Quite interesting - the contrast between the girl's side and the boy's side in a wedding. On the girl's side, emotions are bitter-sweet. the excitement of the wedding mixed always with the sadness of the imminent departure of the girl, fears and worries of the girl and her family, about how she will adjust in a new house, the emotions of her family about her leaving, smiles mixed with tears ...
On the boy's side, the rest of the family was not shown much at all, but men have no such mixture of emotions - for them, it's all excitement and happiness, the addition of a new member to the family. the fun and games of a wedding and all the raunaq - not that much of that has been shown so far! In RM, it was all about Akash's restlessness to meet Payal at midnight, and his worry as to why she was suddenly sounding so sad, his inability (as that of all men) to fully comprehend those mixed emotions a girl goes through.
Khushi's reactions at the sight of Buaji's wedding joda were hilarious ... as were her desperate attempts to get out of wearing it without hurting Buaji's feelings too much. Especially her suggestion about hooking up NK with Buaji ... this is the second time she's tried to hook up one of her suitors with Buaji - first was Shyam! And next day, Khushi's annoyance at having to give Arnav any gift at all, and her suggestion of a fire extinguisher ... Buaji says Payal will defend her jeth ... and they realise Payal will be leaving soon ... all those emotions surface ... sweet.
And of course, Akash and NK's collective wimpiness to call Payal, Arnav does the needful ... when it's his turn to call Khushi, he has to think a hundred times, whether to call her or not, but for Payal, again, no emotions involved, so it's easy. Was also funny to see him getting annoyed with Akash and NK's discussion on meeting Payal, ostensibly trying to work ... arey, itna zyada kaam tha, toh he could have gone to another room! But of course he couldn't - he had to sit right there and listen to their discussion, even though he pretended it irked him! NK's chips *rofl*
And it was good to see him getting seriously annoyed about NK and Khushi chatting comfortably like old friends - slow burn, Arnav! Some more of the usual nokjhok between Khushi and Arnav - not very much today, it was more playing passing the parcel with the phone.
Sweet feel good episode to start off the New Year - nothing much happened, just some general family scenes on both sides, setting up for the NYE meeting ahead. And yes, of course, Slimeball is up to his tricks ... he is not planning to kill Anjali for sure, his intention is to win Khushi's trust back ... but what's with the live wire in the pool? Hopefully, another trick which will backfire ... but till he is completely exposed, he won't give up ...

3 things that irked me today:
ReplyDeleteG family insisting on khushi wearing that dress, cant they see she didnt like it, hated payal's reaction the most, grrr..But consoled myself saying this dress will hopefully will be responsible for RVey or the very least arnav taking her out for shopping so holding my irritation at that one. That dress better be responsible for RV/Shopping/Marriage, or elsee....lol
2. Shyam & Anjali at the poolside..Trespassing at its worst...That is strictly arhi area, stay out. Okay again have to grudgingly admit, if shyam wasnt evil, daljeet and abhaas do look together, the first time I felt like that dunno why, Damn I am missing the passionate arhi too much arent I?
3. Shyam: No specific reason as he always does bugs me. But was that momentary genuine concern he had for anjali when he hugged till she brought him back with her carelessness dialogue which ignited his evil mind again. Loled at his dialogue if something happens to you, what would happen to me or to be exact my monthly income?
Akash: Too cute.
NK: DAMN cute with chips & his khushi talk.
Arnav: The one gets thing done and puts a stop to the things he doesnt like. Phone call done, stop khushi-nk convo done. The big question is what will he DO when he finds out about Shyam??
Khushi: *rofl* at the fire extinguisher for Arnav. Hmm..Bua inadvertently said it Khushi knows arnav the best, so select a gift for him. I wonder what they will end up getting him really, a Sherwani perhaps so he ends up wearing it at cos khushi chose it for him and just so gupta's dont feel bad or something cos unless he otherwise intends to wear one, none in the R Family are capable of convincing him.
Khushi: oscillating between being mature with aksh and adorably fun with nk and ofcourse arnav.
OMG, OMG, OMG...We all thought their encounter would be an outdoor one, did you ever think about the possibility of them ending together in khushi's bed under a blanket...I can sooo see Arnav although irritated at first but thoroughly enjoying naughtily when buaji is in the room and khushi i am guessing rather hoping khushi lying next to him trying to convince buaji to go out of the room, lol.
On a random note, how sad is that arnav a single guy is spending new year's eve at home dressed in business suit working...Boy does that guy need a life or what, he as much needs khushi as she needs him.
On a serious note, the track change from wednesday to wednesday continues, if last week was light hearted after the previous week of La's exit and shyam's truth, coming wednesday again the serious track is going to start.
My guess is anjali would be hurt and Arnav after coming home all happy and light hearted will feel guilty like hell for not being around when his di got injured and while everyone is around anjali consoling or getting consoled (whatever that means), Khushi would be the only one who would realize how much Arnav is hurting and would reach out to him even if he resists I think he would be incredibly grateful for her presence. Think the hospital hug in reverse.
Anyway, I hope it is Shyam who gets hurt, I mean Devi maiyya needs to start protecting Anjali too right.
And yes, blogger had more emotions too:)
Loved your take on how different it is in the girl;s home and the boys home..And Kanjoos PH atleast make the home like it is shaadi ka ghar, the RM one atleast.

But seriously, it's high time that directors take both Arnav and Khushi to next level soon.... Can't wait to see their daily squabbles as husband and wife!!!! I have never watched any serial in my life before. I used to just browse channels and I always wondered why mom used say "do not disturb" during her TV times. In fact, I used to get so irritated when I used to call from US and get an answer "can you call after 30 mins?" from my mom.
Now with IPKKND, I see myself being my mom and saying to my two kids, either dinner is at 7.30PM or it's at 8.30PM and my elder son says "mom, it's just a TV program...." :)

@Blanket: Well in one of the taglines, it was said "would buaji recognize arnav under the blanket". So lot of us are assuming, while payal sneaks off with Akash, Arnav is forced to remain in the same room and when buaji enters, the only place where he hides is under the blanket. So expecting a good Rabba vey or even better there, let us see.

I actually just enjoyed Khushi's reactions to that ancient lehnga of buaji's ... like I said, it was okay for me that Guptas were finally doing some cost-cutting since they're supposed to be not well off ... but I agree, I didn't like Garima and Payal's reactions, especially Payal's, when Khushi tried to fob off the lehnga onto her and she was like ... nooo, I get the new one, you take this old thing! :(
But don't hold your breath for Arnav to take Khushi out shopping ... the entire forum is annoyed with Khushi for being rude to him, but honestly he is pretty obnoxious to her!!! I don't see him being remotely pleasant to her for a long time, forget about taking her shopping. The most we can hope for is a RVe ;-)
Daljeet and Abhaas ... hmmm ... didn't think about them like that, I was too busy wanting them to get off the poolside ... that's Arhi territory!
Shyam ... what is he really up to? I can't believe he actually wants to kill Anjali, not after all those dialogues about her being his money bank. I think it's more about winning Khushi's trust again ... fat chance he's got of that!
Me too, I was wondering what Guptas will finally get hom as a gift, maybe something for his gardening? I hope it's suggested by Khushi, that's all, and is something sensible. Although her suggestion of a fire extinguisher was rather apt, the guy is smouldering all through today's episode *rofl*
Khushi has so many shades ... bubbly with NK, mature and sweet with Akash, pert and annoying with Arnav - it's a tough role to play, actually ... Arnav has it much easier, he can just glower his way through! And OMG, I never thought of that till you said so - really, how sad is Arnav, young rich handsome bachelor and has NO NY plans???!!! He really needs a life!
I really wonder what's gonna happen under that blanket - just hope it is not a repeat of the bathroom sequence! I don't want senseless comedy, I want some serious romance. It's high time now!
I REALLY hope you're right about the Anjali getting hurt and Khushi seeing Arnav's worry and reaching out to him ... that is one prediction I would love to see come true! Again, high time they got serious about each other, the bickering is getting annoying and repetitive!

Dinner time is the same in my house too *rofl* except that it's always after 8.30 for me, as my kids are older :) If my husband is home from office, he dares not interrupt my show - problem is, he's started watching it too if he's home, and making rude comments! Kya museebat hai!
Hehe, I have been fond of shows before, but never to this extent, I think! Now I don't even attend phone calls between 8-8.30 - and make excuses that I was in the loo :D

Oh I loved her reaction to the lehenga, the horror and the smooth way she tried to get out of it, Loved sanaya there. But like you said, Payal gets new ones, khushi gets old ones, doesnt go well with me considering she is the one who works and if you think about it the hell she has got from Arnav initially whether at office or at his home. Although she gets more affection from the rest of the R family than her own AND Yes, Arnav can go purple or all rainbow colors admitting he cares for her, It just saddens me too much that be it during the shyaam thing or the dress she never gets to have her say.
No wonder, she barely thinks about herself. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I want Arnav to buy her something nice to make up at the very least to the boutique incident and pamper and indulge her. I dont care if he does it in the pretext that since she is the Raizada bride's sister, she should look equally grand too or whatever lame excuses he can come up with.
@Arnav: Yup he has to take the next step here, ASAP. There is no way khushi will do it after he trampled her feelings.
In fact he has to go out of the way to woo and apologize to her. Also he needs to convince her to give him and them a chance to start again.
Which is why the small things like taking her out for shopping or doing something for her would count. What he did for payash doesnt technically count cos he did it for his own bro. But coming tonite, I hope khushi realizes although he can pretend it was for akash, it was also for her...even if it was just to make sure nk doesnt see her at the Cinderella hour.
Yes, it is time he is nice to her. I am kind of bored seeing them argue senselessly. He needn't go all mushy but some odd remark here and there, knowing Khushi she would MELT with just those things. For her simple things matter.
I am hoping for a naughty Arnav, you know one who is irritated when khushi asks NK didnt come or if NK is around completely ignores Arnav and this guy is capable of being naughty and making things difficult for her. Since the Kabhi Serious track is going to start from today or tomorrow let us have a good ending to the kabhi comedy Very rare romance track.

ReplyDeleteShyam: It would be extremely funny, if he gets hurt or super duper if he in NK Style bole toh becomes Murda, unfortunately we all know that aint happening.
So I can think of two scenarios:
Anjali gets hurt , Arnav getting worried like I mentioned above and Khushi getting suspicious and putting on her detective hat or dupatta like any self respecting star plus bahu or beti.
This also paves way for khushi realizing shyam is out to hurt anjali and reveal shyam's truth to arnav.
Scenario 2 - Shyam deliberately hurts himself trying to save Anjali getting Anjali all freaked out thereby effectively cementing his place in the R family so if his truth comes out he will be the guy who risked his life for anjali.
The director said, a big convo is coming up so unless something serious happens I dont see arhi talking to each other. Also I wish ppl write on his wall and ask him why there are no promos and get the old writers or get the essence of the first 6 months back.
If at all I feel like rewatching I prefer the old ones, post diwali none of the scenes have had that much impact guess I miss the intensity and the passion.
Shweths, I agree with you about the pre-Diwali scenes ... heck, even up to the La exit, we got some good solid scenes between the leads. After La's exit, the cv's seem to have completely lost their way - the intensity between Arhi is just lost in the bickering. I was watching a vm which had a lot of the old moments, and there were so many, and such good ones ... don't know where that story has disappeared. :(((
ReplyDeleteAm glad actually to see the comments on the director's wall - they are all pretty sensible, none are asking just for Rabba ve moments back, everyone wants a return to that old intensity, a sensible Khushi and a gradual progression in their feelings. And they're all polite too - so hopefully the cv's will listen!
And yes, I would so love to see Arnav actually go out of his way to do something for her ... she really deserves it after all the crap she gets from her family! First time round, when she was to marry Slimeball, she didn't get to choose either the husband or even the wedding dress, and now she doesn't get to choose what she wears at Payash's wedding. Most unfair! And she is the only earning member of the family - though I don't think she even has time to do any tuitions now with the dance practices! But I really want to see Arnav realise what she has to deal with at home, and try to do something for her ... I thought he would get a glimpse when he visited the GH, but no such luck!
Did LM say a big convo is coming? Or just a big moment? I hope it's a convo - and a serious one ...
Almost forgot - the swimming pool scenario ... I don't care who gets hurt, but I hope Khushi puts on her SP bahu detective hat and starts smelling a rat around Slimeball again ... though my gut feel is Shyam will get hurt trying to save Anjali and somehow show that it was Anjali's carelessness. But this is only the first try, there will be more than just one.
No need to thank me AT ALL, Shweths, am so glad to have someone to vent with here! The ASR drooling on the forum gets on my nerves ... it actually prevents me from enjoying ASR as much as I want to! I like them both - the character and the actor, in fact I prefer ASR's character to Khushi in many ways, but the lopsided views on the forum just put me off!

ReplyDeleteSo If i feel like re watching something, my favs are the teej, office when she says she is leaving and the la training periods. That had loads of intensity and passion.
I don't recognize either one of them now. I simply check the forum for some news and if have some time read the posts.
I guess after tonite's epi ppl will be going all nuts it was a filler epi blah blah.
We all know that sarun went off for a well deserved break so they must have shot all their scenes ahead. Which is why the rest of the epis are being filled by the supporting cast.
And mind you the supporting cast is good here and manage to fairly hold your attention, granted not as much as arhi.
But you cant have a successful show on the basis of just 2 ppl. So it is imperative that the other stories get shown too. My guess is we can get an actual picture of how this is headed probably from next week. The shooting might have commenced by then and we will have full dose of arhi. So till then, guess we have to be patient.
And yes, there are lots of subgroups there so it is such a big relief to be here.
p.s. - NK was again very good and cute. Even though arhi scenes were missing the 3 bros scene does have a charm of its own so till we get our arhi back, let us atleast enjoy what we get.
Shwetha, haven't seen the episode yet, will make a post for tonight soon, and edit tomorrow. But yes, I guess we should expect fillers today and maybe tomorrow also, cos SaRun were on leave so give them a break! As long as we get good Arhi scenes when they get back!
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree, you can't run a show on 2 people, the problem is Payash are weak, and Mami who was entertaining seems to also be on a break. So NK is holding the fort ... not that I mind, he's amusing for time pass at least. And we really, REALLY need the old Arhi back!
Yup, shyam will try and fail loads of times and I am hoping Arnav slowly starts getting suspicious.

Agree Payal are weak. Akash/Akshay manages to hold his own even when he barely had dialogues. I like him a lot and it is good to see him get scenes. But Payal is incredibly weak. The thing is I saw Deepali's interview on the new year thing, she seems all bubbly and fun..So I am guessing, she is not being utilized properly or maybe she is just bad at romance, lol.
Mami & Buaji are characters who have their own following. I am not kidding, the forum ppl will not agree cos their main focus is arhi. In reality in interiors where the trp numbers are made, those ppl can identify with Mami and Buaji cos such ppl do exist.
I somehow prefer watching R family minus Shyam to G family anyway.
And yes I am willing to sacrifice 1 Rabba vey not that we have had much to sacrifice of late,lol..Just to see a scene where Arnav sees Khushi in G family.
U know I was hoping somehow Arnav & Anjali are in G family for some formal shaadi related thingy and Anjali wants to see what Khushi is wearing and Immediately buaji brings that dress, Arnav and maybe Anjali both notice the momentary expression of Khushi on how she is not really happy with it, but how she smilingly agrees..Which kind of prompts Anjali and arnav to buy something for Khushi.
I like watching Anjali & Khushi scenes, cos they have this sweet chemistry and understanding from day one. So hopefully we get more of those.
This is what bugs me the most about the show, It has so much material, subplots relationships that can be beautifully explored and yet gets ignored.
Will look forward to your post tomorrow, even If I dont have much to write, I am sure I will find something to blabber about lol.
