Finally watched the episode ... and I thought ... not as bad as everyone said, I guess I was prepared for the worst ... the first half only. Anjali's web of lies and deceit deepens and thickens more and more.
Once Khushi saw Shyam and kept quiet ... Satyanash!!!
Her monologue with Devi Maiyya ... double satyanash!!! She actually sounded excited about Shyam's return and how he was taking care of Di ... *head desk ... head desk ... head desk!!!* Taking such good care ... from one look as he ran away up the stairs like a thief???!!! X(
Am going to try and forget that scene ever happened!!!
Rest of episode was just tolerable ... after Khushi's stupidity, was not in a mood to enjoy anything. For once, am glad there was such a furore on IF, hopefully the cv's will see it and do some damage control ... and change Khushi's behaviour.

ReplyDeleteWhattay puke worthy episode ... yuck ... it's an understatement actually. Oh Deepali you sure know whats good for you. Wish Sanaya had this much sense too. Barun as it is is sticking around because he has too. PH did help him with his movie now its his turn.
What the hell ... This can be the absolute reason why story writers have quit ... I mean one does know what it wants from the story they conceived.
But I have no doubt they will eventually do good in TRP race as they are slowly turning out to be ugly kitchen politics types.
Dear God ... DO NOT ever even for a glimpse even unknowingly make me a sister like Anjali to my bros. Sincere request.
She hell does not knwo what her husband is ... does not want to know but she is well aware of what her Chote is and what he has done for her. PERIOD.

SaRun quit .... show will end on its own. We will be spared from this torture. Quit or do something for your characters ArHi makes you ... you don't stand a chance individually.

ReplyDeleteshe sees a murderer roaming around in her hubby's house...the same guy who kidnapped and tried to kill ASR for his money...and all she does is think and go home and sleep.......isnt she concerned for even a second that the guy who is banned in the house, is easily coming in and out so can easily kill ASR again....if he wants to.... and Di will definitely give him the murder weapon on a platter, saying, 'hume toh sirf aapke fikar hai, aap thik rahe, baaki sab hell me jaye'

i think I wouldn't have been this sad if one part of me would not have got so attached to SaRun. I feel for this guys ... such talent but actor are only appreciated as much as their character in telly world. Khushi has been reduced to nothing. San din't win any award when khushi was at her best because there were no clear idea from where she comes for general viewer ... Now I don't even want to know.
Those who have not watched it spare yourself the torture and watch arhi scenes instead.

And can someone anyone speak up about the fact that apart from a daughter of the house, there is a bride who has not once voiced the fact or hurt that her wedding preparations came to a grinding halt.
I was looking forward to Khushi speaking to Arnav today after perhaps broaching the topic with Nani or a conference in his room with Nani, NK and Payal. Payal toh ab shaayad aaye hi naa waapas. And they plan and shceme and NK again mentions palnting a web cam in Di's room or at least and audio mike (so they can monitor conversations and ensure she is well and the creep does no harm)
I understand that all characters need space and Shyam and Anjali are intyegral. But the makers ither come outright and make the villain evil or stop doing the re-introdyuction and reminder to viewers. We have not forgotten the many sins he has committed.
Shweths, my favourite (there are many) is the car ride home on diwali, when he asks her"oh really" when Khushi says..."hum lavanyaji and aur apke rishte se bahut khushi hain" vintage ASR.....ah those gud old days....before the "nathanar" broke into this love story...never knew what pests these can be..really.....

R&R is therapeutic but when your mind has frozen up like a block of concrete you kind of go into shut down mode. But yeah life is moving on.

ReplyDeleteEpi starts with Shyam sneaking inside RM into Anjali's bedroom (So much for high security and the nurse sympathizes with snake, WT, dont they know who is writing their paycheck*
She says I cant live without you, I cant eat without you.
Shyam says Neither can I. Kyon Shyamji itnay din say bhookhay they kya or Anjali were you bhhoki, LIARS.
He feeds her all this while Nurse keeps an eye out for them.
The whole Raizada parivaar with so much food as if she delivered quadruplets is approaching her room as if they have nothig better to do.
Nurse warns them and Shyam hides while Anjali comes out says she is fine she will come downstairs and is all happy happy.
Everyone is so affecitonately feeding her, she eats a bit while Arnav and Khushi look happily.
Arnav thinks the medicines are working and decides to meet the nurse. Anjali stops him and goes upstairs with Dadi.
She forgets her phone, Khushi goes to return it, sees Anjali sleeping and asks nurse about the medicine, nurse says it is hormonal *funny actually*
anyway she sees a shadow is suspicious wonders if it is Shyam and then actually sees Shyam and guess what decides to keep quiet and not create a ruckus.
At home monologue with DM, that shyam seesm to have sudhrofied and is taking care of his wife with loads of hospital FBs. She decides to SAMJHAO arnav just so he can bring Shyam back.
Do it with ME *HEAD DESK*
And she goes to RM next day to see Arnav and Akash going to meet a new gynaec for Di's moodswings without anjali or any other lady of the house. He tells her he will come and talk to her when he gets back.
Now DI needs a psychiatrist, dont they realize that.
That is it. No precap.
And Garima and Bua are heading towards RM too to meet Anjali.
Why dont the Gupta ladies travel together, dont ask me.

DeleteYou know, I wouldn't mind Khushi asking Arnav to bring Shyam back ... after all, we all knew he would listen only to her or Di doing a major nautanki ... and in a way I'm glad he can hold out against Di, yet not against Khushi ... shows her importance in his life ...
BUT ... BUT ... BUT would it KILL the cv's to show some of that DIMAAG Khushi showed during the kidnapping track, when she didn't trust Shyam an inch, and she says the same to Arnav now ... we don't trust him we both know that, but it seems Di does need him now, let him come back ONLY for Di, for a short while and we all will keep an eye on him!!!
Why make her some mahaan aatma who wants to forgive VLR yet again?! Not after he almost killed her husband for heavens sake!!! That is NOT Khushi - she would forgive anyone who tried to harm her, but not anyone who tried to hurt Arnav ... HOW can she believe Shyam might reform, when she had not an IOTA of faith in him earlier, AND SHE WAS PROVED RIGHT THEN????!!!
Shall see how they take this on Monday ... I might even watch Friday's episode on Monday ;)

Arrey I had big plans for Akash myself. I wanted him to be Lakshman for a while, Lakshman who drew the rekha, who fought Meghnath (VLR is snake after all) and Lakshman who faints but nahii he is fated to be Bharat gurading the kingdowm and throne while ASR, Khushi and NK fight it all out.
Akash MUing ASR will be too much for creep to swallow. But if he makes it Di ke liye and says bhai I am not syaing you are wrong but I think you should grant Di's wish, chal phir theek hai.
why..is it so diffi to swallow....Arnav had asked Khushi to marry for their sake...Akash can claim moral high ground on the issue...real MU first resolved between bros and then they can go on to fake MU for Shyamu..shyamu knows that bit (holi epi)

And for small mercies, let it again be shown that Khushi thought of this because, Di's swinging moods ar having an effect on Arnav. It is her concern for his healthy and sanity that she has gathered teh guts to bring it up to him and no feelings for the fact that this insane person who could eb templted to take a life could mourn teh loss of another even though it be his child. Plus some chatter between teh 2 about how not granting this wish will place her in more danger from the VLR and make Di rebel but thsi way we call his bluff and get Di to ease up with teh family too. Someone from the family will alwyas be around to keep an eye. And ohyeah a call from ASR to the agency for a new nurse.
Par aisa kuch nahi hoga!! Darti hai par kari hai ki bhi ek seema rekha hoti hai creative team.
And can we please have the darned bluetooth back. Plus why gynaec, it would be awesome if teh brothers once outside speak of how they are actually going to go visit a psyhcologist to help Di get over her trauma. Post partum depression is a very real issue. It is not madness or insanity. It is a fact and sad reality of life. Educate the masses and dare to be pathbreaking as you claimed.
Anjali's so call masbooti, well thanks for clarifying it to aam unta (who is not so nutty) but now that you have done it, NO REDEMPTION for Shyam. He will be punished and Anjali will go on to be a single mother - adopt a child and learn to depend on herself. It is good that the mere fact of others thinking for her makes her happy, but she needs to learn that her happiness is in her own 2 hands not in anyone elses. And as long as it is not in her hands, she will never be truly happy as she wants to be.
Rememebr, there are multiple ways to reach the same goal.

The way they are making khushi is just getting on my nevers!! with deadline of my assignments and other things I seriously cant take this crap anymore .. I was watching this show only and only for sanaya and later on for ARhi.. though BS has grown on me that i might rent a DVD of his moive even if I have to tolerate that trash!!
And just hope what you said of ISTAMAAL is what she says on monday then may at least I leave on happy note ...

How are the thumbs? Healed I suppose? I will watch some more yaar because I still have some hopes that a story which began the way it did will still pack some punches. I need Shyam to become out and out evil in this show. The makers keep making him more evil and less evil just to suit teh tempo. Like Dia sys, have him done with and bring someone from the past to wreck more mayhem. Kya these guys have a rule, one story, only one villain?
Execution is slacking. They can pacck more punch in some of the ArHi scenes. The try has potential but teh team seems to have decided to change the path they take to reach the finish line.
Look finishing line is drawing close...there is no dount about it....its how long can they prolong it with grace....
DeleteRekha, If you look at last June till Feb, what was the amount of story but they still managed to go some 8 to 9 months. But abhi when there is so much possible, why the constant shifting around and inability to make up their mind. And a graceful exit never hurt.
DeleteIf indeed the finishing line is close, plan it well and let it nd with aplomb! I liked how they ended Saural Genda Phool while it was til lgoing good. End on a high, don't get kicked out!
I understadn they are layering and laying but in the past month and a half (abotu the time I have been missing here) the story seems to be going week to week basiss TRPs and demands from fans.
there had been so much ever since kidnapping track got over and without any proper execution on it or anything that followed they are behaving like headless chickens.
Deleteearly days there would be at least half of the week which you could count as just filling time likes yet likable but off late every episode is loaded yet forgettable except few worth ArHi scenes ... even these few they are not doing justice by overshadowing them.
Deepali made such a graceful Exit. Respect.

DeleteBooks are always good idea but ArHi has royally messed something in my head. Its wearing off slowly but I will need more time before I can read a couple for the ones I am actually reading. I need to catch on all time fav romantic movies too. Have not watched anything else lately. Will get back to dance shows YT list and dance away myself in its tune. This always help. Will resume my belly dance lessons.

This is actually a reply to ur post on my post about on "why Anji should hate Khushi?"a couple of days ago....
I know, Su, u and I do differ on how Anji has been handled...The thing is, Su, when u set about penning character sketches, at one level u have the clarity of what the character stands for...but at another level, its perception that takes over.When it is out there in public domain, u can control some part of it thru brilliant writing, direction, acting but some of it is beyond all this...THis is what happened to Anji's character, imo.
I agree that the character intended her to have a positive behaviour, righteous almost when in the know of what is right and wrong...Just like ASR's chinks in the armor, Anji's chinks were also evident and frankly that never caused any perception issue until the slapgate.
I read Anji as a person who has a jaundiced view of the world, having low self-esteem..To me, she appears a person needing help urgently.
That she will see truth when she is helped by people to see the truth..but she is not yet ready to face the truth....And importantly, truth is not something that one can call to order, it comes to us unbidden...and one must have the ability to take in on the chin...she lacks that for now.
So her future resurgence hinging on her abiity to see the truth and truth that she is comfortable with gives me no scope to sympathise with her
Meaning I have no sympathy for her on her situation....becos i feel people can be really worse off...(she is lucky to have a fawning support system)
and yes, she has my sympathy only as a patient...which again is a wishy washy portrayal by the Cvs...esp that line "woh aap hum par chod do" line to Shyam a couple of days ago...so u see my issue with this character...
My sense is that the CVs, in their drive to make her goody-two shoes have ended up making her a person worthy of ire...simply by not letting the character have some shades of grey....(whether that was a reaction to panic from fans or DB's own issue, i hae no idea) becos now Anji is not grey,she has become black....how do they redeem her?

They have been the strength, specially Sanaya who held the fort single handed-ly, they simply could not trust even a minute without her with Barun gone. How mean of 4Lions?? I am disgusted today on way too many levels than just the screenplay.

SI must be a very sweet person in real life. She needs a good manager to help with this kind of negotiations. For heaven's sake, she is the lead of the show isn't she? It doesn't come out in her characterization or her outfits or her makeup.
I have been watching Arjun , and although it is not perfect, it is not bad either. So if the PH can do justice to that, why treat IPK as their step-child.
I'll be very happy if SP takes IPK of air now. It is personally hard for me to stay away but at the same time take what is being shown.

It is Di's life and I abide by your judgement on that man but right now she needs him so let us get him back. That itself will be massive gripe issue for Arnav and he will be pissed but it will make me feel good and not idiotic at having fallen in love with these characters.

the other thing i kind of liked - when All were hovering around Anji - ASR was watching from a distance - as usual - the caretaker of the family looking after his flock - and for the first time someone looked at him - someone tried to come up to him and assure him all was fine!

there were just too many stupid things today to discuss here - why is the nurse hand in glove with VLR? how does he get in or out? why did KKG not tell ODB about him...etc etc
But what is bugging me the most is that ODG does not seem to understand what ODB went through all his life- forget the kidnapping and all that (KKG seems to have already done so) but she now knows all about his childhood (as much of it as he knows in any case) - meaning ASR poured his heart out to her - and she still does not understand his most important line - "i see my dad in Shyam - he did to my sis what dad did to mom" - how can she not think about that when thinking of getting TF back - i knew she would ask ASR to bring him back - have been saying it for ages, knew she would ask coz she thinks he has reformed - but why could she not want him back for Dis sake with a whole host of caveats - 'better keep the villain within reach' - 'save Di from walking away with TF' etc etc
just wondering if the PH actually ever does go through forums like IF to get a sense of feedback - well if they do - they will have to go either surprise us with a great dhamaka or do some serious damage control

CVs made a beautiful turn y'day by bringing the story to the point of conflict...my hurray post was for that...."Mujhe Shyamji lauta do" was the high point of the drama....the bugles blown...make no mistake abt that..
How does a protective brother help a fragile sister from a man he hates for what he represents in his life...how does he stop his own precious world that love built from collapsing?
But their use of khushi today to further that conflict baffled me....becos it belittles what has been achieved for the lovers after their uphill climb.....
Yesterday, Su asked an important question...does Khushi know what she means to Arnav..along these lines.....if i get her drift....I could not reply affirmatively to her becos one aspect of Arnav's obsession (junoon) for Khushi is still in some ways unknown to her...she still thinks Arnav married her for Di and went on to love her with time.....she in a way does not know what that terrace image actually did to Arnav on that fateful night...so in a warped way...the only way i see the CVs being able to salvage what they did today is by an explosive Arnav and Khushi's understanding its all not about DI.....the scene has major potential if it is handled well..another 15th Feb potential...keeping fingers crossed
That apart..the bloopers and continued logic se holiday has become too diffi to bear....

2. The bromance- are you kidding me? They looked like school kids! Now ASR needs Akash bitwa to accompany him for doc’s appt…C’mon...
Or is it because there is a sense of discontent in the set regarding the lack of character in their roles? That Akash scene looked too forced…was out of place. He could’ve left for work and said, “Bhai, shall I take the other car?”
On Deepali leaving:
Is it because she is not happy with the ‘Payal’ in the next track? She had nothing to complain about, since Payal was getting a lot of scenes post Kidnap and ‘the fire’ seemed to be back. So, is she going to appear ‘unpayalish’ very soon?
Also felt Deepali was not really comfy with her co-stars in the SBS and all. Anyway, she has said nice things as she is leaving, so BOL to her.
Liked these two things about the epi:
1. Khushi noticing Shyam- means the track is not dragging.
2. Arhi meet as the door opens…ASR’s concerned ‘kya hua’…these day to day things speak much more about Arhi than the RVs and hugs and falls. THANK YOU. (Even though you lost points for Akash, and the boring convo between Arhi- 'hum khayal rakhenge.' Yea.. yea….)
I can see I am the only person not ranting about Khushi 'understanding' Shyam.

DeleteWhen i see the mayhem on the forum and elsewhere about Shyamli occupying screen space, makes me wonder how could the Cvs have handled this better...
On the one level, this "betrayal" of Arnav by Anji was always on the cards....they had to show this....but am just wondering if they could done anything differently.
One is the correct portrayal of Anji from the slapgate onwards...shown her happy only becos she has had brainwash sessions by Shyam, show us a creative story that he sold to Anji, lulling her in to that state of bliss that she was shown to be in...(instead of those hiding behind pillars and silly text messages to nupur or whoever)So, this mighty drama of Anji would not come as a surprise but an expectation...yes anji will side with Shyam at the point of tipping...the losing of the baby.....point made and noted....
Today, the audience is hassled by the army feeding Di...why? Becos its an exaggerated situation causing an anxious audience to vent...chalo u had to show how the support system for Di is fawning..done...what was the need to show everyone in the house rushing like a platoon....hadd hain bhai....what was Akash's role there for god sake? naturally fans are mighty angry esp after a scene where the RM security has been abused the nth time...that too after a particularly moving Shyamli scene....So, Cvs have tested the audience patience by adding the Khushi googly of seeing Shyam and then calmly going to GH and sleeping over her problem...hadd hain bhai.....can u imagine audience "para" by now...
I think by keeping too much to themselves, the Cvs have erred again....thats where the other PHs do well...they promote a high point in a track...and then build the track around it...
If we knew this track is about the conflict building in the Arnav-Anji relationship, it would have calmed nerves far better than the anxiety that the interested audience shows today...according to me, a promo which showed Anji going against Arnav in some manner should have been released long ago and then this track should have been built around it....
Mujhe in sab ke bare kuch nahin pata par mere ideas bhi teekh hi taakh lagthe hain, even if i am the one to say so.....
Their promotion really sucks...so many of us would have done their planning for free yaar if they had asked us nicely....
Inspite of everything, i feel for this PH becos they actually have a beautiful sense of telling a love story...its the drama around it that they have failed to uplift...this is like pining for a lost love...IPK....ah!!

2.She thinks khushi has deliberately maligned Shyam and is out ot get Chote-then that would make Payal complicit -and she cannot be sweet to either sister unless she is even more manipulative than we thought- but that would make her righteous - protecting her chote - then why is she delighted at the remarriage plans ?
3.She is in denial that any of this happened - I liked the concept she was talking to walls and delusional - but they had to kill that too
4. the saccharine sweet Di wanting to purofy armaan about chote's Shadi - turns to the manipulate , emotionally black mail chote ..waith that's Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde..
There you go - we solve the mystery -Anjali is a Schizophrenia - Anjali meets Sybil ( the all time classic about a schizopreniac with 17 personalities...)
Khushi ne to Khudkushi karli - doctors can declare her brain dead...not telling ASR immediately that Shyam was prowling is tantamount to betrayal ..hope ASR sees red and knocks some sense into her...
Chalo RIP IPK - I see no way they can redeem this now...
Unless - buaji and garima dadi BFTP happens on Monday with huge dhamaka - big enough to send Anji and shyam into background and Arhi rift takes centre stage again - one more day of Creepali ( love that Sama) and people will swear off IPK for good I think ..
Total denial of Khushi's story : that all of it is false- that would make Khushi an outright liar in her mind - then she cannot be shown being sweet to Khushiji...

I am making an impersonal observation here, I swear and this is only for you. (Because we have dissected Anjali to bits and both of us have been frustrated with her)
I feel, there is a world of difference between you not being able to interpret Anjali and IF being baffled with Anjali.
In your case, YOUR ANALYSIS of where the PH lost is BANG ON- they FAILED at telling their story.
I feel this even more so after yesterday, but I don't feel let down, because I don't love Anjali or anything. ARHI is the main point and I patiently tried to see what the CVs were trying to say.
However there are very few like you who was neutral from the very beginning.
Most of IF: plain hated Anjali - did not want to give her a chance after DB fiasco- so I guess they will NEVER like Anjali ever again, however the CVs portray her when her realisation happens. They will just hate anything related to Anjali, I fear.
(When Anjali's rtr happens (LOL if the show survives till then or if Gul has intended a track like that): even then it will be 'she manipulated her way back, because she needs her brother to support her financially now that Shyam is thrown out for good'. I swear, it is going to be interpreted that way!)
This is why you and I can sit through Shyam -Anjali without any emotions whatsoever.
We don't love them...but we know they are being shown as a part of the story. Therefore we don't have to take an effort to tolerate them.

You hit on a point that we talk about a lot in strategic program management - Conceptual integrity..
When you start a long term program you need a vision and concpet and during execution it is very critical to ensure each piece is aligning to that concept you started with.. otherwise you end up building something that is completely different from what you intended IPK seems to have lost that integrity in the story and character development..
Anjali – they were doing pretty good till slapgate. I never had issues with Anji-ASR dynamic versus Khushi-ASR dynamic… As I’ve said before neither Anji nor ASR played fair. Anji was always manipulative – they brought that aspect out when she uses the contract to manipulate Khushi into agreeing to train Lavanya. She does it with the full awareness that she is being unfair and has no qualms . Even her apology to Khushi was lip service – mera kaam ho gaya so I can be sweet.
So her manipulation now did not come as a surprise to me …infact I thought it was totally in character. I was not surprised she had no qualms of lying to her brother about meeting Shyam either…she will do whatever she needs to , to get what she wants. She has always been gray to me since that contract Khushi scene.
What I found sorely lacking was the continuity in interactions with Khushi, Shyam, ASR, Dadi post slapgate…there they brought delusion into the picture – but did not draw the boundaries of that delusion – like you said – there is no clarity on what she believes happened…and they probably left it that way cos they forgot all about the integrity in execution..they show her knowing about khushi’s fiancé-shyam, the ring connection, Shyam in Asr’s room, shyam talking to travel agent – etc.etc. they cannot connect all these to her disbelieving Khushi and Nk’s story.
And I have no idea how they can even spin ASR,Khushi, NK and shyam all being innocent victims of a Galatfehmi in her mind logically I think that’s why they took the sympathy tack- make audience feel sorry for her so they forget logic too – unfortunately they timed it wrong – in the middle of the wedding track where the audience was looking for the closure to romance track – so it was seen as an interruption to their dreams and got irritated not sympathetic…non-linear story telling confuses the audience,eh pata tha- yahan to writers bhi confuse ho rahen hain:)

but these sudden flashes of quick silver thinking and this sayanapan, underhand behaviour has the most serious viewer pissed....(i call myself a serious viewer becos i don't have a problem with any kind of Anji, stupid Anji, delusional Anji, wily Anji, smart anji, manipulative Anji) all shapes and hues welcome, i see a story from the point of what u are showing me...i accept liberties (bloopers,silly co-incidences etc) of all kinds except the liberty to characterisation....or show me a gud reason for the change...if the reason is secret make sure the viewer is guessing....one way or the other...
I had a tuf time accepting shatir dimag on siberia vacation but since no one told me he is shatir, i accepted that a man in love can have his mental faculties seriously impaired... even today, if i find one sensible explanation of why Anji's behaviour is not perplexing..i will gladly accept..
After all this mass-butchering of her character, if she springs a durga on us, that will be last straw that breaks the camel's back...imagine, she acts all surprised at Shyam's true colors and goes on revenge mode....aiyooo that is unimaginable...
The unkindest cut of all will be if it emerges that all this natak was a revenge ploy of Anji all along...phir toh main sadme se ut hi nahin paoungi......Cvs can go any way i tell u....and ARHI, will become the biggest fools ever to have graced tellydom....

DeleteI agree that Anjali's characterization has gone for a toss recently. I tried to understand her for a long time based on Gul's interview when she said that Anjali is the more damaged of the siblings ... so I tried to interpret her behaviour that way, that she is deeply insecure and wants both her husband and her brother and her perfect world, and is even able to ignore Shyam's infidelity with Khushi because she knows Khushi didn't reciprocate, so she is able to accept Khushi happily, and in fact even want ArHi marriage because it removes Khushi from Shyam's path and actually strengthens her own marriage.
But after she has deliberately started to deceive her whole family, Anjali is not delusional any more, she is out and out grey. How can you explain away a grown woman agreeing to go on token hunger strike, tell her husband 'hum sab sambhal lenge' when he asks how will you convince the others, actually say aloud that what if I refuse to eat or drink or take medicines if you're not here, he says, "but I don't want your health to suffer" and she says, "I will manage all that" ... meaning she's doing it very consciously and deliberately, PRETENDING to go on strike and fast etc., to force her brother to agree to her demands. That's why now all that she does, her fainting etc., seems only like acting and not real ... she is actively in cahoots with Shyam now, not just passively ... and that makes all the difference.
And I seriously DOUBT she will ever spring a Durga ... not Anjali! Her character does not have that strength in it, it never had ... she can never confront anyone to save her life ... she can only manipulate behind people's backs and emotionally blackmail. Same way I doubt that this is all a ply of Anjali's for revenge ... she does not have that in her.

I know , now after this a righteous Durga from Anji is difficult to digest..actually now I can't even digest the dimwit Khushi doing a Durga...it almost feels like neither woman has the clarity of thought or spine to confront and clean up...this PH seems to be going the chauvinist way of its for man to err, women to forgive(not because of the goodness of their heart but because they are too weak to face reality) in an infinite loop till the man gets tired of playing the game ... and the women can claim moral victory ..Yuck
Well I watched it and the repeat, wasn't as bad as what I thought it would be. Don't shout at me but I can see khushi's point a little bit. Di is devastated by the loss, and Shyam is helping her through that loss, as he has also lost a child. Angi's mood is better, she is eating, taking her meds and coming through this tragedy with his help. But we know that Shyam is manipulating the situation for his own gain to get back into RM. Khushi just sees Aji getting better which will also in turn make Arnav happy. She is still apprehensive about Shyam and she has good reason for this after he tried to kill both her and Arnav, which is why she needs to discuss it with Arnav. It is her good heart that thinks that Shyam has changed, Hopefully when she speaks to Arnav he may get angry but I hope he makes it clear that he will never trust this man again. Arnav has to learn to explain himself better and give fuller reasons for his actions. Shyam is,going to get back in no matter what he has,to do to achieve that. Arnav has to use his brain and try and be a few steps ahead. Khushi hasn't forgotten what has happened in the past, she is just beIng Khushi. Trying to see the best in everyone, and doing anything for the happiness of the house. I am trying not to think that she is being a fool, but just trying to do the best for all even though it is misguided.

Lin, the problem is that we can definitely predict that she isnt going to talk to Arnav, else they wud've discussed on friday itself.... the way arnav dint have time to talk to khushi, says it all, she is gonna get him without discussing with arnav....
Deletethe thing is had they shown a scene after her spotting shyam, that she waited till late night to talk to arnav, but cudnt as he was unreachable, in office with some imp client...and later how she cudnt sleep cause she was scared of shyam sneaking in RM again.....she worried for arnav's safety calls him up, but doesnt say anything on phone as she wants to talk to him personally....
atleast show her debating bt shyam sneaking in RM...that guy tried to kill arnav, ordered his goons to burn arnav alive...wasnt she, the one who changed the kerosene to water...but she isnt alarmed at all....goes home and sleeps over it.....
even during the kidnapping track, they showed her sitting at the breakfast table, eating along with the family when arnav was kidnapped, she wasnt even knowing if he had food or not...but that was still understandable as she was pretending in-front of the family.....but friday's Khushi was unforgivable....after this whatever happens in RM due to Shyam the blame would lie as much on khushi as Anjali and Dadi...in fact more then them cause she has seen Shyam's evil face first hand
Lin, I agree with you that Khushi wanting to get Shyam in is understandable, in fact, I am happier that Arnav will agree because it's Khushi saying it, rather than because Di or Nani or Dadi saying it. And I also felt, in fact I think I wrote it a few days ago, that they need to get Shyam in to expose him to Anjali, because she is so blind in his love that unless she sees his evil for herself, there is no way she will believe anyone else. Not even Arnav ... which is what I thought she might believe earlier. Now she won't even believe Arnav if he tells her Shyam told him he loves Khushi and doesn't want Anjali ... Anjali will just say Arnav must have misunderstood Shyam, Shyam would never say anything like that!!! *head desk*
DeleteBut while it was necessary to get Khushi involved, they didn't need to destroy her character in the process ... as Geetu said, they should have shown her trying to get in touch with Arnav, trying desperately to talk to him after seeing Shyam in the house ... and also not thinking again that Shyam can reform, but thinking that he's might be a necessary evil, to be brought in only for Di's sake, but to be kept a strict watch on all the time.
I read some spoilers, so I think what's going to happen is that while Arnav and Akash are away, Anjali will collapse or something and still refuse food or medicine, so Khushi will finally call Shyam in without Arnav being there ... of course Dadi will add fuel to the fire and force her ... and that will create the mess. :(((
Rekha - i agree Creepali hogging the lime light right now is all imp for the story - hence am giving the PH one more week to make a move on this front ;)
ReplyDeleteSu- you and i were both sure that KKG would ask for VLR's return - and i agree she did what we thought she would - but what is bothering me is that she now knows how all of this effects her "hum jinsay sabsay zyada pyaar kartay hain!" - then how can she not even think of what he will feel? her dialogues and acting seemed to indicate that she was handling the same old ASR who was stuck on one point just coz he was ASR! she is not understanding what all this will do to him - the guy who sees 'his cheating dad' in Shyam! - that they both forgot their own KD i can understand coz hurt to self does not stand a chance in front of Di's condition but hurt to the love of their life - should that not equal to something - At least ODB was having those FBs - ODB also needs to show that - like sandy said - if at least she says somethings on the lines of - we need him for di but we will not forgive him or forget what he did - then i am ok - otherwise - What the..
ASR thinking about Di goes with his life. She is the most important person in his life which now also includes Khushi .... What the hell is wrong with Khushi ... I mean seriously favour SILs feeling over her husband!!!

We wanted Arnav to feed her in Mehendi, We got Snake feeding Anjali.
We wanted to see love, romance of Arhi, we got Shyam and Anjali's romance.
We wanted to see Arhi Chemistry, We got Shyam and Anjali chemistry which left everyone cold.
This used to be a good show with great story and consistent characters, not anymore.

Concluding thoughts:
1. Has Deepali really quit or are you guys still negotiating?
The whole TOI then TB segment reminds of the other D threatening to quit thingy..
Whatever, Deepali I wish you all the very luck for your projects, YOU will be missed, Please negotiate hard if you choose to stay.
I prefer PIA - Payal Instead of Anjali any-day.
2. Character Consistency
This hue and cry is not about screen space or love story of a different couple who you think have great chemistry while theaudience thinks otherwise.
There is a reason a particular couple that has the chemistry gets nominated and wins awards so stop pushing the other couple down our throat, makes us want to puke...Sorry Abhaas.
This is about Characters we fell in love with when the show started.
ASR...The dimaag one. Where has he gone?
I understand fully that now Gabrochand Potlivala Villain has graduated to being Gabbar Singh.
We get it, stop hyping him up so many times. Honestly we wanted a villain worthy of ASR, We finally got it.
Now the Hero comes into play. Stop Dumbing down ASR.
Khushi...The fiesty smart intelligent one...What was that yesterday, seriously?.
What is the enmity you guys have with Khushi's character?
Why is it getting massacred all the time?
You just showed Anjali has more brains than Khushi, Really?
We love Khushi as much as ASR.

There you go you got your Dhamaka and you have one less character to worry about.
NK, Nani, Mami, Dadi...atleast make sure these people stay in the show.
And if you can't get the original Mamaji, you have an excellent pool of junior artistes, pick one of them for it.

If so - it is going to be fairly ugly going forward - I don't think I have the stomach to watch that- will read R&R updates till it becomes more positive...if it does..
Now if the CVs throw us a googly by actually doing the logical thing - ASR tells Khsuhi to shut up, gets DI a hot Psychiatrist, hires a detective agency to get the evidence against Shyam that Di and Dadi are asking for ...now that would be a refreshing show to watch ...

DeleteI can stand everything else, all the loopholes, the lack of logic, what I can't stand is the destruction of Khushi and Arnav's characters, just to let the villain get away with everything. This is the hallmark of LAZY writing ... you can't think of how to cover the loopholes, so just ignore them ... you have a future track built up where (presumably) Khushi has to get blamed for getting Shyam in and create differences between herself and Arnav, so you make both of them brainless and stop talking to each other ... barely a week back you show them both spend half the might whispering sweet nothings on the phone, and when such important things are happening, they don't have time to talk to each other and share such important information? In this day and age with mobile phones and SMS's???
Khushi is the only person who has seen the worst of Shyam, he has told her to her face he wanted to kill Arnav ... HOW can she accept that he has reformed so easily? (This from your reports - I still haven't watched the episode) And even if she feels it is a possibility, she HAS TO speak to Arnav now about seeing him in RM ... that was priority!!!
Anjali going grey ... don't care, I was more surprised how she could accept Khushi so calmly, I managed to find a reason for that in my head and accepted that as well, but I always felt it was far more natural for Anjali to resent Khushi, for taking away both her husband and her brother ... the fact that she didn't made her saintly and too unreal in my mind ... I said as much to Su. Where I read her wrong - I thought she would favor brother over husband when it came to the crunch, but she is favoring husband ... she now comes across as openly manipulative and selfish. And it does seem that she doesn't want to let go her cherished status of Queen Bee at her brother's house ... with everyone fawning over her 24/7. This is not what I'm seeing, this is the way she is being portrayed and how it is coming across.
Sri, logic gaya tel lene ... long time back!!! WHY can ASR not use his shatir dimaag to hire a detective to keep track of Shyam? Even his so-called klutzy wife thought of that, but didn't have the money ... Now Arnav knows from Dadi's story that Shyam is definitely up to something, shouldn't he think about keeping an eye on him? Not just shouting angrily that he won't allow him near his precious sister?!
Morning R&R .... I went out stationary shopping for the year ... amazing angry bird stuffs ... bought a whole lot ... key chains, pencil bag, thermo mugs, pencil et al .... they are so cute !!! Oh and got a winnie pooh diary .... aaah me very happy with my stuffs.

If they are targeting to make her SP vahu .... they are doing a pathetic job out of it. She is neither standing by her husband nor thinking about how it will affect her sasural. Her act is not about anything anymore.
All SP vahus are right at the end and comes out as the only sane person to have thought through any given crisis ...here she is the one always to find out things she should not ...then react the way she should not ...then be the reason of havoc ...then become the punching bag.

I wrote a reply to it above .... Arnav can be all about his Di but for Khushi it has to be her husband first. Di is just a sisterly figure, if she showed such blind and strong reaction for Payal it would have been justified ... and she loves her husband to bits too or so we know. Boy I don't know if I even want to watch how khushi will react when Garima thing comes up. I know for sure ME is dedicated to entry of their golden boy. Sheeesssshhhhh .... we will be subjected to "Di apne araam ki" "hum apne kamre mein araam kartein hain" "Di apko araam ki zarurat hai" "Aap araam nahi karenge toh kese chalega" for another week &ArHi's dum dum dadum DUMMMMMM !!!!

i should have read the blog before watching the episode..was not really surprised with Khushi's decision not to tell ASR...
i am disappointed..but will stick around for sometime because i have dedicated too much time and energy into the show..and i love ArHi and SaRun too much!!

ReplyDeleteTrying to see some perspective where there is none, seriously, I have already made my peace with the CVs, but I need to point out a few things here:
This is a love story and the first part of it is over. It was about 2 individuals who could not stay apart despite hating each other.
**Yes, this was the BEST part and IPK will not be the same again.**
They have explored this phase and have to move on. They have to take the next step in the love story. I feel this phase is going to be about 2 individuals coming together despite family pressures to stay away. Right now it is only dadi , I suspect if Shyam re- enters, there will be a bigger picture with the
WORST CASE SCENARIO:
Shyam will convince EVERY ONE excluding ASR of Khushi’s duplicity.- including nani and Payal (Is this why Deepali quit?) and maybe Garima and Buaji too (If babuji’s illness worsens when Khushi is humiliated in public….GH will blame Khushi again b’coz she still may not tell her family why she got married like that, to protect ASR). And then it will be left to ASR to bring her back and convince HER to stay back and fight the resistance from his family- what happens in a typical love story.
This is the worst case scenario. I am not saying it is the BEST way forward…not even that I want it this way. All I can say is I’d like to see how Gul tells her story, because it has been fascinating so far and one crappy episode is not going to take me off IPK. My only prayer is that the makers don’t get BORED with their characters and turn out a series of episodes like yesterday- that was pure carelessness .
And if you could not take yesterday because Khushi decided to forgive Shyam and Thursday, because Akash decided to question Bhai’s authority…all I can say is I really hope you are PREPARED FOR THE WORST in the coming week. If they are not dragging the track, IT IS GOING TO GET WORSE. Because this track is VLR’s track- it is all about how he manipulated everyone including Khushi to get his ass (btw, AM needs to hit the gym soon ) back in RM. If that is so, it is not going to be a pleasant ride.
Uh oh, I am supposed to rant and here I am giving Bhaashan : let me get back to my task.

At the start of this week, I had said that CVs WILL NOT do justice to Anjali’s character, and that is exactly what happened yesterday. This is not how a mother (however manipulative she is) who lost her baby behaves…characterization totally sucked yesterday.

Just expanding that thought:
I feel Anjali’s character (and EVERY ONE else’s too- including Akash and mami…and very soon everyone if the worst case scenario happens) suffered due to Arhi. Please don’t lose it, read me patiently if you can.
WHY DID KHUSHI HAVE TO BEHAVE LIKE THIS?
It was not to lessen the burden on Anjali’s character- it is to make ASR look less of a MORON and di- bhakt.
1. Shyam has to be allowed back.
2. If ASR does it only based on Di’s demands, that makes him a spineless mama’s boy and as we all said, then Khushi might was well marry NK.
3. To avoid this weakness in ASR’s characterization…make it look like he had no other option…Di asked for hubby…dadi supported di…Akash and mami questioned his judgement… now Khushi wants him to forgive Shyam because SHE FEELS HE HAS REPENTED and every sinner and murderer deserves a second chance.
If you look at it from this pov, WHOSE characterisation benefited from making that demand. (We don’t even know what she will ask for and how he will react.)

MY RANT with the way did this is:
They SHOULD HAVE shown a scene of Shyam begging Khushi to forgive him, said something strongly like “Mujhe meri gunaahon ki sazaa mil gayeee”, it’d have given more credibility to Khushi’s way of thinking.

You were asking if the Cvs read IF: THEY DO. The y looked in to IF , saw how Anjali was perceived, decided to give the AUDIENCE EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANTED TO SEE: This is why Anjali went from brainless to manipulating in two days. (Actually I still believe that was them at their careless worst…when this happens, I hope something intense is coming up and that will not be Arhi. Last time I had this feeling , we got Anjali falling and losing the baby)
On Shyam and Anjali…we all know there is no love story there. But THIS IS SHYAM’S track…they have to show him doing something, I guess. This is why Arhi seems to have taken a BACKSEAT…it has to be so.
Personally, I don’t enjoy it, I don’t hate it either. Even Shyanji is better than Jeevika’s drama.
I am glad we are at least getting a few stolen Arhi moments in the villainwa’s trackwa.

I told two days ago that khushi is made to behave like this to save asr embarrasement when shyamu comes back but its harakiri for khushi like never before. Cant accept this anyway. I want arnav to explode and khushi to accept that she has been emotional fool. Keep mahanta at believable level ki hazam kar paye

i did not see the episode, will wait until the next one airs and see them together or something.

a few hindi serial recs..(i liked 'em, dont know if y'all will like or not) parichay and na bole tum on colors, somehow i liked what i saw of both. and madhubala.. now is when i actually see drashti dhami on screen for the first time.. she is brilliant! every other co-actor pales in comparison.. opti, dia, thanks for the recc!
my two cents on why khushi did not tell arnav about snake in the house.. khushi has always lived by her own rules.. self sacrificing she may be, and she always tries to keep everything calm on the surface, on every relationship except arnav. from the beginning, she bent to everyone else's will.. but when it came to arnav, she stood up, crossed him, faced him, shouted at him, got humiliated by him, still stiffened her backbone and worked for him, basically this is the only person she ever fights with.. everyone else, she bends.
so if khushi thinks that anjali needs shyam to recover, and that loss of a baby might have inspires shyam to mend his ways, then khushi will do exactly that.. she is not stupid.. she is doing what she thinks is right. she thinks she knows better than arnav about relationships.. especially about a married couple who seem to be in love despite the past.
everybody deserves a second chance.. why do you think she gave the rakshas another chance when he hurt her so deeply, not once or twice, but many times? she did not need an RTR to forgive arnav.. the love in his eyes was reason enough.. just like that, i'm thinking that khushi sees a HEA for TQ and her KP.

On Madhubala and Drashti: You said it- she is a wondreful actress. I watched the scene where she breaks up with her BF and recommended it to Dia, don't know if she is watching it,.(not now, any way, when she is busy with other things.)
Madhu- Rishabh is interesting NOW because they are in that phase Arhi was in B4- nafrat- mofabbat conflict- certainly the most magical part in every affair-as you go about discovering the other person.
And the CVs are damn smart too- there is someone to speak up for her- madhu yeh hai, madhu woh hai...(a little too much of that aunty actress...and selfish brat adopted sister...) Madhu kya hai, kya nahi hai.......uffff...Second best couple for me after Arhi.(Rekha, if you really need to detox, watch it in colors- comes right after IPK, it will not become an addiction like arhi- just something that will cool your mind after crazy epis)

i tried my luck on "pyar ka dard he" on SP, i cannot stomach the boy - pretty face, NO acting talent! the story is pretty cliche'd and interesting, the girl has a good vibe about her, the costumes remind me of khushi... saw bits of "ek doosre se", i did not know that there were so many cringe-worthy cliches in bollywood!
if she was going to tell arnav, she would have told him without delay.. it was an important matter... she had second thoughts, which is why she dint tell him. of course, i am this calm because i did not watch the episode, wont watch it till monday night i suppose.

will she be happy when she sees a happy Di with Shyam using all of Arnav's money and Arnav's haar-laden photo on the wall ??

and i agree with Su's deduction that arnav's fb.. where RR actually admitted to ODB that he loves KKG and anjali is just a roadblock.. is to underline the fact that his di's love is unrequited.. but he cannot tell her that in such a delicate situation.. when his di is crying "mere shyamji lauta do" how can he say that "your shyamji loves only khushi" which is the answer that comes to the tip of his tongue??

Deletewhat detox with another serial..nahin yaar...itni himmat nahin hain....i maintain ARHI is a diff story....(i have seen hate phases in serials that claim to be love stories but the feelings are never strongly conveyed). I saw one scene in SBS of the man following girl in a car in the rain..since i have no background on the serial...it was meh for me..sorry...i may have been wrong....but i guess i am prejudiced
IPK was the first that was able to convey the passion in hate.....i don't know if it was the brilliant writing or directing or acting or a combination of all these that made it so....but i won't fall for just any hate phase in love stories becos that is a phase that is fairly common in intense stories....
the scene of self-loathing at feeling attraction was superly conveyed in that car-drive scene after the rain hug......
the scene of near disbelief at Khushi's fascinating views on marriage on that "character deela day"(which secretly to me has been Arnav's own vision of marriage...never have i seen a man convey conviction of marriage is for keeps as beautifully as ASR did on telly screen)
the scene asking Khushi why did she not go back to Lucknow (on the anniversary party day) while secretly angry at her for putting him thru all that turmoil.....
the scene asking Khushi whether she wanted to know about the payal after the Diwali impromptu engagement announcement to La....almost willing her to tell him" i want to know" and hurt and churlish beyond imagination and saying the most horrible things to her even tho every word only betrayed his love further......
i can go on.....this is a love story told from Arnav's POV..primarily .i coud sense it every time he felt the love, the pain, the rejection, hope, the exhilaration despair...
Not that the pain and "kichaav" of Khushi was less evident...of a woman who felt this magnetic pull to this man whom she had every reason to loathe but yet felt drawn and powerless to stop herself from falling in love....
Su, i feel very sorry that the makers could not find creative ways to keep that conflict going without compromising on characteristics of the lead heroine...Its possible to argue it in Khushi's favour as easily as against it but there is something that is your own sensibility in such a matter..its my sensibility that is affecting me in appreciating this new view point of the makers
I may watch the serial for as long as it lasts but that wistfulness of what could have been may never go away.....i am sounding sad but i understand yeh fiction hain....dokha khana bahut hi lazmi hain.....

DeleteAbsolutely..Dia has done many many gems....one such gem is the teej arati day....when Arnav touches Khushi's hand while the thali is exchnaged......San was at her best....BS was at that time still not at his best but the episode was specially great for me for Dia's takes....i used to wait for her post to be up and only then my IPK epi was complete.....
there are many gems....and ARHI scenes toh magical hain....koi aur serial ya couple can't replicate that magic for me.....

(BF table- where ASR happily looks at a seemingly back to normal Anjali and Khushi wanting to kodak that moment forever- she has not seen him this happy after Anjali's mishap...)

Yaar, nothing can replace IPK. *hugs* all of you. We'll get those CCKKP and BBKKP again, just don't expect them everyday. It is not possible to churn out great stuff every day, the writer his good days and bad days too.(I mentioned Madhubala - it is not addictive- not half as good as IPK- but better than anything else I watch- does not feel compelled to watch it everyday.Yes, J, the guy is not as good as her, but he does not irk me like some others. It was boring initially, I just happened to watch that episode where RK breaks her marriage and her BF comes to break off their relationship because he cannot go against society. PKDH- ok, the hero's mom has more sex appeal than the girl. But I am ok about watching it once in a while.
I think the best thing I like about IPK in comparison to the above serials is that...the heroine is not out and out great. She makes mistakes too, like all the other characters in IPK- it is VERY CLOSE to real life. I don't mean that the situations and reactions are exact- proved by Anji track- but I am really not disappointed. Art can only mirror real life to an extent and we are not watching a reality show.)

1. Di crying for her lost baby.
2. Di asking him to give her husband back.
3. Dadi telling him to get Shyam back.
4. Shyam throwing it in his face that he loved Khushi and the only road block was ‘rani sahiba’
Since all the fbs were about Anjali, initially I thought that it just showed his dilemma- Di wants Shyam; Shyam does not want Di- and only ASR knows the truth, EXACTLY WHAT SHYAM TOLD HIM. He has not even told Khushi what exactly Shyam had told him.
I came to R&R and the thoughts here guided me that there is Arhi in these fbs, that the last one was a lover’s fb- BEAUTIFUL!
I had contentedly left it at that, but now two recurrent thoughts are coming to me on that last fb:
1. It breaks his heart that Anjali is still hung up on creepwa when he has plainly REJECTED her to her brother. This must be really painful for Arnav- that the sister he loves and adores so much is suffering from UNREQUITED love, much like his mother who ‘suffered ‘ because of the infidelity. And HE CANNOT BREAK this news to Anjali that Shyam actually rejected her. (It is different from having a casual relationship outside the marriage) This is why ASR has not come out clean to his sister; HE CANNOT BREAK HER HEART and tell her EXACTLY what was told, neither can he tell it to anyone else- it makes a MOCKERY of her.
Can he tell anyone at all what was told that night? It will hurt both Khushi and Anjali if he tells the whole world!
2. The second thought, which is an ARHI thought:
The last time this fb occurred, he blamed Khushi- he wished aloud she had never come into ‘their’ lives- b’coz in that moment he had forgotten Arhi and it was only di. But that ‘biwi manaofy’ track seems to have done him a lot of good, b’coz yesterday in his anger and frustration he threw the vase down and all he wanted from her was for her to stay back.
So now bitwa has his priorities right.
I hope bitiya has hers too……
In the fb back at GH when K looks at her mehendi , she remembers’mat jao’- so I hope this means she knows his heart.

DeleteI would be with you if it was the first or the second time ...it is not in this case...the human brain is built on patterning - as we learn we revise the patterns in our mind and that changes how we perceive future experiences. The day we stop learning from experiences, is the day we stop growing..even our beliefs change and get refined over time with our learning and experiences... the problem here is Khushi is not shown learning from her experiences...she is blocking off the experiences from beliefs and that conflict in beliefs and experience is the root cause of delusions :)
And forgiving is different from giving people chances to repeat the behavior :)

As for IPK I won't quit just yet but don't think i'll bother to watch everyday religiously anymore. Weekend Arhi bits and FF will probably suffice...

Gul has lost sight of Arnav, Anjali and Khushi she created ... nothing new though .... 4Lions have proved themselves in creating strong characters but not maintaining it, they actually destroy it beautifully. This makes me think its better from a hindi daily soap POV to have mediocre/simple characters. Sad thing is they had so many opportunities in which could have kept them strong yet story would have moved same way as now. Don't know why they took the broken route.

I have watched a lot of serial to justify my words when I speak too strongly about IPK. And no matter how lousy their story is they play with their strength. Whatever is good is always on the face. Second they never move their focus from leads and head of family.
IPKs strength is, was and always will be SaRuns popularity and ArHi chemistry. That's one thing they are not concentrating on at all. For the second point ... where people would have now loved to see Mami and Nani standing tall in their claim over their kids ... they have been sidelined. So all in all IPK at the moment has no lead ... no strong lady character ... no love. Its loyalty of SaRun fans mostly and of course general viewers who just keeps TV on for no apparent reason watching the show.
Dia - how i wish they had showed ODG&B acting like a team - now that would have been nayi sooch! - but no, we cant expect so much from the CVs - a loving, understanding, literally fighting for each other's life kind of couple, - Sit together and discuss something!! - no no how can that happen? - they will become human then and not saints or devils!

here is the latest on the maker's view on Anjali- if it makes things any better. Can't say they did a good job of portraying Anjali, but at least this explains what she is SUPPOSED to be and WILL BE in the future.
Watch the SBS and SBBs last week- there are none after 4th sep.
I must say I felt better after I saw that the mood on the sets is pretty good even with deepali leaving- at least THEY are not depressed, (even if we are).

DeleteBut in Khushi's defence, she did plan out how to trap Shyam during the kidnapping track and used her brain rather than her heart, so it's not impossible. And when is Arnav going to use that 'shatir dimaag' of his? And I wanted Khushi to tell Arnav about seeing Shyam ... but apparently the cv's don't want her to do that, so the lamest of scenes, she can't or doesn't think about calling him, he goes off in the morning without talking to her, and I can bet Anjali will do some drama and be ostensibly near death, and Khushi will call in Shyam all before Arnav returns :((( Urgghhh ... am not looking forward to Monday at all!!!

ReplyDeleteSu, I have been fearing that they will show a forgiving K just like they did in their earlier show and they have proved me right. It is hard to digest that the girl can overlook everything that the snake had done to them and think of bringing him back for Di's sake. If they had showed her recalling how happy Arnav was seeing his Di's brief happiness and linking Anj's happiness to Shyam's visit and later telling herself that in the interest of seeing Arnav happy, she will have to suggest Shyam's return (not because Shyam has changed), it would have been more acceptable. There is no way they can show her fall for Shyam's false tears after all that she has witnessed. She should have alerted NK, asking him to keep a close watch whenever Shyam is around so that RM is a safe place for everyone till Di heals.

Because what you described is exactly what I saw and that is why I have no problem with it.
1. Hospital scene: Shyam looking totally repentant + taking ASR's blows (girly punches as Jaya described it aptly) WITHOUT one word backor any defiant action: Right from that monday scene at least few of s sspected Shyam was able to hoodwink K, thank God, ASR knows better.(K is not brainless, just that she sees what he does not see- and she knows ASR seldom sees what she sees)
2. Breakfast table: K sees a smile on ASR's face- for the first time after godbharai.(Di happy= ASR happy)
3. K comes to know the reason behind Di's smile: A repentant caring Shyam who has learned a lesson.
4. I don't know why you are all saying she is forgiving without a reason- or that she is showing too much mahaanta knowing her naiya is sinking (Rekha).
A) She is forgiving only because she feels Shyam has turned over a new leaf.
B)She is not showing mahaanta- she does not expect her boat to sink- in fact she thinks she is making it stronger- she is giving ASR a happy family where Anjali who already loves her SIL, gets a deserving husband! It is her SKD, yaar.
I liked Dia's OS, it gives us a thinking, mature K. But that is not Khushi- her heart guides her actions...difficult for us to accept because we are all liberated urban women.But I can guarantee you, there are womenlike this- and they are respected by their husbands for holding the family together without sacrificing themselves.
Khushi is not saying, "Main apne pyar ki kurbani de doongi- di ke khatir": She may have thought like that once upon a time, which is what drove her to GH- she will not anymore, because "Humein pata hai, aap humse bahut pyar karte hain"
Really, Gul has explored everything one way or the other; hats off to this lady and her team- hope they can keep up the good work- and kabhi kabhi freaky fridays have to happen- sometimes the creativity gets drained. I feel better after watching the SBS link I gave above- at least they know where they are going with Anjali...and it is not Ekta Kapoor way.
From what I understand in the earlier show, did the guy repent or not? If he repented really, what should have been the punishment for a sinner repenting?

DeleteI have a problem in what she sees. She has already seen the worst of Shyam. That man fooled all of them for so long. He tried the same tricks even after he was found out. She has seen him stoop to the level of trying to kill Arnav and her. She has seen him openly declare that only she matters to him. Even after knowing of the baby's arrival he never stopped leching over her and was prepared to divorce Anj for her sake, which means he never cared for the baby. All of a sudden he is supposed to have turned into a new leaf and she believes it?
I am annoyed at the treatment in this show because I have witnessed this is in their previous show too. Yes, the guy was shown to repent (mind you only a string of words). When the heroine decided to forgive him , I supported her because they initially showed that she did it so that she wanted to move on with her husband after the emotional blow dealt by the loss of their child (a child fathered by the crook bro). Since the anger was consuming her husband and she knew that his anger was because of what he had done to her, she wanted to let go so that he will be able to let go. This had the opposite effect though because the hero could not understand the reason why she gave up on their fight for justice so easily. Somewhere down the line the message was lost and it was turned into her active promotion of her crook bro-in-law's love life. What took the cake was when she actively played cupid to that very creep bro and that too with her own sister. The crook bro's sudden change of heart was also not properly explained. Anyone who had seen that show can relate to the revulsion we all had for that stupid track and since then the show just went down hill.
Contrast this with a show called Gulaal where the hero's cousin lusted after the heroine and gets the hero killed so that by custom, the widow gets to marry him. The heroine did not want to get remarried but being forced to do so, she chooses to marry the twelve year old brother of the hero instead of this cousin with the intention to free the boy and get him married to a girl of his own age once he is old enough. When she finds out about the evil cousin, she confronts him and lashes out at him. The man cringes hearing her piercing words but is surprised to see that she keeps quiet of his wrongdoings. He later learns that she maintains her silence because she had promised her late husband that she will keep the family in tact. The man genuinely repents for his sins and spends the rest of his life taking care of the hero's family. He remains a bachelor right up to the end.
I accept that in this show Khushi saw Arnav happy to see Di happy and that Di's happiness seems to be linked to Shyam's clandestine visits. So if they had showed her thinking that for Arnav's peace and happiness, she needs to get Di to be happy and that is the sole reason for a plea for Shyam's return and not because Shyam has changed. In fact she should have shown to be resolute in unmasking the ugliness of Shyam once Di is made strong again. But first things first Di has to be healed and since Shyam seems to be doing a pretty good job of it, for now Arnav should be asked to set aside his anger and look at the larger picture. She should have been shown how she plans to tell Arnav that he can give restricted access to Shyam while keeping a close tabs of his activities for the last time the creep escaped it was for lack of evidence. This time they will jointly gather that. That would have shown that this show is different.

Even if Khushi lets her heart guid her actions, she will never over look what Shyam did to all of them because it would be her heart (her fear for what dangers can be unleashed by Shyam) which should be governing her thought process and not this stupid thought that the baby's loss has changed the creep.
