LOVED Mami's fightwa ve ... you rock, Mami!!! Chilli powder to the rescue! Helped by a ladle or two, and a couple of kicks! Way to go!!!
MK duo make their way to next station - Daryaganj ... home of chicken Manchurian and 8 goons. And realize they have to be careful ... keep your voices down then, ladies Bond!
Mr KN, all cleaned up, re-appears ... car is ready ... Boss is coming too ... which means Arnav is here.
And Arnav makes an appearance, blindfolded and hands tied ...
As does the mysterious Boss, complete with silent menacing gestures and no talks pleeaze ... Shyamu minus his Dabang bracelet. Mami and Khushi don't recognise him ...
And Arnav hears the KN's talking about a girl trying to find him, and he knows it's Khushi ... thanks God, the MU should now be well and truly over!!!
One fight scene between blindfolded Arnav and three goons ... little bit philmy, but the goons managed to chloroform him ... he did not become Sallu and bash up all the goons single-handedly! And as he's carried out, Khushi and Mami catch a glimpse of him ... and Khushi almost goes berserk ... barely restrained by Mami ... loved Khushi's expressions here ... and the way Mami looked at her, as though knowing she might do something really stupid and ready to stop her, but aching for her at the same time ...
More fighting when Arnav wakes up in new hideout ... but doesn't have a chance outnumbered ... though he manages to get in a couple of punches ... does he catch a glimpse of the Boss?!
Too much fighting in the episode for me ... hope there's not so much on Monday :( but I didn't like the precap :(

Khushi cornered and held at gun point by very angry kidnapper ... a slip of a girl hoodwinked him? Dunno what he's waiting for (like his boss), but Mami has enough time to open box of chilli powder, warn Khushi to shut her eyes and 'ducks! ducks!' ... and Mami chucks chilli powder into KN's eyes - forget pepper spray, here's the real thing!!! Way to go, Mami!!! =D>
And as KN writes in pain and releases Khushi, Mami is even more riled up and furious - he dared to hurt Khushi, is he the same guy who threatened Arnav also? A terrified Khushi says yes, ... but can we please leave now, this is no time to be settling those scores ... but Mami is too furious ... how dare the goon even think of hurting her, Manorama's loved ones?! So she gets in a few whacks with a ladle and some kicks as well ... before Khushi manages to drag her out!

And Khushi feels the same way ... as she hugs Mami ... you saved me ...

Mami was trying to stop Khushi earlier, thinking things were getting too dangerous, but now Mami is equally heated up ... they're not gonna stop till they reach Arnav ...

While Mr KN receives another call from his boss, tells him that the two girls reached there, is worried if the girls got any incriminating evidence, and leaves for Daryaganj also ...
He said 'the two' reached there ... so Boss knows there are two of them ...
Off to Daryaganj ... Mami asks Khushi the plan, Khushi just wants to confirm that Arnav is there, and also find out who's behind the whole kidnapping ... and they do remember they have to be careful ... even though they're walking in the middle of the road ... :))
Reach new warehouse, hide, just as KN arrives ... he was quick! And he has a car ready ... have they already decided to change the hideout yet again? KN tells some unseen people that Boss is coming ...
KN is here, goons are here, Boss is coming ... so Arnav has to be here too. Khushi's logic is actually right.
Arnav is very much here, blindfolded, hands tied behind back, trying to find his way out ... why didn't they tie him to a chair again? Ran out of rope? And he hears that Boss has arrived.
Khushi and Mami see silhouette of 'Boss' ... looks like Shyam, walks like Shyam, is stricken dumb ... but no Shyam type bracelet ... they wait ...
KN and goons discuss their problems in life with silent Boss ... the two women are just not giving up, especially the girl ... she is full time into hunting for Arnav ... they need to shift Arnav before she reaches here too, although KN is sure girl did not get any evidence from his house, but still, better make sure ...
And Arnav hears ... knows that Khushi is hot on his trail yet again and hasn't given up hope of finding him ... *pause* .... thank the lord!!! MU over?!
He's worried .. no, Khushi, don't come here, you'll get into problem again ...
When has Khushi ever listened to him when he told her not to do something?
And as they concentrate on each other, gust of wind blows ... and Khushi knows he is here ... they need to move ahead ...
Boss makes silent gestures ... reminded me of Sir Juda in Karz :)) ... and goons hear an energised Arnav beating and kicking at the door again ... he just doesn't give up ... ever since he met Khushi and knew she cared, his spirit and fight is back ...
Goons go to take care of Arnav and get him ready for the move ... takes three of them to bring him down ... gave BS a chance to show his BW fighting moves, but fortunately not as philmy as the grill scene, the guys do manage to subdue him and chloroform him ...
While Khushi and Mami move ahead and see the silhouette of Boss again, talking on the phone ... to whom? Will my wish for third party villain come true yet?
KN comes and goes ... Boss starts to move away, stops, turns, moves towards them (girl, stop talking!!!) ... sees no one and moves away again ...
Mami realises the danger and says they need to leave ... and they see the goons carrying out an unconscious Arnav ... as they load him into the van, his blindfold falls off (another sign that Arnav's blinkers are off and the MU is finally over?)
Khushi looks on horrified, petrified ... it's him .. it's really him ... but where are they taking him ... what's happening to him ...
Mami looks at her, understanding, equally horrified, but ready to make a move if Khushi does something stupid, which in her frantic worry, she is very likely to do ...
Loved their expressions here ... Khushi horrified, frantic, emerges from her hiding place as she realises they are taking her Arnav away ... scared she won't ever see him again ... Mami runs equally frantically to stop her ... wait, we can't do anything right now, he's in danger and so are we ... wait ... but Khushi sees the van moves and forgets everything about the danger, everything except that they're taking him away ... and runs frantically calling his name ... as the van moves off ... too late ...
KN gets whacked by Boss ... sorry about the girls. Goon - captive is still unconscious.
Arnav wakes up in strange place, not sure - does he recognise where he is? Or is he just checking out the place? Hears the goons, looks through crack in door and sees the ear of Boss ... Boss is still silent ... so cv's maintaining the mystery till Monday ...but from the silhouette, this Boss is Shyam all right ... the question is does he have another boss?
So Arnav wants to know who the Boss is as well ... pretends to be unconscious so the goons take him into the next room ... where Boss is sitting in shadow in a rocking chair ... taking some well-earned rest apparently ...
And Arnav rises and lunges ... and starts the fight ... trying to get the man's face into the light ... will he succeed on Monday?

Alternate theory is Arnav will pretend to Disbelieve Khushi just so he can expose Shyam.

ReplyDeletethe kidnapping track has been exciting for several reasons and I for one also have decided not to question any logic here. The second search thankfully has been short and we are proceeding to find the KN. And surprise surprise it is Shyamu ? This reminds me of the start of the show when the speculation was is Shyam Anji's husband and it was . So all my hoped that there was more masala to this 'napping is blown away.
Masala was plenty in todays episode. Dare I say I really liked it . Very filmy but suits ASR . Boss iski himmat nahin tooti. Now that he has the knowledge of Khushi's love ODB is going to fight. The last final few mins of dishum-dishum was a stretch but its okay. BS had to display his BW prowess.
Mami & Khushi. I am waiting to see their interaction after the KN ends. Will they become friends or mami will turn back to her prickly self. Love the emotions that Khushi is showing her , hugs & hand holding.
Loved today and wanting more next week. ...Need some logic and expalination too.

I still want a third party as Boss ... but losing hope now :( Next week, things should move faster, now that Shyam has finally come into the open. Even when Shyam's truth was to come out, the cv's kept playing games like this for a long time ... showing the coincidental phone calls, the half conversations and Shyam trying to send the sister away from the temple, just before he finally appeared as Anjali's missing husband. And after that, things moved.
And heard on the Hangout that BS is back from 10th, that's Sunday, so I think the rest of this track will move faster now. Anyway, now more action needed on the Khushi-DM and NK front ... waiting for Monday.
Dia khushi and mami going back at this point seems illogical .. After K running out even after mami trying to stop her ?? they will return to RM only if they want to drag this track for one more week!!
DeleteAll you might find is Khushi runs out finds a rickshaw and asks to follow and reach the place, wait it out praying her DM to help and next moment we find shyam holding gun at Bitwa and she comes in between to save ASR and gets hurt ??? mami takes another rickshaw and follows and calls up NK !!! The trio bitwa mami and Nk take khushi to the hospital, while VRL goes to RM and enlightens everyone that K was involved in kidnapping and he save bitwa. the RM wasi MU Khushi while mami will hold the fort at RM and ASR will WRTR..... what wrong with me today ??? Ok I need to stop my rant here !!!

Gave me more time to think about the hut scene and the whys and whats.
After many re-watches and re-reading Dia’s edits:
I was totally wrong in my first interpretation of bitiya’s response to bitwa’s advances.
She was all for it!
When I listen to that song, so beautiful, Arhi introduced me to this song,
heere moti main na chaahoon
main toh chaahoon sangam tera
main na jaanu
tu hi jaane
main toh teri
tu hai mera
All I can think of is bitiya’s yearning , her pleading with him to return her love.
She does not blame him for marrying her like this.
She has found the reason, knows she is partly to blame for hiding the truth.
(Throws me back to the Khushi introspection post jalebi.
I remember someone in R&R wondering why she was introspecting at that point in time, since she had been aware of her feelings all the time.
I feel that realization by Khushi was warranted then, because it came after “aap hamare baare mein itni khatiya soch rakh sakthe hain?” and “aapki soch aapko mubaarak” and she realized that in spite of all that had happened and whatever he thought about her, she could only love him. That was the point where she asked herself, Iss pyar ko kya naam doon?)
And oh yes, it was complete surrender on her part here!
Coming to bitwa, Barun’s shy expression as he remembers the ‘ILU’ took me to that post ladder scene- the first shared smile. It reminded me of the embarrassed (confused?) “I know” as he breaks into that smile.
DeleteASR started having a change of heart much before the kidnap.
After the first shared smile came the saheliyan convo which made him realize the injustice he had meted out to her.
Then came Shyam’s gift wrapper with the memory of the terrace scene, but it was (surprisingly) quickly erased by the Khushi- Garima convo and he resolved to become a better pati.
It led onto that beautiful hand holding in the bed and he was suddenly patient towards all of bitiya’s eccentricities.
(Want to break off here: If the hut scene had happened here, wouldn’t he have had some bit of the same passion, with bitiya looking so delectable? But Khushi wouldn’t have melted like this.)
Then came the ME with Khushi succeeding in getting the reason out atlast!( what she couldn’t do with the pleading, angry, silent, non co-operative or irritating avatars, the suicidal Khushi accomplished!)
Then the highway Arhi convo- more heartbreak, no clearing of MU.
The dhaaga scene - Arnav still suspicious of her intentions.
The farewell at the airport, where he wonders why he feels like this at leaving her behind. ( I repeat, he is not asking himself if she could be innocent, because ‘chhap gayi woh baat’ still.)
ASR’s dimaag started working there, unfortunately he concentrated only on his feelings towards her.
Sitting in that thinking chair, kidnapped, cemented the awareness that he can forgive and love her in spite of all the flaws (‘kis mitti ki bani hai ?, ’ because you have no character’ ‘drama bandh karo’)
He must have asked himself Iss pyar ko kya naam doon?
And…… he might even have started considering that she could be innocent.
Then the hut scene happened.
DeleteBarun’s expressions were fantastic throughout, the one that struck me most was the look on his face as he was holding the dori.
In the SBS, it was not clear.
But in the actual episode they took the trouble to show two close-up shots of Arnav.
Girls, if you did not notice that (it took me 3 or 4 re- watches), please take a look again.
I am wary to predict bitwa’s thoughts because there has been no introspection and everything is speculation; yet that look seems to say it all.
My interpretation of that moment:
He gazes at her tenderly, knows she is longing for him, wonders if he should proceed, because the next step would mean that she is his forever.
The very next second, still thinking clearly, he decides to take that very big step.
The MU may or may not have cleared, she may or may not be innocent, but HE IS NEVER GOING TO LET HER GO!
That 6 month contract just got erased there!
OK. I am sorry if I end up misleading you all, but I had to share this.
I am careful to be a pessimist when it comes to IPK (I believe the CVs behave like they read our analyses and take the exact opposite direction); in case that happens, and the MU still exists, this is my take on the hut scene:
It will always be beautiful and meaningful (no matter what happens in the future) because they came together in FORGIVENESS (and of course relief, and ahem, a bit of sensuality!).
No amount of ugly MU is going to change that wonderful truth that was riding high there at that point of time. And it WAS NOT a trp stunt, it was a TURNING POINT in Arhi relationship.
Ha Ha CVs, now you canot ruin the hut scene for me whichever way you take the story forward!!!
Confessions:
1. Barun was bloody good with those expressions. Even if he wants to go, 4 lions will never let him leave the show. And boy, is he going places?
2. It is foolish of me to expect an introspection from ASR. Arnav Singh Raizada never shares his thoughts. We will have to catch his side of the story through fbs and expressions. On Monday, it was easy to follow Khushi’s feelings because the song was all about her surrender. ASR had to be caught through his expressions!
3. I am a tubelight.
4. Hell, now I am seeing symbolisms too! That burial in the hay signified him burying his old perception of Khushi. That strike on her head is hopefully (still hoping! I don’t trust these CVs) the last time he will knowingly hurt her. And that kiss on her forehead and longing look is his reluctance to let go of even the imperfections in her.
5.End of anni week, and I am disappointed there was no anni promo. Still wishing they had promoted the anniversary in a better way.
Su it was complete surrender by Khushi at the Hut... the song they chose to play during those intimate moments was all about that...."ye nayi-nayi suhaagan, ho gyi hai teri jogan..."

So it was mutual ... and you're very right, there can't be ... and there SHOULDN'T be any going back from that point.

A reason why older ones are smarter .... they are knowledgeable enough to handle/present their negatives in a very positive manner.
khushi - time& again she has been told by Shashi-Arnav that she is not alone and she does not have to do everything by herself .... yet she went ahead with what she thought right .... today she has Mami with her .... a strong bond with her MIL which even she in her dreams did not think of .... yet she will not confide in Mami when she gets to know about Shyaam .... what will befall on her this time ??
arnav - he has been asked/pleaded by his Nani and his sister(his life) not to lose his temper as he does and will do things he will regret .... former dragged past whereas later worried about future ..... then comes khushi who states the present to her .... a present that matters the most to arnav .... you lose sight when you lose temper .... yet it does not cross his mind to reign it in when situation arises ..... he will lose his temper again when he gets to know about shyaam-khushi agreement .... what will befall on him this time?
shyaam - he is delusional, hence has no proper sight of what he wants .... a pendulum of thought between khushi and anjali or rather we can say arnavs love and arnavs money .... there came a time when he saw he could get neither due to the man named ASR .... so he came up with a way to get both forcefully with making arnav feel as helpless as he felt a while ago .... also shyaams relationships has a reason, its over when the purpose is served, hence no change in equation of those relationship .... so he believes all relationships to be same that it does not evolve with time ..... he thinks he has everything under control without emphasizing on the time that passed and changes that took place .... in his delusional pride he brags .... what will befall on him this time?
This is why I love IPK team ..... They portray human nature beautifully!

everyone in the PH has other serials/things to do.. the writer, the producer, the creative team.. how can this show work properly when CVs are working on it only part time??
i have seen backstage videos showing that half of the (director's and actors') hard work does not get used.. because the storyline gets changed midway. they shoot some scenes, then the whole idea gets scrapped.. we see sanaya complaining that she works her feet off.. and it is true!
if a good storyline has been decided on, the whole thing will go smoother.. we see barun saying we get a new script everyday.. =the creatives are trying hard to find a track that clicks.. but all i see is a creative team that does not find the time to sit together and decide on a future track. okay, they know where arnav and khushi will be in one months time, but they have no idea how to use the (side characters =family) in situations... i say add another person who sees the whole serial.. not just individual characters. (add to the creative team!)
Jaya ... WORD!!! Very true ... no one seems to have a clue as to where the story is heading, and they don't seem to have the time to sit and decide either! I believe GH is now working on Madhubala as well as SNS and IPKKND - when they have to write twenty minute content daily five days a week, for three shows (if not more, these are the only ones I know), then no wonder the quality suffers!

ReplyDeleteDon’t know why I am writing this – its ancient history now but still, I guess this is all the process of detox :D My take on the past two weeks (kidnapping onwards, after re-watching all the episodes):
Characters:
ODG – simply perfect :D – funny, klutzy, amazingly positive, a go getter, loving to point of no return etc etc – she has been always in character – except for a few episodes after her wedding – but then there was justification for her behavior then – she was in shock – she loved this guy to bits and he turns out to be jerk (or so she thought!) – She may not have been always successful and her ideas were not exactly intelligent but she kept trying (as Mami puts it – Trying to kee na tum!) – Trying to find answers, trying to sort out her feelings, trying to be independent, Yes – she defiantly was always true to herself! – though the CV can’t seem to decide how they want her to react – so she starts off by getting all angry at ODB – saying – you deserve nothing but my silence – and then does a complete U turn – goes all weepy and asking for forgiveness/one chance – (one and the same thing) kinds – However, we still can find some excuse for her reactions –
1) if she does not do this and ODB continues to be the stubborn ass, the story won’t move and as always – she is the first one to extend the olive branch
2) she truly loves the guy and wants to do whatever it takes to make this work – when she thought he was in love with someone else – she had decided to move aside (albeit in a very very philmy style – but still..) Now she knows there is no one else – so she tries to make it work – till here – we can still find logic and justifications
ODB – very like ODG – a never give up attitude, a go getter, family is all important BUT very different means – does not believe in the finer emotions - no, love and trust are not to be easily given or shared with anyone but family. However the CVs have been very very unfair to ASR – they have just not put in the effort to chisel out his character, the nitty grities of being ASR – they would have done it real well if they had actually shown some past history and reasons for him being him. That aside – this shatir dimagh, suave street smart businessman is actually never given a chance to use his brains – he did not realize he was doing business with a group of conmen, he did not realize that the girl he loves is utterly incapable of being conniving! Chalo he did not know that in the beginning – but did he do anything to find out? NO - did he look into her and TFs relationship, did he inbhestigate, even after her honest heartfelt words at holi (which he remembers BTW), even when she tells him the truth (the roadside confrontation)– did he bother to try and find out (we all hoped he was in Lucknow trying to do so but no he was not even headed there!) – nope, he did nothing and just waited…
Then he gets kidnapped – And the ILU - he said it coz he had to, he had to let her know, his expressions truly showed that he relaxed after saying it out loud. Till the ILU and her initial reactions and their meeting for the first time after the kidnapping, it all made sense, perfect sense – their reactions at seeing each other – pure pleasure – heartfelt relief nothing else mattered, then came up the points of concern, worry - how did you get here, what of you got hurt...
Part 2:
DeleteThen I saw the sbs/promo if the hut scene – and I lost it, I mean there is limit to accepting the ridiculous (i gave up on normal logic looong ago – i was using Arhi logic, even then ..) – I just could not find any more excises for ODB – the CVs (in my mind) had actually killed the charter – this guy – the shatir dimagh did nothing, nothing to help the situation till now, to the extent that he just sat in a corner even when his hands were free!!!! And his wife reached him – and now, the one chance he gets of saving her – doing something for her – what does he do – gives in to his baser needs – how selfish can you get – how moronic!! I mean I had all but washed my hands off him – but then given that the CVs do deliver something unexpected I watched the episode – have to say I liked it – No, he did not give in to his stupid misplaced urges – he actually started by getting her to relax – find her light. He was not thinking of her in the sexual sense to the extent that he asked her to change to help her feel more comfortable - (so actually it was ODG who was all naughty! – she was conscious of one bare shoulder but perfectly alright with a bare back – nonexistent shoulders, a cleavage and a waist showing!!!) – Then he loses it – and had to give it to him – she was enticing! – so he becomes all ASR – it was fun to watch :D and finally he does something to save her – something that actually showed he cared more for her than anyone else (ps. all the time in the hut he only wanted to know how she knew he was in danger – no questions asked about Di, family..)
Now all of a sudden ODB has the josh in him to fight off goons, even blind folded – one rendezvous in the hut and this happens – just imagine what will happen if he actually gets her…. :D :D
Mami – perfectly in character – smart, willing to help, cant show she cares but care she does and very very willing to hunt down the kidnappers who dared to mess with her kids! – have loved her form the beginning and am glad the CVs have not messed her up (if fact if you remember before the weddings when Payal gets her tea – she had been crying about having her as a DIL ad when she sees Payal she goes – ‘she also has long life – now what do I do!!” – perfect dialogues for her – she can’t accept the girl but she can’t actually wish her any ill will either, does not call her the devil – says she has a long life!
All the others – the CVs unfortunately seem to have very one track minds- they just can’t concentrate on all characters at a time – no one and I mean no one in RM even Akash who runs a business under his brother seem to worry that he has neither called/contacted anyone – even for business – no emails even – and no one is bothered?? But finally Akash and Payal may actually have a side track worth watching, even if they are oblivious to their siblings plight (blind!!! And this when both were shown to be the first ones to notice any trouble with their respective siblings and stand by them!!)
Part 3:
DeleteSN 1 – ODB has been a good learner, his expressions have been really really bang on and he has improved many times over in the past year. To CVs – please do not use BD, apart from the fact that we don’t like it – ODB &G need each other to get the perfect expressions - every time there is a BD – the expressions are just not perfect – in fact even SI needs BS to give her best – without BS her expressions lack the passion!
SN2 – CV please get rid of your habit of putting in songs in the imp scenes- i mean no matter how well suited the songs are – the lyrics may be perfect as in the song after he ILU, in the hut – but they ruin the show – trust your own creation – use your own RV – after all the story was built on that – it adds to the ‘feel’ of IPK – these outside sings don’t
Finally – the way ahead – the CVs have a lot of options let’s hope they don’t mess this up:
1) Shyam, is the villain – he gets exposed – no more MU = no more story as it is now
2)Shyam is the villain but he escapes detection and ODG&B get together to find out who was behind all this – have a feeling TF could actually come out in the open in the end and say I ‘saved’ ODB and hence fool all, wife, mami etc except ODC
3) Shyam + some blast from the past is the villain – so even if he is caught – the war continues

I was forced to miss the first 7 days of this kidnap drama.
Came back and saw the 8th epi and was like, did anything happen at all?
Hit the blog, got the relevant scenes from Dia's edits and realised that nothing much had happened.
And to think I was in anguish for 10 days not knowing what happened to dear bitwa!(No TV, no net- perfect way to detox- B4 any of you wonder, I was not kidnapped!)

And I was lucky that most of it was Arhi meeting up!

DeleteMona, agree with you on most of your summary, including that ASR's character has actually been tampered with the maximum ... a shatir businessman and he hasn't taken a single step to verify either his KJ's character or Khushi's story ... and hasn't done anything after being kidnapped to get out of the situation, except for trying to bash up the goons - an effort doomed to failure when he is so badly outnumbered! He could have tried the Phas Gaye Re Obama stunt ... the businessman there happily bribed and manipulated his way out of captivity from one gang to the next, making his money along the way ... if the cv's had to choose a film to lift, they could have taken some pointers from there. But the problem is that BS was not to shoot a strong parallel "what is ASR doing in captivity" track.
So the main problem in the track, as well as the main reason for it was BS'a absence from the show for a month ... for this I blame the PH as well as the actor ... the PH could have put their foot down and said no film for you, you're under contract ... I don't think BS is such a fool that he would have walked out of the show at that point ... and if he was, the PH should have enough faith in their creation to find a new guy ... after all, BS didn't start shooting for the film overnight. And I guess that's where his overnight resounding success as ASR came in the way ... that Gopi vhau has been replaced overnight after three years of being the face of SNS with no major dhamaka in the industry, but this PH didn't have the guts to take that decision.
Opti, DITTO with you completely ... we need the kidnapping track to wrap up NOW ... it's been dragged for far too long already ... we know the reason, but that doesn't make it any better. Another problem the PH has is that no parallel track has really worked either, so they had to run with the MaShi bonding ... let's hope this week we have some major progress on the MaShi side, NK comes in, Khushi figures out Shyam's involvement and tracks him to wherever he is keeping Arnav and the final rescue happens.
If Arnav is not doing anything major in all this, then they can just progress the rescue track as swiftly as possible ... and give some random family scenes with Anjali starting to worry, Payal getting agitated about her social problems and talking to Anjali about them, Akash trying to reach Arnav and at least beginning to wonder why he isn't in touch - phone is unreachable, but he should be able to message or email surely ... the complete nonchalance on the part of the family is really getting too strange now.
Mona, I agree with Su - I actually don't have a problem with putting in film songs when they are suitable ... too much of Rabba ve is an overkill ... I even prefer the instrumental piano version to the vocal one most times. And I liked Saiyyan ... the song expressed Khushi's feelings very well, and emphasized that she was on the point of surrender ...
and Way Ahead ... I would like option 3 please :)
Dia, to be fair to the PH, Gopi Vahu and ASR are not in the same league. Replacing Barun would definitely dented their trps for awhile and if the replacement is not good, they could have faced shutting shop because Star Plus is ruthless when it comes to trps or the lack of it. They don't give too long a rope for a show to find its bearings. They would have wound up the show or pushed it into an afternoon slot. So I think both Barun and the PH need each other. The kidnapping was the result of Barun's absence but they haven't handled ASR's character well even before that. ASR did practically nothing for two months. They could have at least shown him trying to get to the bottom of it but being thwarted by Shyam who always seems to be ahead. They are doing it for Khushi where she tries to get to the truth but Shyam keeps misleading her.

Opti, I agree, I was saying exactly the same thing ... if BS is popular because of ASR, ASR is popular because of BS and the PH couldn't take the risk of replacing him ... which is why we're in this mess story-wise!
DeleteBut the PH alone is responsible for the mess they made of ASR's character even when he was shooting full time, by making ASR blindly believe Shyam and not make any attempt to find out his truth ... especially after Khushi told him the real story, even then he made no attempt to verify it.
They really need to concentrate on the STORY as a whole, they spent so much time building each character, and now they seem to have forgotten everything they did!

Mona, a nice run down on the characters and where the story might be headed. I want Shyam to be caught now. Enough of the creep having his blast. It is high time justice is delivered and also for the leads to start the romance track. I think they may not go all out on the romance because of what would happen to Anji. I'd like to see the two of them help Anj deal with the repercussions of having married a creep like Shyam. If Anj stays true to her character she may go into deep depression and would require all the emotional support from the two people closest to her. Their love for each other in deep but they put off openly expressing it keeping in mind Anj's sensitivity. So we get to see a more mature expression of their love. Once Anj is out of the woods, I want her to actively plan for their remarriage. The festivities can easily hold the viewers for a month or more. After the wedding, just as they are about to start their new life comes the news that Shyam has broken from his prison and is untraceable. While this may cause them worry they try to push this aside and start a new life. This is where their joint past comes to haunt them. We could later be told that Shyam is responsible for digging it up and distorting the truth. In short, after nearly four months of MU, I want at least two months of happiness for Arshi before the next catastrophe in their lives.

This weekend I just caught the reruns of the episodes telecast in the last two weeks and I'm really liking it, Dia. The script seems to be tight and the production value looks really good. I like Drashti too. Only problem is it clashes with the Behena show which I watch too. So I guess I'll keep flipping back and forth or catch the episode the next day on youtube. I have a similar problem with Punar Vivah (Gurmeet's show - I watch it for him but more for the cute little boy who plays his step son) and Na bole tum since the timing for those two also clashes. So I watch one on T.V. and the other on youtube in the next day. The choice between what I watch on T.V. and what in youtube would depend on the way the tracks are progressing in these shows. Na bole tum is currently poised at an interesting juncture.

DeleteI don't much care for the guy in MB either but he hasn't really been seen too much yet, has he? I just watched the Friday episode, it was okay, but then the show has just started, it will take time to build up. But definitely not as arresting a start as IPKKNd for sure.
I don't like the Behna show these days - the way they deal with the cancer track is :(((( ... uff, I'd better not express my opinion!!! Watch the cancer track in SGP - what a well done track that was, and it wasn't even the main track, plus it was in a comedy feel-good show ... it was so beautifully handled that I cannot watch the usual cliched, 'don't tell anyone' illness track again! I did watch the shaadi scenes, they were fun and well done ... that PH has a lot more money than our IPK chindi one for sure!
Have been following NBT fairly regularly ... that's worth watching.

ReplyDeletehave been reading a FF/OS/SS type stuff on IF - some are horrid (am not even going down the grammar and English usage road!) - some are pretty good - but one thing i find common in all -
ODG is accepted as the naive, 'inexperienced in love' kinds but ODB is always the 'experienced' one - mostly a rake - why??? - don't remember references to ODB being a rake - yes he had La - but he was not sleeping with her - atleast they did not show it so.
Also - i am assuming all these writers are girls, i cant understand how most of them are ok with a hero who has had various partners but the heroine has to be a virgin?? so you younger ones out there - you ok with this thought process? - don't get me wrong - i loved GH novels where the rake reformed for the love of his life - but that was set in times where men took liberties as a right, i thought girls now would be thinking differently

I used to believe that there is a striking difference in the age when boys and girls become sexually aware of each other.
I realised this only after marrriage since when I have been forced to study the male of the species under a microscope. Now I can stand many of the comments that the boys at college used to make. Back then I thought they were just weirdos, now I know they are made like that.
When I see my teenager niece interact with her friends, both boys and girls, I can feel the big gap in the generations.
We girls have caught on,though I am glad I belonged in the age of innocence.

Between caring for Di, studying in 'Haridwar' and building his empire, I don't think he had the time for experiencing girls.

As for ASR, I don't think he was ever shown to be a rake, he did have a relationship with La, which was pretty open, he was ready to live with her in her house, and he brought her to live in, in his home ... if Nani hadn't put her foot down, they would have shared a room, and La was ready for that. So maybe they did have a physical relationship, maybe they didn't ... but that doesn't really make him a rake or promiscuous IMO, and he was true to La in his own way - he broke off with her when he realised he didn't feel for her what he felt for Khushi, or what he would have wanted to feel for a wife.
But if you have love stories about a girl and a guy finding a second chance at love, like e.g Punar Vivah or NBT, then it's pretty obvious that the girl and guy are both experienced ... so it depends on the story - if we're talking about fiction ... and in real life, it depends on the couple concerned and what stage of their lives they are in - first love or second chance. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter to me - especially for real life, it's their own business.
Dia - oh no am only talking of fiction - (that too the FF on IF type of fiction) and not real life - none of my business there :D

I don’t mind watching NBT for the cute girl. She is absolutely adorable and her interaction with the hero is simply superb.
I find the heroine is a good actress too, though her hairstyle puts me off.
And recently I caught a snippet of her slapping the hero when he pours his heart out.
Something was amiss there. I did not expect such a violent reaction.
I really really shouldn’t be commenting on the story.
It is not fair because I don’t watch it regularly.
The point I am trying to make across is:
I am pretty sure you already know this.
If I am not mistaken, they lifted a whole sequence from a Hollywood movie starring Jennifer Aniston.
That was the part where the heroine acts like the ex- wife.
And the same track has already been repeated in Bolllywood with Sush and Sallu.
People may call this inspired, I call it plagiarism.
It is lack of imagination.( I still watch NBT whenever I see the little girl, she is a good actress.)
Of course, everything is in comparison to IPK.
Now IPK may repeat button scenes and duppata scenes, but they are just moments and not an entire sequence, and like we all say Arhi end up owning all those moments.
Yeah, I am coming to my point.
I am pretty relieved that ASR did not bribe his way out getting ‘inspired’ by ‘phas gaya re…’.
I am still angry with Gul for asking for ff, and if they started showing lack of originality too I would have really flipped.
Why do I ask for this perfection from CVs when already they have hit low in all other departments?
I am not sure.
I don’t mind my son flunking an exam because he could not study due to illness or something.
I will not forgive him if he comes out with flying colours after having cheated.

Also NBT seems to have a storyline, despite the very cliched scheming bhabhi and helpless father-in-law - I watch maybe 2-3 episodes a week and find them enough to follow the show.
I saw the winding up of the 'posing to be his wife' track - didn't see how it started.
But yes, I take your point - plagiarism vs trying to be actually different.
Manorama Mami in IPK - actually different and original - claps to the cv team.
ASR - a truly grey hero - again, claps to the cv's - although inspired by many M&B heros, and even more so by GH heroes - ask the Georgette Heyer fans here :)
Khushi - somewhat different - more so at the start, now falling into a mould, but still retaining her 'difference' - so claps to the cv's again. Love the way she's taking the initiative to find her husband - maybe due to script and hero constraints, but I'm loving it!
They managed to make Arnav and Khushi equal and opposite and equally strong - I haven't watched any soap where this was the case before.
BUT ASR had a dimaag - so why is he not using his brain rather than his brawn to try to escape? It wouldn't have been plagiarism according to me, I gave the Phas Gaye Obama as an example, here the context would have been totally different. AND it would have been more along his character sketch. His using his brawn, fighting off ten men at a go is more cliched BW style than Arnav style ...
I wonder why Gul asked for FF's - was it really asking for ideas? Or was it to drive home a point - see, it's not that easy to think up a track ...
