29/2 - Epi 198 ... RTR - Adding the Mileage

29th Feb Wed

Arnav bitwa felt bad at Buaji's words - A few miles taken off the RTR.
He didn't say or do a damn thing - neither to her nor to Manodrama who was on full steam - those miles just got added back.
He dumped Khushi on the road again, with a completely unnecessary jerk of brakes - a hundred miles added.
He said - Get out - a thousand miles added.
He remembered the flashbacks of himself with Khushi - Diya hopeful :)  Bitwa's brainwa is returning - hundred miles taken off.
He threw the bangle out the car window - Diya's hopes crushed :(  Bitwa's brainwa took the scenic route back, now touring Greece and Cypriot islands - another thousand added.

I liked today better than yesterday - far more in synch ... Sanaya almost made me tear up a few times, especially when Khushi was sitting and sobbing quietly at the poolside, and Arnav redeemed a few more miles there as he stared at her helplessly. He was ready and willing to obey Di's order without any fuss at all ... it was what he wanted to do.
Liked the car drive, the exchange of looks, ... Khushi still searching for answers ... Arnav trying to stay impassive, but affected despite himself ... both trying to find even ground after the huge emotional breakdown on Monday - am going to pretend Tuesday never happened.
Loved the way the sound of Khushi's bangles was affecting Arnav again in the car.

Khushi found a new friend, Lakshmi ... can I say, as an ardent dog-lover and pet lover - good choice, Lakshmi won't ever let her down. How I wish the Raizadas had a beautiful Retreiver or a Lab as a pet - it would cheer up Khushi no end.
NK is back ... :) ... and so is RS :( ... but RS seems to be biding his time for now.

Will the ultimatum come tomorrow or on Friday as the last scene?

*Edited*
Khushi got new clothes - hurrah! But how? Please explain - are they borrowed or her own? Did her husband wake up to her wardrobe-less state when she borrowed his shirt, or did Anjali do the needful? Or is this one of those unexplained miracles, like how the Guptas were able to afford fancy new clothes for all the wedding functions?
Anyway, good to see her not struggling to find something to wear, and not being handed out her daily dress ... so that was the first plus point today :)

I thought Payal had decided she couldn't stay mad at Khushi any more? Then why the nakhras? But loved the way Khushi just doesn't give up - liked the sisters' scene, as Khushi tries to get back to teasing and bullying Payal to talk, realizes Payal is still too angry, and then goes on to cajoling her, puts kala tika, and goes off into her usual bak bak, feels hurt as Payal doesn't respond, and then her tearful, hopeful joy as Payal finally gives in ... 'phir humein bhi kajal laga do na, jiji' ...

And Payal is as tenacious as Khushi, she also won't give up trying to find out why Khushi did this, so no unqualified forgiveness, but again - you hurt your parents, you know that, don't you ... again the plea for Khushi's confidence ... why did you do this? And why can't you tell me ...
But of course Khushi can't ... and Payal is not mollified ...

So Khushi finds her new friend, Lakshmi ... being an animal lover, I am not upset at all at this one ... animals and their unconditional love and acceptance can be so comforting ... and animals are great judges of character! So Khushi gets her spirit back ... I will not give up till everyone forgives me ... nice to see the fighting Khushi back, who just never gives up - second plus point for today, third if you count her new best friend :)

Buaji arrives to take Payal for pag phera - NK is back, and as usual, he's on the ball - how are Khushi's parents now? Buaji doesn't want to talk about Khush, but she can't be openly rude to NK, so she just looks non-committal. Mami arrives with gifts and taunts ... gifts ke saath, ek taunt muft ... as usual, she puts her finger on the facts - yeah right, we get to keep the girl, you can happily wash your hands off her ... her words were crude, but the truth - is it so easy to wash your hands off your child when they make mistakes? And as Nani points out, well, the mistake is done, now we have to accept it and move on ... but Buaji is not willing.

I think this scene was put in just to add to the Khushi torture ratio, and make Arnav drop Khushi ... otherwise it was singularly graceless of Buaji to pick up one daughter and not the other, especially when told in so many words by the in-laws.
And why can't Nani ever shut up Mami when she gets too much? Just looking down in embarrassment is not good enough. Good for NK that he spoke up ...

Khushi appears ... again Buaji's first reaction is pleasure ... before she damps it down sternly ... and Mami loses to time in throwing in another taunt ... aren't you taking her as well?
Khushi runs to get ready, all excited about going home, and manaoing her family ... or trying to ...

Arnav comes in and greets Buaji hesitantly, again pangs of guilt rising, he has wronged the entire Gupta family too, not just the Raizada family ... Buaji is forced to respond ...
The Guptas were nowhere as close to Arnav as Nanai and Anjali were to Khushi, hence they can't say a word of censure to him ... their entire wrath falls only on Khushi. Plus he's the damaad's older brother and the head of his family, not just the older damaad. While Khushi gets it from both sides ... unfair but again, understandable.
So Buaji wants to leave with Payal alone ... Nani is shocked, so are Akash and NK, ... and Arnav. He can't believe this ... Hearing Khushi say that she got orphaned again is different from actually seeing it happening in front of his eyes ... Nani tries to reason with Buaji, but Buaji is adamant ... she's not a part of our family now.
As Mami put it ... Waah! So you're so happy to abandon her so easily?! Throw her out so quickly ...

And Arnav is finally appalled at something he's done ... and how badly Khushi has been affected ... again, how can he still think a girl who is so close to her family, for whom family means everything, could ever be a homebreaker? And whose family has such strict principles that an elopement between two consenting adults is a crime ... when Khushi is so upset at her family's upset at this supposed crime, would she ever risk committing an even bigger crime of getting involved with a married man? Think, Arnav DB ... for heavens' sake, start thinking ...

Buaji starts to leave with Payal, Payal darts a quick look up, hoping to see Khushi coming, because Buaji won't be able to leave her if she sees her - is Khushi coming?

But she doesn't ... and Buaji and Payal leave ... just as Khushi comes hurtling down the stairs, brushing past Arnav, not even seeing him ... and her crushing disappointment as she sees that Buaji has actually left her and gone ... as Mami gleefully points out. (also, Buaji apparently brought Khushi's clothes, so Khushi's wardrobe problem solved for the time being ... cheapskate Raizadas!).
Nani and NK feel bad for Khushi, really bad, as they see the young girl's disappointment and her tears ... and Arnav too.
And Khushi goes back slowly up the stairs, trying to take in the shock, so upset and shattered that she again doesn't even look at Arnav as she passes him, not even to give him an accusatory look ... she doesn't care about him or anyone else right now ... she wanted so desperately to go home, to see her parents, get a chance to talk to them, cajole them, even get scolded by them ... but get out of this nightmare for just a little while ... and she can't ... she can't go home ...
And she sits and cries quietly to herself at the poolside ... while Arnav looks at her, and feels her pain ... yes, he does, but this is what he wanted, isn't it? He wanted to hurt her for betraying him ... but her tears still hurt him, her pain still bothers him, even though he doesn't want it to ...

RS and RB return, Anjali all happy about her sonography and the baby ... she has to be the densest creature on the planet if she can't sense RS's complete disinterest and lack of excitement!
Anjali appalled that Buaji left Khushi behind, and that Nani allowed it ... Shyam twitches his face some and then some more ... he needs some new expressions, cannot figure out whether he's happy, sad or upset.

Anjali goes to tackle Chotey ... as Khushi hears her voice, she wipes her tears quickly, while Arnav looks at her frantically ... what if Anjali sees her crying? His cover story will be blown ... fortunately for him, Khushi is smarter, she wipes her tears and comes in even as Anjali's eyes search the room for her ...
Anjali might be a dimwit but she has gathered that Arnav and Khushi are not exactly the epitome of a happily married "we're so madly in love that we couldn't wait to get married" couple ... so she merely tells Arnav ... take Khushi home for her pag phera. Khushi looks at her with a mixture of hope and apprehension ... but Anjali is firm ... don't you want to go home and meet your family? Or are you happy with the situation the way it is?
Of course she isn't ... whether or not Anjali overheard her conversation with Devi Maiyya or not, Anjali is being the most sensible and empathetic of the whole lot right now - this situation cannot continue this way ... plus she actually has the power to pull some strings.
So Chotey agrees ... he didn't have much choice ... plus I think it was what he wanted to do, ever since he saw Buaji leave without Khushi, and her upset ... this was one order he was glad to obey.
I liked the way Khushi barely looked at him all through ... right now, seeing her family again was the only thing on her mind ... her gratitude to Anjali and the briefest of looks at Arnav, only to check, was he agreeing?

A silent car drive, punctuated only by the sound of her bangles, as she puts the packages away, belts herself in ... and then looks up to find him looking at her hands ... her bangles ...
And her gaze is arrested ... why is he looking at her like that? As he drives, she continues to look at hi, search his face, still not giving up, still looking for answers ... their eyes meet briefly, then he looks away, scared of the questions in her eyes ....but she doesn't ... doesn't stop questioning, her eyes fixed on his face ...

Okay, really what was the need for that jerking of brakes, the Get Out, you can walk the rest of the way ... fight your demons yourself, don't use her as ammunition ... RTR - plus thousand miles ...

And as he drives away, they both have flashbacks ... of bangles ... different bangles ... he bought her bangles ... he took out the broken piece from her wrist ... did you buy them for me? ... and the last, most painful question ... why did you buy them for me?
Because he loved her, and he couldn't tell her ... and now he can't ... he can't tell her, and he can't love her ... he shouldn't love her ... but he does ...
And he doesn't want to ... he won't ... he rolls down the window and throws out the broken piece of bangle ... this is one memory he doesn't want to keep ...

Why I liked the episode ...
- No forced fake romance - it just didn't work for me yesterday.
- No forced comedy, no klutzy Khushi. When Khushi is shown as being brainless or her character is distorted, it spoils the episode for me, I'd much rather see Arnav brainless!
- Buaji's reactions - harsh but still true to life - my uncle eloped many years ago and married against the family's wishes, and it took his father and siblings seven years to come round. It's barely been two days in IPK land ...
- Anjali being tough ... and Arnav not arguing or even wanting to.
- Arnav feeling the guilt more and more ... but remember, he still thinks Khushi is planning to break up his Di's marriage ... so the fact that he's furious with himself for still caring for her is a plus. Much better than the 'let's pretend we're happily married in front of Mami and I'll shove you away as soon as Mami isn't looking' ... now that was despicable! I'd rather he fought his battles with himself, rather than make Khushi the scapegoat, she has enough to contend with in all the rest.
- Arnav's flashbacks about the bangles ... it was a start, at least he started to think about the time he felt that Khushi loved him and he loved her ... the good memories ...
- Khushi finding a new friend ... hey, Lakshmi works very well for me :) ... though like I said, if only the Raizadas had a Golden Retriever or a Lab ... or a cocker spaniel ...

My guess -
Tonight will be Gupta family drama ... maybe with some RS/RB scenes ... NK's farewell? :(
Friday night will be the ArHi confrontation at the temple ... leaving us on tenterhooks over the weekend.

Girls, I leave for Delhi in a little while, so will be offline till later tonight - will make tonight's post around 11-11.30 India time ...

  1. Okay first of can I feel happy!? I said na she’ll go do bak bak with Laxmi...total yay moment for me:-p

Felt like a filler episode especially for a Wednesday...The car ride was good though...

Before getting to Arhi can I just say I’m loving the new in-charge, no nonsense Anjali.

The car ride was so great as all Arhi car rides are...usually the tension is palpable and even today the car ride where all he said was ‘get out!’ there were so many unspoken words and emotions, always wanting each other and always driving each other away...today the tension was palpable again but also the anger and mutual resentment...no Arhi magic...got to hand it to them they can switch off and on so realistically...

Loved the moment he hits the breaks and she breaks her bangles, for a second she looks at him expectantly...remembering the last time she was in this car, with him and her bangles broke... She's wondering what changed so much in barely 72 hours that he’s gone from caring so much for her to such indifference-no not indifference hatred...

And Arnav...as I said yesterday feel worse for him...he can’t see her in pain...he can’t stand others hurting her but he has to stand strong, not let it affect him...And his flashbacks, how happy she was wearing the bangles he got her, how she made him tell her...he really thought she felt the same way...all lie. Every intimate moment with her was a lie...Deceit of the worst kind.

Loved the symbolism of the last scene...He’s still holding onto her inspite of the pain and heartbreak...he just can’t seem to let her go...and finally finally he lets go, throws the bangle out...(kicks her out onto the street-literally and metaphorically) and puts up the window both to the world and her...

    1. Anjali...I hope she continues this way and now that she can stop worrying about arnav, khushi is there starts concentrating on shyam and his lack of enthusiasm regarding the baby.

I did feel bad for Arnav, he knows it is his fault...atleast to that extent he has a conscience and more worried about him when he realizes what he has done.

The bangle scene, woh bhi kya din they na, sigh.

    2. Shwetha,
Guess they got fed up of you calling DB and iddiot for letting her sleep out. Isliye seedhe eveningwa se next morningwa..I heard you go WT WT WT Where did he sleep? Where did she sleep? when the epi started :)
And yes you have said that and more on clothes too in your comment I see.
They will show the blackmail as precap today or towards the end of day today. Expect some RS twitching scenes today yeww! Tomorrow they will leave us with a cliff hanger - will he find her or won't he?

      Gargi,
@ Last scene symbolism: yes, holding on despite the pain and heartbreak. But he has only thrown a piece out.
But there was another piece on her seat. However much he tries to forget her, she will always find a way back to him? First time a piece of her bangle was left behind on his seat was after he dropped her home from the guest house. At that time, he hurt her and she fought back. He thought she was a gold digger yet could not help begin to get infatuated by her. Will history repeat?
@DB when he knows the truth - Total break down. He will have to live with the truth of haing ruined DG's life. And deal with having become though inadvertently just like his father.

    3. You heard me, I didn't realize my voice carried that far, lol. I actually said it aloud, WT, it is morning, sachchi.

I want the gupta drama to be over in 1ST PART, Second has him reaching the mandir and the warning begins. So that Friday he can wait for her, get restless and realize she is not coming home.

And the Search and bring her home mission begins.

Oh btw, do you remember I had even given a timeline of how she will go missing and how he will find her at the end of tueday epi end, lol.

    4. Seriously, are you a cv??? Just watched the Thursday episode and it happened almost exactly the way you said! Gupta theatrics over and done with in the first half, now get to action ... although action mainly involved Delhi darshan today - I think my prediction of Friday cliffhanger will come true!

Unless your shiddat works, and ODG faints into DB's arms ... voh bhi chalega ... daudega :)

  3. Yes Gargi and Dia, as an episode, I felt it was defi better than yesterday….focus back to the leads...the tension/awkwardness whatever u may call it, was evident in the car scene. I am not sure of the english equivalent of the word "kashmakash" but that is how i would describe in one word Arnav's feelings. Juxtapose the pre wedding and post MU scenarios and probably we will find some acceptance of his actions of rolling down that window and throwing that bangle out. Gargi, u expressed that beautifully!!
In my POV, Arnav will not analyse anything in this state of mind, as he sees her betrayal as the single most important factor for the current state of affairs.
He needs to make peace with one situation soon; that of his attraction to her; even if he accepts to himself that he can't help his feelings for her, it will be one big step in the way this story moves forward. Well he wouldn’t be the first lover in history to have loved a “bewafa” .
I would want him to accept his love for her, however unpalatable it is for him, before he discovers that she is innocent. That is the true definition of the phrase, mohabbat door jane na de, nafrat paas aane na de!! Baad mein accept kiya toh kya accept kiya??

    1. Rekha aptly put, he will not think now, there is too much drama happening in his home now - from his family, from her family from outsiders and Shyam is constantly in his face. The guy seriously needs some time out to sit and think and introspect.

And I think when she goes missing he will make peace with that feeling that whatever happens he can never hate her whatever he thinks she has done.

      Delete
    2. Rekha, agree with you wholeheartedly on that one - he has to realize that he loves her come what may, before her innocence is established. In fact, it should be the other way around, he knows he loves her, and he starts questioning because of that ... can the girl I fell in love with, actually do what I think, and what Vile Creepwa says she did?

      Delete
    3. I think this is the twist the cv's were talking about.......that he starts trusting her before her innocence is proved, but then it won't add drama to it...... if he keeps hating her and then suddenly he gets the proof of her innocence, adds more to the drama of a daily soap......though i don't want the hatred to continue, most PH wud take this route, isnt it ......

      Delete
    4. You know Rekha what I like about the scenario you spoke about is that they can take the track forward and at the same time stretch the story without making the audience feel like we've been asked to put Arhi on hold.

Geetanjali I think the that whenever the MU is cleared we will have high drama irrespective of what the Arhi equation is so hopefully that won't deter the PH.

      Delete
    5. Rekha,

      Kashmakash is so apt.

Aur sahi kaha. He should tell himself that yes he loves her even if she is a bewafa. Bad main accept kiya toh utna majaa nahi aayaga. And like u say, it will justify that tagline too.

Misunderstanding will not go away so soon. What use if they created so much hungaama in the first place for it. Uneasy and unwilling truce - an acceptance of the current situation seems to make sense. After all they need to act all happily married and u cannot always have MB playing cupid.

So they say theek hai - stuck with each other for 6 months, di si pregnant and cannot excite her. so we will at least not fight but no getting lovey dovey unless needed.

But how will he handle things when he finds her after that blackmail of spill all or else I do not come back? I don't want Khushi to go back again because of a threat. And I don't expect Arnav to spill his reasons to her just yet - he still sees her as deceitful and does not trust her.

  4. Dia and Gargi,

I wasn’t quite in a mood to post today but changed my mind last minute.
Dia – Very seldom , I find myself not on the same page with you. Today is one of those days.
I wasn’t impressed by today’s episode at all. There were a couple of nice touches which I’ll talk about in a minute. But my main issue with IPK creative team right now is why are they dragging this so much? It is almost 3 weeks that Arnav found out about Shyam and Khushi, right? Not to mention that the whole wedding preparations started sometime mid January. The Teri Meri dance happened on 23rd January. Why can’t we move on and start showing post wedding life of Arhi in RM? Why waste a whole week on some 18th century ‘rasams’? I do understand that rasams are very important during weddings in India but do we have to go through each and every one of them as part of a tv serial? So many ‘whys’ but no answers for me.

The reaction of Guptas towards Khushi was completely OTT and done oly for the sake of TRPs? Which parents in their right frame of mind admonish their child in front of her in-laws? I alwys knew in my mind that the Raizadas would be more tolerant towards Khushi than the Guptas. In spite of their short-comings, the Raizadas do have class and do not resort to cheap drama (except Mamiji ☺ ) My heart went out to Khushi, I was having trouble watching the scenes. Like you, I teared up several times.

I don’t know about RTR for ASR towards Khushi, he has beyond redemption for me. All his reactions and emotions are so repetitive. All this guy can do is sit and brood all day? Where is the action , my boy ? Give me a break!! And the only reason he agrees to take Khushi to the Gupta home is because his Di asks him to? Why does he think by being nice to her is equal to confession of his love towards her? I’m so done with him .

The drive was good but only Khushi. All our boy did was brood , brood and brood. And finally ‘Get Out’? That was my limit and I decided to close my laptop.

I love Barun and Sanaya and it is very sad that they are being victims of a so non creative team .

I don’t really care about how ASR reacts when he loses Khushi and how he tries to make up for it. I find all that very fake.

Let’s see what we get from the CVs the next two days. The ever optimistic in me is not giving up.

My apologies again, for my –ve rant!!

    Thoughts??

    1. Sahana rasams are for the saas bahu crowd and they are also the push that Arnav needs to see how his one decision has badly affected his family her family and him and her.

And abhaas out with illness they had no way but to drag this. But seriously they are also highlighting some valid issues here, how a runaway marriage can tear apart families, how rash decisions and judgements can destroy your life.

I still maintain, it is still not as bad as it is in other serials and they are taking this as cinematic logically they can.

    2. Sahana,

awww *hugs* ... cheer up ... and rant away ... this is the place for it!!! :)))

Seriously, I do agree they are dragging things ... but runaway marriages do tear families apart, I have seen it happen, see my note above ... so I actually still find the families' reactions within limits and not OTT.

Girls, I need to run ... will be online later tonight ... and look forward to reading all your discussions. I don't have much hope from tonight's episode, things will move only tomorrow ... the week is over already???!!!

    3. Shwetha / Dia,

Agree bey! They need the drama, sobs and rasams for a segment of the audience. Plus didn't Gautam Hegde state somewhere that its usually always from the girl's POV. Guess that is because we are analytically complex creatures - e.g. comments on IPK in R&R :)

Elopements do affect families. Here they will resolve it in days but in reality it takes years and sometimes never. They are trying to be logical yet pander to drama and hence the fluctuations.

Plus, you mentioned Abhaas being sick and away. That could be a reason for dragging episodes. The way the stage was set last week, to move forward, RS needs to make a move or interfere for the next confrontation to happen.

RS Move 1: Said he loves DG and Anji is an obstacle
DB Move 1: Marry DG and wan off RS
RS Move 2: Influence Anji to not accept DG as bahu
DB Move 2: Complete rasams and ensure DG's acceptance as bahu
RS Move 3: -?? Try and hurt Arnav?

Week is nearly over. Just enough time for some more drama, some blackmailing and a cliffhanger. But next week better have some lights flickering and some brain engines beginning to kick start. High time Khushi starts pushing and Arnav's dimaag comes home from that vacation to the FR...Enough! Samjhe Tum!

    4. Hey Sahana...I get it...I honestly can't quite understand the need for all these rasams...I liked the grihapravesh and I know that happens...

But the none of the weddings I've attended have had munh dikhai-such an antiquated rasam! but the cv's wanted to show Arnav's public declaration and needed some platform of a public rasam...

The pag phera's once again to establish just how unforgiving the Gupta's are being...

But as for Arhi...Don't give up Sahana!!...Honestly I feel that they're showing the Arhi equation really well...the hard part comes now how to take it forward...and I must say I totally agree with Rekha...I was just thinking last night that by the time we reach the ME even if the Misunderstanding from both their sides is not cleared they should show a truce of sorts and from thereon show how Arhi despite their better judgement are just not able to let each other go and still stand by each other even if on the surface they don't tell one another...

    5. Gargs,

Agree with you on muh dikhaayi and pug pheras. More to attempt and create a situation to show certain reactions.

Kal ka scene on buaji's disownign of Khushi was quite sad, some perceived as OTT but needed to tell Raizada family and repeat to Arnav just how much Khushi has lost. That she could not have sleep walked into this shot gun marriage without a bhari bharkam reason.

    6. With abhaas back he did look very tired yesterday, next week will be better and drama is needed whether we like it or not, atleast the mindless comedy is not there and all the drama is adding to bitwa's guilt, so theek hai.

      Delete
  5. Dia...Really waiting for your take:)

Wrote this last nite, so here goes:

    Where did they sleep?

Didn't Manodrama do her night shift spying?

Who gave Khushi new saree and jewels.

Why Payal didn't finish making the tea, poor akash.

Bua comes to take Payal only. Okay have to admit though Mami's dialogues stung, they were the truth weren't they?

Wah Wah, Bitwa saying Namastay to Bua for the first time and she reluctantly responding.

Buaji, he might be Gupta's Junior Jamaai, but you do know right he is Payal's Jeth too, atleast uss angle may toh thoda baat karo ussay.

NK....Always Khushi supporter, love ya gonna miss ya.

Bua is so cool towards NK, lagta hai she knows he is going to go away soon, lol.

Khushi's new friend indeed is Laxmi...seriously how sad is that.

I am glad Bitwa heard everything on the Gupta's stance regarding Khushi and felt Guilty.

Ya accumulate the Guilt bitwa, teray bahut kaam aayega baad main.

RB & RS back..like we care.

Di says jao chod aayo, bitwa saying ofcourse di.

Till then had no intention of consoling her did you, IDIOT.

So Bua brought Khushi's dresses, Bitwa just added a few hundred miles on your RTRW.

Car ride happened, their quietest car ride ever. Earlier it used to be fighting, scheming, him talking, her talking, this time only silence.

Bitwa ko chudiyon ki awaz khanakti hai aur khatakti hai.

COWARD, should have dropped her home, GO and pick her up from her home and I will think of minusing some miles or else will add couple of hundreds more.

So tomorrow Gupta house drama, khushi leaving the house, arnav tapkofying to pick her up....just hope Shyam does not find her first.

    Yeah, MEH episode alright.

Is that a new white shirt and suit for Arnav?

note: If all the rasams are over, and Abhaas seems to have recovered can we get back to Arnav vs shyam and Arhi plzzzzzzzzzz.

    2. Shweths you and your sleeping arrangements! hahaha...right now bitya is still camping pool ke bagalwa...I'm telling you bemausam baarish is our only hope now!!

Also I liked ASR's suit today!! hope he's in this suit for a couple of episodes at least!...Also did not like Khushi's sari...and that horrid gold choker...I want to see her in Teej type sari's and no pom poms on the side of her blouses...and no puffy sleeves...why cant she have fitted short sleeved blouses!! I liked the lemon yellow sari...nice pastel shades like that and some bright colours like her emerald green suit and of course lots of pretty red sari's...

Bitya unfortunately needs all the help she can get in that department and maybe ODB will spare her a second glance in a red sari and his brain may either switch off completely (MIG**) or switch on (return flight to Delhi International Airport taking off)...Either would be fine with me though I think switching off would be 'funner'...;-)

    3. Geetu, I know bitwa goes searching for her, shyam is already there and bitwa thinks she called him, yikes.

Gargi: Bitwa got himself a new suit, looked good yummy yesterday. Bitiya ke liye kab shopping karega?

    4. @ Gargi, I agree completely! ASR should have gorgeous gals on his arm, a la La's strapless brown gown (remember?) so khushi should wear wow! Teej type saris. Not the behenji type red sari she was wearing in the latest episode. ODG needs a wardrobe update.

  6. @Sahana,

I so agree with you - very rarely do i feel Dia and I dont see eye to eye - but try as i will, i can't like where this is going - i feel the CVs are killing it with the slow pace - if they are going to win over one person per 3 episodes - it will take forever for he story to move forward!! - ODB just broods and broods and does Zilch!! well actually i can still understand that - he is the ASR of old - Again!! but why does Khushi not talk, question pester him??? and Anjali - she knows nothing - she is still the besotted dimwit except that she is hurt because her chotay actually had the nerve to do something without asking her (so what if he did what she wanted him t do!!)
the only thing going for me is this blog - i was so disappointed last night that i felt i cant watch another episode till you guys say its worth it (but my stupid obsession will probably get me right back on to the screen - well will give them till the weekend to pick up the story :))

  7. @Shwetha,

yes this troubles me as well - till yesterday ODG had no clothes, (also forgot the bag she got with her for the weding day and the orange suit she had!) now she has a new (but bad) saree with a perfectly stitched blouse (with the characteristic Khusi flower on the sleeve!) and matching bangles and (ugly) but matching jewelry!!!
why is no one paying attention to her needs - why is she not asking for her things - toothbrush, clothes, makeup etc etc... everyone is so worried about the rasams but cant spare a thought to how she is managing??? And why did Manorama Bond not check in at night??? and how do days just change without any explanations?? either they have a day in Narnia or just the opposite!!

sorry ladies - you can see i am disappointing! I keep telling myself - this is fiction - cant dictate my moods but it kind of does!

    2. Sahana, we all HAVE a life, it is just a good excuse to get away from it from time to time, lol.

Mona: Day in narnia..I know right, I think yesterday would be the last day she would have slept outside. After she goes missing, bitwa will not let her out of his sight.

Mona: They were waiting for Abhaas I think to get well, to kickstart the next track.

    3. Aww Mona cheer up! It takes a while to build up a track I guess...and I agree with you some scenes were total misses but then some were really great too...Give it time...

    5. Aaaww, thanks ladies - you do make me feel better :) yes it is the pace but more than that, i cant stand it if such strong characters are all of a sudden tampered with - what i loved about Khushi was her power to fight back - get scared, tremble in front of ASR but never never shut up!! and now she is just not speaking - and before you say that they are building the tension and she is asking - but its in bits and pieces - i just hope she asks him more directly openly instead of accepting sleeping out in the open, saving him from his family but suffering on her own - i know it will change, i just hope they don't take too long to do it.

Also hope ASR starts to SEE - i understand that ASR is back and with a vengeance (because he is hurt, more than he ever though possible - he let his guard down and wham! it happened, people cheated him!!!!) BUT he is supposed to be super intelligent, smart, sharp - the builder of his own destiny - now that his blinding rage is under control, please CVs let him have his brains back! (don't remember who said this but someone here said there could be a kidnapping in the future - i feel they have already done that - ASR's brain has gone missing!!!)

    6. Mona after Marriage I see Khushi is growing stronger only, her determination not to give up is a proof of that.

It is easy to be clinical about business, contrary to his claims he is highly emotional when it comes to his Di and now Khushi and it has been 4 days since the marriage.

Shyam is constantly at his face, he is having so much drama to deal with, not an excuse but he needs a time out or atleast a wake up call.

That wake up call will be khushi not returning home. Can you guys believe I am actually looking forward more to the tagline than the actual epi?

      Delete
    7. Shweths,

Taglines will keep our minds whirring thru the weekend. ydays was apparently "will Payal forgive Khushi". This one about arnav being able to find her in the light of the blackmail promo is fun. Kitna ho sakhtha hai na..

Khushi not returning home will trigger something. I want him to think back about the time when she went missing for a short while after the Shyam expose. I guess it is the madir connection in both. Temple can either be the wedding waal ya bandagement waala. One of us once wished it should be the rakhiwala DM ka bada mandir. Are all these the same? Oh well. DM resides in all of them :)

I want him to hink about "Main kabhi bhi kuch bhi jaanke nahi karta Khushi" - (yes HAA and pigs shall fly....hrmph)

Dont want him to think of the recent accident cos then he will recall kyun farak padhtha hai and DB's brain will halt at all possible airports on way back to Delhi.

      Delete
    8. Hehehe...don't worry Sandy someday even pigs will fly in IPKKND land...we've already compared it to HP, LOTR, Narnia and for you and the flying [igs we'll add in a splash of Dr. Suess;-)

As for the the tagline...Shweths, Sandy...Khushi should just call Arnav's bluff! At that time he had the power to stop the wedding agreed...but now she's married...Akash, Mamaji, Nani and Di aren't just going to let him pack her off at his whims and fancies...and Khushi should realise that his trump card isn't that powerful anymore and just call his bluff so that there is a little more equality in their equation right now...oh well...8p.m. approaches...

Hope its not only a G family and torture and taunt Khushi episode...yeesh...

  8. Well, they showed Arnav look guilty when Bua washed her hands off Khushi. They showed his heart go out for Khushi while she cried near the poolside. They showed us his pain seeing the broken piece of bangle on the car seat and remember all the moments he spent with her, agonising over her pain and smiling over her happiness. Yet the episode did not sit well with many. Why?

To me it seemed simply because they showed Arnav having a one track mind which cannot think beyond the obvious.

Yes, he saw her being hugged tight by that creep but did he also see her hug him back?

Yes, he heard her say, "Why don't you leave your wife if you don't love her.". Big deal.

Arnav, did you not also say more or less the same thing when you found out the truth about your shameless and vile bro-in-law? So you put two and two and got twenty two. Your stupidity can be pardoned because your famed dimaag takes a hike every time you lose your temper but five nights have passed since that fateful terrace encounter. In the meantime you had witnessed your 'wife' being subjected to all types of humiliation and torture from you and both your families. Still your dimaag ka batti refuses to light. Don't you realise by now how much it is breaking her to see her family shun her like this? She is feeling so much heat for 'marrying' a perfectly eligible millionaire bachelor.

Isn't it strange that you would presume she is after a married man (that too the husband of their dear Payalia's sister-in-law) and wanted him to break up with his wife so that they can get married? If she did as you think she intended to do, would the same family not kill her first? Is she so dumb or immoral to have risked her sister's married life for that penniless creep? If she was, why would she meekly agree to your preposterous proposal to be your fixed term 'bride' when she has nothing to gain but everything to lose in this arrangement? If you had not threatened to break her sister's marriage would she have gone against her conscience and married you? So if she can go that far for her sister, would she have then let that sister suffer at the hands of her in-laws once she has ruined her sister-in-law's life?

Coming to your own sister, you believe that this woman was out to ruin her marital bliss? If so would she have cared to hide her pain at being rejected by her family when Anjali came in asking for her? Your fear at being caught was written all over your face. Yet your woman did not let in on the bitter truth of your (non) marriage. Instead she hurriedly wipes her tears and tries to look normal in front of her. Yeah, this is the way any heartless home breaker would behave.

She could have easily escaped the torture at the hands of your family and hers if only she had opened her mouth to tell them that she was forced into this marriage because her sister's marriage was held hostage to her reluctant decision. That would have won her a whole lot of sympathy and the guns would have all been trained on you. Yet, you seem to have immense faith in her ability to silently suffer than betray you even while you continue to hold her responsible for planning to ruin your sister's life. Doesn't it appear to be a huge contradiction in your way of thinking? Oh, yes, you do not think. You only act when not required.

    1. Hey dunno your name, but the last line you nailed it, You do not think , act when not required and let me add..say the wrong things at the wrong time.

    2. totally agree with you anon.....sorry dont know your name.......I have the same questions for Arnav..........

also, didnt like last nites episode......whatever points he earned during Buaji's drama......he lost it all when he sipped coffee non-chalantly when Khushi was crying...and he lost some more when he made khushi realize that Anjali has come, so she better stop crying......and he lost more when he asked her to get out and walk down till the house.....and for the bangle thing, there were no points left to loose.....

      Delete
    3. The problem is anonymous that both Khushi and Arnav have an unbelievable need to burden their respective families problems...And both are expected to by their respective families...

As far as Arnav and his dimaag go I don't fully agree with you. What he saw on the terrace looked really bad. And the hug did not look like she was tying to break away. It came across as a lover's quarrel where the married guy is trying to mollify 'the other woman' 'I love you not her!'-'Then leave her!'.

Yes Arnav also wanted the same thing but its all about context. He doesn't know that its the same reason Khushi said it. And also its not about believing shyaam...its about two and two adding up...He sees the terrace scene and then his BIL declares his undying love for Khushi...COME ON why is he going to think...oh let me just check with Khushi in case she isn't actually trying to ruin my Di's life and convince my BIL to run off with her. Try and think of her as he sees her...not the victim but the antagonist...

The flaw I found was that Khushi did not go and talk to her family about it...but we've seen in the past too just how resourceful the Gupta's are...they do nothing but sit around and cry and let Khushi fix the problems...and somwhere she knows that- so she did..

And so did he...Shyaam said Anjali was the obstacle...so at great personal cost Arnav made himself the obstacle...for 6 months till his Di is pregnant and fragile he'll suffer in silence and take it then deal with the repercussions...as for him wondering why he's suffering in silence...its not like people are either good or bad...she may be home breaker but she still loves her sister...those two traits can reside in one person and Arnav is at least sure of her love for her sister so he banks on that...as for her suffering in silence...to him its because they made a bargain and she's sticking to her end and he's sticking to his end...If at all the only problem I have its the fact that he seems to have forgotten that her engagement broke off with a guy named Shyaam (an excellent point made on Dia's blog itself) but even that you can pardon him because he has so much to think about that he's not remembering that far back..

      Delete
    4. Gargi, abs agree on the points put forth above.
I don't knw if this assuages any feelings or justifies Arnav's position, somehow I feel, the reference was mostly Khushi's mangetar mst of the time, I don't recall instances of the Shyam's name being used in Arnav's presence, except on the day when the R family visited the G family and they intended for Khushi and Shyam to be blessed by nani...Arnav was squirming when her mangetar was to be called out...lets give him the benefit of doubt that he has not registered that aspect yet....becos it would be so silly on Arnav's part not to have linked that aspect...If I am wrong in my surmise, i will say the CVs goofed tom-tomming his shatir dimaag
BTW, Arnav does not think when he is angry. In a day, lets say he spends 8 hrs sleeping, and the other hrs just staying angry, dimaag toh use karne time hi nahin milta...

      Delete
    5. Rekha,

      I recall 3 instances:
      1. After Arnav leaves her at home post GH, KBT took his name
      2. Post DG's engagement, DG got a call from him in front of Arnav - when Arnav cut his hand on the shears
      3. When they go to finalize the engagement, Buaji calls him out by name
      4. On the day of the pooja at RM when DG realizes RS truth. Then RB askes DG is your Shyamji just like mine; always in a hurry to leave. - This should be DB's strongest memeory of DG's fiance's name.

On the 4th instance, she went missing and DB totally lost it. Then too she went to the temple.

But like Gargi said, in his present frame of mind, he is not thinking back to events of few days ago, let alone few weeks ago.

  9. arnav-ji has reverted to the ASR of old. who would drop her off the first floor with nary a thought.

If he was trying to pull off the loving couple act, why did he not defend her in front of everyone when buaji came to take Payal?

It is highly inconsistent that she got new clothes without anyone talking abt it.. buaji bought her clothes n stuff today, and ODG was already wearing her own style-wala blouse? how?

what is NK still doing in the show, I thought he came for the wedding?

why is khushi taking the rajai-pillow now when she refused it in the second night(as far as I can see, it was the second night, god knows what happened the first night :P )

    1. Jaya, and all ...about the pag phera - this is usually for the bride only - her first return to her parents' place after the wedding - its like for her parents to check that she is all right and her inlaws aren't beating her up! The bride's brother is supposed to come and pick her up, and the groom is supposed to bring her back from her parents' house in the evening. Nowadays in many families, the groom goes along with the bride - at least my husband came with me! And the groom's side are supposed to give shagun to the bride's brothers - I remember my two cousins were very happy with this part of the ritual - they were both America born and bred, so they had no idea about these things!

How did she get the red sari? But it was mentioned that Buaji brought her clothes, so from now on, Khushi has her own wardrobe, thankfully!!!

He cannot argue against Bua, cos she had valid points and any argument would have worsened the situation and he is at fault.

He can argue with his family and getaway with it.

Actually I am expecting a BIIIIIIIIIIIIIG CONFRONTATION *SHIDDAT ALERT* between him and the guptas.

For slapping khushi, for abandoning her and for not telling him about Shyam. He will make up for his silence then.

I don't think the Guptas will raise a confrontation @ ASR.. they all think he is a rakshas, and never thought about even a chance of ODG marrying him!

And obviously, ASR wants the two-timing vamp who broke his heart to suffer as much as possible, right? so I dont think he will confront the ladies of gupta family.( since there are no men shown, even for the wedding.. only the stroke victim in a wheelchair that everyone except khushi ignores)

i really would like to see that khushi takes his challenge and ASR tries to return payal.. just to see what akash will do about it. (i know the CVS will never do that, but i can hope..)

I am hoping for a confrontation, let us see.

Oh she will kick him out of the bed after she returns, last time he brought her to RM on his terms, this time she will come back on her terms.

  11. 1. Payal begins to unbend.
    2. NK innocently asks about DG's parents. Just like DG think of Nani as DB’s grandmom, NK relates to G family through DG.
    3. NK tells MB you are richer for having Payal and DG as bahus
    4. DG is scolded most by Bua always. But Bua’s love shows - momentary softening on her face, when DG's name is first mentioned and she first sees DG
    5. Bua is as upset with DB as DG. Her anger showed though she could not disrespect him. 1) He is Payal's jethji and 2) He is DG's husband
    6. Today the entire R family knows the price DG has paid because of this wedding ( Will they remember when a bigger storm hits in the future? 6 months wedding and RS's real nature)
    7. DG needs to go for pug phere / Bua leaves - Payal looks at Akash, Akash speaks up for her, NK says he will call her and DB moves to get her
    8. His stunned reaction when Bua say no need to tell her. When Bua says no, she is no longer a part of their family. She has caused them shame (because of him) and they cannot forgive her so easily.A family like them usually is more mindful of what society thinks and sees them as.
    9. DB flinches at the finality with which Bua closes the door . Before he can collect himself, he sees an excited DG run past and freezes, afraid , knowing she will be heartbroken.
    10. When MB says Bua left with Payal, NK immediately turns to DG concern writ large on his face.
NK's empathy for DG throughout the first segment, when Bua denounces her, MB taunts her and when DG tears at being left behind.
    11. By bringing her clothes to RM, G family silently say "Do not come back to that home where you no longer belong". Ironic because pug phere is all about taking the girl home to the maayka so she may keep going back home in the future even though she is part of another family after marriage.
    12. RS comes back after all the drama. His first shot at separating them went amiss. Now what will he drum up?
    13. Anjali making DG go back home for the rasam. The look DB and DG share when she says this. Anjali has not seen DG's excitement at seeing Bua and her denouncement at the hands of her family.
When she talks to DG she asks "do you not want to meet your parents?","Or are you happy with the way things are?"Not forgiven both but not sparing her brother either. They both agree for her sake.
It is all still about her. Yes 4 days after he saw RS, DB is in no mood to forgive and forget. Doing something nice for DG is not happening unless there is a trigger of a different kind. Even being cordial to her will not happen unless there is an imbalance in the present equation
    14. DB and DG together without drama in the car. No yelling, no tears, no accusations. But so muany Qs and vibes between them. Reminded me of the Diwali night car ride. Yay, the tinkle of her bangles unsettle him. So what if she does not ask him, they prod him to remember. That look they share in the car - Hayyyeee
    16. DB has FBs of his 'in love' moments (a first after the wedding?). Though he is still mad and does not recall the moment that DG CHOSE to wear the bangles he bought for her. (Ofc he thinks she is deceitful and just did it for the money. Does he see how unhappy she is with all his bank balance at her feet?)
    17. Last scene - the FBs, on recalling why he bought bangles for her again anger, the attempt to chuck her out, a partially raised window. (Will he close it completely?)

  12. Mixed feelings about today's episode. Guess it was a bit of an anticlimax since they directly jumped to the next day and here we were speaking of night under stars, Ma's letter, him getting her clothes.
But this was necessary (to a point). When DB faces the truth, he needs memories of how badly DG was hurt, repent for every barb she bore, being called an orphan, every taunt sent her way, every tear she shed, having her dreams broken and being told she is hated by the man she had begun to love - just because he did not wait to find the whole truth, because he did not give her the second chance he gave RS. Now, there needs to be a trigger to get DB/DG thinking.
We were shown R family's hurt and reactions last week. Now they show us how the G family feels. R family albeit grudginly has decided to accept the wedding and their bahu. They are yet to accept DG. The G family however has taken a more extreme stand and completely severed ties with DG (except for babuji). When the truth comes out, they will also walk the RTR, esp Buaji.

I was ok with DB not telling off Bua today. It would have been irrelevant. She was only expressing her disappointment at what has happened. He could not exonerate DG by saying he was the cause and you forgive her at this point in time.
But yes, if he gets a chance when he see them next and they talk about family honour and all, I would like him to stand up for her and say that she is their daughter. How can they wash their hand off her so easily, judge her so easily. Commanding respect for his wife alone is a tricky one as Payal is his lil bro's wife. No point making G family feelgood behaviour to DG so that payal is not hurt. It will only alienate them more from DG.
If DB goes to GH to pick up DG, I want a DB babuji scene.

    SIDE NOTES:

SN 1: The other day DG stood apart from the family (day of griha pravesh) .Today DB stood apart from the rest of the family. He was under trial. He is a Raizada but no longer considered an intimate part of the family.
SN 2: DB has multiple white shirts ;) Gargi and me wanted him out of those shiny brown shirts and we did :)

SN 3: When Buaji gets things for DG, has DG's natraj ki murti, red bangles and the saree she co-chose wtih DB also come back to RM? DB is not getting her anything for a while. Mind still clouded with anger.
We were shown R family's hurt and reactions last week. Now they show us how the G family feels. The G family however has taken a more extreme stand and completely severed ties with Khushi (except for babuji). When the truth comes out, they will also walk the RTR, esp Buaji.
SN 4: RS and NK make a comeback. Yes NK will be missed when he finally leaves
SN 5: ASR of the old is attempting a comeback - Blazers, WT!, Enough!, Get Out!, You mean nothing to me!, Cold and clear about how what the world feels is no concern of his.
SN 6: Last time RS tried to get DG in trouble by planting a necklace, Lakshmi saved her. Now that RS is creating trouble by planting a lie, will Lakshmi again be her rescuer?
SN 7: RS the sutradhaar of this mess, goes scot free and while all the pain is reserved for DG and DB. RS needs to start feeling the heat of what he did.
SN 8: And yeah! Anjali benefits by having RS by her side always and no DB to care about as she is annoyed at him.

  13. Dia,
I wondered what you would call your post today and like this title. It is indeed apt.
Agree that I think Arnav wanted to take Khushi home. He could not have initiated it though and was happy for the excuse his Di gave him. Also I felt he did not drop her till the house was because he would have had to go in, it would have looked rude to go away from the door and he did not have the guts to go in and see her tears or her getting hurt once again at the hands of her family. There was a kind of finality with which Bua disowned Khushi at RM
Agree with you on the following:
    - Buaji's reactions - harsh but still true to life - my uncle eloped many years ago and married against the family's wishes, and it took his father and siblings seven years to come round. It's barely been two days in IPK land ...
    - Anjali being tough ... and Arnav not arguing or even wanting to.
    - Arnav feeling the guilt more and more ... but remember, he still thinks Khushi is planning to break up his Di's marriage ... so the fact that he's furious with himself for still caring for her is a plus.
    - Arnav's flashbacks about the bangles ... it was a start, at least he started to think about the time he felt that Khushi loved him and he loved her ... the good memories ...
    - Khushi finding a new friend

    Have a safe flight!!

RS is back...and thats not such a bad thing....
Remember remember, he is the designated cupid-in-chief, he will do something that will bring DG and DB together...I am hopeful all these rasams-sambhars (LOL Dia)were only filler epis till the villian-in-chief made his comeback!!
Whether we will like those instances will depend entirely on how the CVs handle this part...Its upto CVs to show Arnav in better light...aisa na ho miles keep getting added to the RTRW to the point of no return...

  15. This is with regards to the track in general not just upcoming episodes...

We’ve reached March which means- Holi!! During Holi, people are supposed to forget about any rivalries and start new healthy relations...so I hope this is a turning point for them...even if the misunderstanding is not partly or wholly cleared up and they want to show Arhi relation build in spite of the fact that they hate each other and go along the whole ‘nafrat paas aane na de aur mohabbat door jaane na de’ track, this would be a great time to do so within the parameters of marriage. They could show them come to a sort of unsaid truce. Where both of them individually decide to just get through the 6 months as best as possible. Which opens up the plot to so many awkward and endearing husband wife moments too...(the holi scenes we’ve spoken off, him falling sick, bemausam baarish, dining table him eating her food etc etc etc)

Also I’m okay with things getting much worse and Arnav and Khushi growing further apart...but I want them to quicken the pace of the plot a little. I want a good villain. I feel Shyaam is underused. I expected him to have made his next move by now. Post the wedding he’s basically got an earful from ASR and been ignored by Khushi. Hopefully now that Abhaas is better they’ll use him properly. I was quite excited to see the battle of wits between Arnav and Shyaam, I’d hoped for subtle manipulations and clever well thought out schemes as opposed to catty bitching and kitchen manipulations that consists the villainy of most other shows. They’re men, let them at least show a slightly different level of their battle. I want to see Shyaam manipulate Anjali and Arnav respond by using Khushi or some other tactic to fight back...forget Arhi for a moment I want some lawyers slyness versus business tycoon’s wits.

As far as Arhi is concerned I think the equation is being shown very well and the internal conflict and the relationship deteriorating works for me. What’s not working are the scene set ups...they need to move forward from these antiquated rasams...there are far better scenarios in which they can depict and express the same points and feelings.

    2. Gargs,

the pace does need to pick up and we need to see more of that Arnav vs Shyam. Subtle manipulations and conniving will be better. He willtry and manipulat all of them, DB, DG and RB. We anyways have MB, KBT and RB for the drama every now and then.

Setting up is fine but then they should not get too caught up setting up that they forget to move forward.

Somewhere on the forum I read that for now, everyine is falling over themselves to follow RB's wishes and wonder who will be the first to stand up to her - Interesting thought I felt.

      Delete
    3. HAA....

Yes that RB sounds more and more like a Hunterwali (only without a chabook)...."yeh sab riti-riwaaz hamare liye bahoot zaroori hain"....and these idiots are just jumping thru the hoop.
I want to see what riti-riwaaz she is going to follow when that apology of a marriage will break...Silly delusional woman!!She still might say to Shyam "Aap tilak kiye bina akhri baar ghar se bahaar nahin ja sakte"
Arnav bitwa needs to find a good therapist for her...pronto...baki sab baad mein

      Delete
    4. Gargi, Abhaas was sick which is why Shyam was missing. Now that he is back, expect more arnav vs shyam scenes.

Anjali..well let us just say i am happy she is not crying anymore and toughening up, hopefully for good.

Who will stand up against Anjali, it will always be arnav no one else.

      Delete
    5. Hey guys, does someone really need to stand upto Anjali?...as far as I can tell apart from being a tragedy queen she hasn't actually done anything wrong...in fact her character's reaction has been the most sensible. Not forgiving but still accepting...moving forward herself and advising khushi to so too. Reserving anger fro chotey but disappointment for both.

Shweths I really hope you're right!! I would like to see some excellent acting from both Barun and Abhaas and some clever preempted manipulation and not just a series of misunderstandings now. Shyaam got lucky last time but if this MU is to continue let it be because of Shyaam's treachery and slyness and not because bitwa's dimaag is cruising the Mediterranean. Would make the characters and story line more believable.

      Delete
  16. Also I want a reality check. I know it’s a tv show and thus some leeway is granted but really some things are so odd...

How can they have all these rasams and so much hype around the wedding with no mention of a honeymoon?...fine don't do one but atleast mention it...for Payash at least...kind of weird to not even acknowledge it.
I mean they’re a super well off family in Delhi in the year 2012. Please do something about the wardrobe! Especially for the leads!! Anjali’s clothes are the best. Let Khushi keep borrowing her stuff if PH is going to put Khushi in gaudy chamkeeli sarees!
How could buaji say no to Nani when she asked her to take khushi home...she is your samdhan! You are from the girls side – that was so unrealistic...you cannot outright refuse your daughters in-laws.
It’s a small thing but try and show scenes with Arnav and Akash in them as night scenes so that it atleast appears they went to work.

Certain scenes I feel will work in present Arhi situation where they both hate each other...
1.Arnav being there for Khushi if something happens to babuji. (personally really want this)
2.Small wifely things khushi does for him which they fall into the habit of involuntarily
3.Khushi unwaveringly looking after Anjali and a really good rapport developing between them once again- baffled Arnav watching them...
4.Scenes like the kangan scene - act of a happily married couple but not OTT and not as forced. Slowly more natural, like Khushi and Arnav automatically switch it on and off once they cross the threshold of their room and perhaps sometimes they just forget to switch it off in the room and are normal until they realise no one is there and don’t need to be.
5.The doubt growing in Arnav’s mind very slowly as he watches her win over his family all over again and always maintain her distance with Shyaam. Would work better if this slow creeping doubt led up to a revelation of the MU by him overhearing Shyaam and Khushi rather than just out of the blue him stumbling upon and overhearing them.

    1. Amen to all the scenes Gargi.

Esp 3,4,5 would be a nice way to take story fwd w/o OTT or forced drama.

Even I want some sort of interaction b/w arnav and babuji. 1 would help that.

2 I already wished for earlier..so adding to your wish and hoping it really happens :D

  18. Dia, have a safe trip.
I loved what worked in the epi part and the beautiful way you described the car part.

Not much to look forward to have never really enjoyed gupta family scenes, give me R family anyday, atleast mami toh hai na..

See how this epi gets dragged today.

And agree now that arnav is married can anjali start concentrating on her own marriage and realize her hubby's complete lack of enthu towards their baby.

Shweths agree with you-Never enjoy any G family scenes...always dragged and too SP for my liking. ODG is the saving grace of that family and now she's also a Raizada...LOL.

I think subconsciously Anjali has accepted that her hubby doesn't really give a rats ass about her but she can't do much about it so supresses it...because seriously its their first born! first sonography! so many firsts and RS is being totally disinterested.

  19. @ Jaya and Shweths earlier comment:

I hope babuji dies/has a hospital episode...but after they've been married for a while. I want a genuine Arnav Khushi scene...and that cant happen right now...maybe a month or two into their fake marriage once the doubts start creeping in Arnav's mind....

Or even later during the separation track and ASR being there for Khushi unconditionally even though she hates him for what he did because he knows she needs him...and this is what finally softens the divide and starts the them coming closer track again...

...Anyway I think it can be shown beautifully and it'll be really welcome and much needed different kind of Arhi moment(less romantic and more unconditional support between two companions) - plus I want someone(ASR) to come to know that Shyaam tried to kill babuji too. And for him to be the one to tell Khushi what Shyaam did...

    2. yes Shwetha one more *SHIDDAT ALERT* and if the above to comes true i am going to faint for sure . as i was tell dia before , this show does grant lot of our Shiddats. Jai oh DM ki!!!
But it was good episode. They didnt drag the GH and they kept it to the point right from ppl asking her abt her marriage to Bauji and amma lashing out. payal stoping it. I even loved Babuji today, that unconditional support he provides her even in this state.
At last not the least ODG back with her DM. Liked the way is was all kid again with her.
And the Arti Bell did crak me up. At last our ODB dimaag ki ghanti bhaji.
Hoping more from 200th episode, just hope RS just not land there.

  27. Gargi and Rekha, this is Opti who made the post about Arnav's dimaag not working even after five nights. Just got to read your defence of him. Thought I'll make myself clear here.

Yes, the guy witnessed Shyam hugging Khushi and Khushi asking Shyam to leave his wife if he does not love her. For a man who was all set to confess his love to his woman this was indeed a huge shock and he jumped into conclusions which was all understandable under the circumstances. He discovered his sister is pregnant and heard Shyam challenge him that he cannot do anything and as a knee jerk reaction he married Khushi. That too is understandable.

And Rekha, I think he knows that Shyam was Khushi's ex-fiance. She had uttered Shyam's name over her cell in his presence (the night he hurt himself). So I think he is well aware that Shyam was the one who stayed as a PG in Gupta's house. In fact if he knows it is Shyam, he has all the more reason to believe that Khushi couldn't marry him because she came to know he was married only later but unable to forget him, she is still after him. I will even grant him this is if this is his line of reasoning.

But what I fail to comprehend is that even after witnessing how Khushi's family treated her after they came to know she married a perfectly eligible bachelor, he is under the impression that she wanted Shyam to marry her after he has broken up with his wife. Wouldn't Khushi know that her family would kill her first if she breaks her sister's marital home? If she did not care about what they think of her, yes, she wouldn't mind taking that risk for her own happiness. But he can clearly see in the past few days how much she craves for their acceptance. Should that not make him think whether he was right in judging her? He may not immediately trust her, but I am surprised he did not even show any signs of questioning himself. I know that for the drama to prolong they would like to extend this MU as much as possible but I think in the process they are ruining Arnav's characterisation.

Yes, the guy is dumb when angry but he is quite perceptive when he calms down. Since they are shown how torn he is seeing Khushi's pain, it is clear his anger has simmered considerably. Witnessing her agony should have got him wondering why is she behaving in this manner when she seemed quite willing to make her home by shattering that of another woman. The fact that he continued to have a one track mind which just refused to budge from that terrace scene only showed that his dimaag is not as bright as he claims it to be. I do hope they get Arnav to take some steps, even if they are some baby steps towards redemption. And that according to me is to start questioning things. He need not immediately accept everything but he should start showing conflicting feelings, where one part of him wants to believe that maybe he went wrong and the other part of him (his big fat ego)refusing to believe he could be wrong. Slowly the more logical part of him should win over his ego and he can return to the path of redemption.

What I would find absurd is for the guy to continue thinking the worst of Khushi even as he witnesses her continued misery and suddenly be enlightened one day by Payal or Shashi or someone else.

    1. Opti,

If it comes to pass that Arnav knew that Khushi's fiance was named Shyam, it is indeed a very gaping hole in the visualisation of the current track...However,sometimes, people hear things in passing but do not commit things to memory, i am willing to give Arnav the benefit of doubt in this case becos he he has't been shown registering this conversation unlike nani, anjali who have talked about it specifically. Its like cutting some slack for the main lead, who has shown serious signs of poor thinking on all quarters.

I agree Opti, too may loose ends have been kept open with this track. I will be satisfied, to begin with, if they showed, Arnav as helpless in the face of his love for Khushi. Let that knowledge give him the motivation to prove his suspicions wrong..all other things can come in gud time. I would't want him to learn the truth before him admitting his love for Khushi, atleast to himself, irrespective of whether he learns it on his own or due to someone else

      Delete
    2. Opti, I have to agree with Rekha on the Shyaam point...He never really heard much about shyaam Khushi's fiance. He almost always stormed off in a huff at the mention of Khushi's marriage. All of the conversation between them he was adressed as 'tumhara/ humare mangetar' and the one time when his name was uttered in front of Arnav, he was busy glaring at Khushi and neither of them were paying attention to la or Anjali just each others reactions. So I personally don't think he should be expected to make the connection.

I'm not saying that the track is flawless there are definitely some open ended questions and I think in order to do this track they had to compromise both Khushi and Arnav a little bit. However, I think as far as those two are concerned they're doing a good job.

Also your point that if she is so affected by what her family thinks of her would she marry the divorced jijaji of her sister's brother...fair point but that's quite a connection to make if you ask me. And considering the influx of emotions and information its even more of a connection to make.

I do agree with you in the sense that they should show him having doubt and build to the clearing of the MU slowly not just reveal it out of the blue. It will have more impact...But I'm not sure I want him to accept that he loves her till the MU is cleared. Its evident that he does but it would go against Arnav's character I feel if he accepted to himself that he loves her before the MU is cleared. His internal conflict is actually really appropriate and bang on the characterization. He loves her but doesn't want to and won't accept it no matter what the cost to himself and her...

      Delete
    3. I would prefer if he just accepts that she will be in his life for 6 months and menally just decide to get through the 6 months...but during the course of those 6 months there be lots of little incidents both eye opening and endearing Arhi moments..
