Friday 1st August
Day of shocks for father and son ...
First Dhruv meets up with a woman ... no, girl ... who looks exactly like his mother. So exactly like her, that Dhruv believes she IS his mother ... he asked for his mother back as his birthday wish ... and he got her back.
How simple and beautiful a child's mind is!
Rudra tells him, as gently and firmly as possible ... that the girl cannot be his mother ... it's impossible. But little Dhruv is not quite convinced.
The very next day ... to his utter and complete shock ... Rudra meets the very same girl. A ghost?! Or Bholenath playing a cruel joke on him and his son?
Nice episode again ... the pace could be slower, but not complaining. Starts with Dhruv apologising to Rudra again for making him angry ...Rudra has to reassure him that no, he's not angry ... but Dhruv isn't sure ... so he and Koel try to make Rudra smile ... cute bro-sis duo!
Mohini comes in to scold Koel for blabbing to her parents ... Dhruv exhibits the first of his father's traits (also his mother's) ... protecting those he loves.
Rudra takes the kids to school ... disappears on the way on a phone call ... Koel walks ahead, while Dhruv stops to tie his shoelace. And so Dhruv is alone when Myrah, wandering through the market, having cheerfully hoodwinked her uncle, trying on men's turbans, loses her own hat ... saved by Dhruv.
She stops to thank him with cheerful smiles ... Dhruv stares as though struck by lightening.
And calls her mummy.
Myrah is horrified ... is her turban so bad?!
He calls her mummy again ... Myrah, a little panicky, reassures him, takes the turban off, and looks around desperately for the mother of this poor child, who she inadvertantly scared so badly with her turbanned look.
Koel comes back to pull Dhruv to school ... Myrah decides she doesn't want to buy such a scary turban after all.
And bumps past Rudra as he crosses her in the marketplace.
Later at night, Dhruv tries to tell Rudra he saw his mother ... Rudra tells him firmly it can't be so ... because she's gone for ever ... and to himself, he adds ... it's all his fault.
Poor Rudra, living under that burden of guilt every single day, every single moment ... he failed to protect Paro.
Next morning, chirpy Myrah chatting to her parents gaily ... completely ignoring the waiting security officer appointed by her uncle ... or rather, assuming he can't be on time ... Indians never are.
Untrue ... this one is ... and he's getting more and more annoyed every minute he waits ... informed by turbanned peon that 'Madam is on international call' ...
Finally Rudra loses it and walks off, dropping his wallet ... just as Myrah decides she might be wrong, and it might be a good idea if she checks out whether the guy has arrived or not ...
To find that he came ... and left ... so she runs after him ... finally calling out his name ...
'Rudra!'
And Rudra turns ... and sees ... a ghost from his past ... his Paro ...
And she confirms the resemblance by running to him, tripping and almost falling ... just in time for him to catch her .. just like Paro.
But how can that be??!!!
This girl talks ... and talks ... and talks ... in pure unaccented English ... she smiles, she laughs, no trace of shyness ...
Rudra stares shocked, as Myrah babbles on apologetically ... then can't take it any more ... and turns and runs ... leaving a baffled Myrah ... she said she was sorry ... five to ten times, if not more ... why this strange reaction?!
Dhruv tries to convince Maithili ... he did see his mother ... Maithili nods ...
Dhruv tries harder ... he asked for his mother in his birthday wish ... he prays to Bholenath to send his mother back ... Bholenath listened to him, and sent her ... why does no one believe him?
How simple and wonderfully clear a child's mind is!
Maithili tells him firmly ... Paro can't come back. But she lives on in him, Dhruv ... in his eyes, his smile, his laughter ...
Rudra ... and memories ... Paro promising that their love is lifelong, is ordained, is forever ... love is strong, it can move mountains ... Paro laughing, Paro loving him ...
Then why?! Why did Paro's Bholenath take her away from everyone she loved, and who loved her? She, who had so much faith in Him, in love, in hope, in laughter ... why did He take her away? Paro, who taught Rudra to love, to live again ... first He took her away, and now He's playing a cruel joke on Paro's innocent son.
Precap ... Rudra tells Maithili he too, saw the girl Dhruv saw ... Dhruv hears Rudra.
I cannot see Rudra falling for Myrah ... I see him running away from her as fast and as far as he can. I cannot see Myrah falling for Rudra either, as of now ...
But I do see a bond developing between Myrah and Dhruv ... where will it take Myrah and Rudra?

CAUTION: For those who haven't watched the episode yet, don't forget to wear your sunglasses while watching. Why? Thanks to Rudra's Suit, it was glaring with all sorts of blue, red gray's and yellow!!! yuck!
ReplyDeleteI know the production house is in a tight budget, but god that's awful, they can rent better one's for sure.
As usual RR's plots don't believe in dragging any of their plots, not that I need them to.Both son and father have already come across their mother/wife's look alike within the 20 minutes!!! :-0
Both the kids are adorable, we see that even Little Dhruv has the same protective and caring nature as his parents when it comes to his loved one's, not only he does his best to put a smile on his dad's face but also stands up for his little busybody little cousin from her granny's wrath. :-)
Poor little Dhruv has already heard so many great things about his mother and growing up without one is not a joke, and certainly looking at his own cousin Koel who must be sharing warm and lovingly affection from both her parents will certainly not help his situation. As he stumbles across Myra on his way to school he can't believe his eyes and his mellow 'mommy', 'mama' uff somebody give him hugs and kisses already please ;-)))
And it looks like it had similar reaction with Rudra too, looking at Mayra who looks exactly like Paro but somehow she isn't his Paro too!!
Liked Ashish here, his initial dismay, interspersed with Paro's flashback, the big gulp of breath and all his facial expression were so well done, so I considered to ignore the multi-colored suit there! ;-)
The last scene and the dialogues were so touching and apt- why did Bolenath have to do that snatch Paro away from her loved one's, one who worshiped him, loved everybody,so full of life and now god again seems to be playing a bad joke with them, but this time his innocent son is involved and he is not strong enough and will end up heart broken :-((
Its sure that for now Rudra is going to stay away from Myra as much as possible and will make sure his son is too, but will he succeed in doing so, because Dhruv seems to have been kind of convinced that his birthday wish has been granted from god!!
Little Dhruv is soooooo adorable ... his 'mummy' broke my heart ... and Myrah getting worried that she had scared him with her turban, made me smile! She was too cute there!
DeleteThe last scene ... just as it started, my mom went ... oh no, is he going to cry again? and that kind of took away the pathos for me!!! :)))
But the scene was good, fortunately the breakdown wasn't prolonged ... I think Ashish has gotten feedback to tone down his emotional scenes ... and Rudra's dialogues were beautiful and heartbreaking ... Why God, why Paro, when she had so much faith in you, she never asked for anything, she never hurt anyone, she had love for everyone and to spare ... she brought Rudra back to life, and he's managing to live without her ... but his son just has a picture in the place of a mother ... God, how heartbreaking was that one line :(((
And Rudra's fear that Dhruv will be affected, will suffer even more heartbreak when he finds Myrah is not really his mother ...
Interspersed with Paro's dialgues ... notice they were all about their divine love, being together forever ... wonder what the cv's meant by using those particular dialogues.
Rudra will try to stay away from Myrah, he will try to keep Dhruv away from her too ... but Dhruv has other ideas. I'm waiting to see how they take this forward.
I had to blink at that multicolored suit and tie ... it didn't look so hideous in the SBS, but on screen, it looked awful! Even the new montage, the black blazer with that very schoolboy patch on the pocket is not impressive. But Sanaya looks very cute with her coffee mug and her wink!
Delete@ Quote, Interspersed with Paro's dialogues ... notice they were all about their divine love, being together forever ... wonder what the cv's meant by using those particular dialogues.
DeleteHmm I did not think of it that way.... I thought that he was remembering all those moments where Paro was promising him a forever relationship between them and her immense belief in god and indicating their relationship to be blessed by bolenath himself yet it all came crumbling down and his question to god following his breakdown was directed towards Paro's beliefs, that's why I felt those flashbacks were shown.
I know everybody wants Myra to be Paro, not that I don't want it to be the same, but RR is not going to be any different then!
Why should there be a romantic angle only between Rudra and Myra? Can't there be anything else, like friendship, where in she helps him to get closure with his past and give some love and affection to little Dhruv as a friend/aunt and help him realize his mom is no more but come to peace with that?!!!
I am an aunt I love my nieces and nephew and shower them with loads of attention, I know it does not fill their mother's spot, but its still helps them to bond with family members!
They can handle this as a mature story but I don't see them going down this road, majority of the audience wont like this. :-/
@Morning breeze: Indian audience is not matured enough to watch a radical concept, though that happens in real life. Forget about Myrah becoming just a good influence in Dhruv's life. We want something dramatic and filmy. Hai na? :P Let's consider your idea of Myrah becoming an aunt / friend to Dhruv / Rudra. The rudra - Myrah angle might be viable, even if the audience don't like it. Rudra and Myrah could be ok with it. But poor Dhruv is under the assumption that he has got his entire life's Christmas gifts in a day, after seeing Myrah. It would be difficult to handle the kid in that case. So the makers have to show the 'kamaal ka twist' sometime, unless they decide to go with plan B because of other factors. The CVs are in a tight spot. At some point they have to justify Paro's death. Like dia said, they have been showing a divine love concept to the audience for the past seven months and they have to justify their own concept by bringing Paro back or by keeping Rudra as a lonely widower forever and just being friends with Myrah. I can only think of these two options, unless the CVs have another ideas.
Delete- Madhumitha
I agree with Madhu mitha ... I don't see Indian audiences read for a mature friendship type of relationship ... although in this case, that would be the most logical outcome, if Myrah is not Paro. I actually can't see Rudra falling for Myrah, it will make such a mockery of the whole seven months of soulmates, divine love and all that jazz ...the only way the CV's can do it is by somehow showing a Myrah-Paro connection. Otherwise, they might as well have done a generation leap ... and started a completely new story.
DeleteI think there is a very strong possibility of Myrah either being Paro, or having a very strong connection with her. Think about it ... what would the cvs be thinking? Why do a seven year leap and retain the ML, and change the FL? Unless the first love/spouse is a vamp, like Shagun in YHM, a second spouse will not work on Indian TV. Maybe they felt that Paro was too traditional even for the village audience, 5th pass almost illiterate girl ... I feel that was a mistake ... and it would take too long to modernise her even to the level of making her on par with small town girls, all of whom are more educated and more modern in outlook than Paro, and are the bulk of the TRP adience as well. Maybe they just ran out of steam on the PaRud story, after all they're madly in love, happily married, and have a baby. What more to show in a love story? On the other hand, they have hammered the soul connection down our throats for the last seven months ... so they can't just abandon that and get in a brand new girl as heroine ... a generation leap with new characters would have served the purpose much better.
So I'm sure they will establish that connection at some point. They have brought in Myrah and the child characters to make the show lighter and fresher, and to get it out of the dark smuggler/ armed forces backdrop, which obviously didn't find many takers ... and make it more in tune with the other shows on all channels. The leap makes no sense otherwise
I guess morning breeze has been viewing the sequence from rudra's point of view, whereas dia and I are seeing from the CVs point of view. May be that's why the positivity? Agree dia? :P

Yes, Madhu, agree! I really feel it will be suicidal for the cvs to go for a brand new love story... As far as I remember, this has never been done in any show, two love stories for the same hero/heroine. Gul would have tried it with IPK when BS left, but that was for totally different reasons.
DeleteSo, my guess is that the situation might force rudra to marry or atleast stay close to myrah. Am I right? I don't think rudra might do that, unless his son gives him no choice (just like his mom). The poor kid is already convinced that his prayers are answered. The CVs have really got us thinking. Appreciate it. Dia's questions echo in my mind too. Dhruv-Myrah relationship would blossom for sure. Not sure how. Rudra - Myrah dynamics would be interesting to watch. So back to the question of connection between paro and Myrah. Are they related? The Paro death episode was not very detailed. Was that deliberate? Or did the makers decided not to show a woman's murder in detail? But the chase sequence between shanthanu and paro was a little longer. The first half of the Wednesday's episode was like a collection of hints, left to the viewers to develop. Atleast that is how i see it. We are truly in an interesting spot. Can't wait to go home and watch the episode.

After weeks of travelling in Shathapdhi Express, got to travel in Ooty express today. Well, not so slow as the real Ooty Express, but slower than the usual pace and a pleasant one. Am glad that the CVs are not letting us forget Paro. This is exactly what I wanted. The beautiful flashback scenes (though it had bloopers) remembered by Rudra, then his monologue towards the end of the show, Paro's words echoing in his head.... everything was very beautifully done. Was a very emotional episode. Felt bad for Rudra. He suffered as a kid. His wife helped him overcome it. But it is very difficult to face sufferance when you are an adult. That is clearly shown. His guilt in failing to protect Paro, his outburst to the God, his angst for his son.... very well portrayed by Ashish.
ReplyDeleteLove those two kids! The opening scene was super cute. Mohini seems to have toned down a bit. Grand children's influence? So, no more villains. Atleast inside the house. Every track seems to be good and promising when it starts. But somewhere down the line (due to TRPs), the narration becomes loose. Hope the CVs don't make the same mistake here.
Me too ... I like that they haven't forgotten Paro, and are keeping her very much in the story. It does not seem possible for Rudra to forget Paro and fall for Myrah ... he could move on ... but with Paro's lookalike? Doesn't make sense ... it would make their love story so utterly superficial, after all that soul connection and divine love they kept pushing at us all this while.
DeleteHope the cvs continue to take this slowly ... and don't press the panic button for TRPs too soon.
@Morning Breeze
ReplyDeleteCAUTION: For those who haven't watched the episode yet, don't forget to wear your sunglasses while watching. Why? Thanks to Rudra's Suit, it was glaring with all sorts of blue, red gray's and yellow!!! yuck!
Too funny, couldn't stop laughing.....What's with the horrible suits? 3 piece brightly colored suits in the Rajasthan heat! Really...
Hurtful to see Rudra from his awesome uniform to these rainbow colored suits!
How to be a top-notch "Security Officer":
ReplyDelete1.Forget blending in, STAND OUT from the crowd by wearing colour blinding outfit. Uses:
a. The Criminal will know there is a security officer protecting someone.
b. The Criminal will be blinded by the outfit so he will think twice about
attacking - not to mention the disorientation with so much bling.
c. Oh, ofcourse make it easier for your client who has never ever seen you to
recognize you with that blingy outfit.
Btw, I liked the episode. There is a lot of curiosity factor, so hopefully whatever time is left, they don't goof up too badly.
Rang Rasiya Season 2 begins.
2. Always see, aim for bigger things in life - The "Security Officer" can
protect big stuff like people but cannot take care of his own wallet.
3. Be highly professional -
(i) Do not wait for the client, so what if you are paid exactly for that - wait
around and protect the client.
(ii) When the Client apologizes, RUN.
(iii) On duty, allow personal problems to interfere with work.
Mehhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
On duty, allow personal problems to interfere with work ... ho hum, so what else is new? :)))
DeleteAs for that blingy suit, ouch ... it hurt my eyes!!! Red shirt and red tie ... who the heck is their designer?
I liked the episode too ... just wonder where they're going with this season. It has to lead to Myrah being Paro ... there is no way they can justify the whole story unless they do that ... and they are keeping Paro's fbs very much in the picture, so far at least.
