Mirror Image - Dadi-Buaji talk through Garima's eyes ... a mother scornfully denigrating another woman for being of loose character and entrapping her innocent son ... out for what she can get.
Was Garima the other woman?
Mirror Image - Dadi-Buaji talk through Arnav's eyes ... a reflection of another arrogant, obstinate person, who accused the innocent and let the guilty off scot-free ... and the innocent continues to suffer for the sins of another.
Loved Buaji today for standing up to Dadi and breaking off the rishta ... of course that was what Dadi wanted X( ... loved that Buaji and Khushi between them told Arnav what had happened, including Dadi's role ... loved that Arnav took immediate steps to rectify matters ... and told DD he knew what she was up to and that it wouldn't work ...
Loved that Arnav finally started to realise slowly what he had put Khushi through for the last so many months ... and how she had returned all the hurt he had given her only with trust, caring and almost her life ... realisation dawning slowly, he still has a long way to go ... but in the precap, he at least made a start ...
VLR is already back in RM? X( Can't we deal with one villain at a time? :(
Thoughts:
Redemption = Realization + Regret + Reparation
Reparation already started, probably as early as the day after the forced wedding, or a very few days later ... after saying he would not acknowledge her as wife in public, Arnav proceeded to do exactly that, in front of family, neighbours and society, and even in front of random public at temple.
But realization of what exactly he had done to Khushi, how badly he had mistreated her, and how unjustly, never really registered in Arnav's mind. Arnav is a just and righteous person at heart, he always does what he feels is right, so he has very little occasion to regret ... but when he realizes that he was wrong, on those rare occasions, his regret is instantaneous and huge. The way it was the first time he apologized to Khushi about those unkind remarks about her parents.
Yet so far he never really realized what he had done to Khushi by the forced marriage, how completely he had ruined her, how much hurt, pain and humiliation she suffered because of that one unthinking, unjust action of his ... without waiting to find out the complete truth, he acted as judge, jury and executioner ...
Then he realized he was wrong in that judgement, he had made a huge mistake. The mistake of not believing Khushi, the mistake of not trusting his love, of trusting the wrong person. And being Arnav, he took all the steps he felt necessary to correct the mistake. Punish the real guilty party, declare Khushi innocent of all charges laid against her, declare her worthy of his trust and confirm her place as his wife in every sense of the word, in his heart, his home and his family. Balance redressed, justice served, end of story. Now he and his beloved wife can live happily ever after.
But that isn't all he did to Khushi. And so far, he never even realized it. Now comes Dadi, and with her rigidity, her old-fashioned beliefs and her hypocrisy, she levels exactly the same charges on Khushi that he once did, she holds up a mirror to his judgements of the past ... and shows him, to his dawning horror, what exactly he did to Khushi, the extent of the misery he put her through for no fault of her own.
And to his even greater anguish, if he confesses to the enormity of his mistake, it will probably rebound again only on Khushi ... that even he, with all his love and trust on Khushi, was able to misunderstand her so quickly ... surely he had good reason to do so, because Arnav Singh Raizada is always right.
So Dadi levels all the charges on Khushi that he himself once did, and this time, he hurts even more than Khushi ... because he knows them to be wrong, he knows now how wrong he was, and now he can see the effect it had on an innocent girl. He sees her hurting more and more, and he feels her hurt, because it is his own, her pain is his.
And for a righteous man like Arnav, this punishment is worse than anything else. This is his true Road to Redemption Walk ... the journey to forgive himself. His realization, his regret and his reparation ...
The other mirror image today - a reflection of the past ... Garima watches the Buaji-Dadi confrontation with shock and horror ... is it a reflection of her own past, or that of her near and dear one? An echo of a previous confrontation fourteen years ago? Every word that Dadi said, could have been said by her fourteen years ago for her son in place of her grandson ...another time, another place ... another woman standing accused, while the son of the house was absolved of all blame, because men are 'kaan ka kacha' ... what a great excuse :(
Loved both Buaji and Nani for insisting that Arnav was equally at fault ... if not more ... Thank God in front of Dadi's regressive soch, there are some more progressive thoughts also.
Loved the ArHi hug and Khushi clinging to Arnav, finding her solace and her support in his arms ... tumhi ne dard diya hai, tumhi dava dena ...
Poor girl, was she scared that the marriage would actually be called off?:(
Loved that last look between them as Arnav starts to leave and then turns back to see Khushi looking at him from the door ... she said she would wait for him and wait she will ... and the determination in his eyes says he will make sure she doesn't wait for too long ...
Episode update will be late :)

I am out .... Did not see any comment here ..... Went to IF .... Got scared and came back .... Someone please tell me what happened???
ReplyDeleteAm still watching Sam, will be back but there is my first and only gloatwa ever..(i am not yet sre of this tho)..
ReplyDeleteGarima is connected to their past...no hint just Garima getting shocked to hear Dadi speak to Bua at their house..
part update
Dadi goes ballistic at GH....
Bua retorts well and cancels wedding..
Dadi goes back and tell RM the marriage has been called off by bua
Arnav rushing to GH..
yahan tak dekha.....will get back with rest
Rekha,
DeleteI too feel Garima is the link to Arshi's past. Made a post in IF way back in December. Here it is.
http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2229843
Don't know what the connections is but now seeing Dadi I feel that this evil woman has something to do with Arnav's mom's untimely death. She would have made her feel so guilt for her husband's transgressions that the poor woman would have, in a moment of weakness, give in and killed herself. Garima's angry reaction to Khushi saying that Arnav's mom committed suicide makes it even more intriguing now. Is Arnav's mom really alive, the reason why the garland fell from her side during the barsi? Maybe she shot herself but was not really dead. She may have been unconscious and the corpse of another woman exchanged in her place by the evil Dadi who wanted to get rid of her. Maybe Garima may have witnessed the switch but may been blackmailed into maintaining her silence. Dadi may not have counted on her own son killing himself after hearing that his wife is no more. Maybe that is why she has locked herself in an ashram all these years and it must have pricked her conscience that she was responsible for losing her son but the woman may have been hard hearted enough not let that get her down.
I know this theory sounds ridiculous but Garima's mute reaction to Arnav's wanting to marry Khushi again seems to indicate that there is nothing socially or ethically wrong in their impending the socially approved union. Otherwise Garima may have kicked up a furore. She was only shown being scared of Dadi.
Who knows maybe Shashi's progressive improvement in health may be to clear all the cobwebs surrounding Arnav's past rather than unveiling the evilness of Shyam.
"Arnav rushing to GH.."
DeleteRekha baccha yahi karega till he gets his khushi back at RM as Raizada Bahu. Uske baad toh I doubt he is going to let her walk even a bit..... ROFL. RMwasis kosenge the day when they fell for DD's trap and forced him to perform all the rituals.
Opti....interesting thots there...and i am also hopeful that the improved Shashi clears aspects relating to Arnav' past as well.....
DeleteI did not buy the Shyam' sister angle indicated by Doods (i may be proved wrong too) becos of the garima link.....i feel there has to be a way to link Garima to this as only that will give credence to the Khushi-Arnav past link...If Shyams' sister is involved in any form...it has to be thru the Garima/khushi angle...how i have no idea tho....and i lack the creativity to weave that link
Finally finally finally!! I've been dying for Arnav to have these specific flashbacks!! Shiddat after shiddat finally finally he has the FB's I wanted!! Thank you gul!!
ReplyDeleteAlso loved how he promptly fixed what DD tried to ruin!!!
And creepwa skulking around!!
Oh man love the episode!! Love Shyam and DD they are the ultimate cupids!! Have to hand it to them:-)
And the precap !! Finally a conversation! Or atleast Arnav acknowledging
Today was total gloatwa for me - ok more like shiddat finally realised rather than gloatwa but YAY!!!
gargi, creepwa slinking around is actually omnious.. now that the will problem has been resolved, he can just kill off arnav bitwa and everything would be set.. i really hope creepwa does not think about that angle anytime soon..:D
Deleteyeah a lot of shiddats realized today!
oh no he won't not until a certain person takes off again. by the look of it he might never esa character aur kahan milenga :)))))))
DeleteSama ...
ReplyDeleteDadi goes to GH calls Khushi a number of humiliating things ... Buaji defends her and calls off wedding and sends DD off... Garima sees DD and hides and when she comes in gets pissed off with Khushi for no apparent reason and slaps her...
DD smugly tells RM wasis that the wedding is off everyone gets upset Arnav says nothing doing its on I'll fix it
Goes to GH gets upset about the slap but holds his tongue on khushi's insistence and just declares that he'll be there with full family and Shagun the next day
Returns tells ecstatic family it's on and has a little showdown with DD and clarifies to her that she can't stop this...
Arnav goes to his room and has the all important flashbacks ... How he married her... How he threw her out on their SR... How Garima slapped her and he did nothing... How she begged him to believe her ... How she risked her life for him... How he almost ran over her... She fell off a freaking cliff because of him and now full circle she got slapped again because of him...
And he has to see her and apologise because he finally realises just what he's done to her...
As he's heading out he sees a shadow moving ...'whos there?' but Shyam doesn't reply just hides....
SN: DD is the ultimate cool customer... Respect man she could give Shyam a serious run for his money for title of best villain...
'but Shyam doesn't reply just hides....' Gargi, *rofl* i know u dint mean it as a joke, but i lol'd at that sentence
DeleteHahha i did!! Come on if you see a creepy shadow lurking around what are the odds you're going to get a response to 'who's there?' lol... It's like those redundant things we all automatically say lol
Deletehahahaha.....my brainwa is on vacation today :P
DeleteHaha ... I didn't notice the 'Shyam doesn't reply' bit till I read Geetu's comment :))
DeleteI loved the flashbacks !!!! :))) Finally something hit Arnav hard, as to what all he has put Khushi through or no fault of hers!
Thing is today Arnav was back to the guy we loved because of dadi
ReplyDeleteA good villain is so important... A good villain makes a hero look good...
"A good villain is so important... A good villain makes a hero look good"... hahahaha
Deletesoo true Grags!! are we glad Shyam is back!! i think this is the only show where the audience gets happy to see the return of a villian..
amazing rapport dadi and arnav share.. he finds it so easy to be ASR when facing her.. and the convos are always sizzling! great actors, both of them!
Deleteexactly ... her smile and coaxing her wish out of buaji was creepy and done very nicely in telly world where shouting match in such scene is a must.
DeleteOh what an episode!! i was cringing through the first part! as expected Garima played a part in their pasts..poor Khushi..second slap for no fault of hers..is it me or did it seem like Garima may have been the reason behind that suicide..or else that reaction and slap have no meaning!!
ReplyDeleteLoved that battle between DD and ASR..now he knows what she is trying to do..he will watch her every move and make sure she does nothing to ruin his wedding!
Buaji likes ASR..she knows that though he is short tempered..he is a good man! so she wont be a hurdle!
me loved that hug! it comes soo naturally now..
is their house like a dharmsala or something?? people just come and go whenever they want! Creepwa is the villian and all but how did he get him? darvaza lock nahi karte kya ye log?? that din even masala mama got inside without anyone noticing!! strange!!
the best part for me were those FB's and the precap! all our shiddat's granted finally!! at least now we get a glimpse into ASR..first step taken bitwa..keep going!!you have a lot to make up for!!
I have a request..can one of you give a small update about the episode tomorrow?? i am traveling back to bangalore tomorrow night and will miss that apology..i'd really appreciate it if you can!! thanks!!
obviously, she removed her past wala gussa on that poor girl...khud me himmat nahi hai DD ko face karneki....m sure she hid herself thinking of payaliya's marriage....
DeleteBuaji is a sweet heart, she refused cause of DD and made sure that ASR knows that....
RM ka security hai ya nahi...ASR, man, u were kidnapped, ur Kamina Jeeja is still out there...do something for the security...maybe the watchman doesnt know that Shyamwa was thrown out, that's why he lets him in.....
Girs, don't you remember VLR said once that he used to climb the pipes to enter RM to meet Anjali secretly when they were courting ... he's a slithery snake, he can probably squeeze through the sewer pipes :)))
DeleteI think now DD is not going to go for shagun, Garima and DD will play hide and seek till the wedding, and the dhamaka will be on the wedding day.
SHIDDAT ... dear Godjee, please let ArHi get well and truly married before any bomb blasts!!! Where's Shwethu?!!! Need her to have a quick chat with her Godjee and pull some strings :)
Deletesewer pipes *ewww*
will Garima agree for a re-marriage...she is all bt hiding the secret, she wudnt want her secret to come-out and damage payaliya's marriage, me thinking she'll blackmail khushi to say no n return to lucknow for good....
But ASR is not giving-up, unless garima is related to his mom's suicide drama.....
complete marriage SHIDDAT!! no blast in the middle of phere..
Deletehumo bhi SHIDDAT !!!
DeleteLike Anita, i have a request, can someone do an update for Friday and Monday.....will be travelling on a short trip over the weekend...so please...
ReplyDeleteI saw an earlier post from Dia on her travel plans....Dia..hope u have a great vacation...
Hope for the R&R posts and bak bak to continue...( being so selfish) have fun....
I leave next Wednesday, Rekha, I'll make a couple of posts in advance to keep the discussions going, but I should have internet access mostly ... my daughter and I made it a point to search for hotels with internet :) We travel with three laptops and an ipad between the four of us :))) Not to mention the numerous cell phones - crazy family! :)))
DeleteSomeone please update next week onwards for the next two weeks ... my posts will be late.
hehehe i meant the R&R posts in jest....u have a grt time....abot internet access in hotels.....its almost now a necessity...hain na?
Deletei am off on friday and back on tue....take care
first thots after watching today's epi....
ReplyDelete1) Garima or her sister have a deep connection...thats much is evident.
2) Dadi may stay away from the function tommo....so garima-dadi faceoff will be avoided for now
3) Khushi's speech on Amma's right on her had some resonance for me in the epi..it was not just to stop Arnav from approaching them...to me it harked back to the day when he said i cannot call anyone "Amma"..as also the day when Khushi said u dont have to answer anyone for me...
4) Garima making no attempt to stop the alliance...per se.on Arnav's visit..did i detect a sense of joy/pride when he said, he will come to ask her hand in marriage? how deep is the past connection, my interest is all piqued...
5) Is the FB trigger for Arnav..a result of physical pain that Khuhsi endures.....altho it was high time, i could not get the answers for his sudden "jhunjhalahat" (no eng equivalent, i could think of)
Rekha, Khushi's speech bt amma, acares me, what if amma asks her to sacrifice her dream and move back to lucknow, so that amma's secret stays intact and payaliya's marriage is safe....
Deleteall these days, she was with him, it was just a matter of making her realize, so he was all good......now that the whole world is creating problems, now he has realized what he has got them in....the terrace thing was such a big fiasco....if only he had asked her, none of this wud've happened
the thot did cross my mind but.....i could not actually fathom Garima's exp while Arnav was speaking to buaji...idk if it was poor acting, i almost read it as sign of relief at her end.....ofc, i may be totally wrong, why shld she feel that, i have no idea.....
DeleteRekha, you're not alone, I too felt that relief on Garima's face, and almost pride ... as though happy that this time round things would be different.
DeleteAnd the very pained expression when Dadi said something about 'what such girls are called' ... Garima conveyed a lot today, I haven't had time to re-watch and analyse her expressions.
I felt that Khushi's speech about Amma not being her real mother was to re-emphasize that there is no relation between Khushi and Garima, in case that had been forgotten ... which also strengthened my feeling that Garima herself was the other woman.
Maybe the twist was the same - she was unaware that Arnav's dad was a married man - like Shyam-Khushi ... the difference being that she WAS in love with him ... and when she found out, she tried to leave him, he promised he would leave his wife and marry her, and Dadi stepped in and put paid to that ... He promising to leave his wife triggered her suicide, Dadi paying off Garima and sending her away, triggered his. And somehow Khushi's mom lost her life in trying to protect Garima, or Arnav's dad ... leaving Garima so guilty that he had to take care of Khushi like her own child.
Lots of loopholes here, haven't had time to think it out :) I'm uncomfortable with mom committing suicide on Anjali's wedding day without a major trigger ... or maybe again, it was murder disguised as suicide.
dia i love ur garima connection
Deleteab aaya hain oont pahad ke neeche..finally thandak in my kaleja. ASR realizes his mistakes and apologizes. Now I am confident that he will never leave his Khushi..no matter how much DD and KJ want. Untill today I was not confident!..now if CVs bring up some other MU between them due to the past, that will be really stupid in my opinion. Now is the time for them to fight together.
ReplyDeleteSukhi
Sukhi, oonth nahi truck pool ke neeche :P
DeleteJust came back from a reception. Thanks for the update all. Oooooh I want to see this.
ReplyDeleteHang on, how does DD know that the house and land has been transferred into Khushi's name? I presume they are talking about Buaji's house here........but how does she know? Even ASR has not made any reference to this, openly.....
ReplyDeleteLoved the precap - another dhamkedaar friday to watch.... :)
DD knowing Buaji's address points towards Shyam.....he has a insider in Roy's office as well, remember him getting the will thingy.....
Deleteyes, the dadi-shyam connection is being strongly proven..
DeleteHave no doubts about the Dadi-Shyam duo. Shyam MUST know about the past to convince Dadi to come out of the Ashram in order to "stop the mistakes of the past repeating themselves" - if Dadi's actions are a mirror image of Arnav, then this would be one hell of an opportunity for her to redeem herself and assuage her guilty (?) conscience.
DeleteDia, I know you had an alternate view of Khushi's ILU scenario but consider this - from a story point of view, the lovebirds are well aware of each other's feelings. The first time ASR mentioned ILU to Khushi, it was to provide her with the fuel to move heaven and earth to bring her husband back home, safe and sound. This time around, it has to provide ASR with the added impetus to bring Khushi home, safe and sound as Mrs. ASR - common factor between the 2 scenes? Shyam the anti-cupid trying to keep them apart....
I really, really do hope that the marriage goes through without a BFTP to mar the whole event - but then, I might just be too optimistic here :( from a story telling point of view. The wedding WILL go through because this will be the trump card that Dadi & Anji will use to bring Shyam in2 RM - my guess is that ASR will THEN find out that Anji and Shyam had maintained contact throughout and Dadi's involvement will come to light which should lead to the rift between siblings.
One other interesting thing is that we know both ARHI are orphans and BOTH carry surnames that do not reflect their respective paternal lineage. Arnav is a Malik, what is Khushi's real surname? I guess that is why Shashi is now on the mend - he will be needed in full form when this part of the story unfolds...perhaps in another 3 months time?
Looking forward to tonight...........
Aki, loved your thoughts today ... esp the part about Arnav's ILU being the trigger to push Khushi to bring him back, and now Khushi's ILU will be the major push for him to bring her back :))) Very well said!!!
DeleteAnd also very true - neither Arnav or Khushi carry their father's names ... never really thought of that. That's why Garima never made the connection till now ... will Khushi's father's name also be a trigger for some revelation?
the whole RTR in one episode.. and they show satyamev jayate instead of IPK in the 11pm timeslot. a sneaky way to increase TRPs?
ReplyDeleterandom thoughts..
1. i think dadi was indeed pulled out of the ashram, primed on all relevant matters, then sent to RM -by the VLR.
2. it seems he neglected to mention that khushi and payal are sisters, hence dadi is utterly ignoring payal and treating her like the shadow she is.. and not with disdain like she would treat khushi's sister.
3. arnav brought GH property in khushi's name? awwww..
4. even his nani and di are against a marriage without pheres.. why did they not ask about it when they first came home, or at least when they forgave them?("put garlands on and called it a marriage iike children")
5. khushi is being called a **** by dadi.. and everyone else, this opens arnav's eyes to the sacrifice that khushi made because of his insistence.. (when at last he wants her to have equal status as him, he finds that she lost all status because of what he did?)
6. shyam comes into the house in the middle of the night..why would he do that? when he can actually meet any RM -vasi outside during daytime? must be to meet dadi..
I read this prediction on IF..a little random, but I like it because I have this wish that ASR calls Garima Amma. And he has said that he can not address anyone except his mom..amma..I am still trying to think if it can be possible..so ladies please dont throw chappals at me if I have missed something very obvious..I swear IPK takes so much of my thinking hard disk!
ReplyDelete(1) What if Arnav's dad actually loved Garima! Daadi came to know of it and again assuming Garima doesn't have good sanskar and also not rich society, like them, somehow broke the relationship!
(2) she probably forced her son to marry Arnav's mom!
(3) Seeing his betrayal Garima probably married Shashi!
Now, maye Arnav s actually Garima's son with Arnav's dad and Daadi probably forced Arnav's mom to take him in! Although, Arnav's mom was nice to the kids, se couldn't bear the situation and was probably depressed! Then some event happened at Anjali's original wedding...that pushed her over the edge and she killed herself!

DeleteSukhi, Garima being the other woman seems very likely to me too ... but I think she was in love with a married man, hence the parallels from the past. OR, if you're right, Dad loved Garima, Dadi intervened with the same talk of aukat etc, forced Dad to marry her best friend's daughter, but Garima never quite got over the affair ... Dad and Garima carried on for years, and Mom found out some 15-20 years down the line that her husband had been cheating on her all along.
DeleteAm trying to fit in both parallels here, the Dadi-Buaji scene today as well as the Shyam-Khushi scene Arnav saw on the terrace ...
Somehow I don't think Arnav can be Garima's son. Maybe Dadi forced Garima to marry Shashi ... after all, he was no great catch, a widower with a daughter ... or maybe Garima was badnaam after the whole incident and Shashi gave her and her niece a refuge when no one else would take her in, and she married him out of gratitude.
Garima carrying on with ASR's dad makes good story per se but moral angle et al is the issue....actually the timelines is what makes this past so diffi to predict....
Deletewhat happens to be the trigger for the 14 year old event...when the person is already in a marriage for 20 odd years....I hope the CVs have thot thru the timelines properly....
Its here that the Doods didi ka saut theory fits....if i can say so...and i think u have also hinted at it in some post...
What if Garima is Shyam's sister...(forget the other parts of Doods post of babies etc); Garima may not remember how her bro looked like 14 years ago if they had parted 14 years back....of course, i have no idea why he should have harmed his sister's husband Shashi now...bahut locha hain
i know i am going wild with my imagination piggybacking on ur thots ( u did indicate that Shyam can be a quasi-uncle of Khushi in one post) and other thots ...wah kya kichdi hain....
on rewatch off youtube, it is fairly certain that garima knows dadi.. and she slapped khushi to stop her from telling arnav's story to bua..(maybe bua knows the mallik story.. but has not seen dadi.. if khushi tells the story, bua will recognize the malliks..garima does not want that?) and she did react to the "girls charitr" comment..
ReplyDeletesubhadra devi did not tell anyone that she was going to GH. yet everyone accepts that bua broke the marriage.. why?
(bitwa again shaved in the car :D)
How do you ladies do it. How did you know?
ReplyDeleteI read all the posts and wonder how you all come out to the correct conclusion.
Absolutely brilliant, and you should all give yourselves a big pat on the back.
lin, which conclusion?
DeleteThat Khushi's mother is involved with Arnav's past
DeleteLin, i wish we could take any credit for that...
Deleteas for me, I read long ago on some website when the serial was to begin that Khushi's mother Garima (she is not her biologial mother) has faced some difficult times including some ignominy in her past.....this was never mentioned in the serial...so i knew if there are sticking to that aspect, it had to come up at some point.
Also, Khushi is linked to Arnav's past is what the 1st promo has always mentioned...so no prizes for guessing there too...
But we have still not cracked the actual connection....atleast it is a maze for me still....
hey Rekha, Garima did mention in the initial episodes that she faced some mud-slinging and doesnt want her daughters to face the same...thats why she sends them to Delhi, this was after ASR released the fashion show footage to the media....
DeleteHey Lin, there is a thread on India-Forums called redux, which deciphers the episode in more details, they say that the cv's leave hints for future track, but decoding this post is also a big task for us commoners :D
but if u go through it, u atleast get a gist of things to come.....
look for doodleberry's post in particular, if u happen to check that thread, here is the link..today she opened the thread....
http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=3150149
Oh....maybe i missed this parts becos i saw these epis online...i do faintly remember garima being angry on the payal marriage fiasco....
Deletebtw why do i get a feeling that Garima being this angry has happened once before too....with Buaji asking her what has brought on this...i can't recall that epi or is it a figment of my imagination..
On redux.....one of the past links quoted there seems to have taken a diff turn, dont u think.....
If Garima has a deep connection with Arnav's past, who is Shyam's sister who has been tom-tommed as the person causing all this havoc in their lives 14 years ago...Thats the reason i don't believe that theory....unless they end up linking the two...
*Rant alert*
ReplyDeleteOn a totally diff note, i am not happy with this sudden pace and hurriedness in this track,....i know we have been waiting for ages for things to move but somehow i see dilution in this love story suddenly and thats making me uncomfortable.....i can't point the exact issue but somehow...the pacing or the treatment has left me feeling very unsatisfied as a viewer....has the PH received some "buck up" or else summons....frm the channel...just rambling.....
the juxtapositon of Arnav's position on the love story and the social stigma issue has been terribly wishy-washy...it had to be dramatic but somehow i am finding it all like loose ends....threatening to fall all over the place....maybe i am being hasty in my view, i hope i am wrong about this
Rekha:
DeleteThey have to, they have no choice. BV has a wedding track, Mahadev is consistent in its ratings. So they are looking at stiff competition.
So they have to push up the marriage track on their own.
Yes it can be slowed down, but in 3-4 weeks they have to be atleast in the 3.5 marks.
Also IPK is their biggest weapon in the 8 o clock slot as well as in terms of online audience popularity.
So the hurry.
Lin - Garima's connection to Payal and Khushi is listed on the SP website. Garima is Payal's step mom and Khushi is an orphan that Garima brings with her after her marriage to Shashi.
ReplyDeleteSukhi - My thoughts exactly on the storyline. Here's my analysis based purely on the name 'Dhruv' that was mentioned early on by Naniji.
"Dhruv" is a Sanskrit word that means "non-movable" or "immobile". However, this word is most commonly used to refer "pole star". Association of this word to "Pole star" is typically reasoned by a mythological story that goes like this - Long long ago there was a king named Uttanpad who had two wives - Suruchi (whom he loved) and Suniti (whom he hated). Suruchi's son was called 'Uttam' and Suniti's son was called 'Dhruv'. One day when Dhruv was sitting on King's lap, Suruchi came there and she scolded Dhruv for sitting on King's lap. She said that since Dhruv is the son of Suniti (whom the king hated), he is not allowed to sit on king's lap. On listening this Dhruv started crying and went to his mother Suniti. Suniti told him to pray lord Vishnu. When Dhruv prayed Lord Vishnu, Lord Vishnu gave him blessing and told him - "I will make a place for you in the sky from where nobody can remove you". And then he made Dhruv the 'pole star'.
Based on this, I am thinking that something very similar happened to Garima or one of sisters. Dadiji didn't let her son get married to Garima/other woman and married him off to Naniji's daughter. They probably had a son, Dhruv, who is Arnav's half brother. And 14 years ago when this came to light, Arnav probably sided with the other woman and accepted the responsibility of the son. Hence, DD's recent comment about taking stance with the wrong side and the pride/joy on Garima's face today. Garima is happy that Arnav is standing for what he believes in.
I would really like Arshi to get married and then face whatever drama that follows together. Personally, even though it's not a saas-bahu drama it will become too much if CVs continue to dangle the carrot of their unfinished romance.
Isha
What if the omnipresent 'Aman' is this half brother???
DeleteGirls,
ReplyDeleteRandom question, is the show ending? Pls. let it not be..
Unlikely Cheng.....IPKKND is still one of the top 10 shows and is aired 3 times during, what is considered, prime time by advertisers. Besides, it's a serial with strong following (just look at us or take a peek in2 IF, Youtube) AND an equally strong story line. Their presentation is sometimes uneven for which the entire fan following rants until the PH rights itself, but that is a minor issue given their overwhelming strengths...........Happy Viewing.............
DeleteI think they'll hit 500 episodes or round about there....
Delete500 and more .... if SP can have a sorry excuse of a serial like Ruk Jana Nahi without any TRP at all ... given the recognition they get worldwide with IPK. Only if cvs let khushi be and make anjalis character a bit strong (well they did try, DB failed them miserably majorly with her media stunt and bumplessness) they are the female leads ... they need to be flawless(their character sketch) or as strong as their antagonists for a script which goes beyound saas-bahu and cookery drama. There is no way SP will axe IPK.
DeleteThanks guys! Now I can breathe.:D
DeleteOne more thing.....IPK is also one of the few serials frm the SP stable that can actually boast of a storyline...others are all instance based serials....running accounts of daily life, cycled, recycled, hashed, mashed and served on prime time......
DeleteIf SP is concerned about giving a chance to some story telling initiative, it will let IPK continue for surely more time
Rekha thats true its the only serial at the present which gives me a feel "wish I could read it". Then I remind myself "its not my unabridged classic" :(
DeleteFrankly I don't think Shyam and Dadi are linked...I think we have two very separate and different types of antagonists...
ReplyDeleteOnly one on the inside and one on the outside(though he seems to have no trouble at all getting inside...)...
Ironically both Shyaam and Arnav picked the same night to sneak off to their sasurals...lol..
As far as a Garima is concerned she or perhaps Khushi's real mum (though I'd put my money on Garima)...i'd wager that Garima was accused of being the other woman in Arnav's fathers life....And in a repeat of todays events 15 years ago Arnav's dad strayed and fell in love with Garima who didn't reciprocate but nevertheless had her name dragged through the mud...(pretty much like Shyaam and Khushi scenario) and Arnav's mum did infact commit suicide because of her husbands infidelity (perceived or actual).... the only thing is why did Arnav's dad also commit suicide....a) he didn't actually stray but the circumstances were stacked against him and once his wife killed herself and children disowned him he didn't have the will to live....b) he did stray even though Garima didn't reciprocate and realized what he had done to his family and chose to kill himself....
I think its safe to say the similarities between Arnav's dad and Shyaam end there because far from taking his own life Shyaam will do anything- even commit first degree murder- to save his own skin...
The question for Arhi is ...
a. Can they withstand the Truth....When Arnav come to know that the last 14 years of regret, pain and bitterness were caused in part by Khushi's mother (step or real) will he be able to handle it and accept her despite this unbearable connection....
b. WHen will the truth come out?....unfortunately have a feeling it'll be before the all important pheras...and to keep the story going there will be further Arhi divide...Because this impacts al of them...not just Arnav but Anjali and Nani too...
Hmmm....
"Ironically both Shyaam and Arnav picked the same night to sneak off to their sasurals" ROFL
DeleteI like option B for Sr. Mallik now that he is reflecting shyaam I cannot think of him anything other than black and given the mother ... hhmmmm
Gargi..
Deletewhen the 1st promo was aired...i was a at a loss, how could a child have been really responsible for pain in someones past...it was mind boggling...
the question that u have asked is more the actual issue:
of how one or the other responds to this new crisis when it hits them...the past when it rears its head
Gul had chosen to spend a bulk of the episodes after marriage to drive home the building of the trust in Arnav...i hope it counts for something when the ___ hits the roof
rekha promo still haunting eh!!!
DeleteSama....the promo by itself was not what piqued my interest....i have fallen in the trap of "different" love stories far too often to bite the bait.....
Deletei was more interested that San was in a pivotal role...so i read up the sites....learnt it had a working title of vaidehi....was not too impressed with that really...thot of it as some sob saga.....then the promos came up....and i saw the "kaash mein tumse nafrat and mohabbat" prmo and they got me interested....but i actually watched the serial Guesthouse episode thereabouts and then went back and watched all old epis
I read all related sites on IPK like a maniac and then i also chanced upon R&R ....a serendipity really and the rest they say is history...
Thanks Rekha and Gargi. I love you(s) dammit!! >:D<
ReplyDeleteShopping went smoothly otherwise IF ne toh dara diya tha *phew*
Dia superb thoughts *applause* but if that means I need to see khushi's breakdown the one after the wedding all over again to get that ear piercing howl from Arnav cvs I DON"T WANT IT!!!
Overview of episode looked more like Arnav running from RM to GH to RM to be back to GH again to hold on to his dear life - KHUSHI. I love it, dammit!
Aaaaaaah the sensitive khushi who knows what she feels and what she wants for her beloved ones. She knows her man, immediately takes her stance to clarify whatever misunderstanding Buaji might have. She also begs him to see beyond just the mark and her physical hurt. He does not get it but she will have to keep on trying. She is in with him for life, she will have to for both of them.
Cvs shiddat was to get THE Khushi together. You are giving glimpse of old khushi one by one. She was ripped of one by one at every step, one blow after another. Only the Man himself can restore her back by righting all that he wronged. From precap mission definitely seems to have started and no half assumptions anymore. She needs his words. We need words too cvs. Abhi ke liye chota sa ILUD aap ke liye!
Cvs if this fast pace is to get khushi together so that you can show her strong while she fight the past - I dare to think so as you are on a damage control spree, khushi is one chronic damage - I will love you the best, dammit!!
Daiyya Ho ke kya kehna ... phir se wahi baat ... The most loved, laughed and adored villain of tellyland. Only IPK can deliver something like this.
Dragon Dadi evil much..... what a creepy smile ewwwww .... No wonder she shaped a chachaji and now the great "apan baap". Children do take after their mother. If she thinks a man can do whatever sin he likes because he is a man then he definitely will.
A very sorry example .... don't throw tomatoes. I have ranted almost whole my life about this.
My mother thinks it ok if my brother/father (basically the male species of the family) don't know how to make their own beds. So they don't till date. Though they know how to iron cloths, use every household gadgets (well almost), help decorate a room or cook something to lighten up mom/wife/sister's mood and sometimes just a helping hand on a busy day. Weird much!!!!
"Tumhe chaiye. Lets do it. Karke khatam karte hain!!!" *sigh*
ReplyDeleteBest dialogue for me yesterday..
DeleteIf only Barun had spoken it more clearly somehow...Everyone would have understood what it meant.
Dunno what the fuss it, but since you are keen, Let us just do it and finish this thing off....I am doing it only for you.
awwwwwwwwwww.
Yep, I wish he had spoken it more clearly, and emphasized it more ... that was an important one, that he went along with it because it was what she wanted all along. Otherwise he could very easily have put his foot down for a registered wedding ... no reeti rivaj at all because he doesn't believe in them.
DeleteBarun, DIALOGUE DELIVERY AND ENUNCIATION PLEASE!!!! Director sahab, please take care!
I saw the scene again.....more than delivery and enunciation (which make the problem acute tho) is the the clipped dialogues written for that scene..
DeletePartly the reason could be Arnav' trigger for FB scene had not yet happened so made this scene very matter-of-fact...that the only expl i can think of
Dia....your thots answered my questions on what triggered that FB session.....in that light appreciated ur title much better than when u first penned ur edit....
ReplyDeleteMy feeling is that FBs also needed to include his accusations.....they made it a stop-start affair....tho i agree they could not have added every FB..anyways....my doubt answered..tkhs...again..

ReplyDeletehaayyyeee what blast they had shooting for the scene.

Ahhhhhhhhh, huggggggggggggggggs everyone, I Remeber when we were just around 70000 when I started.
DeleteI love you all dammit.
OMGGGG ... I noticed a few days ago when we were around 298,000 plus, and I thought we would reach 300k by the weekend :)))
DeleteHUGGGGGGGGS to all .. you girls ROCK!!!
Let us take a moment to appreciate the following:
ReplyDelete1. Carpenters and the furniture makers of the world especially the ones whose products we use in our home and office and be glad that we were not stuck with a bed and stool that broke so easily.
2. The chowkidaar and security personnel who are more vigilant than we give them credit for compared to the ones at Raizada house, who have no qualms in letting in Dadi, Masala Mama, Shyam and not even bothering to inform the family beforehand ki You guys have (unwanted & uninvited) guests.
3. Akash bitwa who although had a proud Oh Isn't my mom the best when it comes to being tactless than an angry Why is my mom not more tactful expression...More than made up for that lapse by giving a smiling assurance to Payal (when Arnav Bitwa who told Guptas that he will be there at 10 and told his family that the family will start for the Guptas at 10 using floo powder I am guessing) WHICH I am sure most of you would have missed.
Also since the dialogue drought continued for the second day for Akash Bitwa, here is a song dedication for him:
From the movie lagaan.
O Dialoguewaalay,
Laptop MS-Word/Open Office waalay
Tumre bin hamra kaunon (dialogue) naahin
Humri uljhan suljhaao Bhai & Gul Behen,
Tumre bin hamra kaunon naahin
ROFL Shweths:-)
DeleteAiyoo..*rofl*.Shweths..please send this to Gul behan...tell her "tumre bin humra kaunon naahin".....
Deletejust like u babes..nothin that Akash does ever misses my attention...as it is, he gets only side glance, one glance, half glance scene...todi na main use miss karungi...eternal akash bitwa fan....just a little behind u...thats all...sweet Shweths..
*ROFL*
DeleteShiddat
ReplyDelete1. Chai under the stars...This HAS TO HAPPEN.
2. Chai prepared by Bitwa...as in Teabags Chai PREPARED BY HIM.He makes her a Teabag Tea and when asked by Khushi he tells her, Well I wanted to take you out for coffee, You do not like Coffee. You prefer Tea.
And since you prefer a personal touch in everything, This teabag tea is the max I can do for you.
3. Either tonite or somewhere in the runup to the marriage he EXPLAINS about his maa ka kangan and gives her the letter.
4. Can he take her out for shopping...Clothes and Jewellery, yup the farak padta hai thing still bugs me.
5. Can all the youngsters go out for an evening somewhere?
continued
ReplyDelete1. Next morning, he is the first one to get ready and is surprised that rest of the family is taking it so slowly and easily.
2. Family deliberately pretending to be doing everything slowly.
3. A crack by Mami on them missing the Live Telecast of Arnav's so called first marriage and hence they are going in for Repeat Telecast or Reshoot of this marriage.
4. Akash Bitwa/NK congratulating Arnav for being the first guy jo apni pehli biwi say doosri baar shaadi kar raha hai.
5. Akash Bitwa kidding with Arnav that since he missed Arnav's wedding as he was busy with his own wedding, he is glad that not only is he invited to Arnav's wedding this time, he will be able to attend it.
6. BROMANCE, BROMANCE, BROMANCE
7. Arnav-Payal scene - Where Payal tells him that although she is not very happy about the fact that the way the whole thing was handled, she is happy that khushi will finally have the dream wedding she wanted and talked about as long as Payal can remember.
And also on a serious note conveying to Arnav that although the Gupta family loved and treated Khushi as their own, Somewhere Khushi mixed up Love and Gratitude in their love towards her and always grew up wanting to return that supposed favor.
This time with Arnav Payal hopes that khushi will be loved and cherished as she should be and maybe he will give her the unconditional love and a sense of belonging that Khushi deserves.
8. Another showdown between Arnav and Dadi in the run up to marriag where Bitwa storms off in his SUV and
Either
He finds himself at the Guptas
OR
Akash & Payal inform Khushi who calls him home on some pretext just so he can cool down a bit.
Reiterating to Arnav and the entire Raizada family, the peace and happiness that khushi is able to give him with her presence in his life
Shiddat Shiddat Shiddat!!!
Deletei so want some Akash and Arnav bonding and some more screen space to them being young and acting their age...a little nok jhok and some teasing from Anjali!....I loved the 'tick tick 1..' and ' aaj tum jhat se pooja me aagaye?' Anjali....
Ooooh shiddat to all you said Shweths!!!
Shwethu, your shiddats are giving me goosebumps ... I SOOOO want to see some at least, if not all!!!
DeleteSHIDDAT SHIDDAT SHIDDAT!!!!
Especially 8 - Arnav-Dadi face off, Arnav says okay, let's call this whole thing off, tomorrow I'm taking Khushi to the registrar's office and we're getting our marriage legally registered.
Anjali and Nani frantically call Khushi to beg her to cool him down ... and Khushi does the needful ... awwww
Making everyone remember again how Khushi was always able to get him to do things he didn't want to do and manage his anger ... can they say this in DD's hearing too, please!
Arnav-Akash bromance and a night out for the youngsters ... Shiddat!!! Even if it's just a scene of the four driving out for an nice evening out, all smiles, and coming back, equally happy :)))
Loved that one about Akash/NK teasing Arnav about marrying his pehli biwi doosri baar :))
Another shiddat ... an Arnav-Khushi night phone call ... where he teases her again, are you missing me? And some seriously flirty conversation, making her all flustered and nervous and blushing again :)))
Shiddat added to all listed .... also, no BDs for ARHI moments (thank u CVs for complying with this request so far) AND please linger over the important ARHI scenes and allow the moments to finish rather than doing a mad dash through the door...Olympics are over...
DeleteSo 10 oclock at Guptas as promised...Starting from 10 o clock from RM to the Guptas, makes you wonder, if Bitwa is going to use Floo powder?
ReplyDeleteMaana his kamina jeeja enters through pipes,
Di is moaning myrtle,
Dadi has come to open the chamber of secrets and
he himself made a choice of being a Griffindor than a Slytherian...Raizada to Mallik...
BUT Floo powder funda is a bit too much, don't you all think?
This past has got many people crazy on IF...
ReplyDeleteOne post that i happened to open..
Total time pass:
IF post : I think Garima is Arnav's mother' sister...
Reply 1: arre, then she will be nani' daughter na?
Reply 2 : wah kya baat hain?
Reply 3 : How come nani does not recognise her daughter?
Original post: then tell who is garima....
I thot i was the only going crazy wondering about the past....now i have some "people" for company
