Random Thoughts - will update episode later.
Arnav - kya kya karna padta hai tumhe ghar le jaane ke liye.
Khushi is his wife, they are married, all these rasams are just for the world, and for Khushi ...
Dadi - 'Arnav put all the blame on his dad, and none on the other woman.'
But Arnav told Khushi earlier that he hated both his dad and the other woman. Dadi again seeing only what she wants to see? Or Arnav showing her only what he wants to show her, knowing that if he allowed even a whiff of suspicion that he hated the other woman as much as she did, would make things worse for his mother. The same way he's shielding Khushi now ... will he shield Garima the same way when the truth comes out ... shield her in public, yet be unable to forgive her in private?
Shaym did not know much of the past history.
Satisfaction - Khushi knows as much about the past as Shyam does ... no googlies Shyam can throw there.
Garima has a picture of herself with Arnav's dad, but Arnav's dad (AD for future reference) asked his wife 'kaun si aurat?' Was the affair one-sided? Again same picture - AD was helping Garima for some reason with her orphaned niece, Garima misunderstood it as love, and/or fell for a married man ... 'jawani ki ek bhool' ... realised her mistake when she learned he was married and withdrew, but the damage was done. Hence her quiet when Dadi accused her ... her own feeling of guilt that she might have encouraged him.
What 'jhoot' did she tell Dadi?

PS - Barfee was beautiful ... a really nice feel-good move, showcasing the innocence of love.

ME Promo was actually apt - most of the episode was about Dadi-Shyam-Garima, and whatever story progress there was, happened only in those scenes. Arshi scenes were only about Arhi making out and Arnav bitwa getting very, very impatient :"> - however, they made the episode watchable ... can you imagine an entire episode devoted to DaDaGa? :-&
(DaDaGa = Dadi, Daiyya Ho and Garima ;) DaDiDa = Dadi, Daiyya Ho and Di )
Dadi-Garima - Face-off that wasn't. Buaji explains to the audience why Dadi didn't recognise Garima. Mami has whole-heartedly accepted this wedding.
Of course, how can there be a face off when the villain hasn't engineered it?
Arshi - have their own very private haldi :"> Arnav bitwa is getting very impatient to get his bride home and to himself. Good thing too, with such a hot biwi, I was wondering about his hormones. Glad to see them alive and raring to go! And even more glad to see Khushi's hormones in the same state :">
Garima, why didn't you hide that box more carefully?
Dadi leaves ... Shyam offers to accompany her, he has some investigation to do, and who better to start with than his gullible Puppet Number Two? Liked the reactions of the family, especially Mami and Akash ... the way Mami turns to Akash when Shyam says he will accompany Dadi, silently telling him to take over Shyam's plce ... Mami does not like Shyam trying to be part of the family again. Another hit and miss Dadi-Garima face off. Buaji annoyed with Garima for avoiding Dadi.
Arhi wait to wash off their haldi ... Payal gives them the temple water fetched by Dadi for the first wash ... then the bathroom is occupied. Cute Arhi scene, served no purpose at all, just a filler in an ME, but an entertaining one ... sweet to see Arhi waiting with each other like a typical married couple, Khushi handing Arnav the towel, Akash snatching it, Arnav waiting resignedly again, not very bothered about the delay ... they were together, so it was okay. And they were finally reduced to hand pump or Happyji's pipe :)
Dadi-Shyam ... aww, so sweet, the way Dadi is so bothered about Shyam's insults from the family and Shyam puts a brave face on it ... the ever-suffering misunderstood martyr ... He will try to win everyone's hearts ... Dadi is SUCH a gullible fool!!! :-& Why don't DaDiDa run away together and make a home for themselves? The rest of the family will be only too happy!

Also we get an idea of what lies Shyam has fed Dadi - that Khushi did fall for him, but it was her 'jawani ki bhool' ... and he misunderstood her and made a mistake (did he tell Dadi about the engagement? Would be interested to see how exactly he explained getting engaged as a 'misunderstanding' on his part ...)
Dinner at RM ... Shyam's next step ... get Arnav or Dadi to spill some more information. So rile up Arnav and get Dadi to yell at him and spill some beans.
Again liked the family's reactions, especially Mami's and NK's, very clearly unimpressed by VLR. Glad Arnav made it clear again that Shyam is there only on sufferance. Payal could have been better, Akash needs to brush up his expression of disgust, he only looked mildly curious at what was going on.
Shyam the ^%*&^$ ... could Arnav not tell him, this is my house, and I have paid for all the food on the table ... you are a guest here and that too on sufferance ... I will eat what I like, you don't have to offer it to me! It's not your house to act as host!
Dadi the fool of course impressed with Shyam's noble forgiving act ... yells at Arnav that he has to forgive Shyam ... and spills one more nugget for Shyam ... Arnav hates his dad and has never forgiven him.
Shyam has been damaad for three years, and didn't know this? It's come out at least twice before between Nani and Arnav during the La track.
Creepali - Shyam does more ferreting out ... all he knew was that Anjali's first marriage broke, that her parents died in a 'haadsa' on the same day. Again smart going ... the way he played bheegi billi, sorry that because of him, Arnav-Dadi had a fight. And he is an outside so doesn't know the family history. So of course Dumbanji tells him and now he learns about the double suicide and that AD had another woman in his life. And both parents committed suicide because of that other woman.
DB's body double explained ... she seems to have been down with a cold/flu.
DaDa - Daiyya Ho back to Dadi ... learns the crucial fact that the other woman's name was Garima. And of course, with Garima's strange behaviour, he puts two and two together that Garima was the other woman.And learns that Arnav always held his father responsible for straying and never blamed the other woman.
But Arnav hates the other woman too - he told Khushi that. A natural reaction ... he might not blame her for tempting his father, but he does hate her for coming into their lives and destroying them. Which is exactly the reaction I would expect Anjali to have towards Khushi ... knowing her husband strayed to Khushi, even knowing Khushi was not to blame, but resent her nevertheless, for tempting her husband, even unknowingly. This is something Dadi and Anjali, and therefore Shyam don't know. Arnav has only told Khushi that.
Couldn't help seeing the contrast between Khushi's and VLR's reactions when they heard about the past ... Khushi's heart goes out to both Arnav and Anjali ... VLR only worried about how he can use this information.What a scumbag he is! X(
Dadi's viewpoint ... archaic to say the least. X( AD is blameless for straying ... it was his wife's duty to bind him to her pallu, and the other woman's fault for tempting him and breaking up the marriage.
So she holds Shyam blameless for straying ... it's Khushi's fault for tempting him, and now Anjali's duty to keep Shyam bound to her pallu and not let him stray. Is that why she encouraged Anjali to call Shyam back, and now encourages him to bind him with such overpowering sweetness and love, and not say a word about his infidelity?
And although she knows AD did stray, but Shyam is one step better than even her own son - apparently she feels Shyam didn't stray ... it was all a big MU on his side ... so he is even more blameless than AD.
This woman is something else!!! Hope the next track shows up her blindness and she gets booted out. Such prejudiced old-world hypocritical thinking gets my goat!
Gupta family and Arhi again ... relief after such unadulterated evil. :)
Arnav brings Gupta family home to play games ... have NO clue how this scene works ... after haldi, it was clear boy and girl cannot meet, so how come this sudden family picnic to play Passing the Parcel?! :)) Seems to have been put in as a complete filler for the ME ... no sense to it at all! But it was pleasant ... so am not complaining. ;)
Garima tries to avoid again ... but Arnav insists. Khushi comes back for the medicines ... another hit and miss for Shyam as he steals into the house to find Garima's Pandora box ... this guy is obviously a crook and an accomplished one, the way he gets in and out of any locked house without a problem! So Shyam manages to find the picture ... Blooper - he was there for the R parents' shraad - did he not recognise the picture of AD? Or did he never pay attention to it? It was faded and scratched out on Garima's picture.
RM again ... Dadi doesn't want to play. Thank God! We don't see her sour face.
Mami actually welcomed the Gupta clan ... her attitude to Khushi has definitely changed since Shyam's return.
Khushi goads Arnav into playing ... did Akash just bet his mom/NK/Payal that would happen? And a repeat challenge 360 of the sangeet ... if I win, you will do what I say :) Khushi wasted her win, she just asked Arnav if he had bought the bangles for her or not ... hopefully Arnav will not waste his chance here :)
Shyam returns ... Anjali invites him to play ... and sees the reactions of her family ... so she is not delusional about her husband's place in this house. How can she, as a loving wife, put up with this? If after the wedding (if it happens) she doesn't put her foot down about moving to Shyam's house with him, and refuse to stay on in her maayka, where her husband is not welcome, her character will be destroyed even more completely.
Shyam goes to confer with his new best friend and Puppet No. 2.
Liked the Passing the Parcel scenes, again the family reactions were done well, the new director/team is suddenly paying much more attention to detail. Payal's mami act was cute, when Garima starts her 'going to get Shashi's medicine' act, the rest of the family continues to act throughout in the background, even after Arhi leave for their private punishment ... Buaji pulling NK to dance, NK pulling Mami ...
But while background details were good, Garima's reactions to Shyam were pathetic. How can she be so pleasant to him? The G family's resentment and dislike shows up clearly, but hers is absent. Poor direction/acting ...
Arhi ... Arnav as usual tricks Khushi into losing ... with their very private nose touch thing, Khushi falls for it yet again! :)) So he will punish her, but in private. Aajkal Arnav bitwa wants a lot of privacy with his biwi :) ... bitwa, when she was with you 24/7 in the house, where did your hormones go begging?! Like the way the rest of the family is totally unconcerned about these moments ... I thought Bitwa-Bitiya were not supposed to meet after haldi ... let alone alone in their bedroom ... I guess the family feels they can't do anything they haven't already done :) They were living together as a married couple for six months, and at least the last two of those were actually happily married ones.
Garima goes off to fix Shashi babu's medicine, VLR tries to set up a meeting between Dadi and Garima. Another WT* moment for me ... VLR telling Dadi - Khushi's parents are our guests, we need to look after them ... hello, Creepwa, get out of your delusionary world ... this is not your house, and no guests here are your guests! Nor are they Dadi's ... she's in Arnav's house, and Arnav is very much with his guests.
Have a feeling VLR will fail today ... the face off will happen during the pheras.Unless the spoilers about Dadi agreeing for the wedding are true ... Dadi feels that a Khushi wedded safely to Arnav is less of a threat to her precious Shyamoo's marital bliss than a kunwari Khushi!
And Arhi having another very private moment :"> ... what did Arnav whisper into her ear that made her jump? :"> Bitwa is leaving no chance to touch his beautiful biwi, and Khushi is getting totally turned on by her hotwa hubby ... and damned nervous about it! She knows she's pretty much putty in his hands when he gets too close. :">
So the romance junta will tune in on Monday to see the Arhi encounter, and the drama audience to see the Dadi-Garima one.

Did Khushi expect him to fool around with her dori when he touched her back? Superb body language by Sanaya there ... the immediate reaction when he touched her back ... loved her little mischievous smile before she put haldi on him in her turn ... and the way the smile dies away when he came so close ... the cheek rub was a very mutual one. And hot!!! Their own private haldi ceremony ... very private! Khushi tries to retain some sanity, Arnav is in the mood for major teasing and loving ... I'm not breaking any rules, I can't see you behind all the haldi ... Khushi gives up, he has even more haldi than her so it's all right ... some rules are meant to be broken :">
And the umpteenth attempted kiss ... seriously, cv's, haven't you heard of trick shots and camera angles?! Just be done with it now ... Bitwa is dying here! :))

I am looking at it from the point of closure for past from Arnav's pov...and i see the path is riddled with troubles whichever case it be
In the first case,
Imagine, what would be the closure for the boy, Arnav who has spent a lifetime trying to hate his father and the other woman and gets to know his father was never in the wrong....while that gives him some closure to the hate but what about the guilt that he Mued him....i mean he is no longer there for him to see forgiveness....or tell his mom, she was wrong...tho there will be some end to his endless hate...but then his gullt may start in respect of Khushi(past) etc
In the second case, the closure is also diffi...imagine knowing u hated a man for a bond that he shared for his own mother....maybe the circumstances will liberate him.....
in fact, i am not even sure how this is going to be...BUT somehow i feel Arnav has to make peace with his past
Actually my mind is in a muddle right now...I am only hoping Arnav gets some peace of mind when he faces the past......it really sucks to be Arnav and moreso.....poor guy can't even get a kiss...

Sorry to be party pooper...while the ARHI scenes are all awwwwworthy....so gud that even as standalone scenes without even any link, background they will pass muster...
But the rest of the narrative is falling apart....
What is the need to contrive situations so badly for a faceoff....can't there be some fluidity to it?
Anji has not talked about her past to her Shyamji...but he knew where to find dadiji how stupid is that?
when u make a story and then try to connect things backwards, such mistakes will always occur...Today proves that Dadi was an after thought....to the storyline..or making Shyam central was an afterthot....something is funny and i can't put a finger to it...

is it still possible that arnav's dad was never wrong.??? i mean after what dadi said today - "agar hamare lakh samjhane ke bawjood bhi arnav ke pita behak gye to unki maa ka ye kartwaye tha unhe apne vash mein krna..."yes DD is still blaming the other woman(jisne arnav ke pita ko apne pyaar ke jaal mein phasaya) and arnav's mom who was not able to pati ko bhatakne se rokna(god knows why she is against all the women) but dnt she make it clear today that Arnav's dad was definitely involved knowingly with other women(garima)who maynot even know he is married(my thought)...

later after 18-19 years...someone tells Ratna that he is still seeing her (maybe a trick by the evil chacha) hence she gave up...and he also felt guilty so ended his life....
and thats why Garima is also guilty that he never loved Ratna because of her......
i also feel tht Arnav wont be her son, cause will Shashi accept a woman who has a son outside marriage.....since he know the whole truth.......
also since the entry of Dadi, Garima is mostly scared of facing Dadi but never once has she had that motherly instinct towards Arnav as a long lost son....

While i see ur point on Sashi....but he has been shown as a man with a broad perspective to life....at all times....so him marrying the second time around a woman who perhaps was in such a situation is not all that shocking....who knows Garima herself may not know that she is a mother to Arnav...not the birth aspect ofc but the fact that she has a son alive, (there are lot of filmy ways to do it...u get the drift...i don't have to explain).
Sandy, dia and I had a long discussion on this sometime back thru PMs on IF while it is all very complicated.....also the timing is very strange bcos Arnav is younger than Anji so even that is an issue in how it all happened but personally i am drawn to this thot..(blame my romantic notions for it, very few are now remaining with respect to IPK)
I am not holding my breath tho...i wont be surprised if it never comes true...

Jaya, I am on the same page as you ... it will be a combination of MU between Pa and Ma Malik, with added tadka by Chachaji - I wouldn't be surprised if the dad's death was murder by the chacha. Because why would the dad commit suicide after his wife's death, that too on the day of their daughter's marriage? Whether or not he actually had an affair? Did the chacha take advantage of the mom's suicide to commit murder and make it look like suicide?
DeleteGarima definitely knew Pa M, but I doubt she had an affair ... either it was a one-sided admiration, which she felt contributed to the MU between the Malik couple, or she was hiding a secret for Pa M, so she lied about an affair as being the lesser of the two evils.
On this one I do trust the cv's ... this was the original story mentioned in the very first write ups about Garima, that she has a mysterious past, and the connection with Arnav's and Khushi's pasts. So they have to have thought this one out reasonably well ... but also, it won't be very complicated, none of their plot lines are actually very complicated.
Dadi is wrong about the other woman - that goes without saying. But how does that work without making Arnav wrong about his dad having an affair?
Geetu's idea about Dad and Garima being in love, separated by Dadi, she got him married to Ratna, but he could never love her ... that might work ... but then why did he deny there was another woman?
Quite a few ways this could unravel ... also the cv's might not be thinking in so much detail, and we might just get a sketchy stereotyped story with tons of bloopers ... which we will have a field day with! :)
Dia....agreed...makes sense not to make it too complicated as there the lovers antecedents to consider....and that has to be kept clean and free from doubt in any situation....

A woman who maintain all civility with a man who almost ruined her daughters life.
A woman who can forgive a man who lusted over her, tried to kill her and her hubbie and did not care a bit for his child even after chance was given to him repeatedly.

DeleteI am with you on the poor treatment of women in this show and I am not surprised, going by their earlier showwhere they made a mockery of a woman's fight for justice. I am just disgusted that this PH is headed by a woman.
If they wanted to keep Shyam around they should have left room for doubt during the kidnapping track, ie, Khushi and NK should not have got evidence against him which proved that he was behind the kidnapping. The entire PG in GH was also a stupid plot because there are just too many witnesses to his stay there, a fact he has not been able to clearly explain and still he is leading people to believe that it was all a MU? And dumb Anj is believing it when she was well aware of what was happening in Khushi's life at the time? It is becoming increasing difficult to suspend logic to watch this ridiculous show and I am still hooked to it because of the undeniable and palpable chemistry between the leads. It is high time the PH learns to develop other depts besides getting the chemistry right.

2. anjali did tell shyam about her parents.. my first marriage broke, my parents died in a hadsa, so we went to live at RM.. so maybe she did tell that my dadi lives in an ashram.
3. shyam being central to the story is questionable.. specifically, the whole kidnapping track was an add-on, so he became the unwitting central character.. if the kidnapping (movie dates) did not happen, i guess shyam angle would have been much less.

The very fact that bauji never got well to expose Shyam- indicates to me that bauji is still not well enough to speak only to keep Shyam in the story. The day bauji gets better, I
might believe Shyam's days are numbered..unless he comes up with something else.
I believe he is not an afterthought.

BFTP was due now. Gul's iv said that- ASR gets to know of K's innocence- then Shyam revelation- then BFTP comes- she mentioned it OH so casually, but even then I had the feeling Shyam will be back in the BFTP track too.
Khushi Express- sounds like a nick name- their families might have known each other- and both families suffered due to the Raizadas?...I never believed in Dood's theory of Shyam as Arjun to get his sister's babies named- he wouldn't be ogling at Khushi then...He behaves like Khushi rightfully belongs to him...yet wouldn't touch her without her permission..trusted her..made that declaration of love..he was not acting there- so many things don't add up yet, hopefully it will make sense later.
Nahin yaar...if he had a Khushi connection (DDR), he would have known the Garima link to Raizadas if they are common dushmans.....

My thoughts ... Shyam is not an afterthought ... he is one of the four main characters ... Arnav, Khushi, Anjali and Shyam ... in that order. Of the four, the first three are the pillars, Shyam was supposed to just be the love interest of the sister, but I think his acting got appreciated, and DB's is limited, so he became the chief villain.
DeletePersonally I think his character has run out of steam as villain on the inside and it's pretty silly the way they're keeping him on ... Anjali knows everyone hates him, Dadi is a very traditional woman ... how come neither of them have even once suggested that Shyam and Anjali leave the house and set up their own home? Just one dialogue is all that is needed ... Anjali saying she will leave with Shyam after the wedding, Arnav forbidding her to leave because he wants to keep an eye on Shyam ... he is stuck either way ... but that dialogue is required for Shyam's stay here to make any sense.
And after Anjali also discovers his truth, he HAS to be thrown out ... he can continue his villainy from the outside.
Shyam might have old dushmani with the Raizadas/Maliks ... his first encounter with Khushi might have been a set up. Did he then get side-tracked when he fell in love/lust with Khushi?
Alternately, he never had any dushmani with them, he was on to a good thing, a rich wife with a doting brother who gave him an allowance, plus full access to his wife's money, AND the knowledge that Anjali was Arnav's sole heir. Arnav was never expected to get married, and even if he did, Anjali would have stayed number one in his life. And the bulk of Arnav's money would go to her. Shyam had it made.
But he fell genuinely in love/lust with Khushi, and wanted both, the money and the girl. As long as Arnav knew nothing about his lust for Khushi and his unfaithfulness towards Anjali, he even tried to kill Anjali - he would get her share of the money and property ... but once Arnav knew that he was unfaithful, killing Anjali made no sense, Arnav would never give him any money. Hence holding on to Anjali is most important.
Dia, question question, why wud he setup his first encounter with khushi ? cause of the sheesh mahal night...??

Since he did not share it with his wife, it was someone close to their family?- dad's family or mom's family.
Shyam did not recognise papa Malik. That is more important than him (?) feigning innocence at Anjali's story...Why was Dad's photo faded?...to show that image has been tarnished- he was misunderstood?
Even his glee at discovering Garima connection could be because he knows it is a MU, knows the 'truth' and is glad he has an unexpected weapon. (Is Shyam aware of the blessing that awaits him in the parallel track, I had asked once before.)
Cannot yet completely rule out that he may have connection to the past.

Why did Garima keep the pic? Could be because she loved the guy or because she worships and respects him for what he did- I think it is the latter. Garima has told the entire truth to Bauji. She really wouldn't keep an ex- lover's picture after that.
Anyway, dad is guilty until someone proves his innocence (if he is innocent!).

In the light of the photo evidence given today and various references to the Radha Krishna in the show (the Radha-Krishna picture in the rooms of RM and the explanation of their love story given to Nand Kishore), I think that Garima had an almost divine love for Arnav's father.
ReplyDeleteIt could have been an adulation that goes beyond physical love. It also appears that there must have been a wide age difference between Arnav's dad and Garima. Maybe she was a bubbly student who may have met Arnav's dad in some college functions where he was a chief guest and ever since then had this crush bordering on devotion on him.
I don't think she had any idea what her devotion to and idolisation of this man could do to his family life as she would have considered it to be a harmless relationship. Arnav's dad also may not have seen anything wrong in their relationship and may have been just impressed with the young girl's intellect.
The wicked chacha may have come to know of this unusual relationship and misused it for his own purpose by filling Arnav's mom's ears with lies which the poor woman, who must have had as low a self esteem as Anj, believed.
When Dadi accused her of breaking a married man's family, Garima did not protest because although her devotion to Arnav's dad was pure, she did end up ruining the Malliks.

DeleteAs per earlier website reports,Garima had to face some social stigma on some issue, making her very conscious of it and valuing propriety over everything in life....her behaviour after Payal's broken engagement, Payash engagement, Khushi's marriage all bear testimony to that...
so working backwards, its possible this scandal almost must have hit her as well...so she may have been forced to (somehow this perhaps has link to Garima meeting Papa M relating to K's parents accidents as Dia ans some others have pointed out.....) so that fits in...
Their paths may have crossed again becos of accident and then after the tragedy, she may have scooted and when things died down, taken refuge in the shashi relationship....

Deletearnav and khushi are married. they have been married for six months. it is only to appease the rituals that they are doing it all over again, because the little kids went and came back with jaimalas and called it a wedding the first time (remember, they did put up an act of HMC the first few days after marriage) so, hanky panky is allowed! which is why the family has no problems with PDAs either. public hugs, kisses, private "busy" times... all are allowed because they all accept that these kids are already married. only stopwa does not approve.. and only snakewa knows the truth of their original marriage.

su, arnav is tolerating his presence in the house.. that does not mean he has to respond to every false-damaad act that the snake puts up.. now that anjali is not at the dining table, shyam does not have to offer arnav the dal, achar, salad(symbolism, anyone?) just to look good in front of dadi.. even shyam knows that dadi does not have much say in ASR's world.

ODB told ODG, his father, having an affair, drove his momma to suicide. so he hates his dad.. and having an affair around his mom-like di puts shyam in the same category as his dad. shyam's fateful words on that night six months ago.. reminded him so much of his dad that he has started hating him from that moment onwards. yet, ODB tolerated him.. just punished his equally guilty wife.
later, much later, he came to know that she had nothing to do with the deceit..that she was truly innocent of every crime he had silently judged her to be guilty of. to know that VLR engineered the whole misunderstanding, and later the kidnapping and murder plan, and left khushi to die in the middle of the road.. (okay, there are vile acts untold, but this is as much as arnav knows) and act civil to him is something ASR does not do.. it was not only towards khushi, but also towards arnav..
in fact, shyam's words forced arnav to do hateful things to khushi, which i am sure he feels immensely guilty about.. so now if shyam wants to act the injured party, and after all that happened, dared to say it was all a misunderstanding.. arnav wants no part of it.. can you really blame him? should he act like he has accepted the snake ?of course khushi is a big part of arnav's hate towards shyam.

Don't know ... but the news on IF is the LM is more strict than Ak especially with Barun ... AK let Barun get away with being Barun, LM makes him stick to Arnav/ASR. So that part is all good :)
DeleteBut there has definitely been a change in the last week ... I put some thoughts into the edit today ... there is more attention to detail and the family's reactions for sure. And the rushed feeling is much less ... they are giving time to the scenes, be they Arshi or DaDiDa ... the Creepali scene was in excruciating detail, but it got across quite a few telling points ... that Shyam had no idea of the past, all he knew was that Anjali's first wedding had got cancelled and her parents died in a haadsa. Which is what any damaad would be told when he enters an alliance.
So today he got all the details which he DID NOT have till now. I think this puts paid to the idea that Shyam is linked with the joint past of Arhi ... though whether he has his own agenda for marrying Anjali, or he was just an opportunist out for an easy life, and got greedy ... that part remains to be seen.

Did you watch the expression as dadi tells the story- there is a grin on his face as she talks about the
1. 'suicide' (overworking my imagination- yes, that guy deserved to die and this family deserved this tragedy)
2. 'the other woman' and dadi's hatred for her- he listens carefully and (maybe I am imagining it) there is a slight fierce look on his face which is replaced by surprise, on hearing Garima's name as the other woman.
OFC, it could all be just a part of the face twitching, but I had given up on dood's theory of Shyam coming to take revenge for his sister, yet after I saw that expression, I feel there may be some connection.
The big Kosten is:

Whether Shyam knew his FIL or not, the picture anyway is soon to be explained by Dadi and she did it too.
So, there was no need to fade dad's pic- served no purpose.
Why did the CVs do it?
Shyam knows something about the past, knows his FIL. Feigned ignorance in front of Anjali- he is supposed to be hearing all this for the first time.
In that pic, AD was faded, though the viewers could recognise dad, Shyam was not expecting AD- Garima link and therefore could not connect the pic- now he knows any way.
Clashes with one thing, though- if Shyam was involved in the BFTP, he should've known Garima was accused back then also, unless all the confrontations happened in private and Shyam was not aware of Garima story.
**What was Shyam doing back there in Lucknow, when ASR and Anjali got the Sheesh Mahal back?**
Why wasn't he there with his wife playing the doting husband?
Instead, we saw him saving an innocent girl from some goons.
What if Shyam himself has been brainwashed into believing something. DOES NOT give him the right to lust after ODG...or go around murdering people...I still feel there are some missing links in Shyam- we don't know A THING about his past.
And the biggest thing is, he does not fit into any one category: A simple 'murderer and rapist' would not have saved Khushi from the goons, would not go to the extent of believing in 'love' , the way he professed his love in the most 'eloquent' manner- after all that he did to her father and her...this guy is brilliant (at times), emotional(when it comes to K), lies through his teeth, ruthless... I know he is evil personified...misguided brilliance-reminds me of serial killers.

Since the ME was actually dedicated to the villain, I guess he is worth a thought.
And also, ASR has too many conflicts to take care of now- a blind di, a dumb dadi, an evil BIL he just cannot seem to get rid off, a BFTP...makes sense if they are all part of the same package and the connections will be revealed bit by bit.

So, if they show Khushi as a bystander(tenuous link) in this past, then Shyam is an afterthot...if she is linked well enuf, i will conclude that they have been true to deed and spirit of story irrespective of whether Shyam was an afterthot or not....
My only argument against the Doods theory has been the point of making Khushi a mere spectator, the link so tenuous which makes her no diff from HP in that case

I was reading the Crooner today, i loved what Priya had to say.
Crooner mentioned a very beautiful thing and altho its at a slight variance with the way i think, i still found resonance in that thot...Priya wrote that she remains exited for the love story as she was from epi one becos this is a sizzling story and the other plots are something that she does not particularly care for as ARHI are able to hold the narrative together still...(something very similar to what J has always said). While she remained flippant about it, her points have actually narrowed down the very deficiencies in the way IPK is being handled now....pretty much what we have been saying at R&R and SG too
I maintain ARHI can hold viewer interest for the time they are on screen. and BS-SI have made every one of their frames count...be it for 18 mins or 8 mins or even lesser.....
Till slapgate, the other frames/sub plots did not matter much or they flowed along becos until then the love story was a private one and other plots were catalysts but after that day it was not a private love story, their love was out in the open....it was time for other characters to awaken and react accordingly....This was the time, it failed and made the story drift into two separate halves...one half was the eternal ARHI magic and another one being nonsense drama,where the actions of other players are looking to undermine the story....

DeleteDood's theory: None of us get everything right. WE all pick some ideas from here and there...I don't know how she can analyse the future like she has the script at hand- and it is not a pleasant future too, giving Shyam way too footage- I firmly believe nothing will overshadow the love story- it is not Arnav's story, it is Arnav and Khushi's love story- that is what it will remain, like we saw in the ME.
The story seems to be moving on one side, but in a subtle way the love story is progressing too- the two tracks seem to be parallel and we might think it is to satisfy two types of viewers. I feel differently. Arhi is the only deal and the love story is the only story. The other characters are there to just create situations to guide them through this love story. So, there is no question of K being sidelined, for me.
Wow! Went thru J's links and what fantastic moments they've given us in this remarriage segment- all thanks to DD!
So, for me, that is her role in the story- to create these beautiful Arhi moments that are simply CLASSIC!

This is exactly what I was referring to, because I feel differently.
I think if you look at the other characters and look forward to them supporting Arhi so they can come together, we will be disappointed always.
It is not that you have to murder other characters for ARHI- infact, I was pleasantly surprised to see the Raizadas maintain a distance with Shyam- If the script lacked imagination, he would've been accepted, just like Anjali's miscarriage was forgotten. So, the script is not ALWAYS loose.
But I am with you, that they faltered at two points in the narrative:
kidnap and miscarriage.
The former, because it was an Achille's heel (Barun's absence had to be handled) and the latter probably because they really were in a hurry to get on with the story now that Shyam was back, meaning- lets take the love story forward.
Garima- Shyam- Garima does not know about the kidnap and Shyam's murderous instincts, so it is easier for her to forgive him. She does not even know that he was exposed, until recently. The RMwaasis have seen the pain Anjali went thru because of his roving eye (which only Anjali remains blind to) and therefore they cannot forgive him.
Su, i don't mean supporting ARHI....and i don't mean any specific character, i meant the narrative on the whole......

I don't buy the creativity of the team in how they handled the gruesome miscarriage track or its aftermath
Last but not the least, i don't buy the creativity of the team in how the Anji character graph has developed after slapgate....
U may well ask what exactly keeps me rooted and bakbaking as usual..its my ARHI prem...i still belive in the tale..wholeheartedly....Absolutely HAA....and i am miffed that goalposts in that story are being shifted around..

DeleteGiven how vile and despicable, not to mention criminal, Creepwa has been, it makes more sense for him to have an agenda of his own for his hatred for the Raizada/Malik khandaan. Though mind you, the way Anjali has been shown, I wouldn't blame him for turning murderous in these past three years ... that woman would drive a saint to murder! :D
From the ME, it seems that his link with Arnav/Anjali, if there is one, is separate from the link of Khushi with Arnav/Anjali.
He was definitely surprised at hearing Garima's name as the other woman.
Two possible reasons for this - one, knowing Garima, having stayed in her house, he knows Garima is not the type of woman to have had an extra-marital affair, hence the surprise.
Two - he knows about the extra-marital affair and ALSO the person involved - the Shyam's sister theory - hence he was surprised at Garima being suspected as the OW.
For me, the fact that he had to weasel the truth out of his two puppets in stages, first Da, then Di then back to Da ... makes me feel that he genuinely had no clue about the past and AD's affair. So does he have a separate agenda then, and he's quite happy to hear about AD's tragic end, because he felt the man deserved it? Or is he just an opportunist who married a rich woman for her money, and then got side-tracked by a beautiful woman, and genuinely doesn't know about their past, and never bothered to find out because he didn't care?
What we have seen in the story ...
Shyam's entry - he saved Khushi from the goons in Lucknow.
Arnav/Anjali were also in Lucknow at the same time, but Anjali didn't know her husband was there as well. Was he already cheating on her? Or was he there on work?
Khushi's segment had aired on tv by then, she was notorious already as the woman who spoiled ASR's fashion show. So Shyam, if he had seen the segments, might have been using this to set up a meeting with the girl who had spoiled ASR's show. But why? To use her as a pawn in his revenge plan?
Or was that a genuine rescue attempt and he fell for her at first sight?
Next meeting of Shyam-Khushi - in Delhi. He definitely followed her from Lucknow to Delhi. He made it a point to bump into her 'accidentally', got into the good books of Buaji, and got himself a place as PG by lying that he was a bachelor and without family in Delhi.
So his deception of the Guptas had started from day one. But for what? Only because he fell for Khushi? Or because he wanted to use her as a pawn?
He got Khushi a job at AR ... but NOT in the head office, only in the warehouse. He was actually annoyed that she landed up in the main office.
So his agenda at that point was NOT that she meet Arnav. It seems therefore that she was not his pawn at that time.
He tried his best to persuade her to leave her job. When she got into the contract mess, he urged her to leave, said he would arrange the money for her.
Again seems that he did NOT want to risk her meeting Arnav/Anjali. This could be simply because he was posing as a bachelor, but again points to the fact that he was not using her as a pawn at that time.

DeleteFrom these reflections, I feel that Shyam might or might not have an agenda against Arnav, but I don't think it was connected with Khushi or any knowledge of her past link with Arnav.
Arnav-Khushi is the main love story, there is no doubt about that.
Shyam is chief villain, there is no doubt about that either.
Again going back to the original articles from when the show started, they mentioned that Shyam falls in love with Khushi but hates Arnav because Khushi is in love with Arnav. NO OTHER LINK was stated.
While Khushi's past was linked with Arnav in the fifth promo, and Garima having a mysterious past and therefore being extra conscious and spprehensive of what society says was also in the original articles and character sketches.
So IS Shyam's entire agenda only revenge against Arhi because he loved Khushi, or rather, was obsessed by her, and now feels betrayed by her, and therefore wants to destroy both her and Arnav? Or does he have some other reason?
I can't say ... but two more thoughts
1)this PH doesn't think of very complicated plots
2)their strength has always been the love story angle, not mystery and suspense

DeleteAgree with you on the many botch ups by the creative team.
The numerous Dadi-Garima face offs have been very shoddily handled, to say the least. Initially they created tension, now they reached the point of - okay, how will she escape this time?
Shyam entering RM casually at will, and now breaking into GH equally casually ... equally shoddy. Instead of giving us looong drawn out DaDiDa scenes, Shyam having some narrow escapes in entering and exiting RM/GH would have been better ... don't show the villain as having such a smooth ride and the positive characters such a roller coaster one! Makes the negativity score over the positivity ALL the time - makes a gloomy picture - makes your audience tune into other channels!
I personally liked the family reactions, the disapproval of Shyam entering ... why couldn't we get some family conversations ... Mami-Akash discussed that Arnav might be wrong, but how come they are not happy that Shyam has entered ... TELL US WHY!!! Give us a conversation with Mami saying this was necessary for Anjali's recovery, but she can never trust Shyam again ... let Akash agree with her, let Payal say that Khushi should have consulted someone, let Mami say that no one except Khushi can dare to go against Arnav ... and that is why Mami is convinced Khushi does her best for the family ... Mami's reactions to Khushi and the wedding have changed overnight after Shyam's re-entry ... tell us why!!! Give us their scenes - they are good actors, and we'd rather have them rather than an overdose of DaDiDa all the time!!!
Show us Nani disapproving of Khushi taking matters into her own hand, show Khushi apologising to Nani as well as to Arnav, show Nani forgiving her because she also knows Anjali was throwing tantrums, not in so many words, of course!
Anjali's character has been butchered completely, especially after the miscarriage ... we did see today how beautifully Shyam plays her and Dadi but does she never think about her baby? Again very badly handled. Did DB have reservations about going grey?
And finally ... it is a DAMN GOOD THING the TRP's dropped last week ... we had predominantly Creepali scenes, and the TRP junta has voted along with the online one ... seeing a villain's love story with a selfish blind woman does NOT get you TRP's.
You have to show positivity along with negativity ... and it was NECESSARY to SHOW Arshi's love becoming stronger and stronger till they are almost inseparable, ALONGSIDE Creepali. Because when the BFTP hits, Arshi's love will be the one being tested ... not Creepali's.
The storyline was okay, but the execution sucked big time!

the only problem is the writers themselves should remember al this when they make their track..
becos their audience remember every damn link, dialogue of this serial., even if i forget something, there is someone here to remind or if u have forgotten something, i am here to remind u...thats how it goes here....we have all ARHI scenes committed to memory...even HP and laxmi have not been spared our keen glance.....

Awwww... it was not Anjali or mami or nani or dadi....the haldi on his face was smeared on when he rubbed cheeks with her- so K is the culprit!!!
2. Dadi's belief that Arnav was wrong in the past and is now too.
Actually dadi was wrong in the past and now too, like ASR told her.
She still believes her son strayed, blames the other woman, when there may have been no other woman in the past, just like there is no other woman now.
Hmphhh...Wisdom of old age, my foot!
