I loved the continued ArHi confrontation ... everything discussed, spoken about ... there are no hidden skeletons left any more! Except for the fact that he still doesn't believe Khushi *head desk* ... even after she says she hates Shyam for what he did to her and her family ... doesn't he remember her saying the same thing after her engagement broke? That her fiance broke her trust and that of her family ... she told him that twice, once at the poolside and once after Desi Girl party ...
But that terrace scene is burnt too indelibly into Bitwa's dimaag ... can't she tell him, you hugged La more than once, I saw you, you even told her you loved her, now you deny it, ... what should I believe when you insist you never loved her? What you say, or the evidence of my own eyes, what I saw and heard?
She does try to tell him that things can be misunderstood, but Bitwa is just not able to believe.
Hope it is as I said yesterday ... he has started thinking, but it's going to take him some time. In the meantime, the catharsis has happened. And all the facts are out ... there is literally nothing more to tell. Now it's all a question of trust and belief.
Also, I was glad he asked that very pertinent question ... if you think TF is such a slimeball, why didn't you tell me? Why did you let my Di go on worshipping him?
Valid question ... and she managed to answer it ... because I didn't want her life upset because of me. She could have added ... so I would have stayed out of his way and their lives, but I can't now, because you married me and brought me into the house. And also asked in her turn - would you have believed me if I'd told you your Jija is a KJ?
Also glad she told him that TF is still continuing in his slimy ways ... hopefully Bitwa will keep more of a watch now.

And this will be the reason Khushi has to walk out ... there HAS to be a separation for Arnav to realise that this assumption of his about her was so very wrong.

At home, the R's continue in their HATE-opia (love that word! :)) ) and don't notice anything wrong in the morose couple's behaviour at all! Except for RRR - who continues to be the smartest of the lot, and as Arnav is physiologically incapable of stopping himself from showing his true feelings and glares fiercely at RRR, the latter is pretty much clued in as to the latest developments on the ArHi front!
Arnav, bitwa ... you do need to learn how to not show your emotions so transparently. Take some lessons from your wife ... she's much better at hiding her feelings, although she's not doing such a great job right now ... she is obviously petrified that with your temper flaring uncontrollably, you will land KJ one on the nose, and there will go all Di's rose tinted dreams of Happy Families!
The only miniscule development was that Payal seemed to notice some change in equation between ArHi-Shyam ... though with her track record, don't expect that to lead to anything much.
Ah, there was a Bubbly-Payash scene somewhere ... they really need a smart sexy PYT teenager rather than a nine year old for this role!
Khushi-Payal ... as expected Payal has no clue about the actual cause of the tension, and doesn't even bother to ask.
Khushi is at her wits' end ... and desperate ... she can't bear to live with this slur ... to know that his opinion of her can be so low ... but who can she ask for help?
BG and Payal are considered ... and dropped ... if Arnav in his temper lets out that the marriage is only for six months ...
Again, am glad she thought about BGP and then dropped them ... the reason was weak, after six months, the truth would be out anyway ... but after knowing the true reason for the marriage, she can at least hope that if he learns the truth, then he will change his mind about the six month part ... so yes, she doesn't want anyone to know about the six month part yet ...
Which is also good, because this means she won't accidentally tell Shyam either ... and she does know she has to hide her love for Arnav from him too ... though she doesn't succeed in doing that completely ...
So in her desperation, she decides to ask RRR to tell Arnav the truth ... the truth being that he was a PG at their house, and they got engaged? Not very sure what exactly she wanted him to tell Arnav ... and after his repeated attempts to get close to her, how could she not think that he might tell Arnav something other than the truth? But she's desperate, she has literally no other choice ...
Also Shyam lets out to Khushi that he also knows the reason for the sudden marriage ... but Khushi is too disturbed to notice that ... or maybe she hasn't realised in all the confusion, she forgot to ask Arnav how exactly he found out about her and Shyam ...
And the paper signature scene is a little strange ... does Khushi not read English? And Shyam isn't telling Khushi not to tell Arnav that he has asked her to get Arnav's signature, and even if he does, Khushi will tell Arnav that Shyam was asking for the signature, especially now with full knowledge of the situation between the two men ... so Arnav will read the papers for sure ... which means that the papers are another red herring ... it's not an altered will yet, maybe they are just to get a sample signature, or something. Or even worse, to worsen the MU between ArHi ... but I dont think that's the primary motive right now ... Shyam was already worried about getting the signature before Khushi appeared. But he's already told Khushi that Arnav knows the content of the papers and it's just his anger at re-signing that Shyam is worried about ... so he can't now tell Khushi not to tell Arnav it was him asking for the signature ... all very confusing! Basically again doesn't appear well thought out - Khushi knows Shyam wants Arnav's signature, Arnav will know Shyam used Khushi quite openly to get his signature, so where is the secret?
Also, Shyam told Khushi that he knew the reason for their marriage, which means that Khushi knows there is bad blood between Arnav and Shyam, so shouldn't she wonder why would Shyam still be doing deals for Arnav? And after she got the signature, she had no hold on Shyam to tell the truth ... besides, if he went to Arnav and said it the way he just did, that I will say anything Khushi wants me to say ... it will only worsen matters, not improve them ... And why would Arnav believe Shyam, whom he thinks is her co-conspirator, any more than he believed her? Shyam himself said that Arnav doesn't trust him either. Oh dear, Khushi really hasn't thought this through at all ... she is just too desperate!
Or the cv's haven't thought it through ... this whole thing was just put into play hurriedly because of the kidnapping track ...

Yesterday they elevated Khushi with self respect and today they mercilessly pushed her down taking away her brain.
Oh I am soooooooo furious now.
I get that she gave a valid reason for not turning to her own family however feeble it was, that she does not want them to know the real reason of the marriage. But she can turn to Payal right.

episode started really well - was so so happy all was out in the open - he believed her too - yes he did until the fatal dialogue was remembered (always thought it was her statement that was the nail in the coffin and not the hug!!)
how can she go to the scumbag for help - help - even if he had reformed and not tried to man handle her/impose upon her during the days after her wedding and hence she thought he was a reformed character - i could have understood if she went to him for help - but she knew that he had not changed a bit - yet she goes to him???? no no definitely not in tune with her character

He will see a Khushi pleading with him to clarify with Shyam about her innocence and when Shyam will in all his stupidity (i am not sure of the circumstances) say something damning causing Arnav to probably think that they are not in it together(like something not adding up)...contrast her confidence in her innocence and Shyam ending up damning her further!!( Arnav shld question that aspect, right??) Am i making any sense or is this a lost cause??

Okay, this sounds very convoluted, but bear with me ;)
DeleteKhushi has gone to Shyam out of sheer desperation - now if he actually does say something to Arnav, what can he say?
a) the truth, because he realises Khushi has told Arnav the whole truth and that's why she wants Shyam to corroborate it. That he's obviously not going to do UNLESS he wants to keep up the reformed act and he also realizes (what Bitwa apparently hasn't till now) that it's actually very easy for Bitwa to find out the facts about his being PG from the mohalla.
b) a lie, that Khushi and Shyam are in this together - or are lovers, because Shyam wants to worsen their relationship, not solve it. Now if he does that, yes, it will worsen the Arhi rishta, but Bitwa might actually wonder why Shyam, IF he is actually in this with Khushi, is using the opportunity to discredit her rather than shield her ... and why would Khushi, when she's trying to hide the relationship would actually risk asking Shyam to say anything at all ... doesn't she know that Shyam has already told Arnav about their affair?
So IF ... a big IF ... Bitwa stops to think a bit, then he would realise that Khushi asking Shyam to talk to Arnav is a sign of her own naivety and not her complicity. Because she couldn't be so dumb if she was trying to hide her affair!
But that is always supposing that Bitwa starts to THINK ... which apparently isn't happening yet ... although I live in hope, that now the truth is out, he can at least start to investigate.
Another thought - the reason for the kidnapping might also be RRR galvanised int action that if Khushi has told Arnav the truth, even if Arnav doesn't believe her, he can check and find out with the mohalla - this hasn't struck Arnav yet, but it might strike Shyam, as he is the only thinking member of the trio as of now. So before Arnav can check, get him out of the way.

The only thing in this scenario is it asks for some rational thinking and testing which I am not sure Arnav is presently capable of or is he?

Although i accept that Arnav is still reeling in the past and its pure simple possessive lover in the Arnva that was doing the talking but still Arnav i mean put two and two together!!! go to other flashbacks as well, the day when khushi left RM crying and shaking and you were furious about her whereabouts, remember the sagaai evening when she told u that fiancé broke her trust and she left him!! Goddammit open your eyes!!!! She told you the reason of her silence, how much she hates Shyam (something she hid from the whole wide world)

Like I just said at length in the main post ... I find no sense in the asking for signature scene! Did I miss Shyam telling Khushi that don't tell Arnav it's me who needs his signature?

The man she loves so much thinks her to be little worse than a slut - she isn't thinking straight right now. She just wants someone, ANYONE to tell him that she's not trying to ruin his Di's life ... that she's not what he thinks she is ... she's barely holding herself together right now.
And I think when he asked her that question, that why didn't you tell me earlier about Shyam if you felt he was such a scumbag, she did realise that she'd made a huge mistake back then.

- She had asked TF to leave his sister (borrowing from Jaya's point from yesterday - he knows she is a woman of principals, so will not have an illicit affair- will want to marry the guy hence is asking her Boyfriend to dump his wife and marry her!!)
3)Arnav returns and asks her again - why did you not tell me earlier - here if ODG had not removed his hand from her face - used the 'simple solutions' talked of earlier on the blog - the situation could have been diff. - her removing his hands was the final rejection of him (after all she was talking about hating Shyam - not loving ASR!)
4) finally - he feels she is saying all this to now stay married to ASR for the money thing (missed that bit in the first watch!) - typical ASR - whenever he starts believing in his KKG - he has to hide behind the aukat/gold digger comments!! - (SN - now am pretty sure there will be a separation track - just to prove that she is not in love with him for the money!)
5) TF was true to character - making snide remarks - throwing poisonous shafts at ASR - like he has been doing since the wedding (bali trip etc)
6)Payal - am hoping mad at you - you saw the TF make nasty comments - you sat with ODG later - could you not have asked her if she was unhappy coz TF was bugging her - glad she is happily married but why the hell does she have amnesia - why cant she remember what a creep TF was and that she owes her own wedding to KKG - at least ask her how she is dealing with the creepwa???
7) KKG alone - thinking - 'cant live like this - cant have him think of me like this - he has to believe me!' - true to character till here!!

Khushi understands that Arnav got it wrong and she does make an attempt to tell him that he misunderstood but in anger, Arnav switches off...
Now here is the missing link.....
There should have been a scene here which shows Khushi's discomfort that Arnav misunderstood the terrace scene and partially accepting that Arnav may be justified in his thinking.....she should have mentally resolved to get that doubt ironed out
Here is where the narrative slipped.....what was the need for that RM nonsense, instead they shld have spent a couple of mins on this monologue and moved to a jiffy RM scene with the Shyam dialogue
Watched y’day’s episode quite late. When ASR told Khushi she has no character, I felt like shouting,”Shut up, fellow. Bahut dinon ke baad they’ve given her some character!” (Of course, this happened only on rewatch as the first time I was just staring at the screen unblinkingly)

C&C ODB had 3 months and we don’t know if he has any plans still!

@ Mona ’how can she go to the scumbag for help’ :ASR is more or less predictable. K has always been UNPREDICTABLE. We make excuses for ASR because we know he had a troubled past. Maybe its time we allowed ODG the same luxury! She seems foolish and childish. Really, today I felt she is totally unsuspecting and childlike when she turned to Shyam(OK. Don’t kill me 4 this).Maybe there’s something in her past that has turned her into this all -forgiving sacrificial(read suicidal) lamb. I really hope so, otherwise we have a dumb heroine.
Need to re-watch the first half for ‘the return of the angry young man’and catch all the brilliant dialogues.

DeleteSu, unpredictable - yes, feisty yes, problem solver (through whatever crazy ideas) yes yes yes - that's why i cant stand her going to TF - that is so not in line with her character - No matter how desperate she was, she could have thought of some crazy plan - some scheme - which could have failed but she would have tried - the KKG we know would have done it - would not have gone to the man 'she hates more than anyone else' for help- that too when she knows he hasn't changed - if they had shown TF behaving properly with her - she could have thought (in her innocence) he has changed and then her going to him would have been ok - but now it is character assassination - especially because it will lead to even more trouble - See the old KKG did not even tell DI about ASR - kept her fights private (even when they were bad) and now she goes and practically tells her enemy that things are bad between her and her husband! do you get my point - i am not upset with KKG - i am mad at the CVs for doing this to her!!

Delete- and as for the story going down coz of Barun's absence - i don’t think that is a fair assumption the CV must have had enough notice - plus i am pretty sure every profession has 'holidays' - so the Cv should have planned, used build the side stories well to have taken off the pressure on the leads
And going by their track record - have to say - the CV are the ones who come up with ridiculous stuff - right from the wedding they are the ones floundering - ODB and IDG have been giving their 100% and that at least is very very apparent!

Deleteit seems that once the emergency marriage happened, the Creative team faced a wall.. they had not planned for the wedding to be only for 6 months. in view of previous discussions on this blog, (thanks sandy) the original story was ASR offering a live in for khushi, with the mask of marriage (sindoor and Mangal sutra)... but the channel (SP) vetoed the idea, and they had to do a whole rewrite of the storyline to accommodate that they actually got married and that too, for 6 months.
now since they had already shot the holi sequence, they had to show that.. but then, hit a block.. what to do now??? the previous storyline did not work, the sudden spotlight on them due to SPA awards and all disoriented them, they tried to make khushi the standard SP bahu.. sarees, neclaces, tears.. the audience hated it.. since the PH reads fansites like IF, they had to do something to combat the hate being thrown at them.. so thought, comedy. sanaya does it wonderfully, so comedy it is.. the first week, okay, the audience is getting happier, second week, OTT.. cue the shoe throwing.
but after 2 months of the same directionless meandering, someone had the bright idea to call for a group huddle. so at last, they gave us some monologues, some serious moments, some confusion, and a visit to the GH. where they tried to show arnav getting a dose of the Heart of the poor people..with lecturing monologues and all.. and when the tribes were getting more restless, they just opened the pandora's box. poof.. the scenes that could have been shown over two weeks, suddenly. in two episodes. and phuss.. add the sham-khushi convo at the end, to spoil the whole damn thing..
if they had stopped at arnav-sham stare, we would have been eager to watch today's show.. what will happen? will arnav say something??
all they had to do was elongate the khushi-payal scene.. with some meaningless chitchat about babuji or pritika's shaadi, khushi can act as if nothing's wrong, but payal sees her face and asks, are you missing amma bauji? and khushi crumbles and cries hugging payal... taking the little small comfort that she can, even without telling anyone the truth..
that whole scene was rushed through.. and we get a tacky product.

DeleteThats really the problem now with the ARHI story...somehow its diffi to accept anyone else other than BS and SI in their roles....they have owned up these characters so beautifully that its impossible to think of anyone doing that, however capable the replacement artists....
if such a thing were to happen, it would be better for the PH to wind up after closing the loops. The story is of course the main attraction but the lead pair have added so much to it....
even techncially, since FBs play such an imp role in this story....that they will kill the soul of the story if they replaced the lead pair

ReplyDeleteWHY would Arnav sign a paper sent by Shyam at all? And wouldn't he READ it before signing it? And if it's his own will, which the guy would know whether he drafted or not, then why would he sign a will which appoints TF sole executor? I didn't see that bit, by the way ;)
And he doesn't trust Khushi either, so why would he sign anything she asked him to?
Come to that, TF knows ODB doesn't trust Khushi either, why is he asking Khushi to get Arnav's signature in the first place? It only makes sense if he's trying to worsen the mistrust between Khushi and Arnav, but he was seen to be actually worried about getting those signatures before Khushi entered. And TF might think Khushi won't understand the legal jargon (and won't understand the word WILL) ... but does he think Arnav won't read what he signs either?
So there will be some panga here for sure.
Secondly - why would Khushi think that if Arnav doesn't believe her, he will believe Shyam? When he thinks they are partners in crime? And doesn't she know Shyam's conniving ways by now, that it's far more likely he will try to throw a spanner in the works? Unless she thinks that if he's making a bid to convince Arnav he has reformed, he will be willing to say it for that reason.
She is not thinking at all right now - she is just too shattered and desperate.
So Arnav doesn't believe Khushi, he won't believe TF. WHAT will it take him to believe the truth? At this point, the only thing I can think is Anjali knowing the truth and faking the entire pregnancy stunt to push the ArHi wedding, because she knows what a sleazeball her husband is. And telling Arnav that - because Di is the only person he believes. And I would love for that to happen because a0 he would realise that Khushi was telling the truth all along, and
b) it would take the shine off that Di worship - his dratted Di and her blinkers about her husband are the cause o all the troubles in their lives
I think Khushi did not connect the terrace hug as being the scene Arnav saw. If you recall, the bulk of the terrace scene was her shouting at Shyam, or being shell-shocked at what he was telling her ... and ended with her telling him she hated him. The scene which is engrained into his brain is probably the least of the things she remembers of that night. Besides, Bitiya has this habit of blocking off unpleasant memories and trying not to think about them at all.

There maybe one more reason why she can’t tell her family and this thought has not even occurred to her. He has clearly stated that she has disappointed the Guptas, the Raizadas and her own parents.
As of today, even if Payal tells him about the engagement, he will stick to his impression that she has taken everyone for a ride. Something from some other angle has to happen, for him to even consider her innocent. Right now he doesn’t even give her the benefit of doubt(This is my poor overactive brain. I hope the thinking process has already started).
5. Kidnap drama and will: all we can do is wait and watch.
I hope and pray Khushi doesn't save him. Because if she is that smart, the MU would have been a cakewalk for her.
Agree with that last point - now even if he asks her family, he will think she has asked them to support her story - especially Payal.

But like you said he might have started thinking, but didn't get time to act, that's the only hope for the kidnapping.
Secondly for K to ask help from creep is because like for Bitwa the terrace scene is etched in his mind, and now the same thing is pasted in her mind too, she has connected to hug and her asking the slime to leave his Di, as the main reason for his accusing her character, hence she as a last resort pleads him that what he saw was not the truth. So she now knows that the only way Bitwa will accept her clean is from shyam, and hence the desperation to ask the creep to clear her from the mess, but what she didn't expect is the deal he made and foremost is blurting out of her love. Or I will give a benefit of doubt that she is fully aware of what she is asking from shyam leading to a confrontation with bitwa witnessing it completely from the start to the end. I am saying this because the emotional Khushi is like a firecracker.. You never know what the splinters light up. She can plan within mins, it may seem to be stupid and childish but she knows what she wants. So I am hoping that they show K as having an upper hand. And deals with A and S in their own style.
Am sure she might take the papers and stall the signing trying to see other ways to convince bitwa, when nothing else works she will go back to shyam saying she can't or will make ASR sign and ask shyam to complete his side of the deal, hence the Arhi waiting for shyam at the airport and subsequent Bitwa getting kidnapped. Either way shyam has to take Bitwa away – either sign the papers if K hasn’t done, or to kill bitwa to take as sole executor.
Dia why i feel so is Khushi has always confronted the people on face – like you when she meets ASR again at the dargaa, she confronted him, or take the breaking of the engagement, her first person to question was La, she thought LA would tell her the reason, but she doesn't , then who does she go?? ASR - that is directly to horse. Similarly where did she first go when ASR married her - to him directly when he didn't she started her OTT. So K going to shyam is not stupid but in K character, she did try to convince bitwa by telling him whole truth, and even thinking about GBP, but had a road block with 6 month contract, So last resort is to get it from horse’s mouth thinking A will accept. But that’s her desperation in which she isn’t logically thinking that shyam might have manipulated bitwa in thinking so and might trick it again. But what is stupid is taking the deal and it would be more stupid if she makes arnav sign it even before trying once more to convince him by herself.

But the final push will be when she walks out as KKG at end of contract, will bitwa start his RTRW.

I am driven to understand her thot process here....
My perception.
I think she wants this to be cleared with Arnav as she feels that Arnav has misunderstood her actions at the terrace. otherwise why does she want to give a justification at all in the span of two frames? she is also shown saying that she cannot live with the aspect of arnav thinking that about her...(as he is her loved one)
Playing the devil's advocate here; Is it her love that is suddenly on an overdrive? If so, the trust deficit is not an issue for her becos, the fact that Arnav does not trust her is evident to her and therefore, am i to presume that she wants her name cleared but the fact that he does not trust her does not bother her anymore as she has no expectation from him.....is this merely a matter of her wanting to clear her name...as any righteous person does....
Now, assuming she goes about clearing her name, and succeeds in doing so and Arnav realising his folly, confesses her love for her. Is that when Khushi's penny is going to drop...imagining that Arnav loved her always but did not trust her....is that what is going to break her? Is that when she will stage that famed walk-out that we have all discussed...

DeleteAnswering the last question first ... I wonder if Khushi will ever walk out? Whatever Arnav has done to her, her love doesn't seem to falter, even now she has told him the whole truth, he doesn't believe her, yet all she can think about is that she can't bear for him to think so badly of her. So I think her walkout, or their separation will again be because of Di - they will admit their love, but because of something Shyam does, they will have to separate - or Di comes to know, and blames Khushi or can't bear to see Khuahi, so she will leave and Arnav will have to let her go. And that might be what finally proves her innocence for once and for all in his eyes.
Coming back to Khushi approaching Shyam, and this is replying to Aaru also ...
Is Khushi planning to expose Shyam to Arnav? And her approaching him to tell the truth is part of a plan? Like I said above, she knows Arnav doesn't trust her, Shyam himself confirms that Arnav doesn't trust him, Arnav said he wouldn't allow her and Shyam to harm his Di ... but her priority is to prove to Arnav that she is not having a chakkar with Shyam, and whatever he saw was an illusion. And she now knows that what is bothering him is seeing her and Shyam together, and her telling Shyam to leave Anjali.
So is she planning to re-set up the terrace scene with Shyam - but with a twist? And that's why she starts talking to Shyam at all ... telling him as close to the truth as possible to keep her story plausible. Because Khushi DOES plan ... much more than Arnav does ... she planned her Swami act, she planned her 101 ways to irritate Arnav, she tried to call Arnav's bluff about Payash wedding ... she's a girl of action.
The only flaw in this thought process is that Arnav is getting kidnapped on Saturday, so she won't have time to put this into action. But it could be starting to set up for the track when he comes back, just in time to prove her innocence by 6th June, which is the anniversary of the show. And in time for the end of the six month marriage, and then her leaving.
And there will be some panga with the papers - now as Jaya saw, the new will says TF will be executor ... if Arnav signs, then TF is ready to bump him off ... why would he bother to kidnap him? So my feeling is he won't sign but Khushi might trick Shyam by saying he's signed and she will give Shyam the papers at the airport once he tells Arnav the truth. In the meantime Shyam, eavesdropping as usual, knows she's lying, and decides to kidnap Arnav for whatever reason and do the job himself.
yepiiiiiiiii dia you cracked it girl I think so that shyam will eavesdroop and all her plan will backfire. I was not getting this as how her plan will backfire and kidnapping will take place now it sounds all posible.. phew!!!

Kidnapping has been put in for Barun's movie ... ab how much sense the cv's can make out of this track, god knows! Worst possible timing, with the TRP's dipping low again ... though that was expected after last week. Just hope the cv's have learned their lesson that you can't make your heroine into a joker, even if you're painting the hero to be Mr Perfect ... the tv audience wants a strong female lead and eye candy for the hero.

Deleteyes Gargi these actors have a shelf life, in terms of co-star etc, hence they are seen at intervalsas they need a good costar, director and script, but they do have a quite good fan following if they maintain that genre and take work accordingly. Rishta.com was around 2 years back and had shelf life of some 30 episode but Kavi did mark himself there. although he had shruti seth and Yashraj banner , good director and different story which was to cater a different set of ppl with modern, young and logical or practical viewers, Kavi does still have a good number of fan following. Infact me and Dia wanted Sanaya to work with Kavi when MJHT was closing shop.
I also wanted Sanaya to work with Karan Wahi, remember, Aaru? And I'd like to see her with Harshad Chopra - saw a few episodes of Tere Liye and liked him. She would probably look good with Karan T of Behna show also ... again a good looking couple. Gargi will agree to that one! :)

Yes Dia you and Sona did and me ashu and anni were dead against it calling him bachcha.. Kavi was hot fav at time, Harshad is good actor and has worked with San before LRL, But Karan T is again a good option. San does have lots of option, But BS at present humm after seeing him with San I can't think of anyone at the moment,similar like i can't think anyone else with Mohit. may be Mona Singh or Riddi of Maryada.. although I haven't seen her acting much.

DeleteRiddhi is not a great actress - of the four leading ladies of Maryada, she was the weakest. The girl who played Vidya was much better - she looks very earthy and rustic, while BS looks very urban. But the senior actresses - Indrani Haldar, Mona Ambegaonkar and the lady who played Uttara just stole the show - they were fabulous!
Actually, apart from San, there really is a dearth of good actresses on telly - I can't think of a single one! Those who can act as well as look good! That's why I asked for options!!! Lemme check the IF actresses - will be back with a list!

ReplyDeleteTo sustain it is difficult..I can only think of SRK who managed to capture the imagination of people in his time in a role of Abhimanyu Rai on TV and went to rule Bollywood...that kind of success is difficult to replicate...I still remember the craze among girls for SRK and we are talking of non-internet world when info didn't travel so fast...
Now, its difficult...now the show is on...so there is this buzz...once it ends...it will go away...unless actors find innovative ways to keep themselves in public memory without being stupid..(a la Mihir (amar somebody) of that Ekta serial, who just vanished without a trace).
The question for BS, I guess is to decide between tv and Bollywood right now and strike while the iron is hot if he wants to make it in Bollywood. His first two shows were iffy - they never got him anywhere near this kind of fame, this one has pushed him into the public eye - a good time to make his moves.
ReplyDeleteTwo sides of the coin again, I guess - very few telly actors have actually made it big in Bollywood of course - we have ONE SRK and now one Vidya Balan ... and Vidya Balan struggled a lot before she reached where she did. And the list of failed telly actors is far longer, added to which the ones who made the switch when they were at the pinnacle of their career in tellywood, are the ones who came the biggest cropper - take that Mihir somebody, Rajeev K, who is a really good actor (I saw his film Aamir), Prachi Desai, who's still struggling ... KSG, whose ego is bigger than his talent - that guy has mass hysteria among fangirls, and he is nowhere today ...
On the other hand, look at Ram Kapoor, Ronit Roy ... they have managed a good balance between the two worlds, and they have been around for ages. Varun Badola has been around for a long time too - he's got three hit shows to his credit, because the guy is just a damn good actor, period - Koshish, Astitva and Des Mein Nikla ... funnily, I have followed all three - the only actor for whom I can say that! He did another show also, which I haven't seen, and now PSH ... Kanwaljeet is another lambi race ka ghoda ... has been around forever since soaps started on Indian telly, I think. So telly actors can stick around for a long time, and the good ones do get roles regularly, but every show might not be a hit, that's for sure ...
but then that goes for movies as well ...
So net net, I don't blame BS for trying movies ... but I do personally feel he's been a bit premature. IPK is his first big hit, he should have waited to see it through the first year and a half at least ...
If he does make it big and his movie works, then the cv's have only two options - replace him, or end the show. And again, it would be damn unfair to end a hit show because your lead chose to walk out - they wouldn't do it - they would get a replacement for sure, at least on trial basis.
See KTLK, it's been doing badly on TRP's, Mohnish Behl left, they still got a replacement to try and salvage it ... in DMG Shilpa left, they got Sukirti, then Jenny ... in PR, the lead left, they got another guy ... so if BS does leave, a replacement WILL happen ... and BS knows that.
Also, hate to say this, but in many instances the storyline of shows faltered because of the impending departure of one of the leads, and the makers wanted to keep the dhamaka for the new actor, so that he/she would be more easily accepted. And considering that BS's movie would have been in the pipeline for at least a couple of months before the shoot started, that's another possible explanation of why they have gone nowhere for the last two months.

ReplyDeletewhichever way......it will be known in the short term....if the leads are replaced....and the show continues to do well...that will be vindication of the story and in case it goes downhill....the PH would have options of ending story and moving on...
Hindsight is great science but frankly diffi for anyone to predict which moves will really work..so telly actors who have an iota of a chance will take one of these moves....tho everyone currently feels possessive about such things..its a phase...
Ronit Roy was a diff case..he was a failure in movies but somehow his security agency venture took off and i guess he ended making his presence felt and did a pretty decent job on TV...( i haven't seen his work) Again, it was the timing...Ekta was in great form...and somehow that partnership clicked, i guess.
So it adds u got to have lot of things clicking....who would have imagined that Vidya Balan(her talent never in doubt) who made her debut in TV thru Ekta and ended up giving one of best hits thru an Ekta movie. It talks about the tenacity of the actor to dig in...also have it in them to go the distance...in short....right place, right time...All the best to the triers!!
And that biggest and most elusive factor of all ... Lady Luck!!!
DeleteBut yes, any telly actor will give it a shot if he gets a chance ... and he's entitled to do so, it's his career and his life, after all.
Am guessing that either he has put in his notice already, and that's why the timing, just about a year of the show - he must have had a one year contract to start with ... so time for the contract to end soon ...
or alternatively, and more likely, he has given an undertaking for the next year to NOT quit ... and hence has been given time off during present contract to go for the shoot ... because otherwise, it would be difficult to imagine a PH being so benevolent to their cash cow. And am sure his current contract would have a 'no work for any other agency during the term of this contract' type clause - that's standard in any employment contract. He can't violate that, and the PH would not let him do so if they knew he was planning to quit at year end. This must have been agreed during negotiations for the next year's contract.

ReplyDelete1) That Arnav has accepted her theory of the engagement(don't ask me why he did not probe further)....what he needs is reassurance about is that she does not have anything to with Shyam.....in many ways this track will be about Khushi making up to Arnav (very chauvinistic for my liking!)
2) The misunderstanding started with Shyam and his words and will also end with him and his words..(after this, how will trust ever bloom in their "poolside"?)
I know ASR is a flawed hero and we signed up for this ride knowing that but i hope his redemption is also equally gud ride!! or Shweths's DANDAAA bhi kam padega

Going by last few replies above , looks like its all abt BS movie and IPK getting effected, i'm the only one may be who is least bothered abt it .
One thing i would like to share from my own TV experience, if the plot is good then the PH can surive with replacement , initially it may not pick but later it will .
How ? Its very natural for viewers to accept anybody over a period of time as they see/watch they regularly.As hussian quoted abt replacements - "TV mein roz chahare dekthe dekthe adadth aur pyaar hojayega" which is true. EK's shows have rocked with replacement coz her characters are more stronger than the actors playing it.
Gul failed by paying all the attention to ASR character without establishing Khsuhi , may be she had a different plan to have it developed after IPK would complete an yr so that the show runs long but somewhere it back fired i guess.
If this PH can really pay wel then they can get well established seasoned actors to play ASR coz ASR is bigger than BS whereas SI is bigger star than her character khushi.
The only reason I can find for making Khushi look like a fool was to make Arnav's own stupidity of not believing Khushi look not so stupid.There have been umpteen clues that were there in the past to validate her statement. He knew she was upset the day before she broke up her engagement. He had seen her discomfort around Shyam. He knew her fiance was a PG in the house for he was squirming in his seat when buaji asked her to call her fiance when they had come over to fix up Payal's wedding with Aakash. Yet he has problem believing her. All that she had said requires several witnesses to prove her right. All he needed to do was to check on those witnesses- whether it was her family or her neighbours. But no, our man just stops thinking if he recollects that terrace scene. I'm now fed up of his brains inaction and I don't care for Khushi's foolishness either.
