It's official now ... Rudra is officially item number in Rangrasiya. Today he came in for a hot scene, performed it, in chamki clothes, no less ... and disappeared for the rest of the episode.
No build up at all to the consummation scene ... what saved it was the actors. Sanaya was awesome, this was probably the most intimate and mature consummation scene she has done. The soft voiced off key singing, the catching of breath ... the shyness, but lack of any hesitation ... her expressions, the shy smiles ... Paro was shy, but ready and willing ...
Ashish's expressions were good ... Rudra in fully romantic mode, lost and totally fida over his beautiful biwi ... wanting the smile back on her face any which way.
Love both the songs they used ... the instrumental Kuch kuch hota hai, very appropriate for PaRud, it's been their song ever since Rudra first sang it for Paro in the courtyard, and then again, and again ... it's a beautiful tune, and the piano instrumental is so sensuous ... a beautiful accompaniment to PaRud's foreplay.
And Rangrez ... beautiful lyrics ...
Morning after scene was cute ... Paro back to teasing, Rudra fast asleep, back to grumpy mode ... and swift jump to some teasing of his own ... a husband wife deeply in love, comfortable with it, and not afraid to show their feelings physically.
A rather abrupt shift to Sumer and Shatabdi ... did Sumer develop some brain cells overnight? Did he really think of that juvenile itching powder trick on his own? He really is a nasty piece of work.
This round to Sumer ... as Shatabdi gets a rash just before her munh dikhayi. No problem ... hopefully she will get back at him soon. Mohini is as nasty as her son ... delighted that Sumer's plan worked. There's nothing much else she can do ... but the woman has lost her brains ... pr the writers have lost their memory ... doesn't she want to wait for the promised money?
Sweet jethanis Maithili and Paro to the rescue ... with haldi chandan lep ... and explanations for the neighbours. Maithili asks Paro why she looks so happy and glowing ... aww
Shantanu starts Plan B ... flirting deliberately with Sunehri under Paro's eye ...
Paro meets some old friends ... neighbours from Birpur ... who seem to recognise Shantanu. Paro is already wary of Shantanu with his flirting ... pricks up her ears, and later ... direct as ever, asks Shantanu if he has ever visited the area. He denies it ... Paro wisely does not probe further. But she remembers Mala saying that she also felt Shantanu was familiar.
Shantanu asks Sunehri to meet him on the terrace.
Precap - Paro investigates again ... as he meant her to do.
The episode was very disjointed ... the scenes seemed put together in a rush ... Rudra's appearance was like an item number. No build up, no follow up ... he came, spent the night with Paro, and disappeared. They had a dialogue explaining why Dilsher and Mala were missing for the munh dikhayi ... they could have put in one for Rudra.

ReplyDeleteNice song selection and aesthetically done but even I felt the scene was abrupt.And after all the previous failed attempts Rudra makes sure that this time there is absolutely no interruption, so first thing takes his wife out of the haveli! :-))
But I felt this did not measure up to the 20th June episode, hmm... that's the problem if you give such sizzling episode everything else will get compared to it ;-)
Anyways it was last stunt to pull up few TRP's is what I feel. But the chemistry between the was rocking as always :-)

What happened to the bullet? Does it mean that Shantanu does not get his hand's on it?
And it looks like Sumer is not such a bad prankster himself get's a point this time and dupes Shatabdi and was basking in glory during the 'moodikayi' 'ceremony!!
Looks like Paro's brain cells are churning up fast to regarding Shantanu, she seems to be smelling something fishy and even has put on her investigation cap.
Side note: Mala is not keeping well, so Dilsher has taken her to the doc...hmmm... what's cooking there!??! ;-))
Oh, by the way what's all the 'halla gulla' in IF regarding some tweet, about Paro being pregnant, and dying and leap of 5years and Shantanu being exposed???!!!!! This is too fast even for RR. Plus how can she die and be pregnant at the same time, well this is something that they never taught me during my medical school days!! ;-/ ;-)

Rudra must have sent to bullet to Aman ... Aman does all the work, he just stands and glowers! But yes, wonder if Shantanu got his hands on the bullet, or is his exposure really so near as the spoilers seem to indicate? Why was he wasting time flirting with Sunehri ... should have thought he would be far more keen to get his hands on the bullet before Aman sent it for forensics.
Hi Dia, not I am the other 'D'- Dentist :-) but we have to go through many medical subjects too, and Anatomy and human physiology it a must in detail, hence....:-)
DeleteYa I too started thinking about the spoiler seriously since it looked like Shantanu did not get hold of it, and now Paro seems to connecting or started connecting the dots regarding him and since we already know the speed with which RR's plots move, the spoiler may as well turn out too!!! :-/
Didn't watch the epi yet. Looks like the epi has drawn mixed reactions from people. Some are ok with it and the rest are cribbing about how short and abrupt it was. And most importantly how less hot it was compared to the June 20 episode. No comments until I watch the epi.
ReplyDelete@morning breeze: IF is driving me nuts. Paro pregnant, paro dead, five year leap, god knows what not. The shanthanu track is not over yet. Well it has just started. With sunehri as his first pawn. Will have to wait and see how the story unfolds.

Leaving comparisons aside, it was not bad ... except that there was absolutely NO build up. One moment Rudra remembers Paro's panic, next minute he's dragging her, all dressed up beautifully, to a barn ... if he wanted to take her out away from the haveli, and made her dress up ... why to a barn? Why not a hotel room? Made no sense!
DeleteBut the scenes themselves were beautiful ... I loved the kuch kuch hota hai instrumental, it is so utterly sensuous and they did a very good job. Sanaya's expressions particularly were fabulous.
Re spoilers about the new track ... will wait and watch. Watching Sanaya shows has become a habit ... as long as she is there, I will watch it.

Before watching the episode, I had watched the SBB/SBS segment, I had read the written update, visited Dia's blog and IF too. Read about the varied opinions of people posting in IF. So, I was a little confused as to what to expect from the episode. But then what to expect? I pretty much knew the whole sequence. That's what I thought and I was wrong. Dia.... agreed that there was no build up to the Suhaag Raat. But I was pleasantly surprised by the visuals. True, it was not hot and steamy as the 20th June episode, but this one was really beautiful. Hats off to Sanaya and Ashish for yet another uninhibited performance. They really should have a great level of comfort, otherwise doing such scenes are never going to be easy, no matter how professional the actor is. As, I didn't expect it to be like the June episode, I was not disappointed at all. I think one steamy episode is enough for a daily soap.
ReplyDeleteRest of the episode was all about the muh dhikayi. I have one complaint though. They should have probably reserved one full episode for Suhaag Raat. May be that's the reason, the episode was disjointed. Jumping from one mood to another mood very abruptly. The first 10 to 11 minutes were like a poem, the rest of it was very much like a daily soap. On the whole, the episode wasn't bad, but the CVs could have given one full episode of Paro Rudra romance.
@Dia: About the location for Suhaag Raat, I think the barn would give a rustic feel to the whole sequence. Probably, that's what the creatives would have thought. That's why Rudra took Paro to a barn. May be...
@Morning Breeze: The IF article was amazingly written. Rarely does not come across such thoughtful posts in IF. Despite the ups and downs the show has seen, the producer has not really compromised with the original storyline. That's what I read in Ashish's interview. That's good. Then we will get to see the actual story. Hopefully all the tracks are properly closed before the show ends. That was indeed a very positive article, MB. When everyone else thinks about what the PH would show next, the author has pointed out many unsolved issues that have the potential to become a full length track. I think we should give it some time to see how the story progresses. One thing is for sure. Shanthanu will not be caught until JDJ comes to an end. Unless Ashish can spend much more time at RR sets. But then, what's the hurry? For once, let the CVs take their own sweet time. They literally made us run a marathon with the previous tracks.

ReplyDelete@Dia: About the promised dowry, I think Mohini doesn't want Shathabdhi as Sumer's wife. So, I don't think she is very particular about the 31 Lakhs, since Shathabdhi is not married to Samrat. Mohini just wants to see the back of Shathabdhi.

ReplyDeleteCaught the episode after ages, and was left fairly disappointed. As aesthetic as the SR scene was, the rest was completely disjointed. 'Honey, I'm home...... Let's do it..... Ciao'. Did not get the purpose for adding the SR scene now. Perhaps they could have waited a while... or maybe it was for the TRPs.
Commenting on the discussions yesterday, AS has done pretty much of what BS did. But he has handled it way better than BS ever could. Caught an interview of his a while back, where he mentioned that his reason for quitting IPK was lack in growth of his character. SERIOUSLY!!! The whole story was butchered for this one man, and he had the audacity to came back with his retort. Anyway, all the best to him. Hope his third movie sees the light of day. BTW, is it just me or it does look like he had suddenly put on years. Looking much older now, a far cry from when IPK began.
Talking of the spoilers around, coming from TC, I don't give it an iota of thought. Anyway, it is the PH's show. Hope they do realize they are just going to mess it up further.
Talking of blaming Sanaya for the failure, all I would say is... whatever floats their boat. Had she been given a well etched character, and the story we were promised.... I doubt the show would have been struggling as it is now.
DeleteRi ... I like the way you out it ... it was actually exactly that. I think, with all the spoilers about the leap etc., the first thing they had to do was show the consummation, so that if they go in for a pregnancy or a generation leap, the necessary preliminaries are done.
DeleteFrankly, PaRud have been such a physically demonstrative couple for so long, that even if they hadn't shown it, we could have taken it as given that they were a normal couple in every sense of the word.
Re BS, I think it is hitting home finally that he made the worst mistake of his life walking out of the show like that ... a BW career doesn't happen so easily as he thought, and neither is the whole of BW waiting for him with a red carpet ... but of course, he can't admit to that now. He is looking older and more haggard ... he doesn't look anything like the suave ASR we all loved.
RR ... they are re-thinking the story for sure ... they might take it forward in a more modern setting ... I just hope they give Paro amnesia and don't kill her off. Rangrasiya is the story of PaRud ... a new girl for Rudra, even if it's Sanaya, won't work the same way ... not unless they put MUCH more effort into telling the story differently. If they make Paro die, Rudra again become Jallad ... and the new girl again work to redeem him while he battles with his demons, this time the memories of Paro ... again it will be all about Rudra ... no way.
Anyway, let's see what really happens ... hope they give it some solid thought before taking it further.
Dia, what is it about ST and bumping off the leads/leaps. Almost all his shows have gone through it.
DeleteIf they indeed needed the pregnancy angle, atleast a build-up would have been appreciated. I agree about them being physically demonstrative. But if there was no SR, the forum members would have skinned the PH alive... so to speak :)
About BS, I had actually begun feeling sorry for the guy until that interview. At some point of time, we have all made mistakes in our career. He made a bad choice. Not the first one on TV... and definitely not the last one. Its the lack of integrity by blaming the PH that put me off.
Paro with amnesia would be way better. Cliched... but lot better than killing her off. But with these creatives, you never know. I feel this is all a rumor. TC comes up with the weirdest of concoctions. Has any other media source confirmed this?
Now this is news to me. Who and why is someone bashing sanaya for the low trps? :( sorry if I have missed something. I read only selected posts in IF. :(

DeleteThe new Amitabh Bachhan show on Sony, Yudh, did not get earth shattering TRPs either ... does that mean Amitabh Bachhan is a bad actor? Kuch bhi ... just to put Sanaya down. Or rather, to put their own favorite up, but since he isn't doing anything much, they can't do much about that.
Dia, that is exactly what crossed my mind when I read articles panning Yudh. The show is slow and dark. I had expected something along the lines of Powder.... this is slower.

I agree about the putting her down, just so that their favorites can be proved better. This all actually reminds me of the whole KSG craze on IF. The fangirls went crazy... and then just fizzled out. Remember there was even a Karan Protection Squad, to counter all the online 'bashing'. Now, the guy was booted out of QH, and there was hardly a whimper.
I may sound mean here. Been around IF long enough. This is just a phase. Another new 'hottie' and people would just forget all about BS.
In other news, Sanaya and Ashish are making an appearance in BeIntehaa on the Eid special.
