25/7 - Epi 151 ... One Chapter Ends, A New One To Start

Friday 25th July

The best scene today was the scene between Paro and Maithili ... it brought tears to my eyes.

The rest of the episode was surprisingly good ... speed still an issue, but the individual scenes were quite well done ...

Paro's worry, tension at the sight of the picture ... she doesn't realise the relationship, all she knows is that Shantanu is also Tejawat's man, so dangerous ... goes to find Rudra ... who is missing (as usual) ... tries, but can't quite keep the worry out of her eyes, and raises Shantanu's suspicions ...
We fortunately had no spoilers about the actual confrontation, so it came as a surprise ... a pleasant one.

So Paro realises that just a picture of Shantanu and Varun together at the wedding may not be enough to prove anything ... she takes the chance to go search Shantanu's room, thinking he will be busy in his own engagement, and unlikely to interrupt.
Mistake ... as Shantanu has his antennae up ... and corners Paro in the bedroom just as she finds the picture of Varun ... where, like all Rangrasiya villains, he tells her all his secrets, including the fact that Varun is his brother. And that he's here to kill Paro for revenge.

Rudra returns in time ... fortunately Paro told Mala she was looking for Rudra ... message actually conveyed (a first in Indian soaps!) ... Rudra goes looking for Paro ... and hears her scream ...
Rudra to the rescue .. fight between hero and villain, cut short by ad break.
And after the break, we have the BSD force holding Shantanu, while he has verbal diarrhea about how he will be back, Rudra had best shoot him now, because he won't rest till he gets his revenge.

So a foreshadowing of what is going to happen ...

Shantanu actually looked quite mad, the psycho that he was meant to be ...
And he pulls a gun from one BSD man and shoots at Paro. Thankfully he is a terrible shot ... the bullet hits the wall ... but Paro faints anyway ... much to Rudra's shock and horror.

Doctor called ... and she confirms the happy news.

The Paro Rudra Mala scene was cute ... breaking the news to an expectant father is always cute ... the women are always so much more in control of the situation ... and this was no exception. Mala all smiles, Paro equally so, Rudra tense and worried, looking from one to the other ... Mala leaves them alone and Paro smilingly breaks the news ... Rudra gobsmacked, doesn't know how to react ... obviously eight years of 'har raat' never prepared him for this :)

Family scene ... while they are happy with the news, Mohini is annoyed ... but of course, her dreams vanished in smoke ... the eldest grandchild will be Rudra's child, not either of her sons'.
Sunehri will be sent off to her uncle's house to recover from her broken heart ...

PaRud again ... Rudra tries to come to terms with the news ... Paro is blooming, happy, delighted ...

Paro Maithili ... a simply beautiful scene ... the best scene tonight. The bond between the two women, both daughters-in-law of the house, who have become sisters of the heart. Paro, sensitive as always to the feelings of others, especially those she loves, can sense the turmoil in Maithili ... the mixture of emotions ... happiness for Paro battling with sorrow that this joy will never be hers ... And Paro sees that turmoil ... and asks Maithili, can my child call you Maasi? Maasi is maa jaisi ... and you are my sister, aren't you? Our child will be lucky ... it will have two mothers.

And Maithili smiles through her tears, and nods ...

Another foreshadowing of the upcoming track ... damn, I'm going to miss Paro. Such a beautiful character!

PaRud again (Ashish obviously took the day off JDJ) ... Rudra asks Paro how she always knows the right thing to say ... and wonders if he is ready to be a father ... with his background, his upbringing. Paro reassures him ... his happiest days are around the corner ... and their child will get a wonderful upbringing.

Lots happened in the episode ... but it wasn't as rushed as some of the earlier ones have been. The tension and action in the first half balanced by the emotions in the second half. Enjoyed it .. even though the thought of the upcoming track is making me really sad.

  1. Yet to see the episode as all the spoilers had me perplexed. Oh well, the writers, CVs and PH have a story to tell and they will narrate it in their own supersonic style. :-((((

I guess, in a way, Parud's story has come to a natural end - Paro, the orphan, has found her home, Rudra, the jallad, has healed and they both have a family of their own to look forward to - not much to go on from here, is there?
I just hope the character sketch for new 'Paro' does justice to Sanaya.

    1. Agreed Aki. The love story of Paro and Rudra has evolved so beautifully and reached its saturation point. Rudra's realization of his love for Paro was shown better. And there isn't much to show about them. Hope Rudra doesn't relapse, otherwise it will be an insult to all the sacrifices, struggles and turmoils that Paro and Rudra had gone through. Not sure about the new character. Trying not to judge anything about the new track before watching it. Let's hope for the best.

  2. It was a enjoyable episode, felt is was fast as usual, I really liked Vishal, he totally stole the scenes for me, he looked completely crazy, you could see the madness in his eyes, I was impressed, even where he screamed to tape Sunehri's mouth shut and the following dialogues, were so scary, Imagine if he actually got engaged/married to Sunehri what would be her state?! She was saved at the nick of time. The guy had completely gone bonkers!!

After all the darkness in their life, the expectant parents looked happy, of course Rudra did look gobsmacked initially, but all's well that ends well!!
And by the looks of the Precap even Mohini's dream of being a grandmother is going to be true too!!

Rudra's doubst on being a good father/ role model parent was done well, but as always Paro puts his mind at ease and with growing months happiness is bound to increase too and all of those are going to be crushed, thank god this is reel life I cannot imagine that happening to anybody in real life :-(

With meaningful dialogues placed in appropriate situations indicating the unforeseen future.... damn I already feel like crying :-((

    1. Ratna, I can understand your upset, because I feel the same way.

I can understand the cvs wrapping up the PaRud story ... all said and done, PaRud are happily married and expecting their first baby ... so that is the end of the love story for sure. I guess because the TRPs never came as expected, they rushed the entire show, never showed the side tracks, like the Nandini angle, they cut short Laila's track, didn't do justice to Mala track ... because nothing brought the boost in trps, except for the Jaipur track. Which makes me feel that they might shift the atmosphere from rural to more urban and contemporary ... that might be the channel's attempt to increase the ratings.

Paro is the life of this show, she is the heart and soul ... they cannot kill her. I think this might be a way to shift the ambiance ... very few rural based shows have succeeded in the recent past ... most shows doing well are the KJo type ... even BV which is a rural based show, has a more contemporary, urban feel to it, with all the younger women educated and independent. To show Paro change slowly into a more educated sophisticated girl might be difficult during the course of the show, this is a shortcut of doing it. I refuse to believe they will kill Paro ... she cannot die, and Rudra cannot live without her.

So let's see how the story rolls ... I am more bugged and puzzled about the complete lack of promos by the channel. If this is their attempt to shore up TRPs, they have a very funny way of doing it. Only the online audience knows about the upcoming story ... and the online audience anyway loves RR ... how will they bring in the TRP junta if they don't promote the new track?!

So the mantra is ... wait and watch ... in the meantime, enjoy the first couple of days of this week ... after which, if it's all about Rudra crying, I will switch off till the new Paro makes her appearance.

    1. Lin, there is a major track change happening and they are killing off Paro. Sanaya is not leaving ... she will re-enter as a more modern urban girl. How this will tie in with the premise of a Rudra-Paro love story with the promise of you-me-always, I don't know. Let's see how the cvs take it ... but the scenes of Paro's death were shown in SBS today and they were really upsetting. :(

  5. @ ratna, everybody is sad, why did they have to post that stupid spoiler ahead of time, so we can't even enjoy the episodes now, the future plot feels like a sword hanging over our heads!

But think of it this ways, because of the revamp to the channel and low TRP's this was inevitable, at least they did not pull the plug show off, plus Sanaya will remain as the lead and paired with the same co-star and who knows maybe we will even like their new point of view/ plot!
But I want the makers to show that Paro's influence in Rudra's life to bring about a positive outcome, losing her is going to be immensely painful to him but she has helped him to heal from the demons of his past and more so I want him to carry few of those changes with him- this way it will be a meaningful end to Paro's character.
And most importantly this is after all a fictional story, even though they haven't delivered us the story they promised completely, I will give the new version a chance because of Sanaya and the lead already share a rocking chemistry and I am sure they will give us new and revamped electrifying moments to look forward to!!! :-)

  8. Wow, Dia thanks for your take, favourite scene was the last parud scene and maithili and paro, how sweet they were.
It would be nicer if they wrapped up the show without killing off Paro, such a sweet soul brought to life by Sanaya,
I came across the youtube video, just posting link to part 1 but there are 2 more, Sanaya's interview in the end, she seems none too happy with this current situation. She's so real and upfront you can see that she's not liking any of this, at least that's how i felt.
I hope for her sake that this is a successful change in the story and I will continue to watch for Sanaya and Ashish but I really do hate that they have to kill the essence of traditional sweet Paro for those manhoos TRPS.
I like Pakistani serials for this reason, set number of episodes, all filmed before teh first episode airs and no change to story based on TRPS,
I was watching the older episodes on youtube, right up to Jaipur track it was magical with small ups and downs but overall nice, after that started the track changes that really lost more viewers I think. haye haye, why do tv serials have to be so good that it matters so much what happens to these characters :(

  9. Hello everyone.

The CVs are making me bipolar. :( Yesterday, after reading all those spoilers, I was so depressed about the change in story. Uncertainty sure does make one anxious. Even if it is fictitious. But today, after watching the episode, I am feeling extremely emotional. This happened to me once before. When I watched the episode before Mahasangam one. The day before Paro and Rudra go to Mumbai.

Am not going to say anything new about the episode. Dia et al have already described it so beautifully. I am still not able to absorb the fact that Paro might get killed. The very essence of Rangrasiya is Rudra and Paro. Rudra falling for another girl who resembles Paro doesn't fit well, atleast to me. One doesn't forget one's soulmate that easily and get married to another woman. But this is fiction and anything is possible.

@Kiran: Sanaya actually lied about the acid attack. :D I hope this is again one of her tricks to distract people. The actors give away only the necessary details, not everything. I am still hoping that the PH and CVs stick to Paro and Rudra, and not a Paro look-alike from London. I felt Ashish blabbering something about the upcoming track and Sanaya was trying to cover up.

@Morning Breeze: The hints dropped during the second half of the episode has left me confused. I am sure about Shanthanu striking again. He is a deranged psychopath. No doubts about that. Paro says that her baby would have two mothers. Then she tells Rudra that his life will be full of happiness and both of them will give their child a good upbringing. May be we all are confused because of too many spoilers within a short span of time. That's something unique about RR. The episodes run fast and the spoilers come out faster. And one should not forget that Rudra's happiness is with Paro (only). Bringing a modern avatar of Paro and making Rudra fall in love with her is equal to ultimate destruction of Rudra. IF junta are talking about Shiva-Sati and Shiva-Parvati references. Now that almost all the spoilers are true, I hope that the Paro dying spoiler was only a tactic to gain attention.

Still confused.... Left with mixed emotions (and thoughts).

Oh btw, the precap was awesome. Sumer's way of delivering the good news to his family. And Mohini's, "Ab tune kya kar diya?" was too good.

CVs: Please do justice to the new track. Even the smallest character in the show like Sumer is capable of making me connect with the show. Please don't disappoint us.

    1. What I want to know is ... if the new track is geared to improving the TRPs, why are we not getting a SINGLE new promo on either the current happenings, or the new track? Agreed the cvs don't want to give out the truth of the new Paro ... but if the channel is forcing these changes to improve the ratings ( as seems to be the case), then how do they expect ratings to improve if they don't promote the change or even the current track leading up to the change? I find this very mystifying ... the track changes in SSK, Bani's death and return in Bani, were all promoted hugely ... even though I watch just one show on Colors, I couldn't miss the promos. Currently only two shows are getting NO promos at all ... Madhubala, because it's ending, so understandable ... and Rangrasiya. I find this very weird ... what exactly is the channel strategy on Rangrasiya?

      Delete
    2. Dia: my theory: the channel does not want to deal with angsty fans refusing to let Colors cancel the show, so they are doing this to turn away what loyal viewers are left and then cancel it quietly. Why else wouldn't they promote a new track? Why else would they create a track where the essence of the story, 2 soul mates destined for each other ends up in one of them dying. Even more tragic than Othello! I feel like they're intentionally tanking the story and then they'll cancel it....booooo on Colors and whoever's morbid idea this was. What a way to make a show darker, and then why are they showing her death on screen before it airs, these segments have really made everything worse!

      Kiran

      Delete
    3. There are two possibilities ... I feel like Sherlock Holmes or worse, Inspector Clouseau here! :))
One is, as you said, Colors has made up their mind to shut the show, so they're making the worst possible tracks, to turn away the viewers, make trps plummet even further, and they can shut down the show by BB8. That doesn't make too much sense, because RR is already at almost the lowest trp for the channel ... so they don't really need any excuse to shut it down.

The other is that these spoilers being released, are killing all the suspense ... but that's deliberate ... and the real story is something different. How they will make it different, with Paro dying in Rudra's arms, and no leeway for getting lost, amnesia, etc etc ... I have no idea ... but this is Indian tv, anything can happen. People come back from the dead all the time. Paro might too ... in a brand new avatar ... forget all logic ... and we get a brand new love story, this time hopefully from the heroine's POV.

    1. It has to be Paro with Amnesia, or Paro who has left deliberately for the safety of Rudra and her baby ... and doesn't know about Shantanu's death. Or it has to be a leap, but in that case, PaRud's son romancing a look-alike of his mother will be weird. I'd rather Sanaya left the show in that case, and they got a new girl. Of course, I can stop watching Rangrasiya then, and wait for her to come back in a new show :P

And all the spoilers have come true....so Paro is dead and a look alike from London will make an entry.....After the incredible Love Story of PaRud, it will be very difficult to accept Rudra falling for a look alike...all hopes of her being Paro returned are gone.....
Anyway the Story of PaRud is over and that was what had got me hooked....

  21. It was gut wrenching to watch the SBS ... I could barely bear to watch and I've been feeling actually depressed the whole evening after watching it. I'm feeling so annoyed with myself ... this is a fictional show, these are fictional characters, why are we getting so depressed? But that's the kind of connect Sanaya builds with her characters ...

I will agree with Madhu-mitha ... there is something funny here. Why release so many spoilers, why did Ashish say it will be a kamaal ka twist, why did Raghuvir Shekhawat (the writer) say that they won't break the viewers' hearts? Do they not realise how attached the viewers are to Paro? And how can they show Paro alive, when they will show her dying in Rudra's lap?

And most importantly, why are there no promos of ANYTHING in the new track? Neither Paro dying, nor the new character?

Either Colors have given up completely on the show ... which still doesn't make sense, because then they might as well pull it off. Why go to all the bother of starting a brand new track, and not promote it at all?
Or they plan to change the branding completely ... from a dark, passionate love story to a more light love story, or a family drama, or something else.

Nothing makes sense, least of all the complete lack of promos ... so I am going to assume what I did earlier, when the TRPs started falling ... the show has a few months left, might as well enjoy Sanaya as long as she is on air ... then wait for her new show.
