27/6 - Epi 131 ... Plans Afoot

Friday 27th June

So it was all Paro's plan ... and it worked ... or started working. Much to Rudra's discomfort ... he really doesn't like Paro not catering to his Maasa's every comfort. And she cannot ... absolutely cannot ... think of throwing his maasa out of the room! After all, he doesn't want to fall in Paro's eyes.
Yeah right!

Paro apologises to maasa ... and they're happy over Rudra's progress in emerging from his childhood.

In the meantime, more plans are afoot ...

Mohini's plan to send Maithili to her maayka, and get Samrat re-married.
Sumer doesn't think much of that one!

And some mysterious stranger's plan to hurt Paro. So we see Rudra doing his taandav again ... who dares hurt his Paro?!
And he actually manages to ask Paro some pertinent questions ... the first time I've seen Rudra doing his job.
And then informs his family and the world in general, that he's going to catch the culprit, whoever he is.

Diya's note - hold on, was he going slow on the Tejawat search because of his mother?! Who the heck gave this guy a job in the BSD?
And Ashish should NOT try to look shattered ... he looks funny!

Okay, regardless of disclaimers ... I DO NOT approve of showing acid attacks on girls on screen. It is a disgusting, pathetic, obnoxious, repulsive thing to do! At the very least, they should show the guy getting caught and beaten up by Rudra and the entire BSD.

  1. Can't agree more, was a very disturbing sight, forwarded the whole scene.

Plans are definitely afoot, especially by CVs of having the prince charming rescuing his damsel in distress after she gets a few ebee-gebeez from the good looking villian. When all else fails turn to fairy tales...

I do like Ashish and Sanaya jodi, but if RR winds up, I really want Sanaya for once get a role that justifies her talent and is not be butchered or compromised to make other characters look good in the story.

Hope the new knight in shining armour track, gets them the attention of those 9000 TRP audience.

    1. Hello everyone. The episode seemed to be a preface to the next track. The Mala track is not completely over. Honestly, I didn't expect the new villain to come this early. I cannot think of anyone who would want to hurt Paro. Except Tejawat, Laila or Mohini. Somehow, I am not convinced that Mohini would do such a thing. Not that she is incapable of doing it, but right now, she is focused on Samrat's remarriage. Tejawat would want to protect himself first. His adventure with Laila was not so successful. So, I doubt if it is him. Laila is the only one who is greatly active at the moment. And she has the biggest advantage by getting rid of Paro. Could it be possible that the guy in the helmet is an accomplice of Laila? In the precap, the doll's hand is cut. So, someone from the haveli or someone who knows the haveli very well, would have stolen the doll from Paro-Rudra's room. Which makes me think it could be Mohini doing all this. Please.... not Mohini again.... :( Another non-linear thought is that the person could be related to Paro's first husband. Urgggghhhhhhhhh....... The CVs have managed to surprise us in most of the tracks. Hopefully, this one is worth watching.

@Dia: This is a continuation of the previous episode's post. I didn't know that RR had time till September 2014. Despite its flaws, RR is still a good show. And the CVs would not have resorted to fast-track narrations and illogical concepts, had it not been for the low TRPs.So, I don't blame them completely. If RR gets over by September 2014, so be it. I am just going to enjoy the show as long as it lasts.

    2. Uma,
ROFL ... yes, CVs are making lots of plans, it seems ... but the last shot of Rudra in his Rajnikant hero avatar made me feel this is just going to be more of the same old story of glorifying the hero to the exclusion of everyone else. So I don't have much hope for the new track either ... let's see. I would like to be wrong, and RR to wind up with decent TRPs.

Madhu .. I feel it will be Tejawat, or if the actor has left, someone related to him, who is out to take revenge. Maybe his son from an earlier marriage, or an heir who is annoyed because Tejawat's property has been seized by the state ... if the cvs bother to give him a good reason at all. Wonder if Laila has left, or the actress is still on the payroll. Again, by not giving her character much depth the cvs have lost any audience sympathy for her ... though here the actress was to blame as well ... she was quite bad, and just could not portray the role of vamp properly.

Hopefully not Mohini ... she should be busy with plans to get Smarat married again ... with Rudra and Paro getting ready for their honeymoon, she needs to do something quickly before the advent of mini Angaar kumars and dhuan kumaris :)

Am with all of you ... just going to enjoy the show as long as it lasts ... it's still better than most of the other crap out there. I will revive the Other Shows thread for the weekend, if people are watching anything else.

  2. The new promo is awesome, gave me chills plus Sanaya looks like a gorgeous bride. By the way was the guy in the shadows wearing some sort of uniform? Looked like that specially near the shoulders!! Hmm intersting....

    1. Just saw it ... interesting! So this will finally be a Parud centered track, hopefully all family issues over and done with! Now Rudra the possessive protective jealous lover will come in.

Sanaya is looking gorgeous. What do you think of the symbolism? The guy is in the dark, she's happy with him, thinking it's Rudra ... till she sees Rudra and realises the guy with her is someone else. So will there be MU's between Parud? Will this be a guy from her past?

    2. Mannnn..... The promo is already giving me nightmares. :( :(

@Dia & MB: Both of you have mentioned this. But I am going to second it. Sanaya looks absolutely stunning. :) :)

In my previous comment, I had mentioned a non-linear possibility. That the new guy might be related to Paro's ex-husband. I am getting a feeling that that might be the case. Read a couple of similar posts in IF too. A stalker kind of one-sided lover from Paro's past sounds very lame to me. Not very spicy. Also, this new guy looks more dangerous when compared to Mohini, Laila and Tejawat himself. May be because these people are known enemies. And we are clueless about this new person. In the promo, Paro thinks that Rudra is behind her, but when Rudra calls out her name, she is shocked to see him.

@MB: The villain knows about the doll. I think the whole world would know about the doll. Paro had the doll in one hand and the sindoor dabba in the other hand, when she made that public proposal. :) :) According to Monday's precap, someone had stolen the doll and cut its arm. So, the person is very closely following the pair. Have to wait and see how the story unfolds.

According to me, Paro is a simple, uncomplicated person. So, some dark secret from her past is something I am not willing to buy. What else to say???? Lost my sleep already. :( :(

    3. Oh thanks for reminding Madhu Mita, I completely forgot about Paro public proposal to Rudra!!, ;-)) well then it gets even more interesting now, too excited to fall asleep. Monday come soon, weekend seems too long now!!!!!!!!!!!!

    4. Btw, any idea where Shwetha is? Or have I missed something? It has been quite a while since she had posted something in the blog. Just asking.

    5. Shweta is caught up with some work at home. Hopefully she'll be back soon ... am missing her crazy posts and ulta decodes a lot!

  3. To tell you the truth I am very bad at decoding symbolism until like they are in your face kind of. ;-0
But my bet is on two possibilities that even though initially she may be clueless to who the person is ( of course they have to build the suspense and all ) its someone from her previous village, a silent admirer yet crazy psycho ish/ stalker, don't ask what he was doing during the whole Tejawat-Paro-Rudra- showdown, maybe he was out of town, LOL.

But the better one is it being Tejawat's son from a previous marriage/ or some relative, who is out to avenge or he used to love Paro silently but of course our Thakursa is notorious does not want it to work that way sends him away during the whole fiasco, so now he is back!!

Oh my I am writing my own story here!!!!!

But one thing is for sure, the broken doll in next episode ( let's see how it plays ) its a pretty intimate knowledge to know about, so if the villain does know about it means he is closer to them than they know.

With this, reconciliation with Mala and Samrat's remarriage track its going to be very interesting and if this does not help the TRP's to increase then nothing will, so to hell with it!! :-/

  4. Sorry forgot to add.Your question about MU between PaRud, I don't see that for now especially with them already showing him to be a maniac throwing acid on her, looks like things gonna turn even more creepier.
So we are going to see the fierce & protective, Paro belongs only to me and I won't let anybody hurt her mode. For God sake he did not like it that she was thinking about and giving more attention to his own mother, let alone anybody else!! ;-)

    1. Yes, and also, with the stalker throwing acid on Paro, obviously a third angle in a triangle is ruled out ... this is not someone who wants Paro, and so will come between Rudra and Paro. This is someone who wants to hurt Paro, either directly ... or hurt Rudra through Paro ... So we will see only fierce protective Rudra, and no MUs.

How about Teju's son from a previous marriage? Now Tejawat obviously did not marry Mala, was that because she was already married, or maybe, since he did not know she was married and had a son, so that wasn't the stumbling block ... was it because HE was already married? And maybe his wife was locked up somewhere a la Rebecca ... and he ignored the son from that marriage for some reason? Can't think why ... because for Teju, it was all about his princedom for his family name ...
But why would the guy want to attack Paro? For revenge ... because with Teju being branded a criminal, his property is seized by the state, so the son is left without anything, and can't claim it, because he will be branded as a criminal as well.

Does Mala know about his existence in that case?

Or maybe it's a new BSD officer coming to take over the case ... because face it, Rudra has been quite a zero in handling it. And he is motionally involved with everyone - Teju is his step father, his wife Paro is chief witness, his mother Mala is another witness, his ex-lover Laila is chief informer ... he should not be in charge of the case at all! And his last sentence on the Friday episode was rather strange ... if Teju is responsible for the attack on Paro, he will forget any relation Teju has with anyone ... with meaningful glance at Mala. So does that mean he was giving leeway to Teju because of Mala? In which case, he needs to step back from the case immediately! And maybe a new guy will step in.

Let's see how the cvs take ... there are a few possibilities.

  5. Dia, this is in response to your last comment on the previous thread. I think you hit the nail on the head. The makers did take two radical theme but did no justice to the female POV in either. It was when Paro stood on one leg in rain to please Rudra that I gave up watching the show for two months. It was a mockery of the chatacter, they made her swing from one extreme to another without a proper arc. It was only Sanaya's acting which brought me back to RR, otherwise the CVs had butchered the essence of the show for me. In March itself it was clear that the disconnect with Paro was building up.

Here's hoping there is somebody out there who is writing a sensible female characters and Sanaya gets to portray one such without the character being sidelined to glorify others in the show.

    1. Uma, so true!!! When I was writing a post on Paro's actions, it struck me ... two radical themes in this show, two women very different from all the rest ... and the makers didn't concentrate on either of them ... and instead concentrated on only Rudra. Considering the mother track was the crux of the show, the reason why Rudra became the man he is, not justifying Mala's POV was suicidal. As it is, most people will not sympathise with her ... she left a bad marriage, which is okay for some, but for many Indian women, that's bad enough ... she left her son, which in the eyes of most, is unforgiveable ... she went off with a new love and had the temerity to live happily with him for fifteen years, despite still being married to her first husband ... If they wanted to make that all palatable to the Indian audience, they should have given lots of time and space to Mala and her justification. And if they don't, then they should portray Mala the villain and do it completely ... in which case, why is Paro, the only 'white' character, on her side? Why is Rudra bending towards his mother? So the whole set up is a big mess ... and one can't empathise with any of the characters.

As for Paro, there was so much they could have done with her ... the whole public proposal, standing on one leg phase, all that was the worst phase in RR ... her falling in love with Rudra was done SO BADLY and so IDIOTICALLY! The falling in love phase is so important for any love story, and they botched up Paro's part completely.

And now, in the next important track ... why did they make her so completely accepting of Mala? When she first heard that Mala is Rudra's mother, when she first met her ... there should have been some reservation ... this woman, the woman who was so good to me, how could she do this with Rudra? There should have been some hesitation there, before she decided that she was going to support Mala fully ... even if she did so without knowing the full story ... but because she knew Mala, she had seen Mala for fifteen years.

Unfortunately, the biggest problem with this show has been that it has been completely weighted on Rudra's side, and from his POV ... and his POV is very flawed and immature. If you narrate a story from the POV of one character, it should be done from the POV of the most mature character ... the one who can present a balanced story, who can present the POVs of all the characters. They did the opposite ... they presented the story from the POV of the most biased, tormented character ... so obviously it makes no sense.

That's why I don't have many expectations from this track either ... if the TRPs don't recover, I'm resigned to RR ending in a few months, and hopefully Sanaya will return with a new show ... hopefully this time with a well written sensible female character. This girl really gets the short end of the stick ... she works so hard, gives her role her everything ... and she cant catch a break!

    2. Forgot to say above ... the first radical theme was that of a woman falling in love with her husband's killer ... and that was the part they showed by Paro standing on one leg, etc ... completely ridiculous! No wonder the audience tuned out. Surprising ... GH is usually much better at writing screenplay ... wonder who was doing this, they really messed it up big time!

  6. Hello Dia,

Agree with you on the points mentioned above. About Paro and Mala. More than Paro, Mala's character has been assassinated by the CVs. I am not sure how things work. Who writes the episodes, screenplay, etc. But given the slow pace of the Mala track, the CVs could have covered a lot about why she left Rudra or rather why she didn't fight Dilsher or why she didn't use Tejawat's influence. From what I understand, Teju was completely nuts about Mala. He would have definitely understood Mala's situation and helped her get her son back. But Tejawat was not even aware of Rudra's existence until Mala mentioned it to him during the wedding track. After 15 years..... There are a lot of loop holes in the plot. Or it could be possible that the CVs are holding onto these critical information for another plot. But the problem is that these information form the crux of Mala's character. May be the audience is a little impatient too. Don't know. But frankly speaking, there was a point when I was pissed off with Mala. I know women who put up with all insults, difficulties and never bother to explain or justify themselves. But they never get anything by being silent. Just speak out once and see its effect. And now to Paro.... Read your post about Paro's POV in IF. I think the CVs could take such liberties with her characterization, only because Sanaya plays the role. I didn't like the way Paro fell in love with Rudra. But it could have been just an infatuation turned into love. I didn't like the fact that the CVs made Paro stand on one leg in heavy rain and also the public proposal. But that could have been just a misguided feeling. Also, I could not relate to Paro at all. It took me a while to understand her. But they could have done so much with Mala. Paro is someone who appears consistently on the show. The audience gets enough time to understand her. But Mala, Laila appear as and when they are necessary. The CVs could have done some work on them. If the CVs rushed through these characters because of TRP pressure, I really feel sorry for them. Like everyone else, I am literally clueless as to why the TRPs are so low for a decent show like RR. Hmmm.... Let bygones be bygones...... The new track looks different. Hope the TRP pressure doesn't get the better of the creatives and we get to watch some good story.
