Why is Manthan so interested in property matters and the court case? Or was he trying to set up Manav?
Simple and Himanshu set up Manav ... Manav falls for their trick ... and in dirty vest, phatichar shorts and chappals, sets off in top gear to confess his love to Chhanchhan.
Chhanchhan seemed very shocked all through ... not surprising ... why did he climb a ladder, why the strange clothes, why at this time of night ... and then babbling what sounded like utter nonsense ... poor CC was flummoxed ... 'what the heck have I done?! And why exactly has this guy lost it?'
Song is nice ... but went on for too long for just one expression on the faces of CC-M... Manav/Farhan cannot do eye locks, he shouldn't even try ...

was watching the interview where Sanaya reads fan mail with team sarun and for the first time something she said didn't go down well with me..

Although it might be true on some level, especially to the people to whom this interview is addressed, but an actor is not supposed to say this onscreen...and this coming from Sanaya was surprising since she is the one who is so particular about everybody getting their own rights.. their might be people watching the show for Supriya Pathak and don't even know who Sanaya is.. the interview may be addressed to a small section of people, but its publicly available and on youtube and anybody curious has an access to this interview..
I felt this was totally, morally wrong of her to say something like this on television...because although the story IS about her, there are other people too in the show and they are working their asses off for it...it gave a very bad impression about her personality...
anyhow, she has never cared about what impression she gives around too, so eventually won't matter...but it was unfair for the other actors of the show for sure!

But I agree she could have avoided that statement because you never know anyone can feel bad even though she has no intention but this is sanaya we are talking about she has quiet a list of WTF statements rolf and she has a habbit of talking without thinking much which always lands her in trouble jhalli hai bilkul *I need a head desk emoticon*
Mads, I am Uma, and I agree with what you wrote, but I think Sanaya said that without thinking, in reaction to what the fan had written and addressing fans of Sarun. I agree, it came out a bit callous, and that is what I think it is, otherwise, as you said she is quite mindful of her colleagues.
DeleteIn the interview, I also felt that she has some inkling about the word out there, about the show, that it is not yet generating much interest,and many of her fans are giving it time and chance because she is in it. I felt she said it in that context. The way she expressed it did not come out right.She later added that the show is in a different genre to what her fans are used to.
She does say what comes to mind, and sometimes it comes out wrong and lands her in pickle. The intention, at least to me, did not seem like she was negating her colleagues.

DeleteI thought it was perfectly fine. She was addressing HER fans who are watching the show JUST FOR HER...so that reassurance was necessary. And San fans are watching the show just 4 her.
If she was at an Award show or the launch of the serial and said it, I'd have called it callous. This was her trying to reassure her fans...
Also loved the way she blamed Barun in jest for IPK ending, and said he is going to kill her...

Su, that's what I am saying..I know it was addressed to a small section of audience, namely, her fans from IPK days, but that doesn't mean that other people cannot watch it too! There's a difference between saying the truth as it is and saying it in a way that may demean others, even if your intention isn't so.. I always admired Sanaya for being able to maintain a balance between these two. She never crossed that thin line where she might hurt others' feelings and I thought this was certainly one of her unique gifts.
DeleteWhen she got all emotional and lashed out against IPK fans for wanting to end IPK, that was still not tactful, but considerable and understanding, since she had been working her ass off for the show, shouldered the entire responsibility for so long, got nothing in retun and yet, her show got shut down...plus the interview was taken just after the show was announced to be shut down, nobody was aware and all of them were emotional and she didn't have enough time to calm herself.. all her interviews thereafter she had been very calm throughout...
Also when she made a comment abt not being comfy with farhan that was still fine, since they are new and will take some time to be comfy with each other.. plus the PH doesnt know how to write a love story, so the scenes are so poorly written adding to his average acting and if reports are true abt him taking a lot of time to give one shot, then no wonder everybody is pissed off at him..plus it didn't create that much of a stir because FK hasnt garnered any fans at all..I am sure if he had some fans there would have been an uproar at this statement of hers..
This interview was not taken at a point where she had just recieved a bad news or anything though and was a normal question abt the fate of her show...so the statement was totally uncalled for in my opinion..she could have done without mentioning that...I don't doubt her intentions one bit..she has tremendous respect for all the crew members right from spot boy to her coactors..but she could have left it at 'I promise it will get more entertaining in the future'.. instead of mentioning that they watch the show only for her.. that didn't go down well at all... she has managed to grow more and more diplomatic over the years, I think she still has a long way to go..esp if she has to stay long in this industry.. :)
anyhow, I guess its my fault.. I apotheosized her to an extent that I believed her to be free of any faults whatsoever...but that is certainly not the case..she is just another human being after all, but an adorable one at that! :)

DeleteI agree with Uma, Su and nb here ... this interview was by Team Sarun, and was for the IPK fans ... she knows IPK fans are watching CC mainly for her, otherwise they wouldn't touch what seems like a saas bahu story or family drama ... they are the love story types. so I didn't feel it was really out of place here .. if it had been on a public forum, or an interview about the show, then yes, it would have been out of place. In the Noreen Khan interview and in the Raj Baddhan one, she hasn't said anything of the sort, she explained her reasons for taking up CC, that was all.
And I think she is also aware of the lukewarm response so far ... and about the glitches in the execution ... she is also hoping it gets better, especially after she has a better actor across her. She said very clearly that when she works with a good actor (talking about Supriya) then she feels good, that she's accomplished something and enjoyed her work.
Plus she has always been bindaas and a bit muhphat ... she has matured a lot over the last two years, especially when she was de facto spokesperson of her previous show .... but she is still the same politically INcorrect girl at times! No one can be perfect ... neither is she!

ReplyDeleteSeriously Why FK has this *I am creepy and I know it expression* its pretty disturbing for me as a viewer. You know the day promo was out my mom was constantly laughing and I am sure this was not the reaction you expect after a confession.
I feel makers are not taking CC seriously they lack in every department and are not paying attention to criticism seriously I am so disappointed with Sony as well as CC makers.
I don't know but I feel this show will not work more than 4 months and to be honest Supriya Pathak and Sanaya cannot save this show because people watch show for story not for actors. Actually I don't mind if that happens Sanaya can go for a long break and can comeback with a good channel because Sony cannot manage daily soaps they are better with crime and comedy shows. Sanaya deserves better yaar :(

DeleteI am soo sure she is not happy with the show right now I mean I don't see the same excitement that I saw during IPK initial days. I guess what is being executed is not same as she was narrated and that's why she is not satisfied no wonder she compares each and everything with IPK team be it her co-stars or the show. I mean she never compared MJHT with IPK and never talked about her MJHT team during IPK but while doing CC she is missing IPK and everything related to it says a lot doesn't it.
Her views regarding FK that he is just a co-star not a friend reminded me her mjht interview where she said the same for didi lol I guess she doesn't like him and I don't think she will like him in future also well I don't blame her my views regarding FK is similar that's why he is on my hitlist these days lol.

DeleteA week before last, around Puch Puch's birthday I thought the show is settling in, I even wrote here that I feel this whole thing will work after all.
From last week, however, I am again having this feeling of "something is unfinished" and "something is missing" in each episode.
FK's acting, screenplay, music, dialogues,editing all are falling short. It has been almost one and half months now and still I get the feeling that they are making up the story and scenes as they are moving along.
Himanshu's interview in IF and now TS interview of FK has revealed how sudden and hasty the recruitment process was. FK's interview have increased my worries about this PH, he casually goes to audition and gets chosen for a lead role with Sanaya! That is how much thought they have put in. No screen test and look test with Sanaya!?!
I get the impression the channel and PH had some vague story idea, and once they were able to get Sanaya on board, they just hurriedly got the rest of the cast and thought while IPL is on, they will get their act together. Meantime Sanaya and Supriya will pull in the audience.

DeleteThe PH must have narrated something of interest to Sanaya and Supriya to have them sign this show, but execution is falling short. They would not have counted on the fact that their ML will turn out so bad. He has no screen presence and the less said about his acting the better. To add to their woes, the audience is not ready to overlook him.
Now, so many expectations are being built around Uma Ben and CC scenes after marriage, and if the execution flounders again, this hype will backfire. Actors may do a good job but writing and direction should also be sharp.
Sanaya did seem a bit subdued in her enthusiasm...have a feeling she has a fairly good idea about the lukewarm reception her show is getting, and this is her first ML with whom she is so distant.
Coming to today's episode the confession by Manav was better than what I had anticipated after seeing the promo. I was bracing myself for a cringe worthy scene, it was not that bad.
Sanaya looked gorgeous in white and her expressions were nice. Have to say FK just brings down all the scenes, and makes them very passe. He maybe sincere about his job and working hard but he is NO GOOD! And to think he will be hovering around Chhanchhan, as her husband, till the end of the show! Chhanchhan forum being so dull on confession day, says it all.
All these glitches surprise me, as PH is an experienced one. They seem to be caught on the wrong foot!
I want this show to do well. I will watch it till the last episode for Sanaya and now Supriya, but my patience is running out with PH and channel. They don't seem to care about any of the feedback or low TRPs.
BTW, I don't like their weekend comedy show. Most sketches, barring a few, are crass, OTT and there is too much physical humor, with slapping and kicking, and boy are they LOUD!

DeleteWhen they announced Sanaya as a dog trainer, the expectations were different for a viewer like me.
I was rooting for something like the J Lopez- Jane Fonda starrer, 'Monster- in- law' - an Indian adaptation of that. I think it is still that, going by the manipulative mother Uma Ben is...
They have neglected the dogs...esp with Pooch Pooch's B'day Party- I felt a lot could have been done with the dogs- all they had was an introduction of the dogs. They should have made up some comic situations involving the dogs- another misadventure that brings Chan Man closer...even something simple like one of the dogs getting frightened by a small fire or something and ChanMan to the rescue...All that potential going waste!
Ditto with an earlier scenario from the show where CC introduces her dogs- it looked really weird that she was introducing them to her best friend- they could have had a kid straying into her house after a ball, getting chased down by her dogs, the kid retaliating later, CC getting him to be friends with all the dogs and teaching him to handle the dogs gently- could have gone on for one full episode, instead of limiting to just one scene...
And my grouse right from the beginning...they have not concentrated on the family- they are all good actors, esp the mother- she is simply reduced to parading around in a saree- there is so much more they can do with CC's family...
After having watched SBS, I am surprised how the same PH can handle a family show so loosely! They seem to be simply groping around.
I am a disappointed customer, for now.
Sanaya had better make them pull up their socks!

DeleteActually all the scenes were good, except for the Chan Man scenes, for me.
Sanaya looked very pretty in – she should get an Oscar for emoting so well opposite a statue!:D
And even that Himanshu fellow- he excels in those scenes, can quite hold his comic expressions opposite Manav's blank expressions...I feel bad for him. His scenes get ruined too.
Uma Ben- rocking as usual. It helps that she does not have scenes with Manav. Manthan is so slimy...looking good.
Enjoyed the ladder scene. Manav was going to take the ladder and walk in thru the door!

ReplyDeleteok, that's it..I take back EVERY SINGLE WORD about farhan improving!!! Even the guy selling saaris in that shop yesterday was a better actor than him yaar! :((
His "mera dil toot gaya hain" and walking behind towards the latter reminded me of those endless guys on whom I have laughed because they cannot act to save their lives! He is beyond pathetic!! :(((
And the PH CANNOT write love stories, they should NEVER attempt in the future too!! :( the first scene in today's epi put me off so much that I still have to recover and make myself watch the rest of the epi...
Mads, ditto here ... but the rest of the episode was MUCH better, believe me!
