Maybe because I knew Arshi were back, I enjoyed today's episode far more than yesterday's :) Although on re-watch, Wednesday wasn't that bad actually.But Thursday's was definitely a notch higher in terms of acting even from Payash, especially Payal - she actually had some varied expressions on her face! Shyam-Anjali occupied very little screen space and it was lame. And after Arnav enters, the level just changed completely :P Khushi had very little screen time, and she used it to light up the screen with her 1000 watt smile as always, though Sanaya's voice modulation was off today - her voice sounded a bit shrill.
So episode started with Shyam Anjali - a million holes to poke here ... how come Anjali didn't realise Shyam was dancing on the pool edge and dipping her over it ... with her foot half off the edge, didn't she feel she was losing her balance? And Mamaji randomly coming in just in the nick of time for no apparent reason - why was he disturbing private moment - should have given him some excuse, like returning Anjali's phone or something. AND he sees the wire, they are all look suitably horrified, and then Mamji leaves without doing a darn thing about it! At least take the plug out of the socket or switch it off!
VERY lame scene ... half-heartedly written and executed. But wth .. who cares, right?! :D As long as Shyam's first plan misfired as we knew it would!
Back to action - to the GH :) Akash stuck on the chair, Payal hovering worriedly ... poor Akash is not having a very good NYE! Although he hadn't planned for it this way, but he quite enjoyed it after all! Reminded him of his childhood too? ;) Then he asks her to come out with him ... Payal looks terrified :( Deepali needs to act loads better in the romantic scenes ... she just doesn't get that awareness and warmth that Sanaya does. Akash has to remind Payal of what all he went through for her before she agrees - as though she's doing him a favour! Hey bhagwan, what a wet blanket! =)) And why can't Akash look at her while he's talking?
So she finally agrees ... and then the Kissa Kursi Ka starts =)) They do figure out that it's due to Buaji's glue ... here's where Payal actually gets some expressions on her face :P so the Akash-Payal trying to get rid of chair was cute, especially when Buaji's voice is heard and Payal forgets all laaj sharam and grabs hold of Akash and the chair frantically :P Buaji wanting to beat up Akash under kambal ... Payal's look of horror when she appears with big danda =)) ... Akash petrified ... Payal saving Akash ... some of Khushi's quick-wittedness has actually rubbed off on her, I can see :P
Loved the way both were missing Khushi ... sure she would have come up with some plan :P More frantic tries, before Akash finally gives up and calls Arnav ...

Akash says Khushi is not there, otherwise he wouldn't have troubled Arnav. Arnav says Thank God ... he'd never live it down with Khushi if she was there, after he told her she would be the one to come in front of him!
More tug of war ... Arnav Akash this time ... as Payal demurely turns her back, only to turn around in horror as Akash crashes the chair to the floor again, and both brothers look up with identical looks of horror on their faces =)) Did Buaji hear?! So Payal says, not again ... Arnav's last resort ... glue dissolving chemical, which will dissolve the cloth as well ... Payal retreats to bedroom :P and brothers get to work.
Akash remembers getting stuck to his bed in school ... Arnav says, I didn't do it ... Akash says, no, of course you didn't, I was just remembering ... and Arnav smirks.o:-)
Chair and trousers off ... Arnav forgot Akash's pants, so Payal gives him Buaji's pajamas =)) This is NOT going the way Akash had imagined. But not deterred, he still wants to take Payal out for his surprise. Dogged determination ... that's the way, Akash! =D>
Side note - ah, so this is when Arnav went into Khushi's bedroom and dropped the phone. Mystery solved ... I was wondering!
Arnav waiting outside ... Akash and Payal leave, Akash tells him not to wait.
But how can Arnav leave without catching at least a glimpse of Khushi?
He actually looks around as though for her ... then starts to leave ... realises his phone is missing, so has to go back into the house ... very slowly and cautiously ... and shuts the door behind him ...
Just as an exuberant Khushi arrives ... ready for the New Year ... she reaches her room where Arnav is under the bed looking for his phone, and shouts out to Jiji ... it's almost 12! And Arnav emerges from under the bed flummoxed ... he can't believe it, despite all his attempts, and hers ... he is going to see her at midnight!
And as Khushi ends the countdown and opens her eyes in excitement, Arnav picks up his phone from the floor and rises slowly to face her ... and Khushi's face changes from exuberant excitement to a shocked disbelief ... while Arnav looks almost calm ... as though somewhere accepting finally, that this was bound to happen ...

Is it just me or you also felt that Arnav didn't react in an uncomfortable manner that said " I challenged her and here I am, at her house, in her room, in front of her, exactly at 12 night" kind of expression. So far, all along, his ego has been always depicted first and his expression did not show "eat my own words...."
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, lovely episode. You are right Dia, I watched Wednesday's episode again and it's really didn't look that bad.
Barun has a killing smile. His naughty smile when Akash brings up childhood incident of him being stuck to the bed due to a glue, was just awesome. When Khushi enters her room and tells "Jiji utho, baara bajane aya hai...", Barun stands up and the heart beat wala background music .... that was nice touch... I am sure lot of female fans would have gone awwwww today. Barun has such massive female fan following him and I really wonder how this 26 year old actor must be taking all this admiration!!!!
Khushi was simply good. "Bua ji hamein Mast Maula bulati hai"...was just too cute. I used to think what is that one word that would define Khushi, I guess, I found it now "Mast Maula....". Her excitement when counting was too good. SI depicts that innocence, child like excitement spot on.
And where did NK go? I guess today, he will come to Khushi's house and see both ASR and KKG together and go heart broken ...awww...feel bad for him..

I saw SBB/SBS segments and I can't wait for today's episode. Again thinking of it, directors are gonna give some dose of Arhi scenes and some Rabba Ves and leave us high and dry till Monday.

Okay to the epi, Akshay is really good. This will be the show if he is given enough chance he can easily hone his skills for his next show. He unfortunately gets let down by Deepali a lot, so hopefuly she picks it up and complements him.
31.12.2011 around 11.30 pm..Arnav singh raizada is working..forget celebrating with friends not even his family is around for him.
No wonder be it khushi or arnav feel so comfortable in each other's home - even if their own family is not around, atleast they would be for each other in varying degrees of tempers and moods ofcourse.
Loved the glimpse of naughty arnav, with his straight face, I didnt do it and later the naughty smirk...Can we have one such scene with Khushi PLZZZZZZZZ...He does something naughty, she knows, she screams, his family comes along and she is too embarassed to say what and he goes innocently..WHAT???
The practical arnav who brought the chemical, I didnt even know such things existed, so something new learnt yesterday.
Why did Akash have to beg so much for payal to accompany him..ughhhh. Arnav would have dragged khushi if he wanted her somewhere and ofcourse vice versa.
What did you think about the arhi scene?
My thoughts, This was one lost opportunity for him to see her again in her home clothes which I prefer to her day clothes ANYDAY..and ofcourse her loose open hair to the clips marathon that is again her day hair.Hopefully soon, he will get to see her that way soon.
I loved that when she enters, he goes Oh god, there she is what should I do, Her..really. And spots the phone, sighs resignedly and goes Might as well face it...I have been looking for her ever since I came to her home, so here goes.
I just loved Barun's face went from a bit of dismay to the tender yet resolute look, Ya, it is me, deal with it. Too good.
Sanaya will be full on today..though I didnt like the whole neck exercise thingy she does in the sbs..Oh god, I have seen you, rather would have prefereed her covering her eyes or even slight slap on the head turning away from him...than the neck exercise..but oh well.
Barun does look refreshed from the vacation, hopefully sanaya has recovered well too.
I first thought with Akash inside the blanket it might have been a spelling mistake in the tagline, lol. But if you think about it, they have the whole epi today..and NK has to tapkofy and her ruckus might actually wake up bua.
And If it happens, I am sure he will not go that easily under the blanket, he would put up a fight and she might say do it for Payal's sake, he will say she is with akash, so what..and maybe when khushi says you and I are in my bedroom at night, think about me atleast, so he might reluctantly relent. Whatever I hope he sneaks out of the window, Ya, I want the mighty ASR to do that to underline the extent he might go all grumbling and when out, turn around and give a peck on her cheek and say happy new year khushi.
Ya, I know ain't gonna happen, lol. My guess and hope is after the lacklusture december and the fans uproar, the PH will pull up its act and from next week, we will get our show back.
ReplyDeletethe new tagline says, Khushi will convince arnav about sangeet, what would she convince him that he dance with her or he wear a sherwani? Also khushi is supposed to be making some idea with her family, again dunno regarding what.
Oh I read the blogpost on the resignation episode, see the first time I watched it, I really didnt understand the nuances of the characters that well..The thing I noticed was when she leaves, she is somewhere sad that she will not see him again and that he has not said a single thing to stop her or even react...Almost disappointed that he is letting her go so easily..And arnav's face eyes were just conveying one thing - plz dont go, just give me one more chance, his ego and maybe the presence of his family members stopping him. Your post gave it more depth and I really enjoyed watching that scene again.

I can say this here, on IF I will be lynched ... I don't know whether it's Barun's fault or the direcor's ... but sometimes Arnav comes across as too uni-dimensional and flat in his emotions. Like Deepa mentioned, today, was Arnav at all conscious of the fact that he was eating his own words about Khushi coming in front of him at 12? This is when he entered the GH and Akash said he wouldn't have called Arnav if Khushi was there, and Arnav said Thank God she's not here. I think that was the right time to show that slight embarrassment, maybe Arnav looking around for Khushi a bit furtively and relief at Akash's words.
I would really have liked to see his ego taking a small beating ... without that, there will be no progress in their love story! His ego is the biggest impediment in their love.
Again, in the part where he stands outside waiting for Akash and Payal to make up their minds what to do, is he or is he not looking around for Khushi? He should have been, and there should have been a mixture of emotions here as well, a slight shame-facedness at being there after his words to her, as well as SOME hint of wanting to see her ... after all, he is subconsciously supposed to be in love with her by now, right? And again, I watched the scene thrice on YT, and I couldn't get any emotions there from him ... I don't know whether it's the director's fault or Barun's.
Sanaya as Khushi just lights up the screen as soon as she enters. The last two minutes of the episode were the best for me ... although I found her a little shrill today, normally she modulates her voice better. I guess she had to show Khushi's excitement ... jalebis and Jiji ... aww, this girl :) Such simple wants! And just LOVED the way her expression changed as she saw Arnav ... shock, disbelief ... can almost hear her say "I don't believe this .... after all I did to stay out of your way, after all your barbs on not wanting to see me, my spoiling your new year, you're HERE?!"
I love Sanaya's eyes ... I can read all her emotions ... she has them down pat in her eyes ... while Barun doesn't get the mix right at times.
Although I have to say, I loved the look on his face right at the end, when he just stops any attempt to hide from her ... the way he rises from under the bed, and the way he comes in front as she has her eyes shut for the countdown, he picks up his phone and just waits in front of her for her to open her eyes and see him ... that almost-resignation, barely there smile ... yeah, I'm here, it's me, and it had to happen this way.
Shwetha, the post was short because I was trying out the emoticon and was in process of editing ;) Unless severely pressed for time, I am incapable of writing very short posts! SO keep the long comments coming :P

ReplyDeleteI KNOWWWWWW ... I was hoping for a simple Khushi in her night vala pink churidar and open hair ... that would have blown Arnav away! I really hope they give Khushi an open hair look after marriage and don't keep this ridiculous plait :(
You echo my thoughts again ... I didn't like that neck rolling in the SBS either ... too much nautanki. Hopefully it will be minimal ... and judging by the SBS/SBB, they do land up talking normally by the end of the scene ... am sure NK will see something indicating their closeness. Blanket ... still have mixed feelings about that one ... but I think it may not be total nautanki, so can I dare to be cautiously optimistic? I want romance now ... pure, full-blooded all-out romance! Or at least a start ... and it can get some momentum during the sangeet.
Again some random thoughts - about this night scene, I think it is quite likely they will drag to Monday ... maybe end at NK's shocked face staring at them tonight ... So if it ends on a good note between the two of them, then Khushi persuading Arnav to take part in the sangeet might either be NK's doing completely, or he will help, without letting Khushi know that he's playing Cupid.
Peck on cheek ... not happening ... stop dreaming, Shwetha! =)) A dance ... also not happening ... stop dreaming, Dia! =)) Oh well, we can hope, can't we?! :P
Resignation episode ... those were the days ... the guest house incident and the subsequent episodes, the resignation, the storeroom when she says she's leaving for Lucknow and he doesn't see her for days, and then he finally sees her at his house, confronts her, and she drops her payal ... that track was just so good! I really, really hope we get that kind of intensity back!

My comment got forcibly split into 2 too and sorry since you usually put "edit later", I assumed or rather got scared your new resolution is to write short posts, lol.
Deepa: Agree, He knows how to smile in different occassions, he just gets it right and you can actually see the difference in each smile of his.
Dia: I totally get you, there are some days when they kind of have an off day but that doesnt bother you too much cos they complement each other so well, so you tend to overlook them. But in akshay-deepali, deepali is more off than on compared to him, so difference is clearly for us too.
And YES, he should have when he entered looked around a bit, even if there isnt a monologue and act or rather be disappointed and again when outside, I didnt know whether he was happily watching akash and payal or was he waiting for khushi, just incase. So maybe he should have looked at his watch, looked around and you know started walking off. My guess the director and the actor missed this one.

Sanaya's excitement is infectious and she expresses beautifully with her eyes. So her shock at seeing him, the sheer horror of finding him standing there when she did everything possible not to come in front of him was too good.
Ha ha, will keep on dreaming..I am sure I will atleast get 1 dream of mine come true for the show.
The only reason I think arnav under blanket is a possiblity is cos NK is yet to arrive or else I would like to think they do their rabba vey and he goes out. My guess is since he is trying to go out of her room through the door, he might see bua or after the rabba vey bua might wake up with all the shouting khushi is doing, lol.
Let us see..I just hope bua doesnt thing seeing NK at home that he has come for khushi (which he actually has) and goes into her matchmaking mode again.
You know till the resignation to the ME of the payal one, those are my favorite parts of the show, Those are the scenes I like rewatching. Not even the diwali the near miss holds my interest as much as the above period did cos that had raw intensity, passion, confusion in both of them and Khushi was more Khushi.
I hope makeover happens soon, it is high time. You know it has been six months in arnav-khushi's life, ppl have been known to change their wardrobe and hairstyle atleast once during these times right. Kanjoos PH, GRRR..
I want that intensity back...minus the comedy. This show had plenty of humor in the form of loads of clever oneliners, that is more than enough...I want that BG music when he takes a step towards her, I want a more sensuous, intense rabba now onwards. Let the music director earn his salary, dammit.

it was fun after they realize that he is stuck.....
Buaji was good.......she seemed like a woman who has stayed alone for so long, that she is used to doing everything on her own...........i have started liking her after the Shyam truth revealation....didn't even mind her saving her marriage outfit for the girls.....seemed like an emotional thing for me, more then giving khushi second hand stuff.......
i hope that Buaj mentions something bt the old dress when arnav is in the blanket.....mentioning to khushi that she has to adjust as they are short of cash and Arnav hearing all this, buys her the same dress that he humiliated her for......
Arnav's entry made the episode much much better.....
But Khushi's entry made it awesome for me.......maybe cause i knew that they will definitely meet now :-D
To me Arnav's expression when he ran to pick the phone was more like grab the phone and run for it.......not the resigned to fate one.....maybe i am wrong in reading his expression.....but later when she turns, his eyes soften a lot......like the expression he had during the diwali night.......i want that expression on his face when he looks at her when no-one is watching.......that assures me that he has feelings for her..
me too wanted to see a simple khushi with her house wala clothes and open hair, i guess the director is in love with khushi's pom poms and braid.....lets hope that nani forces her to wear saris after marriage, that way she can leave her hair open......I want to see khushi wearing sarees similar to what anjali wears....some of them (not all though) are awesome......
Even m dreading Khushi's OTT neck movement tonite......but guess she will be that way, so might as well accept it..........and the sbb segment looked like they calm down and have a sane conversation towards the end......maybe NK barges into Buaji's room at that moment and she wakes up screaming prompting Khushi to hide Arnav in the blanket.......

Actually I found another site where I can make the emoticons work on the comments too, but it is far more challenging to do, especially for technically challenged people like me ;) ... didn't have the time today to try that, I will try after the weekend :)
And ditto you on most of the rest - that phase was the best phase of IPKKND, I think till then the makers stuck to the original story they had planned, but after that they got the required TRP's and they started dragging ... X(
Did you realise that IPK has been in the top 10 pretty consistently almost since last July end? That's pretty good going actually - it came in, dropped out, then got back in again, and has stayed there the last few months. So unless the cv's muck up things very badly, it will stay there, I would think.
But I REALLY want a makeover for Khushi now ... it's been six months, for Pete's sake ... high time they got her out of those awful suits and into something a little more flattering. Sanaya is such a pretty girl, she can look nice even in those awful things, but we need a change now! We saw some nice new suits on the FB page, I don't know what happened to them! :(
Geetu, my thoughts exactly ... Payal seemed irritated and distressed with Akash, there was no pleasure at all in the start ... the mix of emotions was just not there. She did improve with the Glue on Chair, though, thankfully, so the scene was good. I watched the repeat and I laughed again :P
Arnav's expression ... hmm, I still feel he finally decided he couldn't avoid meeting her ... he came out to pick up his phone just as Khushi reached 2 ... 1 ... 0 on her countdown, and then he stood up slowly and very deliberately and faced her firmly ... I don't think he was thinking of running away. And oh yes, his expression went completely soft as he saw her face ... 8-)
I saw the SBS again also (I had some free time today =)) ) and it definitely looks as though they calm down after her fit ... so I hope that is what NK sees. Let's see ... am getting very hopeful for tonight, in spite of Khushi's screaming at the start ... again, don't blame the girl ... she did ALL she possibly could to avoid seeing him, and lo and behold he lands up in her bedroom at the stroke of midnight! No wonder she bursts forth ... as Sanaya said, Khushi wasn't angry, she was just venting 'Iss baar meri koi galti nahin hai!'

I WAS RIGHT...He is now firmly under the blanket just for khushi...And I am pretty sure since she pushed him, He is going to snuggle and pull her beside him and khushi will not be able to say a damn thing (rofl)

Now I am getting even more ambitious and betting (who cares if i lose, lol), that when he finally leaves, irritated by the fact that NK showed up, aware of her closeness and how things are almost back to normal, the peck in the cheek with happy new year khushi toh hona hi hai.
And DREAM on..Diya. Now like You I too am sure a dance is on our way.
