29/8 - Epi 174 ... Deja Vu - I Demand Forgiveness

Friday 29th August

Quick update today ... basically deja vu episode about Rudra asking ... no, demanding forgiveness ... and Myrah using the opportunity to teach him some social skills as well as some home truths. Wonder how the latter will pan out, though ...

Myrah sorts out Samrat Maithili's fight by dressing up Maithili ... deja vu again ... and from the precap, another deja vu on its way.

Rudra, from ferocious snarling tiger, becomes bheegi billi ... running after Myrah for forgiveness through most of the episode ... deja vu again. In between, he finds the time to rescue her suitcase, and warns the trio to stay away from trying to make Myrah into Paro. Sumer agrees ... by making Myrah dress up as Paro, they won't accomplish anything.

Myrah Rudra Dhruv - Myrah Rudra sounded like husband wife in that scene.

Rudra records his sorry in Myrah's videocam ... Myrah is not impressed. Not good enough. Deja vu.

Last scene - Rudra corners Myrah and asks ... no, demands her forgiveness. And he will do anything for it. Deja vu again.
Myrah tells him to name three qualities she has, which are different from Paro. Trying to demonstrate that she is not Paro.
Will that backfire? Apart from the English speaking, and the stronger tendency to fight back and not take Rudra's rudeness lying down ... in many ways, Myrah is very similar to Paro.
Maybe that's because she is Paro.

  1. Hello ladies,

Didn't watch yesterday's episode. Not sure about watching today's episode. Part of the reason is that I am not keeping well. Another reason is that the CVs are just tweaking the characters, so that they can bring many deja vus. The Rohit guy is also on the way. Looks like there is going to be a love triangle. Just the sound of it, creeps the hell out of me. I thought that the show will be on air for a maximum of 3 weeks, so that I could finish watching the entire show. I am no longer able to show much interest in the show. I seriously don't understand why Rudra tries to pin Myrah to the wall, just to talk to her. He did that to Paro, because he thought she was a part of the fake baraat (Though that does not justify his behaviour!). Now, he is in his mid-thirties, a matured guy, father of a seven year old kid. I call him matured, because of the way he deals with Dhruv. He was not so patient with his cousin Sunehri, nine years back. And why would any guy behave like this with a young girl (who is virtually a stranger) who is in her mid-twenties? His actions don't add up. He can be angry with Myrah, but not the way he was in the wednesday's episode. And Myrah... God knows what she has seen in him. The girl is dumb. Bas.

I have not given up on the show. Will try to watch it over the weekend.

  2. Madhu - I know how you feel. I have not watched yesterday's or today's episode. Just can't get myself to watch them. I am not sure where the story is going and I just don't want Myrah not to be Paro and Rudra falling for her. To me her being so deeply in love with Rudra, so quickly does not make any sense at all.
Dia - I can't tell you how much I appreciate you writing your analysis day after day - here and in IF. Kudos to you!

  3. Dia: Thanks for letting me share my views in your space. I am sure I wouldn't have this liberty in IF. Probably, I will have the freedom to do it, but not without consequences. The TRPs have been really good last week. And the show has run for 4 out of 5 days. This must serve as a reality check for the channel which is very careless towards its fiction shows. Also, the pathetic fact is that the TRP audience likes OTT antics, loud voices (and actions), rude / insensitive heroes, dumb / brainless / airhead heroines, kids who don't behave their age and I could go on. RR 2.0 is still enjoyable despite having all of the above mentioned elements. Alright... let the CVs show whatever makes the TRP audience happy.

Just trying to increase the forum activity. No one had commented yesterday. Morning Breeze, Aki, Kiran, Ratna, and everyone else.... please chip in. And belated Vinayak Chathurthi to all of you!

  4. @ madhu, morning breeze, ratna, aki, dia et al,
honestly have not watched this whole week
a: the story is not really progressing: we knew Myrah would find out about Paro but the back and forth between rudra and myrah is just boring...in my opinion anyway, i feel no motivation to watch,
i remember at the time of the first wedding in March I was rushing to read the live updates dying to know what happened next and now it all has fizzled for me :( I think once we see a connection between myrah and paro or a definitive NO THIS IS NOT PARO (which would be insane) then the spark will come back for me and i'll be intrigued,
b: the show ending is just killing it for me, i remember when i learned IPK was ending, i felt that Shilpa story and Aarav and the Mrs India track:...again just couldn't muster the energy to watch it,
Probably will catch up this weekend though, Dia, hats off to you for your awesome updates :)

  5. Just watched the last two episodes of the week. They were ok. Like I said before, the CVs don't understand their own creations. I don't like what they are doing to Rudra's character, in particular. I mean, they could have kept him intact, as he is the only reminder of RR 1.0. Another deja vu waiting for us next week. One of my favourite scenes in RR. I still remember the old scene in which Mohini blasts Maithili for speaking about adoption. Ananya was at her best in that episode. The way she slams the table before getting up from the chair and then proceeding to Maithili to give her an earful. It was just awesome. That episode ended with Rudra taking Mohini's slap. That particular sequence alone spoke about the essence of many characters. Maithili's longing to be a mother, Mohini's dominating nature, Paro's loyalty, and Rudra's protecting nature. Let's see how the second version turns out.

@Kiran: I agree with you. The story is not progressing. And I don't like Myrah and Rudra constantly bickering like kids. If the CVs are trying to show Myrah as the innocent one and Rudra as the unreasonable person, it is not sitting well with me. In my POV, the current situation is due to stupidity of Rudra, Myrah and Maithili. Rudra and Maithili should have told Myrah about Paro in the very beginning. And Myrah should not have forced her way into their haveli in the first place. Or she should have left the haveli when she found that the kids are trying to pair her with Rudra. Hmmm... At this point, I no longer care if Myrah is not Paro. Not that I don't want her to be Paro. But I am not able to understand where the CVs are taking the story. The only thing I know is that it is going to be a 'happily ever after' ending. It would make sense if Rudra had some clues about Myrah being Paro and he is trying to figure out the entire truth about Myrah's existence. There were lot of opportunities in RR 2.0 as well. But I think the CVs just want to go the usual route of love triangle. Let's wait and watch.

  6. Final confirmations from Geetanjali Mishra (Maithili) that RR is ending ... wraps on 19th Sept, last day of shoot is 10th Sept.

Poor Sanaya, again her birthday is not under the happiest circumstances ... on the other hand, if rumors are to be believed, this might be good for her after all. :)

Sorry for not replying here, girls ... hectic weekend, maid on leave, husband at home ... adds up to no time on laptop ;) Also, am losing interest in the story ... when there is a love story brewing, and all the viewers are rooting for it NOT to happen, you know the makers have gone very wrong somewhere. I strongly feel they went wrong when they tried to show the hero as being always right, and the heroine always backing the wrong people ... that works in movies, but not on TV, where a strong FL is a prerequisite for the show to work. And also the lopsided story telling worked against them ... too much emphasis on Rudra and his pain, and the resolution of that pain was so shallow and half-hearted ... as though they were scared to show that Rudra was wrong about his mother all along.

Anyway, all water under the bridge now ... I'm watching just for Sanaya for the next three weeks ... won't even try to analyse the story too much, because I don't think the makers are putting much thought into it to analyse. They're just repeating the PaRud story in a modern setting ... but it doesn't work in a modern setting ... Rudra doesn't work in a modern setting, the way they're portraying him, and a modern, educated Myrah forcing her way into his house, and then falling in love with a man like that doesn't work at all, however airy-fairy they made her at the start.

Having said that, the show is still watchable purely for the acting ... 3 of the last 5 episodes have been intense, and really made me wonder WHY the show is going off air, when so much crap survives for far longer. Hats off to the actors for bringing such a mediocre script to life.

Belated Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all ... may Lord Vinayak remove all obstacles in your life and smoothe your path ahead always.
