The prodigal returns ... as predicted, and hoped ;) the person responsible was Dilsher.
And Rudra's world collapses around him once again ... his father brought his mother back?! After those long years of dinning into his head that his mother, and all beautiful women like her, were faithless, after dragging him around for years, running away from his wife, not allowing Rudra to lead a settled life, taking him away from the only home he had known ... Dilsher welcomes Mala back into the haveli as though it was the most natural thing to do?! Why did he bring up Rudra to hate his mother then, if he was going to welcome her back home?
A matter between husband and wife? And what about the son who was caught between the two of them? His father demanded his loyalties, Rudra gave them unflinchingly ... only to have that loyalty thrown back in his face?
Rudra's world just collapsed around him once again ... the faithlessness of his mother, which he knew ... but now, added to that, the perfidy of his father ... whom can he trust?!
And he storms off ... reduced again to the frightened, insecure twelve year old whose world shattered around him overnight.
Even by Dilsher's standards, that was rather insensitively done. Felt really sorry for Rudra ... in a bad marriage, it's always the children who suffer the most in the middle, and that is exactly what happened here.
Mohini is fuming silently all through this exchange ... not one word. She gets rid of Maithili and Samrat pronto ... doesn't want them getting any wrong ideas.
Methinks that was more like bolting the stable door after the horse had bolted.
Dilsher tells Paro awkwardly to look after Mala. Mala tells Paro to go after Rudra ... Paro does ... but not much use ... Rudra is still hurting, trying to process everything that just happened ... and failing miserably. The shock is too great .. everything he was brought up with, just turned upside down. And Rudra was not the most emotionally stable of men to start with ... he cannot handle this. So he pushes Paro away ... he can't trust anyone at all ... doesn't want to trust anyone at all. He's back to being the twelve year old abandoned child ... alone again.
Danveer brings Mala to Dilsher ... Dilsher is still very awkward ... Mala is silent.
Danveer introduces Maithili, Samrat and Sunehri to Mala ... just as though this was the most normal thing in the world to be happening. And then Mala goes to Mohini ... Mohini throws her out ... the mask is finally off.
As expected ... Mohini had a lot to do with Mala running away ... and she's furious that her fifteen year old plans, so carefully laid and carried out, have just collapsed around her feet.
Rudra's world is not the only one which shattered tonight!
Paro Mala ... Paro has based her entire viewpoint of the situation on her own experience of Mala ... a woman who could be so kind to a poor orphan girl, could not have left her child without a very good reason. And she knows that she was a substitute for Rudra all these years ... contrary to what Rudra firmly believed, Mala had not forgotten her son all these years.
Paro is probably right in her assessment ... judging by Mohini's soliloquy, more than probably right ... but some doubts, some questions would have been more understandable than this certainty.
Mala is still silent.
Rudra is Dilsher's son ... and Mala seems to have given her thoughtfulness to Paro ... Mala's silence held deep thought.
And tomorrow - Sumer returns. As far as Mohini is concerned, if Mala can be forgiven, why not Sumer?
Mohini never loses her capacity to think on her feet ... Carpe Diem ... Seize the opportunity!

So Mohini plotted, planned and ensured the ouster of Dilsher's family from the haveli.....wow!
ReplyDeleteBut why are we getting all of this at such supersonic speed?????
Thoda dheere se chalte.....toh mazah bhi aata..............here it feels like we are hurtling from one tangled web into another..........do they want to finish the serial by end of month?
Agree, Aki ... while I enjoyed the first Rudra outburst, I felt it came too soon ... there should have been a few moments while he absorbed exactly what his father was saying ...
DeleteHaving said that, this track is less rushed than some of the previous ones, and is sufficiently gripping. I liked Ashish today ... for once, his acting was less studied and rehearsed, and was much more spontaneous. His outburst when he folded his hands to Mala and told her sarcastically, welcome back, was awesome!
( Commented on today's episode on the previous post by mistake, so copy & pasted it here again! )
ReplyDeleteMohini ka Mausam bigad gaya! ;-) ;-))
Dia you were right, Mohini has played a big role in making sure that her sister was out of the haveli. But why the animosity? Yet to unfold I guess.
Rudra had all the right questions to his father today an answer to all of those will put him on a path of healing.
Being brought up in a loving and caring family, I cannot fathom how it must be for kids who don't have either one of the parent. Had a schoolmate in the past her parents were separated when she was little girl and her mother and grandmother had some unsavory words about her father to tell her and she used to vent it out with few of us. The thing I remember the most is the longing and sad look she used to give whenever she used to see my Dad dropping me to school everyday and her words how lucky I am that I have wonderful Dad who loves me and my mom unlike her cheating father!!
Sadly she did spiral downwards in her life later too. I guess adults sometimes forget in their bitterness towards their spouses that a child's mind is very delicate like a sapling if you don't nurture it right it won't yield you a good tree.
Also most of us had already guessed it before, Mala's entry paves way for Samrats too.
Not smarat, sumer, sorry ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis week, so far has been really good. This track is not progressing as fast as the other ones. Monday - Rudra meets his mother, Tuesday - Paro brings her sasu ma, Wednesday - Mala's intro to other members of the haveli. I like the way this track has progressed so far. I never underestimated Mohini as a trouble-maker. The character is so damn convincing, because it is well written and Ananya Khare is amazing as Mohini. No one could have pulled off Mohini, the way she is doing. A complex character (as complex as Rudra, I would say), a loving, yet strict mom to her kids, a greedy (and jealous?) sister, an ambitious woman, a daredevil, a control freak, manmaani.... I am just running out of words to describe her. The only flaw that I noticed in her characterization was her stupidity in the iron poisoning drama. She just seemed clueless as to whom to kill. Rudra or Parvati. Now that I understand Mohini's potential, I am actually getting scared of what her next move would be. According to the precap, Sumer is brought back to the haveli. But what next? And how long will it take for things to unravel? Rudra needs to understand the entire situation. Until that happens, I really hope he does not distance himself from Paro. And I fervently wish that the CVs don't bring Laila into the picture right now.
ReplyDeleteDia as usual love reading your daily takes. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteEnjoying RR. Story is gripping. So Mohini is the main villain, as expected. She is a smart player, the very next move was Sumer in haveli. Very dangerous player. Glad CV's are giving enough space for all the other characters, especially Paro. As Paro is supporting Mala without knowing her back story, it's necessary to give her perspectives. Mala's silence and Dilsher's guilt, makes me pin for their back story. Hope CV's do justice to their back story. Dialogues were too good yesterday.
Hectic day today ... sorry, couldn't reply to all here. Enjoyed everyone's takes ... I think the story has been very good this week, the flow has been crisp and well maintained. Just hope the cvs now pay more attention to Mala's emotions as well as Paro's ... they need to focus on the positive female characters.
