Poor Khushi ... she just can't catch a break! :) Not content with spilling dirty water all over Dragon Dadi, she then does a trip-fall-catch ... Khushi, sweetheart, save those for Arnav only ... he doesn't mind how many times you fall :)) Apparently Dadi does ...

Also Dadi is one of those strict ultra-religious intolerant types, who doesn't believe servants are human beings ... regardless of what or who she thinks Khushi is, any person, servant or family member doesn't merit such treatment. Not be served by a servant, servant should not be in the mandir ... sheesh woman, such discrimination is completely against all those religious beliefs you claim to follow ...

Okay episode ... just to lay the foundation of the Dragon Dadi track. Too much of Anjali after a while gets boring, because DB has just a few expressions in her kitty ... when she started crying in Dadi's lap. all I could feel was 'there she goes again ...'

Dadi didn't know Anjali was pregnant ... so did she know Anjali was married? Re-married, that is ... the first marriage broke ... If Arnav and Nani knew where Dadi was, they must have informed her about Anjali's marriage ... so she chose not to attend it ...
And Dadi is pleased about the pregnancy ...
Anjali did not know where Dadi was all these years? But Arnav and Nani did ... did they keep it from Anjali? Why?
Dadi asks about Damaadji ... is she asking about nonspecific unknown damaadji? Or specifically about Shyam? What exactly has prompted Dadi to return after 14 years banvaas?
And the new (not) improved watering pot Anjali re-appears ...and runs away at mention of all things unpleasant ... Dadi glares impartially at the rest of the family and goes after favourite daughter ...
Dadi tries to find out the matter ... where is Damaadji? as his mention brought on the flood ...
And Anjali says nothing is all right, everything has gone wrong ... and she missed Dadi so much ...
Anjali is the kind of person who would have wept equal buckets if a pet dog re-appeared after fourteen years ... or fourteen days ... or weeks, or months ... doesn't take much to set her off these days ...:))
And DD reassures her ... I have returned ... everything will be all right now ...
Methinks Dadi should check out all the facts before making such rash promises ... learn from Nani, a much wiser old lady ...
And the battle lines are drawn again ... Arnav Nani on one side ... DD-Anjali on the other ... Anjali looking a trifle guilty already ... Dadi shows her love for her grandson in her eyes, and Arnav's eyes show the same ... (DD is a good actress, her softness clearly showed in her eyes, Barun was a bit iffy in comparison).
And from the precap, the war has started already ... the first battle is about the secret wedding ... loved the way Arnav makes his stand very clear, loved the way Khushi's eyes seek him, and only him, out ...

at first when dadi enquired about anji's pregnancy, i was wondering how come she knows anji is pregnant, but not that arnav is married. and then meri dimaag ki bathi jali, she infered that wen anji hugged her from her baby bump (though invisible to our naked eyes, she felt it thru her 6th sense)

Somewhere I am happy that ArHi accepts there marriage as legal. Its Dadi who is going to force. I don't want 6 months thing come. It will be too uncomfortable to hear what Dadi has to say about it when she already thought of her as Kanij. I don't think so she is going to take adopted daughter lightly.

Just like Dia, i only can go for the old version....becos it is a favourite childhood memory....my love for music, esp hindi film music...started at that stage...i used to savor those lyrics and still find i can relate to all those days in just a flash...

I have a feeling that khushi might again say something to the effect of parting ways as dadiji is also unhappy with their marriage and relationship. So far it was only Di now even dadi is unhappy so she might suggest leaving and ASR might get very upset with her for even thinking about something like that.....

DeleteI just thot arnav's wounds are too raw and so he will not be able to handle khushi asking him about his past. But then with this new found love, trust and understanding you never know he might not get extremely angry but only feel the pain leading to the song.
Agree either of the situation is possible. Although I guess it would be better if khushi asks about Past at least that would mean asking a few things as a wife and jataoing her haq on him and his life.

DeleteArnav's redemption is well and truly begun. He will rectify every wrong he had done to Khushi through his actions. He had always put Khushi down with his aukaat and haisiyat references. Now he will show to Dadi that he is proud to call Khushi his wife, his equal in every respect. He called her characterless. He will show his Dadi that there cannot be a girl with stronger values than Khushi for she always put his family and hers ahead of herself. He had said that he wished he never set his eyes on her. Now he will admit that the day he set his eyes on her was the day that transformed his life for the better. The guy needs to be provoked into righting all the wrong he has done by his ladylove and Dadiji is the right catalyst to goad him into doing it, seeped as she is in traditions and prejudices.

to me an apology is worthless without a follow up.... this time around, arnav will not let Khushi face anything alone, he'll act a her protector and restore her honour in all ways possible.
*SHIDDAT* to all you said and i am sure it will happen this way coz time has come for Arnav to take steps to rectify all wrongs. Arnav needed someone to plod him, push him, question him, nudge him, challenge him and the person who would do that has come. So he will do everything to ensure Khushi's honour is restored and she gets the position of badi bahu.

DeleteGargi such people exists and it also hurts to see when people who claims themselves to be devotees are the ones who tends to be of such nature. I guess answer is within thew thought itself. A real devotee will never claim themselves to be so.
RTR will be a throughout thing. He will pay the prize whole his life to think ill of Khushi not once not twice but till he stripped her off her morals and give into his ruthlessness.

DeleteTimelines weird or is this due to Narnia Land? How did Dadi know location of house, layout, guest room, etc? She closed herself off into an ashram for the past 14 years and was supposedly incommunicado. Especially since at the time that the infamous event took place, ASR would have been around 14 years old - definitely not a business tycoon at that age who would build such a modern house. What kind of an ashram is she in, let alone devotee, that she manages to live by the chut/achut priniciples?

ReplyDeleteone question, at start of the episode khushi said the buds will bloom by the time Anji delivers her non existing babies.. so in that case Anj was already 2.5 mths preg when Arhi got married. and there are around 8/9 days for the contract to get over. around the same for the rose buds takes to bloom.
And in precap Arnav walks out to be with K , will he use his ASR card which he used for anjali after the wedding - suck it up that they are married and accept K as his wife and give her respect he needs or they both leave the house. This time he might do so a with few more days left for the contract to get over. Dadi accepts with proper wedding which has to imitated by Arnav.
so is that on the wedding day anji goes into labour and stops the big C, for future TRPs and at that time due to complication they need the hubby which gets shyamu to enter, Dadi initiating it saying the baby needs the father however he might be?? maybe letting more of past??
AAggghh - why do i get the sinking feeling that our dear serial is going to be degraded into a saan bahu type thingy??

- so there is a spoiler of a song going around - will ODG be all "let be sacrifice for the new entrant" as always and ODB take exception to that (after all even when he was mad at her he could not bare anyone being nasty or disrespectful to her - he himself was always a diff story) - could that lead to the song? - personally i hate songs and dances in the show - they are so fake and filmy - except for teri meri took the story forward -it was a challenge but he still helped her win coz he could not see her loose - except that one song i really don't like songs in a serial - who actually sings??? its like when the CVs dont want to think too much - they add in songs and dance stuff!

ReplyDelete1. My CCKKP monent seeing khushi take care of Arnav's plants. Loved the fact that she was taking care of his mist belived possession while he is not around. Still thinking of Di's nanhi kali coz that's important to Arnav.
2. Khushi thinking 'hum duniya mein sabse jyada jisse pyaar karte hai, humein unke atith ke baare mein kuch nahi maloom'
3. Dadi - I really hope the CVs will handle this track well coz of the strong social issue connect to it. Why do people behave in such a way I do not know. Why don't people understand that irrespective of the social strata, colour of the skin, race, caste, religion, work.... at the end of the day we are all humans. I so hope the CVs give a right message through this track.
4. Notice when Arnav and nani come in the house, nani is ofc standing with Arnav and Dadi with Anji. So will we get to see nani championing Arhi while dadi for Anji.
5. Will khushi learn self respect during this track? Will Arnav teach her to respect herself and not take it when dadi calls her names like being called 'maid' today.
6. Arnav and dadi seem to have been at loggerheads forever. This calls for chopper wala ASR to deal with his 'shist' dadi. We get to see where has all the EGO in ASR come from.....
7. Dadi pushes khushi out of the mandir today. Khushi's DM will not be happy to see that.....
what was not clear thru epi and i hope the coming epis clear these doubts...

DeleteDadi is observant. She sees Anji bump (imagine the bump here please since DB refuses to sport one). If Anji preggers she obviously married. Dadi can't imagine her hrand daughter to be preggy without getting married. Moreover Anji is still wearing sindoor and mangalsutra so ofc dadi draws the conclusion that Anji is married and asks for damadji.
This is really strange but the first character I recalled after seeing dadi today was Kaikeyi.... She used her boon to send rama into exile. Dadi seems to be capable of using her power and position to bring VLR back resulting in Arnav (khushi) leaving the house. After Rama was sent in exile Kaikeyi was never addressed as 'mother' by bharata and she never really got to spend much time with her two grand children (bharata's children).
ReplyDeleteGot a feeling that dadi will use emotional blackmail, past incidences and the pain Anji has hone through to persuade ASR to bring VLR back. ASR will not want a repeat of what happened in the past (read ma's death, Di attempting something silly) and so he might get VLR back but leave house with khushi. Sita Maiyya left with rama on his exile.
Anji seemed to take Manthara's position. Slowly manipulating dadi, goading her to bring her hubby back.
Arnav does not seem to get on with dadi, there is respect for dadi but that's it. There is no understanding or trust in that relationship. He will do everything in hos power to ensure she is comfortable not necessarily happy.
I was confused with Arnav's expressions at the end, tbh. There seemed to be a softening of expression, but nowhere near the unmixed joy that Anjali showed. Need to watch again to decipher. Was he surprised to see her? Did he expect her to be there, considering he has apparently tried so many times to bring her home and she has refused?
DeleteAnjali's first reaction was explained by the flashback ... so we didn't need to decipher it. Besides, Dadi's arrival came as a complete shock to her ... so the first reaction was the memories. Then the joy.
Was Arnav's reaction the same? And if so, why? Considering that he has just been talking to Nani about her, has spent a good part of the day looking for her ... shouldn't that itself have brought back all those memories? Or did the actual sight of her do that? Or is there something else?
Dadi's expression was easy ... there was softness, pleasure at seeing her grandson ... in fact, her expressions when she hugged Anjali and the hesitation she showed there confused me for a bit ... So there are wheels within wheels, and we will see the whole picture emerge slowly.
If Dadi is truly a senior ASR, then once she hears the truth of VLR from both Arnav and Nani, will she really want to bring VLR back? Or will the stigma of an abandoned granddaughter-in-law be more important? Even if Nani also convinced about the truth of VLR's kameenapan? Nani is DD's best friend, remember.
Will Anjali really ask her to bring VLR back? Or is this track more for exposure of the past and more closeness of Arshi?

DeleteI was a bit confused with Arnav's expressions but having seen it again I felt although he was happy to see her safe, he also knew what was waiting. He is aware of her conservativeness. He is aware how strict she can be. May be he has seen her be uktra strict to his mother.
I got an impression that Arnav respects her coz she is his dadi but does not get on with her because of her beliefs and her nature. Dadi seems to be as arrogant, short tempered, egoistic and stubborn as her grandson. So arnav probably knows that where the going is already tough, it's going to get tougher....
As for dadi she is blissfully unaware of Arnav's marriage. Although Arnav and nani knew where she was and possibly told her about Anji wedding, they never told her about Arnav's wedding because of the circumstance it happened in.
If she is a typical Raidaza (read senior ASR) she will draw her conclusions without giving people a chance to explain. So she may not give Arnav a chance to fully explain what happened and why????
The other thing is that she has already taken a disliking for khushi so if and when Arnav confesses that he married khushi due to MU, dadi will want to know how and why the MU cleared. There is no proof you see. So if she sticks with Anji and is hell bent on getting damadji mack and making khushi's life miserable.... We will see Arnav supporting her more and more, righting all the wrongs he did in the past abd Arhi coming closer....
Everytime a third party tries to wedge a separation in Arhiland they end up bringing them even closer. This track will make khushi realise her responsibilities as badi bahu, make her realise just how much she means to Arnav and make Arnav realise that khushi is not as important as Di, she is more important than Di...

ReplyDeleteUJ, very conservative widows do that, I believe. Carry their own utensils etc., and sleep only on the floor. Dadi is being portrayed as ultra-conservative, ultra-religious ... the kind who believes in all the rituals and riti-rivaaz, without tempering them with the basic humanity and respect for one's fellow humans that characterize Nani. Cliched, but true to life, there are people like that ... or there were, don't know how many people even among the elderly are so conservative these days.

DeleteDon't know about you all but i for one (despite all our posts and Dis lovely edits and Su's dialogues for ODB) have a very dissatisfied feeling - the general viewer does not decode every line like us - and even after decoding every bit - i get a disjointed feeling - what about the regular viewers? - no wonder the TRPs never do real high! the CVs can really build up something but the climax always disappoints - in a way the wed epi was the climax - didn't feel complete at all - so much more could have been done - at least a few dialogues here and there would have given a fuller picture (in continuation) not disjointed well done scene!

IPK audience does not enjoy MIL vs DIL rubbish...they like a good side track and Arhi- doesn't just have to be romance...a good RTR track or anything....And they started that track so why not wrap it up before diving into the next track..
Shiddat..I don't want a big Arhi wedding ...if at all just the two of them and DM and maybe a panditji...it nullifies the last 6 months if Arnav bows to DD's demands...if they do it should be because he wants to reassure Khushi and not for any other purpose- because once again purpose will be lost.
Gargi - girl we speak the same language! - have been saying the same for ages - DO NOT want a big wedding - and exactly it nullifies the last 6 months - it shrouds their relationship in a very ugly doubt! - plus the whole part was that they believed their wedding was real - they just had to work towards making their marriage real!

It might be a private wedding in front of just the family, I think ... having a huge public affair will be insulting to the family as well as to the couple ... admit to the world that Arnav Khushi have been living together for the last six months without being married? Don't think that will appeal to Dadi's outmoded sense of family 'garv' either ... but she might insist on pheras etc ...
I would actually prefer if Arnav and Khushi had a private wedding just for Khushi's sake ... but don't know whether that will happen ... SHIDDAT!!!

The way she got MM to wash the puja ki thaali- DD will accept K only after she has been purifed.
I kind of liked the character. Like someone mentioned already, now we know which part of the family ASR takes after. And nani's fears were well founded- he takes after dadi and his father- the arrogance..the adamance... everything.
I had this feeling after watching the last scene. DD's arrival has sidelined everyone else.Even Khushi seemed suddenly not important any more with the kind of personality that dadi oozed. Loved that last shot of bitwa with nani balancing Anjali with dadi.

If that happens ... i.e Dadi will accept Khushi only she has been 'purified', I will be very annoyed and disappointed. Khushi has done nothing to need 'purification' ... nothing which Arnav has also not done ... I dislike women like that, and I hope she receives a lesson if that is her attitude.

What I'm waiting to see is what shade Dadi will be ... will she be as much a proponent of truth and justice as her grandson? And when Arnav and Nani tell her the whole story, whose side will she then take? Arnav's? Bearing in mind that Arnav has heard from Shyam's own mouth that he never loved Anjali at all ... there is no question of proof required for this one, it's not about proof of Khushi's statement. Which again is annoying as it is ... that Khushi's statements need proof to back them, but Arnav's is accepted as the unvarnished truth. Double standards there too, if you ask me.
Or will she also be another of the ones fawning over Anjali - Anjali can do no wrong, so get VLR back because Anjali wants him, and what Anjali wants has to be right?
But I think this is more about Arnav's RTR ... everything he blasted Khushi with, most unfairly, will come back to haunt him, as he sees his own Dadi do the same to Khushi, and realises what a complete swine he was, and how completely WRONG ... holding up a mirror to his own opinionated, arrogant, and prejudiced old self.

'fawning over Anjali': I feel she is too strong a character to be reduced to do that. Even nani who is softer than her does not do that. I really hope if she ends up supporting Anjali(which I strongly suspect she will), there will be a good reason for it.

Su, WHAT IS PROOF? IS Arnav's word not proof enough? His word that Shyam told HIM, face to face, that he never loved Anjali. What more proof can she want? Forget the kidnapping part ... as the cv's seem to have amnesia about that ... but for the unfaithful husband, isn't ARNAV'S WORD PROOF ENOUGH? Or will she not believe that, because her grandson is under the spell of his wife? In that case, forgive me but she doesn't deserve any proof. In the real world, one has to TRUST in one's near and dear ones, and if Dadi could think that Arnav would do ill by his sister just on the say so of his wife, then she doesn't know her grandson at all, and NO PROOF in the world will convince her.

Supporting Anjali is one thing ... supporting her unreasonable demand to bring VLR back is a different thing completely. Nani and Arnav both are doing the first already. Anjali has not actually asked for Shyam to be brought back, not since the first day ... and Anjali got her answer, when Arnav confessed to her why he married Khushi ... she doesn't want to know more or hear more.
I actually don't understand why anyone will support Anjali in her demand, if she asks for Shyam to return. I think Shyam will play his game differently ... more about the baby and its missing father.

ReplyDeleteODB was iffy - huummm - me don't think so - i actually felt his reaction to be more appropriate than Anjanli's - he is seeing the lady after 14 years (even if they have been in conversation - she is there after 14 long years) and that brings back too many other memories as well - his face did not show love for his granny - it was a reflection of the past - the fear of a buried past raising its ugly head! - After all he was a 14 year old boy then - so much must have effected him and now he sees all that again - while the dadi just sees her grandson
Mona, I found ODB iffy ... yes, mixed emotions, but I could not decipher them. He has spent the day looking for Dadi, he has apparently been in touch with her, tried to make her come back many times, which means he has been communicating with her ... so would there be a surge of memories now?
DeleteFor Anjali, understandable, she has not seen or heard from Dadi for 14 years ... but from Arnav-Nani conversation, he has ... and more than once.
More than memories for him, there should have been shock at seeing her there, when he has spent the whole day looking for her, relief that she is safe ... the softness I expected and liked, but the change from there, I could not read. Maybe it will become clearer tonight ...
Dadi was more understandable .. she sees her grandson, but again, I want more today ... why has she chosen to return after fourteen years, and does she have an inkling of the Anjali-Shyam story or not? She showed the mixed emotions very well with Anjali, so am guessing she does have some idea. The actress is very good - I have seen her earlier, years ago, when she was much younger, and she played a slightly grey shade there.
Only talking about our suspicions. Suspicions, that is all!

When Anji is begging her brother and nani to make things alright, she is being a child. It is a plea, "please make my world perfect".
She means K no harm. Anji is not thinking of how it is possible to get VLR back and yet have K under the same roof. She just wants that night of revelation erased. She wants that happy family which includes herself and VLR, and Arnav and Khushi back. She is going to realise the enormity of her childish demand and the implications in her brother's married life only after K leaves. And when it hits her it will shatter her again. Anji is not being selfish, she is just not seeing the bigger picture, BLIND as usual!
I feel, neither is Anji going to ask that VLR be brought back just like that, nor is Shyam going to try emotional blackmail using the child.

Dadi will want the whole story out now, the how, when, what, why- what everyone else has been turning a blind eye to, I hope. And MM is there to misguide her.
