Fri 23/3 - 215 ... KKGSR Catering Inc. - edited

Fri 23rd March

My title sounds much better than KKGSR Dabba service - I think Khushi should change the name of her business. =))

Have absolutely NO clue where they're going with this track :)) ... but I much prefer it to the '100 ways to irritate ASR' and the 'supposed to be comic but aren't' saas bahu sagas ... am always a fierce proponent of working women.

Khushi should have informed Nani before starting off ... good thing she did immediately after. She should also have informed ASR or at least given him a clue that his wife is starting a catering business in his own office, but since his first remark was about his status, and not about her working, am willing to give her leeway on that one. Besides she did give him clues, he just didn't pick them up! ASR acted khadoos as khadoos could be ... perfectly willing to sabotage her fledgeling business because of his peeve ... redeeming quality - that he stopped when Shuklaji informed him he was Khushi's new partner (at least, I hope he does stop the cancellation).
However, it's really no business of Arnav's where his staff choose to eat ... or his brief to decide for them. He provides the canteen premises, staff can decide whether they want to eat there or elsewhere. And which boss actually bothers? Oh, I forgot, it was only because it was Khushi involved ... :))

Liked the way Khushi felt bad for the caterer and found an instant solution to both his problem and her own - has she learned this art of managing people from Arnav? Unlikely! =))

Loved Nani and her attitude - everyone has a right to stand on their own feet and be independent =D> Bravo, Nani!!! Anjali and Manorama are perfectly happy to sponge off Arnav ... well, Anjali is, and so is her husband ... Mamaji and Akash both do work.

And the other big progress - Arnav starts to take some baby steps against Shyam. Thank God his brain has started the return journey from Alaska =))
Blooperrrrrr ... which bank will tell you account balance of an account NOT your own on the phone?!

Mami-Payal fashion track starting ...

Best parts - bhabhiji Annapurna hain, sir! =))
and bhabhiji ... 'That's Ma'am for you, young man." :) Aww, he still doesn't forget she's his wife, does he? Redeemed slightly! :)

*edited*
First a requeim for our shattered dreams ... :(( Khushi didn't do any massage or tel maalish TLC for Arnav's wry neck - so why was it even required? Did Barun actually have a wry neck those 2-3 days?

So episode starts with baffled Arnav entering room (where did the chimes go?) to find businessman ki patni in full flow on phone - since she doesn't have Bluetooth, she makes do with headphones ... I first thought she didn't notice Arnav, but no, she completely ignores him ... this guy's ego is going to get a severe battering here :)) ... as she carries on blithely with her all-important phone conversation ... ends it ... and then fires an artillery of questions at a completely baffled Arnav ... what's that thing in your ear called? Where to get it? How much does it cost?
Arnav's reply ... a very intelligent sounding "Huh???!!!" =))
Gives up on husband as a bad job ... he doesn't know anything ...
'Forget it, I'll manage ... ok, where can I get cards printed?'
More intelligent replies from Arnav, "What cards?"
More smart aleck answers from Khushi, as though to show her HHWS that contrary to his claims, he doesn't have the monopoly on brains ... "wedding cards, sweetie! We really never got a chance to ... business cards, dumbo! What do you think?! Where can I get those made?"
This time no intelligent replies, just a very baffled completely blank stare ... has she totally lost it?!
Khushi gives up on husband completely ... "Forget I said anything ... I'll ask jijaji ..."
Leaving him totally lost ... bluetooth, business cards ... what the * is going on?!

Poor guy ... did he really think that marrying Khushi to get her out of the way of his Jijaji was the ideal solution? And that she would sit like a good subdued, meek timid wifey in one corner till her six months punishment was over? If he's not ready for Bedlam in six months, I will eat my hat!

Next morning - the filler scenes start ... Nani, Anjali, Payal discussing baby ... Payal shows some discomfort at Anjali gushing over Shyam's loving husband qualities ... thank God, I thought she had developed complete amnesia! Mami's oneliner - I can go as KBT, I just need crocodile tears as my costume =))

Arnav bitwa worried about missing Biwi ... what happened, bitwa? Was the morning a bit too peaceful for you today? ;) He's probably worried, and rightly so ... she's missing so early in the morning, what is she up to now? :))
SN - if they wanted fillers without Sanaya, why couldn't they have shown Arnav waking up in the morning and prowling around his room, wondering why the TV was off, why the bathroom was empty, why Lakshmi was missing ... would have loved a scene of Arnav mumbling 'shut up, Khushi' automatically in the morning, and then realising Khushi wasn't there with her early morning incessant bakbak ... Would have been fun to see Arnav already getting used to having Khushi around all the time.
No one knows ... so Khushi did her cooking in the AR canteen apparently, not in the RM kitchen ...

AR employees seem to be all recently imported from Ethiopia :) Scrambling over their lunch boxes as though they haven't eaten for days ...
And baffled look back on Arnav's face as his employees thank him ... 'thank me? What for?'
(SN - Baffled look is getting semi-permanent residence on Arnav's face these days ... keeping up with Lucknow Express and her antics is not easy :)) )
For arranging for his wife to supply them with the home-cooked food they loved yesterday, Arnav bitwa ... they don't know you haven't a clue about it!

Arnav loses his baffled look temporarily, as he switches to something more under his control ... stopping his Reptilewa BIL's allowance .. Shyam needs to look after his wife himself ... you woke up to this now, Arnav? After how many years ... three?! ... Oh well, better late than never.

Employees and erstwhile caterer have a run-in - better, cheaper food is available, they don't want Shuklaji ...
The baffled look is back on Arnav's face .... which means Khushi has to be involved somewhere =))

He doesn't even recognize the caterer ... 'who the hell is this?'
Hilarious scene between Completely Baffled Arnav (CBA for future reference, as it seems this look is here to stay for a while =)) ) and crying caterer ... 'How could you do this without even telling me?'
CBA - 'who the hell are you and what is your %#*& problem?'
CC - 'no one wants my food, everyone's got a new lunch service ...' :(( :((
CBA - 'so what did I do in all this?' ...
(SN - Implicit in this question is the statement - It's none of my business who gets their food from where ... I have nothing to do with it.)
CC -  'you got married, Sir' :(( :((
CBA - 'I got married? ... So what problem do you have with that?' (I thought I was the one with all the problems =)) )
CC - boo hoo hoo :(( :(( :((  ... leaving the room like weeping SP bahu ...
CBA - 'what is everybody's problem???'

Shyam in the meantime busy arranging his next expensive purchase ... (actually first time they have shown him doing this, this should have been brought in much earlier, when all the Shyam torturing Babuji drama was going on) ... and he finds to his fury that Saale Sahab has stopped his allowance ... It's gone instead to his wifey's solo account, where he cannot access it.
Blooper - which bank would give account details over the phone?!
But Shyam is very angry and frustrated ... good, good ... you thought you had fooled ASR?
Err, RRR ... injustice? Did you sign up to be ghar jamai for ever, is that why you're so frustrated? Or did ASR do this automatically when you got married? How could he be so foolish? Or did you sweet talk  him - or Anjali - into doing this?
So one good thing of Khushi coming into Shyam's (and Arnav's) life ... the R's will get rid of a free wheeling SIL ... and not before time!

Khushi comes huffing and puffing to deliver Arnav's lunch ... and wonder of wonders, his brain is still working, putting together the pieces finally ... new lunch service, thanks from his employees, CC ...
LBA - (Less Baffled Arnav) - 'So you've done this?'
BBK - (Baffled Busybee Khushi - her turn now) - huh? what did I do now?
Trying desperately to keep calm Arnav - Sit down
When she didn't obey instantly, losing his calm a bit ... Baitho!!!
Tired Khushi (this catering stuff is tiring ... but not so tiring that she can't talk) ... 'ok,  so much ... I need the break, you know ... been on the go since the morning ... woke up, shopped, cooked, packed, served ... so much work ... so much still left ... oh dearie me ... how do I manage?'
GTA (Gritted Teeth Arnav) - 'What the hell are you doing?'
Lost in her own business world Khushi - completely ignoring Arnav ... 'need to order supplies for tomorrow, today's are finished, carrots weren't good ... that vendor toh ...'
GTA (rapidly losing whatever little control he had left) - 'What the hell are you doing, Khushi?!'
Khushi - very brightly and chirpily  - 'doing? Don't you know? (Darling he'd know if you had told him, right?) I'm doing business ... dabba business.'   ... I thought you'd got the gist yesterday when I said businessman ki patni ...

GTA - what's the need for you to do any business? Didn't you ... (pause) ... think about my image?

What was the pause about? Was he upset about her doing business. Or about her not asking him first? Or about her not asking him for money if she needed it?

She's too lost in her own thoughts ... the name, the cards ...
He has to get up and lean over her physically to get her attention ... 'Listen to me. There will be no dabba service in my office ...'
(Not by you, is what he meant ... he had no objection earlier when he saw the dabbas, or when he spoke to the caterer.)
She still doesn't hear him ... the new name will be ...
Finally it strikes him ... why people usually go into business ... and he's slightly shame-faced, he's never given her needs a thought before this ... 'look, if you need money ...'
Vaah, Arnav bitwa, you give regular allowance to your lawyer BIL, and don't think about an allowance for your own wife?

No, she doesn't, thank you very much ... 'because you keep account of every penny, so I'll earn my own ... and I can ...'
'No one is interested in your dabbas ... not me, not anyone else ...'
She exposes his lie straightaway ... 'yeah right, you weren't the one licking your fingers yesterday, were you? And by the way, you can eat the sweet today.'
'Khushi ...'
She jams bluetooth into her ear purposefully, glares at him and leaves. Shades of ASR here.
Thought he kept his cool very admirably there ... but Khushi was too lost in her business world to listen ... Was he actually starting to feel a little guilty there that he hadn't given her needs a thought before this? Why she even needed to do this? Why she hadn't felt it necessary to ask him, tell him, talk to him - did that hurt?

Khushi's new champion, CLJ informs CC that Khushi bhabhi's food is better and cheaper than his ... but she feels bad about the caterer's complaints ... for the first time realizing she did wrong by him ...

Back home ... R ladies busy keeping themselves busy in needlework and fashion shows ... Khushi comes rushing in, all full of beans about her new venture ... and belatedly asks Nani's permission ...
Anjali asks what her business is all about, how can she manage? Khushi tells her what she did ... yes, she can manage.
Anjali - but why do you even need to work?
Yes, right, why can't you live off your husband and my brother ... we all do it, including my husband. (Just struck me, does Anjali know Arnav supports Shyam? Will give her slight benefit of doubt till I get an answer to that one.)
And LOVED Nani here ... yes, she does ... look at how happy it has made her. How she's enjoying herself.
Mami says - what will society say?
Nani says, she never bothered about society when she got Mami as DIL, she's not going to bother now. And if Khushi wants to work to keep herself busy, or to earn her own money, she should be free to do it. Everyone has the right to stand on their own feet.
Bravo, Nani! And bravo, cv's. A message worth giving.
And Khushi shares the news of her partner.

Arnav asks his employees why this food ... answer - bhabhiji cooks excellent food ...
'Ma'am.'
That's ma'am to you, young man ... I'm Sir, she's my wife.
Ok, he just redeemed himself a few miles there ...
And lost them again ... you will cancel all the orders you have given her. And don't argue ... nobody questions me.
I am the dictator here.
Again questioned ... by Khushi's new partner ... CC Shuklaji himself :) Bhabhiji is saakshat Annapurna.
CBA is back ... now what does he do?

Thoughts:
In a nutshell - I have no problem with Khushi's working, quite the reverse. Have been wanting for a long time that Khushi should think about working again - she has so many reasons to do so - she has always been working, she has been running the G's house for ages, and she knows her marriage is temporary. But I didn't like the way the cv's showed it, the way she went about it. If she had to start working in a hurry, show her thinking about the reasons she needs to work - and let them not be about returning Rs 300 but about the bigger picture, her bigger problems in life.

She should have asked Nani before she started. She should have told Arnav - because it's his office and he's her husband. Again my objection as with the water fight - let them keep their battles private. And a bone to pick with Arnav too - where he lost the moral high ground he had maintained till now by keeping his patience in the office with Khushi - he lost it by ordering his employees to cancel their orders.

No logic in how and where she got the money.

Cv's seem to have lost their way this week. First the 100 ways to irritate Arnav track, dropped halfway (thank God), only to be replaced by the start up business track, with neither Arnav or Khushi bothered about Shyam. Thank God with Sanaya going on leave, Arnav has started thinking about Shyam finally.
I think cv's got very lazy this week ... and a bit too complacent about Barun's popularity ... forgetting that it's the character ASR/Arnav which is popular, not just the hot guy. And dumbing down Khushi from her chulbuli, yet mature always caring self into a dumb ten year old does not work either ... Khushi's character is the backbone of the show, you cannot tamper with it to this extent.

  1. LMAO..what an episode!!! :D love how they are dealing with the fiercely independent attitude that K always was shown to have.. :)) although I STILL don't get why they are doing it... well, if I am to assume that it is because Sanaya needs to go for a vacation then it makes me much more happy with the track! :P

for all the girls who wanted khadus ASR back..u got him today! :P and LOTS more from the precap.. he is clearly extremely upset and angry at K for starting this new 'business'..and can understand why ... imagine a business tycoon's wife starting a dabbawala service and that too in partnership with his own offce's canteen owner?? :P surely not rubbing the good way on him... :P can't wait to see what happens on monday!

must add - LOVED nani in today's episode and how she shuts manorama by saying that they didn't care about the society when they got her as a daughter in law in the family, then why should they care about the society now? And if K wants to start a business and keep herself engaged and happy then there's nothing wrong in it...

have to say.. SP has come a long long way from its ekta kapoor sagas.. :) here is definitely something new to be shown! I was half expecting nani et al to be unhappy and angry at K's decision, but I was pleasantly surprised.. :)

oh and yes.. A v/s shyam has finally begun..and soo the story moves ahead!! :))

all in all, I would rate the epi as 3/5.. loses out on 2 stars from me because they still don't show K doing something about shyam... :P but oh well, atleast its better than her hanging stars in the bedroom, turning off the shower and giving sallu a flying kiss.. :P

    1. Hey Mads..
just caught parts of the epi online....wl air here much later...
Liked nani's approach but propriety meant that it shld have been discussed before with family or atleast A for sure but who am i kidding...if that was done, we wldn't have the drama, right?
Naturally there would be brouhaha from all quarters, the very least from her hubby for sure..Its not nice that K puts him in a position where he has to know who is his wife's partner from other sources?
K is behaving along expected lines...that of taking liberties with A, which she usually does..
The only question as u said....what is all this leading to....if it not leading to anything dramatic, it is all pointless because they have so many unresolved issues in their situation..that it is surprising for K to focus on the Rs 300 issue..If its about independence...then atleast let A have a mentos moment about how different Shyam and Khushi are in their approach to money matters....chalo, it may not lead to anything...and lovers can have different values abt money but dimaag ka thawing toh shura hone do!!
If Cvs are using this as a filler leading to nothing, let me be presumptuous and advise them to look at some scenarios that R&R members have to offer..(scenes with specs loaded)

    2. @ Rekha... if u ask me then all this business thingy has absolutely NOTHING to do with the track and is just meant for :

      1. Sanaya taking off for a holiday and they will show her in b/w with ofcourse some body doubles..with her doing business they won't need to show her much, do they?

      2. they are still thinking of a good plot how this could go ahead, which is why they are keeping some parts unresolved while focussing on shyam v/s A matter

so I would say wait until the next week when sanaya is back and only then do we get some answers to the plot..

I am now wondering ki dekhoon ya nahiin....keeping the faith is getting difficult..where are they going with this

and WT why no moch nikaalna scene - i even gave them a recall and recycle excuse - damn!!

if this track is a filler sach main i am gonna be cross. As for that prediction on kkgsr BBM to make pocket money for creep - ha ha ha!! i was telling Gargi about that yday also ki this possibility exists (when i saw spoiler for asr stopping funds) but given that CVs think in a tnagent from me - i just dunno. She starts a business and then goes on chutti..achcha!! interesting!

      Dia,
I like your name better - more kilaas ;)

oh and btw created a account in the hopes it will stop asking me to prove i am a robot but it does no such thing :(

asr stopping snakewa's fund flow was the only progress worthy moment in the epi - wot i expect is that as shyam said, he'll not let this go easily and in his revenge, let something slip to arnav..something that trigger arnav's to start believing in khushi's innocence!

    WOW!

ended on ROFL for that look on ASR's face when the shukla guy says - 'bhabhiji toh saakshaat annapurna hai!' EPICC!!!

one take away from this epi - thank god, these CVs are not doing an office track - i'd killed myself laughing - they dunno ANYTHING abt corporate life, zilch, nada, nothing!!!!

  5. Ladies,

Who is funding the venture? Where did she get her start-up capital? Pls tell me she has not pawned those gold bangles.

U know when bolegaindia posted thi mid-week, I was hoping for something different from what we are actually seeing

    1. Sandy and all,
Do not ask logical questions ...
Do not ask logical questions ...
Do not ask logical questions ...

She took orders the previous day - did she take advance then? If not, who did she take the advance from? She operated as a private single seller - did she take a loan? So quickly? From where?

The rest was okay - she was pretty nifty in her start up venture - already got her orders so cooked only as much as she had guaranteed sales for, and had already got her committed customers.
I liked the touch of involving Shuklaji ... feeling bad that she had done him out of his livelihood and engaging him as partner - neatly done, won over the only opposition and got it on her own side instead - smart girl! Good busniesswoman, I must say - now I do hope that since she has Naniji's approval as well, she continues with this and doesn't give it up. When time comes to give it up, Shuklaji hain na!

Should she have informed ASR? Not from the point of view of business - my husband or I carry lunch to work, our bosses have no idea ... and no interest ... where and how and what we eat! In fact I found his attitude about who his employees should order food from quite dictatorial - only forgiven because it was all about Khushi, he wouldn't have given a rat's ass otherwise! :))

But as boss, embarrassing for the guy to not know his own wife is catering in hos office - from that pov, a small note that 'oh by the way, I'll be getting your lunch for you today, as I'm getting it for twenty other people as well - you liked yesterday's food, didn't you?' would have been enough ... and would have got him fuming QUITE as much as he did!

Arnav has started dealing with Shyam ... I guess Khushi will deal only after she falls in love with Arnav ... so after Sanaya gets back from holiday.
A 4 day holiday and we're acting as though she's off on maternity leave or something! :D

    2. not only funding it but she also has a genie (Shwetha, are you two timing us?) up her sleeve - she can buy stuff for dozens of people, cook it (and no one in the house even knows that she cooked!!!!) and deliver it before ODB gets to office!!! - ok i can grant some creative license (specially for the RV where ODG is falling/triping/slipping and ODB catches her from angle that defy the laws of physics!)but please retain some continuity..

I read on IF that more important tracks are being kept for the next month due to the TRP clash with IPL due to begin next month...

      Delete
    7. @Jaya..infact quite the opposite yaar! u see, the CVs are smart.. they want people to forget IPL and watch their show ... which is why they are going to keep the good stuff during that time so that people retain their interest to watch the show! :P otherwise the TRPs will drop down massively during that time.. ofcourse they are anyway going to, since the shows are probably no match for IPL.. quite literally.. :P, but they can help to retain them in their own way atleast! :)

    8. @mads, my tv, for one, will play IPL during IPL time.. no two ways about it.. if I want to see IPK, it will have to be online.

  6. - agree - don't know where the CVs are going with this - seeems like a filler so that ODG can take a break -

    my take on the epi:

Dia it is very seldom that i disagree with you - i felt ODG was not in the right today (not wrong but did not do the thing right) -
    - you start a business and don't talk about it to your husband? that too a business in his office???? did she give hints?? cant say they were hints - they were half sentences where she said she will ask her jijaji (who also is not aware of this otherwise he would have asked if ODB knows) - so i think she was totally at fault about starting something on his turf without permission/information
    - And in defense of ODB - he has totally calmed down - he did not throw her out - asked her to have a seat - tried talking to her but ODG is not easy to talk to once she gets going, is she??
(agreed he should not have cancelled the order - that was petty but again his canteen guy had complained and he had to look into that as well)
    - ODB cant have ODG treated as any 'bhabiji' - its "Ma'am" to the mere commoners - aawwww
    - finally i say she was not wrong because it is perfect that she is trying to work, earn a living, is independent and best of all - away from SP type serial buildups - but in a way she is as arrogant as ODB - she did not stop to ask/take permissions either - did what she though was right just like her Khadooos miyan! - perfect couple :D
ps. the CVs should stay away from office scenes - they obviously know zilch about the corporate/business world!!
SN - was Aman one of the guys fighting for their dabbas?

    1. No No No Aman cannot be anyone that any mere mortal has ever seen before....

See, this part about not informing and starting a business is an aspect that i want to put as Creative licence becos unfortunately the drama can't start otherwise...Don't ask why this drama...for I am still searching for an answer

Agree wth Mona that in normal circumstances, spouses don't start ventures in such a manner; here we are dealing with Lucknow express...a person prone to action before any deep thought n consequences...
ASR being peeved understandable but his actions to staff not fathomable.....Rightly put, the tellyland folks know so little about the corporate world...
Only scene i liked in today's epi..."meri shaadi se apko kya problem hain", ASR in other words saying...YAAR mujhe problem hain, lekin apko bhi? Khushi what are u upto?

@diya..another suggestion.. whenever u edit ur post, also make a kind of final rating (rem how we used to have in our CC?) regarding the epi in general, what were the dialogues that stood out for u..and who was the "character of the day" according to u.. and then the rest of us will also join in.. what say? 6. Mads, I normally do a detailed episode synopsis, and then add my thoughts on the episode as a whole ... everyone can just add anything and everything you all want to. If there is a really good dialogue I will add it - I usually do mention anything I find exceptional :)

  7. well no offence to anyone ...... I hear this alot in forum and sometimes here too ..... Why are AK's actions dissected as what a husband should do or what a wife should have done???

Isn't that's what they are not and they know it very well ..... They just shove it at eachothers face when they have to get out of a situation or needs to get an upper hand as to say ??!!!

And if its about acting as a married couple ..... Khushi is keeping her bargain very well .... Covering up for ASR infront of his family ..... Why should she give a rats ass to what other people may think???? aSR never asked her too !! She is doing things her way without hurting anyone .... if that bothers ASR .... As he says so often "wo meri problem nahi hai" and our bitiya is a quick learner ...... The only thing she cannot overcome is bitwa s hot intense eyes and the heart break that follows.

    1. Sama,

I hear you. But it is a love story na and after last week's Holi episode, just wondering ki yeh hum aa gaye hain kahaan ;)

    2. @Sama,
true they are not the deal couple but a damned romantic one (star crossed version) and the reason why we (or at least I ) dissect their actions of that of husband and wife coz that's where i wish them end up - a happy, very much in love couple! :D
Agreed both should not care about the society at large but my point was that they should have cared for what each other thinks/feels

      Delete
    3. @Mona.. arey if it was sooo simple as to care for what the other thinks/feels, this story soon after he tried to kiss her during that diwali epi.. :P that was one of the most beautiful moments when BOTH were aware of each other's feelings and both knew that the other felt something for them ... and that they too feel something.. they just had to talk it out and then they would be a happily-together ever after couple.. :P :)

      Delete
    4. sorry, I meant that *this story would have ended soon after...

      Delete
  8. hmm..well, I have the advice just like diya... please do not ask logical questions...these shows are something to be looked at without logic.. especially the stuff that goes on apart from the main theme of the story.. for example, the main theme here is "is pyaar ko kya naam doon?" a love story b/w two starkly opposite people and how they deal with it..the situations that they create in order to take the story forward OR even otherwise, like for example this business thingy...or the mami-payal fashion competition thingy..or some other instances that may have been there in the past, may not be full of logic at times.. and I guess we have to accept that..as long as the story ITSELF goes in a logical fashion...

for me, the ArHi love story has been proceeding in a completely logical and a beautiful way...also the way they are dealing with the equations of everybody including Payash-anjali-shyam-ArHi.. so it hardly bothers me that the other scenarios/situations are not completely logical..

as far as the business thing shown today is concerned, I totally agree with Sama.. their relation of husband-wife is for the family members...so if the main issue that people have with K is because she didn't inform her hubby then its not valid IMO because they are husband-wife only for the world..sure deep down they both acknowledge that too, but then...which century are we living in? I don't think there is a need to seek permission from ur husband about something...inform him, sure...but there wouldn't have been any point informing A because he would have surely discouraged her.. and basically, the issue A has with all this is def not the fact that K has begun work w/o his permission etc..A knows that he cannot stop K from doing something once she has decided it... he is just worried about what it would do to his image as a boss, which I think is a very valid concern knowing him... she can take as many liberties as she want with him when at home.. but at his company and as a boss he should be the one having the last word ... and that's why he thinks its absolutely ridiculous that his own wife is catering in his office with his canteenwaala as a partner..I think as a businessman that's the only thing that irritated him...

I mean, he LIVES and BREATHES his business...anything hampering it even closely and he would lose it...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. having said all that, I would also like to add that he is most irritating, tynarical, erratic and khadoos boss!!! :X especially the way he goes to the canteen waala "who the hell are you??" and ok I admit I giggled a bit there, because Barun's expressions were really priceless and spot on.. :P and also because this showed just HOW indifferent and oblivious he was to the world around him to not know the person that served him tea/coffee everyday.. but he was too mean!! Some courtesy was expected...but then if he were courteous he wouldn't be ASR, would he? :)

anyway, I would have never loved to work in such an atmosphere where everytime u hear ur boss coming u begin to fear whether this is ur last day of work.. nope, not happening at all for me! a HUGE thumbs down to this trait of his... but a huge thumbs up to the fact that this is another of those ASR qualities/traits that K is going to change with time..and I hope they show this too.. :))

:):) And you are telling us ki logic mat dhoondho :):)

      Delete
    3. that's precisely my point - if ASR lives and breathes his business - it is not fair to judge him harshly for reacting as he did - why would he not when ODG starts trampling on his turf? - not that i have any problems with her doing so - all i am saying that just as we expect her to do this - ODB should also be allowed to react as he did!

      Delete
    4. @Mona..totally agree with you too! :)) I am one of the few people here who is completely satisfied with both A as well as K's actions..both are right in their own places IMO.. now just waiting until monday to see what this is going to lead to.. :)

@Sandy..yaar if u start finding logic u would end up pulling ur hair, seriously.. :P and now things are much much better.. just hope and keep ur fingers crossed that things dont start looking bad for this show..like for example TRP falling etc .. and then they would have to search for "innovative" techniques to raise the TRPs and those techniques are like beyond pathetic! :P been there, done that for me with the previous shows that I have watched.. :P

      Delete
    5. Mads,

I know what u mean about the logic. I am yet to see the epi. Like I told Dia above all I care for is that she did not pwan her kangans. bas..isliye poocha paise kahaan se aaye.

Yup lets see where they are going with this.

      Delete
    6. haha..@ Sandy..yup, I hope they don't feel the need to ruin her character enough to make her pawn her kangans! :P keep ur fingers crossed.. :))

      Delete
    7. Mads,

She already pawned her kangan in the past (when she worked for AR) to buy plants and gift Arnav - and show the gift to be from La so she could make Arnav reconcile with La and bring La back to RM.

And when ASR did just that, Khushi's heart broke just a little and she wondered about it and he wondered why she was crying when he did exactly what he had wanted. She had told him off for bein gheartless and finally succumbed to tears which unraveled him to go bring La back and then he went huh! now why is Khushi still upset and crying

      Delete
    8. @Sandy...I think I missed the part where she pawned her kangans then.. I was actually catching up with just the ArHi scenes.. so don't know much about what went before or after that.. would watch it though.. :))

      Delete
    9. Mads and Sandy, she pawned her own bangles then, she can't use Arnav's mom's kangans ... that would be unforgiveable of her. Again, though, she has not been told of their sentimental value, but if she can't take 300 rupees from him, how can she use money by pawning jewelry given by him?

I still cannot figure out where she got the advance - even after re-watch. She is getting paid by individual staff members, not by a contractor.
Ah well ... logic, logic .. this has to be one of the worst thought out tracks of the show!

  9. ODB has started on another of her express plans!! remember guys, she never does anything after consulting elders.. she dint ask anyone before running with the papers on payals first wedding day.. just told p.. she dint ask anyone before going to the newspaper office to ask about the videos.. she never asked permission before asking shyam for help finding a job.. she never asked anyone before signing a one lakh contract with ASR..

I think Lucknow express is like that.

things I loved about the episode..
    1. i loved that ASR became loving bitwa in his office cabin.. did not scream 'off with her head', he wanted to ask her personally. he asked her twenty times.. if at all ODG had one brain cell spare to look at him when he talked to her, she could have seen it herself. but all her brain is busy.. naming the company, printing business cards, tomorrow's shopping.. I don't think she even realized that he was halfway decent to her.

    loved that scene.

and the way she was talking to him, as if he was her listening post.. so adorable!

    2. yes, loved nani's acceptance of her and the speech following. for starplus or not, i like that she likes it.

    3. awww so cute how he corrected them ... "ma'm"
in the middle of a shouting session..

    4. loved that he cut off the gharjamai's allowance.. now he has to find other ways of pocket money.. and no, he wont think ODB is working to make money for snakewa..

    1. Jaya, me too felt that ASR was exceptionally patient in that scene ... he kept asking her what she was up to, bitiya was just lost in her business world ... Bitwa don't like being ignored. I felt he came off much better in that encounter - she came across totally lost and insensitive to his feelings :(

though he lost the miles gained by ordering his employees to cancel their orders :)) And that too, just after he said that 'Ma'am.'

I wish they had done this whole career thing better - like we discussed earlier, Khushi getting worried not just about Rs 300 but about what she's going to do after her six months are over.

Wonder what he will do on Monday - he's obviously hopping mad ... but will it translate into something about the difference between her and Shyam? That she has to return even 300 rupees, while Shyam happily sponges off him forever? Or will it backfire and he misunderstand the reason for her need for money? With Arna's brains the way they are, can't help expect the worst.

Loved Nani's acceptance ... that is what 'nayi soch' is about ... just wish the whole track had been better.

    2. Dia, somewhere later I felt that he needed to be more forceful with her. him being ASR, he should have shouted his point into her ear.. as he usually did. he should have been the one to tell her that she was cutting the canteenwala's business..

  10. HAA ...... Love story abhi bhi hai ..... a is disgusted by her but realised thats not enough to hate her ..... Actually nothing is ..... He admitted his love for her to her .... Small relief for him she does not remember .... So he can take it as stay six months and get lost I will deal with my feelings as it come.

K is disgusted by this man for how he has hurted her in the most demeaning way ....she tried her best to know about it but he dint give in .....she is not the kind who lives with sorrow, so she is doing everything she can to keep her away from it ..... Live these six months anyhow or if her luck favours before that and leave ..... As for her feelings for the man himself ......at the moment there is no love in her for him ....not at all .... Yes she feels the attraction when she gets physical with him thats it and it has always been that way for her ..... She never progressed as far as she remembers ...... She doesnot remember the confession.

Story is moving ahead ..... By the all these stupid illogical filler absurd nonsensical episodes gets over ..... Arnav will get to know Khushi like he has never before, bits by bits ..... He is yet to understand the fact that she cares about happiness of everyone she thinks her own ....the way he only does for his sister (as for now or was just a girl who can take him as he is and can give him as good as he does)Thats when he will love her truely .......and if his luck favour (ofcourse it will)she will reciprocate it.

About the fact that she is giving priority to the far more important things in life ...... It has always been take and I can truely relate to Khushis actions these days ....... Do things that doesnot matter keep yourself busy take yourself from think that matter ...... These points apply to facts which are painful, hard to digest and hurts you so much that feel it will never let you smile ever again ..... Cause I cannot tolerate sorrow, so cut that string off. If answer to my sorrows really matters it will come my way .... And it does, it takes its own sweet time but it does. So laugh it out .....who gives a damn to what others think untill your not hurting anyone in the process.

Sorry for the bak bak ....if anyone is annoyed.

    1. @Sama...wow that was beautifully put!! :))

I would also like to add something about A's feelings for her..

A is someone that doesn't believe in love..nor the cheesy ways of showing it..he thinks it doesn't exist, just like God.. he believes he can own each and everything in the world with money and power and has grown up to believe and acknowledge (from his past incidences that we are yet to know) that the world is nothing but a bitch (sorry for using this word, but couldnt explain this in a nicer way) who has given him no joy until now..and so why should he smile back at the world? He will live life exactly the way he wants, he will write his own destiny..and in that process not care about what good/bad it does to the world..and it works for him all these years so he has nothing to regret or think or ponder about his actions/beliefs ...

      UNTIL...

he comes across a person who challenges each and EVERY belief of his : saying that God does exist, that the world is soo beautiful.. that he must be stupid to not smile and laugh at small incidences in life...that there is no better joy than enjoying ur life and bringing happiness to those u love..that everything is NOT purchasable, especially people and their dignities.. that he is not the writer of his destiny, but infact a mere puppet... and so the mere sight of her disgusts him! He has not even begun to notice then that she is a girl or that he is attracted towards her..she is just a person who has been challenging all of these beliefs and that's why he wants to get rid of her..wants her out of his sight..but as much as he tries, he just comes across her every now and then and there is nothing he can do about it...this girl has a power he has given NOBODY uptil now..only his sister had the liberties and that too, when he allowed it.. but this girl could get him out of control and make himself lose to his emotions like nobody could have ever made him..and that's why he hates her..but he also loves her ... but him being him, he has no idea how to pursue this.. he does it in his own style..challenging her every now and then..because he knows she is strong enough to take his challenges and because that's the only way he knows how to interact with people..and because that's his way of making sure she is a perfect match for him..because he only understands what he sees with his eyes..rather than what he feels..and finally when he is past through convincing himself that he does indeed love her and that he cannot live without her...is when he goes ahead and proposes her..in his own way.. only to be devastated to know that she has been having an extra marital affair with his sister's husband.. it pains him beyond belief and he hastes her because she has the power to hurt him so much.. so he ends up marrying her as that is the only way acc to him to punish her..to crash her dreams..to make her weak..

but alas! everytime he causes her pain, he is in pain himself.. that's why neither can he hate her...nor can he love her.. :)

I can go on and on about Arnav, but I'd better stop now.. :P have spoken enough ... :P sorry for spamming ur blog diya.. but u know this tendency of mine to just go on and on once I have started.. :P that's why I wanted to just comment on the old posts about the old epis..but can't find them.. :P

    2. hey mads, that was not spam... that was sheer poetry! an ode to ASR.. see how the show has perfectly portrayed him up until his wedding? this is exactly my perception of ASR.. and this is why we follow this show.. '

but now, after the publicity and awards and all, the CVs want to keep the audience happy.. by deviating from the original story.. this has caused much heartache among the audience, because we want ASR, not barun. and that boy might be hot, but it's the persona that makes a million girls fall for him.

thankfully, the CVs seem to have realizedd this.. after seeing today's episode, my hopes have resurfaced.

    4. Sama and mads, loved your takes. Sama, I do agree with you about Khushi trying to fill up her life with all the unimportant things ... she has been TRYING her level best to get answers from Arnav, she obviously isn't going to question Snakewa, and she hasn't succeeded, despite fighting, cajoling, threatening, blackmailing ... so what is she to do? Get on with life as best as she can ...

In the track where she discovers Shyam's truth, the same thing happened, she got hints every now and then, kept ignoring them then slowly putting them together slowly, slowly ... the same thing is starting now ... I only wish they would show her thinking about Shyam more than just once a week, for the track to be credible.

And I also hope this is to show Arnav the real girl .. till now, he doesn't know her, although he supposedly loves her ... so by all this nonsensical stuff, hopefully he gets to understand the real her, the one for whom relationships and family come first - though if he hasn't figured that out by now, he's a moron ...

I agree with Jaya, though, the cv's seem to have lost their way this week ... getting overwhelmed by the hoohaa over the awards? The whole Barun Sobti is so wonderful/ popular/ amazing uproar? Like I said in the Sanaya interview thread - it's the character ASR/Arnav which has been the hero, not the actor ... they need to understand that very quickly and go back to the characters we loved ... including NOT dumbing down Khushi just to make Arnav seem even more wonderful. In all the uproar over Barun, everyone seems to have forgotten that Khushi is the soul of the show. And I'm not saying this as a Sanaya fan, I'm stating facts - if you watch any episode, Khushi has the lion's share of screen space, because Khushi has the most well-defined relationships with each and every member of both families. By changing her, you risk ruining the show.

Am I glad that the page is back ;) For a while on Sat, I was like WT??

I was out the entire weekend with some sudden stuff that came up. Will get back to the epi later tonight and share my take today or after tomorrow's.

Reading stuff on IF initially made me go WT but then when I saw the epi, I saw a few things which told me I am ok to keep the faith. But the execution of the means could have been better or different to get the same message across.

They have a wonderful unit with stong acting all around. They need to use it better ya! And Abhaas deseves a kick if he twitches anymore..I mean think "Saara shaher mujhe Lion ke naam se jaanta hai", Think "are o samba kitne aadmi the"...dude this is ur track, u r THE VILLAIN and u can only do this - pathetic...

    5. I very much agree Sandy...Abhaas has to step up the game...

Someone commented that among the many many flaws of agent vinod was the fact that the bad guy wasn't 'bad enough' and ergo the good guy couldn't really be good.

The story only works if you really loathe the villain while grudgingly respect his plan.

because if the plan isn't smart and covers all the bases the leads come off looking stupid enough to believe an immature and ill-thought out plan.

    6. Gargs,

Agree. You rooted fro Mr. India because Mogambo was bad. You rooted for Batman because the Joker was diabolical. And yes, the villain needs to be suave and smart which Shyam was at the start. Am ok with them showing that his act is slipping because of the pressure he has cone under but it's not working. I mean there has to be a difference between tricking the Guptas and tricking ASR. And yeah therefore seeing Arnav and Khushi fall for the latest villain is just not palatable.

p.s: Shaayari - I wanted to write something but was not ready for an epi take. So dabbled in some rhyming and a song dedication :))

  14. Quoting the relevant part of the HT article

"While Hindi TV serials are usually predictable, sometimes they can spring surprises, or rather, shocks. Just last week, I had blithely stated that Star Plus's Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon was one of the channel's most watchable shows. But starting this Monday, the serial, which is an intense love story, has suddenly turned into a comedy show. (I'm still recovering).

The real USP of Iss Pyaar… was that it dared to have a leading man who was not your regular hero. Instead, we got an unapologetically dark anti-hero, more ruthless heartbreaker than charming lover. (And actor Barun Sobti managed the difficult feat of making the character sexy, sympathetic yet hateful, all at the same time). But tragically, he seems to have now been transformed into a typical TV lead — rather bland and ineffectual. (Even the heroine — goofy but generally warm and likeable — has turned into a bit of an annoying brat).

So frankly, I'm a bit flummoxed. Can TV shows undergo life-transforming metamorphoses and become something completely different to what they set out to be/were/are? If a love story can turn into a comedy, a suspense story can (theoretically) turn into a family saga."

This journo is the one who did last week's article on Holi in different shows.
(The rest of the article is about other shows.)

  15. Dia,

Just read the article that u just posted above..

I am quite sure(altho i can't it with any authority)...stupid and inane things are show in other shows as well but our expectations with this show may have caused us to fret so much....

Having said that IPK has, frankly, erred, in not taking the logical route after the terrace scene...okay....if not then...after the marriage...okay if not then....after the Holi sequence atleast one of the leads should have taken the questioning route rather than sweep everything under the carpet. Also, K prancing about annoying A has not helped matters....especially it is so evident she has more important matters to worry about in life...chief among them a vily villian

The sad part has been that apart from the leads even the other characters have shown no such inkling....Leads me to ask the next question.....Is there a worry in putting out the inevitable ( unravelling)...there is no more to the story? I would be pained for as a viewer, i have invested a lot of emotion on this fictional series....i still believe it is different from the run-of-the-mill love stories...for a lot of reasons....i hope it delivers on the promise it has largely until now

    1. Jaya and Rekha,

Arshad Khan has been associated with the show since the beginning, it has always been both him and Lalit Mohan. I really don't know what the issue is - is there suddenly more interference by the channel after the SPA? Has SP suddenly woken up to this golden goose and started taking more of an interest - it does say something for the show when people from other shows root for the leads - other people were rooting for both Arnav and Khushi for their different nominations ...

And the international viewership is HUGE - can you imagine Rabba Ve trending on Twitter international?! Apart from the International Jodi, of course.

So logically speaking, the PH should be putting their best people in the show, as well as more money ... if the TRP's dip this week again, it should be a wake up call for the cv's. But I don't know whether this week's TRP's reflect Holi week or the week after - Holi week should have shown a rise.

I think they have to get a move on clearing the MU - it's dragging too painfully now, and the thing is, the romance is not progressing either. And they DO have lots of ways to progress - Shyam getting exposed, getting kicked out, Anjali's reaction, Khushi's reaction to the deception, Shyam's further steps - am sure he's not going to disappear as a villain, he'll start the attack from the outside ... then they can focus on the history ... so many tracks ... after that they can even turn it into a family revenge type story, if they bring Arnav's dad back from the dead. Theoretically they have lots of strings to play with and keep the show going for at least the next two years or more.

Maybe our expectations have risen ... we expect more from IPK than the usual 'nothing ever happens' sagas. Maryada slowed, I stopped watching, now apparently it's back on track, I'll start re-watching - after almost a month. I don't do that with IPK.

  19. Mona, I think we're all lost in SPA fever ...

I'm as crazy as you, btw ... the last few movies I have been to, I've done exactly the same thing ... started dreaming about ArHi in all the boring moments! And if you watch some of the earlier episodes, of the vm's, the fever comes back in full swing!

After watching them at SPA, I've recovered some of my optimism for the show - they are both so simply AWESOME together! The cv's can't let this chemistry go to waste - they just can't.

  20. PART 1...

I just read friday's bits and I know I'm super late-I just had a super busy horrid weekend:-( but I still have to comment on one thing...

    HONEYMOON!!

    Reaction: OMG! yes please...finally!
Sandy: Already started thinking of scenes...!!Eeee!!

    less than 2 comments down....
    HONEYMOON CANCELLED!!
Reaction: borrowing all of Shwths WT's...WT WT WT! WHY???
Sandy: can I still post scenes written? or totally out of context now:-(

Oh also The hot pink suit Khushi was wearing on thursday...

Why can't they buy designer pieces for Khushi? There's this one designer and her suits aren't very expensive and she loves gota just as much as Khushi...a few of my suits (mum picked!) are from her and she always uses bright purples, hot pink, reds, gold...brocade, gota, even chikankari sometimes...CV's if you're reading this reference name 'AADHYA'...

Also for Arnav more than clothes this time...I was thinking his hair and stubble...they need to be like they were in the teri meri sequence...After I saw Jaya's VM I saw the teri meri video again-I love the way show flashbacks in that video and Arnav looks really good in the dance. Perfect length hair. Perfect slight stubble and no excessive make up making him skin look oily.

-I'm sorry guys...I know! I know!...but I cant help myself...Honestly its almost becoming a life ambition to take Arnav Shopping now:-(...feel like adding it to my 'to do list'

  21. PART 2....

    Friday's episode:

    Loved you peoples points above:-D

    Just wanted to add;
    1. What I liked most in the episode was Nani's reaction...initially felt like she was going to say -'you should have asked us first...' but as soon as Khushi owns up to that mistake she fully supported her. I absolutely agree with Nani...everyone has a right to financial independence and also like nani's point about how happy its making Khushi- its so important to enjoy one's work...my only problem once this track gets over she'll stop working...which again shows inconsistencies in the characterization:-(

    2. I liked that Arnav didn't immiediately start yelling at her. He asked her to sit down...and the bit I liked the best in that scene was even when he was leaning against the chair and trying to get her to focus and she didnt respond he sort banged the chair and walked away in frustration-felt very natural.

    3. I'm glad they showed Arnav clueless and disinterested in everyone's food arrangements in the start of the episode...felt a little more realistic...

    4. ROFL Moments:..

'Meri shaadi se tumhe kya problem hai?' (For God's sake like I don't have enough problems because of her-my neck is still stiff...when could she possibly have time to be ruining someone else's life??)

'Sakshath Annapurna'...had to google that one:-D

'Ma'm...not bhabhiji...' little sadda haq shone through...awww...chalo deduct some miles off the road to redemption for bitwa.

Nani remembering mami's holiwala mughal andaaz...:-)

4.I didn't like that Khushi's started a dabba service in ASR's office especially without asking him. The one time feeding the staff as Mrs. Raizade was alright but at the end of the day it doesn't behove of the wife of the boss to be providing dabba service to his employees...(yes I know why should she care about his image when he plans to kick her out after 6 months...just pointing out...)

    5. I liked that she remembered 'bina cheeni ki mithai' for him:-) also liked how she sunaoed him a little- very wifey...lol.

    6. Did not like Shukhlaji telling boss how amazing bosses wife is...as if he doesn't know that(he doesn't-but employees shou;dn't think/know that)...and that too in front of whole staff...it was quite inappropriate. Also I lose track of whether they're HMC act is on or not? Cause how can they be publically squaring off if they just eloped and had a love marriage- oh ho-discontinuity s giving me a headache.

Finally...Shyaam...I found it seriously weird that ASR has not had a problem transferring money into his Jijaji's account all these years. Forget the fact that Shyaam has no qualms mooching off his younger saale, shouldn't the business savvy, worldly wise ASR find it disagreeable if not downright repulsive that his Jijaji can't provide for himself and his wife? Found that inconsistent with the character. ASR places a lot of emphasis on power and money. For him respect and aukad come hand in hand with that. How was he okay marrying his di off to a man who not only has none of the above but doesn't even intend to work for it. Yeesh!!

The others are okay...for Nani all her boys are working and for mami and Payal their husbands are working. ASR may run the show but the other two contribute. As for Anjali again have no problem with her taking money from her brother because though she's married their relationship is almost mother-son sometimes and its ok for him to do anything for her. But Shyaam taking money from his BIL-way too repugnant. For heavens sake Khushi who is technically the wife of the man breadwinner of the family wants her own independence and this ferret is willing to mooch of Saale Sahib-yuck!

phew sorry for the rant...Had to make up though;-)

    1. Agree to all your points - said them too :)
as for ODB giving money to TF - i think they said he transferred the money into his sister and BIL's joint account - so he gave the money to 'both' of them - and the reason for this is not hard to find - rewind to a few months back - remember how it was always shown that the good lawyer was the massiha of the poor - did not take any money from anyone and always helped the weak! he would even give his wife whatever little he earned (remember when he was trying to convince ODG what a tyrant his wife was) - so me thinks - ODB gave money to them to take care of them as his 'good kind' bil was out doing good for the world! and hence never questioned what he did with the money - used in on themselves or gave it out

  22. SN: 'Loved the line Lucknow express has left the station'

..really felt metaphoric in the scene where Arnav so patiently tried to talk to her but just couldn't get through to her because her mind was literally elsewhere...:-s

    An article in bolgeindia
    http://www.bolegaindia.com/gossips/Does_Khushi_have_some_motive_behind_starting_her_business_in_Iss_Pyaar_Ko_Kya_Naam_Doon-gid-11686-gc-16.html

As for the exposure, with all the attention it is time to tighten the act not let loose. Agree with Dia, Arshad Khan has always been around though don't know which scenes he has been credited with specifically.

What they are trying to do and the points they are trying to maake is fine just that they could have done it better. Having scene glimpses of really good scenes, it is a downer to see scenes whcih feel foreced and to top it off comedy that seems jarring.

    2. Maybe because Sanaya has already shot for her scenes for this week?

Hope that bolegaindia article has some truth - they also seem to be fishing in the dark, though - it says something about how badly the cv's have goofed on this if no one can figure out exactly why Khushi is doing what she's doing :(
