Enjoyed the Arshi scene a lot today ... even on a very fuzzy youtube video on a bus from NY to DC ... waiting to watch on HD later tonight :) Mainly because the cv's didn't rush it!!! For once they took it nice and slow and took a good 4-5 minutes over it ... now that's what they need to do more often ... much more often!!!
Enjoyed the rest of the episode too ... repeat music, but what the heck ... at least the atmosphere was finally festive and happy! And Creepali was confined to the last five minutes ...
Anjali is acting DM agent for Garima today ... prevents a Dadi-Garima face to face in her attempt to shield her KP.
Anjali is not only looking over-decked, she's looking almost like a kothevaali madam in those flowers and heavy obviously fake jewelry! Thought Jeevika's jewelry was the high point of bling ... Anjali went even further! Caught the full effect on fuzzy YT video ... Yuck!!!
Quick update on the Arshi scene ... after ages, it made me want to write a full post on it ... but don't have the time ... :-o
LOVED the Arshi scene ... LOVED all the little nuances ... finally they spent time on setting it up, the scene itself and the aftermath ... loved the slightest of 'isharas' with which Arnav calls Khushi aside with just his eyes, she responds with her eyes, follows him instantly ... the changing emotions in the scene, from desire and passion, love, acceptance of his touch, of his right to touch her, and most important ... an acknowledgement of not only love, but also their mutual desire for each other ...
And loved the aftermath as Khushi runs away but keeps inviting him with her eyes back to the dance floor ... waits to see if he's following her ... he put the mehndi for her, now she teases him with her eyes to dance as well ... all their attention only on each other ... Thank you cv's, for spending time on Arshi, and not just giving a random dori scene ... this dori scene worked for me and how! :"> Now this is what I have been crying about ... give Arshi time!!!!

If you are watching online skip the last part fultoo cum faltoo shyam drama to either throw Anjali in the pool or making Anjali slip on those glass pieces.

Anjali has her dimaag ki batti moment and switches off the Home power connection just so Shyam can escape as Arnav gets too close to Shyam.
Rest was okay.....Everyone was dancing to the same music, same dance steps.
You had a dori scene where ASR was oddly a bit formal, khushi was heaving a bit too much, mehhh to be honest.
Garima got introduced to Dadi in the darkness and escaped.
Akash and Payal looked damn cute while dancing.

ASR's dance.......When did he dance, He barely even managed traffic police steps and they made it a point to show either his side or back profile throughout.

I asked the same question when Payash got married, there was no dancing in Mehendi.
Kanjoos PH is this the watered down version of Sangeet we are going to get, all in one day?

Everyone starts dancing, he watches realizes she is okay dancing in that single dori choli when She was not ready to come out in front of me in the privacy of our bedroom on our SR cos she wanted a dupatta. And the one I got her had atleast 3 doris, WT?
Then realizes, the single dori is loose, signals her to come with him. She obliges, he turns her around formally, ties the dori knot, wants to kiss her again..........and she backs off
What is it the 10th time now?
And to completely ruin the moment ( Incase you didnt realize I didn't like the whole set up today) does a Dadi and shows his hand.
I thought he was going to lash out at her, he had the same dadi type angry face.
Phir dekha, in his hand there was a tiny smudge of Mehendi which I am guessing had the letter K, So is that why he was so formal, cos he did not want to smudge his mehendi, awwwwwwwww.....Nahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Today I felt sorry for Anjali ... How unfortunate a person can be not to see love of so many near and dear ones who have taken care of her in every step in her life, a brother who has given up almost everything in his life for her for a person who did nothing than just blabber the exact words she wants to hear!!

DeleteExactly Rekha - and its not even about using your brains - lets say you cant use them and you still believe your husband is as pure as fresh driven snow - but my poingt is - where is teh love and respect you have for this great man - he is being reduced to playing drums for your brothers and al you can think of of sweet of him to risk his life and some meet you And/Or how to save him from meeting your brother - but your sense on pride in your husband is untouched? i mean if i thought my husband was blameless and being humiliated I would have walked out of the house!! I did not feel sorry for her at all .. if she feels that her creepwa husband is doing so much for her that he comes in disguise as laborer, electrician, dhol vaala etc., then she should have the guts to stand up for him ... tell her brother that no, you are wrong about him, he loves me and so I want to go live with him. So then why is she not doing that?
Have been reading all the discussions on Anjali the last few days ... my small contribution on her situation or how I read her ...
Anjali knows deep in her heart that Shyam is NOT reliable. She DOES. She doesn't want to face the fact. She is deeply insecure, having lost her parents, had a broken marriage and now her second marriage breaks up or is on the verge ...
She also knows the only person she can truly rely on is her brother ... which is why she will NEVER severe ties with him, which is why she was petrified about being seen by him.
At the cost of repeating myself ... when have we seen Anjali stand up to Arnav? When she HAD SUPPORT FROM SOMEONE ELSE -
When she fought over La - then, Nani was her support, in fact Nani was the one more upset about La, Anjali tried to make peace between the two, bent to Arnav's wish but found a medium path by the 'live-in that wasn't' solution. And then she had Shyam's support too.
For Khushi, when Anjali called Khushi back, Arnav blew his top ... again Nani supported Anjali, Anjali threw her tantrum, disappeared to the temple, a distraught Arnav agreed to bring Khushi back.
For the sangeet ... Arnav fought with everyone, didn't listen to Anjali, the rest of the family wanted the sangeet, so she threw another tantrum with their support and Arnav agreed for the sangeet.
When Arnav broke the engagement with La and refused to explain or change his mind, even Nani could not make him explain, so Anjali gave up and accepted it.
Arshi marriage ... Anjali upset when Arnav refused to explain, he threatened again to walk out, again Nani was supporting Anjali, but Arnav did not bend, so Anjali bent and accepted Khushi with the conditions of repeat rasams of grihapravesh etc.
So Anjali has never really confronted Arnav on her own. This time when he threw Shyam out, she threw both her tantrums - first refusing to talk to him, called him Arnav instead of Chotey ... he was upset but didn't go running to call Shyam back.
Parallel - she threw tantrum when he threw Khushi out, refused to talk, disappeared to temple - he went running to call Khushi back immediately. Plan A succeeded then, it failed this time.
She then made up with Arnav, reinstated him as her Chotey and begged him to bring Shyam back ... he again refused.
Parallel with Khushi ... she and Nani conspired to bring Khushi back even after La was accepted by Nani, just after Diwali when he and Khushi decided to never see each other again. Plan B succeeded then, Khushi came back, Arnav didn't say anything. Plan B failed this time.
So Anjali is not confronting Arnav about Shyam because A) she knows he will not let Shyam back at any cost. Also she sees Arnav totally in love with Khushi, he admitted it to her, he wore a kurta for Khushi, he's now going through all the rasams only for Khushi ... no way will he allow Shyam back home only on her, Anjali's say so ... Anjali knows this. He will tell Anjali what he told her and now Dadi - Shyam has hurt you, I don't trust him, he can't come back.

She has given Shyam her credit card, she pays Shyam's bills, she keeps trying to convince herself that Shyam loves her, he's a wonderful husband ... if she really believed that, she is legally married to the man, and has been for three years, she now has her Dadi's support ... why doesn't she stand up for him? Simple - because she does NOT trust Shyam and his love. Shyam is her need for her perfect world, he's her protection against the stigma of another broken marriage, he is the father of her coming baby. He completes the picture of a perfect family. And if he has a roving eye, she can actually put up with that, as long as he puts up the facade of being her perfect pati. And now she knows Khushi is NO threat at all - Khushi is as madly in love with Arnav as Arnav is with Khushi ... besides, even if she wasn't, Khushi would never encourage Shyam once she knew he was married - Anjali does know Khushi's morals and values, she knew and loved Khushi way before Arnav did.
So Khushi is not a threat to her marriage, so she is able to accept Khushi as Arnav's wife. The real threat to her marriage is Shyam himself ... and Arnav's insistence on protecting her from Shyam.

Its very important for the story to get that angle right....U have said something very significant about Anji...but what emerges is a not a sick mind or a damaged mind but a weak/selfish mind....Essentially, Anji is a weak person...She has to be if she is willing to keep things on even keel even after processing all this info.
Dia, Anji being mentally fragile can still uplift the story becos she can be shown to be running away from reality becos of her need for a perfect world but an Anji who knows everything and still wants the perfect world will in someways derail the story...What is the then the thing that will break this mirage for her....when complete truth hasn't yet done it yet for her....the fact that her husband will kill her child? when her husband kidnapping her bro has not helped break the mirage.....her awakening to this hardly comes as a jolt...in fact it paints as a very selfish woman.....
Then my next question....Is she just like her mother who was also weak who ran from a situation leaving her children to face the big bad world.....
This brings me back to the next question....Arnav's fear of confronting the past about his mother....his refusal at all times to talk about her....and tie that up with his fear that Anji will also leave him like his mother becos she is just like his mother.........
Makes me wonder if Arnav is really his mother's son?

Deletedont know if he is his mom's son but one thing is now very clear - why he is so overprotective of his sister - if he can see the 'ma-like' qualities in her, am sure he can see the 'ma-like' flaws as well - hence his all consuming sense of protection for her - hence 'his' decisions for her, hence his inability of risking telling his sister the worst parts of her relationship!

In real life, weak mothers can have strong sons....these are not mutually exclusive qualities but somehow in reel life, it always comes with collateral damage.....for the story to progress....i wonder how Arnav will make peace with the situation if it turns out that his mom has committed suicide on knowing that his wife's adoptive mother was a trigger in some way.... will it be with the knowledge that it was all an MU or will it be the understanding that his mother was indeed a weak person who walked away when contrasted that with an person who had to bear the fear of social stigma all her life and yet chose to live for her loved ones like Garima....

then WHYYYYYY am I not liking it???!!!! WHYYYYY am I feeling as though something is missing out from the ArHi scenes??!!! I daresay all the moments have been thoroughly overused...even their guestures didnt look cute to me today..
the ONLY thing that worked was the way she is touched he actually puts mehendi on her hands ... awww she was just kidding but her arnavji loves her too much, he will do literally anything and everything for her (SN - didnt like that part personally though.. mehendi on guys?? no way!!) ... Barun's expression in the end kinda ruined it for me the next second though! :S
the rest I simply skimmed thru..mainly coz I was watching online and the streaming was extremely slow, I got sooo bored!!! Loved the tiny moment in b/w when the lights go off and immediately after checking on di arnav shouts out khushi, even though she is barely standing at a distance of two feet from him.. :)) awww!! :))
the dance steps in b/w were soooo lame and looked as if everybody was dacing just out of some routine and not because they were thoroughly enjoying themselves.. roka dance had much more emotion than today.. :( ok, seriously, CVs...if the ultimate aim is not to show ArHi wedding at all, then kindly do not even go through these rasams everyday with half an heart...either show them enthusiastically or dont show them at all..I don't even mind max screen space given to Anjali-shyam..but the few mins you give us of the shaadi track, let it be shown with 100% dedication and passion and if you cannot, simply skip everything!

DeleteFor the same reason I thought I shouldn't write today. I was in danger of big time ranting after the epi yesterday. SOMETHING IS MISSING IN ARHI.
Rest is actually OK. Just that I am impatient with the story dragging.
But what happened to Arhi? The moment I saw the dress, I knew it was for something. Almost thought he will kiss her in it. Not complaining, but if there is a separation coming up, this was a good moment for the kiss.
Loved the way he slowly turnrd her around and tied her dori. BUT, why no fbs? Either pearl dori or the hut dori. OK even that is OK.
The last Arhi hug - nothing magical about it, just OK.
One thought- ARE THEY WEANING US OFF ARHI?

Episode was OK. Arnav, khushi interaction was quite sweet. Need more of it though if you want people to stay around. The snake is completely insane, he is truly mentally disturbed. The creep and dadi should be locked in a padded cell and the key thrown away. I am finding the snakes antics boring now, it just makes me cring when he has screen space. Wished they could do a different track rather than this one. Why not give more time to payash or a bit more bromance between the three boys, or just,get on with the wedding at a nice steady pace and then the BFTP after wedding nite.

Yes, he could do with a hair cut, but maybe there are reasons behind it, or just no time due to shooting schedules. Thought it was a bit of a shame.

DeleteI think the comments on IF and other places are nothing but expectation of viewers to see some action in a passionate love story....
BS or SI will not decide how the scene is to be portrayed, actors may convey their hesitation on portraying intimate moments on screen but that is never an issue with channels like SP becos it is a conservative channel in any case. The PH itself is also known for handling love scenes with great aestheticism....leaving things to imagination and creating a greater impact with that.
Unfortunately or fortunately, this love story becos of its unique story and hot leads elicited great moments of expectation even in its extreme hate phase so viewers can't fathom why the love phase is so tame....I am not unhappy with the level of intimacy shown on screen becos i know i cannot expect to see any more here but what is impacting my enjoyment is the juxtaposition of the ARHI scenes amid senseless nonsense of Dadi-garima and VLR-Anji. So for its not that the emotion is not there...for me its a case of all other frames spoiling it becos of incoherence...

ReplyDeletehave to hand it to you mothers & teachers out there - i am one of those mothers who never sit with their kids and help them mug up stuff for exams - i totally believe "let the child study at her own pace and she will be fine" - ok, was of this belief and then realized my kid is growing up, course is getting tougher, I need to help - So tried 'helping her prepare for exams' - and all i can say is "my god women, how do you do it!! hats off to all you patient women out there - both mothers who do this and teachers who handle so many at a time - me was loosing it with one!! :D:D

Dam I am confphused with the story , and not to make things better I did go to IF and read all spoilers…
And lots of questions than answer
1. Will TQ get hurt or Khushi?
2. If Khushi is going to get hurt do we have a 360 of pre marriage bangle hurt 360, ambulance and faintwa 360 ??
3. Will DD Garima face will happen before marriage or after ?
4. Where will be the face off at terrace, pool or front of DM ???
5. Will ASR use his dimaag to understand that everything isn’t right with his DI?
6. Will we have ever have Akash and payal to have more than saying one line in each episode and just two mins of Arhi ?
With all this questions what I want to see is
1. Khushi getting hurt 360 of bangle hurt and faintwa and arnav fussing over her… ambulance is already done during the kidnapping not interested at this point… and not over failed plans of VRL to stop the marriage…
2. Now comes the big question of when will be the 2 truth of past (K-A past) and present(Shyam-Anji Milan) come out. What I would love is it be after marriage ..
3. What I feel is that the first truth of past should come out , it has be half truth, which is going to lead a MU from Khushi side, it might after the pheras .. like the wedding goes off well and when the couples start taking blessings they find DD&A missing and find then confronting in front of DM… Khushi hears that the Maliks were responsible for her parents death, and is shattered and run way from there , Arnav is shocked but recovers enough to search Khushi , unable to find K goes to either pool side or terrace and finds his DI having madhur Milan, he is broken, comes back to his room , finds Khushi informing him that although she loves him ,she needs time to take it in and leaves for GH.. bitwa too shattered to respond lets go K..
4. Bitwa left alone with all the shock goes into the peetal bartan and ruthless ASR. Nani and others do not know about the anji shyam fiasco, thinks its all about K leaving…
5. Nani feels K coming back will be good. K is brought back on the grounds that she is married and society.. DD agrees in with the social stigma if the truth comes out..
6. So we can have the emotional distance while they both under one roof…
7. Then we can the DD&G and bitwa face off with all the past of ‘who auraat’ in open..
8. Bitwa giving Anji cold shoulders confusing all is including Anji who will try to be there to cover up her betrayal. If there is 360 then let anji suffer this time from ASR… let her know how K was treated.
9. Mean while shyam can plot all his failed experiments … which might open eyes of DD or anji…

1. no point in TQ getting hurt..Khushi getting hurt is better as that will show ASR taking care of her.. and i am expecting K to notice that TQ's gone and going and checking on her..(she is capable of doing that!!)
2. The way the CV's are going..the 360 may happen..for a few seconds..uumm,,,minutes..
3. G-DD face off should happen after the wedding..even if A&K are upset with each other.. they'll have no way to escape from that relationship (not that they would want to!)..they'll be hurt..but will sort it out..
4. G will not go to the terrace or pool side..i expect it in the hall..
5. i believe he has already started noticing..did you see the slight shift in his expression seeing his sister sweat and look around for someone? he was like who is she looking for types!
6. Nope. I do NOT see that happening..more of ArHi yeah..definitely..or else no one will watch the show..i have no hope for Payash...
Oh..and i don't think Khushi will ever run away...even with an MU..she just is not the type..she maybe upset and hurt..but she won't run...

I found the Arhi scene very sweet and not at all wanting. I thinks its unfortunate that I watched SBS ever because that made Barun and Sanaya very real to me and in certain scenes their own traits/ nerves are visible and we aren't able to attribute them to the character but that's not because of their acting skills I think its because of over exposure to the actors..
I really wish Akash would get some more screen time...
And I agree I hope Khushi goes running off to find Di and Creeptacular has to hide and Khushi gets hurt instead of Di...I wouldn't even mind if Payal is the one who gets injured....anyone other than the world's most gaudy Christmas tree...
Gargs and Anita ... I haven't made any changes, but even I find a lot of comments going into Spam, and I have to keep retrieving them ... I'm travelling between different states in the US and I don't know if the Spam filters reset themselves or what is happening. I haven't been watching or even reading any off-screen segments the last week or so, barely have time to watch the episode once ... and I simply loved it. I found the mehndi scene the day before rushed ... they stuffed it into the last two minutes and it didn't work for me ... yesterday they spent time on Arshi, made their scene slow and unhurried, gave both the buildup and the aftermath enough time, and after a very long time I felt the passion and the heat, rather than just the cuteness and love.
Am pretty sure Khushi will get hurt, and maybe have to stay back at RM without Garima ... and the marriage will therefore take place for sure, Garima -Dadi will confront only after the pheras are over, and the BFTP and tension will start between Arshi after they are well and truly married ... after all, they have to keep them apart after marriage ... SR cannot happen so soon.

1.If Anji does glass dance, she will not connect the dots? Who has come from outside who'd remove her shoes? Who'd put glass to injure her?
2. ASR will not connect the dots. CCTV equipment bill.. funny wiring.. the man who suddenly disappeared..the band guy who looked like Shyam..Di does glass dance.
Then, what is the point in showing all these things?

Hey ladies, quick hello hi before I make the new post and head out for the day ... am with family now, so internet access is much better :)))
ReplyDeleteAm surprised so many of you didn't like the Arshi scene ... I watched it on a public bus in the middle of a whole bunch of people on a very fuzzy YT video and I STILL felt the chemistry oozing ... after a very, very long time :))) After ages, the passion was back, not just love and teasing.
Being so busy has kept me from speculating about what is going to happen, and it made a difference to my viewing ... I am not thinking about who will get hurt, when will Arnav connect the dots etc ... and I find I am really enjoying the show a lot ... especially the Arshi parts. Creepwa and Poojali are very boring as always ... and a huge part of the problem is that Anjali/DB is not able to pull off more than five expressions. Also they are spending too much time on Shyam's actions and his plan preparations ... it seems that those scenes are fillers ... is there a deadline that I don't know about? After such a hectic pace, they have suddenly slowed down ... much to the advantage of the show, in my opinion ... the last two days we actually saw a festive atmosphere, once the doom and gloom of the godh bharayi got over with.

Just some of ASR's moony expressions (other than the dori scene- he was PERFECT there)- I feel the director is not spending enough time there. They're rushing thru some bits of Arhi... some loss of continuity... may be something is coming up and RIGHT NOW Arhi is not important to the director. I don't even know what I am saying. But on the whole, it was a GOOD episode.
On deadline: Supposedly a ME on 15th.
IF is buzzing with a lot of things- interesting and confusing.

DeleteARHI or should i say BS_SI, whichever way u look at it, make their scenes count whether it is for 5 secs or 5 mins.....be it in they way they look at each other or say anything to each other.....this has been the pattern from day one and it would make for a very badly written scene for them not to register their presence (a rarity, imo).....so i can watch them any time and i will never have complaints....i am not looking for greater intimacy becos frankly Sab kuch ho gaya toh baad mein kya hoga? clamouring for greater intensity is not going to help becos the track is poised for a crescendo...
I can't however enjoy the whole epi becos of the absurdity of the other tracks esp when i think they will/should converge at the same point.....Shyam fails to evoke any dread anymore....when the villain starts to looks comical, i wonder what is the high point of drama? DD?? Garima??

For fans of racy reading, the openness, ease, and acceptability of modern affairs cause modern novels to lose a little luster, but the strict moral code of past eras makes infractions of it that much more enticing. The barriers society and religion placed before immorality translate into exciting obstacles to be overcome. The secrecy needed to conduct such behavior titillates readers and adds intricacy to a plot. As one wise man put it, "Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant." In an era where "everything is ok," it seems that novelists must return to a bygone age in order to find rules to break."

DeleteThe obstacles in contemporary setting are fairly easy to jump and well, u also have the choice to avoid it if the going gets tuf.LOL...which is why obstacles like "utter ruin and disgrace in the eyes of society," or "excommunication and certain damnation." which can be woven into contemporary setting make for interesting reading /watching...
when i first read about IPK, i would be honest the fact that there were these obstacles ( initially i did not know the Shaym angle but the whispers of a diffi past and the shyam angle just increased my appetite for it) drew me to it...I have said before here, i am not interested in love stories where once the lovers come together, no one remembers why they were apart or why/how they came together...Gul's story promised me of a story where i will never forget what kept them apart and what will bring them together...so it is a classical love tale in my definition and i am yet to be disappointed....
Yes, there are glitches galore, absurdities that i can't fathom but the story's promise still has not faded for me so i chug along....

DeleteYou described the essence of a true love story very beautifully. A true love story NEEDS obstacles and a good part of the charm of the IPK story is the obstacles that the star-crossed lovers have to surmount. Their social and class differences were one set, the MU between Shyam was another - to be honest, that was a very weak one, and I'm really not sure why it was stretched so much. Now the BFTP promises to be yet another, and since this is the original premise of the story, I'm hoping this has been well thought out and they will do it better than the Shyam MU.
Regarding the contract ... that HAS been laid to rest. Check out my TWTW on this blog about the last scene at the Gupta house when Arnav Khushi finally talk about the contract ... it was very clear from that they both know the contract was only being used as an excuse by both of them - by him to force her to stay back, and by her to leave ... but the real reason was Di. And when she finally took off that fake plaster from her foot, and he said 'let's stop telling lies now, let's stick to the truth,' ... and she agreed to come back ... the contract story ended. They both knew she was coming back for good, and that they had to tackle Di together. After that, if you notice, Khushi has never tried or even thought about leaving RM again ... in fact it was after that she realised that they hadn't done the pheras, so their marriage was not strictly complete. All the while the marriage was a contract, that part never bothered her ... why did it start bothering her now? Because she knew the marriage was for keeps now.

I get angry, irritated ... but I still come back, the Arshi magic still draws me back. And I can pretty much ignore the parts I don't care for and just concentrate on what I like ... now the BFTP is holding my interest, Shyam's shenanigans really are not, except for vaguely wondering how they will impact Arshi, and whether they even will or not.

A love story has appeal only when there is an obstacle or chance of a delay in it coming to fruition.. As long as there is conflict and tension (both situational and sexual) between the lead characters - the hook for the reader/viewer is there...Once that is resolved and taken for granted - they become about as interesting as your next door neighbors :) And frankly it is the anticipation and imagination of th viewer that adds to the intensity of the romantic scenes..for some its much ado about nothing for others its the end of the world :)
I loved the Arshi scene yesterday - finally the CT took the time to enact of her Heer Ranjha dialogue - jab do pyar karne wale milte hai to aankhen bolti hain :) Aur BS-SI ki Aakhen bahut zabardast bolti hain :)
Khushi looked truly radiantly happy - I fell in love with her again - Arnav ka kya haal hua hoga :)
And the blogger bhukkad is not showing any mercy to newbies like me either - it ate a post I made last night abpout loving Arshi in this episode:(
