Move over, Tejawat, we have the next shatir villain in the house. And he has even deeper dimples, to boot!
Episode starts with Paro upset with Rudra ... how could he be so rude to the new BSD man, especially about his dead brother? Rudra tries to tell her that she's always too quick to trust the wrong people ... Tejawat and Laila being the biggest examples ... Paro counters that Rudra is always quick to mistrust people, Paro herself being the prime example. And she doesn't like it when Rudra is rude for no reason. Rudra doesn't agree ... so she gives him the silent treatment. Night ... and morning.
Darn, that's the big C delayed again for no good reason!
Paro sulking and Rudra awkwardly trying to cajole her out of her sulks has to be one of the cutest sights on screen ... especially when Paro isn't really very good at sulking anyway. What she is good at, though, is catching her Major Saab out in his tricks ... spilt hot tea, missing scissors, nothing works. Although she's too soft hearted to actually let him sew his button himself! Can't let her precious Major Saab do so much work!
It was so good to see Rudra on the receiving end of Paro's anger for once ... even though the anger was more cute sulking than actual anger. And it forced Rudra to apologise to Shantanu ... much to Shantanu's delight. And also forced Rudra to seek Maithili's advice ... yet again ... on ways to cajole a sulking biwi.
Shantanu is very, very wily ... he's figured out the family weaknesses, and will use them unscrupulously. Which includes flirting with Sunehri ... and her mother ... reading hands ... and telling everyone exactly what they know already, or want to know ...
The burning in Paro's life part was rather well done ... the right amount of menace, dissolving just in time into laughter. So Rudra didn't get upset at Shantanu holding Paro's hand.
So far Shantanu is a few steps ahead of Rudra ... the exchanged saree for widow's clothes ... to Paro's horror ... and Rudra's rage ... again he's sure that Shantanu is up to no good ... this time he beats him up, and Shantanu stays passive ... and a well timed voice message proves Rudra wrong yet again. He's caught the wrong guy again ... as before. Much to Rudra's baffled fury.
And Shantanu gloats ... as Rudra is divested of his duty ... first his job is gone, next in line ... the one he loves more than life itself.

So this track is going the othello way.

I liked the episode , am enjoying Shantanu's craftiness!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Paros sulking but didnt care for the reason. Same old, her trusting someone that Rudra doesn't trust and now pouting about it, why fight with your hubby over some guy you barely know? But that's our Paro, the Trusting. Also didn't like that Rudra apologized to Shantanu bc Paro was pouting, but that's just me.
Still, cute episode because of the focus on Paro and Rudra.

You know, it's good that Shantanu thinks he's got the better of Rudra, and that he's managed to fool Paro completely ... it will give him confidence, and he will make mistakes. Someone pointed it out in the last post ... Rudra showing that he distrusts Shantanu so obviously is really not the smartest thing to do.
Deleteyes, when you look at it that way, it makes sense!
Deletecan i just say how i love the maithili /paro and maithili /rudra dynamic, she's adorable!

I did read that RR is loosely based Othello, but that means this is also going to have tragic end? OH OH then I better reconsider watching this show, I am not a fan of any story with sad ending. I am a sucker for happy ending/ All's well that ends well!
ReplyDeleteComing to the episode, Shantanu is a smart Cookie alright, Dia you explained him very well, specially the last paragraph :-) and what I cant believe that kakisa fell for that line!!
Maithili was simply adorable, and going by the precap I am assuming that Shantanu does something due to which Rudra's uniform is in jeopardy again!!
I think Rudra beating up Shantanu will be enough for Col VK to dismiss Rudra and tell him to get hold of his anger issues. And also tell him that he's too emotionally involved in the case, so he shouldn't be in charge. Which actually makes sense ... or would, if Shantanu wasn't the villain!
DeleteMaithili was too cute ... she's taken it upon herself to be the Cupid in the PaRud relationship ... especially to sort out poor Rudra whenever Paro sulks. :)
Asli Duniya getting the better of me so full RR viewing is more of ''catch me if you can" event these days; the rest is thanks to this blog. Loved the glimpses of haveli today and I see that in spite of a secretive flight, Rudra Banna managed to bring his bedroom set plus painting with him :))))))). Can someone fill in the blank and explain the logic of a BSD officer taking up residence with the Ranawats please? Should he not be based in the camp? So far, they provided a logic for Paro's entry, then Laila's fictitious reason, Maasa's stay..............but an unknown BSD officer? and Mohini agreed to it?
ReplyDeleteI think the reason behind Shantanu staying in the haveli is that because the stalker had even reached inside their home i.e during Teej, plus knows all intimate details about Paro, Rudra and family, so the BSD put him up inside Ranawat's home for more protection details, plus he showed Rudra some assignment papers when he first entered, its a different thing that the rakshak is soon going to be the bhakshas!!
DeleteP.S. I love the new haveli too, its really grand ;-) but again there is a appropriately placed window for unwanted people to peep into the couples bedroom!! ( face palm ) :-/
....and to listen in on private conversations of a newly married couple ..........sigggggghhhhhhhh...............................director's prerogative, creative licence!
DeleteThanks for the explanation MB. I don't suppose certain niceties like reporting in at the BSD office, checking with commanding officer, etc. has been bothered with?
Ya none of those formalities are bothered with, or we must presume they have been done. The message is keep your brains aside and watch it or like the great person says( sarcastic of course )' Dekna he tho deko' ;-/
DeleteIt was a good / holistic episode. Everyone except Samrat, Dilsher and Mala appeared in today's episode. The voicemail was spine chilling. Still didn't watch the last 3 episodes. :( :( So, I was a little apprehensive as to how the new villain's acting would be. But he was not bad. Teek taak hain. He has started his mind games with Rudra. Poor Rudra.... Whenever he is right, no one believes him. Neither Paro nor VK Singh. So Paro thinks Rudra still has his trust issues. But she generalizes a lot. And she is being very very DUMB. Her smartness was shown in parts. First, when she escaped from Aman and Rudra, when they were following her. That was the time, when she didn't trst anyone from BSD, especially Rudra. Then she suspected Mohini during the laddoo poison track, because Mohini tried to hurt her and put the blame on Rudra (thereby discrediting him) when the social workers stayed at the haveli. Her character kind of makes sense to me now. Paro being a positive person, an eternal optimist always tries to see the goodness in people. She refuses to believe that people are capable of doing wrong things and having two faces. Atleast initially. I have met few people like her. Poor souls.... People consider them dumb and naive. Not being capable of coping with today's society. But when they see the true face of a person, they become cautious and guarded and more careful like the rest of us. That is the case with Paro also. She trusted Tejawat and Laila, but once she saw their true colors, she was smart enough to dodge them. Please don't ask me about Paro's female instincts, that should help her suspect a stranger like Shanthanu. Again, my only argument is that I have seen people who trust others to the hilt, which is sadly not a good thing to do in many cases. Now, the question is when will Paro realize that Shanthanu is the culprit. Now that Rudra would be out of action, thanks to VK Singh's suggestion to consult a psychiatrist. Really felt bad for him today.
ReplyDeleteThe palm reading session was open ended. Sab kuch jal jayega..... Kya jalega?? Sabzi? Ya phir, Paro-Rudra ki zindagi? That again was a good scene. Have to give it to the CVs. The new villain is smart in every sense. Hope they keep him consistent. Waiting for Paro's ultimate menthos moment. Patha nahi kab uski dimaag ki batthi jalegi!!! :( :(
V K Singh asked Rudra to consult a psychiatrist? When did that happen? I guess I missed that!!!! :-/
DeleteMB - you are not following SBS/ SBB or whatever else was thrown over the wall this past weekend???
DeleteOh so its coming up? Good I haven't missed it then. Thanks for the info.
DeleteAnd no I try to avoid SBB/SBS like plague,to me they spoil the element of surprise ;-) like to catch up on the promos though, and it looks like the CV's of RR don't know what that word means?!! ;-/ ;-)
Sorry morning breeze. Didn't mean to spoil the surprise. :(
ReplyDeleteMadhumitha
Oh that's fine Madhumitha, no biggie :-))
