8/5 Hell Hath No Fury contd

Tuesday 8th May

It appears that Blogger doesn't take more than 200 comments a post ... I never knew this!

While I try to figure a way out, let's continue the discussion here :))

Posting the brief update again for reference.

Tuesday 8th May

I was actually holding my breath during the last bit ...
I'm not giving you any explanation because if you can think this about me, you don't deserve one.
The cliff hanger today ... superb ... Why didn't you ask me for an explanation the night you forced me to get married?!

To go backwards ... the first scene ... the pace built slowly, very slowly ... was surprised that Khushi didn't blast off straightaway ... then saw the shock and sheer disbelief in her face ... time and again, she has looked for some softer feelings from this man, time and again she has been disappointed ... but somewhere that slender tendril of hope persisted ... today he killed it for good ...

Loved his flashbacks as he waits for her to return ... knowing that he has burst the dam ... finally remembering her Holi confession (Ayesha, that was one powerful shiddat!) ... and hoping in his turn that she will come back and lay to rest the demons that he has been living with the last three months ...

Loved the complete shock and disbelief in his face as she acts completely normal ... the Khushi mask firmly in place in front of her family ... I did NOT expect that one at all ...
Garima picks up on her slightly as she asks Khushi, aren't you chehkoing just a wee bit more than usual today?

And the last car scene ... superb ... SaRun rocked it ... after ages, Sanaya had the audience's sympathy, Khushi had the killer dialogues, and even with a sore throat, she nailed them ... as usual!

  4. Dia, correct me if I am wrong, this is the first time we have had more than 200 comments for a weekday episode and now a separate post too, wah wah!!

    Congratulations bey*Hugs*

Looooooved your post especially the bit about bitwa spoiling for a fight, then it clicked me this car journey is exactly as the car ride on diwali night.

He has trampled her, she is hiding the pain being all cheery and it infuriates him further, he keeps provoking her but she doesn't take the bait, till the last moment when her pallu gets stuck and she breaks down.

    This time She EXPLODES!

Hey Cheng and I saw many new friends on the blog yesterday, welcome everyone.

    3. Shweths, I saw a lot of compare/contrast between this car ride and the Diwali car ride ... in both, he is spoiling for a fight, he is desperate to get her to crack. There he did see her hurt and her pain, he knew he had caused it, without really meaning to, in self-defence, and he went after her to try and make up somehow, and then was baffled to see her all chirpy and having apparently forgotten what was for him an earth-shaking event.

But here he walked away from the terrace without seeing the worst of her hurt, it wasn't about hurting her, it was about letting go of his own demons, getting it all off his chest .. and as usual, she is his punching bag. He basically told her everything HE had gone through that night ... and only later standing on the porch, with that big load off his chest, does he FINALLY start to think about all the other things he has seen with her. And start to realise there could be another side to the picture ...

So this blasting at her was necessary for HIM ... it had been building up inside him, because he had tried repeatedly to bury it inside, in spite of her digging away at him ... when he let go, he let everything out. Like the draining of an abscess which has been festering inside ... one has to let all the poison drain out then only can it start to heal. And that's just what he did ... and she had to swallow the poison as usual. But this will finally allow his thinking process to start ... till now, he refused to allow himself to think about it at all ... it was a mental block.

    4. wow Dia....your point about the festering abscess and the poison is perfect.....he did need to do this, to heal.....its the same way he festering his mother's death wound...not letting that heal, cause no-one is allowed to touch it.......

  5. Re-pasting one comment among the many that did not get pasted..(thanks Dia for the new link) congrats...

While watching the epi again, i must put forth here the "chekoing" Khushi, while palatable, given who she is....think the CVs missed one thing in their intention to shock the viewers....attention to detail.

if u contrast this with her diwali behaviour, we saw an introspective or deep in shock khushi while she dealt with everyone at RM and then her walk in solitude back to GH. It was only then in her car ride that she becomes the chirpy Khushi....
I feel they could have focused on Khushi's reactions for a frame or two before the onslaught at GH portico..i don't what they could have done....becos somehow the scenes on re-watch looked very artificial for Khushi, almost turning her into a fake person..which is one thing she is not.....i may be wrong here but this is what i felt....

    1. Rekha, coincidentally, my mom was re-watching the Diwali episodes, and we noticed the same thing.

I have two explanations - if you notice the background music, it's all about Arnav's befuddlement at her reaction, so I think they purposely kept her reactions that way, and didn't focus on her pain at all. It was geared to show her only from Arnav's point of view. And it was kept that way to make Khushi's subsequent outburst more dramatic, to highlight the contrast between what she shows and what she really feels. Though of course, it was being unfair to Khushi's emotions as usual ... they could have prolonged the terrace scene a while longer, and also shown her walking back in a daze and pulling herself together just as she reaches home.

The second explanation - lack of time - they have to rush through the scenes before Barun leaves, and the majority of his scenes are with her, so she has to be there for his shoot ... the reverse doesn't hold true so much, as Khushi interacts with everyone in the families, while Arnav's interactions are mainly with her.

    2. Absolutely Dia...i do feel...somehow ODG gets this treatment and becos SI is able to pull it off...it doesn't take away from the final effect in a big way...IPK is lucky to have Sanaya and Barun..

Perhaps, as u rightly said, they may have wanted to re-inforce this befuddlement aspect from ODB's POV....and kind of surprise element for the viewer...

  8. Dia and everyone else, A big Congratulations on breaking the blogger limit on comments! And a big welcome to all the new friends. A big Thank you to all of you.

IPKKND is a very good show, however this blog is what makes it complete! I think that the comments and analysis on this blog are superb....The involvement in the show would not be the same without this blog! The international audience laps up these comments, and this blog contributes greatly to the success of the show, as evidenced by the number of recent new members.
I hope the CVs/Gul are listening and reading what goes on here!

    Love you all!
