You don't have to give birth to a child to feel a mother's pain, a mother's love, a mother's heart.

Deletethat one moment when khushi said that "you are my only family.. and you are leaving me.." suddenly i feel that khushi has accepted that she has no one to call her own.. she has experienced that moment of total abandonment before.. so she is accepting this situation as something to be expected.. somehow i felt that here, she accepted herself as "parayi" ..
but the bua, who used to fill her head with 'unwanted' comments, does an about-face. "cant you see this mountain-like person in front of you?" was really unexpected- and welcome- from my POV.
i think its buajis guilt which has changed her .... ever since the shyaam fiasco she has been there supporting khushi (except for the marriage which had its genuine reasons) though cvs never gave even a moment over this issue.

DeleteAbsolutely loved GH scenes .... Shashi had to be in this with Garima otherwise the whole Garima issue was sounding very flimsy. Now I have no issues of her running away. She wants her daughter to be happy. This also gives me hope that Arnav-Khushis past has nothing such that will makes Khushi face any harm at Malliks hand aur rather Dadis .... she is counting on Arnav big time ... So she definitely know more about him that is giving her so much confidence. And I liked the justification of not delaying marriage ... already so much have happened lets not give any time for anyother unhoni.

So they shot this just 2 days back when Barun was on leave for his Bday ... it din't need his presence though in any scene. He could have gone "Di aap apka khayal nahi raktin" and all panicky just to get a jab from Dadi about "koun rakkega agar aap mandir mein ghumenge toh". Acha huwa he was not there.
Why isn't he moving out of the house through poolside passage way today??? ... Always thought that was the escape and entry route. Or is it that ArHi bedroom for once is closed. If so shabash Arnav bitwa ... kuch toh baccha seek rahe ho !! Bohut kaam ayega :D :D :D

Anji-Shyam all tensed, Shyam runs upstairs to hide and hide he does in Dadi's room
Payal has the spare keys so they open the door, while anji was on her way to the door....
Dadi notices two tea cups and asks Anji, she lies left right and center....and when payal ask a bit in details, she pretends to be ill...waah Anji tussi Mahaan ho...
Garima talks to Shashi, he knows bt her past, she wants to leave, he consents....
they convince khushi n buaji, saying there is a camp outside lucknow by a famous doctor.....

in RM they call the doctor who says Anji is still weak, and changes the tablet (buahahahahaa) want to see Shys face now :P
Shy is stuck in Dadi's room, lost his phone in the chaos, and Dadi finds it....

Geeta tell me about it. I was fuming ...she is so going to use it against chote too at the very first signal she gets from her KP. Chalo ek good thing toh huwa ....cvs have taken time out from making khushi lie all the time to jump from tracks to track. She is slowly coming around to her old self. Yes I have hopes ....they have to they must if they want to run IPK for few more years. This time all these lies/hiding at least seems to have some kind of head and tail.
Man Anjali is in for a lot of nasty reality check. I don't see Nani supporting her this time. She will defintely be with Chote who gave up his childhood taking care and making life perfect for his Di.
And can I say I very very much like this Payal Bahu ...she is the Bahu form of the Jeeji we know.

Compare and Contrast:
A mother who went out of her way to put her unborn child's life and future in danger by believing the devil.
A mother who went out of her way to sacrifice everything just so her two daughters whom she did not give birth to, can have have the happiness she thinks they deserve.
A father who has no qualms in putting his unborn child' s life in danger.
A father who has ensured that his daughters, one his own and one adopted are always safe and secure.
It was an emotionally moving episode and it worked big time.............for me.

The Doctor who I remember quite well from last time made an appearance too. Kudos to that actress who actually looked and spoke like a doctor and not the typically serial-ish doctors we see. ( 4 Lions, you guys alwalys get the casting right, don't you?)
Dadi sees the phone, so will she be the first one to meet Shyam and know that Anjali has been secretly meeting her MIA Damaadji?
Nani & Mami excited about Mehendi cum Godbharai, good to see.
Buaji and Shashiji were fabulous.
Overall a fanastic episode.
Shwetha, Dadi's emphasis at the goad bharai rasam, and anji's happiness seems like she want damadji in asap....and the moment nani mentioned mehendi, her face distorted with disgust....

I caught a YT on the initial epis. Did they change Garima's character a bit from then on?
There she seemed to be more strong and a little harsh (Payal's wedding), maybe.I felt they changed her in to this lamb person and gave away the harshness to Buaji.
Was Buaji there for that wedding in Lucknow? Do correct me here, I may be totally wrong.

DeleteHave watched only the first half of the episode yet ... internet at the hotel sucks!!! But I have to say I love your take, it was so similar to my thoughts ... especially the compare and contrast between the two mothers here.
Writing my analysis on Anjali will take forever, and I don't have the time right now ... but interestingly, if you go through my takes on last year's episodes around Raksha Bandhan, when Anjali was completely saccharine sweet, with NO hint of grey, I had mentioned a few times that Anjali is manipulative and can be dangerous.
I don't think Shyam is trying to kill the baby ... he's too smart for that. Anjali's continued pregnancy and then the baby are his ticket back into Shantivan. More likely he is trying to time the delivery of Anjali to disrupt the wedding - his primary goal is to prevent the Arnav-Khushi wedding. He first tried to do it by creating MU between ArHi, since he knew they were already falling in love during the Payash wedding functions - so he told Arnav that he and Khushi were having an affair ... that failed spectacularly. Arnav forced Khushi into marriage.
Then he got a second chance - he got to know about the forced wedding, saw that they were not sleeping together, it was not a real marriage, and believed - mistakenly - that the circumstances he had created between ArHi by lying to Arnav about his affair with Khushi were enough to ensure that the hate would last forever and would overcome the love. But ArHi got over their MU's and fell even deeper in love during the kidnapping, which he completely miscalculated, when Khushi played him along like a puppet by feeding his ego that he had won and she actually hated Arnav. He never realised that Arnav would believe in Khushi's word ... till the time Arnav left for the airport, Khushi was begging Shyam to tell Arnav the truth, as she thought - and thus so did Shyam - that Arnav would believe him over Khushi. He did not know how things changed during that time for Arnav - how could he? We the viewers also didn't know why Arnav changed :D
End result - Arnav believed Khushi, threw Shyam out, and placed Khushi at same level as Anjali.

DeleteAnjali angry with Khushi, wants Shyam back. Arnav refuses point-blank, and the next thing Anjali sees is that instead of pandering to his heart-broken shattered Di day and night, Arnav is instead planning a birthday surprise for Khushi the very next day.
Am sure Shyam got news of this if not immediately, then very soon after, and realised that the ArHi bond is pretty much unbreakable, so setting Anjali against Khushi will only strain the Arnav-Anjali bond, and will not affect the Arnav Khushi one in the slightest. Hence Anjali's change of heart towards Khushi ... I would think Shyam started sweet-talking her around this time, telling her that Khushiji has MU'ed him, it was all a big mistake. So first sweetened Anjali towards Khushi, that will re-set the Arnav-Anjali bond ... and that is first priority.
Dadi was a boon for Shyam ... am sure he was instrumental anonymously in getting her out of the ashram. But again he failed ... he expected Arnav would refuse to re-marry Khushi, Khushi would be shamed for living for six months with a man, and Dadi would throw her out - even Nani and Anjali would support Dadi on that. Which they did. But Arnav threw a googly, he was prepared to do even a full ritual-filled re-marriage for Khushi. Shyam failed again.
Shyam's next throw of dice ... delay/postpone the wedding by making Anjali go into labour at the opportune moment ... and those are probably the pills he is giving her. After the delivery, Anjali can be further manipulated into weeping about her father-less baby and he can try to worm his way back in ... but his purpose of stalling the wedding would be fulfilled.
And I don't think it's for any convoluted reason like sister's revenge and other such ... it's for the simple reason that Anjali is Arnav's sole heir. Once Arnav gets married and has his own family, his wife and children are his heirs ... Anjali gets only a part of his fortune, and probably not major part either. Shyam's motivation is, and has always been greed. Khushi was his one mistake ... he fell for her and forgot the money angle for a bit, then remembered it and wanted first to have both money and girl, then to kill Anjali, and finally to make Anjali the heir and kill Arnav. All epic fails so far ... which makes me feel that the ArHi wedding will also happen right on time ... but Anjali will go into labour in time to delay the SR.
Finally finished watching the episode, and I loved it ... especially the GH scenes ... all three, the first Shashi-Garima scene, then SGB-Khushi, and finally the last Garima-Khushi scene ... all were so beautiful.
Delete(I actually didn't mind the Shyam-Anjali scenes either ... left me free to dislike Anjali even more than I did earlier - pot calling the kettle black indeed ... she herself wants to spend time with her KP, and connives to do so ... and is most annoyed when her brother dear chooses to do the same! It's your brother's house, woman - go and get cozy with your KP in his own hut! But no, she doesn't want to leave her palace where she is Queen Bee, does she? Wants to have her cake and eat it too!)
What is Garima running away from?
Two things she said ... hamari ki hui bhool aaj hamare saamne hai.
And ... hum tab bhi jhoot nahin bolna chahte the, aur aaj bhi nahin ...
Till Garima's truth comes out fully, cannot really comment whether she is justified or not in running to Lucknow, but obviously she feels that the marriage stands a very strong chance of being cancelled if she comes in front of Dadi ... as it is, Dadi is looking for the slightest excuse to cancel it.
Which makes me feel that probably Garima was framed as being the other woman, and circumstances were such that she had to lie about it ... obviously if Dadi thinks she was the other woman, even Arnav will not hesitate to cancel the wedding, as he won't marry the daughter/niece of the woman who caused his mother's suicide.
Whereas if she is absent, Arnav is strong enough to over-rule Dadi and make sure the wedding goes ahead, and later she can tell Khushi the truth. Dadi being so hell-bent on seeing her face means that she has not forgotten Garima, and is looking for any excuse to create some drama and get the wedding cancelled. After the wedding is well and truly done with, then Garima stands a better chance of speaking to Khushi and Arnav quietly and telling them, or at least Khushi, the truth.
Also from Dadi's expressions about the mehndi being combined with the godh bharayi, she wasn't pleased at all ... she wanted a reason to call in damaadji, and she could have insisted in a ladies function, but now that it is a mehndi, Arnav will be very much around, and she might have trouble asking for damaadji. Or maybe she just made a face because she doesn't like Khushi, and she doesn't her to share the limelight with Anjali ...
Which we understand Dadi ... WE don't like Anjali, and we don't want Khushi to have to share her limelight with that sorry excuse for a woman either !!! :)))

I know chose to not to have her own kid is a bit vague, it could be cos of financial medical or whatever condition, ultimately what matters is this, she has been the Amma, a word we all say it with so much love and affection.
Compare it with Anjali or even Arnav's mom...yes we do not have the full details yet, but Anjali after her own bro has told her her GFN hubby tried to kill him choses to disbelieve him. Arnav's mom commits suicide on her daugther's marriage.
Is her running away from the truth correct, NO. But whatever secret she is hiding, she knows it will wreck the married life of Payal and Khushi.
Compare it with Anjali who is running away from the truth just so her bubble world remains intact.
They changed the actress Su, so slight variations in character according to the actress have been made, I think they are keeping the essence intact.
@Shyam : I feel whatever tablets even if it is not that harmful, you never know she might go into premature labor, for me he is risking the life of the child by giving her wrong medicines.
Dia on Arnav over ruling Dadi on Shyam, not gonna happen this time.

Su Garima back then was harsh because it was right after Payals marriage fiasco which immediately followed video footage trauma. After that she had been very normal actually. Worrying worrying like mothers usually do.

DeleteAm very irregular here these days because I am travelling, but had to log in to say this ... ASR's belief are identical to my own father's beliefs too ... he was exactly the same. My mother is more religious and devout, she is very regular in her daily pooja, although she isn't ritualistic as such, but my father was not a believer in rituals at all ... a true Karmayogi ... believed in doing his duty, being kind and truthful and hard-working, and not visiting of temples etc. He barely went to any temples in his life, unless it was for their architectural and historical splendour. Yet he NEVER ever stopped my mother from doing her poojas, and was always there for her whenever he was required, with a smile and a few side remarks ...
My brother is his carbon copy ... he will do whatever is required of him without a murmur, even though he himself doesn't believe in rituals at all. So I can relate to ASR's beliefs as well, and also relate very easily to his being there for Khushi in hers ...
My main crib earlier when Arnav agreed to the pheras and ritualistic wedding was that he was doing it on Dadi's say so, because she said Khushi could not live in RM as his wife, as they had not had the pheras.
NOW Arnav is doing all the rituals because Khushi wants them, even though he himself doesn't believe in them ... but it's what she wants, and it will make her happy. My mother has the same philosophy in life - if something you do doesn't matter to you one way or the other, but it will make someone dear to you happy, then why not do it ... unless of course it goes AGAINST your own belief- that's a different matter.

ReplyDeleteI am pleased that amma is not,the only one that knows the secret of the past. At least she is not alone in this. Poor Khushi again with no one but then who comes to support her. Loved the interplay with Khushi/Buiji. She will support Khushi and hopefully with Arnav deflect the wicked DD's snipes and barbes. How I dislike that women.
Aji is just disrespectful and deserves to be with her precious husband somewhere else, not being cherished by her brother and family. She is certainly biting off the hand that really feeds her and I for one can't wait for her to be found out. All in all I liked the episode even without an appearance by Anav as her really wasn't needed.

Dont think the reason fir Garima running away is as big as her being the other 'woman'. If she were the other woman, the guilt of Arnav's mum committing suicide would have engulfed her by now. Again, she were the ither woman she would not allow khushi marry into that family due to the severity of the past.
Again on Garima letting the cat out, get a feeling that Arnav will get to know thing before wedding and post Haldi. Whether he will get it from the horses mouth or from khushi or he recalls things from the depths if his memories once dadi and Garima come face to face is yet to be seen.
Somehow I can't help recalling the payal's broken wedding revealation scene when Akash said he knew about the truth already....
I get a feeling we will get similar scene where Dadi will realise who Garima is, accuse her again and accuse khushi of hiding the truth... Blah blah blah and Arnav will say he knew the truth already....

it was a mostly all female episode and all of them delivered!! Garima's desperation with both Shashi and later Khushi touched my heart..don't know what she did or if the CV's will reveal it soon but have to hand it over to PM for an amazing performance...
best scene for me was the buaji-khushi scene..that lady ahs come such a long way...from blaming K for all the problems in the world to now..telling her that she isn't alone in the world..
i hope we get a scene where Khushi is telling Arnav about wearing her mom's jhumke and feeling bad that G and S won't be there..
last time mehendi happened..Khushi had 'A' on her palm..unknowingly..this time..she will be more than happy to have her rajkumar's initial..hope we get an FB of that scene!!

A's Dad, fell for Garima, at first sight n lied to her bt his marital status....wooed her, she also accepted..
in the meantime, became friendly with A's mom....later she came to know that her friend's husband is none other then A's Dad....so broke off the relations with him, but he kept stalking her, feeding her lies bt his wife dominating and torturing him....and in one such incidence where he was forcing himself on her, Dadi saw them and Mued Garima
A's dad says he loves garima n is ready to divorce a's mom for her
So Dadi insults Garima, and calls Garima's sister and sister's husband to talk to them...
On the way, the accident ensues between Khushi's parents car and A's dads car.....
Garima takes up Khushi's responsiblity and because Dadi insulted Garima, she is forced to move....but in all this chaos, A's mom comes to know of some truth bt A's dad and Garima, so to save their marriage Dadi forced Garima to take the whole blame upon herself, bt how she trapped A's dad for money.....
the other woman, might be one of his (A's dads) later flinges, when he could'nt get over garima, and this woman actually trapped him for money and ruined everything on Anji's wedding day.

Garima looked scared, very scared but not guilty. She did not look guilty that Arnav's mun suicided because of her and that's why I feel she Knew something then which she chose to hide then from dadi/mallik family and she is possibly still hiding it.

'i was right then and I am right now' (then he possibly shielded Garima and now khushi). Ofc he did not know Garima, he just knew he was shielding someone.
Dadi desparate to meet garima but if she remotely Garima responsible for that night, dadi would not go through any rasams without meeting her. So although Garima played a significant role in the past, she cannot be responsible for all the wrong doings coz IMO if was responsible dadi would put her foot down and say I want to meet her before any rasams. Just seems like Garima was at the wrong place at the wrong time....
Dadi seems to dislike anger even for Garima but hate it is not.
So Shashiji is aware of the past but not buaji. Shashi has shown to be an honest righteous man and if he knows Garima's past and still chose to marry her then again from Shashi's POV Garima is not guilty.

Something kept nagging me at Roka and now that I have watched it again and again I have say it although it's a bit late....
While the whole family is happy and dancing Shyam enters RM. After shyam enters RM and starts tampering with Anji med, Arnav pulls khushi away from the family. The family continues to celebrate. Shyam tampers the med.... Arnav steels some kisses, all the while family unaware of A and K's diappearance.
Note when arnav and khushi are completely oblivious to shyam, khushi is reveling in Arnav's love, his kisses but as soon as khushi sees shyam's shadow (i am presuming infact am it was his shadow) she pulls Arnav back to the family. She does not run away from arnav this time. She holds his hand and pulls him with her. Once back with in family, arnav immediately cares for his sister.
When Arnav leaves to get Di med, he leaves khushi in charge of Di. Giving khushi his place equal haq on di. Trusting khushi to take care of his Di. And khushi accepts his place without hesitation.
Shyam is in background now so arnav and khushi are enjoying in their bubble but as soon as khushi sees Shyam coming back in their lives, she will ensure Arnav and herself are their to protect Di.
Arnav and khushi will not leave RM coz of Shyam, in fact they remain in RM for Di and fight him together this. Arnav fighting Shyam and khushi taking care of Di....
An not going to rant about Anji anymore. She is not malicious but manipulator she is and IMO she is grey purely fir the fact that she has the cheek to lie to not her family but her loving, worshipping doting brother... While she sponges off him.

ReplyDeleteWe seem to be differing in our opinions on Garima as well now I guess. I did not feel that Garima was running away from her mistakes. I did not feel she was deserting khushi and running away.
I felt it's the mother in her that's taking her away. Khushi deserves happiness. She promised her jeeji that she will take care if khushi of khushi's happiness. She has seen love un khushi's eyes fir Arnav. She has seen the same in Arnav's for khushi. She knows khushi's happiness is with Arnav.
From society POV as khushi has already lived with Arnav for 6 months and it's only right socially that she stays with Arnav albeit marry him and him only.
She is scared that if dadi sees her she will stop the wedding. Dadi will come in khushi's way of happiness. Would a mother rather attend her daughter's wedding and risk it break or not attend the wedding and ensure she gets her happiness.
Why did Garima not tell khushi about it? Whats the point of telling her now and upsetting her? Knowing khushi, she probably know khushi will worry about all the time. Her self blame attitude might make her blame their past to arnav's dard in life.... Khushi deserves to be happy for her wedding rather than pondering about Garima's past hence, Garima speaks to Shashi and seeks permission for them to leave.
Oh and if Garima cimes face to face with dadi she is scared dadi will not only call khushi wedding off but it might also affect payal's.... Especially if Garima's past in any way shape of form connects with nani's daughter than nani might have trouble accepting payal as well.... Mami is already against khushi and payal....

If she talks to ASR now, he will at least have respect for her and most definitely (we know) he will not break off the wedding. OK, may be she does not know her son-in-law so well.
The fact that she is running away, trying to hide-even if it is in the best interest of her daughters, which IT IS- it makes it look all the more ugly.
I will never call Garima selfish. I admired the character for all that all of you have said.
I was with her both the times she slapped Khushi. That is exactly how a mother should behave. And I will always like her.
It is just that her actions are going to make Khushi get MU-ed more by dadi and may be Anjali too.
I also feel that with the maturity of her years, Garima should know that it is better to face the truth head on rather than run away. I understand why she is running away. All I am saying is, this is not what she should be doing. She is lucky that she has the support of her husband too, but really, IS THIS THE BEST WAY to deal with this?
We don't know what the actual problem is, so may be I am jumping the gun here.
Having said that, for me, it is always better to talk things out and clear the issues when you are marrying off your daughter.
If things happen the way I predicted, dadi will frown up on K's up bringing, mami will have a ball and Anjali will be the confused weepy bird as usual.
I am hoping at least nani will stay sensible and understand why Garima did it. ASR will too. Who will have the voice then, keeping in mind the Anji drama that is to get compounded?

Buts that is how some situations are and human responses in such situations determines the future course of their lives:

Why could Anji not muster the courage to tell her brother that Shyam has been misunderstood...
Why could Payal not muster the courage to tell Akash that their family is hiding a big secret about the SIL of the family that she was being wed into..
Why could Arnav not tell Anji about Shyam once he knew of her pregnancy?
why could Khushi not tell Anji when she had gone with the express intention of divulging the truth abt Shyam?
All of the above situations have had consequences played out or playing out in some form or the other.....
even forgetting that all this had the express reason of creating a drama, lets not forget that sometimes, we face situations in life where our silence and speech both have a price....its our judgement of the price involved in the decision that causes us to choose one over the other sometimes to our own detriment.....
I have a question here, yesterday Garima said she didnt want to lie then, and she doesnt want to lie now.....so something is forcing her to...but when Shyam's truth was out to the Guptas, that time too she was all for burying the truth......

I defend Anji not because she is right. She is wrong, she should grow a brain and grow up. But I will excuse her because she has no brains and that is really not her fault. We all react according to what our circumstances have shaped us to become. Anji was brought up like a glass doll, she will behave like a glass doll.
Garima- is not in the same league as Arnav, Anjali, Payal or Akash who have just started their lives.
Especially, Payal. She is a newly married girl and I don't expect her to open her mouth and speak her mind at her sasuraal. It is an entirely new world for her and her husband has not encouraged her to be her self either. This is why I never had a problem with Payal.
Garima is older, a mother of two daughters, has had bitter experiences in life- I expect her to behave with more maturity.
How would Khushi behave if she was faced with the same situation as Garima? Right now she is immature and might run away too, like she ran off to GH when she felt she was a wedge in Arnav- Anjali.
How would ASR like Garima to behave in a situation like this? Wouldn't he want her to sit down and talk with him? Then he can make the decision that it is better to keep this away from dadi and take the blame when she comes to know about it.

So, she is a bit sehmi hui person...Tuhina Vora would show some snatches of anger but Pyumori has only displayed this facet more so i think.....she does want to avoid any situation that can cause "badnami" of any kind, any finger pointed at their family, so in a way she is traumatised by that event in the past....

Jhoot toe hum tab bhi nahi bolna chahte the ( unsaid isiliye hum waha se chal gaye) aur jhoot toe hum ab bhi nahi bolna chahte (unsaid isiliye jaa rahe hai). Even with Shyam's episode, Garima was all for hiding the truth not lying. I on't think she lird then or she would lie now....
Why did she not speak the truth then?
Would dadi listen to her then? Having seen dadi's behaviour towards everyone, dadi seems to have a mind that does not look at the possibilities or broader picture. Her thinking is narrow and she thinks and believes only as she perceives things. Everyone's else opinion including her closest family does not matter.
Dadi hamesha se aisi hai. Woh wohi sochti hai jo woh sochna chahti hai....
If dadi would not have listened to Garima then, why would dadi listen now. In fact dadi has been to GH in garima's presence and insulted khushi big time... What assurance Harima has she would listen now...

On the lying bit back then: I was wondering if dadi in her high handed way wanted Garima to tell a white lie, which she refused and later on the situation (which could've be averted by a white lie) ended up in ASR's parent's death. - very far fetched! I just seem to like white colour a lot!!!

- Garima is not the secret mom of KKG
- Garima was not single when her sister died - she brought in KKG to her and Shahi's House
- Shashi is not in the dark
- there is no question about the parentage of both our leads - otherwise the wedding would not be happening (also there would be no story in SP!)
- whatever the story is is between Garima and Dadi - not ODB and Garima - otherwise Garima's dialogue should have been - "if this is ASR's dadi then ASR is his son!" - not - "this is Arvan's dadi!"
- cant wait for the story to unfold - so hope they don't bore us with a slowed down shadi ka cassette!
What should happen -
- someone in GH please mention/question the absence of TF from RM!!
- mamji - at least say you exist!
- dadi is hand in glove with damadji (why else did she not ask whose phone it was?)
- ODB i know you are filthy rich - then please arrange for a driver and car for yout bride and her family to move around - they really should not be going around in autos! - the writers are good examples of 'women's lib' but when i watch a romance - i want chivalry with a capital C please :D:D:D

and probably, when they are close enough..maybe even have consummated or so...bring in the past..
We dont know that other dint know...m sure Mama-Mami must be knowing which Ashram she was staying at...maybe Anji dint knew....but Shyam cant get his info from anywhere...he just o know that Anji has a Dadi who stays in some Ashram.....he wud store that info away for some later use...but yeah these are all assumptions :P
