You're wrong when it's right,
It's black and it's white
We fight, we break up,
We kiss, we make up ...
Except that they didn't actually break up at all, it was just a marital spat between two very strong-headed individuals, both convinced they were right, and both over the course of the night realising that the other had a point as well ... so would the gharvalas quit making mountains out of molehills?! :)) We can manage to make up perfectly well on our own, thank you ... with a little help from friendly neighbourhood Cupids ... :)
Yes, Khushi was wrong to bring in Shyam when she knew Arnav hated the sight of the man ... also because she knew how vile the guy was, and how dangerous ... but she did it for Di ... and also because he was skulking around the place anyway, it was better to get him out in the open ... would be happy if Khushi mentioned the other reasons as well ...
Sanka Devi back with her sanak, her monologues with Devi Maiyya and her jalebis ... Arnav back with his ego :">
Best part of the episode was that Arnav was completely unmoved by Di's sugary words as to why he should forgive Khushi because she did it all for Di's precious self ...
He still hates Shyam and doesn't want him around ... Anjali sees the clenched fist and mistakes it for anger with Khushi ... lord, how delusional the woman is!!! Arnjali's speech was so self-centred ... did Arnav see that? She is happy, she is well again, so Arnav should be happy ... Khushi did this all for her, so that makes it all okay, Arnav shouldn't be angry with Khushi ...
Does Anjali even realise that Arnav doesn't really need her permission or her advice to forgive Khushi ... he already got started on making up with Khushi long ago ... barely within a couple of hours of their fight.
Although Nani's advice seemed to make some impact ... bringing Shyam back was inevitable given Anjali's condition (and her blackmail), so Khushi did what needed to be done ... besides she was the only one who had the courage to overturn Arnav's decision ... and Nani gave Khushi the right to do it ... she is the 'bahu' of the house after all ...
BUT Arnav had already got over the fight ... he didn't anyone persuading him to forgive Khushi, he and Khushi could handle it between themselves, thank you very much :))
Mami's reverse psychology and 'rich ones' worked like a dream ... alarmed him enough to rush out to stop all mistaken assumptions that the wedding was off ... of course it wasn't off!!! Much to Dadi's displeasure and Nani's satisfaction ... was there a Gloatwa ve in Nani's face when she looked at Dadi? And I do wish they had given us a few milliseconds more of Shyam's frustrated expressions there ...
NK was great as the harassed Cupid struggling with shudh Hindi ... damn cute!!! Mami and NK were hilarious and seemed to be enjoying themselves thoroughly ...
Aman - he who must not be seen- was finally heard! Another Cupid ... he made up for breaking the Diwali moment
Dadi didn't want to force Arnav for the wedding if he was unwilling ... mahaan aurat ... but was stumped to find he was actually very willing! :))
Anjali (and her BD) got minimal screen time, Shyam got almost none :)
Khushi and Arnav showed their age-old clash of pride and ego ... tempered and mellowed by their love :"> Loved the clash in the living room, and NK acting the harassed go-between ... loved the silent clash of wills through their eyes only ... both these actors are so good at expressing with their eyes ... Loved the way Arnav used his 'shatir dimaag' finally to get Khushi alone in their room ... knowing that Khushi can't stay away from him if she thinks he has a problem! This time Khushi got to a chance to shout and Arnav did the backing up against the wall She said 'sorry' for hanging up the phone, he said 'sorry' for hurting her. But will they actually talk about what the implications of that decision of bringing Shyam back might be?
Arnav took the time to shut the door ... smart boy, he's learning! =)) And he got a kiss for his cleverness. Now just get a lock put on that door before the wedding night, dear fellow and you're home and dry!!!
Oh wait, we have another bomb blast waiting ... Garima and the BFTP ... :-o
What I liked ... the use of the rest of the cast, esp Mami and NK ... wish they had thrown in a conversation between Payash or Payal-Khushi, or Mami-Akash - the two who had expressed reservations about Arnav's keeping Shyam away so firmly - what was their actual reaction about him being brought back? Show the mixed reactions of the family - relieved that Anjali is better, yet doubtful about having Shyam back ...
Such scenes are not fillers ... they flesh out the episode and make it more real ... Mami did express it in the way she was keen for the wedding to resume ... she obviously felt both Khushi and Arnav had a point ... but we need some of these things spelled out better. They used to give these scenes earlier, now they skip them completely, and that adds to the general feeling of rush and incompleteness of the script.
Arhi cannot be on screen the entire episode, but make use of the rest of the cast ... we don't want to see a love story between a vile Creepwa and a selfish delusional woman the rest of the time! Give me Mami-NK any day! Engenders much more positivity than watching a criminal get away with all his wiles time and again.

gloatwa ve...
ReplyDeletenice, lighthearted episode.. after a looong time, very welcome.
Jaya,
DeleteHow is the episode ? can I let myself hope for some good arhi moments..
i loved it. khushi explaings to devi maiyya/IF exactly why she is mad .. di tries her brand of manaofying, nani tries hers.. then NK and mami come in for a hilarious scene.
Delete***
later, khushi comes to RM with buaji for some rasm, arnav is subjected to a prank.
***
he calls her, she does not go, he tries sending NK, fails terribly, then does his own ramanchi and tricks her into the room. ..says sorry!
arhilicious, by my standards!
jaya
Deletei couldn't resist myself from watching today .. just finshed watching it .. yep a arhilicious episode ....
Arhilicious all right ... a feel good episode after ages!
Deletehaaayyeeeee ese start kijiye nah episodes .... Smiling Khushi and irritated Arnav .... Jiyat raho baccho !!!
ReplyDeleteGosh Mamiji was such relief .... Now what does that say about a certain wannabe lead *evil grin*
aaaaahhhh a proper kiss after such a long time .... I like this new director already .... Who is it????
yeah Mami was good.... every 1 noticed why she is siding with phati saree today....
Deletebut yesterday she seemed miffed with Shyam, now she like Khushi cause Anji's health improved cause of her....lill disconnect there, isnt it ?
ok feels good to watch an episode after missing 2 in a row... hmm why do these ppl play games with us.. last 2 all shyamanji and today after the TRP is all Arhi episode??
DeleteAlthough I would say the light moments were relief with attitude Arnav and jhalli khushi back in form , hope they are there for sometime...
and Sama I am already loving this new director too, only hoping he would contd.
and yes NK mamiji were too good and relief that she did give reasons for her change of attitude towards phati saree ...
Arnav not bending to anji is a score point for me, and that phone call to khushi was before anji spoke to him...
So thank you CV's
And Oh Cv's thank you for giving a voice to the mystery AMAN at last ... can we see the face soon too??
Nahi Aaru take your pick .... Koi ek mil sakti hai .... Ya toh face ya toh voice .... Jese Payash ki sirf face milti hai :D
DeleteAaru, Sama, just checked the director is still Arshad Khan, atleast in the credits it is
Deleteand payal got another scene with khushi today.. will she be on for the entire month like this?
DeleteYE lo....
ReplyDeleteKisine sach hi kaha hain...miya biwi ke jhagde mein kabhi mat pado....woh ek dusre ko mana lenge aur hum buddhu...ladte rahenge....
Proved this theory well today...
Yes, i thot there will be some old fashioned ruthna manana....but ARHI toh ARHI hain....ruthna manana bhi alag rang mein.....
An ArHilicious episode with DDD completely in background actually Shyaam suddenly looked like a jado wala then IPK lord .... Bhuwahahahahahahaha
ReplyDelete"tum meri zindagi ki sabse badi deal ho" haaayyyyeeeeeeeeee
How often do we get an episode where every act is clearly stated?
Good good ... I only stopped preparations (initiated by KJ) not marriage. I like buaji-khushi reaction when Arnav said narial aur khushi ka sar .... LOL
Anjali you lost all ground ... IF not for Khushi nobody would have even bothered. Khushi ki khushi judi hai sare rasmo se. Sab yeh khushiyan ArHi ke liye mana rahe hain .... Wah wah wah !!
BG kahan hain ... Itne muddato ke baad haircut .... Man it was good not just any good but Joey wala GOOOOOOOOOD !!!
Uffffoo grinning like an idiot!
Epi dekh kar esa laga it was shot today morning & yesterday after TRP. They do get to know TRP beforehand. Just mujhe laga.
Ok back to grining like an IDIOT!!!!!
and the promo was shown directly following the episode.. perfect!
ReplyDeletepromo link

the happy episode means the dhamaka is not far behind. atleast they have moved it to ME.. really hope we get a week of arhi..
ReplyDeletearnav was surprised to hear that khushi had come to Rm again.. and why? to refresh her mehendi.. so was it a week since the original mehendi in IPK narnia too?
Originally I heard rumours that ME was supposed to be for Shyam's re-entry into RM ... judging by the response to the Di track, the cv's probable speeded up the process - if they had devoted this entire week to Di drama and then ME to re-entry of the Snakewa, there would have been no viewers left!
DeleteShooting ... I think the spoilers with mehndi scenes came in E24 on Monday? So they did shoot part of it two days ago, but I think the last bit they shot yesterday/today ... it came in SBS this afternoon.
BS haircut ... that was the shortest haircut since Diwali ... and he got a shave too ... ready for the kiss?! :)))
'was it a week since the original mehendi in IPK narnia too?':
DeleteAnd therefore Anjali mourned her baby's loss in that week and the viewers were spared that drama?
Dia,
DeleteMy thought on this:
Shyam's re-entry- there really was not much dhamaaka to it. I feel it was a done deal...and Shyam- Anji got enough footage with the mishap.
I felt this then too, with the miscarriage Anjali's role in the drama is over..all that was left was for the mourning and getting creepwa back...not a big deal. Now it is time for Dadi to come forward...and Shyam to still be an enigma in the BFTP?...
This is the real deal, Anjali is not important any more, her only role was to get creepwa back for his small role in accelerating the BFTP...meaning his actual role may still be hidden for now. (OFC, the story does not need Shyam to make dadi and Garima met- umpteen ways to do that...but it makes us wonder... suspensewa 4 lions)
fun post

The kiss wasn't this episode!! Right? I didn't see any kiss? Was it in precap?
ReplyDeleteyes, it was in the precap... from five angles, no less!
Deletewhat happened? where is everyone? now after a week-long detox, did everybody stop watching?
ReplyDelete20 comments, an all time low!! and 8 of those are mine!!
a tellydost interview of sanaya and barun
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyqpxgcJMLo
i was wondering on the scene where khushi sends him an sms and he hits reply..the reply never reached khushi.. but one enterprising fan made up a reply:

Rekha,
ReplyDeleteHuge fan and ac of Gulzar - and loved the lyric you posted - have not heard it before - but the last stanza was poignant - khudh hi sajaye jo sapne - the power of delusion, of filters, of escaping into fantasy and disconnect with reality :) Gulzar Sahab ke alfaz kuch yun resonate karte hai ki rooh ko hilake rakh dete hai :)
Coming to ipk - cute episode today - mami, nk rocked :)
But more interesting was my own feelings after the shift in paradigm.. Earlier I was emotionally vested in Khushi and felt like apne ghar mein shadi hai , har detail ka dhyan rakhna hai - today i felt ki padosiyon ke yahan shadi ho rahi hain - i was entertained but not really involveD - the detached observer- eureka :)
340 episodes without missing a single one since the first one aired in june last year and i am finally detoxed , free of the addiction :) now i can look at it as just entertainment requiring suspension of disbelief and analysis :)
Il really wonder how TRPs are calculated .Speaking for myself if the episode is good (meaning lots of emotional , even mushy ARHI scenes ),I watch the repeat as many times ,sometimes even five or six times during the day but if it has too much of Evilwa and snakini then only one watch.
ReplyDeleteWould like to know reactions of all you girls. Am I too addicted?or others too do the same.i have already watched yesterday epi thrice ..may watch the fourth again when it airs in next half hour.
Riya
Riya...i guess they have trp meters that are placed in some houses....and channel people dont know the locations.....and trp's are calculated for only first 3 mins...
Deletethis is all acquired info from IF :P
I just saw the trps.
DeleteSo that is the reason why our ratings are down.
Balika vadhu is at 5.1 and DABH at 5.3
Why don't they put these two shows on the same slot and see which one comes first....any takers, SP or colors? Then I'll root for BV.
Why? Why? Why?
Why do we have to compete with BV? They seldom make any mistakes and our CVs just seem to love to goof up when they can afford to.
Gloatwa ve...
ReplyDelete1. I wanted Khushi to remain angry and ASR to apologise..handled very lightheartedly, but ASR seemed a little too toned down in the last scene...I suppose this is what San's discomfort with the impending kiss and trying to make the scene lighhearted behind the scenes does...I am not criticising it- in fact I really appreciate it that these two help out each other annd understand each other so well.
2. ASR will not MU Khushi..even if he might take sometime to grasp her POV...I hope Gul sticks with this resolution.
3. Anjali's deceit: I always maintained that even if Anjali commits murder, ASR will still love her the same so long as it is not Khushi she murders- the unconditional love between the siblings...beautifully brought out.
4. The promos are out.
I 've felt that BFTP is a bigger deal than Anjali in the next track...Yesterday I mentioned Anjali's dialogue to dadi- "Aap aayiye, hum jaa rahe hain" Anjali welcoming the BFTP...and also going by the way they did not promote Anjali's mishap, instead promo-ed BFTP...I guess I could be right.
5. Shyam's involvement in the Raizada's past...Hmmm...the plot thickens. (Too soon to sing gloatwa ve here)
Also wanted to mention MM...loved her yesterday.
Best dialogue: OFC, tum meri zindagi ki sabse badi deal ho. Haayeee....
Su, your point 2 and 3 are right..
Deletehope Gul mata sticks to point 2....and she shud, i mean the guy who though hated khushi but still couldn't hate her totally, even when he assumed the worst from her....why will he hate her for something that her aunt did....unless of-course, he feels that khushi followed her aunt's steps and her love for him was a pretension all along......
As per your point 3, ASR did murder Khushi's dream for Anjali....and now Anjali asks for the same person who can be a threat to Khushi....who was lusting after Khushi...so if he crosses his limits again(which we know he will) that time ASR comes to know what all Anji did to get him in....other then that i agree with your point, he seems ok with everything that Anjali does...
I dint understand point 4 though :(
Su, read ur reply to Dia, now i got point 4......heheheh.
DeleteGeetu, my point 3 is to show gloatwa ve that ASR will love his sister not because he is blind to her faults, but because he understands his sister perfectly- why she did what she did- he will never feel betrayed if she demands VLR back- he will simply accept it that he was not able to convince her.
DeleteIn other words, he will not say, "you went against my orders. Dear sister, you disappoint me, therefore I am seriously thinkimg about disowning you "
It is not 'blind worship', it is a loving and understanding brother- who is the one among the siblings showing more maturity right now.
'ASR did murder Khushi's dream for Anjali':
I did not get this. What was Khushi's dream that ASR murdered?
Khushi's dream was to get Anjali peace of mind, I thought- Is that not what she told DM when she left RM "Di khush nahi hain"- now she found Anjali's happiness and that has brought her happiness too.
VLR tied up Khushi and left her to die. I don't think he will try to murder her again.
And he made that big speech on the 'greatness of his love' before he did that. (Remember my mad man theory- perfectly explains Shyam- hahaha):
So I don't think he'll cross the limits again...In fact I think he is making sure their paths don't cross again...my prediction from the beginning- until I see the saat phere happening I'll not believe there will be a re-marriage now...waiting to see if Gulmata will make me eat my words....
"ASR comes to know what all Anji did to get him in.": The fact that she met him in secret- Will it make any difference now that she has made it clear that Shyam is the reason behind her smile and ASR is OK with this blind di.
Su,
DeleteRegarding point 1, don't go by BS/SI's repeated statements about being uncomfortable in romantic scenes ... my own feeling is that they repeat those statements all the time because both are in committed relationships and don't want any repurcussions ... otherwise many TV jodis are linked up regardless of their personal lives. Drashti is a very close friend of Sanaya's and she was victim to this, despite GC being married, their fans wanted to see them together and GC's wife used to get hate mails etc - the fans were pretty crazy. Am very sure it's to pre-empt such nonsense that BS/SI keep repeating they're bad in romantic scenes .. if you see their off-screen chemistry on SBS/SBB etc, they're completely comfortable with each other.
2. Arnav will not MU Khushi ... I too hope Gul sticks to this one ... otherwise the entire trust-building exercise would have been for nothing.
3. Anjali's deceit ... so far Arnav does not know Di has been deceiving him deliberately. I agree he will forgive her, he will definitely not be angry ... but there should be a feeling of hurt, of betrayal at least ... Di accused him of lying to meet Khushi, surely he should feel upset that she did exactly the same thing she accused him of doing. Which is why so far Khushi has not told him about Shyam sneaking in to meet Di, it gives away both Shyam and Di.
On re-watch, I did wonder at Arnav's expressions when Anjali told him to not be angry with Khushi because she called Shyam back only for her ... did Di's plea make any impact? He HAD already got over his anger with Khushi and tried calling her, and this plea by Di was far more self-centred than any of the earlier ones.
But your words "unconditional love between the siblings" ... unconditional?? For Anjali? I don't think so. Her love for Chotey has been shown up very clearly in the last few weeks ... it is selfish and self-seeking ...
Arnav's love for his Di is unconditional and blind - a bit too blind ... which is why I said a couple of days ago that it is the love of an immature boy, the boy he was at 14. He has to grow out of that love and worship that DI can do no wrong ... When you love someone, be it sibling or child, maturity gives you the ability to love them DESPITE their fautls, not to be blind to their faults. Arnav's love for Khushi is mature in that sense ... his love for Anjali is not. He has to realise her weaknesses and tackle them ... The sibling love is as flawed as the two siblings themselves. A parent loves a child unconditionally, that doesn't mean a parent overlooks all the faults in a child, the reverse, the parent is stricter on the child and tries to correct its faults - OUT OF LOVE.
4. Anjali will always play a role in the Arhi story ... her reaction to Garima being the other woman will influence Arnav's reaction to Khushi and Garima ... I think Shyam does not have a role in the past except to be trouble-maker in introducing it in his ever-present hope of disrupting Arhi.
I doubt Arhi wedding will take place ... if it was going to, it would be very grand and there would be promos for it ... I remember Geet's wedding, the entire montage of the show was changed for the marriage and there were promos galore. I was watching another show on the same channel, and you couldn't miss them. Unless the PH actually goes by story here ... for me, the story dictates that Arhi get married quietly in DM's temple again.
VLR ... agree he will be very careful not to overplay his hand because he knows Arnav is watching him and doesn't trust him ... he will not overstep his boundaries with Khushi - not for the moment, for the same reason.
DeleteArnav being okay with blind Di ... that to my mind is Arnav's biggest flaw ... the biggest hole in his characterization, and we have ranted about it enough on R&R, at least, I have! He refuses to tell Di the worst ... what he saw on the terrace, and what Shyam told him ... he did tell her that same night, Di conveniently fainted, and after that, Arnav has never tried to tell her the truth again. He told Nani, and from the fb's while he told Nani, he did tell her what Shyam said about Khushi being his junoon and Anjali being the only obstacle.
WHAT is stopping him telling Anjali this?!!! Especially now that the baby is also gone, there is no link left to Shyam ... it would be better to tell Anjali and let her make a clean break with the man. WHY IS HE KEEPING QUIET ON THIS ONE? When Anjali came to his room today and said she's happy because Shyam is back, why did he stay quiet? Does he realise he has left it too late to tell her, because Shyam has already ensnared Anjali in his web of lies?
So Arnav is contributing to keeping Di blind ... and now that the baby is also gone, and Di has miraculously recovered overnight, I do not understand his reasoning. The only reason I can think is that now that Shyam is already in, he's also waiting for the wedding to get done ... then he and Khushi will be together to handle Di's tantrums.
"When you love someone, be it sibling or child, maturity gives you the ability to love them DESPITE their fautls, not to be blind to their faults.":
DeleteDia, I said the same thing to Geetu.
"It is not 'blind worship', it is a loving and understanding brother- who is the one among the siblings showing more maturity right now."
Dia, why did Anjali thank Khushi for getting ASR to wear the kurta as the best rakhi present for her?
I am pretty sure it was not an act - she could've just ignored the fact, right.
But she did make it a pont to bring it up and thank Khushi for that.
To me, it looked like Anjali had accepted Khhushi as the first priority in Chhote's life, very gracefully.
Yet when Khushi brought up the past, she told her to not bring it up- she was not ready to accept K's version o the story when it came to Shyam- still wanted to hang on to the MU....because she trusted her own judgement on that matter...Khushiji must've made a mistake...I don't want to get further confused by her MU...I'd rather listen to Shyamji who on the other hand has no hard feelings..does not point fingers at any one...just understands quietly..
The betrayal is out in the open now.
She chose Shyam and welcomed him with open arms.
And ASR still shows no signs of any rift. He still loves her the same.
All those clandestine meetings..the end is out..Do the means matter to him at all?
Anyway, the point I wanted to highlight was the conversation between the SILs- post RB- this is where I felt the two women in ASR's life was portrayed so well.
Dia,"When Anjali came to his room today and said she's happy because Shyam is back, why did he stay quiet?"
DeleteHe is waiting for her to settle for some more time, given the loss of a child, which she happily seems to have forgotten when Shyamji is around...tolerate a bitter medicine for some more time..till she is better..and then give her the bitter news...only, whatt can happen in the meantime that can once again force him to take his eyes away from Shyam?
The problem is, Su, the more he stays quiet, the more difficult he makes his task eventually. It's taking the easy way out ... at the least he could have said, 'yes Shyam is back for a short while, till you are better, because you need him now with you. And that is why I have allowed him to stay.' He is also copping out on this. That's why I say, his love for Di is blind worship, not mature ...
DeleteWhy did Anjali thank Khushi for getting Arnav to wear the kurta?
My feeling is, this was pure manipulation by Shyam ... it had started full swing by then. I said earlier, Shyam stands to gain nothing by a sibling rift - he wants an Arhi rift. By Anjali antagonising Khushi, and Arnav being so firmly on Khushi's side, a sibling rift would have happened sooner or later. So the first brainwashing of Anjali started then - to get her to change her attitude towards Khushi and accept her as Arnav's wife, thus softening Arnav towards Anjali, and bringing back the Anjali-Khushi closeness - remember Anjali-Khushi were always very close too.
Don't see Anjali as herself, a loving sister - see her as Shyam's tool, and you will see a very different picture. He has been manipulating her from that first phone call - which came just after that rose petal hug, if I remember right. After that, her attitude to Arnav and Khushi changed overnight. Before that, when Khushi was leaving for her maika, Anjali basically told her to leave and not return ... 'jaane se pehle nashta karke jaana'. You are taking Anjali at face value, and seeing what Arnav sees, a loving doting sister who is blind to Shyam's faults so needs to be shielded from them, but loves Arnav and Khushi selflessly ... she is not that. She is Shyam's puppet, and it is in Shyam's interest to keep Arnav-Anjali intact, show Anjali as completely accepting of Khushi, while slowly trying to engineer an Arhi rift. And he is helped in this b both women, because one is blind to his faults, and the other is an emotional fool, and her weakness is both Arnav and Anjali.
What did Shyam say to Arnav - please don't blame Khushi for bringing me back? She did it for Anjali ...
Next morning, Anjali comes and says exactly the same thing to Arnav - please don't MU Khushi, she brought him back for me. And I'm so much better now that he is back.
Su, I get ur point bt understanding her needs..and its not about going against his order.....but it is about lying to him n manipulating others to follow her demands....
Deletewhat he knows she has done till now, is just demand that he gets Shyam back...what he doesnt know is that she has lied to him to meet Shyam, probably given Shyam her credit card (which shyam used to keep a watch on RM), also manipulated everyone by giving up food.....tried to save shyam during the mehendi dance.....all these tactics are not of an innocent woman asking for love....atleast it doesnt come across like that to me....
the person that he trusted the most all these years, lied to him.....that will be betrayal of a sort, to him.....
ASR murdering Khushi's dream was when he forced her for the temple wedding.....he hated her after the marriage, made her sleep outside....all this he did as a punishment for Di, when the same Di is lying to him for the main culprit...this will be a shock for him....
m still kinda hoping for a redemption track :)
I dont think VLR has given up on Khushi....he very much will pursue her, not directly, but will definitely be lusting after her.......
also the main reason for him to come in RM before the marriage is, so that the marriage doesnt happen.....
Dia,
Deleteabs.....
Coming back to J's beautiful expression, Shyam's power of suggestion....hugs J...Its not the CVs sharpness that indicated it to me, its all the sharpness of girls in R&R that helps me analyse it...
When I read Gul's perspective, since she mentioned the damaged, fragile sister, i have been waiting for that conscious realisation for the players in the story...not all this "is she that or is she something else" that we as viewers have been conjecturing.....
If she is damaged (read delusional, requiring medical/prof help), i presume, someone other(read Arnav/R famiy) than viewers also have to realise it, right?....or her being damaged was something only we have to realise and not Arnav and family?....or is it going to be a case of one fine day Anji stumbling on the truth much like her demented walk across the carpet and after the permitted "shock" expressions turns in to this avenging angel and lo and behold goes on a tirade, in fact, lashing out at Arnav and Khushi for keeping this great truth from her? absolute *head desk* moment for me.
Su,
from your perspective, Anji will accept the truth when it is shown to her. To u, Anji demands Shyam, becos there is nothing yet wrong about him so far...meaning the fault lies with people for keeping it from her. so naturally u don't see Shyam's power of suggestion here...neither do u see the dilemma or conflict for Arnav
But the dilemma for Arnav is just about to begin when he will see how diffi it will be to dislodge this man from Anji's psyche.....
But, first a realisation of what Shyam is for Anji for Arnav....my shiddat to that!!I hope Gul intended this...., if not, well, i was a fool to read it like that......
Yes Dia, even i do not see a marriage for them...they will be married in their minds but the completion of the pheras will be a question...Arnav has a long way to go before he actually wins this biggest deal of his life...that will happen before DM only.....
DeleteRekha,
ReplyDeleteSome scattered thoughts after I read your reply to Jaya yesterday.
1. I did not defend Anjali because I had any great love for the character…yet I came out with such lengthy posts on her. Why?
I was appalled at the misinterpretation of Anjali. Clingy, yes…but suddenly she was a KMH in Arhi, manipulating her brother… and I could just not see that on the screen (very few of us who felt like that)
Anjali is not a perfect person and SHE is not even that important. I guess if it was not for all the discussions on Anjali I would not have even noticed Anjali.
**I would’ve interpreted her as a nice person with some inferiority complex who was out of the blue exposed to her husband’s infidelity, not provided with proof of the same, put in the dilemma of trust in her brother’s judgement Vs her own judgement of her husband…what follows is the inner turmoil of a derailed Anjali…you cannot predict her, you cannot justify her…you can’t even say she should’ve behaved like this; because two people don’t react to the same situation the same way.***
And Anjali like we all know is simple when she is normal, but when she is exposed to fire…she cracks up…why? Because she does not BELIEVE yet. We can always say, the MAJORITY thinks like this or would behave like this…and I will not argue on that point.
What I want to say here is…I defended Anjali because I felt we were all getting seriously misguided on the story. In other words…Anjali is not that important because I feel she will not create a conflict for ASR. If Anjali cannot do without Shyam..ASR respects her feelings and he will tolerate Shyam till Di gets better – COMES TO HER SENSES- which he knows she will…there is no conflict there.
And Khushi has no problem with Shyam coming back to RM – we know why- or we wonder why not- either way there is no conflict for ASR there.
What I am trying to say is…the conflict was there on that terrace scene – probably it has already happened…because BOTH these women are wonderfully adjusting to ASR’s needs. They both have his welfare in mind with every decision they take regarding the other. They both accept and respect the other woman’s position in his life. (Anjali may look like a snake now because she got Shyam back; in reality she is only a garden snake- she is ugly and repulsive to some, but she is harmless and actually is the gardener’s friend…ASR is the gardener and he knows how well meaning his sister is. Actually the same holds good for dadi also)
DeleteI hope you read my last reply to you on the conflict yesterday; I might have not got your point.
3. Your grouse with the CVs that they did not do justice to the characterization…yes, you and Dia are right… and even I agreed wholeheartedly on Friday.
DeleteCould it be that…the CVs did not intend for Anjali to be a conflict factor….
a) yes, they should’ve shown VLR smooth talking her…instead of those scenes where she was talking to plants and walls…here the CVs wanted to keep the Shyam re- entry a suspense..even as those scenes were playing there were interviews (I read one, I think in bolega India)where Abhaas was quoted as saying “I’ll come back in the show if I am called”- to create an illusion that his deal with the PH was over…
So, by keeping Shyam hidden in those scenes, the CVs scored a point when Shyam re-entered in grandeur..in that CCTV scene… I felt it was done very well, when you see the purpose it served.
And the CVs did show justice to Anjali after that when they showed Shyam in the fbs…(I almost wrote the CVs could’ve shown justice by showing the fbs and then I remembered, the fbs were there….WOW!)
b)So is it that our expectations on the role of Anjali was different from that of the CVs?
They had shown us Anjali when she was normal…had shown that she did not get proof..expected us to connect the dots on her actiions..instead IF went viral and entirely changed the original concept of Anjali…many a times I wondered if I was living in a fool’s paradise on Anjali, because that is how an idea can influence us …and when it is repeated over and over again…it sounds like it could be true! (This is just a generalized observation and I had elaborated the same point in my reply to you on the weekend post…why Anjali baffled people for different reasons- middle of the page)
I think what the CVs meant was: WE have shown you Anjali when she is calm…given you a reason for her disbelief, her confusion…given her past..and now coupled with a big loss…can you connect the dots on her behavior here? Quite simple, actually- that is how I would’ve connected it if I stuck to the story as it was shown. No, it was not crystal clear…not explained in detail…but that is only expected of IPK- they expect us to connect the dots.
c) Anjali after the miscarriage- now that was plain carelessness on the CV’s part…almost like we don’t have much use of this character any more…lets get it over with and move on to Arhi and BFTP.
I am not saying Anjali is finished. In the future we may or may not see her in the following tracks.
Delete1. KMH in Arhi : if Shyam gives her proof of Khushi’s duplicity.
2. Revelation of VLR to Anjali: where she stumbles on the truth and…either slaps him and throws him out or apologise to Arhi and leave him at ASR’s disposal.
3. Begging Khushi’s family to bury the past and let Arhi unite…..
I hope we will not get to see this: Anjali pining for the creep once she knows the truth…I can accept it if she does not turn Durga..breaks down completely also fine…but no more pining and whining ..I have a good feeling Gul would’ve redeemed Anjali by then.
I saw your reply to Sandy yesterday:
Did you miss out the most important reference point to Anjali’s character in relation to Arhi : The Anji- Khushi scene post RB: if you take it in isolation (which means leave all the different ways it could be interpreted), it shows you what Khushi means to Anjali and how she respects her as the all in all in Chhote’s life.
I feel this is a very important point when you want to read Anjali.
All in all: I am not defending Anjali.
I am not defending the CVs. Just wondering if Anjali is really all that important any more right now.
Just trying to show you a different perspective…which I saw only because of the thought process you started. *hugs*
Su,
DeleteI see Anjali very differently from you ... and if you read my earlier posts on this blog, way before all the Anjali drama started, you will see why I feel this way. Almost from the start I have noticed little character traits in Anjali, very beautifully and subtly brought out by the cv's almost from day One, about her manipulating ways, her habit of getting her own way without conflict, her need to avoid any unpleasantness. Ever since these became more glaring, you can go back and find the roots were already there from the start ... so I firmly believe these were deliberately put in by the cv's ... at the start, they had a very firm grip on all their characters.
Yes, Anjali always wanted Arnav to find true love ... selflessly she wanted that for him ... BUT she was always secure in the belief that true love or not, she, Anjali, will always be the most important person in his life. Lavanya needed Anjali's help to get through to Arnav, Khushi also needed Anjali's help and reassurance to get through to Arnav, so Anjali has all along continued secure in this belief, that even for his love life, she was required by both Arnav and the woman in his life.
She continued to be selfless when she realised Khushi could make Arnav do things even she couldn't ... she used that, making Khushi get Arnav down for Janamshtami puja last year, but she knew Khushi would use tricks ... not that Arnav would just come down on her say so. She enjoyed being their Cupid - setting up their rendezvous at the poolside during the bangles episodes ... she was involved, she was instrumental, she was in charge, and Chotey could not manage it without her.
NOW equations have changed ... and I think Anjali still does not realise how much. The cv's put in the scene of Arnav missing Khushi, trying to call her after such a big fight ... BEFORE Anjali stepped in with her 'please forgive Khushi for my sake' ... I would like to think it was done to show the shifting relationships ...
As someone, I think it was you, pointed out a few days ago, Arnav-Khushi are now Arhi for Arnav ... he does not even think of them as being separate ... and I think Anjali hasn't really realised this fully. She still wants to play major domo in their relationship, and that is her character - this need to be needed by everyone, to be the final authority. And it arises out of her deep insecurities which I analysed some time ago.
Dia....
DeleteIn fact, my greatest gripe after that the snake-dadi confrontation was that this imp track of playing on anji by Shyam was never focussed on, instead we got those silly sms and text messages and talking to curtains and pillars...This is pure hindsight from my end. esp after J's post
my sense is the Cvs could not build up the scenes well enuf to convey this Pied piper Shyam or could not come up with stories that can be convincing to viewers on why Anji was in his power....
my gripe scenes :
1) Anji's volte-face at " IloveKhushi" confession
2)Anji_khushi's RB scene (
3)Miscarriage scene for how it was shot with no alluding to a semblance of what drives a man to kill his own flesh and blood...apart from the stupidity of how it was handled. But i have to admit here the element of Shyam the pied piper actually worked both on symbolism and content)
4)Anji's act after the losing baby...becos there was no particular emphasis on why Anji has forgotten that she lost a baby when she is in Shyam's company.
Now, if u go back, if all these scenes (except scene 3) had a strong laying of Anji being actually manipulated by Shyam with his smooth talk, it would not have created the furor it did....everyone thot anji is only thinking anout Shyam...but it is actually not so, it is the delusion that this man brought about in her life.. we seem to be stuck at ARHI or Arnav-Anji relationship....but we had forgotten that while Arhi strengthened their bonds, Shyamli were creating a world of their own, paying on the emotions of a insecure fragile woman
Very true, Rekha, Anjali has been manipulated by Shyam since that first blank call, but the cv's have failed to show it effectively. Especially the last miscarriage track ... though on the other hand, you could say that's when it's very clear that it is all manipulation by Shyam, otherwise which mother forgets her lost baby so soon and is all happy that her husband is back? Only a very unnatural woman, who is not in her senses and has almost been hypnotized by her husband. Shyam was so keen to show Arnav and the RMvaasis that Anjali recovered as soon as he got back, that he miscalculated the effect that a lost child should have ... in reality that should be a wake up call for the family, because it's such a strange reaction! It got the entire audience disconnected, and THAT is precisely why the cvs NEED to show how much Shyam is brain washing Anjali!
DeleteWow, Dia...u are explanation is awesome....had the cv's used ur Idea, it wud've truly been a nyee soch, isnt it ?
Deletemaybe they'll consider it later, when Arnav and Khushi will have some proofs, but Anji will refuse to believe that as well...
or
best will be if ArHi seperates, and Anji going, ' why are you sad, chotte, don't be, look how happy I am, my Shyamji is back in my life ' :P
one interesting question..
ReplyDeletethe house belongs to arnav ...nani been there during there tough times...dadi came after 14 yrs...and the way she is flaunting around as if the RM MANSION belongs to her...nani been shown suppressed by dadi?
CVS/PH? where on earth that happens? someone comes to ur house and started controlling ur house and u become a mere spectator in ur own house?
Dadi is the paternal grandmother..ahem...
DeleteMore than that, nani is a sweet person and they are childhood friends..nani is used to Sumi's highhandedness from those days, yet she agreed to give her daughter to her son...the fact that that son's actions led to her daughter's death and dadi continues to support her son has not dampened the friendship...nothing will.
I really love the way nani stands out in the nani- dadi interactions...which is why I am still upset about the stupid comment to mami- when she saw Anji normal as soon as VLR came- Grrrrrr.... (I don't want to remember that dialogue)
My kosten:
Khushi mimicked Buaji...back in that episode when she did the act with everyone else she knew that ASR would find her out and conveniently avoided speaking to him...a little bit of that shatir dimag has been deleted to supplement ASR's brain.
yes, the story writers seem to forget their own story quite a lot.. maybe because they change tracks so frequently, a lot of footage would have been discarded when TRP-based track changes come in..
Deletewhat confuses me is how khushi gets the old phone at GH and the new phone at RM.. at least she can use sanaya's personal phone and totally eliminate that blooper, right? and arnav who recieved her sms on his iphone, deleted it on some other phone :D
so i'm trawling IF because i'm bored.. found a couple of interesting posts. they range from OS to review to spoof, so no guarantees..

today's sbb/sbs segments.
When his Di comes and tells him, Khushi did this for me because she knows You love me the most...
ReplyDeleteBitwa had his Menthos moment.
No he does not, Between Di and Khushi, it is Khushi whom he needs and loves more.
And then when Nani also comes and says Khushi did it for Anjali.
He gets what the problem is, Khushi thinks she comes second and always will.
Hence the dialogue, You are the most important or biggest deal of my life as if to convey, Stop putting yourself second, you come first for me and Sorry I could not get this across to you sooner.
This is of course my interpretation of that scene.
Shweths ... *hugs* I would love to think that is the correct interpretation ... but I don't think Arnav is yet at the stage where he can allow himself to put Khushi above Anjali ... Not consciously, that is. That boy of fourteen who made that promise to his Di still lives inside him. BUT something did change in him at Anjali's words ... was it a realization that no, he did NOT NEED Anjali or anyone else to tell him how to deal with Khushi, to forgive her? A kind of resentment, like ... leave me alone, leave US alone, we can sort it out ourselves, you don't have to worry about us, it's our business, no one else's.
DeleteDia, i would settle for the realization that the first priority is not Anjali anymore, that has changed and yes he would have thought BUTT OUTTT Di, we can manage thank you very much:)
DeleteAlso Nani's words ... Khushi was being a good bahu ...
DeleteThe thing is, which they glossed over in yesterday's episode, and what I would have liked to explore a bit more .... the reactions of the family. Nani was worried about Anjali. Mami and Akash had already expressed reservations about whether Arnav was doing the right thing or not, by keeping Shyam away when Anjali was pining for him. Now mami and Nani are pretty much convinced that Shyam did most of what he was accused of, Nani more than Mami of course, but even Mami overheard Shyam agreeing very eagerly to divorce, and she also knows Shyam's story had lots of holes. Yet they were worried about Anjali's health and had mixed feelings about Shyam coming back, Mami more than Nani. But in the house no one goes against Arnav's word ... Except for Khushi, no one dares. So when Khushi did dare to go against Arnav and bring back Shyam, it was a relief for the family ... A bitter pill they had to swallow, but it was needed and they were relieved Khushi took the decision, because no one else dared to. Besides, if anyone else had brought Shyam back, Arnav would have thrown Shyam out promptly ... Only because it was Khushi, and then Anjali spiked his guns promptly by thanking him, Arnav was forced to keep quiet. So that is my interpretation of Nani's words ... Kushiro behaved like the bahu of the house ..., she took the responsibility of taking a very tough decision, a decision on which there was no consensus ... she took the decision, and took the responsibility for making it, and facing the fallout from Arnav.
And that I believe is why Mami was all for continuing the wedding preparations today ... she was on both their sides, Arnav's and Khushi's ... She did respect Khushi for taking that very risky step, after all, the entire family knows that Khushi was the one who suffered the most because of VLR, yet she brought him back only for Anjali's sake. And the way Mami told Anjali that yes, I'm siding with Khushi because she brought you back to health, it seemed as though Mami too was giving Anjali an excuse she would believe, an excuse which made Anjali feel good, that it was for her sake Mami was happy with Khushi. But no, Mami was happy with Khushi because she took a difficult decision and Mami finally saw that like her, Khushi too can do anything for the family.
And that of course is MY interpretation ;) after all, we have always seen that Mami under her sharp tongue is genuinely very fond of both Arnav and Anjali, today Mami saw that Khushi was willing to jeopardize her own relationship with Arnav for Anjali's sake.
Shwethu...that is my SKD but Arnav is far away from thinking of this at all...
DeleteBut one thing is i am yet to really decipher his expressions on what Anji said.....or for that matter on what Nani said....
Something tells me that it will have bearing on a future scene when Anji(nani?) will come to him telling something to the contrary about Khushi...this scene will be an FB, a sort of realisation for him about how much this girl endures for him.....
The TRPs are bound to fall if the. Hero is always. Losing to the villain. How long will the viewers tolerate this stupidity of PH .
DeleteWhy are TRPs of behna and child bride and wick light high because there GOOD is triumphing over EVIL whereas here it is the opposite ..the hero is constantly losing.he says as long as he is LIVING the villain cannot enter his home but next minute villain is openly flaunting his presence Arre! Show the man having a backbone or don't make him, spout such threatening dialogues if he can,t live upto therm.
Am sorry for the rant but it's. Time good prevails over evil ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!
If tomorrow Sanaya leave this show for greener pastures I would not bother to tune into Star Plus at all.
Sorry girls I. Have had enough of this Evilwa and his antics.
if Braun also leaves its the end of SP for me.I will switch to other channels.
