Confrontations ... those that happened, those that didn't.
Those that happened - Arnav-Dadi ... Dadi wants Shyam back, Arnav is equally clear Shyam is not coming back. Nani wants peace.
Why don't either Arnav or Nani tell Dadi that Shyam himself admitted he doesn't want to be with Anjali, doesn't consider her his wife? And so they don't trust him, don't trust his volte face? They don't have to mention Khushi at all.
Why is Nani asking Arnav to keep quiet and calm down? Dadi is the one who's creating the tamasha here.
Why can't Arnav just tell Anjali the truth, what Shyam told him, and then let Anjali decide for herself? If Anjali the Dumbo wants to live with a two-timing sneaky silver-tongued snake with a roving eye, at the end of the day, it's her decision ... let her live with her hubby and be happy with his sweet words and his infidelity. If it doesn't bother her, it's her funeral surely ... how much can Arnav save his dimwit sister? And if Shyam's infidelity truly doesn't bother Anjali as much as living without a husband does, then again, it's her decision ... and her problem. Why keep her in the dark?
And if Arnav and Nani are afraid that Anjali will go the way of her mother and commit suicide, then protecting her from the truth about her husband isn't really the answer either ... because VLR the silver-tongued Snakewa can overcome all their half-truths and evasions, the only thing he doesn't have a reply to is the truth.
Arnav thinks Anjali has truly forgotten Shyam and is moving on ... why doesn't Dadi tell Arnav that Anjali still loves Shyam and wants him back? And that she is doing all this drama of asking for Shyam to come back because Anjali wants it?
Good thing the confrontation was done in private ... I thought after the confrontation, the mehndi would be well and truly torpedoed ... but it actually went on ...

Garima overhears everything, including that Arnav and Di had a tough time getting over the past of 14 years ago, as well as the past of Shyam (implied, not actually spoken ... so I was a bit confused there) ... and decides again to keep quiet ... Umm, Garimaji, all very well, but does that mean you will play hide and seek with Dadi till the wedding is over? Or try to? And what happens once the wedding is done? Will you disappear for ever? Or will you then appear in front of Dadi and hope that things will be miraculously all right?
Dia's note ... yes, the same thing happened in Maryada, which was actually a pretty sensible serial, all things considered ...
Arnav mentions his mother's sorrows, the problems in her marriage ... so his parents' marriage was a troubled one ... because of the ever-present other woman?
Shyam's re-entry was given wayyyyy too much footage ... I forwarded it even on first watch! It wasn't like there was much suspense there ... honestly, cv's ... *HEAD DESK*
So, the Godh Bharayi actually gets over and the Mehndi starts ... with the entry of the dhol players ... and VLR shamelessly ogling Khushi again ... don't believe the utter vileness of this guy!!! X( And *HEAD DESK* why again so much footage to the Creepwa??!!!
Creepwa's magic yellow box held ... latex gloves and broken glass!!! *Shock and horror!!!* So he wants Anjali to get injured and be confined to bed till delivery? Will that postpone the marriage?
Another confrontation that didn't happen ... Dadi walks past Garima this time ... after creating all the ruckus about meeting Garima, Dadi seems to have forgotten all about her now, in the more important job of escorting her delicate granddaughter everywhere.
And Mehndi starts ... far more festive and less tense than God Bharayi ... although hadn't the Raizada relatives already seen Khushi's munh dikhayi? Can the cv's put in a line of dialogue somewhere, anywhere, to inform the guests that the rasams are being done again because Dragon Dadi missed the shaadi the first time round, and insisted on a traditional affair? And the much in love couple obliged happily?
Confrontation that happened ... Anjali-Shyam ... and wonder of wonders, he gives her another gift for their baby! And then goes away incognito as though he is a true Majnu, and Anjali stares at him as he turns, and smiles as though she is simply delighted that her legally wedded husband had to sneak back into her maayka in disguise like a thief, and hide his face from everyone to see her ... the fact that he apparently doesn't have the guts to stand up to the world, take his wife's hand in his and proclaim, she is my wife, and she stays with me, whatever everyone may say ... that doesn't seem to bother her in the slightest ...
Arey Anjali, see how Arnav holds his wife's hand and threatens to leave the house with her if she isn't accepted as his wife ... see your skunk of a husband ... and see for yourself the difference! And if you can't ... leave the house with your husband if you love him so much ... who's stopping you?! Only your brother's money? Or the inner knowledge that without your brother's money, your hubby's sweet words will dry up like old gum?
Last bit of the episode was the sweetest ... a tiny Arshi scene ... as Khushi starts to tell the mehndi lady to put A, pre-empted by 'Put LG' from Arnav, happily joining his lady love at her mehndi ... after all, Nani gave permission :) And they both remember that this rasam was also completed some time ago. Khushi Kumaaari Guptaaaa ... :)
Okay episode ... liked the Dadi-Arnav-Nani scene, and also the tiny Nani-Arnav scene ... am getting impatient at the Garima-Dadi hits and misses now ... and Shyali are just plain boring, with the amount of screen time they get! Added to which, Khushi was there for barely half a scene for her own mehndi ... the cv's are having major trouble keeping so many balls in the air, and balancing all the tracks ... they are not doing too well as of now. This is Arhi's marriage track ... there should be at least one good strong Arshi scene in each episode for 5-6 minutes, Arnav-Dadi took up some time today, but Shyam alone with his much hyped entry, and Shyali and their eyelocks were just plain boring! There is NO suspense left on Shyam's tricks and plans, so they really need to cut his screen time!

Arnav tells Dadi in clear terms that Shyam can't be allowed into Anji's life. DD says that for a small MU, Anji's baby can't be without a father....Arnav almosts pleads for understanding and tells DD that they have taken long to come to terms with past which Garima overhears
Garima decides not to intrude becos she hears Arnav saying they are moving on after a bitter past..Nani accepts that Arnavs approach is right and assures him that he has every right to move on and this is what would have been wanted by his parents

Arnav comes down for the mehndi function, he sits besides Khuhsi and tells the meh lady to ink in LG in Khushi's hands...they have a cute remembrance of the past moment...they share a RV....it was the high point of teh epi...really a few seconds of magic...else the epi was ayvi taivi

Deleteok, now I seriously want the CVs to answer a few questions so that I can decide whether to keep on hoping from this show or to move on (assuming they do come across and read this blog) -
1. Are ArHi gonna end up re-marrying after all or no??? If yes, kindly do make us feel as though they are..promote it for Gods' sakes!! If no, whatever the reason it is, that is the BFTP, bring it soon and end the stupid suspense that has been going on for like whatever... if you STILL do not have an idea what the past should be, read this space for tons of brilliant ideas.
2. Secondly, if I were you, I would never repeat the same mistake of Arnav getting angry and khushi (this time coz of BFTP related to her foster mother/maasi)..and then realising how big a mistake it was.. come on, in Arhi thats a HUGEEE passe.. if you wanna show us vice versa, its still fine.. better still, show them loving each other despite family dushmani.. the latest rumour doing rounds is that Arnav calls off the wedding....this would be the peak of the insults KKG has been subjected to...and I hope you remember that.
3. What IS shyam upto????? what is his re-entry in RM and anjali's life gonna achieve???? WHEN is anjali gonna open her eyes to reality??? IS she ever gonna do that??? IS the whole point to show how ASR is thoroughly ruined by :
a. the one woman he truly loved turned out to be relative of the person who had an EMA with his dad and was the cause of his mother'ssuicide
b. his jeeja is a thorough kameena who not only strips ASR off his money and property but also ends up taking the life of the only other woman imp in his life - his di and her unborn child
so in the end ASR comes back to where he was 14 yrs ago... one circle of life is completed.. is that what you wanna show???
That's it for now... and seriously, with such horrendous episodes and no precaps do youthink viewers will continue watching your show???
While I have ranted above, I must say I do respect this PH and the writers (for whatever reasons they have) that they show only what they wanna show no matter how low the TRPs go.. good job!!! I dont know whether to acknowledge them or to bang my head..

DeleteToday, i actually wish Gul just comes on screen and reads out her vision....my worries is not about the leads and whether ASR will turn Arnav or not...
I somehow see a dilution of the love story.....I think the makers have over estimated Shyam's charm and Anji's pull with the audience..The audience does not connect with Anjis pain becos u have not let us feel her pain....if the intention is to hate the deception that is being done to Arnav...we have got the message long ago....so please get a move on....if u are really trying to get some sympathy for Anji..let us know what is wrong with her...let it not be left to our imagination to assume things as we have been....In this situation, she does not elicit any sympathy...i would have gladly supported her if she chose to defy Arnav openly becos i can understand she can believe him over K/A....not this luka-chupi khel....when we know she can be manipulative when she wants....
For the last 1 min of arhisense, i had to watch 20 mins of nonsense.ok make it 14 mins of nonsense....

I am not sure where this is headed but IMO, a Garima-Dadi confrontation cannot be avoided...it is too silly to conceive. If the CVs were not ready for it now, they should have thot up a creative way to handle it...

I cant find any link online and the streaming for those that I do find is way tooo slow..not at all worth my patience if the epi is that bad..

Thanks Mads for sharing the IF post - the writer pretty much sums up what most of us feel. The PH does need to decide whether they want a daily serial with a story line in which case they would have been better off wrapping it up within a year! OR do they want to show an issue based serial which can change tracks every so often and not lose its flavour....PH needs to buckle up, BIG TIME! Even the dialogues are missing their normal wit and snarkiness....famed symbolism is nowhere to be seen....the story line is sagging....Shyamli can go sniff cocaine/crack for all we care anymore....sigh....I could try and say that the PH is just trying to show how really MARRIED ARHI already are, and this remarriage is NOT about the wedding, etc....but, you know what, everyone knows that already....tai tai phiss? Sorry about the rant ladies, but it's sad when you see a product with great potential starting to wither....

ReplyDeleteI can proudly say its Dia and R&R who made me sit through so much of IPK at its worse times - OTT, suicide, kidnapping, no follow up of anything, specially emotions of the girl name khushi, also arnav - cvs never allowed him to clear khushis name &now this. IPK just does not have it in them to retain a viewer on regular basis. ArHi was their powerful weapon and they are hell bent on killing it ruthlessly. I would say almost there, could have been successful but cannot do it for SaRun.
Meri halat toh socho .... no ArHi no Dia and no lovely R&R deviyans .... Horror &terror in my IPK world!!!
After reading both of Dia's edits and then watching yesterday uncut ArHi .. it gave me hope to watch today's episode. But the last scene killed it too.
Khushis hand are done already and name game over too. That scene did not even look like its their mehendi night. It looked absolutely like love birds chatting away in sis and sils godhbarai. Anjaam scene had such festive atmosphere whereas last ArHi scene looked like some isolation created by the love birds themselves not to be caught by elders, no fun no festive at all. They are giving us words for the most obvious things but not for the things that matters. Follow up bhi toh nahi kartein hain yeh log!!
GB was done with all attention to details. Why was rokha not done the same way? First attempt to date by khushi? Mehendi, like I said Khushis hands already done, why?
To me answer is they don't want to, that's it. Ab toh samjhe ya samjhaon bolne ka bhi maan nahi karta cause they just don't understand.
Its perfect time for me to detox. Not having R&R for 4 days helped big time. Darling cousin sister is getting married. Will get busy from friday and marriage festive will continue for next 3 months. This girl is simply crazy she has 11 functions lined up, just from the girls side *shakes head*. I know of 8 at the most if you want to. She added 3 more which she is not ready to disclose if all of us (cousins and friends) don't go to her place and stay over for the weekend.
TV is suppose to be the fantasy world. IPK ke ne majhboor kar diya to adapt to "Nayi Soch" ROFLMAO
Love you all to bits. Thank you Jaya for posting my comment and also replying back with everyone's post from here. Mona jo hukum and I don't think so I can go on now without checking R&R. Su I will be around, can never say a complete goodbye to R&R. Its was too frustrating when I could not access it, specially when I desperately needed it. Din't realize how much I got attached to this place. Its totally crazy but as my friend say "you are too normal and never addicted to anything, good to see you like this for once" ROFL
Madsie and Rekha I understand ArHi needs to undergo changes for the story to move but when I need to force myself to like something I dearly love, that's where hurt seeps in specially after rooting for it for so long. Like case in point - date was khushis attempt to blend in his world ... just allow it dammit. Italian food is tasty for crying out loud.
Let khushi say its tasty but less teekha for my liking and then Arnav lovingly adds those spices. Then tease her saying my world isn't that bad after all KKGSR but I will admit you add spice to it. Eye lock, soft instrumental Rabba Ve!!! A confident Khushi tease him back with "Of course ASR is always right"
After reading Dia's edit I was like - Haawwww is that what they tried to show. Now what does that say about a general viewer like me.
Last but not the least. Take a moment to appreciate our resident Genie. She said be ready for the promotion when she heard about my school fiasco over 2 months back. I won't say I am promoted but I will be taking higher classes from now on. Routine set perfectly to my liking and cherry on top I won't have to deal with few bi****s from any possible level, my routine and responsibilities does not allow it :D :D :D...... Boy I was scared when I got my letter for this year. Too good to be true. Hope it spans out this way throughout the year. Wish me luck &keep me in your prayers !!

I get what u say about IPK....i know i tried to reason with u on the changes to ASR but i think its not that anymore...maybe i was reasoning with myself....its to do with what the show is now tending to be....i wish i could say something encouraging.....me a HAA so i cling on to hope of seeing Gul's vision translated on screen i can't bear to see it going down the drain..call me an Anji if u wish who can't see the writing on the wall...but i was sold on ARHI as a timeless classic love tale......i can't believe the story that has given us such classic moments can go this strange way....to see that turned to this saas-nanad like saga is diffi to stomach...

DeleteMona I love my kids little or grown up.... Wish I could record their expressions when I call them kids on first day... heehehe too good. Then they get used to it and love it. Actually they get to know the moment I call them by their formal name that they did something wrong. I don't know what kind of teacher I am but yes not someone my students hate that I am confident about. Hopefully it stays this way.

OK - for all those who feel the wedding is being rushed or there is not enough emphasis on it - here is my explanation for it -
see for ODC and the world at large - the couple IS already a couple - well and legally married - ODB knows he is married, he is doing all this just for KKGs confort - and to the rest if the world - its just a repeat performance - like a renewal of vows - then the events do not have the same impact as first timers - right - i mean you cant expect ODG who has loved with ODB for 6 months (and to the world they have lived as husband and wife) - how can she become coy and nayi nawali dulhan all of a sudden? - it really is like a couple madly in love reliving their vows and rasams - and they too accept that they have already done these before (like we have been saying at R&R)
the only thing i cant find an excuse for - Garima is in the house and no one has introduced her to the eldest member - Dadi - come on CVs that is like the biggest breach of basic etiquette i have ever seen (and that to in a supposedly sanskari family!!!!)
oh and i totally get why you all did not like the eppi - the TF&TQ romance took up too much space and that to in the end - like leaving a bad taste in the mouth - luckily for me - my net is slow today so saw the eppi in parts and did not get teh overload of anji TF feeling
oh and we are definitely back with the IPK original style

And from a story perspective - today was a big day for ODB - he who normally just gave out verdicts - was making a huge change by trying to explain things to dadi - dadi being dadi very easily passed judgement that his loosing temper would not be tolerated but she has not seen ODB in 14 years and does not know what his temper was like all this while - she does not know what an effort he was making (nani knew and hence my rant that she should have supported him more!) - so undoubtedly this was KKG's effect on him - he is talking of feelings - not hiding from them but trying to embrace the good and the hopeful and get over the sad past - well done KKG - you should be proud of your student today!

BUT - i am not giving up on ODC - yes they have been side tracked for now - but this is their show - it has to come back to them - see I understand (and J is right) the CTs are juggling too many balls in the air - too many tracks - but what i think is happening (or lets say i am hoping is happening- cant be too sure with these CTs) is that all balls will fall at the same time - all story lines will intersect at around the same point - so they cant stop one track and focus on the other for now - Meaning = garima, dadi confrontation will open up the BFTP which will have some Shyam link as well which will happen just after or before the wedding and all this will culminate in = will our leads still manage to stay together?
Oh but i totally agree (and have ranted about it so very often) - the PH started with a clear story - built it and then went down the - "keep the daily soap going" & 'satisfy the trp' route - extended events with no followup - like holi, HR, ma kay kangan, hut romance and many more - NOW the CVs seem to be back on the original premise, the BFTP - they need to tighten the story telling - make it crisper - not get carried away by the trp janta and get busy spending money on wedding events which seem to hamper the story not act as the background for the movement (if you get my point)
ps - would really like it if they connect the dots sometimes - would it hurt to mention that ODB has been supporting his wife for months - i mean she started off by taking 300 as a loan but her wardrobe has been growing - her wedding dresses are all there etc etc - i know it is implied but it just makes is a better narrative if details like these are addressed and here the CVs are erratic - sometimes they give us such details and sometimes they leave it to our imagination!!

Wasn't it pretty much the same conversation they had on Janmashtami.
I didn't learn something new and I didn't understand why Nani kept on insisting Arnav to stop the Tamasha when he didn't initiate it in the first place and Dadi was an equal participant.

Note I didn't say I watch the show for Arnav-Khushi love story, Just Arnav-Khushi.
I am intrigued and fascinated by the story of Arnav and Khushi:
lost their parents at an early age,
took a different approach to handle the tragedy,
adopted lovingly by another family,
showed their gratitude to their respective families by ensuring they work tirelessly to keep the family happy on all accounts,
somewhere deeply yearning for a person who truly belongs to them
Then
Meet each other
Fight each other
Support each other
Hate each other
Fiercely are possessive and protective about each other
Hold on to each other and LOVE each other against all odds.
So when this couple who has had a beautiful journey so far, get married I expect the marriage to be about THEM.
I expect all the festivities, the fun, the emotions to be around THEM.
I expect each family that adores and loves them be ecstatic that
their Arnav and Khushi who have had to deal with tragedy and struggle so early in life are finally getting their shot at happiness.

Yes, the scene where Arnav finally asks Nani, don't I deserve to be happy (Thank lord for small mercies and small hair trim) was there, I just expected it to be much much more emotional moment for Nani and the other Raizada family too.
I am not complaining about the small scenes we have been getting of Arnav and Khushi.
I am just surprised that is all.
This show was always about Arnav and Khushi from day one till quite recently.
The sudden shift in focus to another love story which is anything but a love story is plainly irritating.

90% of the time, Shyam has ben a comedian for me, except in Shyam- Khushi scenes. Rest of the time he makes me laugh. Yesterday was no exception. The only serious bit that sent 'chills down my spine' (not really) was him looking at Khushi.
I was rofl with the last 'loving' glance he gave Anjali.
Somehow, can't hate Anji for her stupidity.
And I truly believe she is not manipulative or parasitic.
She comes across as a helpless woman.
She cannot blame Shyam for hiding from Chhote because she knows Chhote did not give him the chance to explain himself then, will not now. They need dadi to sort this out.

If Anji gets little or no sympathy today, it is becos the CVs have not played her well....she having this persecution complex has never been explained well enuf for lay viewers..
She has shown to be naughty, thoughtful, manipulative, loving, clingy, possessive, non-confrontational like many of us in varying degrees...in her case, it was just a wee bit pronounced....so when the slapgate happened our expectation was she will not take it well...she may MU Khushi, Arnav, become withdrawn, suicidal etc was the gen expectation....in fact she did it also in a wishy-washy way...
But her sudden change to all accepting, and then volte-face to hiding behind curtains, making calls to VLR was soemthing that can only be explained as a personality issue which i think CVs could have done rather easily with some sensible Anji monologues...shown her duvidha...can't be without Shyam, Shyam is not wrong, K must be mistaken....A is angry, i want everything to be fine, A loves K, how do i break this to him, how do i convince him kind of monlogues....
I am saying Su, I agree that Anji is not meant to be negative but CVs have done exactly that by their wishy-washy portrayal..I don't know why they never chose to dvelve deeper in to Anji psyche for viewer benefit...was it their feeling that DB cannot do justice to such a role or was it their misplaced confidence that it will be borne thru the narrative?
The point i differ with u is when u say she is not a parasite....to me she is certainly that becos there is something called "maryada" in relationships and money can be a big factor in spoiling it...

I see it like this:
ASR does not think twice about gifting sheesh mahal to his di. Everything that ASR has, he has given to Anjali in the form of a pocket money account of which he even checks the bills. Money is certainly not an issue between them. Plus Anjali does not know that Shyam was living off her brother’s money. To her knowledge, he earns for himself and his family, though he is not a tycoon like her bro, and she is OK with it.
The current track- Shyam got bangles for the baby at the restaurant. For God bharai he got payal- shows to her that he is well capable of taking care of his family. I felt all the Shyam Anjali scenes were neede yesterday- HE became her HERO- he came into RM for her, for their rajkumari…in spite of being MU-ed and slapped by her brother…see how humble and loving he is!
Everything that is not Arhi is absolutely necessary to make better sense of what is coming up.

Brother is back hale and hearty. Khushiji did tell some story for which she had no proof- really, how did she cook all this up without a shred of evidence?
Anyway, what is the point of asking my brother? Already, my husband asked him if he saw him there and he did not answer in the affirmative.(In spite of that, the fact he had no evidence, stil he threw my hubby out based on Khushiji's 'BELIEFS' which seem baseless. Sadly, she is mistaken, so I can't hate her for it.

If she is asked to choose, she cannot, because she is in a duvidha. She knows they are both not wrong. If she puts her down and says I'll leave, that amounts to throwing a tantrum...and she knows she will hurt chhote. Shyam is definitely more understanding with the stand she has taken. He has accepted her even though she did not storm out of her bro's house. If she did that, it will be a permanent dent in the sibling relation and she cannot initiate anything that might even remotely affect that bond- it is too precious to be treated so trivially.

Deletegrant u the point u put across on money in relationship between Ar and Anj....as i said....its a touchy thing...it can't be felt unless there is some man-mutav...which i agree has never happened becos Ar never sees it as an issue..
But u have to appreciate, why this is an issue with viewers becos 95% of audience is bound to think that Anji is palming off even if that is not her intention....esp given the fact that she is shown doing things behind his back......but it is a small issue per se for me but it only adds up in the whole to make that impression. i see it this way agar arnav ko koi pareshani nahin toh humein kya......paisa uska, behen uski....
Anji has lost her sheen, believe it or not....CVs will have to work that much harder to get it back.....there was a time she was seen to don the durga avatar to help A_K relationship. she still may do that but CVs need to answer why their durga was so weak...perception is reality.....
The monlogue u quoted is not forgotten by me but the real monolgue was needed when she started those phone and meeting on the sly stunts...it may have helped the narrative far better....
Su, belive i am on the same page with u on Anji....its just that the narraive has not done justice to the character if 80% of ur audinece does not know who she really is.thats my point

DeleteI believe there is a lot of truth in what Sama and Shwetha says. The of screen drama spoiled it a lot, though now I am beginning to wonder if DB was misunderstood by IF. They seem to make a mountain out of mole hill many a time.(Please don't take this personaly, I am just wondering.)

DeleteI did not read the DB interview or anything she said....i did read snippets that was quoted here.....and while i felt there was no need for any actor to equest for understanding a character being portrayed....i felt it was her prerogative to say it in her communication so i have no particular views one way or the other.....eg...I would not make the mistake of hating Abhaas Mehta becos he is playing Shyam...
I don't think of this aspect as a DB issue. In all my posts, i have always maintained it is a CV issue becos it is in their hands how a character is read......Its possible, an actor may not do justice to the brief and it will be evident in a scene....else a director will always be blamed for a poor actor.....
Having said that, i will make one point. DB was reasonably gud in the scenes earlier altho she did show her pearly whites more than necessary...but now, her emotional range seems limited, but imo, the CVs have to take some blame for the lack of transparency/emotional depth in her acting. the scenes are just not upto it...perhaps the sufficient background was not created for it.....

Di may not be as important as 'saut', but she is IMPORTANT. (What I tried to explain above with the song)
I felt we got so many insights yesterday:
1. ASR looks forward to be a mama as much as he wants to get married. Both the women are important to him.
2. He thinks Anjali has adjusted. (How dare he? Did he ever explain to her why he threw Shyam out? Does he not understand that his sister desreves an explanation? Did he always think that 'he' is enough for her? )
3. Nani wants to avoid confrontation NOW, when all the guests are around.'I'll explain things to you later, Subhadra."
4. Garima wants to play hide and seek. Mami can vouch for it that she tried to get introduced to dadi9 If she is in a mood for vouching when the issue comes up), but Garima can always say that she did try to get introduced.
Or will dadi say that she came, saw me for the first time(dadi is not aware G has seen her b4), and scooted?
5. Dadi has only Anjali on her mind now, and daamadji. Anjali has to stay at her mother's place till the delivery, daamadji should be free to visit her, and may even be invited to stay, keeping in mind bitiya's frail health.
And since she has only Anjali and Godbharai on her mind, she forgot about the mehendi and Garima.(She was not even present for the mehendi)

in fact, ASR gave me the impression of a person who actually needs a closure but like his sister, he is choosing not to confront(of course, i don't know what he should confront?) but choosing to leave the past behind...unless u make peace with it...i mean genuine peace with it...it will always trouble u.. woh ek nasoor ban jata hain...
so ASR will be shattered on learing of the dreaded past...kash main tumse mohabbat kar pata will play out...uski ankhen khushi ko bulati rahegi but mohabbat ankhon mein dard ban ke rahega....until he has real closure with his past...
In Arnav's favour, the shyam chapter has nver been easy one to confront becos it involves his Khushi...every utterance is a painful reminder of how he misunderstood her and went about destroying her as well as the sad truth that his sister's husband lusted after the only woman he ever loved....
