The intensity was back today ... quite a decent episode.
Starts with Myrah playing a prank on Rudra ... a prank that goes wrong ... a prank that wasn't in good taste to start off with.
However, I giggled throughout at Mohini's expressions during the song ... and how the entire family was convinced Paro was back haunting the haveli ... they all seemed convinced Paro was back. And the actual explanation, when it presented itself was so simple.
Nope, Myrah didn't wreck the recording of Paro's voice, nor did she tamper with it.
She merely ... played it.
With a few additions, like creating a haunting atmosphere, flitting between the shadows of the curtains ... simple, but effective.
If she hadn't been Paro's carbon copy, and Rudra already disturbed by the fact, it wasn't a nasty prank, merely a naughty one. Except that one doesn't usually play a prank like that on one's hosts ... maybe one does if one is a hot-tempered young girl, who's been consistently rubbed the wrong way by a very grumpy guy, who insists on thinking the worst of one, for reasons she can't fathom. And who acts without thinking of anything except the need to get back at him, for laughing at her discomfort earlier in the day.
Since I did not like Rudra laughing at Myrah for that incident either, I can sympathise with her ... but only up to a point.
Of course Rudra was deeply disturbed ... Myrah didn't understand why, instead of snapping at her for her prank, he was struck dumb, as though he had heard a ghost ...
It was left to Dhruv to explain ... and Myrah was contrite immediately.
But too late ... Rudra walked off without a word, and Maithili was extremely upset as well. The two people who loved Paro the most, were the most hurt by the prank.
It was left to Samrat to point out ... and Mohini to agree ... that it wasn't completely Myrah's fault ... she had hurt Rudra out of ignorance. She didn't know the real reason Rudra was so disturbed ... no one had told her. And Mohini added that it was time people stopped this silly hiding of facts, and told the girl the truth.
Myrah does try to apologise to Rudra ... she is really upset at having hurt him ... that wasn't her intention. But Rudra is fixed in his anger ... and in his opinion of her. Apology not accepted.
And Myrah finds herself in tears again. She's really sorry for hurting him.
Dhruv and Koel are upset ... no way Myrah and Rudra can stay together ... they are always fighting. But Dhruv points out to Koel, her parents are always fighting too ... yet they're together. So there is hope.
Sumer starts a new business ... water business. So water at home is finished.
Must say, he's enterprising ... three days rent money put to immediate use!
Next day, Maithli making laddoos for Janamshtami with the kids ... telling them stories about Krishnaji and Radha ... much to their amusement, they learn that Radha Krishna used to fight too. More hope.
Myrah strolls in, and helps herself to a laddoo ... one look at Maithili's grim unsmiling face, and she puts it back and tries to make amends with another apology.
She wants help with the theme for her wedding ... Maithili is not very interested ... but Shatabdi is happy to help ... the more expensive and ostentatious, the better. Myrah isn't too interested ... but is too polite to say what she really thinks of Shatabdi's choice ...
Rudra is asked for his opinion ... and he takes the opportunity to blast off, and give Myrah a few home truths about weddings, spending money on weddings, and the true meaning of marriage.
Anf of course, goes completely overboard ... especially considering the circumstances of his own marriage ... the hate wedding and the forced pheras ... and the amount of spending he enjoyed making KCM do for all the ceremonies for a wedding he had no intention of going through with. So all his talk about marriage being a union of souls and not a matter of spending money, sounded very hypocritical ... he seems to have as big a memory loss as Paro/Myrah.
Dhruv and Koel are distressed ... even Maithili and Shatabdi feel he's going way too far ... and Myrah's eyes fill with tears at his vitriolic outburst ... after a couple of futile attempts to protest, she leaves without a word.
Rudra has no idea of Myrah's past or family ... he was as much out of line for this outburst, as she was for her prank.
Myrah upset ... Dhruv and Koel come in to cheer her up ... these kids are really cute.
The girl playing Koel is awesome.
And they succeed in making Myrah smile ... though her eyes remain sad.
And when they leave, she mentally apologises to Rudra again. She really didn't mean to hurt him.
Even though he hurt her a lot.

Wouldn't it be nice if, like her prank, Myra's role is simply to give Rudra closure and she drives away into the proverbial sunset with her fiance, Rohit? Her pranks, his amused look, her ghantis and his hurt & annoyance all need a closure.
ReplyDeleteYelo, 'ulta chor kotwal ko daante', why is Rudra giving Myra a lecture on marriage, that only love and two soul mates are enough to get married, dude did you forget that you married Paro in a drunken stupor and vowed to make her life hell and what not, Paro sure was excited hearing all that, its so much better than a destination wedding, right?!! ;-/
ReplyDeleteHe was simply being mean to Myra, just wanted to get back at her for unintentionally hurting him by playing Paro's song and scaring him.
Samrat was right, if she knew the whole truth, she will understand their situation better, she is not a bad person afterall- but then if all that happens so easily, how will the story move forward, hai na? ;-)
Mohini face was worth looking,LOL, poor lady thought that Paro was haunting them all!!!!! :-))
Is there more to Myra's history?, she keeps repeating to Rudra, that he does not know anything about her, and she gets really upset when she cries, reminding herself not to cry- is this just her life's principle or there is more story to this?
LOL ... honestly ... I didn't like Myrah's prank at all, she was totally out of line ... but I forgot my sympathy for Rudra when he went off on that long rant ... pot calling the kettle black much?!
DeleteHe had no problem spending Mohini kakisa's money on all the rituals, just to get back at her ... how is that any better than a rich man spending his own hard-earned money on his own daughter's wedding? Far worse, in fact ... we had this discussion a while ago among friends, and while we all didn't particularly care for the ostentatious weddings these days, we accepted that they provide employment to a lot of people ... so something good does come out of them.
I am keeping fingers crossed that cv's have a good back story for Myrah ... she keeps repeating to Rudra that he doesn't know anything about her ... girl, then tell him!!! And I hope there is something more to tell him, other than that she is a rich girl marrying her best friend because her parents want her to. So far, that's all we know about Myrah.
Couple of weeks back, we were watching a Shiva-Parvati equivalent love story. Now, we are all set for Radha and Krishna. Looks like the CVs are going to make Myrah fall for Rudra. I really wish that Myrah is in fact Paro. I mean... there is no logic as to why she should fall for him, if she is not Paro. Both Rudra and Myrah are constantly bickering and it is getting on my nerves. Rudra hated (atleast pretended to hate) Paro. But they were there for each other in all situations. Even if the narration was hurried, we know that there is a reason as to why they ended up together. But in Myrah's case, only the so-called hatred part is there. The CVs are mixing Khushi and Paro here. Khushi always annoyed ASR. Myrah does the same to Rudra. But she cares or realizes that she cares for Rudra. Why? Because she likes Dhruv? Doesn't make sense. Will have to wait and see if Rudra falls for Myrah. Myrah realization of feelings for Rudra will look much more idiotic that Paro's realization. And I think it is high time, the CVs showed Myrah's story. Because she keeps on repeating that Rudra doesn't know anything about her. Agreed. So CVs, please show someone from her end. I am not sure if I got it right. People are divided in their opinions about Myrah. Some like her and some don't. Paro had a bad past. Though her feelings were not shown explicitly, the knowledge of her past was sufficient to connect with her at some level. But, that is not happening with Myrah. At this point, I am somehow convinced that Myrah has a baggage (?). But what it is about? I think it is important for the viewers to know atleast a little about her past to connect with her. And there are some people who like Myrah, only because she is Sanaya Irani. I mean... just imagine some other actress doing Myrah's role. She would have been bashed from all corners.
ReplyDeleteThe rant above is just the effect of the precap. The main part is yet to come.
That was the most cheesiest prank, one could play on someone. Lookalike or not. Whatever sympathy I had for the Myrah female had vanished after watching the prank. Agreed. She didn't know about Rudra's wife. But, she wanted to get back at him. And she comes up with the most innovative idea of the century to scare him. I wonder how people would react if their guests start behaving like this. Because Myrah not only invited herself, but made herself at home on day one itself. Maithili was damn right. Myrah is a guest, so she should try to remain a guest always. Let me do something like this, the next time I stay at someone's place. I am sure I will be thrown out of their house for the pains I took to scare my hosts. Samrat was right. It is high time, someone told Myrah about Paro. Who is going to do that and when?
The wedding theme selection conversation really amused me. Shathabdhi asks Myrah to assume Rudra as her groom. Just to get his opinion or in general, a guy's opinion. I think everyone in the Ranawat house except Maithili has no sensibility left in their dimaag. And her careless suggestion triggers Rudra, who performs a thandav. That was another amusing scene to watch. The pot calling the kettle black! I concur with his point that Myrah is a spoilt brat, but his dialogues about marriage were totally uncalled for. He, of all the people is giving advice about marriage. Ayyyooo.... Shivane......
Now the kids are at work. Tried to pacify an upset Myrah. And they are successful. If they are the reason, why Rudra and Myrah are inside a locked room, then it is even more crappier than the 'mirchi in the dal' idea. It was a good episode to watch. Like I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, there are a few things I don't like about RR2. Yet, I am watching it because of the cast. Everyone is so convincing in their act that one tends to overlook minor discrepancies. If this is what brings TRPs to the show, I guess it is ok. After all, I am not contributing anything to the show in terms of TRP.
Myrah was out of line for sure ... but so was Rudra ...
DeleteWhich employee dares to tick off his employer like this ... without knowing any of the facts about her? I am presuming that Rudra is still Myrah's bodyguard ... of course, we don't see him doing any guarding at all, so that part is also up for question. His rant was completely out of line ... and going by his background story of his wedding, also very hypocritical ... at his time, he had no problem spending lavishly on all the rituals for his wedding, which he didn't even plan to happen ... because it wasn't his own money, it was KCM's. And now he has the cheek to tell Myrah she is superficial and spoiled because she wants a lavish wedding? Did he know the meaning of marriage and vows when he dragged Paro around the fire in a drunken stupor ... and now he lectures Myrah on marriage being a union of souls? I lost all sympathy for him during that rant of his.
Myrah played a prank ... it was pretty harmless ... the kind of prank one would play on good friends. That was her mistake ... these are not her good friends, these are people she is staying with on sufferance because they have no choice. Hence the prank is out of line. Not because of the prank itself ... but because of the circumstances. And I'm not talking about the significance of the song ... that I can excuse, because she doesn't know the significance.
The problem with RR2 is that so far both the protagonists are not very likeable. They are both being obnoxious to each other ... one out of ignorance and immaturity, and one out of his own bitterness ... he is actually coming across as very prejudiced and narrow-minded, rather than grief stricken. Let's see if this works with TRP junta ... I am usually not in synch with TRP aunties, so maybe it just might.
I don't know how many of you will buy this story. This is my version of Rudra - Myrah dastaan. Paro is alive and she has survived the bullet shot (Yes! I do want Paro back and I am letting the CVs decide what they have to do to bring Paro back). Now she is Myrah without any awareness of her past life. Rudra somehow finds out that she is in fact Paro who has suffered a memory loss. Now, it will be Rudra's turn to make her love him. Let him do the work this time. I mean, how many times will the girls fall in love with the boys? Almost every serial has a similar plot. For a change, I would like to see this happening. As such, the current situation is very delicate. I hope the CVs handle it carefully. I just don't want Myrah falling for Rudra and looking like a dumb lovesick fool and Rudra eventually falling for Myrah, because he (and the CVs) have no other choice.
ReplyDeleteI spent some time last night on a couple of threads on IF arguing the same point. Myrah has to be Paro ... because otherwise I really don't think Myrah and Rudra are well matched in any way. Apart from being immature and a bit careless, she is a nice person ... while Rudra comes with baggage of widowerhood, a child, and a mountain of baggage of guilt, bitterness, grief etc ... on top of which with her face, Rudra will never forget paro, Myrah will always be second best for him ... so why does Myrah need a guy like him at all? Doesn't she deserve a guy who will put her first, love her for herself, and not because she reminds him of his first wife?
DeleteAnd why would Rudra, lost in love for Paro, want to marry again, that too a girl who reminds him of Paro? Wouldn't that reinforce his grief every time he looked at her face? He would never be able to move on in the true sense.
I don't want Myrah falling for Rudra at all this time ... I want it the other way around ... Rudra has to do the running this time. For one, I don't see any reason why Myrah should fall for him at all ... she might respect him, admire him for his love for his dead wife, even like him as a person ... but love? He is really nothing that great to fall in love with ... he was wonderful for Paro because he protected her despite hating her, misunderstanding her ... but Myrah doesn't need him in any which way so far.
Dia, you are asking the CVs to write in self-respect.
