29/7 - Epi 152 ... Home Alone

Tuesday 29th July

Breakneck speed as usual ... nine months of Paro's pregnancy, Shatabdi's pregnancy ... all the happy times gone like the wind. One of the biggest failings of the show has been the failure to dwell on happy moments, and today was no exception. Why the makers feel that drama and villainy will get them TRPs beats me.

Mohini remains in character ... upset and angry that Paro and Rudra have stolen a march over her, and she will be left grandchild-less .. so she urges Sumer to do the needful. Sumer sulks in the presence of Shatabdi, who is only too willing ... marriage is marriage, and husband is husband ... MIL can be tolerated, and taken care of.

So nine months pass ... Rudra and Paro await the birth of their baby with happy anticipation ... while Shantanu in jail gets the news of their upcoming happiness, and plots and plans ...

Paro's baby boy is born ... to the joy of the entire family ... and PaRud settle into happy domesticity.

Till the day Shatabdi's baby is to arrive ... the entire family in hospital, awaiting the delivery ... Paro at home alone ...

And Shantanu breaks out of jail to complete his unfinished business ... revenge ...

And this time he succeeds ...as Paro is home alone, without her protector ... alone with her son, her Dhruv ...

Shantanu confronts her ... she runs from him, cradling her baby Dhruv in her arms ... but where to run ... she is alone.

To protect her child, she gives him one last hug, and places him in the cupboard ... and places her rudraksha on his chest for protection ... telling him his father will be there soon. Dhruv is protected, but she is unprotected ...

Shatabdi gives birth to a baby girl ... much to everyone's happiness ... everyone except Mohin, of course ... she wanted only a boy. But Sumer is breaking the chains of maternal love ... he likes his baby girl very much indeed.

Rudra hears from Aman that Shantanu has escaped ... and rushes home  ... will he be too late?

A difficult episode to watch ... was hoping the cvs would give us at least one happy episode before they rushed into the tragedy ... but it seems that was too much to hope for.

In the precap ... Paro shot, barely breathing ... Rudra bursts into the room ... was he too late?

  1. 'kya bolun ab?!' ;-)

After recovering from overwhelming sadness, I am still dazed as to what to write?
This is why I hate tragedy end to any show/movie. 'Such is life'- I suppose!! ;-) ;-/

Sanaya brought about the helpless mother so well, tears were just welling up during those scenes, I don't know weather the impact was more so because I have a little one myself? :-((

Sumer is turning out to be a pleasant surprise and also something I was really hoping for, his first question after the doctor came out to give the good news was how was his wife? That clearly indicated he is a changed man- for good! And even his annoyance at his mother while she was chanting excessively for a grandson- Mohini your beyond redemption according to me.

The happy moments were too short to dwell on them and in fact those scenes made me more sad because I knew they were going to be crushed mercilessly :-( :-(

Tomorrow is going to be even worse, a sob fest for sure, don't know whether I can stomach it?! But the only relief is the its not the end of the show and I am hoping when they actually end it it will be a happy ending...??......:-/

  3. Hello ladies.

I am seriously thinking of not watching the show anymore. Not because there isn't anything left to see. But whatever the CVs show henceforth might not make much of an effect on me. When everyone was complaining about the show being too negative, I have never let the negativity of the show affect me and never have I complained about it. The concept is that of an intense, passionate and dark love story. So, it is bound to have its ups and downs. This is what I have been telling myself and the people who complain. Mohini's sarcastic one-liners (though I admire the actress), Dilsher's taunts, Laila, Mala's silence and inability to defend herself.... too many negative aspects. Still I kept watching it. Now when all is well, When Rudra is a reformed man, when he has accepted Paro as his soulmate, when everything is the way it should be, lightning strikes.

Despite watching the SBB/SBS segments, I had hopes that the CVs would somehow twist the tale and let Paro live. Now, I realize that it was not hope, it was just wishful thinking. My heart still refuses to believe that Paro could be killed. But there is 99% chance that she could be killed. I had a ridiculous thought that the CVs might fake Paro's death, like Rudra did the first time he rescued her. Only this time, Rudra is not aware of it. Then I thought that the same Paro might return as the NRI lookalike (She has been christened Myrah). I didn't give a damn about any logic or lack of logic that the CVs might use, but I just wanted Paro alive. End of story. My hopes have almost diminished. I am saying almost, because I guess I am still wishing for the moon.

The very point of Rudra's existence is destroyed, if Paro dies. Not because he would lose his better half and soulmate. But the struggles he had been through to protect her would go to gutter. From Tejawat, from Mohini, from Laila, from Shanthanu and every single enemy of hers. Since the second time they met, Rudra has been protecting Paro. Time and again, it has been proven that Paro is safe only with Rudra. I believe this is the crux of the story. The soulmate aspect came much later. He protected her from harm, even when they hated each other. Now, the CVs have dared to compromise the very foundation of the story by killing (or trying to kill) Paro. Never felt so bad for Rudra.

I still haven't watched the episode, but after reading the updates, I have a feeling of deja-vu. When Paro and Rudra met for the first time as kids, Paro threw her gudiya to Rudra to comfort him. Now, as she departs(?) from this world, she is handing over their son as a comfort for Rudra. Mala left Rudra and Dilsher years ago. Now history is about to repeat itself(?). I am adding question mark at the end of every sentence just out of wishful thinking. I am not sure if I am asking too much.

I don't know about the background of the new character. If she has any link with Paro or Rudra. Or is she completely independent, a fresh character from a different part of the world. I am sure Ashish and Sanaya along with the rest of the cast would rock, even if the script is crappy, which is usually the case. But I just cannot think of Rudra romancing someone who looks like his dead wife. Not just wife, his soulmate, his conscience, his support. If the CVs wanted Rudra to fall in love again, they could have used a different face, not Sanaya. The resemblance part is making me very uncomfortable. And everytime they come close, he would be obviously seeing his dead wife in the new girl, which is totally unfair. I am writing my own script without even waiting for the complete story to unfold. I am running out of patience.

Like I said before, I am thinking of taking a break from Rangrasiya for 2 - 3 months. I will finish watching all the episodes till this Friday. Will see how it goes and then decide if I should start watching again. That is, if the show is still on air.

    1. I wish I could take a break ... if it wasn't Sanaya playing the new character, it would be goodbye to Rangrasiya for me. Unfortunately, since Sanaya is still there, I will still watch ... but I really don't know where and how they can take the story further. Rangrasiya was about a girl who believes in love and how her path crosses with a man who doesn't. That girl is dead, the man is reformed and believes in love again ... so what is left? The story of a widower finding love again with his wife's lookalike? That is creepy ... how can the new girl ever be confident he is falling in love with her, and not with his dead wife?

I have no faith in the makers to do this properly ... they rushed nine months of pregnancy, didn't even give us a proper godh bharayi, naamkaran ceremony ... all these things are what fetch TRPs ... dwelling on the happy moments, allowing the emotions to sink in. They gave us exactly twelve minutes of that ... what takes days and a few episodes in other shows!

And I still don't understand what the rush was to end this chapter ... both the leads are around, no one is leaving ... why the RUSH?! Especially Sanaya is very much there, Ashish is busy with his stupid JDJ, but she is available full time ... why didn't they at least do an all-ladies godh bharayi ceremony, spend some time on the good times with the new baby and the happy parents, the happiness in the house ... why the fire to rush into bad times and tragedy?

Am puzzled ... and very upset at the impending scenes for today ... not sure how well I will be able to update the episode. Also, am very angry with the makers for squandering great opportunities and wasting a beautiful story, in their rush for TRPs.

    1. Thank you Morning Breeze. I have made a habit of reading her takes in IF. In a way, it is good that they rushed today's episode. If they have lingered too much on any emotion, it would have been much more difficult to see the worst. Loved Sumer today. He is truly on his way to becoming a good guy. A small sweet scene between Maithili and Paro, when Paro checks on her jeeja after hearing Sumer's good news.

I still don't get why Ashish mentioned about a 'Kamaal ka twist'. Is Sanaya's new look, the 'Kamaal ka twist'? The writer too mentioned that they wouldn't upset the viewers. Too many statements and spoilers. All the spoilers have been true so far. Including the one about Sanaya's re-entry as a NRI in a glam avatar. There is one last spoiler that would be confirmed in tomorrow's episode. I seriously wonder what that 'Kamaal ka twist' is.

  5. Would like to comment on the ongoing drama about the leap- please don't throw any chappals, I am not writing this to hurt anybody's feelings or opinions, its just my general observation, that's all.
When I said I am emotionally detaching myself from RR, I meant it and its a work still on progress!!
Saying so I also repeat that I will continue watching the new concept only because Sanaya is still in it, and I admire her acting capability.

In a way if you look at Paro-Rudra love story it has achieved its happy ending...well almost, Paro an orphan got someone who loved her back equally, well it took him some time to realize it but he did eventually and not to forget equally passionately, she even helped him get closure with his past, re-united his family, found an adorable and ever loving jija had her son Dhruv and many many more such moments. Agreed that this did not last for ever, but Paro is such a lovely soul that she would not want her loved one's to mop around with sadness due to her.
I only hope they show Rudra to bring about the positive changes in his life which were a influence of Paro, thus we can always find an essence of Paro in Rudra.

As for the 'kaamal ka twist' that Ashish mentioned, maybe its not been played out yet- a surprise or maybe he was referring to the new avataar of Sanaya.. he had to cal it 'kammal' girls, whether he likes it or not because this is his serial too and he has to go with the flow, lamenting your own serial which got you all the success is not going to sit well with the makers!

Give a chance to the new formula their trying to come up with is my opinion.

If the upcoming track is not going to sit well with me then I may consider taking a break for time being and then decide from then on!!

    1. I want to say so many things, but not yet. May be tomorrow, after I see the fate of Paro. Agreed that Paro got her wish. She finally found a person she could call her own plus a large family. From yesterday's episode, it is evident that she has successfully formed relations with everyone except Mohini. I seriously don't know what to tell about Paro-Rudra's love story. Something that should have happened in 1.5 to 2 years was fast-tracked and finished in 7 months. The positive side is that the creatives are finishing Paro-Rudra story faster than prolonging it for 2 years and then killing one of the leads, just to stretch the show. So, I am not going there again. Lots have been said and discussed about it. No beating around the bush. Though there is happiness that their relationship has reached a climax, it is also equally saddening that Paro has to be finished to make a closure to all of Rudra's past issues (Don't forget Laila and perhaps Tejawat too). Still holding on to a tiny ray of hope that something positive might happen. :( :(

In case Paro dies, I am sure Paro would be happy if Rudra remarries. Especially, if he finds someone he loves. But still not able to digest a few things. Like I said, I will wait till I watch the next episode.

About Ashish's statement, it could be true. One should not lament about his/her own show. Though the show is not fetching good TRPs, it has made him popular. And the fact is for the cast, it is just their job. They just do their jobs, like we do. We might like it, hate it. But we got to finish it. For actors like Sanaya, Ananya, Sadiya who have done really good work before, Rangrasiya might be something of an average project. The concept is great, cast is great, but the narration became haphazard somewhere down the line. Still, they go to work and do their jobs. No offence.... but my friend once said that they don't care much about it. And I don't blame them. They are not the writers. And like Sanaya said in one of interviews, their job is only to act.

I am not critical about the new plot. Let them show what they have to show. If I like it, I will watch. If I don't like it, then I would stop watching it. Sanaya or no Sanaya. Doesn't matter to me.

  6. Well said.....Will consider PaRud story as having had a happy ending with the birth of little Dhruv......and now watch RR as a completely new story...Love Ashish n Sanaya too much to give up....though not sure how a young n modern NRI girl will match with our Major Saab....

  7. You know what ladies?? I read an interesting post in IF which explained about Paro's promise to Bholenath. When she wanted to leave Rudra earlier, he was only healed physically. Now he has healed emotionally and psychologically as well. I am just using the exact words used by the author. And Paro got her wish too. A small family. So, there is another closure here. Bholenath is finally taking his beloved devotee back to his side. Kind of makes sense, but my heart refuses to believe the worse. :( :(

  8. Well it's official...it's a totally new show! Rudra has left BSD out of guilt for not saving Paro.....Setting changed to Udaipur.....modern Myrah...I think will be easier for us to accept this as the new show since no reference to the old Rangrasiya remain......Only his mooch....

    1. It seems like a real season 2 in a way, they are banking on Sanish chemistry to pull them through. Sanaya looks cute but AS, eeek! what is with that suit! it is rivalling Arnav's red and brown polyester number from IPK! His uniform and even non uniform clothes were nice, hope Myrah can change his fashion sense lol, I thought Sanaya looked adorable.
Only way I can digest this is if it's a new show completely with 2 great actors and that looks like that is what they are doing, I will watch, but the potential squandered with the original Rangrasiya leaves a bad taste!
Good Luck to the cast and crew!

    2. Lol .. Kiran, I wrote exactly the same thing below, before I read your post! Sanaya looks nice, though I don't care for her fringe ... love her dress.
      Rudra looks awful!

And I am glad they have changed the setting and even Rudra's looks ... easier to take this as a completely different show ... not a continuation at all. Agree ... the potential squandered leaves a very bad taste ... feel sorry for the actors that they have to persist in selling a shoddy product to the junta. Hope the makers improve the story telling this time around.

  9. @Dia: this: copied from your Today's TAke on IF:
Rangrasiya ... as sold to us ... was the story of a girl who believes in love, and what happens when her path crosses that of a man who doesn't. That girl is dead ... with her, the story of Rangrasiya is over. Myrah will only be the girl retelling Paro's story ... we already got Rudra's story in full detail. I'm not watching this for another love story ... I don't really want another love story ... because Rudra cannot love any other woman after Paro. So what comes after tomorrow is not Rangrasiya ... it's just Myrah's discovery of the PaRud story.
You hit the nail on the head here, sums up my feelings to the T, thank you! Kiran

    1. :)))

After seeing the SBS, I will treat this like a completely different show ... the characters have changed completely ... in my head, PaRud are happy in their own little world with their son Dhruv ... and this is a new jodi, Myrah and Roodra :)))

Unless they bring Paro back in the form of Myrah, of course ... in which case this goes back to being PaRud. But with Myrah being a minister's daughter, I don't think that can happen now.

  10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrsAcSKNvSQ&feature=youtu.be

Sanaya and Ashish's new look in Rangrasiya.

I'm quite happy ... this will be a totally new show, no resemblance to RR 1.0, as I would prefer to call the first seven months. Changing the setting, the look, the characters, even the BSD is gone ... Rudra is now a 'businessman' ... I think he set up a security company, and that's how he will meet Myrah.

I love the fact that Sanaya has her own hair ... although I loved her wig as Paro, her best hairstyle till date. But I don't care much for the fringe ... hope she loses it soon.

Rudra looks awful ... hope they get him some better fitting suits, in better colors ... this suit looks purple! And with a red shirt ... awful color combination :( Also, he needs to SHAVE!!!

  11. Going to see it as RR chapter 2.... Wonder how many of the Ranawats will make it to 2.0..... Was hoping for Mathali- Dhruv bonding. Also Rudra also has love n respect for his bhabhisa....have no idea what's in store...wait n watch and Don't get emotionally involved this time round....

    Gonna miss Paroooooo
