First of all, I'm so relieved that it is a real marriage after all, and not a forced live-in, that I'm ready to forgive Arnav anything! lol :))
The entire episode went in the family's reactions and in the flashbacks ... how Arnav forced Khushi to agree to a contract marriage for six months, how she actually refused at first, then bowed down because she could not let Payal's marriage break again ... fb's of Payal's first marriage, to showcase Khushi's conflict ... Sanaya's eyes showed her conflict, her struggle and her final surrender ... and probably Payal's first marriage was brought in a few episodes ago to reinforce the reason.
And Arnav finds it as difficult to face his family as Khushi does to face hers - but she got a slap, for no fault of her own ... it was good to see him give Garima that glare, as though to tell her, no one ... but no one hits my wife from now on ... and then school his face into indifference as Khushi looked at him.
Anjali is shell-shocked ... and actually very, very upset ... Arnav will find it tough to explain to her why the secrecy and rush for a marriage which would have been welcomed with open arms by his family ... actually, thinking logically, why the rush? Just announcing his engagement, and then getting married within a week would also have been enough to shake off Shyam, wouldn't it? Unless Arnav thought that Shyam might use the time to run away with Khushi ... okay, from his pov, there was a rush ... the surprise element. Which worked - Shyam's expressions were a treat to watch. Not too much of a treat, actually - Abhaas was just about okay in expressing his frustration and anger today.
Barun and Sanaya shared the honors today ... Arnav was not all about hatred, his pain, his dichotomy of feelings was there too, and Khushi was all about bewilderment, shame and heartbreak ... flashes of the fiesty Khushi showed in the poolside scene, when she refused to bow to his blackmail, making me hopeful that she won't become a weeping wall. And when Khushi begged him not to break her sister's marriage, did he for one moment, just one moment, wonder if this girl, who could agree to do anything for her sister, could ever be actually capable of willfully breaking HIS sister's marriage?
And did anyone else feel the six months part was dubbed in later? So what was it originally going to be?
Precap - I am getting seriously annoyed with Anjali and her waterworks ... and if Arnav reverts to being Di's baby boy, I will lose all the sympathy for him that he regained today. =))

Of all the foolish, badly thought out knee jerk reactions that Arnav takes in anger, when his dimaag has shut down, this has to be the worst planned. Six months ? Why six months? A baby takes nine months to arrive, and do you plan to tell Anjali on the delivery table once she's delivered, that oops, Di, been meaning to tell you that the father of this baby is a two-timing jerk ... if you feel she can't stand the news right now, she's gonna be in such a GREAT position to stand it then!
Did Arnav really never stop to think what reaction his family would have? Or was he so naive to feel that Nani and Anjali like Khushi already, they will accept her with open arms and just be happy that he's married? And what about the reaction of Khushi's family? Did he really think they would be so delighted at getting a rich son-in-law like Arnav that they would overlook the whole rushed shotgun-type wedding?
Arnav has to learn the whole truth of what Khushi told him - a marriage is not just a name, it is a holy union, binding not just because it is legal, but because it is made with the blessings of family and elders, it is a social contract, the joining of two families, approved and witnessed by society, and is a symbol of lifelong commitment, love, trust, respect and understanding. Not a tool to be used for blackmail - a sacrifice of all relationships to save one.
If being married himself, didn't stop Shyam from lusting after Khushi, how exactly is Khushi being married going to stop him? And Shyam isn't exactly falling over himself to tell Rani Sahiba anything either, in fact, he's completely delighted that Arnav's hands are tied now! So it's patently obvious that Shyam isn't planning to declare his grand love, abandon Anjali tomorrow and run off with Khushi into the sunset ... He's planning to continue doing exactly what he was doing earlier - have a hole in the corner affair ...that's assuming Khushi is willing. How is Khushi being married going to stop that one - in fact, with Khushi in RM, it makes things easier for Shyam. He saw that Shyam is not going to give up Khushi in a hurry, the only other way to stop him was to send Khushi as far away as possible.
Nope - dimaag had gone on holiday here for sure ... this was a decision made from the depths of his heart - he cannot let Khushi go. And although in the long run, this was the right decision, in the short term, it's going to hurt a lot of people badly, his own family, Khushi's family ... and Khushi. Shredding her reputation in tatters, leaving her open to questions from her own family and his as to the reason for the rush - what most people would think ... And what showed how badly thought out this was, was the fact that he had no answers for his own family, let alone hers! And hurting her ... she was dreaming of a marriage proposal, of love, of a Prince Charming ... and she gets a brutal six month contract - take it or leave it, it's your sister's marriage on the line.
Arnav has a lot of repentance ahead if he is to be redeemed ... and it's only Khushi's forgiving nature, which is being derided so badly, which is going to be his salvation.

Starts with the fun and games, Chotey and Khushi are missing again, but they start anyway ... accompanied by lots of extremely cheesy lines from Anjali, and silent fuming from Shyam. Garima actually wonders about her missing daughter.
And halfway through the missing couple reappear ... much to the shock of everyone present ... the only thing missing as the Ekta-ish clang-clangs and b/w focus on each person's reaction =))
Arnav's face - determined, Khushi terrified ... much more mature than him, she realizes the implications of this huge step taken without anyone's consent, the runaway nature ... what it could show about her ... and the worst thing is, she has no clue why! She has no answers for anyone, he hasn't given her any. All she can do is pray to her Devi Maiyya as she stops for a second behind him ... clutching onto her clothes with trembling hands, as she awaits the storm that is about to erupt.
And he holds her hand ... I found this slightly reassuring that it wasn't grabbing her wrist ... it was holding her hand, as though telling her ... or himself ... that from now on, they were in this together.
And as he pulls her in the family finally see them ... pan to all the shocked faces ... Anjali's and Nani's expressions were the best, I think, NK was good too ... and Shyam looked as though the ground had been pulled out from under his feet. Shashi babu looked mildly questioning =)) and Anjali looked shell-shocked ... she is shaping to be one possessive nanad! And tearful again ... does this woman do anything but cry?! :( Buaji's reactions were spot on ... Abha Parmar is an excellent actress.
Arnav faces his family with determination, while Khushi can't lift her eyes from shame ... poor girl!!! What should have been the best day of her life, getting married to the man she loves, made into something sordid and dirty ...
I really liked the way Buaji reacted ... shock, disbelief, then approaching Khushi to ask her, gently, pleadingly, still not angry, just shocked ... what is this? And Khushi's tears, not able to meet her eyes ...
Nani questions Arnav angrily ... and Khushi feels even worse ... she has let down not only her own family, but the Raizadas, Nani and Anjali, from whom she has always got so much love and respect ...
And Arnav still silent ... honestly, man, you made a decision, now defend it ... be a man! Why let that girl face the whole brunt?!
And I think in the face of all the questioning from the entire family, both his and hers, it finally begins to sink in what a huge decision this was ... what has he done ... how completely he has ruined Khushi .. and did he actually even want this?
But when he says ... we have got married ... he addresses it only to Shyam ... you wanted her, you can't have her, she will never be yours. You hurt my sister, I hurt you where it hurts the most.
So what if the collateral damage is to the girl he loves, to an innocent 19 year old who can't fight back ... his Di is everything, everything else is justified ... including using an innocent as a pawn ... because the man he really hates is out of his reach at the moment.
Arnav, your road to redemption just became a few hundred miles longer ... and I really hated him when the only regret he seemed to have was that he had hurt his precious Di by not telling her ... the Di who is a psychiatric case, and whose blind faith is the cause of all the problem in the first place.
Fortunately they showed the poolside conversation in flashbacks, because if it was left open whether this was a live -in or not, I would have lost all sympathy for Arnav ... his character would have been utterly destroyed.
So he struck her at her weakest point as expected ... her sister, and her sister's marriage.
Sanaya's voice modulation in the fb's was PERFECT ... the first soft voiced single word questions, then her incredulity ... as his tone remains impassive ...
The six months clause seems to have been dubbed later ... but good, otherwise why should she object so strenuously? Only to the rush ... which was bad enough ...
So she turns him down instantly ... shaadi, today, for six months ... you're talking nonsense ...
Repeat of the first 'dori' scene ... walks past him, he pulls her back and up against him ... Yes or no?
And repeats it as she's silent ... and she breaks away furiously ... No!!! How can you even think this way ... what do you think marriage is ...
And she almost gives voice to her dreams ... "aur hum soch rahe the ki ..." ... ki you care for me, you like me, maybe even love me ...
But he cuts her off again ...
Think again ... your sister's marriage and her life is on the line ... if I don't go out there, my brother will not take the pheras ...
And she stares at him, shocked beyond belief ... he would do that?!
Back to present ... Anjali weeping again ... you got married, you don't have anything more to say ...

The scene I hated - thrown in for the saas-bahu audience ... and to reassure viewers that Arnav loves Khushi, he really does ... even if his spine has gone missing along with his siblings' ... he glares at Garima when she slaps Khushi, but doesn't say a word ... shit, man, at least now speak up, say she's my wife, not your daughter any more, lay off! Agreed Garima had the right to be furious, but just glaring impotently when you've got the girl into this mess, is not going to cut it!

ReplyDeleteMore than anything they've shown till date this really hurt. He's changed. He really has. Hasn’t he? She was sure he had.
He broke her heart during Diwali-but at that point she had no expectations. Now after so much has happened she’d started to hope; he danced that way with her, he looked after her, he bought her bangles, he teased her and finally he said ‘khushi baat karna hai’ ...any girl would hope...would have expectations...and what it turned out to be really broke her. (I still have a lump in my throat)
Arnav...his look when Garima slaps her daughter...and his immediate release of her when she looks up at him. That man is irrevocably in love and hates himself and Khushi for it. She broke his heart and he will never let her know now ‘kyun aur kitna farak padta hai’ but farak toh phir be padega.
Even when she says flat vehement NO the first time-somewhere his ego is also hurt-he understood it as a rejection of him... not only a rejection of the idea of a 6 month contract marriage. Ouch farak pada.
Dia said it right...Barun and Sanaya have had their individual days but today they both equally and brilliantly reminded us why we’re so hooked to this show.
Also must say the cv’s have given us quite a plausible track. After the episode I wondered why Khushi didn’t ask Arnav why he wanted her to marry him for 6 months? But she has no clue he already knows about Shyaam. An the one thing she has never been able to wrap her head around was ASR’s aversion to God and faith in the institution of marriage. And it’s not like he hasn’t treated her cruelly in the past. So this behaviour is not entirely out of character. Plus given the situation-her sisters marriage on the line- she’s more preoccupied with the situation rather than the why. Once again with the preganancy track the cv’s ensured that Khushi would think twice before revealing Shyaam’s dirty little secret...as has Arnav. So all in all they’ve tied it up quite well.
So...Shyaam knows that Arnav knows-but not the whole truth...Arnav knows about Shyaam and thinks he knows about Khushi...Khushi knows about Shyaam but not his murderous tendencies and she doesn’t know that Arnav knows about Shyaam and apparently her. AND Anjali NEVER knows anything!!...Wish Nani knew she'd sort it out in a jiffy.

Bua did not tell that shyam was stalking her. Bua did not tell R family knows about Payal's first rishta fiasco.
Arnav did not tell khushi about what he thinks about shyam and khushi and why he is marrying her.
Now Shyam will take this opportunity to manipulate everyone to his advantage.
That hamain laga was heart breaking for her and I think he understood what she wanted to say. I saw moments of regret on when she fought back by refusing as if he was unsure.
I am actually loving this whole track, it is all very well shot and yes after Monday I want a stop to all the crying from Arnav's side and get on with it.
Think and figure out a way to outmaneuver Shyam.
As usual, it's the villain who is the smartest. And as usual, everyone decides to hide things from the others to save them pain, which is exactly what backfires on everyone.
DeleteHope the cv's don't take this the cliched way ... at the moment, it's pretty cliched, but the saving grace is the acting, which makes the scenes so heart wrenching.
I felt Khushi should have been more surprised about the six month clause ... like, you want marriage, fine, but why right now, tonight, and why only six months? But I guess she was so shell-shocked about his putting Payl's wedding on the line, that she panicked instantly aboutt hat, and couldn't think of anything beyond that ... poor Khushi!
I hope that is what we finally get in the ArHi scene ... so that he gets it into his thick head that she would have said yes instantly had he just asked her, instead of doing it this instant khichdi way ... in which case, she is obviously not in love with Shyam ...
And then they could put their heads together to try outmaneuver Shyam ... better still, she should just disappear and leave him completely stewing in his guilt ...

I went back and watched Wed's FB scenes - Arnav breaking down - Why? - coz he knows he will destroy his image before Khushi and end his love story even before it began - by going back to being like he was when he initially met her. He will need to inflict pain on her. It was difficult back then and it will be heart wrenching now that he knows "use farak kyun padta hai"
So true HAA. He's hurting her. but he's also hurting. thrice over. For his frigging Sis, for 'his' Khushi and his unrequited love...:(

As I expected Khushi got slapped and the scene for me of the whole episode.
She gets slapped, the impact pushes her towards Arnav, he holds her and he GLARES AT GARIMA...How Dare you do that to her, forget the fact that Garima is Khushi's mom, How Dare anyone Hurt Khushi like that.There was fury and protectiveness in his eyes, Don't You dare ever do that again..
Then she looks up at him scared, only to see him very reluctantly move away his face in regret.
He can pretend to hate her as much as he wants, He cannot stop Loving her.
Barun was absolutely brilliant in that scene.
Sanaya was outstanding as a helpless Khushi who still has no idea why the sudden marriage, knows she has hurt both families, has no answer to the questions being hurled at her and keeps looking at for answers she herself seeks.
For the characters:
I loved the way he began the proposal - You love your sister right, You can do anything for her right. He knows he and she share this common trait.
Marry me for 6 months, or else the wedding is off.
Khushi is apalled and fights back. Shocked that he can propose something like that to her and hurt that she thought he genuinely cared for her (humain laga...)
She puts up a valiant fight but ultimately has to surrender as she has been doing all her life, putting her family's interests ahead of hers.
In the FBs, when she finally says yes and in the end when he looks at her and she is looking at him with a pleading why?....
There is regret on his face, this is not the way I wanted it to happen, this is not the way I thought we would get married.
I loved the reactions of the rest of the family.
Mami as usual. Mamaji unusually grim, Nani Furious, Anjali shocked and hurt.
Garima furious, Buaji hurt and angry.
The younger ones Akash, NK, Payal too shocked to react and keeping quiet while the elders do the questioning.
Shyam they showed too little of him today rightly so, first family has to be shown and he was too shocked to react probably.
BTW, the old bg scores were good to hear, also did you all notice when he pulls her towards him, their stance is same as the Dori Breaking scene.
So the isolation of Arnav-Khushi begins from their family. Their Sacrifice unknown unappreciated by their family.
A very well shot episode with timely FBs.
I hope Monday Arnav leads the fightback, maybe another slap to Khushi would spur him to say,
ENOUGH...She is my wife now. We treat \Women with respect in Raizada Family and now she is a Raizada. Accord her the respect she deserves.
To his family, You guys wanted me to get married, right. You all like Khushi, So what is the big deal? I don't believe in this customs and I got married to her.
What is done is done. No more discussions on this.

I think the way he's looking at her in the end, is realizing how badly he thought this one out, and how he just didn't think of how badly she would be affected. And maybe starting to feel that she could be innocent? Starting to regret what he did?
I hope too on Monday he speaks up ... dammit man, you took the decision, you exposed the girl to the flak of both families ... at least have the gumption to stand by her. If for nothing else than for the fact that you have to show your snake BIL that this girl is yours, you will keep her away from him at all costs, even if it's just for your blighted saintly sister! Or is it that he will just keep her away from Snake, and the rest of the family can say and do what they like?

Yes this episode was shot very well the flash backs so well placed, also really appreciated that they actually showed us reactions Friday night itself rather than torment us till Monday.
ReplyDeleteI also liked that Garima slapped khushi, felt realistic. Khushi's been brought up to respect and value customs, rituals etc and you cannot just wander off from your sisters wedding get hitched and walk back in and tell your parents your married- I think it was an appropriate reaction for a mother.
Everyone's reactions were damn good. On a lighter note mami made me and my mum laugh with her 'silent mode' comment. And felt a little bad for NK, ab khushiji bhabhiji ban gayi...rofl
Also from the episode point of view its kind of interesting how they've contrasted the Payash wedding, where they perform every ritual binding Payal and Akash and welcome Payal into their home so warmly to Khushi and Arnav's marriage. Unbeknownst to all including Arhi they've also been bound together and performed all the rituals under Devi Maiyya's watchful eyes;-)
Come Monday I really hope we some progress. Like you said Arnav's reactions have been realistic till now, and to be true to his character they need to not make him all weepy post Monday. Man up now. And I really hope to see Akash and Payal find their voices and be happy and give some much needed support to Khushi. After all she's done this for them.
Gargi, I agree ... am so glad they showed us that the marriage is real ... Khushi is devastated that it's a six month contract, but at least we can breathe easy that Arnav will not let her get away after six months ... and they are legally married. Anyway all their rasams are done already! :)

Anjali is such an important character. She wields too much power in RM and is sort of more dangerous than Shyaam. Its ironic how both of them found one another-both are total head cases. I really hope that when Anjali does eventually find out about Shyaam, she is the one to deal with him. They need to show her character grow the hell up-she's going to be a mother for crying out loud! I hope when she does find out she doesn't dissolve into waterworks and cower behind Arnav(like Dia said no more Amitabh-Nirupa scenes P-leeej). I hope she kicks Shyaam out of the house-sunao's him good for being the useless cheating ghar jamai he is and finds a nice decent fellow(priest perhaps?lol)Also hope she solidly sunao's chotey for his rash decisions because frankly she's the only one right now who can get through that awesome crop of hair and thick skull of Arnav's and make him feel some real remorse for Khushi.
Meanwhile I hope its not all doom and gloom. Crossing my fingers for Aakash(Akshay has decent potential I feel) to step up at least be a family member who likes Khushi and makes her feel part of RM. Payal's gonna be busy with Manodrama and Nani may not be so forgiving initially...

The Payash game in the scene was finally the "mouli rasam" - undoing knots - linking it back to the last walk these 2 couples had, Payash are going to be bridging gaps and undoing knots b/w Arhi themselves as well as bringing them closer to the rest of the family.
Family reactions:
When Arhi walked in, all seemed stunned, Akash was the only one with a huge questioning look on his face who said Khushiji?!. Why do I feel this guy is gonna step up and be a brother figure to Khushi.
Have a feeling Khushi's family will disown her. Babuji is teh only one in the G household who is thinking that there is more to this than meets the eye - he is the one person who has always trusted his 'bitiya'. Mami will keep Payal - Khushi contact in limits.
Am on the fence with Nani. She may be totally upset with Khushi for doing this as it breaks all her impressions of the "valued" girl that Khushi was. At the last occasion of a relationship upheaval, Nani had said there has to be a big enough reason BUT she also warned him that relationships are not jokes; decisions are never an individuals they always have far reaching effects and affect the dear ones of that individual.
Anjali is still too stuck up on "my bro went off and got married without telling me" But maybe like in the case of the La engagement breakup, she will come back to him and say well if you are happy with this, then I am too chotey!

Arhi are back to wrist grabs, swirl and come into close contact and for the last time Arnav got to say Khushi Kumari Gupta (after a long time - I think after the shart scene, he hasn't said it at all). Next time he mistakenly says that I wish Khushi says nope that will KASR :) :)
Life has definitely come a full circle similar to the Lucknow fashion show but this time round, there is enormous baggage that both have - they cannot unlearn the things they have realized about each other. Then Arnav had again maligned her character publicly by releasing tapes, today he has managed to do so by marrying her hush hush - does he realize the parallels? R family do not know the reason her sisters wedding broke and cos of whom and today again though she had questions in her eyes when nani asks Arnav WHY?!, she remains silent again - will Arnav realize that he has an anger mask whereas she hides all behind her smile?
Arnav has not thought through the whole thing. Like you all, I hope he has some answers on Mon.
But why 6 monhts? - nothing so far makes sense. And will he fess up when Khushi askes him why he did what he did? Until Monday it is...
I don't have much hope with Payal. She sometimes appears a bit selfish. She should have said to Khushi, wait Khushi I have a connection with the Raizadas now, I WILL Tell Akashji, she simply washed off her hands of the responsibility.
DeleteI had high hopes with Akash, so maybe he comes through this time for his Bro and saali cum bhaabhi. Mamaji will also be someone who will reign in Mami. Nani will come around and so will Anjali. I hope these two insist on a formal marriage in some months time.
Initially Payal will be better treated cos she came the traditional way, was truthful about her own rishta etc.
Ditto, I do think the Guptas would disown her. The R family would not be too happy with Khushi either but they would come around eventually cos after all she is Arnav's wife. But initially both will face some problems and unfortunately the guy always goes scot free with the classic, Tum toh jaanti ho woh kaisa hai, Tumhay hi samajhdhari say kaam lena chahiye tha.
I did note one thing, every single member of the R family flinched when Khushi got slapped. They did not approve of the slap. When things cool down, Khushi would be far happier in R family that is for sure. They are magnanimous people, that is for sure.
Both Arhi are unaware that the R family knows about Payal's first Rishta. Since both their family conveniently decided not to tell them, so Arnav would have figured calculated rightly that if he told this to Mami, she would create a scene and call off the marriage which she almost did.
The question is would he have done that with Akash, I don't think so, Khushi should have called his bluff but since she does not the rules of the game and he is an expert at such games she caved in.
Also is there some more of that conversation that we have not been shown?

He told khushi I can break this wedding anytime and you know it but they never went off to get married until after Payash wedding was complete - why this timing?
Even this it was Khushi who finally took the first step and then Arnav followed her. How did he know that she will not renege? What had he told her to make sure she will not go back on her word?

Very true. He seemed to believe that Khushi would honour her word. If she can stoop to the level of having an affair with the husband of a woman she is supposedly close to, could she also not renege on her word?

Shyam wants Khushi, Well guess what He can't have Khushi for atleast 6 months. How Can I keep Khushi away from Shyam, by marrying her.
Why will she marry me so suddenly, well I will threaten her with Payal's marriage, she will agree.
(He did not THINK if she cares so much about her own sister, why would she willingly hurt someone else's sister?)
Once she is married, she will be bound to me, she will not think about Shyam till the time we are married.
(He did not THINK if she respects the institution of marriage so much, why would she go after a married man?)
After 6 months, baby would be born and Shyam can be thrown out and if Khushi wants she can go with him.
(He did not THINK about what they shared for the past 8 months or of the past 48 hours, how things have changed between them).
Post marriage:
He enters, his face grim and thinking probably only of Shyam and Anjali's marriage saved till the baby is born.
He enters, then sees his family her family and it hits him - ENORMITY of what he has done and what he has FORCED her to do.
He loves his family, He knows she loves her family and their shocked faces and reactions make him realize the blunder he has made.
He could have told Nani, we want to get married with Payash, we want to get married ASAP.
He was ANGRY, He did not THINK.
And he knows how much he has hurt his family by doing this, hurt the one person whom he loves the most.
He is NOT being questioned about the girl he married rather THE WAY he got married to her, when he knew damn well his family likes khushi a lot.
He did not THINK what would Khushi go through and as she is being badgered and then gets slapped, he realizes how once again in his anger he has let her down, let them both down.
He now realizes he will get away with it but not Khushi and there is REGRET, REMORSE AND ofcourse THE OOPS MOMENT!.
SO Arnav Singh Raizada, you did not THINK and I am hoping you will SAY the following to everyone:

Apparently the twist is not the marriage type but down the line. Even I thought that the basis for the wedding - Payal's 1st rishtha - just going poof when A and K realize the whole family knows will be fun to watch in the show. I even mentioned this in a comment earlier. Now what I would like is when that happens, K says well A, you did what you did but I gave you my word so 6 months it is.
Arnav only married her to one up Shyam. He thought of nothing or no one else - not his family, not Khushi forget her family. Sad for him that he didn't know that had he asked her she would have willingly said yes! - But this is a Hindi TV serial and we the online fans are I guess a bit more pragmatic compared to the usual TV watching crowd.
Also read in a interview of Nissar that the story is always from the girl's POV and you need to get one of the leads to sacrifice something major - some of the ingredients for a 500 episode daily soap. Now am sure that none of us here will grudge watching A and K for 500 episodes :D:D
He better speak up Monday else I will be very disappointed in him. I think there will be more drama. Khushi gets bullied and the guy starts drowning in his guilt for putting her in a corner and besmirching her reputation again. Then his sis nags him saying tell me why and what does our hero do - run and hide.
SIGH - I would welcome more spoilers, lesser tears and Mon night 8 PM coming soon.
Work is gonna be a killer next week and I hope I can keep my wits about me and get things done and not get totally lost in ArHi Land....

DeleteWhen they went to the dhaaba and that aunty tells Khushi to wipe Arnav's milk-stache kyunki 'haq' banta hai- I think once the R family's shock wears off we can expect cupid Nani and preggers Anjali with her infinite rasams to facilitate such scenes. And as we've seen in the past even when they hate one another the chemistry still crackles and this will be in the confines of RM...No timeouts...(suggestive eyebrow raising-lol)
My heart went out to the poor girl. Isn't it ironic that she was emotionally blackmailed into a hurried and unwilling engagement which she ultimately broke on realising her fiance was a married man and now she got emotionally blackmailed again into a hurried and unwilling wedding because she is believed to be trying to break up the very marriage she had earlier saved? What's worse is that the indecent proposal of a short term marriage comes from the man she loves and that too at a time when she was expecting a love confession from him. Her trust in the man which was just beginning to be restored by his thoughtful and sensitive acts during the run up to the wedding just got rudely crushed. It would be a Herculian task for the man to get her to trust him again once he realises the biggest blunder he has made in his life.

Had he not seen the woman shed tears seeing him in the arms of another woman? Had he not seen the stark pain in her eyes when he announced his engagement to that woman? Did she not rush into his arms to seek comfort when her dad was seriously ill? Did he not hear her berate him for belittling the institution of marriage? How could he even think that this woman is in love with another man and that too a married one at that? Yes, he heard her ask him to break ties with her. but what makes him think that she said that so as to get married to him? Oh sorry, he wasn't thinking. After all his brain shuts down when his fury flares up.
Guys I know Arnav is angry and his famed rash decisions (e.g. lets get engaged La cuz I'm attracted to khushi)usually end up disastrously wrong but he is using his dimaag. The fact is he has limited information.
ReplyDeleteYes he knows Khushi's character but he heard with his own ears his jijaji try to assure Khushi that he loves her and her alone she responded to that by saying so leave your wife. Exactly what the 'other woman' would say. He saw with his own eyes that excruciatingly long embrace. Also in all this time Khushi has never come to him saying that Shyaam was my fiancee who deceived me and even after the sangeet she kept quiet. Why will he question what he is seeing and hearing which is further corroborated by Shyaam's We're in love rant for some hypothetical chance of a hope? Sorry he's more practical than that. It broke him too. He's also hurting. And like Dia said the most practical route would have been to ship her off but his hurt is deeper than her and Shyaam's alleged affair she broke his heart and didn't reciprocate his love. And so he did what he could to save his sister and to torment her just as she hurt him. His hurt may be unfounded but still hurts all the same. he's reacting the best way he can.
As far as the ramifications on the family-he knew they would face hell. He knew they'd have no answer. But at the end of the day he took the decision he felt he had to. After all none of them have complete information.
Just no more crying now ASR because Shyaam is going to scheme and he needs to be ready...
(As a side note... hope they show the holi scene thats being aired in the promo's!...they will have some cute, awkward rabba ve scenes with the marriage track even if its for TRP's...hope holi is one of them)

Gargi, yes he saw the embrace and heard her words but did he not notice that she was not reciprocating that hug? Yes, he heard her ask him to leave his wife if he did not love her but did he not discern from her tone it was more of dig at his bro-in-law's claim to love her? Oh yes, his bro-in-law swore she loved him too but he is willing to believe that shameless creep rather than think how all this does not add up to what he already knows about the girl he loves. The truth is his dimag does not function when he is angry. He is a bundle of emotions when it comes to the two women he loves the most. So he when he is presented with a picture of a supposed betrayal by one of the other, he let his emotions rule. When one's emotions are on a high, one's brain goes into hybernation and that is a fact. It is not about hypothetical hope we are talking about. We are talking about concrete instances when Khushi's pure soul was on display more than once. Unless he believes her to be a super actress who is ruthlessly playing with not only his feelings but also Shyam's, which he apparently does not, going by his inability to look at her with hate, he just cant believe she is capable of the treachery of the magnitude the terrace incident seems to imply.

See he trusted Shyam for 4 years and lived in the same house too. When his trust has been shattered by a guy he knew and trusted for 4 years, how much credibility a girl he barely knows for 8 months, with whom it all started on the wrong foot will have?
Often when we are pushed to a corner all our deepest fears and insecurities come to the fore. It is easier to believe in them at that moment than think and analyze. And he has had hell of a day, a good night sleep might bring some sort of calm and sense in him. It will not happen overnight though, this whole week will be a lot of drama which I prefer than the OTT comedy, so I say bring it on.
Hi Anonymous...I agree that Arnav's decision was fueled by anger and was rash but I just feel that as the cv's wrote it, it was a series of unfortunate events and was precisely meant to lead to an impasse of information. I just feel that Arnav is not wholly at fault, he's as much the victim of these 'series of unfortunate events' as Khushi and is going to hurt as much as Khushi - maybe even more once he finds out everything and she walks out with her head held high.

Yes, he is a victim of circumstances, Gargi. I was only responding to your comment that he is using his dimaag. I feel he is not for if he was he would not act the way he did. And yes, he is hurting and will be hurt more once he comes to know how wrong this decision of his is. It is a very costly blunder which he will regret for a long time. I too hope this torture for Arshi does not last too long. Will be difficult to go through their pain day in and day out for the next six months or more. Hope they have a mini leap and get this over in a month or two. We need to see the re-blossoming of love between these two and this time stay for keep.

DeleteGargi and Anonymous, it's both, I think - he is a victim of circumstances, and because his heart is so deeply involved, it doesn't allow any rational thinking ... and Khushi keeping quiet about Snake is adding to his misconceptions ... that why can't she tell him about snake - means she's guilty, right? He can't imagine why else she would keep quiet. But he's not stopping to think that their own relationship is very new, and he has always blown hot and cold earlier, and not really given her too much reason to trust him earlier ... it is different now, so I think he is justified in thinking that she's quiet because she's guilty. Khushi SHOULD tell him about Snake - and to be fair to her, and hopefully he will remember later - she did try, she told him she wanted to talk to him about something, but later said she didn't ... and that was in front of a roomful of people when anyway she couldn't have said anything.
ReplyDeleteSo both are victims of circumstances ... but his reactions are unjustified if you think logically ... if you think romantically, he's done exactly the right thing! He's married her, she's under his protection, and Snake can't reach her without going through him. The only thing is, the means were wrong - he destroyed her reputation in front of her family - what are they supposed to think of such a rushed wedding - that she has been having an affair with him? So he has to protect her NOW onwards ... his primary reason was to save his sister's marriage till he could think of a way to deal with the Snake ... now he has to start dealing with the fallout.
I don't know how much in advance they shoot - judging by the SBS segments we get, not too much - a day or two maximum. I don't think they have much of an episode bank, and if the channel keeps interfering, that must be playing havoc with the schedules also.

I was asking about the episode bank because I saw the nomination video again and was wondering whether they shot the holi sequence for the nomination video or its picked out of an episode around holi. Holi is march 7th that's really close so thought perhaps it was from an episode thats been shot. However, you have a point the SBS segments show like a day or two in advance so probably not:-(

Am so glad she's married now, the chamkili suits and plaits will go - we get a beautiful open-haired Khushi!!! Yippeee!!!
I think the nomination video must be a one off - but then did they shoot that one just for the awards? All the other jodis don't have any new scenes - they're all shots from their old ones.

My guess is till the confrontation second one with shyam happened, Arnav was not thinking of marriage much less a hasty one. So Shyam must have unintentionally pushed Arnav towards such a drastic step. My guess we will get to know about it in FB probably after he slams the door in Anjali's face.
DIA, I am HOPING like crazy there is a performance and I hope they chose a song keeping Barun in mind. I am sure they will perform, all nominated jodies and ppl do right?

Whcih will be a nice closure to that loop too and then Arnav would not have done this in a complete knee jerk manner. Also would explain the reason for Shyam's high alertness and extrreme sensitivity to ArHi during the wedding. Besdies we need to see how he took the news of the baby too. Now that was a googly he was not expecting.
(gosh possibilities, probabilities, flowcharts - do teh Cvs have a humongous whiteboard somewhere where they keep drawing and connecting? - taking a step back no wonder sometime even their brain stops working :P)

DeleteMaybe this night will continue for another week (what a long night!) and Khushi will tell Arnav about Shyam then or Khushi being Khushi will mostly blurt it out in her anger while arguing with him. Interesting to see how and what happens in that face off b/w Arnav and Shyam.
I has this freaky thought that perhaps just maybe Arnav will tell Khushi to go back to her parents place (u know with Khushi telling buaji that I will be here tomorrow too) but I guess the TRPs will tank if he does that and besides what is the point of marrying her to one-up Shyam then? Even in these pics, I am like did he go to drop her and on his way back met Shyam?
Actually if Arnav thinks well, the very first mention of Shyam was when Arnav drops Khushi home after the guest house scene and as he is about to walk out, Payal takes Shyam's name. At that time, Khushi barely knew Anjali, didn't know he was her husband and totally hated Arnav. That was also the day she first stood up to Arnav, yelled at him and pushed him in anger... (*THWACK on head with newspaper to get back to present*)
On the Anjali - Arnav front, I was thinking Arnav already on mehendi day told his sis (when he was gone for a few hours) that she should not freak out like this or be this paranoid. There was a moment then too when he didn't like her ruining that moment b/w him and Khushi. Its I guess that emotion each mother has when her son gets married and she needs to share him with another - besides the secrecy is Anjali beginning to hurt at being sidelined from Arnav's life?
I finally realized that if not for 6 months, Khushi's refusal might have been misconstured as her refusal of Arnav. Plus this gives CVs more possibilities to play in the future too.

HAA, you know I had the same thought - what if Arnav decides to drop Khushi back to her parents' place - that scene of Payal leaving, when Khushi said I will be here for some time ... and that's what I thought when I saw those pics as well ... that he went to drop her, completing her humiliation, that she is married to him, but sent back to her parents the same night ... I REALLY hope this doesn't happen :(((

2. Arnav at Gupta House when he realizes the Guptas have still not come around and are ignoring Khushi and BLASTS them.
I forced her to marry because of Shyam. You should not have let her handle such a critical issue. You as elders should have talked to Nani or me. She is suffering because of you, Treat her nice, accept her back or else...?

@17TH March: Well we have been told they will not drag this thing. So first the Raizadas will come around and Arnav will put up an act and hopefully he starts noticing that Khushi is extremely uncomfortable around Shyam and so is Payal. Hopefully either Arnav walks in on Khushi-Shyam argument or Payal finally speaks up.
Something good will happen by then hopefully.

ReplyDeleteAlso I think they'll show the six months happpen(n much less time or TRP's will plummet as you said) and khushi actually leave RM before Arnav realises his mistake and then we'll have a 'him trying to get her back' track.
I think Khushi's dad will die in the ME and that'll bring estranged Arhi closer though still not willing to talk about Shyaam. Or then some complication with Anjali where Khushi looks after her and that thaws Arnav a little.
Ooh yes please another Sarun performance. Barun did a great job in teri meri...ok not much dancing more looking fab and twirling Sanaya but still...

Yes!! I don't care how they do it. I want him to carry her over the threshold and I want him to tell her to sleep on the bed. Let them him have some decency even though he hates her right now...He's supposed to be ASR. Sophisticated and a cultured even if he's ruthless and willing to use any means. So please keep that in tact CV's, fine show him being indifferent to her right now - we'll deal with it by re-watching January episodes. But he should in front of his family put his foot down and treat her like a lady -if not his wife.

At the present condition, I am guessing she will faint or about to faint and he enters sees her going upstairs can see she is crying is upset and realizes she is about to faint and catches her in just nick of time. (sorry if I am repeating myself here, somehow repeating will help even if it does not happen for real, weird I know, lol).
See that fainting spell will take care of that rasam and everytime she falls he is always there to see that she does not fall down (catch her - well makes her sound like a cricket ball, so..).
From the ramp(as a stranger), at the dhaba(as a friend?), in the kitchen(more than a friend almost lover) and his home (as his wife).
The fainting spells - let us see GH, the moment he starts softening for her, Teej, when he realizes how much he cares and Hopefully now (if not sometime soon in future) On their marriage day in his home as his wife when he realizes how much he loves her.
SAME BED SAME BED SAME BED...Anything else will be insulting us and him.

Timeline:
Family confronts them. Guptas probably disown Khushi, Now R family confronts Khushi and leave her all alone. She breaks down and goes upstairs. In all this arnav goes to his room, anjali follows him, Arnav slams the door and FB with Shyam. Akash comes along consoles Di, Di bhai ko chodo, Mera SR hai, jaldi mujhay or Payal ko andar bhejo.
And then precap, khushi almost faints hopefully so expect something of Arhi only on Tuesday.

And whatever happens I doubt Arnav is really going to stand up and defend khushi. His priority seems to be pissing off snakewa not protecting khushi- he still thinks she deserves what she's getting. Bet he'll be more bothered about how bad his decision made Anjali and Nani feel. -AGGHHHHH- and as for Khushi yelling at Arnav I think she's going to be too broken to even utter a word:-(...

It is her Wedding Day supposed to be most Memorable day and turns into Most Forgettable day.
In the morning Nanad announces, she is pregnant.
In the evening during marriage, Jethji keeps appearing and disappearing holding the marriage up.
In the Night right before SR, her sister gets married to her Jeth and the rasams are stopped in between again.
I can almost see her screaming, THIS IS MY DAY DAMMIT, STOP STEALING THE LIMELIGHT AWAY FROM ME.

ReplyDeleteOne of these days they have to show Aman in the flesh and blood...honestly think he only runs AR group...between dancing with Khushi, fighting with Khushi, acting as her personal chauffer, buying her bangles and their oh sooo many poolside meetings not to mention his Di's seva where is the time for ASR to run a multi million rupee fashion house...
Never fear Aman's hear...I think Mami should be most greatful...her never ending haar purchases are funded by Aman's hard work:-p
