So the SR is no less than another storm ... Arnav sees Shyam ogling Khushi, promptly loses his cool again ... and takes it out on Khushi, ... first he lets loose some salvos about acting and where she really wants to be ... Khushi is clueless ... what on earth is he talking about? And thankfully Sanaya's voice is back ... hoarse, but back ... so of course Khushi loses no opportunity to start questioning him again ... if you're so disgusted by me then why the hell did you marry me??!!! Thank God for the girl's tenacity ... at least she questions things ... and hopefully through that and through those strange remarks of Arnav's about acting, she might arrive at the truth. Because Arnav has lost all his reasoning power!
Just realized Arnav talked about acting the last time she questioned him too, and again today ... for heavens' sake, Khushi, you're the smarter one ... start putting two and two together ... start seeing the glares that Arnav gives Snakewa!
Arnav then compounds his sins by banishing her to the poolside ... now, now, Arnav, what did I say about right place for the right activity?! Bad boy ... and unchivalrous to boot! Of course he spends the rest of the night on the recliner ... bhugto, bhugto ... you really thought you would be able to sleep peacefully on the bed after banishing her into the cold.
Were we right or were we right :)) ... Nainital revisited it was ... so bitwa tries to be a good boy and give her a blanket ... but our sherni loses her dimaag when she loses her temper too ... chucks a perfectly good blanket aside and spends the night shivering ... 'cutting off nose to spite face' is the saying that springs to mind ... *shaking head* ... when will these two grow up?! =))
And in the morning when Momma ... oops, Di ... comes knocking, Arnav is all heran pareshan ... like a schoolboy caught in mischief ... tries to wake up Khushi, she doesn't budge so he carries her in ... that shiddat was one heck of a powerful one =)) ... and Khushi wakes up halfway through, and instead of being all coy and shy in the arms of her beloved, she starts fighting again ... *sigh* Devi maiyya, in donon ka kuch karo, please!!!
But Khushi has started wondering more and more ... why ... what is the reason, that Arnav has not told even his sister, Anjali ... and she has already started getting belligerent about it ... I foresee that promo coming true quite soon now ... because she might be meek and quiet in front of the rest of the family, because she feels the guilty party there ... but in front of Arnav, she is the wronged one, so she will fight!
The Aftermath ... picking up the pieces ... the runaway marriage created a storm in the two families, and the pieces still lie scattered everywhere.
Mami continues to act true to form and insult Payal and Khushi ... Nani and Anjali have given Khushi her place as a Raizada bahu, so they will give her all the rights that go with it, including the right to enter the kitchen, much to Mami's disgust ... but Nani makes it clear she still hasn't forgiven Khushi, much to Khushi's distress. So many relationships scattered, so much trust and affection shattered by that one wrong step ... by both of them. Khushi will have a tough time winning back that trust and affection ... I really want Arnav to tell Nani the truth when it comes out, and tell her it was not Khushi's fault, he held a gun to her head.
Payal is still angry and upset, as upset as Anjali ... and with as much reason ... but it was below the belt to blame Khushi for the first fiasco ... that was done with full knowledge of Payal, and Payal also knows now that it wasn't Khushi's doing that she got delayed. So Payal still not out of my black books, although she redeemed herself slightly by begging Khushi again to tell her the truth.
Khushi gets burnt ... will Arnav see it ... he had better!!! And he'd better get all hyper about it too, if he knows what's good for him!

Khushi arrives and Anjali leads her to the bed, giving her a slightly reassuring look, Khushi is nervous as she looks at the bed, wondering what is to come now ... because she has no clue why Arnav married her still - was it for this? And a slightly apprehensive look at Shyam as well - now that is going to give him mixed signals for sure ... but she doesn't look at him again as Anjali settles her and says she'll call Arnav, Khushi is too nervous about what Arnav is going to say and do ...
Arnav strides in, only to see Shyam ogling Khushi and his temper rises again ... what a pity Anjali called him just then, otherwise Arnav would have said something to Shyam and Khushi might have realized what was happening between them ... as it is, she's not even looking at the two ...
Arnav looks at Khushi - his bride ... and something starts to soften ... but then she looks back and gets up quickly ... and he's angry again ...
How am I supposed to live with you in the same room for 6 months?! I can't bear to even think ...
And she is aghast and shocked again ... then why??? Again the same question beating at her ... why has he done this?!
Then why did you marry me? Why are you doing this to yourself ... if it disgusts you so much?! Why are you giving yourself so much pain? And with you, to me too? I don't want to stay here, in this house, or with you in this room ...
And he loses it again ... I know very well where you want to stay ... but you won't ... neither there, nor here ...
And she's baffled again ... what exactly does he mean? Does he think her parents' house ... but he felt bad yesterday when she said she had lost her home, so why now ...
And remember this ... outside this room, we act like a happily married couple ... I know you're a great actress ... again, another taunt, which she wonders at ... why does he think she's acting? ...
But in this room, you're nothing to me ...
Again those words ... you're nothing to me ... every time he throws them at her and they pierce her soul ... every time she dares to hope that she means something to him, and he tears her hopes down ...
And he throws her out ... shutting the glass door between them again ... shutting her out again ... closing his heart to her again ... leaving her in tears again ... why does she always hope ...
But this time, he's hurting too ... and as he lies sleepless, he sees her shivering outside, and remembers Nainital ... he looks at her shivering and almost breaks ... wanting nothing more than to pick her up, bring her in, warm her ... but then stops and hardens himself again ... no, she deceived him ... the struggle within almost breaking him as he tears down the wedding decorations in frustration and anger ... how can he do this to her?
So he throws her a blanket ... but she wakes, and looks at him, the picture of innocence ... and she throws off the blanket ... she wants an explanation, not a blanket ... accusation in her eyes ... as they stare at each other through the glass door separating them ... her face accusing, his hands clenching as he struggles with himself ... she looks so innocent, but she's a deceiver ... he can't meet the silent accusation in her eyes ... and he can't look away ...
Morning ... the bridal bed unused ... he sleeps uncomfortably on the recliner, she outside on the pool edge ... and Di comes knocking for the first of the rituals ... And Arnav gets up in tizzy ... of all people, his sister can't be allowed to suspect anything ...
Frantic to wake up Khushi, when she doesn't stir, he just picks her up to carry her in, but she wakes and struggles immediately ... and then watches wonderingly ... what is he so frantic to hide from his sister? From her, she can understand, but his sister?!
Hope Khushi's dimaag is not on extended leave and she starts connecting the dots soon ... she certainly is into questioning mode ... Why? Let her know what you have done ...
And he stops and looks at her as though to say ... what I have done?!
(Note - Another carrying over the threshhold - of his room, no less ... that shiddat worked and how! So Arnav threw her out himself, and had to bring her back himself ... Devi maiyya at work again)
Anjali takes in Khushi's disheveled look ... and hands her clothes for her chouka pujan ... she leaves without a word to Arnav ...
Liked the way they did this ... Anjali is giving Khushi her rights, reserving the bulk of her anger for Chotey ... Khushi knows the distance from his sister, her anger, pains Arnav more than anything ... but she's angry with him herself ... how can she help if he won't tell her ...
And Arnav is caught between the two ... more helpless than either ...
Mami Payal in kitchen ... Mami taunting Payal as expected ... and stops Khushi from entering the kitchen ... Nani steps in to override ... thankfully ... hello, Mami is not Khushi's MIL ...
(Khushi was looking so pretty and delicate in the pale yellow sari ... )
Again liked the way they showed this ... Nani also giving Khushi her rights, but not the affection and respect ... Khushi will have to earn that all over again ...
Khushi-Payal ... not much to add ... Payal is within her rights to be angry at Khushi, to ask her why she did what she did, to get angry not at what Khushi did, but more at why she is refusing to tell Payal, her older sister, her confidante ... but bringing in Payal's first marriage and what Khushi did then, just served to reinforce Khushi's misery, that she was at fault then, she couldn't have let that happen again to Payal ... not because of her ...
Sanaya's broken voice actually worked well, as she was supposed to be all choked with tears for the bulk of the time ... but good to hear her voice again!
That one poorly thought out decision has had some huge consequences ... torn two families apart ... the storm has been and gone, but it will take a long while to pick up all the scattered pieces and put them back together ...
Thoughts - and a note to Khushi - Khushi darling, your hot-tempered hubby's dimaag is sunning itself on the French Riviera at the moment, but can you at least start thinking? He's hiding something from Anjali, you're also hiding something from Anjali ... remember? Could it be the same thing you're both hiding? Start putting two and two together, for God's sake!

If Arnav finds out about Shyam's duplicity, his remorse will tear him apart all right, but if he tries to win Khushi back without telling her what he thought about her, it might be easier for him ... and shorter for the show ... he makes it a real marriage ... they get together to expose Shyam ... and that's the end ...
but if Khushi finds out, confronts him, OR if he tells her what he thought and she gets angry in her turn, then turns the tables back on him ... we keep up the pretence, only to expose Shyam to the family ... and then I leave ... that keeps the show going for longer ... because once Arnav bends towards Khushi, she has to step back ... otherwise story kaise chalegi? So to my mind, once Arnav finds out, Khushi has to step away from him ...

ReplyDeleteFinally today Payal’s reactions felt right. She’s still angry at her sister but still willing to talk if she gives her a reason!! And Payal was right about Khushi’s decisions...always best interest at heart but not exactly most logical and sensible route. She knows her sister. Or so she thought. I liked how they show her unwilling to talk unless she confides in her-felt like an appropriate elder sister reaction. I did not like Monday’s episode where she reminds Khuhsi that she is not her real sister or that she tells her that Khushi doesn’t consider them real family. Yell at her, ignore her, be mean to her, call her a nautanki, call her a liar whatever...as her elder sister haq hai. But don’t jatao to her that she’s not your real sister. That’s just below the belt. Today’s reaction hit closer to home.
Mami and her no entry –stopwa sign- oh well we expect that from you...and kind of enjoyed her taking Payal’s case (Also reminded me how hard mami tried to help La...) she has such a money complex...it’s okay...everyone takes mami light even mamaji...ROFL
Nani and Anjali...they haven’t quite forgiven khushi bitya...But khushi will take good care of preggers Anjali under nani’s watchful eyes and it will be okay in a while. Again was glad that they are both accepting her, but slowly and in a very ‘caveated’ manner. It would have been silly if right after the rasams they outright accepted Khushi and Arnav. After all the hurt is because of the elopement and silence, their refusal to give an explanation.
Arnav and Khushi...can I just say I felt worse for Arnav than for Khuhsi...(don’t throw virtual rocks at me...actually if I wrote this on IF it would be virtual boulders:-s)
1.Married to the girl he is crazily in love with – and can’t do anything or really be married at all.
2.Honestly convinced she’d rather be spending her SR and life with another guy. Ouch. (Use that huge ego of yours bitwa even if dimaag is still sunnng on the beach- who would pick slimy snakewa over you??)
3.Hurting her is hurting him. He’s hating that hurting her is still hurting him and worst of all he’s going to hate himself later on for hurting her...
Like I said before sucks to be ASR.

Rest - agree with all ... Payal's reaction included ... I like the way they're showing Nani and Anjali actually, well done, the subtle differences between the matriarch and the emotional sister, both equally hurt, but reacting differently.
Have to add - I watched an episode of Punar Vivah ... don't look at me like that - I was killing time till IPK, and it was that or SNS :) ... and the word subtle reminded me ... one of the main reasons I like IPKKND is that it is not OTT ... the show on Zee seemed to be catering to a chavanni class audience, with one heavily jeweled, supposedly classy lady and one well-dressed guy shouting and screaming like fishwives in a public mall ... even Mami in IPK, as uncouth and wannabe as she is, doesn't get so ghatiya!

I was ok with Payal's reactions but agree with Dia that the you ran away with shop papers on my wedding day was not fair. Payal knew before Khushi left. Had she said your impulsive decisions always get us into asoup, I would have agreed all the way.
Nani and Anjali will be cordial for now - true makes sense - hurts don't go away that soon but they have for now accepted her as the bahu and I can live with that. Khushi's problem is she does not know the WHY still. So doing anything to set things right is kinda not possible.
i totally feel that promo rumour about her ultimatum to Arnav that he either tell her or she leaves may totally happen. Khushi is settling down in the storm's aftermath. For now she has a family, she has been accepted. She is unable to see Arnav hurt and our tigress is soon gonna start to do something about it. (Glad Sanaya;s voice is also coming back)
And yes I agree, I totally felt for Arnav today. If on Monday I felt for Khushi, today I felt very bad for Arnav. Sucks being him as of now.

Yeah I agree that the papers thing...its not like she stopped khushi!...even though it was khushi's hare brained idea. It just felt like a big sister thing to say...your idea's never work! so whatever your thinking tell me! We'll figure it out together but I'm not letting you off the hook before you explain why you went and married the one person you spent all of last year badmouthing!

Rabba Ve will be at muh dikhaayi. Like Shwetha said (its on yday's post) the tagline says kya arnav dega khushi ka saath and genie went ofc he will duhhh!!! so rabba ve hopeful moment.
Much as i love ASR and understand his condition - i so hope that KASR gives him a tight slap when she finds out the truth - how dare he think she could be in with KJ!! hope this mess clears out real soon and the few months are spent in Arnav trying to win over his tigress, begging for forgiveness and ofcourse with loads of rabba-ve moments

When she sees him, just like while taking the joda, she is worried about his reaction (it is a throwback to the K of the olden days, the one who never knew how ASR would react in a situation. Recently she had grown to know him and was more daring around him. But today, he is again a stranger. She is not sure how and what he will do. One moment he is ruthless and in another he is affected by her pain. His eyes tell her one story but his words say another. Which should she believe?
I loved that she retaliated to his disgust of sharing a life with her, his life with her. Her Qs

Why are you doing this to yourself? (silence to your Di and Nani, estranging family)
Why are you hurting yourself?
...And me?
She loves him so much even today that her first thought is for him and only at the end for herself. Will A realize that as he calms down? as he sees her over the days consistently being her old self - a person who cares and worries for others? her genuineness? After all how much and for how long can a person act without slipping up. Or has his KJ experience erased his belief that people can be genuine, again?
Should she have asked him where do you think I should be if not in this house and with you?

A has again shut the door of his heart. He almost opened it again today, more readily more willingly than before but it will be a while before he give in and opens his heart again.
Total recall of the post lehenga shopping scene with La - that day to hide his emotions he had yelled at her in anger. Then too he told her u mean nothing to me (& that is what he recalled when he thought he had lost her forever). Today he repeats u are nothing to me but he no longer yells - When he knows the truth, will he recall this moment?

Seeing her in the cold he hurts; what will happen to him the day he realizes the truth?
He nearly gives in but no he NEEDS TO / MUST punish her
And in the bargain punishes himself for not being to help her :(
And my heart totally went out to A today. Asked to choose between his life (Di) and his soul (K). (connect the scene after Di give saree and leaves and K also leaves - will there be a time in his life when the 2 most important women in his life will not be with him?
His resolve nearly crumbled (Again a throwback to the old A who cares when her eyes are closed, when she cannot see him caring)
Would he have covered her with the blanket had she not woken up?
Would he have carried her to the bed had she not woken up and started kicking?
Would he have said nothing to her if like yday she had remained seated on the bed instead of getting up in a rush? (did he feel she did not want to be with him in his room in this manner?) (ofc she did not want to have SR with him after such a shotgun wedding but that is besides the point for now..)
Their emotions and need to confront each other is bubbling just below the surface.
- yday she almost ripped into him but for Di coming
- today he would have given her a piece of his mind but his di was waiting at the door
Di ko pata chal jaayega - will K realize why he said tht? He has already mentioned her being good at acting twice now? Did he misinterpret her so what let her know as a continuation of her terrace dialogue?
K noticed but she was in no mood to argue with him.
Why does Di continue to be cordial to K?
Are K's empty hands an indication she will get those kangan for muh dikhaayi? I hope A puts them onto her and in the bargain sees the burn
HAA, I said the same thing in my post before I read this ... if Arnav had said something to Shyam at the door, would it have clicked in Khushi's mind that there is bad blood between them? And started the suspicions in her mind that this is all Shyam's doing?
DeleteAnd ODG is asking, questioning all the time now ... ok, he obviously didn't marry her for love, now it's not about wanting her either, he is disgusted for some reason ... so WHAT is that reason?! And because she is so clear-headed in her mind about Shyam, it doesn't even ring a faint bell that it could be that ... it has to be something between her and him, but what?!
Will that repeated remark about 'acting' raise her antennae?
Or will the hurt of this repeated "you don't mean anything to me" wipe it out ... that is one thing that always hurts her deeply ... and she hasn't yet realized that he says it when he means the exact opposite ... when she means the most to him, he has to tell her - and himself - that she means nothing ...
I also felt for him in that scene when Anjali and Khushi both leave him in anger ... he is alone, he is helpless, he is hurting ... and he can't go to either of the women he loves ...
I think that promo WILL happen ... today Khushi already challenged him ... tell your Di ... I don't care ... tomorrow she is very likely to say, I'm fed up of this, I didn't ask for this marriage, you did, you either tell me why, or I tell the world I don't know why either. Till now I've shielded you, at the cost of myself, my family, the respect from your family ... you've left me with nothing and you don't even tell me why ... well, now you HAVE TO!
And when she gets to know the truth, boy, is she going to be mad ...

I think walking in at Shyaam staring at Khushi all dolled up annoyed an already tightly wound ASR and Khushi rushing off the bed at the sight of him made it worse.
Loved the thought process that maybe at some point both Anjali and Khushi will walk away from ASR. Both are completely entitled. Anjali will wonder- he kept such a big lie from me, something that alters my whole life and he tormented an innocent girl and put our family through a fake now broken marriage? And Khushi well that road of redemption has well documented miletones...But in such a scenario Khushi still won't be able to help herself, she will still be there for him. Especially if Anjali isn't. She'll replay rakhi mandir scene on repeat and help him win back Anjali's trust and then leave.
They are both masochists.

Dia made a beautiful point in her post
- He has married her BUT
- He does not love her
- He does not lust for her
- He gets no happiness from the marriage
- Soon he may tell her he hates her (E24 segment)
- He is not talking to his sister
- His siter not talking to him is hurting him
And through this all, he keeps quiet..WHY?
- So what is his profit from this deal? (Remember at the breakup of La-Arnav engagement she asked him, "toh batayiye Mr. Raizada, is sagaai ko thodkar, La ka dil thodakr, appka kya fayda hua?"
Besdies La told Khushi - "Sirf tum hi ek ho jo unse woh sab keh paati ho, jo woh nahi sunna chahte" in that scene about her understanding irrespective of Arnav realizing anything.
Exactly to an outsider his actions seem totally non sensical. To his family at least their is a logical train of thought...ASR wanted to marry Khushi. He did it. just like he does whatever he wants however he wants.

ReplyDeleteDia, this show is very hatke and for me today a couple of scenes just reinforced that belief. No wonder this addiction!!
Let me share my random thoughts here on those very scenes...
First, the scene when Anjali knocks at the door and Arnav goes to wake Khushi up...otherwise an ordinary scene but just watch the expressions of Arnav when he calls out to Khushi...as if he is calling out to an accomplice-in-crime on being caught out..Classic..even in these troubled ARHI times, as an audience, I was forced to reflect on their special bond
Second, Arnav tells Khushi that DI will suspect...Khushi replies "toh" "let her know what u have done". At this point, Arnav sharply turns to her AS IF T SAY THE UNSAID WORDS "What about what u have done to her"....
These two characters really have a special relationship, warts and all. The audience can draw so many inferences frm their interaction...such has been their graph. A good love story is about that...the silences, the good times, the bad times...

As an audience (elders or children) do we not watch it to reinforce the belief that everybody has aa chance at happily ever after - sooner or later. I recently bought Tangled for my niece and ended up watching it myself.
I read somewhere that IPK is similar to Pride and Prejudice. I agree. Aren't Jane Austen love stories a combination of passion, anger, uncertainty and a deep rooted conviction that at the end the hero and heroine will unite. They said it in a fixed number of pages - IPK needs to keep running for as long as it needs to.
IF has gone nuts if I may say so. I am doing selective reading there. People need to realize
1. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Not everyone thinks alike
a. Symbolisms may be interpreted differently
b. Scenes may be liked differently
c. That does not give me the right to hate or like a person because he or she disagrees / agrees with me
2. One man's food is another's poison
3. Each person watches IPKND from a different perspective
4. Everyone is rooting for the leads
5. The audience has all started watching IPKKND at different points in time and got hooked to it at different points in time
6. It does not work for the people who watch it all the time
7. After a long time, IMO it has 2 characters who I can relate to, who seem humane and so are flawed and make mistakes
8. Serials are finally that daily soaps that need to run for as long as they can to make money for the PH and not a Disney movie that gets over within 2 hours or for that matter any movie that ends fast
9. Relationship are always complex. There is very rarely any absolute right or wrong.
10. And yes love stories always have ups and downs - that is what makes them awww
11. I do not write so everyone loves what I write. Painful or not, I need to accept it if no one comments on what I write.
12. IPK is an Indian soap. Majority audience is in India who watch it on TV. This audience to a large extent has been bred on the K style of soaps and expects drama. There is also the pressure from the channel and all that stuff I do not totally understand.
13. Actors are human. If ArHi have been blazing the screen the past 3 days they have been working non-stop sometime inthe near past. They also have been shooting for the SPA promo. certain scenes may get dragged till it all falls into place - think project timeline lapses
15. Serials are a way to engage the mind for a while away from the monotony / tribulations of day to day life (though IPK is an exception for me :>)
16. Love stories are perceived differently at different ages. Teenage love is different from married love most times.(Most on this blog are in their 30's. I am 30+ with 1 toddler and work in a back breaking job. IPK gives me a much needed excape from reality. this blog has given me virtual friends with whom I share ArHi in common. I smile seeing shiddats work. I laugh when they scold the characters. I cry when the characters hurt).
There may come a time when I drop off by the side of the road and stop watching this serial. I would have my reasons but I cannot demand that others do the same. I may hope that other miss me but I cannot complain and censure if they don't

I simply hate the bashing that goes on there whether it be by the ASR/BS droolers, in the name of constructive criticism, even by the staunchest Khushi supporters ...
Didn't the Beast throw out Beauty in the cold night in the snow to the wolves?
Didn't Othello suspect Desdemona of infidelity?
Aren't heroes in our favorite love stories, and even in classic love stories flawed and imperfect, and isn't that what makes them believable and relatable?
For the Georgette Heyer fans here, remember These Old Shades, Devil's Cud, Frederica ... the heroes there were flawed, one kidnapped the heroine to ruin her reputation, one made his heroine his page boy, one was a playboy ... they all reformed when the right woman came into their lives ... and that's what I love about the stories!
And yes, the practical points too ... SaRun CANNOT be onscreen for 20 minutes every day ... it is humanly impossible for them ... give them a break! In fact, one of the major pluses in the story the last few days is how it's showing the repercussions of an elopement on FAMILIES ... how it can break and tear apart relationships. And how marriages in India are between FAMILIES, not just between two individuals, which is one of the strengths of Indian marriages.
My uncle had a runaway marriage ... and it tore the family apart ... divided it into factions, and while his father and siblings accepted the relationship after some years, some other relationships remained broken till the respective people died ... they never got mended ever.
So there have to be family scenes, it's not just a saas-bahu show requirement, it's reality ... all relationships are affected, not just one ... and I'm really enjoying the way they're showing this here ... even the Payal-Khushi scene was worthy of analysis and discussion!
HAA ... please don't drop off ... this blog has become so much more fun because of you and the others here ... touch wood, we're all like-minded people who can enjoy, discuss and laugh and mourn together ... and never lose sight of the fact that this is a show which gives us a lot of pleasure ...

DeleteIPKKND is an exception. Its been almost an year and half that I have started watching a daily soap again. IPK are 2 main reasons One and foremost sanaya and second but again important and only reasons the characters which I can relate to. (ok and Dia with her updates for breaking my will)
Yes we enjoy the show, laugh and mourn, expect certain way the story to progress. We reason the actions of the characters logically given the circumstances. We agree to disagree with others views but its all in good health.
Like you said may be down the line I will stop watching the show but wouldn't ask others . And about virtual friends what can i say I have made great friends who in someway or other will stay with me for life . Dia and me met this way. We used to disscuss the whole episode for hours. But these have brought us together.It's connecting with the right people at the right time .

I love strong heroines and really flawed heroes...I love stories in which they don't get along at all and then gradually we go from dislike..to hate..to maybe like after all..to care for..to fall in love..to the obstacle..to the sacrifice and rescue and overcoming of obstacle...to the final declaration...what can I say..I have a type(blushing)...totally cliched but love Anastasia; and IPKKND in essence pretty much fits my bill of cliched but totally addictive love story. Lol...

@ Virtual coffe shop - agree. When I got married, I moved a country and continent losing the physical presence of very dear friends. I still miss them and my times with them spent drinking coffee or just yakking.
I stalked Dia's post for nearly 2 months before summoning up my courage to post a comment. And I enjoy my time here. I like it how shiddat is now as accepted as ODB and KJ ;) I love being able to pull people's legs here and them taking it sportingly. I love having something outside of routine and responsibilities, something I do only for me..:)
Oh my god. I love 'ten things I hate about you' one of my all time favourite feel good movies. That scene makes me smile like a retard every time. That and the one where he's singing on the bleachers on the PA system...Arnav bitwa is going to need many such grand gestures to win back KASR once she comes to know...

ReplyDeleteThe 'muh dikayein' ceremony will take place and while some may marvel at Khushi's beauty (making Arnav uncomfortable and irritated at the same time, for he knows that she is indeed beautiful but feels that her beauty is the one which has men like Shyam and NK flocking to her). Someone in the crowd may mention about how the girl despite being beautiful, appears to be characterless because she eloped and got married. Arnav cannot tolerate any third person casting aspersions on Khushi's character and he steps up and says that it is his decision to marry her but does not stay on to elaborate. In his absence Anjali puts his mother's bangles in Khushi's hand, lost in thoughts of what her chotey has done to their happy family. So she fails to see the burn mark in her hand.
Later that night Arnav notices his mother's bangles in her hand and gets wild. He says that she does not deserve to wear those bangles and snatching her hand, he proceeds to roughly remove the bangle from it. Khushi winces when the bangle rubs against her burnt skin when he is removing it. Arnav immediately spots the burn wound and is shocked. Khushi seeing that he had noticed the burn, snatches her hand from him and tries to cover it up but he snatches it back and asks her how she got it. Khushi retorts how does that matter to him since he seems to be bent upon making her suffer for some unknown reason. Arnav ignores her and rushes to the first aid box and taking the balm tube, returns to snatch her hand back and proceeds to apply the balm, trying to be as matter-of-fact about it and hiding his own pain seeing her hurt. Once he is done, he may brusquely tell her that she can sleep on the bed because he does not want his sister to suspect that not all is well between them. Khushi may demand an explanation for this but he just ignores her and takes the recliner, turning away from her and pretends to sleep.

DeleteI hope this does happen ... it makes perfect sense. Like Shwetha, our resident genie, said - ofcourse Arnav will support K at munh dikhayi ... and ofc he will be the one to see her burn ... no point her getting it otherwise ;)
And yep, sleeping arrangements will be sorted out - he cannot have her outside every night - it nearly killed him the first night ...
I REALLY want Khushi to start connecting the dots ... off to add that to the SHIDDAT list ...
Hey Gals.......hows everyone doing.......lovely Analysis Dia...I liked the episode, even though Arnav threw her out....since i knew where he is coming from, after watchin shyam oogle at a bride khushi, he has to react some way, had he got a chance to blast shyam, his reaction wud have been different....also i thought when he entered and saw khushi all decked up as a bride, he wasn't sure that he wud be able to stay away, thats why throwing her out, so that he doesnt loose contril..ala...diwali night...
DeletePayal putting blame on khushi was so wrong.....today i felt her hurt at being in dark bt khushi's decision....but the first wedding day, khushi did have a convo with payal before leaving and she assured khushi that her decision is right, and payal is with her...so why blame her now....maybe her dialogue was at fault like how you guys mentioned....i do feel sometimes the dialogue could have been different but give the same message....Sanaya looked pretty in the yellow saree...
loved the Arhi scene when anjali knocked.....partners in crime...so true....and khushi belatedly realizes that she is forced to be an accomplice....her questions was bangon...so what if anji comes to know....she is not another LA mr. ASR...she is gonna demand answers, you better be ready for this volcano....cause after knowing ur truth, when she erupts...you wont even know what hit you.......
loved your prediction Opti.....hope it happens this way.......when i saw the burn scene, even i thought it must be for Arnav to see and react so that khushi wonders, whats actually wrong with him....and when she reads his mom's letter, she will put her thinking cap on......

Hi Mona, IF is India Forums, which is an online forum where many of us here are members and post off and on ... it has forums for all TV shows. It gets VERY heated at times - today is one of those days, when ASR is being crucified because he left Khushi out in the cold. I used to post there regularly, but became irregular because there's too much "Barun is so HAWT" drooling and too much bashing of characters and actors there - since this place is so much more peaceful, I prefer it here! And I think many of the others who are regulars on IF and have moved here, feel the same way.
DeleteODG and ODB were terms for Khushi and Arnav we coined there - ODG = Our Dear Girl and ODB = Our Dear Boy ;)
Some people who claim to have sources on the sets of IPK and other shows, often post spoilers ... the latest spoiler is that the new promo, which will be aired next week, has Khushi telling Arnav that either tell me the reason for this marriage or I will ask you in front of Nani, Anjali and all ... and Arnav replying that if she does that, he will drop Payal back at her parents' home ...
Hey Dia......more spoilers for next week..next week is last for NK....also its gonna be equally hard for khushi, gonna have some intense Arhi scene....and loads of Arnav.....also some new entry.....
Deleteand shyams main enemy is Arnav now....i think shyam will plan to bump off arnav...this way he can keep both anji and khushi (his thoughts) ofcourse we already know the consistency of his plans......and if arnav really gets hurt then khushi will be all sad and worried...that mite some sense into our ODB's thick skull....and his dimaag might come back from the vacation....

ReplyDeleteAm in a really crappy mood today not cos of the show lol. Dealing with real life stuff havent had a chance to read any of the above will catch up tonite, but had to come here and do my bakwas so will feel better even if I have to control myself in real life. So here goes:
Day 1 : slept separately.
Day 2: Him on the couch her on the pool.
Day 3: Bitwa working on the computer, she comes for the night, GLARES GLARES GLARES at him and WALKS OUT TO THE POOL AND SHUTS THE DAMN DOOR IN HIS FACE.
Bitwa feesl guilty opens the door, gently keeps the pillow and the quilt near by her. She throws it and turns the other side and sleeps.
Bitwa goes back waits for her to fall asleep and gently picks her up and puts her on the bed while he takes the couch.
Day 4: Bitwa working again rather pretending ...she GLARES GLARES AND TRIES to open the door and it is locked. Bitwa shows her the key and puts it in his pocket and signals her take the bed.
And after she finds out why he married her and he suspects her with shyam,
Bitiya throws him out of the bedroom and makes him spend the night at the pool.
Have I have lost it, Yes I have. But I do feel loads better. Will be back with my bak bak later.
Oh HAA, I got the part about Muh Dukhai, what I didn't get was what role does a hubby have to play in the rasam?

And bitiya knows Raizada hai sleeping by the pool and having herself spent the night out, knows it will be tough,but yes I do want her to get irritated and shut the door on his face...Oh jo karna hai karo,lol.

The whole unit is so sweet *touch wood* ... and they all seem to be really friendly. Have noticed Sanaya and Daljeet seem to get on really well, so do Barun and Akshay and even Abhaas, Sanaya and Deepali bond well, Deepali and Akshay ditto ... they all seem to be one big happy family.

The kitchen politics well I was actually okay with it, see it is a necessary evil, if we watch it for Arhi, there is a sizeable crowd that watches it for family angle too and compared to other shows it is stil understated. So no problemo for me on that account.

Payal and Khushi are sisters and pretty close one at that. Payal is not fooled, she knows there is a reason and if she has to provoke khushi into telling that by using harsh words, she will do it. Agree with you you can't have Nani & Anjali accepting her outright. They have always treated Khushi as their own almost as equal as Arnav which is why the disappointment. And theek hai let them give the cold treatment to khushi, I am keen to see Arnav's reaction to it.
As much what he did was wrong the difference between him and Shyam is When Shyam was torturing Babuji, he had a sadistic pleasure out of it. Here, even though Arnav is being mean to her, he is not happy and suffering more.
No it does not make it right what he did, but there is hope for Arnav right.
Ego: Yup, he should have thought, be in terms of looks or money he easily wayy better than Shyam. I guess the thing is ODB knows for Khushi money or looks don't matter, it is something else that he thinks Shyam has (PUKes) that makes her love Shyam than him. There is this insecurity Arnav has cos everything he thinks makes him such a catch, she gives a damn about that.

I am hoping she walks in on an argument between arnav and shyam. Unless she does that I dont see any chance. See apnay director saab bhi itnay chaalu hain, Khushi from where she was sitting totally missed the glaring looks they were giving each other and her penchant for running away when Shyam is near her seeing Arnav, I doubt it. Unless she sticks around or walks in on one of the argument or Shyam blurting out something I dont see it happening now.

DeleteI agree with Shwetha...Anjali is in neutral damage control mode.Not supportive mode. The warmth and aapnapan she had with Khushi when Khushi was helping La was the real Anjali Khushi equation. And she'll probably be the first to melt and accept Khuhsi, Khuhsi will probably do something for a pregnant Anjali-its the sure shot way into everyone at RM's heart (except Arnav who'll think she's faking it- but nevermind him right now).
DeleteAnd that relationship is going to undergo a lot of duress late on because whichever way you spin the story bottom line. Anjali's husband wanted Khushi over her. Don't think its realistic for anyone to not put part of the blame on the person even if they know all the facts. It's more of a you exist and my husband loves you not me sort of reaction. So eventually I don't know but right now Anjali will be the first to come around...

ReplyDeleteI have been saying since last 2/3 epis that is a game now b/w Arnav and Khushi - recall gargi's awesome chess board analogy. Shyam is getting all riled up. He is in a corner. Anjali is pregnant, Khushi is married and Arnav knows. He dare not leave RB as Khushi has made it very clear that she cares 2 hoots for him, he cannot have Khushi as she is Arnav's wife and he has asked Shyam to just stay away. Arnav is very alert and not letting a single chance got to show Shyam how he feels by words or emotions. He has already warned Shyam about reconciling to a life with his Di.
The day Shyam said RB is the obstacle b/w Khushi and me, many here said, Arnav will now replace Anjali with himself which is what he did. So to Shyam, Arnav is the villain. He will try to harm him. I would not be surprised to see a scene similar to Khushi's supposed accident but this time with Arnav hurt and Khushi getting all worked up. The only time she has been in a spot with him was the low sugar level and at that time girl was not even in love with him. Now she has feelings and is his wife.

DeleteI really think they're going to milk this track for as long as they can without alienating audience too much. I'm sure the ME will have some revelation but I don't think Khushi and Arnav's misunderstanding are going away yet. The mutual hatred has to peak. If the cv's want to carry the show forward they're going to have to show them falling for each other all over again. Perhaps separation won't be shown (Khushi decides that Nani and Anjali have been through enough and anyway it'll bring shame to her family so because of some family related reason stays back) plus easier for cv's to show scenes between them if she's living in RM otherwise they have to show her coming back and give a reason each time (e.g. Payal's not well or pregnant or Anjali's delivery etc)
Though personally I'm still rooting for some kind of separation even if it just between them and for a day and he begs her to come back for 'families' sake and she agrees though strictly for family and makes it very clear she loathes him. Because I want that scene where she physically walks out on him and he hear's both Khuhsi and Anjali's words echo.
As for the ME..its not that far..I sort of both want and don't want Khushi to find out about ASR's reason. If she does she'll confront him they're unlikely to sort this out so soon so ASR will tell her he doesn't believe her, I prefer it now when she hasn't justified herself, at least some scope of redemption for ASR. If she tells him and he doesn't believe her its going to be hard to come back from that.
As far as the new entry... I hope its not a female character. We have enough vocal females don't need another. I absolutely will hate it if they bring in a love interest for ASR in the present situation. We want to see ASR and Khushi's angst and fighting and some cleverly interspersed rabba ve moments. Not ASR falling for someone else(who will actually turn out be the evil hag he thought Khushi was...No thanks). As for new entry being a guy. We already had Shyaam, Nk and ASR fall for Khushi. No more please. Let her handle Romeos 1,2 and 3 no more. Although I have to ask is it confirmed that there will be a new entry?

DeleteFor this ME, I will be happy to have the margin of doubt raise its head in Arnav's mind or him realize that Shyam was lying about Khushi's involvement. Like you say, If Khushi realizes first and Arnav does not believe it will be ugly and a very fatal breach. Let Arnav realize and let him try to make it up to Khushi who mets out the Silent treatment to him.
The spoilers on IF seem to indicate that at the end of this track, Arnav may be a a deewana behind Khushi. Also more scope for the story to go forward this way. Khushi will begin to fall for him again and at that juncture, Shyam may play mischeif again and tell her why Arnav actually married her leading to a separation of sorts. But at least they will stick to the tagline of Khush saying "kaash main aapse nafrat kar paati". Arnav would still not have confesses at that time I guess so Khushi will still believe that he only did it for his sis and not out of love.
As ofr new entry - not confirmed I think and let it be a male doc for Anji. She does need an Ob-Gyn man :)

And Bitwa has to move heaven and earth to convince her he does love her enough to stay the course this time ...

ReplyDeleteIn the back of my mind I’ve been wondering what happened in the past that shook the Raizada’s so much and since Nani mentioned it last Thursday I started thinking again.
Firstly the very fact that Arnav and Anjali live with their Nani instead of their Dadi shows that no one on his father’s side of the family accepted them. We also know that not only did his father’s family not accept Arnav and Anjali, their chacha went a step further and kicked them out on the street. (In the very first episode Arnav returns the favour.)
It makes me think that perhaps Arnav’s father eloped with nani’s daughter and the family did not accept her and their marriage. Unlike the Raizadas, Arnav’s father’s family must have been far more discontent and against the marriage than the Raizadas are abput Arnav and Khushi’s marriage. Never accepting it and thus eventually throwing the children borne out of said marriage onto the street when their parents died. (Which is extreme to say that least and that’s without considering Arnav was 15 already so they’d lived with them for minimum 18 years as a part of their family.)
This makes Nani’s reaction to both the La live in episode and ASR eloping with Khushi understandable. She’s been burned before and seen her daughter and grandchildren suffer and does not want the same destiny for her own family and great grandchildren.
The other far more sordid possibility mentioned on R&R was about Arnav’s father having an extra marital affair. This could have been;
1. With Nani’s daughter while he was married to someone else .( Doubtful, Nani would have bestowed better values and her daughters reaction would probably be along the lines of what Khuhsi’s were when advanced upon by a married man- utter repulsion)
2.With someone else while married to Nani’s daughter. (Like mother like daughter?) Yikes that would be bad. And what was Nani’s daughter’s reaction if this is what happened. Is it possible she went down the road of suicide? One of the reasons Anjali’s wedding got called off? One of the reasons Arnav’s so petrified of Anjali’s reaction?
Also it’s interesting to note that whenever they talk of their parents Arnav and Anjali only talk about memories with their mother. Has it categorically been said that their father died too? Or did he just leave his family and run away with someone and their mother died/commited suicide. I can’t recollect whether they say both parents are dead and if it was an accident or not. I don’t think they’ve specified cause of death as they’ve done in Khuhsi’s parents’ death (car accident).
Also maybe I’m over thinking this but did the letter with Kangans feel like a sort of sign off. I wondered about this during the La engagement when they first read the letter. Does someone write such a letter for their 15 year old son’s bride who isn’t going to come for more than a decade? Wouldn’t Arnav’s mother still have been using them back then, so why write the letter unless she wasn’t planning to be around?
They keep replaying that scene with their mother running and then adolescent Arnav’s ear piercing scream of agony. Did she fall or slip or was she pushed or did she jump?
Circumstantial perhaps...I honestly don’t know what to make of it. Perhaps it’s something else altogether...but it really leaves things at a very morbid juncture if their mother did in fact commit suicide and if history is repeating itself with Anjali as far as the extra marital affair is concerned. Also if Arnav knows all about his parents this whole situation with Khuhi, Shyaam and Anjali would hurt all the more not to mention the added complication of his own feelings for Khushi...
Guess we need some more clues but couldn’t help put this down.

DeleteMy feelings have been along the second possibility that you mentioned ... that Arnav Anjali's dad fell for another woman and maybe wanted to run away with her ... or was living with her secretly ... and when the truth came out, their mom committed suicide ... so the references to his dad both during the La track and this time ...
And because the mother died, the father was not there, and had blackened the family name and izzat, the chacha threw them out ...
Another possibility is that the mom got killed by mistake - by the other woman's husband - and I was thinking that maybe Khushi's mom was the other woman ... if they are planning to tie up Khushi and Arnav's past ... that would give rise to the next round of love-hate once the Shyam saga is over.
Wasn't there the sound of a gun-shot in that flashback?
I was also wondering whether the father had actually died or not ... but during the barsi, they showed both the pictures with the garland, and the garland fell off the mom's picture, not the dad's ... so again, another puzzle in the making. Arnav's bitterness against middle class girls made me feel that his dad did have an affair with a middle class girl ... could that have been Khushi's mom? But Khushi was already around eight at the time of the tragedy, so for her mom also it would have been an extra-marital affair - too complicated!
I never thought about that possibility with the letter, but you're right, why would anyone leave a letter like that for her son when he was just 15? SAying those kangans were for her son's bride is one thing, but leaving a letter like that is strange - as though she knew she was not going to be around.
The unravelling of the past is going to be another interesting track, really hope the cv's do it well.
I think Garima is somehow tied to Arnav's past although she may not know that as yet. My hunch is that her name was linked to Arnav's Dad (she may or may not have had an affair with her father but the society may have labelled her as a homebreaker). We are told that she had suffered some public humiliation. She has also married a widower with a daughter, maybe because of her past baggage. It would also explain why Shashi is a more tolerant and sensible person who values people more than society whereas Garima seems to be the opposite, having been badly judged by society.
DeleteArnav does not use his paternal surname. So Garima may not have been aware he is Mr.Mallik's son. As there are no pictures of the parents in any prominent place in the house, she has not yet seen how his father looks like. She wasn't there for the barsi.
If indeed Garima had something to do with Arnav's past, it can come up to bite Arshi in future. Since Payal is not her real daughter, she may escape the storm but Khushi being related by blood to her (her niece), she may feel the heat. I have a feeling it would be Shyam who would dig their shared past up and make it look ugly. He could even imply that Khushi was a love child born out of wedlock to Arnav's dad and Garima and her sister raised her up as her own till she died and Garima then adopted her own daughter. This could make it impossible for Arnav and Khushi to get properly married as it amounts to incest. We may get to see a lot of drama after which they will prove that Khushi is indeed her parents' daughter and no way connected to Arnav.
On the letter, the way it has been justified by the PH is that the mother is saying "of course, I will be one to make u wear this kangan one day but I want to tell u something about my son" Don't ask whats the logic in this case too other that tellyland creative license, i guess.

Arnav's dad is a pariah and by extension so is his family. At the time of La live in argument, I think Nani said Pyaar is Barbaadi (though note she does not object to Payash love - why cos it was brought to the note of the family and the alliance is family driven?) SO this leads me to think that Arnav's mom and dad eloped and married and their marriage never got fully accepted by the family. Makes the chacha theowing out 2 kids sound more plausible.
But after marrying for love, perhaps Arnav's dad strays of the path and is enamoured by garima (Dia I find him having an affair with Khushi's mom incestuous and non-palatable). She may not return the affection but what if he creates a situationfor her akin to Arnav's fashion show defamation of Khushi so that Garima loses her stature in society. Perhaps in a bid to move away from those taunts, Khushi's parents decide to leave town with her and meet with an accident (I think it i sgenrally mentioned that their past is linked but not that Khushi is responsible for Arnav;s past). Garima adopts Khushi and marries Shashi.
Meanwhile on Anjali's wedding day, imagine a scene wherein Arnav;s dad tells his mother that he no longer loves her or she witnesses a scene b/w Arnav's dad and garima like the Shyam-Khushi yeww scene. She is devastated and in that frame of mind takes her life.
The twist her would be if the chacha lusted after garima like Shyam, Arnav's dad was trying to help her and console her. Scene misconstrued by Arnav's mom. She takes her life and his father takes his as he loves his wife too much. Family thinks its cos of the affair. (Yikes..too cheesy HAA!!) *ducks flying objects*
On a daughter's wedding a death that too a suicide would cause rumours to fly fast and furious. Wedding stops. On the barsi, I think they did mention that Arnav's dad too is dead (or is it ina Anji Arnav convo post hospital hug). But how Arnav's parents die is not clear.
Tying it back to Anji & essentially your scenario 2 Arnav is worried Anji in her present fragile state will take her life like his mother did. (What is with wedding days and tragedies in IPK??) Also Anji tells Arnav do u recall the conditions under which your jiju accepted me into his life - conflict of my logical mind - a mariiage immediately after the earlier fiasco (nearly 10/12 years ago from present time) would not tally with Anji Shyam being married only for 3/4 years.
Scenario 1 seems unlikely as Nani loves her daughter and given nani's high morals, it nullifies this scenario.
As for writing that letter, I rewatched the kangan scene. My take Arnav did not know of it till Anji brought it up at the time of enagagement. He knew they were his Ma's kangan but he did not realize she intended them for his wife or that she wrote a letter. Anji knows cos her ma told her about it and she teased her Ma about it. (there is a dialogue to this effect).And like Rekha said, there is a opening there cos of the statement that "I know I will be there to put these on you but I need to tell you a secret anyways"
I felt when Anji read out that letter, Arnav was surprised at how well his mom had profiled him and told his wife to beware and be careful of that temper but be ready to meet loads of love if she was able to get past that anger.

at Muh Dikhaayi if(rather when) Khushi is getting the kangan and letter, pls pls let Arnav have a FB of this scene. And let Khushi read out the letter in the privacy of their room and have FBs of his gussa and dher saara pyaar (Teej, bandagement, babuji's hospital bill, red bangles, accident aftermath, bangle hurt aftermath, pattal, waiter, sangeet)

DeleteMean to write this too earlier but got distracted by all those dreamy FBs; With Garima being the "link" Mamiji gets a chance to taan maaro about the Gupta sisters have a history of creating doom and gloom for the Raizadas.
Besides Khushi being the tigress she is will never leave Arnav for thier past and neither will he let her go if they pass this test of love and build trust and understanding. But if it is a matter of her jiji's happiness, her family's honour, she will do it in a blink (huh!! make any sense?)
p.s: have u made any more guesses or sitting around for next week for me to do the maha reveal?
Yep I am totally determined to find out what happened... The rest of the story we as the audience know whats happening and its the characters who are in the dark. However, with regards to the past the characters know (although the cv's may not have actually decided what they're going to do) and we don't...its really irking me...hehe
DeleteI hope that even if they link Garima's past (though she's not a very good actress, buaji's much better so hope Garima doesn't have too much of a role)to Arnav's they keep Khushi out of the equation because anything where Khushi and Arnav are even remotely related (I don't care if we're talking third cousin once removed)would be a total complete deal breaker. Couldn't watch that.
I think the Extra marital affair idea has possibilities but hope the cv's don't go over the top and make it ridiculously implausible and melodramatic. Ugh we can guess as much as we want but they're not spilling this secret till later unfortunately:-(
H..A..A..yeah these three letters appear in sooo many Indian names that in conjugation with the remaining 24 alphabets which may or may not be repeated the permutation and combinations would take me way longer then this week...so no more guessing..more praying for shiddat to come true..kill 2 birds with one stone-so to speak.
One more possibility floating on the forum ... Khushi's older brother was the intended bridegroom for Anjali. It would become the next hurdle in the ArHi relationship for sure, till it could be proved that the brother was actually not responsible for abandoning Anjali on the wedding day.
DeleteTwo things were mentioned in the original character sketch - that it is Garima who is very uptight about what society says, because she has a shady past. And that Arnav and Khushi's past is linked - I think one promo actually said that Khushi is responsible for his past ...
So your thought, HAA, of Garima being involved with either Arnav's dad or his chacha, is plausible. And if it was the chacha, and Arnav's mom thought it was his dad, then again, history repeating itself ... Garima blamed for something she never did, and paying the price ... Arnav's mom commits suicide out of shame on Anjali's wedding day, Anjali's wedding gets cancelled because of that ... and Arnav's dad ... does what? Arranges to have Garima sent off to safety because she is being threatened by the chacha? And is misunderstood by everyone, especially Nani because she feels that him being concerned for Garima shows that he was involved with her?
The chacha has to be involved somewhere, because Arnav's first act of revenge was to kick chacha out of Sheesh Mahal.
Need to think this one through ;) will come back with more thoughts later!

Deleteyes past needs thiniking. That history repating itself was just something I felt might come up given the CVs tendency to recall and relate.
Arnav's dad am guessing he just killed himself or was killed by his chacha - in the first case cos he could not take the shame nad his wife got killed or in the second, the chacha a 10x powerful version of creep realized that by killing Arnav's dad he would be able to pin all blame on him and also remove Garima's only supporter / witness in the bargain.
Perhaps when the past reveals, it will also help Arnav reconcile himself with his past and his father's actions and in the process heal. Or his dad may be alive (perceived dead).
Point to note is Garima does not know this is the Mallik family. Nani and Garima do not recognize each other.
As for NEW ENTRY, I am somehow not for it being Khushi's brother. Someone who comes and beats the crap outta Arnav. ODG is capable of doing that herself and I want ArHi to sort it out themselves. They always have. Besides, she was 8 when her parents died. Where is the logic of intoducing a brother now. She would have known she had a brother and why did not Garima bring him along with Khushi?
Rather let the new entry not be a love interest of wither Arnav or Khushi. Dhruv was mentioned somewhere in some character sketch as being Mami's elder son - After haldi and nani's taunt about skeletons in mami's closet, hmm possible?
Also, I want them to always have this bond of pain, bond of loss (of being orphans). It was one of the things that got them together emotionally initially. And I somehow always want them to have that.
And given Khushi maiyya's self sacrificing nature, no do not want another fellow on whose name she can go do become a martyr all over again
Has Khushi ever acknowledged the extent of her feelings for Arnav? He realized that he loved her, still loves her and is so torn about the way things have turned out. But she needs to realize how she feels about him....and when Shyam starts to attack Arnav, (which he definitely will) Khushi will be the one to save/take care of her pati! She will learn to love him and he will learn to trust her.

And Nani again says that 'Chote unke baap par gaye hain', when ODB announces his marriage to ODG.
Either way, cant wait for Monday to come ! Weekends are spent waiting for ARSHI and watching old episodes to relive the love!

DeleteIf I try to think from her viewpoint, I'm not sure Khushi can be sure of her own feelings right now, or that she has even had time to sit and analyse them. Arnav starts blowing hot, she promptly starts softening towards him, and bam, he's back to cold again ... If he would stay soft, Khushi would be in his arms by now ... she has never really fought him off any time he softened. Which is why he NEEDS to realize what he has done to her and go through all the remorse etc. before she realizes her love, otherwise he will have a cakewalk ...
She's just following her instincts right now, and the knowledge she has gained of him over the last few months ... but I think the way he is behaving, if Khushi did start to realize this was love, she would fight it off as much as Arnav is fighting his ... so I would say let her realization wait for a while longer ... let his realization and his remorse come first.
Nahh! i kind of disagree with you here Dia. it being the weekend and no fresh episodes means revision of the last few - and it reiterated my thought that Khushi does know of her feelings - her happiness at receiving the bangles, the bindi scene -(like you said - that was his first public mark on her - she could not have taken it lightly - it meant a lot and she knew it) and finally her dialogue when she read the message on the mirror -she was definitely waiting for ODB (sorry, HDB) to speak!!

DeleteI think Khushi knows she loves Arnav - recall that seeing Arnav everywhere epi (pre-Diwali)with her telling her beloved DM, I asked you for one ishaara, you gave me so many (spoof DTPH where madhuri says uparawala will give me one sign and I will know that this is my soulmate). Also she has been trusting Arnav over time. She trusted him to do teh right things for Payash and when Payal worried about Mamiji accepting her, Khushi consoled her saying Arnavji ne kaha hai na woh sambhaal lenge" don't worry jiji. (Besides in matter of the heart I think girls / women are always smarter and more perspective ;>)
Also, post sangeet when the Dhak Dhak returned, with murti in hand Khushi went, DM aap phir se shuroo ho gayee.
She does not know how he feels about her and hence keeps quiet.Bitwa's fault - too many mixed signals all the time. She also does not know for the Arnav-La breakup. (bitiya never let bitwa tell her why he did what he did). On Payash wedding, at the terrace, she was expecting Arnav to come and tell her she makes a difference in his life (love dunno, maybe he likes her?) gets put off each time by his wgo, his unwillingnesss to accept defeat, accept he made a mistake or he was wrong (only time he has done that was apologizing to payal but even then Khushi accidentally heard it). She never heard what he told La about not meaning to hurt her.
And she has not yet connected La's dialogue about Rajkumar, ASR, and Khushi being samajhdhaar....
She loves him Dia and hence keeps quiet and protects him so much more than others. Almost as much as her jiji and family. And it is her love and forgiving nature that is gonna make bitwa's RTRW easier!
Actually I agree with Dia... It's not that she's not in love with ASR it's more that she hasn't fully acknowledged it to herself and after Diwali she's treading carefully ... And just when she was about to accept that there was something there he blew ice cold again.

Exactly! Right now he's on full payback mode and she doesn't even know what for she's hardly feeling like let alone love towards him...They'll both always care about each other and love each other even when they hate each other..but the characters haven't reached that conclusion yet.

Its clear she's thought about it, even after the bangle scene she thinks about it, but she doesn't accept she loves him yet(even earlier she's reluctant to accept it-attributing the dhak dhak to acidity...she's more aware this time around) She knows she's happy about his change in attitude towards her(i'm talking about -pre shyaam exposure- affectionate Arnav) but hasn't fully acepted it. Perhaps once Arnav would have outright declared his feelings for her she might have accepted her own feelings but of course that's not happening anytime soon.(After Diwali fiasco I really don't think Khushi would have accepted to herself that she loves him, she would have continued with her humme kyun farak padega? or rather aapko kyun farak padta hai and unless he told her kyun farak padta hai she wasn't about to make any progress with acknowledging her own feelings)
In that sense their equation is a little lopsided...up until now it was all really about Arnav accepting their social inequality and him falling in love with her, she's basically never really rebuked/refused him at all. After this Shyaam track, once she finds out why Arnav married her, her journey from disbelief, distrust and hate to trust, understanding and eventually love will begin and then I think it'll be a more balanced equation.
And I agree with you wholeheartedly Dia and its the first thing I said after the episode they get married and walk into RM- I want a separation track. For whatever duration but there has to be a scene where she physically walks out of his life. Past him. And he cant do anything beg, apologize, threaten, blackmail or bribe her(he's done all things to her except the first) to make her stay.
Random thoughts:
ReplyDelete- If ODB threatens to take Payal back (and like i said before hopefully she will say something about Akash having a say in this!) - And also - Could not help remembering that when they were planning to get Payash together, ODB&ODG had promised to be in on it as a team! "Whatever has happened between us or what may happen, we are together on this", said Khushi and ASR shook on it! Hope she reminds him of the promise!
Here is a plot.
ReplyDeleteWhat if Shyam is unable to keep a check on his carnal urges since Khushi is right there in front of him but he cannot have her. In desperation he kidnaps Khushi and takes her to some desolate place to molest and rape her. In the meantime, Payal notices that Khushi is missing and searches for her. Anjali, in the meantime is trying to locate Shyam and is not able to get through to him. When Payal learns that Shyam is missing too, she panics and alerts Arnav that the two are missing. Arnav gets wild, thinking that the two have eloped.
Payal, in the meantime, ridden with the guilt for having hidden Shyam's truth for so long, blurts out how Shyam had duped the Guptas by staying as a PG in their house and leading everyone to believe he is a bachelor. When the truth came out, Khushi was the first one to want to tell it all to Anjali but had to retract when she realised how emotionally fragile she was. Hearing this Arnav is shocked and ashamed of himself. Payal urges him to find Khushi before Shyam harms her and Arnav rushes in search of her.
On the way he remembers all the incidents that tie up Khushi to Shyam, right from the day before his engagement to La when she bumped into him near the pool to her sorrow on the day of the Sangeet, the terrace scene and all that happened after, where he tortured her.
He reaches her just in time to save her honour and throw a few punches at Shyam. The police who have been alerted in the meantime land there to take the guy in custody.
Back at the RM, Anjali may have overheard Payal's conversation with Arnav and goes into a deep depression. She loses the baby in the process.
On their way back Arnav confesses the reason why he forced her into marriage. Khushi is appalled at what he had thought of her and although he apologises for suspecting, she is shattered at his lack of trust in her. He does not get around to confessing his love because the phone rings just then and Akaash tells him that his Di has been hospitalised.
They rush to the hospital where they find that Anjali is still in a state of deep shock and does not respond to the world around her. Khushi tells Arnav that she will stay around to take care of Anjali but she can never trust him again. Arshi then help her recover in their own way. During this time Arnav yearns for Khushi's love and moves heaven and earth to win her over but she maitains a stoic silence. Their love for each other keeps deepening although they are do not confess.
In the meantime Shyam escapes from the prison and shoots at Arnav. Arnav survives but it rudely shakes up Khushi who admits her love to Arnav and they reunite. Shyam is locked up in the prison again.
Arrangements are being made for a grand wedding as per all the rituals. Just as Arshi are about to tie the knot, a new bombshell drops. Someone from Arnav's past springs up and tells that Arshi cannot be married because they are sired by the same father. This shocks everyone. This leads to the unfolding of Arshi's past. Garima is supposed to be the link. How this gets sorted out and Arshi finally find that there is nothing to stop them from getting married can keep us occupied for another couple of months.

However it will be much more fun to have arnav realize it thru a series of small incidents wherein he sees that shyam does not know khushi very well inspite of his claims of deewanaapan and junoon. Small things
- like her thinking of her parents as stars,
- her wearing her mother's payal,
- her being afraid of the dark,
- the reason she hangs stars over her bed,
- her fear for speeding vehicles
- her being an orphan (am not sure if shyam is aware that she is not garima and shashi's daughter; do not recall it being mentioned anyplace specifically)
If Arnav, a veritable stranger knew / was told then shyam the love of her life should know. Time to show that famous dimaag of arnav's.Also, it would be nice to have babuji recover enough to say something to Arnav about Khushi. He has been Khushi's strength always. He has always believed in "bonds of the heart are string" paradigm and in his first meeting with Arnav, his reactions made me feel that he saw something in Arnav.
He shoud connect these dots and start querying the gaps and gradually let the love in him rule perhpas a softening of his behaviour towars khushi - not yet love but no more hurt.
This will confuse khushi even more - blow hot at time and blow cold at others - she will yet again try connecting the dots and perhaps confront Shyam. Shyam may tell her the reason arnav had married her and blurt out the misconception he sowed in arnav's mind. Khushi will be hurt but given the slimeball Shyam is it will be easier for her to swallow than coming from Arnav direct and maybe make her say something to the effect that she is now Mrs. ASR whatever be the reasons they got married.
With Khushi unwilling to see his POV and Arnav taunting him, Shyam may snap and resort to kidnapping.Also Shyam if he is as smart will notice the change of behaviour from Arnav's end leading him to despair that things may be patching up b/w them. By now he is no far gone that Anji, her money, the baby nothing matters. Its just the challenge b/w him and Arnav and about having Khushi. Period.
Rest of the flow I am with you. Khushi;s nature is such that she would not deny staying back to help Anjali. When she can feel guilty for Payal's 1st wedding breaking, she could always feel bad about hiding it from Anjali and letting things come to a head.
About the part on the past, yep just as ArHi are patching up, there could be a scene where Arnav tries to tell her the reason for his line of thought linking it to the past (Mona's thought) and then things follow from there.
i feel the kidnapping will be too melodramatic, filmy (and so says the one addicted to a love story!!! something more in the line of ASR saving her from KJ when non one else is in the house is more probable)
Deletebut i so so agree that the famous dimaagh should come back from the FR and take its position back from the green eyed monster living in its place! and yes he needs to start thinking - get reminded of what Khushi is like actually - and i was also thinking about time Shashi Babwa got a bit more screen space - he does not have to be completely ok but can still communicate with his SIL! i was hoping for a scene (once he gets suspicious of Shyam's false statement)where ODB goes to FIL and asks him - after all ASR is not likely to talk to the women in the house, he is not comfortable with them, but the FIL he could talk to and basically get enough from him to know about snakewa!
AND YES to a wardrobe change for ASR, cant stand those shiny shirts and horrid suits anymore!
At the moment, my mind is blank as to HOW the truth can come out in front of Arnav ;) Kidnapping seems a definite possibility, even more, Shyam losing his cool and cornering Khushi again on the terrace - that seems to be the designated spot for Shyam-related matters - maybe Shyam follows Khushi up to the terrace, Arnav sees him follow her and follows them both, and actually hears the entire conversation this time ... confrontation happens and Khushi discovers the real reason for the marriage ... she is shattered and leaves RM pronto ...
DeleteArnav decides that Shyam is beyond redemption and tells Anjali, and Anjali of course collapses ... by this time, she has somewhat made up with Khushi, so Arnav goes to call Khushi to confirm the truth only to find her missing ...
I WANT A SEPARATION ... I want Arnav to really tadpofy for Khushi and her to be missing for a day or two at least!!!

DeleteHappened to me over the weekend. Between what is happening, what could happen, what we want to happen, mind went kaput!
On one hand given the current angst I want them to come together and want some more together scenes - recall the bangle in pool and both reaching out *THUD*
But once we have had our fill of ArHi and are in a better frame of mind, yep Khushi will have to be separated from Arnav (sorry babe!) I told Shwetha teh same last week, yes yes they will separate but let them first meet.
Btw, Shiddat Genie, you have been MIA over the weekend. Real life playing games?

- say something nice to Khushi to make her smile and call her 'My Deesi Girl'
- Tell Khushi that though Nannav is a Raavan he is actually god at heart / maybe let slip some childhood incident
- Tell Arnav about what a sincere and honest person Khushi is who totally believes in bringing joy to others livs (he needs the reminder NK, we keep telling him all the time, still..)
- And make a CD from the camcorder and give it to Khushi and tell her she can see all that she missed at the wedding.Guessing rest of the family will still be in mouring and not be wanted to be reminded of that day. Khushi will play it in their room when oh Arnav happens to be there or even better NK tells him to play it for her on his laptop.
- Print copies of the family picture and hand them over to ArHi - u know the ones where she is dangling those beautiful red bangles in his face (yep bitwa needs things to be in his face before he sees / does anything)

Though I think Sobti does look good in spite of the shiny brown shirt. Not in the IF people -his looks are brutally murdering me-(what does that even mean?)kind of way...more in a he's one of the best looking tv serial leads.(you have to be hot to work as a lead in any kind of serial/movie -industry prerequisite)
Oh I hope they show ASR looking at the same pictures with nostalgia later on during the separation track...he see's a the picture with the bangles and remembers 'better days'...

just caught today's SBS / SBB update on IF. looks like more drama and glycerin this week. And in one scene noted Khushi wearing Ma's kangans (the latest model). They were suitably vague about the whole thing. And SI was looking sooo pretty. Bitwa you are an idiot. I hope your wife throws you out of your room just cos of this reason if nothing else. Looks like more dress a day installment for now.
Wonder how many lehengas and sarees Anji hoardes in her wardrobe just for such emergencies :P
I am gonna call them Beauty and the Beast for now. Will not be too surprised if Khushi throws the rolling pin at him given how much he is irritating her these days:)
As for the 3 piece suit and waistcoat, I actually like men in formals *gush* but yep when he is anyways at home all the time he needs some more non formal clothers. And they need to cut doen on the hair gel too. I realized he looks nice with slightly wavy short hair not all gelled up into spikes. more natural, more believable.

Like Gargi said, it is in the middle of her armful of bangles ; no mention of how it got thr tho. Gargi agree not improved version ya. I liked the original bangles as well as the box. They looked like khaandaani kadaas u know.(Someone on IF made a guess that perhaps these have been chosen for their higher tendency to get stuck in clothing)
I am kinda getting bored with the drama. Where were all these people during the wedding. Put up with it for most of 2 weeks. Now I want SP to take a chill pill and leave the newly weds alone. I mean comeon people they are newly weds. Just bcos Payash cannot get on with it why are our ArHi being interrupted...*sulky pout* They better keep this nakhra very very short.

You said it fight ot make love - now being an Indian soap, the 2nd option is non-existent so fight. Sign if this was a western show, the leads would have made out so many time orredi. Or perhaps Arnav's walking (RTRW) is making him sweat resulting in very bad body odour ;)
As for SP drama, I know but its very urgghh. Today was having a crappy work day and then crappy drma dialogue kinda made me go all wonky.
Past few weeks if you notice, these guys do all the dhaansu things around Wed / Thurs leaving us hanging over the weekend. some crumbs on Mon and then wait till Wed. TRP ka khela hai sab TRP ka khela hai..
Btw was LOL at the SBS dialogues of Anji and Nani and VO. VO says comeone guys beware eventually all the raizada wealth will come to this girl - true we have been already harping on it here. nani says we have given her this house (and I am like ha it was never urs to give baba) and ofc the raizada name..but bitwa still call her KKG nani. Anji says Arnav and Khushi came suddenly o not prepared with gifts and made do with chocolates (for a sec I thot oh maybe he made her come down for the rasam then the next instant I recalled Anji's never ending wedding lehengas availability and I laughed saying she did not have any other gift then chocolates..come on!)
