Rudra and Paro cuddle each other to sleep ... awww!!!
And now he wants Paro to himself ... no pesky momma interference please! Especially since his mommy has become worse than a MIL ... Paro seems more absorbed in her than in him ... which doesn't suit Rudra at all.
Paro handles her MIL and FIL ... Why is she bothered about getting them back together? Concentrate on your husband and sort out his mommy issues, that's fine ... leave the in-laws to sort out their lives on their own. They're adults, they can handle the mess they created ... or they should.
The reason for Mala leaving came out today ... she was an abused wife. Mohini's role in the drama is yet to be disclosed, but Dilsher's role is slowly emerging. No wonder the guilt in his eyes when he looks at Mala. Not only does he know the real reason she left, he also knows that he lied to his son for fifteen years about it. And is still lying ... Rudra's words to Mala were harsh, but Dilsher's slap was uncalled for ... if he is guilty.
Felt for Rudra today ... pleading to Paro to go away with him and give him a respite for a few days. She should say yes ... he needs the breathing space. This problem has been there for fifteen years, it won't go away in fifteen days. In the meantime, their relationship is new and fresh, it needs to be nurtured and strengthened.
But on the other hand, Rudra is doing it again, isn't he? Running away.
For Rudra, now Paro is all-important, his biggest strength, his biggest support. All he needs is Paro, all he wants is her ... the mother he has cried over for fifteen years, seems to be forgotten. Or is she? He was happy hating her ... he got used to living in that hatred ... now she's back, and he's having to re-evaluate his hatred, deal with the confusion between the picture of the runaway, unfeeling villainess mother, and this new loving, affectionate woman his wife loves. And worse, the woman his father claimed to hate all his life, yet today he is sitting and laughing over old memories with her. The two people he loves most in the world, are the two people who seem to be firmly on the side of the mother he hates.
And the KCM he hates seems to be the only one who shares his feelings towards his mother.
Rudra, if nothing else, that one fact should alert you to who is right and who is wrong.
So Rudra's outburst was justified ... Why are they all playing happy families here? And can 'that woman' please tell him when she plans to leave? Because leave she will, and he will be left to pick up the pieces. What will happen then? He can handle Paro, he will comfort her when Mala breaks her heart the way she broke his ... but who will comfort Dilsher? Can 'that woman' make up her mind what she wants? Does she want to be a Ranawat or a Tejawat ... or something else?
That's when Dilsher slapped him.
Yes, Dilsher couldn't stand to hear Rudra insulting Mala ... but it would be a bigger help if he told Rudra the truth about him and Mala. Mala is refusing to do so ... she doesn't want to shatter the trust Rudra has in the only parent he has known for fifteen years.
How long will Mala keep her silence? And how long will the truth be hidden from Rudra?
EDITED ... more or less the same points as above, elaborated.

The episode - good parts ...
PaRud cuddling in the beginning ... any doubts? Major sa is beginning to get over his anger more quickly ... he gets angry, but if Paro is there to calm him down, his anger dissipates ... especially if she shows him again and again that her priority is him and only him. He should be no. 1 on her list ... preferable no. 1-10. Everyone else comes at 11 and below.
The moment he falls below no. 1-10 on her list, he doesn't like it
Rudra drags Paro to their room and asks her what she has to say ... instead of talking about Mala, she asks him about his letter. Again related to above ... as long as Paro's world revolves around him, he's okay. That calmed him down visibly ... but then his frustration took over again.
I liked both Rudra and Paro in that scene ... I could understand Rudra's frustration and upset completely ... his desire to get away, get a breathing space ... empathised with him completely, and was mentally willing Paro to say 'Yes, let's go" ...
But I also understood Paro's POV ... he's running away again ... the understanding that flashed into her eyes when he spoke about getting away from it all ... till that point she was all excited and blushing about the honeymoon talk ... but at that point she realised it wasn't about him and her ... that elephant in the room was very much there. And so her refusal to go, while it hurt, made sense.
The so-so parts
The Mala-Dilsher-Paro first scene ... am not quite sure what Paro wants to achieve by getting Mala and Dilsher comfortable with each other. If she wants to get them back together, I'm not happy ... that's a matter between them, and she should leave it to them.
If she wants them to get comfortable enough to break their silence and talk to Rudra jointly, as HIS PARENTS ... NOT as a couple ... then I can understand. CVs need to give more clarity on this issue, and NOT make it all about Paro playing happy families, and Mala and Dilsher getting back together. Also if the marriage going sour was because of Mohini playing games, then that part needs to emerge faster ... although I believe a marriage breaks up because of the two people in it, blaming a third party is a cop out.
Mala and Dilsher are confusing the hell out of Rudra ... especially Dilsher ... the woman he spent the last fifteen years hating, he fed poison to Rudra about how untrustworthy she was ... why has he accepted her back so calmly ... why did he invite her back to the haveli at all?
I can understand Mala keeping quiet ... after realising what Dilsher has fed Rudra with, she probably doesn't want to spoil his image of the only parent he has known for the last fifteen years ... but in that case, how can she expect Rudra to accept her back, without knowing the full truth?
So both Mala and Dilsher are coming across as completely confused and clueless ... and poor Rudra is getting more and more confused in the bargain. That's why I feel that if Paro is doing this to get them to talk to Rudra, then I'm okay with her actions.
Mohini-Rudra ... while it's always good to see Rudra win the battle of words against Mohini, isn't Rudra going to wonder some day why the people he loves, vis Dilsher, Danveer and Paro, are all on Mala's side, and the one person he detests, and knows detests him, are against her? I would really like to see him ponder that one!
The not good parts
Dilsher slapping Rudra ... like really??!!! He spends fifteen years feeding his son lies that his mother walked out for another man, that she was characterless ... now when Rudra repeats his own words back to him, Rudra gets a slap?
Besides, no parent should slap their grown up child ... under any circumstances! And especially not in front of their spouse.
Hey Dia, ditto with respect to Rudra felt really bad for him. The guy is really in a bad place right now and a temporary honeymoon is not going to erase the whole history, but I think that's what he thinks it will do!
ReplyDeleteWell as for Paro, I sometimes feel she is pushing too much, saying so, she is right that if Rudra does not face the demons of his past they will never be able to fully enjoy their present nor their future, and calling out for mommy repeatedly in your sleep in the middle of the night, whether you are in a good relationship with your mom or not is not something any wife would like to hear!
But everything is happening so fast that it is not comforting.
Plus the scar on Mala's face in the picture and her explanation saying that it was an diwali accident, sounded to me like that was the classic line that an abuse victim says, like 'reason for black eyes' I slammed against the door by accident'. So does this mean she was in a abusive marriage? Even in the precap it seemed so, plus Dilsher did not look handicapped then. Will have to see how it plays out huh?
Liked your take by the way Dia. ;-)
MB ... agree, I felt bad for Rudra today ... but on reflection, even as I was writing, I felt that Paro was right in her place too ... edited the main post :)
DeleteHe's running away again ... refusing to face his demons, and they will keep playing on his mind. A honeymoon will be only a temporary respite ... but it will be a respite, and one that might help. So again, both are right in their place ... tough situation for both.
But I love the way that for Rudra, it's all about Paro now ... her heart will break, but he'll take care of her ... he wants to be with her, and try to forget about his mother ... when all along, he's been crying about his mom on Paro's shoulders ... poor Rudra is one confused soul!
Forgot to add ... yep, Mala was an abuse victim all right ... no wonder Dilsher feels guilty. And Dilsher must have been as bad tempered as Rudra in his youth ... and he took it out on Mala. Rudra is like his father in that respect, except he has never gotten physically abusive ... but he was very harsh with Paro in the beginning, borderline abusive.
DeleteHello Ladies.... Loved the first 3 minutes. :) :) :) After that, it was pretty much the same old drama. The older generation of the Ranawat family is getting on my nerves. No one seems to be in a hurry to tell the truth (atleast partial truth) to Rudra. The poor fellow is cracking from inside. This is what happens when children are exposed to family politics. They tend to form their own opinion, but parents want to tweak that opinion depending upon the situation. Like Dia pointed out, Dilsher cannot stand someone insulting his wife in front of him. So, he slaps Rudra. I wish he tells about his relationship with Mala. Yabbbbaaaa.... Rudra has one hell of a dominating parent. First, Dilsher poisoned his son's mind against Mala and now he wants him to play happy families. I am really getting impatient with this track. It has been two weeks since the track started (well, actually two days in the world of Rangrasiya), but Rudra doesn't know what had happened. Well, it is partly his fault that he is left in the dark. He let go of one opportunity when Mala was ready to open up.
DeleteAnother thought struck me, as I watched today's episode. Mala was a victim of domestic violence. Meaning Dilsher was hot tempered and dominating in his youth. Shouldn't Mohini be grateful that she escaped such a cruel fate? Mohini could have created differences between Mala and Dilsher. But Dilsher seems to be a person who never respected his wife and has always humiliated her. So, the problem starts from there. I just cannot imagine how Mohini and Dilsher would have managed to be under the same roof, if they had been a couple. If Mohini was the same person, she is now, her marriage with Dilsher would have been disastrous. Atleast Mala bore the pain for 10 - 15 years (I am still confused with the math!).
Well, let's wait and see what happens. I am just hanging on to some nice moments between Paro and Rudra. Mala seems to confide her secret to Paro. And Rudra hears it. Hope he lets her finish her story, this time, so that he can hear the truth for himself.
Ya you are right Dia. looks like Rudra did inherit some of his father's traits, but it looks like Mala was too nice a person may be she was what you say meek unlike Paro she does not allow or makes Rudra understand that its not the right way to be treat your own wife. That's what I love about Paro's character she may be from a small village, does not know English and all the other things that a city born and brought up modern girl would, but she shows that you need not be all of those to be strong willed, optimistic person who knows what she wants and gets them too!! ;-) Kudos to Sanaya for portraying it so well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update Dia. Have not seen the episode. Peeked at IF earlier today and there's talk about a negative lead? Do we have less negative characters in RR? How about moving away from negativity? Anyways - who do you think the negative character will be? Mala and Teju's son?
ReplyDeleteCan't be Archana, because Mala and Tejawat's son cannot be more than 14 years old. CVs probably have a new plot brewing. Funny that the one person who gave Mala happiness as a wife turns out to be a criminal while the man who treated her criminally, remains.
DeleteAh yes Aki - I did not do the math ;)
DeleteI think Tejawat has left the show, and Laila will also make an exit. Tarun Khanna got busy in other projects and Laila never really took off as a character, so they may be getting rid of her. And now that Paro and Rudra have confessed their love, Mohini can't do anything much to them. So they need a new villain. That's my guess ... let's see what happens. :)
ReplyDeleteWow - I hope that's true. I will be glad to see Laila gone. I did not like the actor who plays her. I heard she is good - maybe this vamp role is not her cup of tea. I do believe they messed up her character. They could have kept her character positive so that she gained sympathy. And then turned her negative. The negativity she brought did not help her or the character.
DeleteCouple important observations - why was Suneheri wearing those ugly shoes? And Disher's slap came even before the words came out of Rudra's mouth!
ReplyDeleteI did feel sorry for Rudra ( even tho I am a Paro pujaran;) and I agree, Paro should stop trying to get the parents together - stay out of it Paro. You have a big enough problem (read Rudra).
Like Madhu - i only liked the first 3 mins. The laughing between the parents made me nauseous. How can you forget so quickly? They seeemed to be at ease with each other.
Did love Rudra's comeback to KCM :)
Track is not moving for me :(
Let's see if it picks up this week.
And Dilsher should not have slapped Rudra. You don't slap adults in front of their spouse. Not done - however bad what Rudra said was. Now I can believe Dilsher was abusive - hope Paro realizes it too and stops pushing Mala towards him.
DeleteDia, After what the CVs did to Tejawat's character, I really do hope he has left the show - they massacred him totally!
ReplyDeleteLooking at Dilsher's expressions and reactions, I wonder if he himself did not throw Mala out in the middle of the night and then concocted the story of her leaving him so that he could shift the blame elsewhere. The poison he fed Rudra all these years is really his own guilt. For Mohini, adding fuel to the fire and then fanning it would have been the easiest task in the world since people like Dilsher, who have such low self esteem, are very susceptible to believing lies.
Trying to put the pieces of the story together... as much as we know.
ReplyDeleteMala ... trying to look at things from her POV ... she was in an abusive relationship ... she wanted to leave. She wanted to take Rudra with her ..She was thrown out, and not allowed to take him ... till this point, understandable.
She called Danveer a week later to check on Rudra. Probably this was to check that Rudra was not facing the brunt of Dilsher's anger. From Rudra's fbs, it seems Dilsher only abused Mala in private ... Rudra has no flashbacks of either his father hitting or getting angry with his mother ... and more important, none of Dilsher being angry or violent with him , till the point Dilsher dragged him out of the haveli, when he wanted to stay.
So did Mala feel that Rudra was safe with Dilsher ... at least till the time she found a place to stay and try to get him? And when she met Tejawat, and he gave her support, she returned to find Rudra ... but by then Dilsher had taken Rudra away.
But then, how is it she didn't tell Tejawat anything about her past, or the fact that she had a child? Major disconnect here.
Dilsher and Rudra were untraceable for fifteen years ... did Mala even try to trace them? We know Danveer kept in touch with Dilsher, kept trying to call him ... but Dilsher never took his calls ... that was shown in one of the earliest episodes. But Mala was married to an even more powerful man, could she not try to trace Dilsher and Rudra through Tejawat's network? Did Dilsher drag Rudra from city to city, whenevr he felt that Mala could trace him? We need to see all this, to show any sympathy for Mala at all ...
The biggest disconnect with her character is that she seems to have forgotten about her son for fifteen years.
Dilsher ... is a little more understandable ... but as I said before, his volte face has been too sudden and abrupt. Not talking about now ... but about since his return to the haveli. He was bitter until Rudra's posting to Birpur ... we saw Rudra return to get him and the father-son exchange was still caustic and bitter, with Dilsher remembering Mala's eyes, and saying he hated his son because he saw Mala's eyes everyday in his face.. So how did he suddenly change and melt overnight? It was not due to Paro ... he barely saw her, he has been good to her since the beginning ... IMO, that's the point they should have shown Dilsher's gradual change of heart ... they rushed that part completely ... as also his realisation as to the damage he has done to Rudra. If that had been slower, then his current turnaround to Mala would be a little more understandable.
I understand why he's called Mala back ... he heard Rudra and Paro's account of how Rudra chewed out Mala in the BSD office and hospital ... he sees how much anger Rudra still has towards Mala ... but does he realise that can impact Rudra-Paro's relationship and Rudra's future? And is that why he asked Paro to bring Mala back? Again, viewers need to SEE this ... it's all very well showing events from Rudra's pov, but since his pov is currently very imbalanced, it affects how we see all the other characters, and prevents any sympathy building up for them. Right now, we're only seeing Rudra's POV ... and his POV is CONFUSED ... and therefore, so are the viewers.
As far as I can see, Mala is in denial about how damaged her son is ... or she hasn't realised the extent.
DeleteDilsher is in denial about how much of the damage HE has caused ... and hence needs to repair ...
Both of them need to sit down and talk to Rudra about what went wrong between them. It may not make Rudra forgive either of them ... it may not make him WANT to forgive either of them ... but between them, the two have messed up Rudra completely ... and if they don't want their actions to impact his future, they need to tell him the full story. Not for their sake, not because they need forgiveness from him ... but because they are his parents, they have messed up his past ... and because they don't want to mess up his future. He is fortunate that he's got another chance at life and love with a spouse like Paro ... they do NOT want history repeating itself with unresolved anger issues in Rudra and Paro taking it all quietly ... not that she will.
Awesome awesome analysis Dia - love it.
