Lots of things happened today ... Shyam found the papers before he even reached the airport, Anjali's cryptic remark about "Laxmi aapke haath nahin aayegi," ... I was relieved that Shyam didn't offer Khushi a lift back from the airport :)
Bubbly-Payal drama dragged as usual ... the only saving grace is that we know she's leaving ...and it was good to see Anjali and Nani shut Akash up for being unreasonable - if a nine year old kid chooses to hide in a cupboard, she deserves to be locked in ... Did Payal see that Bubbly's last smirk or not? If Bubbly is to be leaving, hope her activities are unveiled before she goes ... otherwise the track would be pointless ... wait, it already was pointless, so scratch that ...
A beautiful Anjali-Khushi scene, where Khushi almost blurts out the truth to Anjali ... Anjali says that if Arnav had to stop, wouldn't he have listened to her all these years, when she asked him to stop?
Wonder how Anjali will feel when Khushi does manage to make him do the things he's never done for so long ...
But it was nice to see Khushi get some badly needed support ... although am not sure why Anjali felt the need to hide Khushi's worry from Arnav ... *head desk* ... woman, you need to tell your brother that his wife was going crazy missing him!
Sanaya said she and Daljeet are great friends ... it shows on screen - their bonding comes through beautifully.
Khushi remembers Arnav ... fb's of the last airport scene ... am guessing older ones will start flowing in soon ...
And Khushi finds out that the papers are missing ... already?! And from her last expression, she has a very good idea where they could be ...
Precap - new entry ... funny fat guy? Walking in through the front door in the middle of the night? I thought the Raizadas had security guards at the gate ... what happened?
Decent episode, the only thing which dragged was the Payal-Bubbly track as usual ... after this episode, I think Barun wasn't required for this week, so he took leave for his movie ... not the other way around ... because honestly, he needs to be missing for a few days to build up the suspense. Didn't really miss him today ... the story was on track and he wasn't needed ... he's supposed to be on the flight.

Just a few additional thoughts ... quite a few hidden meanings in today's episode, so I will write on those and on the Anjali-Khushi scene.
First, I repeat, the dates for Arnav's disappearance and Barun's leave are not coincidental ... my guess is that his return and a change in the ArHi relationship is scheduled for around the first anniversary of the show, his return is scheduled for around the end of IPL ... the track was planned accordingly, and his movie dates and leave has been scheduled accordingly. Movie schedules would be more flexible than daily soap schedules, he's already working in the soap, while the movie is a new venture ... they would have accommodated for his dates in IPK. So ASR had to be missing during this time ... he was always going to be missing at this time.
I do hope that it's not a straightforward kidnapping, but an engineered plan ... or a surprise move by the wicked chachaji ... if ArHi are going to come close and fight against Shyam together, Shyam needs to become more evil, and what better than for him to fail now, slink out of RM, and link up with evil chachaji ... and start the next track ... delving into Arnav's past.
And if they don't do it this way, I just got my idea for an FF :))
So Shyam has found the papers, but he's not ready to tell Khushi yet, he still wants her to think he will actually tell Arnav the truth. Maybe he thought she wouldn't check the flower pot when she got back ... how long did he think she wouldn't find that the papers are missing? Is he still guilty of underestimating her? Or is he just keeping his bases covered and not letting out any information at all ... let her find out herself, why should he make her job easier?
Khushi is totally distraught that Arnav actually left without giving her a chance ... and Shyam's arriving just too late, made it worse ... if only Arnav had waited. She's breaking down more and more now ... the smiling mask she used to wear has become too much of an effort, she just can't do it any more.
The scene of Shyam finding the papers ... Lakshmi was the factor ... but Lakshmi has always been Khushi's angel, and DM's agent ... whether it was finding the necklace Shyam hid in her bag, finding Shyam's engagement ring and dropping it in Arnav's room ... and being Khushi's confidante after her marriage. So in this too, there is some good hidden ... will come out in the next couple of episodes.
Anjali asking Shyam to look after Lakshmi, and her laughing remark 'aapke haath Lakshmi nahin aayegi ...' ... you won't get your hands on the wealth. Very telling ... Anjali in her sweet emotional blackmailing ways, enjoys a position of power at RM, and also with her husband ... she holds the purse strings, she dispenses money generously, but keeps the control in her hands. Shyam's furious remark 'this is what I'm reduced to, chasing after a goat ...' - he is getting more and more frustrated at his hands being tied because of Anjali's wealth ... he is a trophy husband, with no independent status of his own. And she shows her assertiveness with everyone else in the house, but with Shyam, she keeps the facade of a clinging, dependent wife ... to pander to his ego? Because she feels that will keep Shyam tied to her, making him feel that despite his dependence on the RM wealth, she is the one dependent on him? Or is it more twisted ... they both know it's a facade, an iron hand in a velvet glove.
I hope they make Anjali's character a little twisted, not necessarily grey, but definitely more complex than the simple sweet one she shows. And quite likely ... she has been shown manipulative in her own way ... she manipulated Khushi to come back to RM, she left RM when Arnav threw Khushi out and he had to beg her to come back, she manipulated him to agree for the sangeet, she was upset with Arnav's marriage - though he is the stronger one, he threatened to walk out with Khushi if she didn't accept it, and she had to capitulate on that one ... and today she fires Akash about Bubbly.
MLP-Payal ... not wasting much time on that except to re-emphasize Anjali's role again with Akash - Anjali can be very firm when she wants to be.Why couldn't Payal say that Bubbly knew Payal was going to lock Anjali's cupboard, she told her to do so herself, so why did she hide there in the first place? And why did the whole house go hyper when she was missing? I thought she was supposed to be hiding anyway?
Thank God Bubbly is leaving. And Payal is a very poor actress.Did she see Bubbly's smirk or not? I couldn't make out.
Khushi-Anjali - beautiful nanad-bhabhi scene, with a lot of undercurrents - I love the Anjali-Khushi bonding :)
Khushi enters her room at night ... and goes berserk seeing Arnav's medicines, has he left them behind? Rushes to Anjali ... Anjali reassures her, he has a different packet for his trips, he has his medicines with him. Khushi still wants to call and confirm, but Anjali gently reminds her that he would be on the flight. And teases her that she just needs an excuse to call Arnav.
And Khushi finally breaks down for the first time in front of someone other than Arnav ... lays her head in Anjali's lap and cries ... her worries, her guilt, her fears ...
'Why couldn't he wait just a little longer? Why couldn't he give me just one chance? I begged so many times, for him to wait, not go, just listen to me once ... I tried so much to tell him ...'
And she stops ... she can't tell Anjali what she wanted to tell Arnav ...
Anjali's face is suddenly different .. Liked Daljeet's expressions here, firm, closed face, her usual sweetness wiped off ... there was a sorrow there, and just a hint of something else ... firmness? Annoyance, upset? Anjali has to be at least a little upset with Arnav for not listening to her, for insisting on going off, being alone on their mother's birthday, for closing himself off, not sharing his grief with her, or allowing her to share it with him ... Anjali has different shades, they're just starting to show them again ... the first time was in the immediate aftermath of the wedding.
And then Anjali starts talking ... 'I know what you wanted to tell him, why you wanted to stop him ...'
Khushi is appalled, how does Anjali know? Did she let it out ...?
Anjali goes on ... but in this matter, no one can say anything to him or stop him .. he will do only what his heart tells him to do ... if I couldn't stop him, do you think he would listen to you?
Makes me wonder, if and when the day comes when he does listen to Khushi over Anjali, what will Anjali's reaction be? Because he will do what his heart tells him ... and his heart is Khushi ...
'If he had to listen, wouldn't he listen to me?' Yes, Anjali has tried, and she is hurt that Arnav didn't listen to her ... didn't share his hurt with even her ...and it does hurt her ... lots of undercurrents in the close brother-sister relationship too ...
'If he had to understand what I was trying to tell him, he would have understood ages back ... I tried to tell him that by being alone, he can't feel better ...
That's what you wanted to talk to him about, isn't it?'
And Khushi can only nod dumbly ... she gave him so much pain at a time when he is already hurting from his memories ... another glimpse of the man ... the one who runs from everyone when he's hurting ...
But the difference is, he hides his hurt from everyone else, but he shows his hurt to her by lashing out hardest at her ... will she understand this big difference between the way he treats her and everyone else?
'I know you're worried ... but don't be. He's all right.' And she laughs - 'how Arnav would laugh if he saw me now ... the Di who is always worried, is telling you not to worry ...'
And Khushi says sorry ... she brought up memories which could hurt Anjali ... Anjali says no, it doesn't matter, this will stay between you and me ...
Thankfully .. and hopefully Anjali will not tell Shyam how much Khushi cares for Arnav, is worried for Arnav ... but *head desk* why not tell Arnav, woman? He would be only too happy to know his wife was worried sick about him ... Just hope that Anjali does exactly what she says she won't do, and lets it out to him ... the way she let out the medicine trip ...

Khushi lost in thought ... fb's of Arnav standing still while she stitched his button, he stopped her at first, but when she told him it was no drama, he let her ... turning to look at her at the airport - no anger in his eyes then for sure .... but then he walked away ... but he protected her from the crowds ... but he detached her hand and walked away again ... what is she to read, to think ... Anjali says he always hides his hurt ... is he hiding his hurt under his anger ...?
And then she discovers the papers are missing ...

Soooo Is that Motu Uncle ji the new cop sent by Arnav who is going to be the new character so he can get inside info on Shyam and Khushi.

And from the looks of it, Shyam had nothing to do with the kidnaping and ASR is gayab of his own accord.
And I liked the epi today maybe cos it would be the last few weeks of Bubbly, Nani & Anjali supporting Payal and overall a good epi.
And I loled at the FBs. Don't get me wrong here, My heart skipped a beat seeing them again, but then remembered the creative genius of CVs...Thye must have figured out the audience atleast the Net audience would be getting restless without ASR Darshan, so gave us that, ki lo your daily dose of vitamin ASR.

but today the FB did mean something.. she came back from the airport, was thinking of his multiple reactions at the airport.. the love and the hate.. and her despair.. which is what prompted her to break down in front of Di.
or else she could have remembered any number of in-room scenes.. but she did not.
Gargi, I go with 50%... because there was a definite void in today's episode for me... felt like i was waiting for something to happen.. one stern word, one hard stare, one eyelock between the two of them makes the episode complete. does not have to be 15 out of 22 minutes, just 8 will be fine.. wish the CVs would realize that.

Yaar, I wasn't being mean to Barun, I was being mean to that Shenaz bimbo and the entire movie set up ... wasn't impressive at all! If SI had decided to do a movie with Emraan Hashimi, or some other unknown failed starlet, and decided to compromise her very successful show while she was doing so, I would have been equally scathing! Probably even more :))) And if Barun was in a movie that seemed more promising, or even a side role with good stars (like SI did with Aamir Khan and Kajol), I would be far more reconciled to his compromising the show for it. It seems like a really stupid move to me ... and would seem stupid whoever had taken it, BS or SI ...
DeleteI remember hearing from one of my Geet friends that GC took up a movie towards the fag end of Geet because he had been told Geet was wrapping up - he then had to struggle between both the movie and the show ... although I didn't watch either, I did feel more sympathetic because the guy committed to the movie only because he thought he wouldn't be needed and the show was already slated to go off air ... made perfect sense for him to make his moves. And I'm not a Geet fan but I like both GC and DD ...
Here Barun's move makes absolutely no sense to me ... wrong movie, wrong timing ... for wrong movie, read wrong heroine, because that girl is tried and tested - she cannot act. Not even as though she's an unknown factor ...
Ah, and I mentioned Emraan Hashimi because I don't like the guy ... not because he's a failed starlet ;) ... in fact he's delivered some hits, he would be better than that ST for sure! Just couldn't think of an ST male equivalent!
I personally think that it was just a quick buck as far as BS is concerned.. he will easily get one months salary for 11 days work.. who cares if it is B grade movie or not!

sidenote, if the character is like shravan, he will be a perfect foil for ST... no chance anyone will see ASR in the movie :D
Yep, I also feel it was just to make a quick buck, and maybe to test the waters at a time when he knew he would get the time off ... but the heroine put me off big time ... I'm pretty sure I won't be interested in watching it, unless it gets rave reviews or something!
DeleteAnyway, the sad part is that the movie news has put the discussion of the show on the back burner ... and it's actually at a pretty interesting phase. Now that Shyam's villainy is out in the open for both Arnav and Khushi, I want to see how they both deal with it - as Khushi is starting to do.
My only issue is, that with BS missing, I really REALLY hope they don't make this like all SP soaps where the battle is between the heroine and the villain - and the hero is pretty much eye candy. It's already been happening for a while post-marriage, as we discussed about ASR's character not showing any signs of thinking ... so I hope he HAS pulled this MISSING stunt himself. Although I have been waiting for Khushi to mature, but I wanted it to go hand-in-hand with ASR becoming Arnav ... earlier I cribbed they were making Arnav look hero-like at the expense of Khushi, I don't want the same thing happening in reverse. The beauty of the show is in both characters being equally strong ... it would be really nice to see an intelligent male lead for once on Indian telly.

Hi Dia and Jaya- I completely agree with you. Moreover, the movie is a win-win for BS, movie PH and IPK PH. They all are getting enough publicity due to this. I hope that in midst of all this, BS absence becomes a boon to Sanaya, Abhas and the rest of the cast's acting talents too, and they all get their due appreciation.
DeleteI just hope that BS's movie decision doesn't backfire. The audience always make up their minds towards an actor based on the performance of the movie. If his movie flops, and he goes unnoticed then it will be a disaster for him, in terms of him getting further offers. Thats why I am so not excited for him choosing this mediocre cast movie at this time. Had it been a big banner, and powerful cast, even a small role would have made him fetch future offers. I know financial incentive is there, but a big risk is there as well.
Like Sanaya's Fanna, although the role very small, got her face to be remembered by the audience.
In my opinion BS could have waited for an year after the show to take this step. Its just wrong timing when he is at the peak of his fame, he/PH shouldn't cash so much on it, hopefully his return to IPK is soon enough that he is still able to retain his fanbase.
Otherwise, I just fear that he will become ghar ka na ghaat ka.
I was watching SI's london trip interview and she categorically stated that she doesnt want to do movie simultaneously as a daily show is all one can do justice to. And when BS's movie thing came out, I remembered SI and thought that BS should listen to her sometimes! The girl thinks.

Sukhi, the point is that BS is a rather reculsive guy.. from his earlier interviews, we see that he just considers acting as work... and after two shows relatively unknown, he landed smack dab into the media circus that was starplus, that too in such a notable role. did it well, got many awards, suddenly pushed into the limelight.
Deletehe looks like he is not media savvy either. we know that sanaya is .. and she helps him through interviews and stuff.. this guy is just learning the ropes in the big limelight.. cut him some slack.. (and yes, i agree that this movie was not the best decision he could have taken..)
And she also said that given a BW offer, she will not take something like the role in Fanna. Somewhat implying that it was not worth the effort. I am sure if she was given an average caliber movie offer like BS, she would weigh her options very carefully, keeping the money angle aside. Again saying BS -listen to your friend SI, she is a smart cookie!

DeleteAlthough have to say I agree with her! I saw Fanaa - although I remember her very clearly, I wasn't very impressed by her ... thought she was silly! Well, she played a slightly empty-headed character, flirting with Aamir ;)
She also said BW is full of politics, and she's a simple girl - it's not for her. This was at the end of MJHT, when she wasn't so big. Wonder if she gets a really good offer now, would she think again?
She also said her role was chopped a lot, that was another reason she was disappointed.
I do feel, like sukhi, that BS should have waited a while to make this move ... barely a year since a show started, and not such a great offer either - actually, that's the biggest drawback. Anyway, it's his life, his decision, his risk.

SN; Didn't get a real chance to comment on the ME...just wanted to say I loved the Airport scene. thoroughly and completely heartwrenching. The finality of the goodbye worries me a little...almost like an open ended contingency goodbye...as though if BS doesn't come back at least we'll have had a real goodbye...
My favorite scene was when he asked her why she was so bothered...her absolute indignance doesn't he know? because its you (stupid!):-)

DeleteNa Geetu, Khushi's final breakdown when Arnav is missing will be when she sees the contrast, she will know that whatever harsh words he uses, or hurts her , he cannot see her hurt physically now. Before it didn't matter to him, but now it does matter, the words he says and his action contradict each other, so maybe he does care for me, and I hurt him by not telling him about Shyam before and now I have lost all the chance. That will be the final nail to her breakdown.

I think Aaru is right .... Khushi will be completely broken when she hears he staged his own kidnapping/missing just to check on her ... that he didn't trust her enough. She was very upset when he pretended that his voice hadn't come back, and she continued to worry or him, when he pretended that he had playacted his diabetes faint and she stayed up all night for him ... so she will believe that he did this to punish her even when knowing she was innocent ... and that will break her heart all over again.

Dia...I really hope there's one final incidence...whether its that the kidnapping turns out to be a charade or some other incident that acts as the final nail in the coffin for khushi -so to speak- and she finally gives up. I agree that she probably won't leave unless the 6 month period is over.

They're already showing Khushi breaking slowly and steadily ... previously she has bounced back within hours, and has always been able to hide her pain from everyone else ... today for the first time it came out in front of Anjali. But she has to break more ... right now if Arnav comes back, she will just melt into his arms ... there has to be something even more to hurt her very deeply ... like this wasn't enough!

And in doing so they ruined the real good track and story which had so much scope to go well.

And Khushi knows the papers are missing, she then realises that Arnav is also missing, and she panics. Maybe she will then read the photocopy on her phone and figure out that the papers she read are different from the ones she got signed ... and since Khushi is a smart cookie, she might remember Anjali coming to the room and going out with her for the mangoes, also Anjali mentioned that it was Shyam who remembered ... so she will realise that Shyam substituted the papers ...
now will she confront Shyam? Or will she in turn go hunting for the papers?
And since ASR didn't go to London, he can easily be spying on her and seeing her go frantic to find the papers ... and hear her saying she needs to get them back from Shyam or something - he HAS to be convinced of her innocence now.

(despite this being IPK!) i so want him to know everything with timeline! he should know when she got engaged - when she broke it etc - the story really flows well then - she got engaged coz he hurt her but he broke his coz she was hurt (all that tieing back has to happen!)

DeleteK will know shyam in his creepy best, when arnav goes missing, am sure K will confront him of kidnapping, if he has the paper, its just to tell her not to involve any one/ if he doesn't have he can very well tell her that hurting ASR wouldn't be hard as he has already done that before. For K to know the extent of RRR he has to give out either Bauji or Anajli murder attempts.

DeleteNo , Sama, I don't want that flavour here. I stay on this blog more than on IF for exactly that reason, the obvious bias there for Barun actually puts me off the guy and spoils my appreciation for the fab work he does as ASR. I enjoy being able to post my views here on Sanaya, Barun and the show without being drawn into fights as to who is better. Both make up Arhi, and the show wouldn't be the same without either of them. But I like Sanaya for the last two years and it was her acting skills in a very mundane role that made me her fan, I started watching this show for her, and I will keep watching it for her. The fact that Barun is an excellent actor and makes a great pair with her is just icing on the cake for me :)

Here its team ArHi mostly, you guys never overpower other just simply point out the strengths and weaknesses of each character when needed leading to prove ArHi complements each other perfectly.
Yes at times your portrayal/interpretation of Khushi is so strong that it makes me feel like I'm not getting Arnav's POV or rather emotions clearly to what I expected from a scene but when discussion starts, it leaves me with a huge smile .... Its beneficial for 'Gold-Fish' mind like mine as it cannot connect to as far as episodes almost a year back :D
Completely agree, sanaya can bring out the best in her co actor. That's why I kinda don't worry if arnav change his face, although i'll miss him surely coz of the chemistry and all. Not saying that he will never come back ofcourse he will, but just incase he doesn't. All they need is very good track and all will be well. ~cheng

1)now if ODG had continued with her angry avatar (the you will get nothing from me except my silence!) attitude - her hurt would have found refuge in her moving away.
i understand though why this did not happen - ODG is neither thinking nor cooling down - so if ODG gets all hot too - how will they ever get together? (though of course they could have showed some third member - the mother/brother /sister stepping in and clearing all doubts - but the CVs have never bothered to build their characters and hence now cant bank on them)

DeleteGeetu, remember when we discussing K suicide track earlier I did mention this that K has to hurt herself. minor/major does not matter, but she has to hurt herself physically. That is when A will understand the extend which K will go.. that's where the whole suicide thing comes into play, He can hurt her emotionally and ignore but when she is hurt physical because of him that will his breaking point, that's when his RTRW will start.
DeleteThat redux post so excellently renders my feelings regarding the laid-back attitude of the CVs. I used to make excuses for the CVs until I read about Gul asking for fs. That really put me off the whole show, even the ME didn’t look good enough. And I’ve been wondering for quite some time why even the promos look boring. Either there are no precaps or the precaps look rushed, and sad to say , even the dumbest SP serials always have a precap. Why not IPK? IPK team was conspicuous by its absence in SPA/SPT promos too. Now everything can be attributed to writer’s block?? Agree with Barun that no one can deliver fantasic script all the time, but everyone in the creative team cannot be going blank at the same time. And this whole kidnap(?) track is really testing my patience.

I think they were referring to the poem Shwetha posted today?/yesterday? ... the one on Gautam Hegde's facebook page - Shweths posted it here, I saw the page and someone also form the telly industry I think, had posted another poem as reply, saying it was IPK they were talking about - I posted the reply poem. I didn't think much about it then frankly ... now am having a re-think - so is it really budget issues that are the root of the problem?
