30/7 - Epi 153 ... Farewell, Paro

Tuesday 30th July

She came on our screens chasing a blue butterfly ... a laughing six year old girl, full of smiles and laughter. She grew into a beautiful young woman, with few words, but always a smile for everyone,  an unshakeable faith in Bholenath, and an ever-optimistic outlook on life.  A girl who believed that there was good in everyone, and refused to believe the bad, till she had no choice.

And so firm was her belief in the good, that the bad ran away from her ... except for one last tragic time.
She believed in her protector, her husband ... and he stood firm and tall in front of her ... except for one last tragic time.

She asked for very little for herself ... happiness for her, was made of the small joys of life ... Orphaned at the age of six, all she ever wanted was a family of her own, a home she could call her own.
Her Bholenath gave her that ... and so grateful was she, that she wanted nothing more. Her life was complete. If her Bholenath were to call her to Himself, she would be content.

Her Bholenath gave her that too.

RIP, Paro ... Parvati Rudra Pratap Ranawat. You will be dearly missed ...

By your husband ... the Jallad, the stone who melted and became human with the constant shower of your unconditional all-encompassing love.
By your son, your Dhruv ... who received a lifetime's worth of love from you in one short month, and the gift of a second mother, a Maasi ... from you.
By Maithili ... your jeeja, your sister of the heart ... who loved you as much as you loved her, supported her ... and with whom you generously shared the right to call your child 'mother'.
By the rest of the Ranawat family, whom you united from a dysfunctional group, into a united family ... all except Mohini Tongue

And last but not least ... by viewers of a show Rangrasiya ... who loved you for your smile, your faith, your belief, your obstinacy, and the love in your heart. For us, you will live forever in your own private heaven with your husband and child ... PaRud forever.

Quick episode overview ...
Rudra arrives home ... but too late ... a crazed Shantanu has taken his revenge. Rudra wastes precious minutes in figuring out what he has done ... all the while I was mentally urging Rudra ...stop talking, shoot the guy, and go find Paro!!!

And when Rudra does find Paro ... lying in a pool of blood .. it's too late. She dies in his arms ... after extracting a promise from him, that he will be a good father and will raise their child with love. And one more thing ...
But she's gone before she can say it.

Paro cremated ... and she's gone forever. Cry To the tune of a very beautiful, very soulful song ... Abhi mujh mein kahin, thodi baaki si hai zindagi ... a living corpse Rudra, living only for his son.

Back home, Rudra cries ... thankfully a short scene ... but the arrival of his crying son gives him the strength to carry on ... to keep living ... for his son.

So that's why the rushed pregnancy. Confused

And in the next scene, 7 years later ... cvs continuing on their jet plane.

Dhruv's birthday ... he celebrates by cooking breakfast for his father. Like his mother, he makes no demands ... Maithili had to observe him carefully to figure out what he might like as a birthday present. He celebrates in the midst of a loving family ... Rudra, Maithili, Samrat, Danveer ...  Dilsher and Mala have died.

And Rudra smiles for his son ... but misses Paro every day ... how he wishes she was there to help him raise their son together.

  1. I never cry at movies or serials, in fact used to always laugh at those who used to cry, but today I was sobbing and my hubby was laughing, now I can see how irritating that is, Hrmphh...needless to say somebody will be sleeping on the sofa tonight and its not me for sure!

Rudra's guilt of not being to reach his wife on time is completely justified, this guilt is going to haunt him forever, unless something similar happens again in future and will he be able to save that person then?Hint.. with the Paro look alike?!
Anyhow Rudra vows that he will keep Paro alive in his mind / waiting for her forever and ever, and now with his son's 7th b'day wishes she was with him in parenting their son- so has Bolenath answered his prayers in the form of Myra?
Gut-wrenching episode, loved Vishal's performance as the perfect madman out for revenge.
With the leap we get to know that even Rudra's parents are no more, poor guy, double whammy- how can someone be so ill-fated? :-((
But looks like Paro has left behind a shining star Dhruv to take care of his dad!
And Maithili, bless her heart is keeping up her promise to Paro by being lovely maasi.
Little goolu moolu Dhruv, he is such cute sa ladoo :-)
Mohini seems to be still alive and kicking! Has not slowed down in spewing venomous words What about Sumer-Shatabdi and their little girl- yet to come I hope.
And with the precap looks like we don't have to wait long for Myra's entry.

Will wait and watch few more episodes, if I like what their dishing out will continue watching it, it not adieu RR. I like Sanaya so I am giving this a chance, I tried watching Chanchan too but did not like it at all, could not continue watching it, hope this does not turn out to be the same!! :-/

    1. You and me both ... I was crying, my husband, whom I had told that Paro is dying so I need to watch, sat next to me, and laughed ... and made casual conversation about dinner parties and other such nonsense ... I have no idea what he said! Another man who will be sleeping on the sofa tonight! Maybe your husband and mine can compare notes! :)))

Funny thing, I was thinking ... if it was any other actress playing Myrah, we would be set to hate her ... as it is, Sanaya has her work cut out making us love her all over again ... she has made us love Paro so much and so deeply!

Dhruv is cute ... so he is Paro's mirror image, quiet and thoughtful, non-demanding like her, and loves his imli.

Didn't really care for the mooch trimming scene ... wish AS would go clean shaven for the new Rudra.

The shadow of Paro hung over the entire episode ... feels really strange to think we will never see her again ... except hopefully in flashbacks. Am not ready for Myrah's entry yet ... hope Sanaya manages to change that tomorrow.

    2. Dia, I and many others have already told you you have your way with words, but this hat's off, beautiful eulogy to Paro- and she's a fictitious character ! that is so tough to believe!!! :-((

    3. Thank you *blush*
I realised how much I loved Paro ... I always like the quiet women of strength, and Paro was definitely one such woman. Played to perfection by Sanaya, of course, who brought her to life.

    1. Morning Breeze: Her humour was on the lower side today due to seriousness of the situation. But loved the first few lines in which she says that the show has to go on. And yes.... where is Shwetha, when we need her the most? For some humour and positivity.

  3. Definitely sad episode, cremating her was like a big " rude gesture" to us fans, i can see the people in charge wickedly laughing while are hopes of Paro being alive disappear like smoke :'(
And why did they kill off Mala and Dilsher, haye haye poor Rudra!!!! What a Shakespearean tragedy.
Dhruv is a cutie patootie, I agree to really set a new tone, Ashish should shave, the mooch is good for a rugged BSD officer but he's not that anymore! He may after his Jhalak stint maybe?
Sanaya needs to work her magic on us bc this whole episode gave me a heavy heart, even the light hearted moments, as it is i did not watch the first few minutes, i could not bring myself to see her die like that.
I am convinced that Colors is intentionally alienating viewers so they can quietly cancel this show without causing a ruckus, why else wouldn't they promote it? I smell a conspiracy ladies, brutally killing the much loved female lead just turn us off and then no promotions.
No wonder they're always on SBB/SBS its the only promotion they can do!
Now do we avenge the channel by watching the show and making sure it stays on air despite their attempts to tank it. Or do we not watch in our anger and let it sink so our leads can work on something more fruitful.
I have a great idea for a new drama series, the Behind the Scenes workings behind keeping shows on in daily soap telly world, I bet that would be interesting to watch :)!!!

    1. Kiran: Good idea for ST for his next show, but the show better be aired in a different channel. I remember reading a similar post in IF sometime back. Don't have the link to that post. I was surprised, but now it makes sense. May be the PH and the channel are trying to run the show until Big Boss starts. I know that RR has got a new time slot. But one doesn't know what happens in the background.

    2. I also get the feeling that Colors wants to pull Rangrasiya off air ... no promos at all for a huge track change ... that is something very difficult to digest ... when they claim this is a last ditch effeort for TRPs ... how will the ratings come if there are no promos whatsoever? It really doesn't make sense ... so as I was doing earlier, I will continue watching as long as RR is on air, and Sanaya is in it ... no expectations even if the TRPs do improve.

  4. For the first time in my life, I cried for a TV serial. I was controlling my tears, when Paro breathed her last on Rudra's lap. It was even more difficult to control when she couldn't ask her second wish. God knows what it is. :( Is that second wish the 'Kamaal ka twist'? Something like Rudra remarrying? Don't know. But I started weeping during the funeral, when Rudra turned back to have one final glimpse at the pyre. His helplessness, actually both father's and son's helplessness. The gravity of the situation sunk in at that moment. I just couldn't imagine someone who has to bring up his / her child all alone without the support of a partner. Life is cruel at times. :( :(

Loved it when Rudra said that he would be waiting for Paro even after his death. The CVs are playing with the viewers' feelings. 'Tu.... main... hamesha', 'Paro nahi hai to Rudra nahi', 'Mera parivar sirf tum ho'..... I could go on. These were some of Rudra's dialogues. Many more memorable dialogues of Paro too. How can one discount all those moments? Please don't think I am crazy or may be I am really crazy. I still have a feeling that something positive will happen. Alright, Myrah's entry is to marry Rudra. But how will the CVs justify that? When a viewer like me ponders so much about all those beautiful moments, songs, dialogues between Rudra and Paro, how can the CVs forget? Should I hope? I will, because there is nothing wrong in hoping. At the most, I would be disappointed. I said that Rudra romancing a Paro lookalike would leave a bad taste in my mouth. I still do. But there has to some justification. I know that Paro's body has been burnt. Still.... I think I am crazy.

So, Dilsher and Mala are dead. This new track has got rid of everyone related to Rudra, including his ex. What happened to Aman? Guess everything will unfold slowly. I am not in a rush. I hope the CVs don't rush too. If there is some link between the new entry and Paro's second wish, I would like the suspense to build up and hope the CVs take their own time to reveal it. That is, if they are not in a hurry to wrap up the show.

Liked the bonding between son and father. So, Dhruv is a replica of his mom. Doesn't demand anything. Worships his dad. Truly his mom's son. because that is what his mom did. Suddenly remembering her words to Rudra. Main aapse bahut pyaar karti hoon, Major sa..... These kind of words would come only from those who are not afraid to bare their hearts.

So the new entry is making an entry tomorrow. Big thanks to the CVs for controlling their speed. I was so scared that they would introduce Myrah today. Big thanks for being so sensible. For once. Not sure what to expect. I am not too much of anybody's fan to eagerly wait for his / her arrival. So, trying not to have any expectations. Let us start from a clean slate, unless the CVs want to drag the past to the present.

  5. Forget about promos, the idiots didn't even bother to show a new montage. How insensitive?? I guess, 'SUCH IS LIFE'!!!!! :/
