw, this reminded me of our favourite playtime activity in childhood ...ghar ghar....where u had to assume that things were there in order for the next part of the play to continue...

  6. ASR I LOVE YOU!

"jahaan meri pathni nahi aa sakthi, vahaan mujhe nahi lagta meri koi zarooath hai... mein yehi se sun raha hoon" i loved this more than his FATAKK of shyam!! this covered quite some ground on his RTR!!!

i loved barun's angry young man look today... got to see his real anger after quite a loong gap...

"shayad aapne theekse suna nahi, unki naam is ghar me koi bhi le, yeh mujhe pasand nahi"

"naa hi mein unki tarah hu aur nahi kabhi banunga"

the entire exchange to me reminded of a play called Titan's clash that i read when i was in 8th.... its abt a father and son, both strong willed and fighting for their ideals....

i noticed the way arnav described abt his dadi, suited him perfectly well... i was half expecting khushi to throw her hands up and say,
"aye le, ek aur ASR??? ab ek laad governor is ghar me kafi nahi hai hi dhusi tapak padi"

and with the way arnav was behaving there seems to be some very serious animosity between the dadi-potha duo...

also, what does a hadsaa mean??? incident?? controversy???

that expression of khushi said it all when ASR walks to her without listening to dadi and standing besides her and Dadi repeating ASR lines , that when I am talking don't turn away from me..

Sanzs was too good in that exchange, she couldn't believe that the ASR who bend down to take her blessing and hugged her, has the guts to give it on her face.

And loved Nani getting happy when Arnav stood with Khushi and claimed her as his wife.

      Nani, Dadi were gud too..

I am going to get Subadhra vs ASR Supporting Khushi.

      I am NOT complaining.

Swati Chitnis is damn good. Kuch bhi bolo this PH gets its casting right.

Barun was fabulous. Heard today was the last day of his shoot at his move.

So does that mean, we will finally get that DAMN HAIRCUT!!!

If Dadi scolds Khushi, Agar tum Raizada bahu ho toh uskay jaisay lagoAngry

Khushi goes upstairs changes into a Saree and comes down.

    By that same logic:

Dadi scolds Anjali, Agar tum Pregnant ho toh, Pregnant toh lago, KYA YEH (Hindi translation of What theLOL)

    Sooo

Can we expect Anjali to go upstairs and return with the baby bump?

there was a reality show some years back where the contestant (all tv series couples) were to sport baby bump for some days, and one of them (juhi parmar) backed out saying she has a back problem...it weighs around 10-14 kilos, i guess

u are referring to prosthetic effects....that may be weigh something....possible but in shows like in old movies....u don't really do anything more than keep it padded....how much will that weigh...and frankly its a call that PH has to take...if they are not putting their foot down, it shows how much of reality they wan to project on screen.....

As a viewer, she makes no connect as a pregnant lady.period..if its not central to story, i care a damn but i will only laugh when she clutches her tummy...becos i am not ready to assume that she is pregnant..

    10. Shwetha, sorry, if my info was wrong, but thats what the whole hoopla was that time, that its very heavy...

Sama, that thing was not just a pillow, dont know what it was, but it gave a proper shape....as in a proper swollen torso :P it wasnt comething she can wear with transparent sarees....it shud be worn inside a maternity gown, to just give that effect...

Rekha, agree with you...PH seems ok with no bump..even in Geet they did the same thing...maybe its that and not DB...i just thought of giving her a benefit of dount...
and i totally agree with u, that as a viewer she doesnt get any sympathy from me on pregnancy basis, cause of the bump....

    13. okay.. so she will deliver by the time the rosebuds bloom.. so the pregnancy is almost fullterm.. dadi can see the bump, and everyone is acting as if there is a pretty huge bump.. why did daljeet fold into dadi's lap to cry? why not her shoulder? if she's ACTING as if she's ten months pregnant, she has to at least have the mannerisms right!

and a question.. dadi went off to ashram one year after the hadsa.. so she knows that the first wedding did not happen.. hence, when she sees anjali pregnant, she's asking for damaadji, whoever he is.. am i correct?

      Delete
    14. Jaya, I will interpret some of the conversations to mean this ... Dadi asked, why didn't you tell me about Arnav's wedding, I might have liked to attend.
She expressed no surprise about Anjali being married, only about her pregnancy.

Nani and Arnav both said they attempted to get Dadi back on numerous occasions ...
My interpretation - the last attempt they made was for Anjali's wedding to Shyam ... so Dadi knew of the wedding, but still refused to come out of her peetal bartan.

SN - Is peetal bartan also a family trait?

      Delete
    15. Again...for a person having a peetal ka bartan moment, SC has too much attitude......hehehe..I hope Arnav's moment is shorn of that trait...LOL or Su will ask me...iska peetal ka bartan moment kaha?

ASR-Anji's dad was involved with a woman, who is Shyam's sister....the truth came out to the family when the accident happened, in which Khushi's parents had died, and Arnav-Anjali and their mom had to cut short their trip and reach home to witness their dad with this woman....later on this woman was expecting his child, that's arnav's step brother....Arnav's Dad wanted her to abort but she dint....
and she comes back after a year to ask for the child's right to his surname...that was the day when Anjali was getting married and cause of all this Arnav's mom committed suicide.......

No matter how unfit it is ... I am glad someone is asking Qs in RM. Hence my like for her. Hope they don't go overboard with the "strict" tag.

    4. Sama: ME ME ME!! I was, does he realize he is actually describing himself or atleast how he used to be for the past 14-15 years?

I think Arnav's Dad used to be a blunt cum arrogant guy. I don't buy that he got MUed.

He better not. Fact is He was married, had kids and yet went after another lady.

The beauty of the show is everyone has flaws, let this be Arnav's Dad's flaw.

      Delete
    5. Shwetha, i agree bt all the characters having flaws.....that is the essence of IPK

      Delete
    6. Having quality of ASR already makes him a flawed person ... marrying Nani's daughter forcefully maybe the eact thing Nani hates him for. And Dadi might have taken it as DIL luring son. Hence arnavs dialogue about Dadi's conceptions. Tried to do something right and in his hot temper got tangled in "woh aurat" hadsa engineered by wicked chachaji.

      Isn't that flawed enough???

      Delete
    7. umm.. technically ASR has his dad's quality, right??? which would make ASR flawed. but ASR turned from arnav to ASR as a result of the hadsa, no???

if A's dad married A's mom forcefully, will dadi and nani still be friends?

dadi may have forgvn her son's wrong doing.. but she doesnt seem to be favouring him much...

"jis tarah aap humhe palatke jawaab de rahe ho, hume aap me aap ke babuji ke khubiya dikh rahi hain"
i took this as a sarcastic and snide remark...

  12. Battle lines are draw and it is increasingly becoming clear that Dadi is one who would be prepared to overlook the faults of her own and put the blame on the other. She seems to have forgiven her own son for whatever he did, putting the blame on the other woman (I am assuming that ASR's father had some illicit relationship). When Shyam's truth comes out, she may be willing to overlook as a mere weakness that men find hard to resist and put the blame squarely on K for enticing him. After all her darling grand daughter's marital life is at stake. Never mind her non-acceptance of K would affect her grandson's marital life. ASR being a man would be expected to recover from this haadsa of marrying a girl totally inappropriate to be the bahu of the house.

She may not have counted on how stubborn her grandson can really be. After all it runs in the family.

      Perfect Opti !

      Delete
    2. Opti - just saw this - my thoughts exactly (wrote something similar just a few minutes ago - the dadi seems to find it easy to see what she wants to - put the blame on one party only and forgive her son - will do it again if she needs to take sides between Damadji and Bahu!

      Delete
    3. I am now worried, after the multiple references to the other woman, that Khushi's mother was the other woman, and Arnav's dad fell for her. But in the same way that Shyam fell for Khushi ... ie Khushi's mom did not reciprocate, she herself was happily married with a child.

For a woman's of Dadi's thinking, the other woman will always be in the wrong, no matter if her own sikka was the khota one. Hence although she accepts that her son was stubborn and argumentative, she is not ready to disown him, just for one mistake he made. After all, men do stray, her DIL should have accepted and adjusted, and even turned a blind eye. And voh aurat is to blame, not her own son.

While for Arnav, his father betrayed his MOTHER ... he lost his mother because of his father's sins ... so his father is beyond forgiveness.

Hence when the truth about Shyam and Khushi spills out, Dadi will side with Shyam and Anjali, and blame Khushi for enticing Shyam ... Anjali's marriage is much more important to her than Arnav's ... a son can suffer the stigma of a broken marriage much more easily than a daughter. And it is all too easy to blame a beautiful young girl for enticing both your damaad and your grandson, than to let your granddaughter's second marriage, which happened after so many years, break. And Anjali should overlook one mistake of Shyam's ... after all, men are weak, they can stray.

But again, Opti's last line ... She may not have counted on how stubborn her grandson can really be.

And Arnav might be willing to leave Anjali under the protection of both Nani, who knows the truth about Shyam, and Dadi, who would be fiercely protective of Anjali, and would watch Shyam like a hawk if he strays ... and leave with Khushi.

      Delete
  13. sama if u see khushi was 8 at the time of her parents accident and she is now 23 so that makes it 15 years ...the 15years should be the event (considering khushi is also linked) and the ashram event would be a fallout so 14 years thereabouts....so it fits in unless they worked out their math to make it exact.....whichever way u look at it it should be more than 14 years if Khuhsi was 8 then.....as she had her 23rd b'day now

    1. Assuming Doodz is right about the other woman being Shyam's sister, I have this theory:

She must have been around 18, just like Khushi full of life, burdened by the love and hence was forced to become his second wife for the sake of her adopted or own family.

And now at 33 she returns and I soooooooooooooooooooooo want Chandana Sharma aka Damini of LNMDJ fame to play the part.

That girl can be the person:

Who shows Khushi, she needs to get over I am not worth being loved and have to repay everyone who loves me.

She can show Anjali, You don't needa a man be it your bro or your hubby to be happy.

She can be the Friend cum Di, ASR deserves and show Arnav the other side of Khushi which he has not fully understood her whole Complex thing so he can set it right.

If Arnav doesn't wants to discuss his father then why was he celebrating his barsi? Does it means that he 'considers' him dead in his life.

I am also not able to decode this haadsa. What I can make out is that it was Anjali's wedding day and their mother shot herself. But the kostin is...to whatever extent a mother is affected by the extra marital relations of her husband, she would never let this come in the way of her daughter's marriage.
Again, there is no clear depiction of mother killing herself...so the Cvs have lots of scope for twists and turns.

    21. Ananya, yes, even I get the feeling that Arnav's dad might be still alive. I remember the garland fell of his picture during the barsi, and when Arnav talked to Khushi, he said about giving 'aag' to his mother, not his parents.

Don't know whether the mother committed suicide or was killed ... has it ever been specified?

I am ignoring the Shyam's sister angle for now ... till they actually show it in the show, I refuse to believe it. There has been nothing to suggest that Shyam is in this marriage for anything but money, there has been no motive of old revenge hinted at ever. I would prefer to believe what I read in the old articles and what I actually see on screen.

Today the references to the 'other woman' were just too many ... in fact, when Dadi said something about the woman and the haadsa, I almost expected her to say that Khushi's face reminded her of the other woman.

The Arnav - Dadi face off.
The Arnav - Khushi conversation ( Yaay they are finally having a conversation that too in complete sentences )
    The Dadi - Nani convo
The Payl - Khushi - NK convo

Just everything was in the right dosage and in equilibrium.

I think in the next few days it will become obvious that Dadi & Arnav will be at loggerheads about the past and also about the future , maybe with Shyam.

Khushi is the middle will find herself in the middle of a battle and may want to withdraw near the contract date.

  21. Nani - you rock - the reason i did not like dadi yesterday was exactly what ASR & Nani said today - hoe dare she question the grand lady on the kids upbringing when she conveniently was in an ashram all this while - so she had not even seen the kids faces for 14-15 years - she really has no right to question nani who raised the children (adolescent kids and groomed them into responsible adults!)

    - ODB - wow - was so in character - perfect! - loved his expression when nani called out KKG! - the proud smile was sssoooo sweet!

    - ODG was also in character - she always takes time to start acting - she is always scared first - and inquisitive!!!
Note to ODG - when your husband - the man of few words is brooding - don't pester him with questions he is not willing to answer as yet - just give him a hug and let him you are there with him- he will open up in his own time

High point of the day - three :
    - both nani and ASR telling Dadi that she just cant walk in one fine day and take over the reigns!
    - ODB's convo with dadi - was very well done (have to say ODB has really come a long way since the beginning of the show!)
    - ODB&G having a proper conversation!!!

finally - BG - tussi great ho - took so long to write coz was in splits over your comments - needed time to breath!! decoding ODB&G's relationship agar sab aisay hi chalta raha to!! and Anji comes down with a bump!! *ROFL ROFL ROFL*

She has to pester him to make him open up ... a naturally reserved man like him will not do it on his own. And he will love it when she does it with Haq ... am looking forward to the song now, hope they don't mess it up ... *SHIDDAT!!!*

Completely agree with you about ODB. a naturally reserved man will not open up and talk on his own. Men are reserved anyways I think and ODB at that is one the most reserved men around.

Khushi will need to pester him, show him her love and affection, give him the strength and support, push him and at same time hold him for him to even begin to let her into the deepest and darkest secrets.... that have haunted him fir 14 long years.

  22. PS -
nani mentions two new entreats into the family - so dadi does know of TF!

ODB says dadi is blind to everything except her way of looking at things + dadi mentions her son - could it be that dadi though not against her bahu did not go against her son either and hence hid in an ashram as en excuse rather than face the unpleasantness?? - did she do nothing when the young kids were thrown out of their own home (the audacity of this woman to now be asking, no demanding answers - i am with ODB - he really should not answer any of her questions - Nani & mami to some extent are the only ones he is answerable to!)

Dadi is the first one who calls ASR, Arnav - not chotay, bhai, bitwa etc etc - does she know of his adoption of his new name - ASR rather than Arnav Malik?

    1. I am guessing that if Arnav made repeated attempts to see Dadi at the ashram, one of the last attempts must have been to invite her for Anjali's wedding. So she does know that Anjali is already married. She wouldn't be so bothered at not being invited to Akash's wedding ... he is not her own grandson. Not being informed of Arnav's wedding got her annoyed.

Even otherwise, Nani would not mention Shyam as a new entrant when he had already been thrown out. But from the 'repeated attempts' line, this is what I felt.

And I still want to know ... WHY has she chosen to come back now?

    3. Thats exactly my point - dadi knows about TF - so she could very easily have come in due to him OR now that she is here - TF will use her to his benefit - ODB already said Dadi is selectively blind - she is sure to side with TF over ODG!

ps - so loved Nani's mile when ODB walks out of the room and said i will listen to you from here dadi!!

NOT FAIR, CVs!!. we suffer through three months of marriage angst, two months of kidnap angst... you give us one week of wooing and suddenly all is well??

      Delete
    3. Jaya, if you read my TWTW, I have given an interpretation of the Wednesday talk ... which, if correct, would then lead Khushi to believe that yes indeed, the contract was a ramanchi by Arnav to make her stay back, he didn't mean it, neither did she ... the marriage is for keeps and they both know it. Hence her change in attitude.

In which case, Dadi's entry will probably just ensure that they repeat their vows ... either in front of the family, or Arnav might just make Khushi do it to give Khushi that final reassurance, to face Dadi.

I have been following this blog for a few weeks now. I recently started watching IPKKND and this is such a terrific place to go - to vent, to see other people's points of view, to get answers and to feel better after watching a dumb episode. Your conversations are so rich and enlightening. Also, your literary skills and commentary is so stimulating. The quotes, poems, songs - just everything is so cool.
There are a lot of take-aways from this place - even without the show being involved. I love the respect shared between the wonderful women here and thoroughly enjoy being on the blog. Thank you so much for providing this forum.

He has worked hard to build up Khushi's confidence to take her place by his side as his wife and today he went even further to make sure that she will be recognised and acknowledge with respect. If that is not given to her then he will stand beside her come what may.
Khushi will give Arnav her strength and support and try to get him to open up and share his troubles in her own unique way.

Resulting in the tragic death/murder/suicide of several involved parties and a car crash for khushi's parents...

Question is how patni parmeshwar Arnav will remain once he figures out khushi's mum had a role in the death of hi own mum...

SN: DD explains soooo much about Arnav.... I finally understood where he got his aukad distaste and arrogance... Guess he tool after some of his dadi's qualities ... Lucky for him Khushi entered his life else he'd still be the biggest Sadoo sitting alone t home on new years eve;-)

  31. Subhadra - lord krishna's half sister, Arjuna's wife (and his cousin as well) and Abhimanyu's mother. Subhadra drive the chariot away from Dwarka. It is Subhadra who slept during the conversation between herself and Arjuna which gave her son half knowledge of the chakravyuha.... Abhimanyu was born with knowledge of how to get in to the chakravyuha but not how to get out....

Subhadra was also Arjuna cousin (vasudeva and Kunti being sibblings)..... So where does out Subhadra fit in...

Does she know something more than what anji-arnav know about that night?

'dadi aisi hi hai, wih wohi dekhti hai jo woh dekhna chahti hai, wohi samjhati hai jo samjhna chahti hai' so that did someone try to tell her the truth, show her the mirror but like Subhadra slept while Arjuna was talking, did Subhadra devi Mallik also sleep through the truth and just believed what she saw and heard, just like ODB did on the terrace????

Jaan ke anjaan hum bane, dekh ke andekha humne kiya.... Would that be applicable to Subhadra as well?

There was an 'aurat' involved at that time. Was the 'aurat' involved with chacha and Subhadra mistook it for Arnav's father. Was Arnav's father at wring place, at the wrong time???? Did Subhadra realise her mistake soon after? Is that why she went to the ashram, coz she could not face Anji, Arnav again. Is that tge reason why she did not live with chacha? Ofc chacha threw AA out but did he throw his mother, Subhadra devi out as well or did she walk away from her surviving son?

Worse still, is this chacha Subhadra's real son or was chacha Arnav's father's half brother? That would explain the reasons for chacha to create MU and get rid ir Arnav's parents and throw AA out, to get the entire property....

The 14 years Subhadra lived in hermitage, was that her penance and exile????

Whatever it was, i am still sticking to the fact that the 'aurat' was related to Shyam. Most probably his sister or worse still his mother (abused by chacha, misunderstood as abused by Arnav's father).

    1. UJ,

I liked ur train of thot here...the only place i disagree is the reference to the Shyam's sister angle.....u may well be right tho....my problem is the Khushi part which rankles....if she is not some strong link, the shock element wears off....

The PH has done a great job of withholding the past, they can't afford a moment of "khoda pahad nikla chuha" moment which is what might happen if they don't show a deep link.....somehow they would found a way to link these characters up which is perhaps the reason why Khushi's age underwent ramanchi....

The hadsa is described as a reason for everything by nani but dadi only wants to forget it...so ur surmise that she has diff understanding of the event is clear...that she complete understanding....not necessary, it can still be flawed...usually people who become penitent show more humility esp in life altering situations, which is not the case with Dadi

    2. Rekha

I agree that their parents did not die the same time. Arnav's died 14 years ago and according to buaji khushi's 10 years ago.

Having said that, when khushi tells Arnav about her parents she says she was only 8 when they died in an accident. She did not even know what death meant at the time of their death.... So if khushi is 23 now and was 8 when her parents died then the CVs have changed their stance on khushi's parents dying 10 years ago to 14 years ago.

Also about people becoming humble through penitance. There are too many examples in the history religion, when doing penance and praying, saints and sadhus have taken grudge, been angered, thrown insults and curse at other human beings without getting to the bottom of the matter. The thing is insaan ke basic traits nahi badalte. And dadi sure looks like a fanatic to me.... Fanatic about her principles, rules and arrogance.

      Delete
    3. Agreed.....UJ....just becos one claims that they are doing penance, does not mean they will exhibit penitent behaviour....its all knotted yaar, the samdhan relations, Arnav and Anji perceiving Dadi differently...is it possible that even the event(hadsa) has several interpretations for all those impacted?

All the blame lies with that "woh aurat"......and for that "hadsa"......why is ASR's father not being blamed for the incident by even nani in dadi's presence...is it tact that caused it or soemthing else

on Khuhsi's age....there is some ramanchi for sure....khushi's age being 23 is attributed to Kamlesh Kabri....which the CVs can easily refute as a figment of imagination of media...if they decide to keep Buaji's comment....

CVs please answer this question....i feel like my head is splitting if i don't know K's age....Insanity ki bhi hadh hain...i used to have the knack of picking the suspect in crime novels...using ramanchi all the time...ab sab fail....

    1. Dadi was being sarcastic ... see her expression as she says the word. Am guessing there were huge clashes between mother and son, and now they have spilled over to the next generation, between grandmother and grandson ... and all three generations have the similarities of arrogance and pride. Which is understandable if they come from a rich, well-known family ... the Sheesh Mahal was their family home, so obviously the Malliks were one of the respected and well known families of town.

There is a thin line between pride and arrogance ... one can have pride in one's name, family, lineage ... and also be conscious of the responsibilities it entails. In the scene when Khushi blasts Arnav at his house after the guesthouse incident, she tells him as much ... with power comes responsibility.

Arnav shouldered his responsibility, his sister, when his world crashed around his shoulders. Hence his arrogance is justified to some extent - he built his life again almost from scratch, with Nani and Mami's help. Dadi abdicated her responsibility ... she went off to live in an ashram, leaving her grandchildren alone ... was it out of guilt at what her son had done? That he had betrayed the family name and honor, and she couldn't bear to face the world? Her pride was so badly shattered?

The oncoming track is full of possibilities :)))

      Delete
  33. Random thoughts -

The one thing that's playing up on my mind is that in Arnav's FB, his mum is obviously running away from something or towards someone and then there is a gun shot.... She did not commit suicide, someine probably shot her?

Time and again it has been said, Arnav is like his father - angry young man, bitter, does not listen to anyone, eloped wedding, standing by his wife against the family, possessive & aggressive, arrogant, reserved.... Nani mentions 'aapne sabit kar diya, aap apan babuji samaan hai' at the disclosure of his runaway wedding and then dadi says the same thing when she finds out about his runaway wedding.

Why do both women remember arnav's father on finding out about his runaway wedding? Did Arnav's father have a runaway wedding?

Arnav would rather hurt khushi himself than let anyone else hurt her... Was his father the same? Would his father rather hurt his mother himself than someone else hurt her? If so, did Arnav's father shoot Arnav's mother before killing himself? Or did chacha shoot his mother? I guess if chacha had shot his mum he would have taken his revenge by now so more likely father shot the mother and than shot himself.

So like I said earlier, I am still sticking to khushi's story being Shyam's real story. The old woman being Shyam's mum who had two children Shyam and his sister. His sister being the 'aurat' in question. Possibly unmarried still and living in Mumbai.....

I am not willing to give up the Garima angle yet for some strange reason...I cannot call anyone "amma" and those website stories....keep coming back to me altho they could all be red herring

If Khushi's mother is also Shyam's sister..(that makes him uncle to Khushi), then Garima is not Khushi's mom's sister....becos how they not have recognised each other?

I don't think Shyam's sister is khushi's mother. That would mean Shyam's sister is at least 20 years older than him to have a daughter as okd as khushi.

I think Shyam's sister is the other 'aurat' and khushi might be Shyam's bua's daughter in other words khushi might be shyam's mother's niece or something....

      Delete
    5. Dia

Read your posts above. I agree the possibilities are too many with this track or rather with what might happened.

Personally, i hope the other 'aurat' is not khushi's mum coz
1 i can't see how nani could accept khushi whole heartedly if her mother is responsible directly or indirectly for nani's daughter's death and for what followed after that.
2 similarly can't dadi ever accepting if khushi's amma is that other 'aurat'. Dadi already has a problem with social class and stuff, already a bad start to khushi-dadi relation and if khushi turns out to be the daughter of that other 'aurat' i can't see how dadi will ever come around.
3 would Anji be able to accept khushi whole heartedly. Losing a characterless hubby is one thing, once she sees the proofs she will get over it and with time accept khushi. But if khushi's mum happened to be the other 'aurat' resulting in his first marriage broken and her mum's death then accepting khushi will be almost impossible. Yes ofc khushi is not responsible for any of it but she will always remind her of the incidence...
4 arnav is so close to his mum, misses her day in and day out. Has turned so bitter coz of yhis incidence... Would he be able rationalise to see that khushi is absolutely not responsible and accept khushi even though khushi's mum might be responsible (directly or indirectly) for such a catastrophe....
5 khushi bring khushi, would she ever overcome the guilt of having put through AA such hurt, pain and trauma. Although again she is not responsible but would her mum's indirect involvement not weigh her down with guilt. She is one person who would burden herself with guilt and blame even if she is remotely not responsible, if her mother was involved would she be able to take it her stride and face seeing arnav and Anji everyday if her life????

I thunk it's a big ask from any human being to have a heart as big as that.... Someone cracks will always remain din't you think?

      Delete
    6. UJ, I agree with each and every word you said above ... for anyone to forgive something like this would be impossible ... especially if that haadsa has resulted in such a storm in so many lives ... has changed so many lives for ever.

The ONLY way out would be if this whole thing was a giant MU ... and either it was not Khushi's mother involved at all. or Arnav's father was not involved with her but was just trying to help her and the real villain was someone else, wicked Chacha or anyone random ... it would NEVER work if Khushi's mother and Arnav's father were actually involved ... I don't think either Arnav or Khushi would be able to live with that.

And it would not just be Khushi's guilt about her mother's involvement with a married man - after all, Arnav's dad was involved with a married woman, so he is equally guilty ... she would also blame Arnav's dad for making her an orphan ... So the lack of forgiveness would be on both sides. Khushi is very forgiving, but her forgiving nature also comes from the fact of her being orphan and having no one of her own to fall back on ... she has not much choice but to try and make the best of things and move on. But the person who was responsible for making her an orphan ... even for a person as forgiving as Khushi, this would be very difficult to forgive or forget.

  34. Totally random:

on the similarity between ODB & Dadi -

on the surface they seem to be very similar - i agree that he has inherited a lot of his arrogance and stubbornness from his Dadi ... but i see a big difference - don't know if i can do justice but here goes:
Dadi sees what she 'wants to see', chooses to believe what she has chosen to see and then that is right and every one has to follow
ODB chooses to believe what he actually 'sees' - what he has proof of being right - so he is not as bad (or short sighted as his dadi)

Another point - when ODB said 'he was not like his dad - nor would ever be' - i felt the CVs were being very interesting - they were opening the game and it could go both ways -
one - he might have the basic characteristics of his dad but he would never be 'bad' - never ruthless to his loved ones - not cruel! so meaning if his dad was a 'bad character' he would never be like him
two - if we have seen only part of the flashbacks - if there is more to the story than the obvious - "dad was a cheat - caused mom's death" AND if his Dad was actually a good guy who was framed or misunderstood - then he will realize how much like his dad he is and want to be like him

ooohhh me like this blast from the past track :D:D

As for the parents of all three being linked and ODB's father being involved with Shyam's sister seems way to fantastic to me - too unbelievable - but then this is a soap and timelines are not the CVs strong point!
But one thing i am sure of - both sets of parents did not die at the same time - not by the original timelines and ages given

    1. bitwa always said that he believes what he sees.. yet he does not see the whole picture, nor want to see the whole picture.. i guess dadi is the same. when bitwa sees that mirror held before him, i mean he sees himself in his dadi, his transformation will be complete.

    2. Jaya

I seem to agree with Mona. Although the very basic traits might be the same, dadi and bitwa are very different.

Arnav made a mistake night and in realisation of the same is more than willing to accept he made a mistake and apologise to khushi as much as necessary and if necessary fir as long as he lives. I can't see that in dadi.

Arnav in his anger and hate could not humiliate khushi in public but dadi doesn't seem to care. Let alone khushi, arnav never had a problem with people's social strata. He never had problem with Akash marrying Payal although she was much less well to do than Akash. He never had a problem with Mami's background either. Whatever 'aukad' stuff he said to khushi was to drive her away he never really meant it. On the other dadi has no qualms about it. She completely believes in social strata and people of certain class should not go near the temple and all....

Although i understand that MM and payal are not directly related but if she knows MM and is seeing her after 14 years what stops her from asking mami 'how are you?' isn't it the fact that mami comes from a different family background....

Arnav I think is much more grounded....

    3. Mona,
Oooh! I had this same thought."AND if his Dad was actually a good guy who was framed or misunderstood - then he will realize how much like his dad he is and want to be like him" -or- can never be as forgiving or sacrificing as his dad?

Want it to be something like that.
Right now, doesn't look like that since he refuses to hear his dad's name mentioned in his house. But I certainly hope it turns out to be like that.

On Arnav and dadi: ASR is lucky he has K in his life to point out his mistake in a gentle and understanding way. She does not expect any thing at all in return. I feel, K has made all the difference in ASR now. Without her, he and dadi'd have been the same.
What I am waiting to see is- how'd dadi respond when she knows about what Khushi has done for both her grandchildren.
Won't she apologise to Khushi then?
Agree with UJ on dadi's problem with people's social difference.

    4. Su,

"can never be as forgiving or sacrificing as his dad?"...
if we look at it this way...it would have meant Arnav's dad taking on the blame for something he never did or being forgiving of someone who wrecked havoc in his life....and Arnav has seen that and has not forgiven him or Arnav does not know that

somehow the last scene when Arnav stood beside Khushi had a lot of meaning...if we look at the scene juxtaposed alongside ur comment above....

    5. UJ,
Arnav humiliated Khushi in public a lot at the start of the show ... right from shutting her up for the night in Sheesh Mahal, releasing the videos, then in office dropping her from the first floor, making her stand like a coat rack, direct cars in the parking lot in pouring rain ... he had decided she was a gold digger, and he was out to prove her so. So he IS a lot like his Dadi in that ... Even after marriage, telling the guards at office that she is not to be let in ... telling his office staff not to order food from her service ...

The social consciousness, or lack of it, I would give Nani the credit for ... she has accepted Manorama as her bahu, despite the circumstances, she and Anjali always gave Khushi respect and affection even before Arnav came into the equation, even the way Nani refers to HP and all the other Prakash's at home ... when Arnav was angry with any servant, which he WAS many times, it was an aberration, not the norm of the rest of the household. So that is a product of Nani's upbringing ...
and anyway, in terms of these attitudes, we are ALL a product of our upbringing, they are not inherited, but ingrained. Arnav's mother was Nani's daughter, he could have learned those traits from her as well. Just as he imbibed arrogance and attitude from Dadi, and probably his Dad, but he is not Dadi's carbon copy ... his own mother, Nani and now Khushi's influence have given his character that softer edge.

Arnav has realised NOW that he made a mistake that night ... or rather, he realised slowly over the kidnapping track ... but for four months, he refused to even question, let alone change his mind about what he had seen on the terrace.
And again, he learned to apologise from Khushi ... he is slowly starting to make up for all the mistakes he made, beginning with apologising that he hurt her, telling Nani that night what Shyam had told him ... he didn't tell Khushi that earlier ... and now saying a sorry for the forced marriage ... his taking the responsibility was just that.

Besides I do believe that education does bring enlightenment regarding things like social strata and class ... and Arnav is highly educated. For Dadi to have the attitudes regarding social strata and people of a certain class not going near a temple is understandable - not likeable, but understandable ... for an educated man of today to have those attitudes would be shocking.

Was Arnav's dad misunderstood? If so, this is a story in its own right and may unfold in the future ... I think if he was misunderstood, he is still MU'ed ... and clearing that MU may be the next, or next to next ... or next to next to next :) track .. you get the idea ... way into the future, if the show lasts that long!

  35. dadi went to ashram to do penance for her life's mistakes. i am assuming that her bahu died in "that haadsa". dadi gave her son's kids to her bahu's mom.

i am assuming that the kids were kicked out of the house after both their parents died. so after the kids were kicked out, dadi could not take the injustice, went to raizada house to ask devyani to take care of the kids, and went to live in the ashram rather than with the evil chacha.

    what say?

That's exactly what i thot that dadi went to ashram out of her guilt, her peetal ka bartan if you like.

I think chacha has more role to play in that disaster than just throwing the children out.

    2. well, yes.. hence called the evil chacha.
my point was, there is more to dadi than the hard strict exterior, just like it was the case with ASR..

  36. when i saw the epi again, the Khushi-Arnav scene and her remark of whether the man is a stranger or someone known to her, a song from Anupama occurred to me....the situation vastly here tho.....the common thread in both being the emotionally scarred individuals

    kuchh dil ne kaha
    kuchh bhi nahin
    aisi bhi baatein hoti hain
    aisi bhi baatein hoti hain

    leta hai dil angdaayian
    is dil ko samjhaaye koi
    armaan na aankhein khol dein
    rusvaa na ho jaaye koi
    palkon ki thandi sej per
    sapno ki pariyan soti hain
    aisi bhi baatein hoti hain
    aisi bhi baatein hoti hain

    dil ki tasalli keliye
    jhoothi chamak jhoothi
    jeevan toh suna hi raha
    sab samjhe aaye hain bahaar
    kaliyon se koi poochhta

  37. Dia, had to comment on the edit today. everyday i think about writing wonderful edit.. but today's writeup hit somewhere inside of me. PERFECT. you did full justice to the perfect episode.. and seriously, what an episode! it feels as though dadi has been part of the family for a long time. SC does not feel like a new entry into the story.. none of the actors have any awkwardness with her.. exactly like a family member, and such a strong character that we do not miss the rabba ve.. WOW. CVs, take a bow!
